HEAVEN AND BACK!
—CHAPTER THREE
Pairing: Lucifer Morningstar x Alastor's Mom! Angel! Reader
Fandom: Hazbin Hotel
Genre: Romance, love at first sight.
Warnings: none.
Notes: sorry it took awhile, I got lazy lmfao. Also, I listened to caramelldansen when writing this.
CH. ONE | CH. TWO | CH. FOUR | NAV.
It has been a few days since Alastor's mother decided to stay at the hotel, the woman fits right in perfectly with the sinners in the hotel.
Almost.
The angelic woman couldn't get a chance to get to know better hell's very own King, Lucifer.
As Alastor always tries to come in between her and the man.
Is this what Adam called "Cock blocking?" She heard the man say that before and before Adam could explain it to her, Emily explained that it's something where 'You try to talk to someone but somehow there's something or someone stopping you from doing so?' that's what the girl said but did also tell her to not use that term.
How strange.
She sighs, running a hand through her [h/c] locks, careful not to accidentally scratch her own deer antlers. The woman is currently in her 'demon' form, large deer like antlers that are on top of her head, she made sure not to wear bright colors and instead chose to wear something on the darker shades of red, her wings are hidden while her halo was transformed into a golden necklace that hung around her neck.
She rests a leg on top of her other leg as she sits on one of the many cushioned chairs of the hotel, she looks down from the second floor balcony, getting a good view of the hotel's lobby.
“Pray tell, what really brings you here in hell oh dear mother of mine?” Alastor asked beside her, standing beside the seat she sat on, his hand holding his cane-like microphone, he looked at his mother with a grin, though, a confused look in his eyes. He knows his mother, he got his personality from her after all.
Like mother, like son.
[Y/n] giggled, “Overseeing this hotel's progress, isn't that an enough reason to be here?” she answers, eyes closed with a gentle smile on her face. Her eyes opened to see her son's disbelief smile.
Alastor tilted his head slightly, grin widening, “I doubt that is the reason, I was so sure that the celestial realm denied Charlie's plans so,” he says, pausing a bit as he hummed to himself as if he was thinking, “—I was rather surprised that heaven decided to change their minds.” he says with a smirk.
He knows she's hiding something.
[Y/n] can't help but let the sides of her lips twitch upwards to a slight smirk. Clever boy. She thought to herself.
With a defeated sigh, she chuckled after, “There is a reason but heaven cannot disclose that yet. That is the only thing I can tell you.” she explained before raising an eyebrow at him, “Is that an enough reason?”
Alastor tilted his head slightly, his smile widened, humming as he thought to himself, “Hmm... I supposed that is an enough reason and I should stop bothering my mother about it.” he says with a smirk.
[Y/n] playfully rolls her eyes at her son, eyes fixated down below to the lobby of the hotel, [e/c] eyes focused on a certain blond fallen angel who's currently drinking a glass of wine at the bar area.
“Enough of that, I would like to ask you why do you keep on trying to stop me from interacting with him?” She asked, head turning away from the scene below and once more looked at Alastor whose smile had slightly lowered in annoyance, a small scoff leaving past his lips.
“Do I really need to give you a reason, dear mother of mine?” Alastor asked, tilting his head, his voice sounding almost a grimace thinking about the shorter man making moves on her.
[Y/n] just raises her eyebrow at him, a small hum escaping her lips, “Please do.”
Alastor hums, dark red eyes looking down on the folks currently in the lobby, “He's a man, mother. In fact, he's the king of hell. I don't trust him.” he grumbles, the smile on his face is gone and is now replaced with a small frown.
[Y/n]'s face softened, she knows her son's disapproval in men, especially if said men have an interest in her. Her last marriage was a failure and filled with pain and Alastor was by her side through it all.
She can understand why he hesitates, why he tries to put distance between her and the men that come to her life.
"Alastor, sweetheart. Don't worry about me,” She says softly, a small gentle smile on her face. Her eyes closing and opening as she glanced at the people down below, her smile widened as she saw sinners mingled with one another.
She's glad. She's glad that there are souls who are willing to try and earn redemption.
And she's here to guide them.
Alastor looked at his mother, his usual grin now back on his face.
“Besides, the man seems nice. It must be lonely being the first fallen angel.” she says softly, she can't imagine the pain Lucifer must've dealt with. She read about him when she was in heaven, she was curious about the first fallen angel and the heavenly libraries were filled with eons and eons of information and she read everything she can about him. Sera even warned her in case she turns to heresy and Sera made sure to remind her to keep her loyalty to heaven and avoid getting influenced by him.
Alastor hums, “I suppose,” he says with a small nod before giving his mother a side eye, “Though, I don't think I'll be comfortable with the possibility of calling him...” he paused and gave a small gag, “—father.” he says with disgust.
[Y/n] chuckles, “Me? Marrying the king of hell? What an ambitious dream would that be.” she says with a small laugh, flicking her hand sassily.
“I just want to be his friend, the man seems like he hasn't formed any meaningful relationships during his life.” she says with a small giggle and Alastor had to fight back from laughing, “Indeed, he has not.” he agrees with a small chuckle.
“Don't be mean, I didn't raise you like that.” [Y/n] chuckles, elbowing her son on his side which made Alastor let a small grunt before pouting at her, “Apologies.” he says, tone clearly not genuine which [Y/n] can clearly tell.
She sighs exasperatedly.
Alastor chuckles his eyes closing before opening once more to look at his beloved mother, “Oh and another thing,” he spoke, [Y/n] looked at him a quirked eyebrow, a small hum escaping her lips, “Hmm?”
“I would like to express my gratitude in what you have down to the hotel's garden, you've brought life to this godforsaken place. I am sure these sinners haven't seen any kind of greenery ever since they have died.” Alastor grins, his eyes darkened from amusement over the misery of these loathsome sinners.
[Y/n] chuckles, though, questioning where she went wrong in raising him.
“It was nothing, I thought the hotel needed a little green that's all! All of these reds are hurting my eyes.” she says glancing at Alastor with a judgemental look in her eyes.
Alastor just rolls his eyes at her which earned him another harsh elbow to the sides.
Lucifer was admiring the lush garden of the hotel's backyard, he has never seen such greenery before—he did but it was eons ago when he was still divine, but it was eons ago and has already forgotten what it looked like—a large willow tree at the side just by the door to the hotel, the once dried up fountain at the center is now back and running, multiple plants surrounded the area and grass, good heavens, he doesn't remember when was the last time he touched grass.
He doesn't know when was the last time you touched grass, dear reader. Go out sometimes, it'll be good for you.
What was he thinking again? Ah, grass.
‘I broke the fourth wall? You're just seeing things, sweetheart.’ he thought in amusement, eyes staring off somewhere as if looking at something... Or someone.
He just chuckled in amusement before walking towards one of the bushes of roses, the heels of his shoes clicked against the pebbled pathway and he stopped in front of a bush of white roses, the fragrance of the flower immediately filling his nose.
It's been so long. He forgot what roses smell like.
Lucifer's eyes sparkled in awe, his wine red like eyes filled with wonder, his right gloved hand gently caressing the petal of a white rose, feeling its softness—just one of the few species of flowers that bloomed in hell for the first time.
“Do you like it?” a feminine voice spoke out—a voice familiar to Lucifer, a voice belonging to a certain radio demon's mother, the silkiness of her voice—it made Lucifer shudder, “I thought the garden looked bare, I thought some greenery would fix it.” [Y/n] chuckles softly.
Lucifer turns around and sees [Y/n] standing behind him, her hands behind her back. The red knee length dress hugged her curves perfectly—it stole Lucifer's breath away, she's gorgeous.
He chuckles, placing his right hand back to his cane, “Indeed, it has been quite long since I've seen such beautiful flowers.” he says, his voice filled with longing and a hint of sadness that [Y/n] didn't fail to notice but decided not to point it out, “They are lovely, I am grateful for being presented with another opportunity to see such beautiful flowers.” he spoke softly, irises glancing at the flowers briefly before looking back at the taller woman.
[Y/n] chuckles softly, “It's a pleasure,” she says with a small smile, taking slow steps as she walked by his side.
“It was fun growing them and an honor to give the princess of hell her own garden of flowers.” she says with a slight chuckle.
“And with that, I am forever grateful.” Lucifer says with a small smile, eyes shining briefly and for once, it's not dull.
[Y/n] was glad to see the shine on his beautiful eyes, and also seeing a genuine smile on the man's face.
After all, you're never fully dressed without a smile.
“You are most absolutely welcome, sweetheart.” she says with a grin, amusement dancing in her eyes as the rosy spots on the man's cheeks seem to redden even more.
“Ex-excuse m-me?!” he stammers, the endearment catching him off guard, it has been quite some time since someone called him something so... Affectionate.
[Y/n] tilted her head slightly, a feigned confusion on her face. Who knew the king of hell is quite easy to tease?
“Hmm? Is something the matter?” she asked softly, a hint of playfulness in her voice, “Is the nickname not to your liking? Would you prefer darling instead?” she asked teasingly.
Lucifer has never been more flustered in his entire existence.
“Are you normally this mischievous?” he asked, his hand covering his face while his other hand gripped into his cane.
“Usually I'm more.” she answered honestly with mischief on her lips.
“Of course, you're the mother of a certain radio demon.” he said with an exaggerated sigh making [Y/n] chuckle.
“Speaking of him, where is he? He usually stays by your side.” he deadpans, his hand that was covering his face lowered back to hold his cane, he's been wanting to interact with this woman properly ever since he met her but that damn radio demon kept her away.
[Y/n] hums, “I am not entirely sure, I'm sure he is somewhere around the hotel.” she says with a hum in her voice, glancing at the side to see a certain demonic shadow quickly leaving.
This damn brat, she'll teach him a lesson later.
Lucifer just hums, thank Satan. He can't stand that demon and his annoying grin.
Finally recomposing himself, he grins at her.
“Well then, I hope everyone in the hotel is treating you well? I haven't gotten the chance to ask you as a certain someone kept getting in the way.” he says with a small smile but his voice strained a little when he mentioned a certain someone.
[Y/n] hums softly, leaning down slightly to reach the rose bush, her hand gently caressing the petal of a white rose, “Everyone has been nice so far, I'm glad you asked.” she says cheerfully.
“I'm glad.” he says with grin.
“I am glad too.” she said softly with a grin.
Maybe, hell isn't too bad.
Both of them thought at the same time.

𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐈𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐆𝐈𝐄𝐌𝐀𝐍?
micheal afton x fem!reader
sfw wishing it was halloween so this could be halloween themed but oh well,
nav • m.a m.list • series master list
swearing, a kiss, in the same timeline as my other fic, evan and elizabeth are very much alive, readers in a band, micheal has a nose piercing, micheal afton with a mullet, b/n = brothers name, sneaking into the pizzeria. drinking, stealing, playboy magazine, random names
───────✧ 𓆩♡𓆪 ✧───────
Michaels's fingers drummed on the steering wheel, the music flowing from the speakers quietly but loud enough that he could enjoy it. the lights from the convenience store lit up his facial features as he waited on his friends. the summer heat was giving him a reminder of how hot it would be in his father's pizzaria, just the thought or mention of it made him groan and this constant reminder was not helping him in the slightest.
Michaels's eyes drifted around his truck, locking his eyes on the cd of your own music you had given him when you both were walking home from the two nice ladies' diner. lips turning up slowly into a soft smile, tempted to put it and listen but knowing his friends would be back any minute and he washed the thought out of his head, he could listen after dropping them off later.
laugher broke out into the summer air causing Michael to look up, watching his friends walk out with smiles. sighed as he could already pinpoint almost everything they had stolen—honestly shocked that no one called them out for it because they were awful at hiding it, you could practically see a bottle of alcohol in the front of Steven’s pants.
“Mikey I got your favorite” Jeremy snickered as he got into the small back seat, Steven got in after with the same smirk that Jeremy had. Michael shook his head but smiled as he started to pull out. Michael had gotten in trouble last time for coming home drunk by his mom, he could barely remember anything from that except the “you’re 18 and live under my roof and you will not be coming home drunk” lecture and he really didn't want to hear it again.
“Oh! I got you this, thought it looked like your girl” steven said, smacking the gum in his mouth as he pulled the dirty magazine from where he tucked it in the waistband of his pants and handed it to Michael.
“Shut the fuck up, she’s not my girl” Michael scoffed, glancing at the magazine, yes it did look like you but it was not you. steven mumbled a jokey “whatever” while Jeremy threw his hands up with a shrug when michael looked back at him. Michael tossed the magazine to the floor on the passenger side, but it took every ounce of self-control he had to not keep glancing at it.
“Mikey- man- we should drink at Freddy's,” Steven said, he looked back at Jeremy and the boy nodded, Michael sighed and let his head roll back onto the headrest.
“You know my dad would kill me if he found out,” Michael said, stopping at a red light.
“Cmon mike, we’re going away for college after this summer, let’s have fun and I know there's no alarm, just mega fuckin’ locks,” Steven said, taking the alcohol out of his pants and passing them back to Jeremy.
“Mira’s at the mall with y/n and kim, let’s invite them” Jeremy suggested, sitting the alcohol in the seat next to him carefully. Michael thought it over in his head, it wasn’t a bad idea but if William found out he would probably rip the piercing right out of his nose, if it didn’t he would have a great time and he knew of a way to get in without a key but this could be the last time to do this till his dad hired the security guard that he was talking about at dinner.
“Okay, okay” Michael gave in, putting his blinker on.
“maybe Kim will have weed” steven mentioned, lifting his brows.
“Probably not, her mom caught her with it right after graduation. I’ve heard her moms checking everything when she gets home and saying she won’t stop till she moves out” Jeremy sighed.
-
mira was digging through her bag as you sat on the concrete. a bubble gum sucker in your mouth, kim sat next to you and counted the money that was in her wallet.
“wow kim you really cut down on your shopping addiction” you joked and nudged her arm. kim laughed softly.
“saving up to move out” kim said, zipping up her wallet and tossing it into her small bag.
“no college?” you asked, tossing the lollipop stick onto the ground.
“don’t think it’s for me if I'm being honest, I like it here and the only college I would want to go to is out of state,” she confessed. you nodded as if you understood, but you didn’t, you wanted out of this shitty small town in the most shitty state. you wanted to get far far away and sometimes you hoped some magical person would come sweep you off your feet and save you.
“you look at any apartments?” you asked, you looked behind you at mira and she was still looking for something then you looked at kim.
“yeah, a few, there's this really cute one i looked at but it's a bit pricey” she answered with a shrug.
it was getting dark, you all came to the mall after the rush hour, not wanting to wait in lines and since it was summer everyone was there, it was the only thing to do in a town in the middle of nowhere and this was the only thing for everyone to enjoy.
music blared and you could see the signature red truck coming your way. Michael Afton and his friends, you knew Ben wasn’t with them since he was at your grandma's house three hours away helping your other aunt to move in and take care of her.
mira walked over to you and kim after finally finding her keys and wallet, she laughed as they pulled up.
it was weird how you all were connected, you all gravitated towards each other without even knowing people you all were close to had some type of connection with the other, until you all finally made the connections, jeremy was dating mira’s step brother and kim was in a relationship with michaels cousin macy while ben was on and off with steven’s sister.
michael rolled down his window and jeremy popped his head out from between the seats.
mira rolled her eyes playfully. “knew I shouldn't have told you where we were going” she laughed.
“what’s wrong with wanting to see my best friends in the world?” Jeremy acted offended. “we’re here to give you something fun to do in the town of hurricane, i think you should be begging to come with us” he added.
you laughed and looked up at mira.
“why not” you said, getting up of the concrete then helping kim up.
“meet us at freddys” steven yelled as michael started to roll his window up, mira shouted an okay before hitting the unlock button on her keys.
“that freaky animatronic place?” kim asked as you three started walking to miras car.
“maybe it will be spooky” you said, moving your fingers and making ghost sounds before getting into the car. kim laughed and rolled her eyes.
driving there didn’t take too long, the mall was a bit away from it since they wanted to put it somewhere that made it accessible for most of the town. it was fully dark out and street lights were already on.
mira parked where michael's truck was, a little ways from the pizzeria.
“about time you guys showed up” steven said as you three walked to them.
“don’t they have cameras here” you asked, the breeze gave you a chill.
“My dad took the old ones out since they kept messing up and ordered new ones so we’re good with cameras,” Michael said, easing your nerves.
“okay then why’d we have to park in the mud, its caked on my shoes, '' Kim complained.
“because my dad drives by here on his way home from my uncles” michael huffed, and walked to a spot where he could pull off the vent cover with ease.
“wait we have to crawl through that?” mira asked in disgust, jeremy rolled his eyes. “there's probably bugs in there” she added.
“is a little bug gonna stop you from a date with mr.vodka and ms.beer?” jeremy asked in a baby voice, taking out the alcohol out from the bag that sat on the ground beside him.
thankfully michael had the rest of the cups he bought for jeremy's birthday party in march in his truck, and they had stolen some pineapple juice earlier.
“well i didn’t know alcohol was involved” Mira said and got closer to the vent.
“of course alcohol was involved, we said something fun to do, not that a miracle would happen” Michael said with a breathy laugh. mira laughed and mumbled something about him being right.
“alright, this leads to parts and service and nothing blocks this duct so we should be able to get in and out easily, plus it’s not very long and it’s pretty big so no one has to worry about claustrophobia” Michael informed everyone.
you all stood in silence and looked around at each other. Michael huffed, “okay i’ll go first” he said before getting on his knees and crawled into the vent.
Michael made it inside and turned on the light before yelling for the next person.
Michael yelled out again to bring the alcohol so the last person didn’t have to worry about it.
“y/n do it with me” Mira begged, her hands clasped together.
“okay” you said, dragging out the ‘ay’ as you grabbed the bag and slid it into the vent then go in after.
you pushed the bag as you crawled, mira knew you were safe to go in with since she knew jeremy or kim would joke and say something about a bug and freak her out.
Michael helped you up then took the alcohol, you helped mira and she brushed off her clothes.
“see no bugs” Michael said with a sly smile.
“yeah see mira, Michael was the only bug you had to worry about” you quipped and shrugged your shoulders.
Michael booed you as he left the room.
-
soon you all gathered in a private party room so no one would see the lights, you all took your pick on what alcohol you wanted.
“y/n come take a shot with me” steven said loudly.
you were two shots in and took three tiny sips of mira’s vodka and pineapple drink, you guys worked with what you had and you all were lucky Michael was able to get some sodas from the vending machine.
steven poured the shots and opened a coke for a chaser. He handed it to you and started to count. your face scrunched as you swallowed and he took a sip of the coke then handed it to you.
“that was foul” you groaned and shook your head. steven nodded then took another sip from the coke.
you migrated back to mira, she was on her first beer after he vodka drink, you noted that kim took minimal sips of the one beer she had carried around the entire time, you also decided to only sip on a beer and you were barely buzzed.
-
you didn’t know how you and Michael had gotten away from everyone else but you did.
“not drinking much today mikey?” you asked, leaning on a wall next to where he was standing. you knew Michael liked to drink, you even saw him shitfaced at stevens little get together in october. you remembered how you two bickered even when he was drunk.
“someones gotta drive you know” he said, you nodded and took another sip.
“kims also holding back drinking for the same reason then?” you asked, you looked at him, his blue eyes returned the gaze.
“yeah we talked about it while i got the soda” he confirmed.
you smiled before leaning off the wall and starting to walk down the hall.
Michael followed you, “where you going rockstar?” he asked and tilted his head.
you smiled, “giving myself a tour since the heir of this pizzeria won’t” you said and shrugged, tilting your head like his.
Michael laughed, you didn't know if it was because he knew his dad would rather die than let this whole franchise be ran by someone who is not him personally or that you wanted a tour of the place.
“if you wanted to see animatronics that can sing and play instruments better than you, you should’ve just said that” Michael responded, he crossed his arms and walked to you.
you rolled your eyes, “that’s exactly why i invited you to that diner, since you’re always around great entertainment i thought you would enjoy my mediocre singing” you laughed and took a drink.
“yes i just love terrible singing and when sage knocked over those couples drinks with their guitar,” Michael said and nodded his head. you giggled and nodded.
“that was pretty funny tho” you admitted and smacked his shoulder lightly.
you walked into the pirates cove section, Michael turned on the light since there was no window in there. you moved the curtain even though it said ‘out of order’.
Michael leaned against the wall, you inhaled sharply as the fox animatronic stared back at you, your eyes wide, the stance the animatronic was in was terrifying, it looked like it could run straight out of the curtain or like it was waiting for someone to open the curtain and be right in their face.
“holy shit” you mumbled and took a step back and bumped into Michael.
“that's foxy” he said, his hand coming to your shoulder.
“no, that is freaky as fuck” you responded, looking at it made you get goosebumps.
Michael moved from behind you and closed the curtain. “Here I'll show you the old ones” he said and grabbed your hand and turned the light off before leading you out of the room.
you could hear jeremy and mira laughing and singing while kim tried to get jeremy off of the table.
he took you to the storage room, the room was filled with labeled boxes, he guided you past the shelves.
“my dad doesn’t want to retire them but uncle henry said that they need to be more ahead of their times for business plus he doesn’t think they’re safe” he said.
you stood there looking at the old bunny suit, the old yellowing suit with a bowtie, the texture looked almost like real fur and you reached your hand out to touch it.
Michael reached his hand out to stop yours.
“i wouldn’t touch it” he said, bringing your hand back but not letting go. you looked at him, he was so close to you and you honestly don't think he’s ever been this close to you during the entire frenemies relationship you have. Michael’s cologne engulfed you and it was weirdly comforting.
you furrowed your brows and he could tell you were silently asking why.
“it has springlocks in it and its probably been ready to pop since its been a while, they made it so someone could wear it or it be an animatronic on its own, they had a problem with it and moisture. i don’t want you to get hurt” michael informed you and only one sentence stood out. his hand still holding yours.
your eyes went from his to his lips then back up, was it bad that you wanted to kiss him? did he look at you like this all the time?
maybe this was what mira and kim was talking about when they would bring up yours and michaels relationship, the soft bickering and stubbornness from both parties was what you two liked to put out, it made things fun and when asked about there being more the “no michael’s a fucking dick” and “she’s a bitch” was the common response, even when you both knew that was not the case.
you sat your drink on the shelf behind you and Michael got closer, you don’t know what made you so confident, you closed the small gap and connected your lips to his.
Michaels hand moved to your waist and pushed you back softly against the shelf, he didn’t push you away which was relieving and instead welcomed it with open arms like he had been waiting, and maybe he was waiting.
your hand moved to his neck and welcomed that the kiss was getting rougher.
you were about to move your fingers into his hair, the hair he took so much pride in and messed with all the time, the same stupid mullet you gave him so much shit for and said how bad it looked when in reality it just made him look good.
a loud sound, like something heavy running made you two jump away from each other but still keep your hands on each other.
“did you hear that?” you asked and tried to look around. your heart was beating fast.
“yeah” Michael breathed out, his heart beating just as fast as yours. He pulled away from you but took ahold of your hand, you quickly grabbed your drink as you were being pulled by him.
you both looked around, you didn’t know what to look for but michael knew. he could see from the corner of his eye he could see that chica had moved and now stood in a dark corner.
“did you guys hear that?” kim asked, which made you both jump again. you both pulled your hands away from each other.
you smiled at her, “told you it would be spooky” you giggled and she rolled her eyes.
“its getting really late, we should get ready to leave.” Michael said, walking towards the private party room.
you and Michael cleaned up the room while kim got mira, jeremy and steven collected and ready to leave.
kim went out first then mira, jeremy and steven and you followed behind to make sure they got through safely. Michael did a mental check of everything before crawling out himself.
you carried the bag that had empty cups, bottles and cans and some full ones.
“im just gonna take them to mira’s house” kim said, mira gave her the keys earlier.
“i’ll take y/n” Michael yawned and ran his hands through his hair which just made it fluffier.
“i think this is the only time you two have gotten along” kim laughed, you rolled your eyes and Michael mumbled “shut up”
once you helped get mira and steven in the car kim was saying her goodbyes.
“call me when you get home” you said as you hopped into Michael's truck and put the bag in the back.
“i will, get home safe” kim said and backed out.
a few minutes into the drive you spotted the cd you gave him. you leaned over and grabbed it.
“my singing is shit but you keep my cd in your truck?” you asked with a sly smirk, you watched Michael smile and shake his head.
“there's a reason it was on the floor” he quipped and leaned back in his seat.
“oh yeah, on the floor next to your playboy” you said and held up the magazine, Michael inhaled sharply and snatched the magazine from you and tossed it into the back.
“i have no idea what you’re talking about,” Michael responded and looked over at you.
you laughed and smacked his shoulder. “you can admit that you love my band, i won't tell anyone” you said.
Michael pulled into his driveway, his fathers car not there which did make him worry.
“there’s nothing to admit” he sighed, turning off the ignition.
“sure” you said, dragging it out as you undid your seatbelt.
you and michael got closer, you leaned against the center console and just when you were about to close the gap, you leaned back, smirked and shook your head.
“punishment for saying my singing is shit” you said and got out of the truck.

Your mother had insisted that you ought to purchase some new ribbons to accessorise your hair.
So you and Daphne made a trip to the boutique, along with your chaperone.
Both of you strolled around the Modiste, each taking your time to look at the different dresses and garments.
“How about this colour?” Daphne held up a bright orange ribbon.
You gazed upon it with disgust before letting out a giggle. “It looks like something Prudence Featherington would wear.”
You gestured to a pastel yellow ribbon. “Wouldn’t this be nice for Penelope?”
Daphne turned around to look. “I would say we should purchase it, but Colin should be the one to gift it to her.”
You both slyly smirked at each other, all of your family knew of your brother’s affections towards the Featherington girl.
As you looked at the ribbons, analysing each one carefully, you decided on a soft baby blue, it would go with many of your dresses, blue was the signature colour of the Bridgertons after all.
You and your sister had spent at least one or two hours in the modiste, when all you went for was some more ribbons.
“Shall we go to the café across the street?” Daphne asked.
“Well I am quite famished.”
Once again, Death had dragged Dream with her on another outing.
It started with paying for the latest Lady Whistledown paper and then going to buy a few dresses.
“I’m quite hungry dear brother, shall we have some tea and cakes?”
Morpheus playfully rolled his eyes. “Will you give me a choice?”
Death smiled up at him and patted his arm. “You know I won’t.”
Death stepped into the cafe, looking around for an empty table. As she looked, she spotted you and Daphne, and an empty table right in front of yours.
“Over there.”
Morpheus looked to where she was pointing and sighed. Of course.
“And so Simon-” Daphne paused when she spotted Lord Morpheus sit down at the table behind you.
“Is something wrong?” You asked.
As you were about to turn, she removed her knowing gaze from Lady Death and grabbed your attention. “No, everything is fine.”
You hummed and went back to sipping your tea.
“You sat here on purpose, didn’t you?” Morpheus said after Death had finished ordering a table full of desserts.
Death gave him a mock look of surprise. “Absolutely not, this was the only free table-”
“There’s one right in front of the door.” Dream gave her a blank look.
“Listen, you need to get yourself out there. Miss Bridgerton could possibly-” It seemed that Morpheus had developed a habit of interrupting her.
“I desire not to involve myself in romantic relations, or any relations at all.” That was probably the fifth time Morpheus had sighed today.
Death shook her head in annoyance. “Okay, very well. Morpheus, I’m trying. I am trying to get you to make friends, but if you wish to be alone for the rest of your days, then so be it.”
She stood, gathering her skirts, then exiting, leaving Morpheus alone like he said he wanted.
Daphne sat and watched the scene with concern. Her eyes met Dream’s dark ones before quickly looking away.
She shall have a talk with her dear friend later.

"seven year old y/n held tightly onto her dogs leash, determined that for the first time, she would walk him alone without one of her parents breathing down her neck. she wasn't allowed to go far, just to the dock and back, hardly a quarter mile from the safety of her parents back porch.
for a seven year old y/n, this was huge. i mean, it was her proudest moment yet- proving to her parents that she was finally a big girl. in stature, though, you weren't. as a matter of fact, her dog, who she ever so creatively named "valentine" after her favourite holiday, almost towered over the kid. he was an akita, a gentle giant- your parents always called him. valentine was a guard dog, and y/n's best friend since as long as she could recall; which was probably only a couple of years at the time.
as she walked down the sidewalk lining the beach, head held high and leash in hand, she was feeling good. she waved at neighbours, and only stopped to collect some pretty rocks a couple of times on the way toward the dock. the end was in sight- the halfway point of her walk where she would turn and go back to her parents who would inevitably hug her and tell her how proud they were.
she looked out at the marsh for just a second, when valentine let out a bark. before y/n could even turn her head to see what had him so upset, her whole, little body was yanked forward and she were face planting on the cement and rocks, leash falling from her grip as the big dog bolted away.
backtracking a little bit, around the same time you were beginning your walk, a little boy named pope heyward just cast his first reel off the dock, also not far from his parents home. this was his first taste of freedom too, coincidentally. he was proud, antsy to bring home a fish to his parents and throw it on his moms dining table and make a huge damn mess of it.
still, fifteen minutes later, he hadn't even had so much of a bite. he was sitting on the docks railing, fishing rod between his knees and under the edge of the old wood just like his father told him. it was a quiet afternoon, but it would soon be interrupted.
pope heard a dog bark behind him, a big, scary sounding thing followed by the sound of it's paws hitting the ground, and he turned to look just as it reached him at the railing, jumping up next to him and letting out another loud bark in his face which sent little pope screaming and falling off the edge into the shallow water, along with the rod.
just as he was sitting up, groaning with tears in his eyes, he saw a girl leaning over the edge where he was just sitting, big scary dog alongside her watching him as well. valentine would be laughing at him, if he could have been.
"hey, mister, are you okay?" y/n asked him, and then, a beautiful, lifelong friendship was born."
as your now father-in-law finishes recalling the story of how you and his son had first met in his toast, you had been laughing with tears in your eyes. you sat next to your new husband clad in a black suit, holding your hand in his on your lap.
"we were not pleased that pope came home with soaked and dirty clothes that day, but it was the first time of many after he started playing everyday with y/n and valentine." bobby laughed, tears forming in his eyes as well as he turns his eyes to you. "every day we counted our blessings that pope had found you, dear. an loyal friend at seven, a responsible girlfriend at sixteen, and now, our amazing daughter-in-law at twenty three."
pope squeezes your hand and you lean your head on his shoulder, smiling as you dab away the tears in your eyes.
"we love you both so much, and could not be more proud of the adults you've become. watching the two of you grow up together was a gift that we will forever be thankful for."
pope shakes his head with a smile, not trying much to hide his tears as you fan your eyes, looking up and trying not to cry anymore. you remember the story he told so vividly- it was the best day of your life. highly regarded because it was your first taste of independence, and ironically, the same day you met your other half.

Snippet Sunday - Anamnesis: The Pilot
i started writing a new series in the Anamnesis stories. This will be a multi-chapter fic about how Sam became one of the best pilots in the Settled Systems.
i might create a new title graphic, but i haven't decided. i also haven't decided on a title of the story. so far, it's tentatively titled, The Pilot. but, it's a lot more than just about Sam learning to fly.
the first chapter takes place when he's 6 and going off-world for the first time.
for all of my other fics check them out here on ao3.
tagging the coemancer crew, and anyone else that has some art to share.
sneak peek
Sam thought for a moment, then asked, “How does the nav computer know how to do that?”
“You know that planets and moons and stars move, right? They always move the same path. The nav computer has all of that information.”
“But how does it do it?”
His father snorted, “Math, Son. You’d have to ask your mother if you want to know more about calculus. I never had much of a head for science.”
“OK, I will!” and he jumped down off his father’s lap.
“Sam! Sam! I wasn’t finished!” his dad called out as the boy scampered off to find his mother.
He found his mom in the galley putting away food for the trip. “Mom! How does cal… calcluess,” Sam’s mouth twisted as he tried to reproduce the unfamiliar word, “work? Dad said to ask you.”
His mother smiled and ruffled his wavy blond hair, “Did he now?” She laughed. “I think calculus is a bit beyond a six year old, even for one as bright as you. But, maybe I can give you an idea how it works.” Sam sat down at the galley table while his mother grabbed a pad of paper and a pen from the desk in the other hab.
In as simple of terms as possible, she tried to explain how math can predict movement. Sam, wide-eyed as ever, tried to understand what she was saying, but it was just too much for his six-year old brain to take in. This time. His mother saw his frustration and lack of understanding, and gave her son a hug. “It’s OK that you don’t understand. This is really hard math, especially for a six year old. You’ll figure it out later.”
“You mean when I’m eight?” he asked.
His mother nodded and smiled, “Sure, we can try again when you’re eight. You’re smart enough that you might even figure it out before then.”
Just then his father came in, “We’re all set, Grace. You and the boy should get strapped in. We have clearance to leave at any time.”
“Can I sit up with you in the cockpit, Dad?” Sam asked.
“I don’t know…” his dad started, reluctance written all over his face.
“Jacob, come on. It’s Sam’s first time off-world,” his mother coaxed. “How often can someone say that? It should be memorable.”
“It could be dangerous. You never know what’ll happen,” his father replied back.
“Jacob,” his mother said throatily, standing up and walking over to him. She gently touched his arm and smiled softly, “What’s the worst that could happen? He looks up to you so much. It would make him happy.”
Sam’s father looked at him, then looked at his mother, then sighed and smiled, “You know I’ll do anything when you look at me like that. Come on, son,” he beckoned Sam, “you can sit on my lap as we make the jump.”
“Yayyy!!” the little boy shouted as he hopped off the chair and ran back to the cockpit.
“No running on the ship, Sam!” his father reprimanded, which did nothing to slow down the rambunctious six year old.
Grace smiled again at Jacob and kissed him on his cheek. “Thank you. You made him very happy,” she said.
“Anything for you, darlin,” Jacob replied and kissed her. He turned and started to make his way back to the cockpit at a much more leisurely pace than his son. “Sam, don’t touch anything until I get there,” he admonished.
“I won’t!” the little boy shouted back.

Fluffy February Day 9: Storm
SWTOR
Time: 3648 BBY (5 ATC)
~~
All the lights went out in Virtue’s Thief. Everything went dead silent for a second, including, much to Eva’s panic, the life support system. Then the backups kicked on. She sat, terrified, in the pilot’s seat, with the orange glow of the emergency lights.
She’d taken her first nightshift on the Thief, and she broke the ship. Somehow. Ma was going to kill her. Absolutely.
And indeed, Eva heard the second her mom’s boots hit the floor. Shit, she’s up.
Dad wasn’t going to be. He was probably going to sleep through the whole thing, as he did these days. Getting out of bed was a two-man operation, and her mother was already on the way to the cockpit.
Eva turned to Huck, who was riding shotgun in the co-pilot’s seat. “Remember, you’re not allowed to kill me, no matter what she says. I’m only 15. It’s your primary function to ensure I survive –”
“Interruption: to the date of your majority on your chaincode card. Correction: the chaincode card supplied to me by your mother. That is already 21.65 years old. Conclusion: my primary mission of ensuring your survival to the Republic age of majority has already been a success.”
Eva gave him a filthy look that only a foiled teenager could. “You can be a real massive bag of robo-dicks, Huck.”
“Objection! -- ”
Just then, the door hissed open. Athene Corolastor’s red hair was braided tightly to keep the curls under control, and she’d thrown on a thermal top over her sleepwear and put on the socks with the little grips on the bottom that she and Eva squabbled over. “What happened?”
“I don’t know, I swear to the Three Moons.” Eva leaned back the captain’s chair, away from the dashboard. “We were going along fine – and then it all shutdown.”
Athene frowned. “No contacts on the sensors?”
“Not even space junk or an asteroid.” Eva tapped at the nav computer. “We were on the course you plotted before going to bed. Didn’t touch nothing. Just made sure all the green lights stayed green.”
Athene nodded, distractedly. “I think…” she trailed off. She consulted the trajectories she’d charted and the current state of the ship. “We might have nicked the edge of a geomagnetic storm.”
Eva made a face. “How’s that happen?”
“Local sun might be throwing solar winds and agitating the planetary magnetospheres – mostly self-contained, but if things line up, they can get cranky enough to mess with planets that are in the system – or are passing through hyperspace at the time.” Athene rattled off the explanation as if it were nothing. It was needed to know for the business of galactic smuggling; the rest of her education (and Eva’s) was nowhere near as impressive. Athene motioned for Huck to get out of his chair. He immediately acquiesced and disappeared down the hallway.
Eva nodded, as if she understood any of that. “So not my fault?”
“Nope, not at all,” Athene replied, eyes still watching the lights on the dashboard slowly go green again. “You just hope it doesn’t happen in hot pursuit or take you out in a less than friendly territory.”
Eva slumped into the chair in relief. “I thought I broke the ship.”
“Happens to all captains, at some point.” Satisfied that the ship was recalibrating and resetting appropriately, Athene let herself sit down in the co-pilot’s chair. “Just part of learning the ropes. What you can predict… and what you can’t.”
Eva let out a sigh. “Feels like I’m always going to be learning – never a master –”
“Honey, don’t think you’re going to be one of those skypirates from those books,” Athene cut her off before she could whing. “We’re small-time. You’re clocking 1500 hours as if you were some real important pilot that would fly ships that took people places; this is all pretty demanding, for what we are…” Athene shifted in her seat. “But I want you to learn it right. I want you to be ready for anything.”
“Magnetic storms,” Eva gestured out the front viewport.
Athene nodded. “Fires. Hyperdrive failures. Fuel issues… All the things that are going to be yours one day.”
Mother and daughter exchanged smiles. Virtue's Thief was destined to be Eva's, hopefully far, far in the future.
The door chimed and slid open, and in skittered Hylo the cat, unable to bear being separated from Eva a second later.
And then his paw hit something on he way up the dashboard and the ship was plunged into darkness –
“..but I never had a cat on here before. That can be your new problem with the Thief.”
“…can you at least help figure out what he did?”
“…yeah.”

Chapter five: Secret Candy Canes
main masterlist // disney nav // tag list form
notes: Modern AU-ish! They're all around 15-16 in this fic, This is not an X Reader fic!! Likes & Reblogs are appreciated !
chapter 4
chapter 6 ( coming soon )
It's Wednesday, which means two more days until Christmas break. It had also been two days since everything had happened with the flowers and the movies. Still, everything must continue. No one was really doing anything in class, as not even the teachers wanted to be there. Violet and Penny sat next to each other, history killing the both of them.
"Wanna get food after school today?" Penny texted the group chat which had been named Futuristic Four, considering how odd they all were. Wilbur, of course came up with the name. In seconds, each one of them began to reply.
Wil: Sure, let me tell my mom
Hiro: can we go to the burger joint, I want their fries
Vi: but they're so greasy :/
Penalicious: true, but they're also really salty ;)
Vi: ... penny do me a favor and log out for me
Wil: HSAHAHA
Hiro: penny where did that come from :00
Penalicious: I was hacked, sorry guys :(
Vi: mhm.. sure
Vi: I just texted my mom, she said I can go
Penalicious: YES, bless your mothers heart
Wil: I love Helen, she makes good food
Hiro: why don't we just tell her mom to cook
Vi: guys my mom isn't a personal chef, and I don't wanna be home right now
Penalicious: what time does this class end? i'm losing my mind
Wil: in like ten minutes
Wil: history isn't that bad
Hiro: says the one with the time machine
Vi: true
Wil: you like english, you cannot speak on this
Penalicious: he has a point
Vi: wow thanks penny -_-
Hiro: whats wrong with english
Vi: nothing they're just lazy
Penalicious: not true
Penalicious: i read
Vi: bed time stories for TODDLERS don't count
Wil: TODDLERS???
Hiro: penny... why...
Penalicious: okay moving on
Penalicious: where are we going to eat?
Penny noticed Violet asking the teacher for something, it was quiet in the class now that they had an actual assignment to do. Then, Violet walked out. Penny assumed she had to go to the bathroom.
Hiro: Idk, I suggested burger joint but Vi doesn't like the fries
Wil: *sent an image*
Penny tapped on the image, and a picture of Violet came up, standing at the water fountain waiting for her turn. The image was taken from inside Wilbur's class. Then, he sent another. This time Violet was looking at the camera, putting the middle finger up at him. Penny giggled quietly to herself.
Vi: Wilbur I'm shaving all your hair off in your sleep
Wil: WHAT?
Hiro: HAHAHAH SHE WOULD
Penalicious: guys they're selling candy canes
Penalicious: a girl in class is talking about it
Vi: it's supposed to be like a secret santa thing i think
Wil: yeah, I ordered one
Hiro: HUH?? AND YOU DIDN'T TELL US???
Penalicious: OMG FOR WHO :0000
Wil: it's not for you guys to know
Wil: i'll think about it, maybe if I'm in the christmas spirit i'll tell you guys
Vi: guys the water fountain broke :(
Vi: the waters too cold
Hiro: i have an extra water bottle if you want
Vi: yes please, thank you
Violet waited a bit outside by the water fountain, and soon enough Wilbur came out. Violet smiled as he shut the classroom door before walking with her around the halls.
"So, who'd you get a candy cane for?" Violet asked, a smug look on her face. From July to now, the two had been what others would call harmless flirts. Usually the banter would be started by Wilbur, but upon recieving new information, Violet decided otherwise.
"I don't know, I guess we'll just have to wait and see." Wilbur shrugged, turning his nose up playfully. Violet giggled as the two walked around for a bit, just wasting time. It was the last period of the day, which was better since almost everyone was trying to just get the day over with.
"My moms having a dinner for my dad later, if you want you can join us. I'm sure she'd be happy to see you." Wilbur said, knowing that Franny had been dying to see Violet.
"Sure, I'll go. Should I bring a gift?" She asks, and Wilbur shakes his head.
"You don't have too. It's just because one of his inventions finally got approved for mass production, so my mom wants to celebrate." Wilbur said as the two stopped outside of her class.
"That's good for him, since he's up in his lab all the time." Violet says, checking her phone to see Penny spamming her with texts. The bell would be ringing soon.
"Go to class, we have a few minutes left."Violet said, standing up a little more to give him a quick kiss on the cheek. He smiled before taking hold of her hand, kissing over it. It was something he did often, since he had been to nervous to actually kiss her again, at least without asking her.
Violet entered class to see Penny waving a candy cane around. Violet's eyes widened as she took her seat. "You got one?" Violet asked, before Penny shook her head, putting it on Violet's desk.
"No, but you did." She said, poking her. Violet took hold of the candy cane, reading the note attached to it. 'Merry Christmas Violet.' Was all it said, with a small heart next to it. Then, the bell rang, everyone getting up from their seats quickly. Violet and Penny walked out into the hall, talking about the candy cane. Penny said she needed to go to her locker, so Violet followed, the two continuing their conversation.
"Who would send you one? Maybe it was brick? Before he got back with Blossom." Penny said, but Violet shook her head.
"No, I don't think he ever really liked me like that." Violet said, before Penny gasped.
"What about Dipper?" Violet almost let out a laugh. Had she been a more honest, less secretive friend, she would've told her it was Wilbur. But she let Penny have her fun being a detective.
"It could be, but it's been a whole like," Violet stopped to count. They had broken up in May of last year. So, eight months. "Eight months, he wouldn't still try to be with me after that long. At least I hope not." Violet said, before Penny nodded, putting some books in her locker. She did care about Dipper, they had been together for five months, but they both agreed they were better off as friends. To her knowledge, he hasn't had another girlfriend since.
"Eight months of what?"Hiro asked, opening Penny's door to look at himself in the mirror.
"Dipper and Vi." Penny said, not noticing the way Wilbur tensed at the mention of it. He was actually friends with Dipper, until he got with Violet. "We're trying to figure out who got her a candy cane." Penny said, grabbing her gym bag from her locker to take it home for the day. Hiro's eyes widened before trying to cover up his expression,
"Oh, that makes sense. But they broke up a while ago." Hiro said, and Violet nodded. Wilbur shrugged, fixing his bag on his shoulder.
"We can talk about that later. I'm hungry." Wilbur said, and Penny closed her locker, pointing down the hall.
"Then let's go. Have we decided where we're getting food?" Penny asked, and Hiro shrugged.
"I dunno, Vi it's up to you." Hiro said, before Violet thought as they all walked down the hall, making their way out of the school.
"Why don't we get pizza? I'm sure they have fries on the menu somewhere." Violet said, and Penny nodded happily.
"Oh yes, pizza sounds good right now." She said, and Violet laughed. Violet took out her headphones and put one in, before offering the other to Penny, who shook her head as a no, deciding to engage in the conversation Hiro and Wilbur had stirred up. Violet put both headphones in as they walked out of the school, the courtyard filled with students. Violet had looked down, checking to see if her mom had sent her a message, before she saw she had actually gotten a message from her friend Luz.
Luz was in and out during the semesters of the year, and she had decided to go back to her other dimension to spend the winter break there.
Luz: Hey! My friends from the 'other side' wanna meet you! Is that okay? If not I can tell them you aren't feeling up to it.
Luz: Plus, Amity is here ;)
"Hey guys." Violet said, taking one headphone out. They stopped and looked at her, stopping on the side of the courtyard. "I'm gonna meet up with a friend real quick, you guys head to the pizza place, I'll be there soon." Violet said, not really giving them a time to answer. Penny raised a brow as she watched Violet quickly walk through the crowd.
"Is she okay?"Hiro asked, before Wilbur shrugged.
"Maybe we upset her?" Wilbur asked, before Penny shook her head, starting to walk again.
"No, when she's upset she doesn't really say anything. Maybe she just wants to see her friend." Penny said, fixing the strap on her shoulder bag. Hiro huffed, pulling on his own bag straps.
"But when do we not know her friends? Aren't we like the only people she talks too?" Hiro asked, before Penny scoffed.
"Please, Violet actually has a good number of friends. She meets them through art class, and music too." Penny said, and Hiro felt uneasy.
"So I have more competition? Is that what I'm hearing?" He asked, and Wilbur chuckled as they rounded the corner, walking down the street.
"It's only competition if you let them think they have a chance." Wilbur said grinning.
"Violet! You made it!" Luz said happily as she saw Violet walk over quickly, shivering a bit.
"Yeah, I'm going out with friends for pizza in a bit so I thought I would come say bye before you leave." Violet said hugging Luz. She smiled as they pulled away, waving to Amity. She had met Amity before, on the first day of school actually. Amity seemed calm, before she stepped to the side to show everyone else. Violet had also met Eda and King, who she thought were actually very funny.
"Hey kiddo, how's it been?" Eda asked, pulling Violet into a side hug while King hugged her leg.
"It's been alright, confusing." Violet said, and Eda gave a sad smile ruffling her hair.
"You're tough kid, you got whatever your dealing with." Eda said, before looking to Luz who motioned to everyone else.
"Violet, these are my friends! This is Willow and Gus, from school." Luz said, and Willow smiled calmly wile Gus grinned a bit. Willows hair was almost a teal color, and she had large glasses. She was around Luz's height, and she smiled sweetly waving. Gus was on the shorter side, around an inch shorter than Willow. His eyes were big and so was his smile. Amity then moved to the other side of Luz, gesturing to two other people, one with longer green hair, and the other with short green hair. Both were dressed in fur coats and warm gloves.
"These are my siblings, Edric and Emira. They insisted on coming along." Amity said with an eye roll, and Emira just smiled, walking over to Violet.
"You must be Violet. My brothers been very excited to meet you." She winks, and her brother blushes. Violet's eyes go wide and she lets out a nervous laugh.
"Oh, I-I couldn't understand why. But I'm flattered." She said smiling to Edric. This was gonna be a lot of explaining later.

"there you are!" allison ran up behind luther in the hallway. "i've been looking everywhere for you"
"what are you still doing here? i thought you were gone" he turned to look at her in surprise.
"no, i was gonna go and then pogo showed me this-" she tried to explain what she had found but luther cut her off with a shake of his head.
"well, listen.. i was wrong about dad's death"
"what?"
"yeah, i was wrong about y/n, you know, to accuse my own sister of that- it's just-"
"no, no, i get it-"
"seeing all of you and being back here. i-i should be the one who's trying to bring us all back together not tear us apart-"
"would you shut up?"
"what?"
"you were right. about dad. come on, i gotta show you something"
————————————————–
"i can't" eight didn't like crying, especially not in front of her father. he was always cruel, no matter how much the children pleaded and sobbed. she crumpled to the floor, exhausted. she hated training alone, she wanted to train with her siblings outside in the snow, it looked like more fun than this was.
"you are weak, number eight! we will continue until you can get it right" reginald glared down at her. "again!"
she pushed herself up, wobbling. she weakly pushed herself again, trying to make something, anything happen. she squeezed her eyes shut, hands forming fists as she thought hard about what her father wanted. she didn't even know what she was expected to do. to no surprise, nothing happened. reginald sighed heavily, disappointed. he pulled a watch from his pocket before staring down at her as she fell to her knees again.
"you are dismissed, dinner will be in 20 minutes" and she was left alone. reginald disappeared into his office once again. she lay on the floor for a moment, heaving for breath. they had been training for hours, pushing her past her limits. grace and pogo lead her siblings, minus vanya, in through the doors. not wanting them to see her like that she gripped the table behind her, pulling herself up and leaning against it.
"y/n?" ben frowned, stepping over. the others look at her in shock. she shook him off, grumbling about how she was 'fine'. he watched her stumble up the stairs, cringing in pain. her siblings all shared a saddened look.
when they did rush down for dinner, y/n slumped into her chair, dark bags under her eyes. she barely touched her food, pushing it around her plate.
"number eight!" the next thing she knew five was holding her head up and her father was yelling at her. he degraded her, insulted her but she didn't hear a thing. five slowly let go of her, watching her carefully before turning away, back to his meal.
she sat up straighter and actually started to eat the food on her plate, after all, she must train on a full stomach.
————————————————–
y/n and five walked up the stairs of the mansion, feet dragging heavily. as they stepped up they were met with luther and allison.
"five? y/n? what the hell happened to you?" both stayed silent. y/n stared at her feet in a sort of daze. everything was still kind of confusing.
"are you okay?" luther reached out to five, "can we help?" the said boy took him by surprise, hand snapping up and grabbing his fist.
"there's nothing you can do" he spat before his expression saddened, "there's nothing any of you can do.."
y/n looked up, watching as he went. she frowned.
"you alright?" she stared at luther for a moment, grimacing as she remembered what they had last talked about. she kept her mouth shut, brushing past him to her room.
"y/n, wait-"
"just fuck off, luther" she snapped before he could say anything. he should have stayed on that moon.
————————————————–
"number eight" the remaining five siblings with powers stood in a line. it had been a couple weeks since ben's death now. reginald stood in front of them. they had all been told today's training would be different. "step forwards" she did as she was told, standing in front of the others. "you will be using your powers on your siblings today"
her head snapped up at that as did the others. she had never used her powers on them before and they knew what she could do to others. he sent the others all around the house. she was told to find them, sensing where they were with a blindfold on, almost like hide and seek without any of the fun. it was when she had found them all for the seventh time that she sensed something else.
"there are five people in line" she stated, "vanya?"
"wrong" she heard her father scold. "there are only four"
"there's a fifth, i can sense it" she frowned, pulling her blindfold off to see only her four siblings. they all looked confused. "klaus.. is there a ghost? it.. it feels like ben"
"no" he answered far too quickly. ben turned on him from beside him,
"what? klaus! i am here! tell her i'm here!"
"no, he's not"
"klaus! what the hell?! you're so selfish! i am here!" but of course, she never knew that..
————————————————–
"come on, luther, i have to show you" allison tried to pull him away but he continued to stare at where y/n had told him to 'fuck off'. he felt.. guilty.
"but.. what about y/n?" he looked at her. he hated that he upset her, he hated that he had accused her without any actual evidence. she was only a child, just like diego said.
"she's angry, let her cool off. you should apologise but not right now, give her some time" allison offered a soft smile, "that's all she needs, some time. now, come on, this is important"
"i just.. i feel guilty" luther frowned as they walked towards their father's room filled with cameras. "i shouldn't have assumed-"
"she'll understand" allison reassured with a smile.
————————————————–
y/n sat in her corner of the library, reading alone. she was calm, it was her safe place, nobody could bother her here. no training, no arguments, just peace.
"eight.." she looked up from her book at her brother's voice. five.
"what's wrong?" she shuffled over, eyebrows furrowing at the look on his face. he was worried, something five wasn't usually.. or at least he never showed it.
"i.. i want to time travel" he begun softly, taking a seat beside her. she frowned, why was he telling her? "i want to try but dad refused to teach me"
she froze, "you're going to try anyway" she realised. he nodded, now looking up at her.
"i know you think i hate you but i don't" he slowly begun, thinking of the words he was trying to say. "i'm telling you because i think you're the most trustworthy.. and i.." he paused, unsure of how to say what he wanted to. "i think you're the strongest, eight, no matter what our siblings may say"
"five.." she grimaced, "i know we don't talk much but i'll support you if anything happens"
"i do want to talk to you more" he sighed, ashamed for having obeyed his father's stupid rules. "but-"
"no, no. it's not your fault" y/n shook her head. "it's hard to go against him, i understand"
"you're too kind.. you shouldn't forgive people so easily, they'll take advantage of you" five frowned and she laughed.
"i thought i was the strongest, huh?" she nudged his shoulder with her own, finally getting a small smile.
————————————————–
"let me do that" y/n pulled a chair beside five, gently pulling the needle and thread out of his hand. he frowned but let her anyways. "you're antsy" she pointed out, eyeing his bouncing knee. "going somewhere in a rush?"
"i need to go back" he stared out the door, ready to rush out. "i need to find whoever this eye belongs to so that i can stop the apocalypse"
"i know" y/n nodded, eyebrows furrowing in concentration as she finished stitching him up. she gently used a cloth to wipe the blood off his arm before placing a bandaid over it. five stood, pulling his shirt on and buttoning it up.
"can i come?" she watched him stuff dolores into the duffle bag and swing it onto his back.
"no" he barely spared her a glance as he moved towards the window. he climbed out.
"what? why not? come on, five" she leaned out the window, watching him begin to climb down the fire escape.
"i need to do this, y/n, it's important" he looked up at her now. "just wait for me here, i'll come back, okay?"
albeit hurt she nodded, she needed to be understanding. she frowned, moving away from the window, hoping to find something else to do. instead as she walked out of the room she noticed luther.
she quickly moved towards her room, hoping he wouldn't see her. she couldn't deal with anymore fighting right now. to her misfortune he did notice her, following her to her room. she swiftly locked the door as she ducked inside.
"hey.. y/n?" luther stood outside her locked door, hand giving a single knock.
"what do you want?" she hissed back, refusing to open it for him. she didn't need anymore of his accusations.
"i'm.. i'm sorry for accusing you" luther sighed. he had to get this over with, she deserved an apology. "it was wrong and i shouldn't have jumped to conclusions like that"
he heard her cautious footsteps as she made her way to the door. there was pause before she slowly peeked out.
"you mean it..?" she frowned, eyeing his carefully. he nodded.
"i'm sorry. i know you've probably been lonely here, i know what it's like-"
"just shut up" she breathed out a laugh, pulling the door open fully, looking relieved. "no more fighting, please? i just want my family back.." the last part was quiet, vulnerable. luther nodded, smiling back.
"no more fighting" there was a comfortable silence that fell over the two of them before luther spoke again.
"by the way, do you know where five is?"
"yeah, why?" she tilted her head at him, confused.
"we're having a family meeting.. it's about mom. i'm going to get him"
"okay, but i can't guarantee he'll find this as important as you do"

MY GIRLS. | CALUM HOOD
PAIRING: calum hood x blackwoman!oc
WARNINGS: mentions of pregnancy, fluff, shitty/toxic ex boyfriend, mentions of cheating, profanity
SUMMARY: cleo catches calum talking to her daughter about his feelings for her
WORD COUNT: 2.5k
SKYE’S NAV. | CALUM HOOD M.LIST | REQUESTS
cleo has been calum’s best friend since the beginning of the band’s career. cleo and her family had already lived in london when the band moved there, and it just so happened to be in the same neighborhood. it was very cliche, cleo’s mom made the boys food and dragged cleo along to greet them.
cleo didn’t think she’d become friends with them, she especially didn’t think calum would end up as her best friend.
it was ashton’s idea to invite cleo over to their house one day. they tried their best to make her feel comfortable, noticing that she was kind of tense and apathetic while in their presence.
truthfully, she didn’t want to be bothered by anyone that day, having found out some news that brought her mood so far down, but she tried to push through it in front of them.
after a while calum noticed that she’d disappeared without anyone noticing. he searched the house, not having any luck finding her until he finally found her sitting on the back porch sobbing with her phone up to her ear.
calum didn’t ask any questions as to why she was crying or who she was talking to (he later found out that her dad died and she was listening to a few voice mails that he left her), he just sat down beside her and held her until she was calmed, letting out frequent sniffles against his chest. from that day forward, calum promised her that he’d always be someone that she could talk to about anything. he’d be her comfort person if that’s what she needed.
they stayed in touch with her while on tour, even invited her to a few shows when she had a break from school. they were always so humbled, never letting the rise of fame get to their heads.
cleo loved watching calum do what he loves, from writing the music, singing the songs, make the music, she loved watching him love what he was doing. calum would always call her and let her listen to what they were working on, having that much trust in her that she wouldn’t leak anything (she never did).
calum had always told her that he’d do anything for her, and he stuck by that when at 21, she once again came to him crying because her shitty boyfriend knocked her up and left after giving the illusion that he cared and wanted to be there. calum immediately took her in and let her stay at his shared home with ashton.
cleo had moved out to LA for college when the band did but stayed at her own apartment with a roommate. she ended up meeting her boyfriend in college. he was a nice guy at first; very loving, always gave her compliments, made sure she was safe, but after their third year of college started, he began to show his true colors.
cleo’s boyfriend never liked anyone she was around, since she came out to him about her sexuality in their second year, he slowly became controlling. he would try to force her to stay inside, accuse her of cheating if she hugged, looked, or laughed at another person’s jokes, he even tried to break her friendship with the boys (mostly calum).
he hated seeing her smiling around anyone, but when it came to calum, there was a different kind of angry. he’d try to pick fights with calum, publicly grope cleo in front of calum to make him jealous, even shoved his tongue down her throat in front of calum to make him jealous.
the behavior never stopped and it slowly turned toxic. her being accused of cheating, screaming back and forth in each other’s faces, her threatening to leave, his constant apologies, and the make up sex, it was all so exhausting.
calum hated seeing her so upset, seeing or hearing her cry when she calls or facetimes him, or shows up at his house. it was too often that you’d cry over how terrible you were being treated, but he knew it wouldn’t be easy to just up and leave, especially with how much time and effort she put into trying to make her relationship work.
it was an ongoing cycle between the couple, until one day she realized her period was a little too late. she’s wake up and immediately run to the bathroom where she’s empty out her stomach into the toilet, foods that she could normally tolerate made her nauseous, and she’s craving certain foods that she didn’t like that much.
panicky, she jumped in her car and drove to the nearest walmart, getting four pregnancy tests before paying for them and driving back home.
high strung with tears silently flowing down her face, she sat down on the lid of the toilet waiting for the timer on her phone to go off to let her know when she could flip them over.
it felt like years until the results were ready. she turned the timer off and reached out only to freeze up and break down, the heels of her hands digging into her eyes. once she finally just a bit of her composure, she flips them over one by one, the first saying NOT PREGNANT and the last three having the same results, the small digital screen reading PREGNANT. she let out a loud, heavy huff before calling her boyfriend over to talk.
he doesn’t answer the first call, but when cleo calls a second time he answers a little too harshly, “what? i’m doing something.”
“come over, i need to talk to you.”
he lets out a low grunt, “you can’t say whatever it is on the phone?”
she’s narrowing her eyes and stays quiet as she tries to listen closely to hear what he was doing, not really wanting her suspicions to be right. after a few seconds of silence, she answers, “no,” her tone jarring and final, letting him know that there was no room for negotiating. he sighs, covering up the pleasure with fake annoyance to not give himself away. before he could answer, she cuts him off, “i expect you here in at least 20 minutes.” and with that, she hangs up.
it takes him less time than expected to show up, but 15 minutes later he’s knocking at her door. when she lets him in, he smells of sweat and whatever cologne he sprayed himself without before coming, which doesn’t help at all with the thoughts running through her head.
cleo pushes the door closed, a little harder than he had expected her to, before walking to sit on the couch across from the chair he was sitting in.
“what did you need to talk about?” he asks as he watches her fiddle with the hoodie she was wearing. she doesn’t answer immediately, rubbing her hands over her face frustratedly.
“i’m pregnant.” his face crumbles in distaste, staring at her for a little longer than her liking. “if you want to leave, you can. i’ll do this by myself if i have to.” cleo shrugs a shoulder as her face remains emotionless.
“cleo, are you sure you’re pregnant?” he replies after letting out a sigh. “are you just trying to trap me or what is this?”
“no, i’m not fuckin’ trapping you. i just said that you can leave if you want to!” cleo tells him, letting her frustration get the best of her ass her voice begins to rise.
“are you sure it’s not calum’s? with the way you dick ride him so much, i’d be surprised,” he jokes with a chuckle, although they both knew it definitely was not a joke.
“you know what, you can fuck right off! are you bloody mental? why would you ever say that?”
“it was a joke, calm down.” he’s holding his hands out to signify peace, although that’s something she never gets when she’s with him. “it was just a joke. obviously i’m not leaving, you’re having my baby.”
“okay,” cleo rolls her eyes at him before he was making up some shitty excuse as to why he had to leave.
a week later, she finds out that he was the one cheating and blocks him on everything, knowing he wouldn’t care at all because he hasn’t tried communicating since the day they found out she was pregnant. cleo was with calum when she found out she was getting cheated on. she didn’t cry, she didn’t whine, she didn’t care, she was more worried about the baby the was growing that she was getting ready to go see.
she stayed the rest of her last year of college in her shared apartment with her roommate before she eventually moved in with calum and ashton.
her daughter, neveen, was now 4 years old and absolutely loved calum. cleo would always find her playing or watching tv in the living room as she waited for calum to get home. neveen had always thought of calum as her dad because he was the only father figure she had (besides her uncles, but that’s different).
he’d always do father-like things with her; he was there, holding cleo’s hand when neveen was born, he stayed up late to get her to fall asleep when she decided to be stubborn, he helped with night feeds, he woke up in the middle of the night to change her diaper or feed her or soothe her back to sleep, he was there when she was teething, he helped her learn to roll over, crawl, walk, and talk, he fed her her first bite of baby and solid food, he helped potty train her (they’re still working on that), calum was always there and cleo loved him for that.
she was so thankful for him, he didn’t have to step up and be a dad to someone else’s kid but he’s doing it and he’s loving every second of it. watching him take care of her baby as if she was his own sparked something inside of her. every time he walked into the room, she had butterflies in her stomach and a heat-like sensation run through her body. she was happy around him, he was everything she ever wanted in a partner. he cares about not only her but her child too, he treats not only her right but her child too, he protects not only her but her child too. calum just treats the both of them with the upmost love and respect, it’s hard not to fall for him.
neveen was waiting for him get back home so that they could watch the 10 year anniversary livestream. as always, she was waiting on the couch closest to the door watching Super Why when she heard the door nob jingle. her attention immediately turns to the door as she perks up in her seat. she scrambles off of the couch as quickly as a 4 year old could and runs to the door just as it opens. she remembers not to stand right in front of it, only a few feet away as she jumps with excitement, her beautiful brown curls matching her movements. calum already knows she’s right there, smiling once he catches sight of her.
calum let’s out a dramatic gasp once the door is completely open, opening his arms for the tiny, giggling 4 year old to run into them. neveen wraps her arms around his neck as calum picks her up off of the ground, pressing kisses after kisses onto her cheek. he turns around and notices cleo leaning against the wall with her phone out.
“are you filming this?” calum asks with the same bright grin on his face. “send it to me.”
as they’re watching the livestream, neveen’s very vocal on what she thought of it all. she laughed at the commercials and how funny luke looked with his “fluffy hair” and dress, how silly she thought calum looked in the 5sauce skit. she loved the Roast Interviewer, and the live performances, especially 2011.
at the end of the livestream, cleo picks up the three empty bags of chips and goes into the kitchen to throw them away.
“bubba, why wearing a skirt?” she asks. she was still learning how to form full sentences but they knew what she meant.
“i like wearing skirts. do i look good?” she didn’t mean to, but cleo found herself eavesdropping on their little conversation while making neveen’s lunch.
“mhm. my mommy has skirts.”
“i know, she looks very pretty in them, too.”
“bubba, you kiss mommy too?” neveen asks out of no where, probably remembering something from a few days ago. cleo suddenly stops what she’s doing, this time with the intentions of listening to their conversation.
“no, i don’t kiss mommy. where’d you get that from?”
“on the tv mommies and daddies kiss, but not bubba and mommy,” neveen points out, not really knowing how to get her thought out since she can’t really talk that well yet.
“yeah,” calum pauses, looking down at the little girl that takes up a big piece of his heart, “bubba would like to kiss mommy, but mommy might not like that.” cleo’s heart begins to beat so hard that she can hear it, she’s fighting to keep the grin off of her face.
“why not?”
“because she might not like bubba the way that i like her,” calum tells her, not explaining anymore because he is talking to a 4 year old.
“why not?”
“i don’t know, mama,” calum chuckles at her multiple questions, “i’ll ask her if you can color better than me.”
“okay!” neveen beams, excitement seeping through her at the thought of coloring with calum. she was about to run upstairs just as cleo got done making her lunch and called her into the kitchen to eat. calum walks behind her as she runs into the kitchen, only to be stopped and pushed out by cleo. before he could register what was happening, cleo’s soft, glossy lips were on his. subconsciously, he places his hands on her waist and kisses her back just as eagerly, knowing that she heard the whole conversation.
after a few seconds, the two of them pull back for air, her hands still resting on the his prickly cheeks while his are gripping her waist.
a smile creeps onto their lips as they stand with their forehead’s pressed together. after a long period of silence, cleo asks, “what are you doing tomorrow?”
it takes him a few seconds to get his thoughts together, “um, nothing.”
“good,” she replies as she pulls her head away and drags her hands down his neck and resting them on his chest, “we’re gonna have a little family picnic tomorrow after picking neveen up from school.”
calum chuckles, pulling her closer by her waist, “already planning dates, huh? a family date?”
“of course. have to make sure my daughter fancy’s you,” cleo teases, shrugging her shoulder as calum’s mouth drops.
“i think she likes me just fine!”
“yeah, yeah, whatever,” cleo rolls her eyes as she grabs a hold of calum’s hand and drags him into the kitchen to sit with their little love.

Stressful streaming [Corpse x reader]
Paring: Corpse husband x Female!reader
Summary: “What if y/n isnt a good gamer (they do something else on yt and never really got into it) so they just really suck at being the imposter? And everyone is trying to make them feel better but they feel super crappy about ruining the game for everyone- especially when they get paired up with corpse?” Requested by anon
“can I request something where y/n and corpse are dating, she is the group's baby and everytime she kills everyone's like 'yeah, that's cute bUT YOUR BOYFRIEND THO'.” Requested by anon
Warnings: Idk, this took a complete 180 midway through, and even idk what’s going on anymore. Fluff? Comfort? Cuddles???
Words: 2k
A/N: Open for requests. And a two for one, you know me at this point.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
The two of you had been living together for quite a while now. And you had been public about your relationship for a long time, had it been up to either of you, nobody still wouldn’t know. But it’s definitely better on both of your nerves not having to tiptoe around each other when you recorded, or he streamed.
You really enjoy books, so that’s what you naturally made the topic of your YouTube channel, book reviews. You had always recorded yourself reading and made it into a time-lapse after, it was when easier now that you didn’t have to worry if Corpse said anything and you looked up to answer him. You weren’t really into gaming so it surprised you a lot when Corpse had sat you down yesterday and asked if you wanted join them in the game today. The other had been bugging him to get you on call for longer than just saying a quick hi and then leaving him again. You weren’t much of a people person, honestly neither of you were. But Corpse was still better at interacting with others. Both of your setups was already in the studio, due to you liking edit your videos when he streamed, so you could still be together. Despite you mostly reading whenever he streamed, because then there wasn’t a chance he accidentally got caught on your camera.
Your routines worked for each other, but this was new territory for you. Both being live and gaming. You were nervous. To put it out there you were straight up shaking of nerves. Sure you wouldn’t be live yourself, and it was just among us, you had seem him play it a million times, but it still scared you what if you said something stupid, or did something stupid. Then you wouldn’t be able to cut it out, everyone would know in an instant.
Corpse greet his stream, as you load up your game, you’re fiddling with the hem of his sweater, makes him feel like he’s closer than the short distance that’s between you, because right now he seemed like an ocean away.
He shows you how to join the call and you accidentally squeak in chock as someone yells into their microphone. You can feel Corpse moving beside you, as he tries his best not to laugh at you.
“Shut up.” You mumble, and lightly shoves his shoulder.
“Me?” A guy with an irish accent asks.
“No! Not you, I’m so sorry that wasn’t to you- Corpse stop laughing at me!” You cut your own sentence off. As he now is completely failing at keeping himself from laughing, inviting everyone and their mom to listen to his beautiful laugh. You sulk for a bit, before he composes himself.
“But you’re just so damn cute.” He pets the top of your head, and walks back to his own setup, where chat is going rocket speed. He tries to read a couple in passing, but he turns his attention back to you when you whine.
“I’m not a child!” you pout at him and sticks out your tongue. A smile right on your lips as he copies you. You just love this man with all of your heart.
“Never said you were.” He teases back, before he starts to greet the people in the call. You realise most of your nerves have disappeared, no longer shaking, you’re getting a bit excited to do this. You listen closely when corpse says the name of each of the people in the call. You only knew the names before joining, but not what voice that belonged to whom.
When you’re finally in the game, Corpse suggests you put on the white skin and a flower. Your reply?
You lean close to the microphone and goes. “No.” And picks the yellow skin with the plant hat, declaring you’re now a citrus fruit.
“Corpse, how in the world did you catch someone like her?” you think her name was Rae asked.
“I didn’t she caught me.” He admits, happily. “Still having trouble believing she chose me.”
Earning an awe from the rest of the call. Two lovebirds.
“Simp!” someone yells in the call, you’re not really sure who, in the sea of mixed noises. Earning a laugh from you.
Crewmate flash across your screen, and you didn’t totally mean to peak, but you saw the red flash from his pc. As the game starts up and your character isn’t moving you realise you don’t know what you’re doing. Corpse realises too when his character starts to circle yours and nothing happens.
“Babe you good there?” He looks over at you, as you’re pressing each key on your keyboard testing out what happens. He chuckles at the sight. “let me help you.” He gets up, and leans over you, as he shows you how to move. His own character standing still, as he helps you around the map and shows you how to do the tasks. You happily let him guide your hands, enjoying the warmth he radiates as he stands near you.
That’s when a warning flash over the screen. Emergency meeting. You think it said. A screen with a portrait of all of your characters comes up.
“Corpse you good there, you haven’t moved all game?” Felix asks.
“Oh, sorry, I was helping Y/N with how to play.” Corpse answers over your mic.
“Hey guys, how do I make my name red like Corpses?” you innocently ask, with a gleam in your eyes as you look up at Corpse knowing damn well why his name is red. He’s the bad guy.
Corpse furrows his eyebrows at you. Glaring at you, as the rest of the call is laughing, it doesn’t take long before his astronaut is floating across the screen ejected into outer space. He leans close to you, making sure to mute your microphone first.
“You sure you want to play like this kitten?” He whispers to you, you respond by smacking his shoulder, and once again telling him to shut up.
Corpse helps you through the rest of the game. He makes sure you’re good before walking back to his own chair and greets his chat, finally paying attention back to them. Another game starts and the two of you are imposters together. Corpse quickly goes over the rules of impostors, and it doesn’t take long before you have made your first kill, not noticing Sean was in Nav together with Rae. But before he’s able to report it,Corpse comes to your rescue by venting into the room and killing Sean. The relief is short lived as Felix comes running into Nav and see the two of you standing over Seans body, quickly reporting.
“Y/N you’re doing good, but you need to press the report button when it comes visible.” Felix starts out. “Also, it’s Corpse, there was a body in Nav, Sean. Wait Rae and Mark is dead too.” You smile to yourself as you realise he didn’t discover Raes body in there too, you feel a bit of pride.
Corpse looks over to you grinning at him. “We walked in together I was showing her where the report button is and how to use it.” Corpse defends himself. “She never found a body in the last game.”
“That’s true.” You choose to ignore he fact you’re lying to these strangers, and tell yourself that you’re technically speaking the truth. You never found a body in the last game.
“I’m sus of you Corpse, but we have no other evidence.” Felix says,
“And we shouldn’t vote on 7.” Toast comments. Everyone votes skip, and the two of you live to see another round.
The next kill is by Corpse, and you immediately report it, stating you found it in… what was that room now called?
“We found it in… that room?” You try and look over at Corpse for help.
“Electrical, headed there for wires.” Corpse quickly takes over to cover for you. Knowing full well the rest very much knows it’s the two of you.
“I think it’s a self-report, Y/N you’re trying out some big brain strats, but I saw you vent from med bay.” Toast tells the rest. You curse underneath your breath; you are starting to catch on the rest are trying to be nice. But you get it, you’re ruining the game for them, especially Corpse. A few seconds passes as everyone votes and your astronaut is sent into the vacuum of space. You sigh. You watch as Corpse, gets one kill before it gets reported.
“What was everyone’s last task?” Grease asks the group. He gets an array of answers, but all to him seems nowhere near the body.
“I’m still sus of you Corpse.” Felix says, “You either failed card swipe twice, or forgot you already faked it.”
“How could it have been me? I was with you the entire time.” Corpse responds.
“That’s not true, when lights went out I couldn’t find you, and we just split up before I found the body now.” Felix tells the other incriminating Corpse. It doesn’t take long before he gets voted off. He looks a bit annoyed at the outcome. Knowing it was a risky kill. But instead in your mind you take it as he’s annoyed you were his partner. You reach out for his hand, and he takes it, you stroke it a few times and he seems to calm down again.
“It’s been fun you guys, but I’m not really good at this, I think I’m going to get back to do some reading. It was fun though.” You announce to the rest, Corpse watching in confusion over the sudden need to leave. The others bid their goodbyes. You get off the discord call. And closes up the game and shuts off your pc.
“Hey chat, I’ll be right back, I’m taking a quick break before we continue.” Corpse mutes his setup and walks over to you. While doing that you’ve frustratedly put your head in your hands, and is onboard the blame train for ruining the game for the others. Corpse wraps his arms around you and brings you right back to reality and where you belong, in his embrace.
“Babe, are you okay? Do you need me to stop the stream?” He carefully asks.
“I’m sorry I ruined your game. I really tried my best, I promise.” You sigh, looking at him, and leaning into his hug and the warmth.
“You didn’t ruin anything, Y/N. You made it better, I had a fun time with you, even if we weren’t the best pair.” Corpse starts peppering you in kisses alround your face until you start giggling.
“There is my beautiful Y/N.” He smiles at you, he knows he’s so whipped, and he wouldn’t give it up for anything in the world when he sees that smile of yours.
“Thank you.” You mumble as you put your neck into his neck, cuddling up against him. “Can I stay for the rest of your stream?” He doesn’t need to answer, he just sits back down in his own chair, and you automatically and easily, swing a leg over him. You cuddle into his chest and listens as he starts talking to his chat again.
“Y/N says thanks for everything, but this is really out of her comfort zone, and I’m proud of her for having done it.” He praises you to the rest of the world. He looks down at you smiling. He mute his mic as he whisper to you. “You’re still my favourite impostor, kitten.” You giggle, and he turns his attention back to the game. Getting ready to be a crewmate.

hot water hit your face as you let out a sigh, your thighs were sore along with your sex and ass from sitting on the edge of the washing machine. letting the water run down your body and closing your eyes. missing how Eddie's hands roamed your body like he owned you, his kisses and the way he felt, and how he made you feel.
"Did your mom tell you what she planned for graduation?" Chrissy asked, the smell of nail polish burned your nose as she open the small red bottle. she stayed sitting on the lid of the toilet while painting her toes, you grabbed your body wash and your loofah.
"no, said it's a surprise for you and me, I've been trying to get it out of her all damn week" you sighed, washing your body and breathing in the soothing strawberry fragrance. Chrissy laughed and cussed under her breath as she got the polish on her skin.
"you said you were in the bathroom but I checked there at least once and you weren't there," Chrissy said, your stomach dropped as you scrubbed your body. thinking of what to say, Eddie didn't want to walk out with you so you assume he didn't want people knowing so maybe you shouldn't just come clean.
"I was in there then after a bit someone knocked on the door so I just went outside for a while till they left then went back in." you lied on the spot, stuttering in some parts and it made you close your eyes in annoyance. the soap suds rolled down your body and then into the drain.
"mkay was just worried y'know normally I find you on the couch talking Patrick, actually I think you two would be a cute couple. Jason tells him all the time that you two would be perfect-" Chrissy started to ramble then you cut her off.
"I'm not going on a date with Patrick, we're just friends and we are not into each other like that-like at all. he's the only other friend I have besides you and Lucas and I am not going to ruin that. plus half the guys I even put any interest in I ignore and pretend I have no clue who they are" you snapped with a huff.
"Jason's your friend," Chrissy said softly, you rolled your eyes. you didn't want Jason to be your friend hell he would probably list you as one of the "freaks" if you and Chrissy weren't friends but you sure as hell weren't going to let him ruin your friendship with her.
"speaking of Jason, he was acting super weird, kept looking in the hallway for some reason" she added with a sigh, twisting the top onto the nail polish and then fanning her freshly painted toes.
you smiled as you scrubbed your body once more, "I know why he was acting weird" you said playfully, you knew something was weird with Eddie being there and now hearing that Jason was acting weird made you laugh, it would be funny seeing Jason getting his day ruined just because Eddie was there.
"what? what do you know?" Chrissy asked, you knew there was a smile on her face. Chrissy did love hearing gossip, of course, she'd never spread a rumor but she did like hearing them and talking about them with you.
"Eddie Munson, that's why he was acting weird, Eddie was at the party," you said, letting the water rinse the soap from your skin.
"what, really?" Chrissy gasped, you hear her looking through some baskets on the tiny shelf you had, probably looking for a new nail polish color.
"yep really, I was surprised to even see him there," you said, turning off the water and feeling the air become chilly then reaching out and grabbing your towel. patting your arms dry and legs then wrapping it around your torso.
Chrissy now sat on the counter next to the sink, waiting for you with pink nail polish in her hand. "Jason is so mean to him but Eddie scares me a bit" Chrissy admitted as you stepped out of the shower.
your brows furrowed, "have you even ever talked to him before?" you asked and crossed your arms and popped your hip out a little bit.
"Have you?" Chrissy asked defensively, raising a brow then handed your toothbrush to you, already with toothpaste on it. you walked to the sink.
"Sometimes, not much but every interaction was pleasant," you said, running your toothbrush under the tap and then putting it into your mouth.
"but didn't you listen to what Jason said?" she asked, pouting as you looked at her with a knowing look and then spat out toothpaste.
"When have I ever listened to anything Jason says" you sighed, sticking the toothbrush back into your mouth and brushing before spitting again. rinsing off your toothbrush and then putting it back into its holder. you looked at Chrissy and waited for her answer.
"like how he's a devil worshiper or what about those poor animals?" Chrissy whined as she followed you out of the bathroom, you grabbed your dirty clothes on the way out and headed to the laundry room.
"you don't actually believe that shit do you Chrissy?" you groaned, tossing your clothes into the washer and setting it for the wash cycle. "I highly doubt he's wandering off into the woods, gutting animals and bathing in their blood or some shit, drugs most likely but not that" you added and made your way with Chrissy following to your bedroom.
Chrissy sat on your bed, resting the nail polish against her foot. you got out new clothes, slipped on new underwear then grabbed a pair of shorts and a long t-shirt.
"you're right, I shouldn't be so closed-minded. I shouldn't listen to everything Jason says." Chrissy said as she carefully painted her nails. you grabbed the nail polish bottle and sat down and held it for her.
you laughed and shook your head a bit, "I've been telling you that for two years" you quipped, watching Chrissy laugh as she painted her nails a soft pink color. she handed you the brush to paint her left hand while she took the bottle.
"why would Jason even say something like that?" Chrissy asked, her voice soft. you looked up from her nails and into her eyes, tilting your head a bit.
"Because Chrissy, Jason is a complete and utter asshole to literally everyone that's not on a sports team or in his circle of friends. you think he'd even try to talk to me if we weren't friends?" you said gesturing between the both of you. Chrissy moved her mouth to the side then into a pout.
"and Jason goes for Eddie because he's everything Jason hates but instead of just ignoring him or sitting and taking it with his head hung low, Eddie says shit back and i think that's why Jason tries to get everyone on his side about Eddie because he feels insecure about being talked back to" you added, finally speaking your mind about her boyfriend to her. you back to painting her nails, making sure to coat them evenly and not get any on her skin.
"i think you're right, maybe i should talk to him about it" Chrissy sighed, you nodded in agreement. you could tell the topic was making her a little upset so you didn't press on anymore even though you most definitely could, like how he does it when she's not around so he seems like a golden boy in her eyes and when he did do something of the sorts it was toned down so much she couldn't even pick up that he was being mean.
you blew on her nails and twisted on the top of the nail polish and leaned over to sit it on your nightstand then coming back and blowing on them some more.
"need pjs?" you asked, Chrissy nodded and moved her hands up and down to catch some wind as you got up and went to the little basket she had made herself one day over the summer. grabbing her clothes and tossing them onto your bed. Chrissy got up and moved by your desk as you started to get your bed ready.
moving pillows over to Chrissy's side and untucking your blankets. Chrissy rubbed her eyes as she walked back over to your bed, yawning as she crawled to her spot, the same spot she had slept since you two were in middle school. you got into your spot and clicked off your lamp.
you and Chrissy talked with your backs facing each other, giggling at little memories and talking about the upcoming spring break, being excited for no school or cheer practice til like two days before you guys come back before spring break but there was still a couple more weeks of school til then.
you could tell Chrissy fell asleep by her stillness in the bed, plus she was snoring. your mind wandered but it kept coming back to the same thing, Eddie. how he would rather walk out alone than with you or how quickly he got rid of you. maybe he didn't want the drama of leaving together but you wouldn't have cared about the drama, to be honest, you didn't care about half of the people there so maybe he thought he was doing you a favor.
if Jason or andy saw you two god only knows what they would do but at the same time you didn't care what they thought, but you didn't want something to happen to Eddie or have the bullying get worse for him, almost everyone called him "the freak" anyways. hearing him be called that reminded you of the "zombie boy" from a couple of years ago. everyone talked about it when he was found.
a part of you feels hurt by the lack of aftercare, well he did clean you up so maybe that was supposed to be enough but when Chrissy talks about what she and Jason do after and it was nothing like that, yes he helps clean her up but then they cuddle or talk or watch a movie, just something sweet. maybe it was because they were in a relationship and not just fucking in a laundry room but still you expected something even if it was you making the first move towards it. god you felt dumb for even being about to ask if he wanted to go to the damn diner, glad you didn't say anything about it after he said he could wait or you would've felt so embarrassed.
groaning quietly into your pillow as you tried to shake the thoughts from your mind but it didn't help. maybe Eddie just fucked you as a big fuck you to Jason and his friends, to rub it in that he got intimate with a person within the circle. then your stomach bloomed into butterflies thinking about how he told you, you were beautiful.
your eyes felt heavy, you didn't fight sleep anymore and let it take you peacefully.
-
when you woke up you could feel Chrissy's leg over top of yours, her ankle digging into you harshly as you tried to move her leg over gently. you could hear your mom in the kitchen talking to your dad and the birds chirping. looking over at your clock and seeing it was around 10 AM, you turned over and gently nudged Chrissy.
Chrissy groaned and tried not to open her eyes but you could tell she was up and the light coming in from your window was making it harder for her to even try to go back to sleep. her eyes finally fluttered open and she sat up and stretched.
"gotta pee" Chrissy groaned and climbed over you as you laughed, watching her sleepy figure leave the room without even closing your door and then hearing your mom and dad greet her as she passed them to the bathroom.
you got up with a yawn then walked out of your room and into the laundry room to put your clothes into the dryer. luckily they didn't smell like weed anymore and instead smelt like fabric softener. you turned the dryer on and then walked to the kitchen, your mom was leaning over the counter with a magazine and a cup of coffee as your dad was in the living room watching tv.
you cringed at the thought of him even being in the house, you would rather him say at his office kissing his mistress' ass because you know damn well he never stopped seeing her after your mom caught him red-handed, god it made you disgusted, how he begged that night for her forgiveness and to let him stay with his family. fucking disgusting. you could tell your dad noticed your distaste for him ever since, trying to make it up to you over and over, and of course, you took any money he tried to give you or how he loosened up on rules tremendously.
grabbing orange juice from the fridge and pouring it into a glass.
"did you have fun?" your mom asked, flipping a page in her magazine.
"yeah, we just went to Jason's and hung out with everyone" you lied, downing the last bit of OJ in your cup and then putting it into the sink.
"Jason's a sweet boy" she commented, you knew where she was going and you rolled your eyes. she was about to start the "Jason's a sweet boy, you need to find someone like Jason" shit, which was far from the truth and made you wanna gag just thinking about it. plus you think she only said this stuff because she and your dad were high school sweethearts.
"yeah, yeah, yeah," you said brushing her off which made her laugh a bit, you walked back to your room to see Chrissy changing and grabbing her things.
"leaving so soon?" you asked with a pout, plopping down on your bed as she smiled but nodded sadly.
"mom needs me to try on a couple of things and jason was gonna pick me up around four" chrissy said, putting on her socks and shoes. it was always so weird when chrissy had to go home, it made you sad but you still liked your alone time.
"need me to drive you?" you asked, sitting up and tilting your head at her like a puppy.
"sure! i need to tell my mom though" she said, you gestured to the phone on your nightstand and chrissy hurried to it. dialing her house number and then putting it to her ear, her nails tapping on the wood of your nightstand as she waited for her mom to pick up.
you got up and looked through your drawers for clothes to wear, you settled on a pair of shorts and an old t-shirt, something simple and easy since you were just dropping her off then probably going to family video to rent a horror movie and to get something to eat.
"hi mom, y/n said she could give me a ride home so you don't have to pick me up. yeah ill be right home, she's getting dressed right now, mhm bye" Chrissy said then hung up quickly, running her hands down her face with a sigh.
you slipped on your shoes and grabbed your bag, Chrissy followed you out of your room. both of you said bye to your mom as you walked past and did not bother to say anything to your dad as you two walked out the door.
the ride to Chrissy's was fun, she turned up the radio and it just so happened to be both of your favorite song. both of you now singing along and dancing, passing by some annoying drivers, and also seeing Dustin on his bike.
pulling into Chrissy's driveway and turning down the music and then leaning your head back on the headrest with a dramatic pout on your face, basically begging her not to go as she gathered her things.
"ill see you Monday" Chrissy sighed, leaning over and giving you a hug, you sighed and whined.
"see you Monday, ill be here at 6:40," you said and sat upright in your seat. Chrissy nodded and got out of your car and walked sadly to her house. her mom came to the door when she heard her come in, coming out a little to wave at you, and of course, you waved back before backing out.
family video was now your destination, your mind went back to Dustin thinking about how much he's grown over the years. you had babysat him twice a couple of years ago when the Byers boy went missing. now Dustin was a freshman almost sophomore, that was also in hellfire— you shook your head, knowing exactly where it was going...it was going back to Eddie.
your thoughts just kept going and going instead of stopping, god what if Eddie was laughing it up with his club about it? but Lucas was in hellfire and if he knew he'd tell Jason— what were you even thinking, you didn't give two shits if Jason knew or not. plus Lucas was your friend and if you kept a secret for him, he should be able to keep on for you but it shouldn't even be a secret because you didn't care if the whole basketball team knew...or did you? holy fuck why was this so god damn confusing.
a loud crash took you out of your thoughts and made you hit your brakes fast, you furrowed your brows and stuck your head out of your window.
"Henderson!? are you alright?" you yelled, Dustin got himself up off the ground, the trash cans that he had run into were scattered on the sidewalk.
you looked around to see the street was empty, you got out and went over to help him up. Dustin laughed a bit as you helped him and kept repeating he was alright.
"you are completely sure you're alright, i don't think crashing into a bunch of trash bins would be the most pleasant," you questioned him and dusted him off like he was a little kid.
"yeah, I'm fine! trying to read a comic and biking is not a good idea I guess" Dustin said, you took a deep breath as you studied his hellfire shirt, an instant reminder of Eddie.
you laughed and bent down to pick up his bike, "where were you going?" you asked. Dustin bent down to help get his bike up them grabbed his comic that was a little torn up from the fall.
"family video" Dustin replied, looking through the comic to make sure no pages were torn out.
"Oh, me too, I can give you a ride," you said, a little surprised that he was going to the same place you were but that wasn't out of the ordinary.
you watched his brows furrow as he came across a page that was pretty badly torn.
"is it that bad?" you asked, taking him out of the little saddened trance he was in.
"it wouldn't be bad if the comic was actually mine" Dustin groaned, he pinched his nose with another groan.
"whos is it? I'm sure they won't be mad it's not like you meant to do it" you said trying to comfort him for the time being.
"it's Eddie's," Dustin said. holy fuck why the fuck does everything go back to Eddie, you took in a deep breath. you felt bad for Dustin, he seemed very upset about it.
"There's a book place beside family video, you think they would sell the same copy?" you asked, Dustin nodded and you smiled and stood up.
"well let's go, I was on my way to family video anyways," you said, grabbing the handlebars on his bike and guiding it to your car. Dustin followed after you.
"I don't really have any money" Dustin admitted, his hands going into his pockets one by one showing you he had no money. you laughed as you got his bike into your backseat.
"Don't worry about it, I owe you anyways" you said then looked at him, he had a confused look.
you smirked, "when I babysat you that one time and you let me have my friend over even though your mom told me not to," you said, trying to get him to remember and the look of realization made you bust out laughing.
Dustin put his hands on his hips, "right, you do owe me" he said as you closed the car door. you shook your head and laughed even more.
"get the hell in Henderson," you said, Dustin nodded and jogged to the passenger side as you got in the driver's side.

Morpheus and Death approached the footman that stood guard in front of the doorway to the Bridgerton’s manor.
“My Lord, my Lady.” The footman extended a hand into the wide hall, motioning for them to enter. “Enjoy your night.”
Lady Death nodded her head with a polite smile whilst Morpheus nodded once.
“You ought to get some manners.” Death whispered harshly under her breath, the annoyance of their discussion a few days before still plaguing her with annoyance.
Morpheus resisted rolling his eyes at his sister. “You ought to get over yourself.”
“Lord Morpheus! Lady Death! I’m so glad you could make it!” Daphne approached them gleefully, reaching out to embrace the woman before her. Morpheus stepped back a little, hoping she wouldn’t want to embrace him too.
“It is lovely to see you, Lady Daphne. I hope we aren’t late.” Death greeted her with a question.
“Oh, of course not! You’re both just on time!”
Daphne led them to the dining room, motioning to the two vacant seats across from one another.
Death quickly took the seat next to Kate, leaving Morpheus with the empty seat next to you.
Morpheus gave his sister a subtle glare as he sat down.
“Hello.” He heard a small voice next to him. He turned to see you sat looking at him, your face flushed.
“Hello,” Morpheus returned the greeting equally as silent.
You turned your gaze back to your empty plate.
Anthony raised his glass, tapping it to get everyone’s attention. “I’m thankful to all of you for accepting this invitation to dine with us tonight. Now that everyone is here, shall we tuck in?”
The night was filled with laughter and jokes, everyone told stories of their childhood and other parts of their past, or how they had met their now lovers.
“I remember when Benedict was a child, he never had any friends because he was too immersed in his art.” Violet laughed delightedly at the memory as Benedict covered his face in embarrassment, laughing along with her.
Death perked up at this, recalling a memory of hers that was similar. “Hmm, that reminds me a lot of Morpheus.”
The Lord looked up at the mention of his name.
“He never had any friends either, he always had his nose stuck in a romance novel.” Death laughed at this, but Morpheus didn’t find her very funny.
Simon’s brow raised in surprise, which Death took notice of.
“A stark contrast to now, isn’t it? He’s always going on about how he doesn’t want to find love and other nonsense.”
“Death,” Morpheus warned her. “You’re drunk.”
Death shook her head. “Maybe I am brother, but that doesn’t mean I’m not telling the truth!”
“Sister, that is enough.”
“You can’t be alone forever, Morpheus. I’ve tried to get you out of your bubble, but you’re not willing to accept help.”
Morpheus looked at her through narrowed eyes. Everyone looked between the two anxiously.
“Dream,” She pleaded. “Not everyone is like mother and father.”
“I know that.” His voice cracked as he spoke, his eyes turned glassy.
“But do you truly?”
Dreams' gaze turned almost hateful. “Yes, I do.”
He slammed his hands on the table and left the dining room, stepping out onto the large land the Bridgerton’s owned.
You looked after him worriedly as everyone recollected themselves. “Excuse me.” You said, following after Morpheus.

"No, Mom, I'm just not sure about this one. I feel like it's just not me," Mason said, tugging at the top of the thirteenth white dress she had tried on that day.
"Honey, it's gorgeous, but this isn't about what I think anyways. Get whatever one calls your name," her mom, Catherine, replied from the couch behind her, catching her eye in the mirror.
"I'm so tired, let's call it a day and come back another time," Mason insisted, turning to face her mom and her best friend.
"Mase, this is the fourth designer we've met with. And every last dress you've tried on has been amazing," Este said. "Just don't forget, they can change anything you want."
Mason let out a sigh as she turned again to face the mirror. "Yes, dear, what don't you like about this one?" the designer asked, fiddling with the train.
"Well, nothing in particular. The neckline feels off... and the bodice, I don't like where it sits on the waist."
"Then that's a no. Just try one more, dear. Try this one!" Her mom grinned, putting her champagne glass on the table, grabbing the designer's 2024 portfolio, and pointing to the dress on the cover.
"Okay, yeah, let's try that one," Mason agreed, nodding, stepping off the pedestal, and lifting the mass amounts of the dress's fabric with the help of the designer's assistants.
With their help, she went back into the changing room, removed the billowing dress, and sat down with her phone as the assistant took the one-of-a-kind wedding dress away. Mason was met with no less than one hundred notifications on her phone, texts from friends and colleagues, and her agent had called no less than three times even though she was technically on vacation. The only thing she was interested in was calling Drew. She opened his contact and hit call, his name lighting up the screen as she put it on speaker, then opened Twitter while she waited for him to answer.
"Hey, my love, how's dress shopping?" Drew's voice echoed through the small speakers as Mason scrolled through endless photos of the crowd forming outside the studio she was currently in, and some pictures in the windows that they thought were fully closed were already making headlines.
"You know I can't tell you that," she laughed slightly, shaking her head.
"Sure you can, I just can't see it. Find the one?"
"Nope," she shook her head, despite him not being able to see her. "I'm trying on one more, then we're calling it a day."
Mason heard some shuffling and laughter in the background on his end as he spoke. "You're real picky about this one, huh? You were less particular at last year's Met."
"Is that Mason?" he was interrupted by a voice she instantly recognized as Madelyn. "Hi, Mason! We miss you!" she shouted into the phone, making her friend smile.
"Hi, Mads! Hey, can I fly out to see you guys in the morning?" Mason replied, chewing on her lip a little and standing as the curtain slid open and the assistant returned with the last dress.
"Yeah, of course. I'll call Amanda and get her to book your flights for you. Does Este want to come?"
"Duh," Mason giggled, putting down her phone and raising her arms so the young girl could slide the dress on. She couldn't help but notice her hands shaking, just slightly. "I've got to go, love, I'll see you tomorrow, okay?"
"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow," Drew agreed. "Love you!" he said before he hung up the phone.
The dress was now settling over her shoulders as the nervous assistant clipped the back. "Are you alright?" Mason asked, turning her head slightly to try and get a glimpse at the girl.
"Yes, ma'am," she said softly, her voice slightly shaking.
"You don't have to call me that," Mason chuckled and shook her head, holding up her hair.
"I do, my boss insists on it with all her clients."
"What's your name?" Mason smiled as she asked, trying to get the girl to relax.
"It's Melissa. I don't want to be weird, but I'm a big fan of yours and I've always wanted to design something for you. I'm a student still, but your Met looks are always my favorite," she rambled on nervously.
Mason's smile grew at this. "Aw, thank you, Melissa. I'd be honored to wear your work someday."
Melissa blushed. "Thank you, that means a lot to me," she finished tying up the back and took a step back, picking up the train and fluffing it out. "While my boss isn't here, can I make a suggestion?"
"Of course," Mason replied. "You don't like this one?"
"No! No, I love it, it's stunning. I just think maybe it would suit your style more if we extended the train, then brought down the waistline just a little bit, and maybe did a bunch back here above the hips, then coated the whole thing in silver Swarovski diamonds. It will just scream Mason more, you know?" she said, trying to explain the vision as best she could as Mason nodded through the whole thing.
"You... are actually a genius," the star replied, nodding enthusiastically.
Melissa smiled wide, clapping her hands together and bouncing on her toes excitedly. "Yay! We can make that happen. One hundred percent."
"Let's go get my Mom's thoughts first," Mason joked, letting Melissa help her with the dress as they walked back out to the viewing room.
"Mason, that is stunning, honey. What do you think?" Catherine asked as Melissa adjusted the train so everyone could see the full vision.
"I really love it," her daughter agreed, looking at herself in the mirror, for the first time being able to see the whole thing. She smoothed out the front gently, turning a little bit and looking herself over. "Este? What do you think?"
Este nodded quickly, taking the final sip out of her champagne glass. "It's beautiful."
"Okay, yes, but I think I want to make some adjustments—could that be arranged?" Mason asked, looking briefly and smiling at the young girl now standing at the edge of the room.
"Yes, dear. Anything," the famous designer nodded, standing next to her in the mirror.
"I'm thinking we lower where the waistline lands, to like here, and then bunch it in the back right here, so it has more of that draping effect, and then extend the train and cover the whole thing in fine diamonds. So it looks like a silver fabric, almost..." Mason explained as the designer frantically took down notes and snapped at her assistant to grab the measuring tape.
"Yes! That will be perfect," the woman instantly agreed. "How long do you want the train? About four yards?"
"Maybe five..." Mason thought out loud, looking back to her mom and best friend for approval, and they both nodded in agreement. "And can we order a matching veil as well, please? I'd like our initials embroidered on it as well. Just above my left shoulder, I think."
"Consider it done, my dear," the designer nodded. "We'll send you some samples of material and fonts for that, and you can take your pick."
"Thank you," Mason smiled. "Oh, and can we please have them sent to my mother's address? I don't need Drew feeling nosy and opening my packages." She giggled, looking back at her mom and best friend, who had been awfully quiet.
"Oh, guys, c'mon. Don't do that," Mason chuckled, covering her face with her hands as she saw their eyes fill with tears.
"I'm sorry, honey, I just..." her mom sniffled, grabbing a tissue from the coffee table in front of them. "You look so beautiful, and it just makes me so happy to see how much you have grown in the last few years and how happy and successful you are. I am just so proud of you. That's all."
"Oh, mom, oh my god now I'm going to cry!" she laughed, already feeling tears welling up in her eyes as she tried to blink them away, fanning her face with her hands and tipping her head back.
"No, c'mon. You can cry, babe," her best friend laughed, already wiping her own tears. "Please actually do, it'll make us feel less weird about it."
She nodded, noticing Melissa standing next to her now with another tissue box and holding it up to her. She laughed a little as she took it, thanking her and dabbing it under her eyes. "You just did such a good job on my makeup this morning, I don't want to ruin it," she said to her friend, a smile still stuck on her cheeks.
"It's going to be beautiful. I just can't wait for the wedding," her mom smiled, taking a deep breath to try and level her head.
"Oh, god," she laughed. "It's just all going by so fast, you know?"
With only eight months left until the wedding, she had to make it her constant priority. She had hardly had a moment to think about anything else. Of course, it was so much fun and such an exciting time; but pretty much since the moment Drew proposed the media had labeled it 'the wedding of the decade', which had put so much pressure on both her and Drew.
"Yes, and you need to enjoy every second," her mom smiled.
"Oh! Speaking of, Este, we're flying out to Charleston in the morning. Drew's manager should be sending our tickets to you any minute." She tells her friend who nods, giving her a thumbs up with a crumpled-up tissue still in her hand, tears still fresh in her eyes.
"I'll be ready."
"Will you hold on to the fabric samples, Mom?" Mason asks her mom with a sniffle as Melissa helps her gather up the fabric of the dress to go get changed.
"Yes, of course, dear."
"Mom, wait- you should come with us!" Mason says, stopping in her tracks and turning again to face her mom, catching Melissa off guard as she struggles to make sure the dress doesn't tear. "I'll get Drew to get you a ticket as well, it can be a girl's trip."
Her mom smiles back at her, shaking her head. "I appreciate the invitation honey, but you should go be with Drew. I've got brunch with Andrea tomorrow anyways, I hardly ever get the chance to meet up with her." Catherine insists.
"That reminds me, could you let her know that she and Taylor will be getting invitations to the bachelorette trip in the coming weeks? Este has already sent them out," Mason says continuing her way to the dressing room slowly and looking to her friend who nods in confirmation.
She quickly gets changed back into her day clothes, passing on her card to the designer to take down the information and grabbing Melissa's social media for future reference before they make their break for the back door where their driver had been waiting. To no avail, however, considering at this point that the whole back alley was even swamped with fans and people holding cameras, immediately flashing at them as the door opens.
The environment goes from relaxed to chaotic in a second, and out of habit, Mason smiles wide as her mom and friend are quickly ushered by security into their waiting car. "We have a few minutes to chat with people, yeah?" She smiles at the guard who nods, taking place at her side as she walks up to the makeshift fence around the car.
Among screams of her name and cameras flashing in her face, she makes out a question from who she assumes is a journalist. "Mason! Did you find your dress? Can you show us?"
Mason turns her attention to them, handing back a phone to a fan who asked her to sign the case. "Uh, well, I can't share much right now, but I'm feeling good today!" She laughs, waving at a few fans and reaching over the barrier to give someone a hug.
"How's Drew doing? Is he still in Charleston?" The fan asks as she pulls away, and Mason decides to focus her energy on the fans from here on.
"He's great! Yeah, they're still filming in Charleston. It's the final season! I'm so excited about it." She grins, nodding and giving a quick wave over her head.
"Are you going to have another song in this season?" The fan asks.
"I can't share that, unfortunately," Mason says, tapping the young girl's arm to draw her attention down and giving her a quick and subtle thumbs up, making both of them smile.
Mason moves down the line, giving people hugs and signing things, almost in tears by the time she steps back to the car with an arm full of letters and bracelets and little handmade gifts. "Thank you! Thank you guys- it was so nice to meet everyone!" She calls out, waving an awkward goodbye before climbing in the back seat.
She sighs with a smile as the security pushes everyone back so they can drive away, placing everything on the empty seat next to her and Este starts to shift through everything.
"They're so sweet, hey?" Mason sighs happily, giving another quick wave out the window.
"They're lovely." Catherine agrees, looking back from the passenger seat of the car.
"Did anyone ask you about Drew?" Este asks curiously, holding up a letter to the light so she can read the envelope.
"Of course." Mason giggles as they pull out into the street. "Doesn't bother me, though."
"No, of course not." Este agrees. "I just wish they could focus more on you and your music, you put so much work into all your projects I just think that should be the focus when they meet you."
"Right now everything is about me and Drew. After the wedding I'm sure it will shift back to normal, you know?" Mason insists, opening a different envelope to read it.
"I hope so." Her friend sighs. "You did this yourself, it's important to me that you remember that. That's all."
Mason looks over at her friend, tilting her head at her. "Let's be honest, babe, I wouldn't be where I am without him. I don't mind giving him the credit he deserves at least for widening my audience."
Este nods and smiles at her friend, already worried that she's losing her to his shadow.

All The Things She Said
Pairing: Lana Winters x Reader
Part | 1 2
Thank you for all the love! Requests are open :D
Lana dropped her head in her hand and rubbed her temples and you felt your face go red. Your group of friends on the other side of the room, who you thankfully had not informed of the night before, laughed at your embarrassment.
Attempting to diffuse the tension, Lana approached the three of you with textbooks. "Take these," she said, her glare went straight through you. "And please don't be late to my class again."
You could feel the skin under your necklace burn as your hands made contact while she passed you the books. You could tell she felt something too when her face flinched slightly. There was something different about her.
She was wearing her wedding ring.
Lana noticed that you had seen it. "Stay behind after class."
The three of you took your seat at the back row, and you did your best not to look up during as much of the lesson as possible, resorting to taking notes from the book. Your face burned with the anticipation of Lana's confrontation. You had borderline lied to her about something that could risk the integrity of her career and her reputation. The guilt almost sickened you to your stomach and your friends could sense it.
"You gotta keep calm," Emmett whispered to you, knocking his knee against yours to tell you to stop bounding your leg. You peaked up for the first time in the lesson while the others were taking notes. Lana averted her glance as soon as you did so. "She's been looking up at you every time she gets a moment."
You rubbed your forehead with two fingers and peeled your necklace from under your shirt. It was white-hot. "What the fuck?" You muttered to yourself, getting Emmett's attention.
"I didn't know you had one of those," he said. "Maybe it means that its pair is close by-" Emmett stopped himself and looked from you to Lana.
The bell rang before he had a chance to finish himself. "We'll wait for you in the cafeteria."
The class filed themselves out as you remained in your chair, Heather gave you a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder as she left.
You watched Lana smile at your classmates as she crossed the room back to her desk. The suspense was killing you.
Finally, Lana stood up again and sat on her desk, folding her arms, and staring right at you. "Come over here, please," she said, darting her eyes to the floor.
You followed her instructions and sat at the desk opposite.
Lana played with a pendant on her necklace as she seemed to gather the words to use.
"Do you understand the severity of what happened last night, and why we can't go through with tonight's plan?" she asked after a moment of silence, her whiskey brown eyes finally meeting yours.
"Because you're married?" You replied, slightly meaner than you intended to sound. Lana's eyes look inflicted by your comment.
She took off her ring and laid it on the desk. "You lied to me. You told me you weren't younger than twenty-one and Jesus Christ, why did I want to believe you so bad?" She put her head in her hand and for a moment you were unaware if she was talking to you or herself.
"No, I didn't," you replied. Technically. "I told you that a lot of people think I'm younger than twenty-one. I'm eighteen."
Lana took a minute to regain her composure. "Y/N, I think you're an amazing, beautiful, incredibly funny and smart young lady and I would love to have gone on with whatever we had started. Though, at the end I am still your teacher and you're still my student. That's like fifty shades of illegal," she said. Her eyes were trained on the ground now as she straightened her back.
Your necklace was beginning to burn your fingers now and you could see Lana was rubbing her chest. You stepped closer to her as she backed against her table and put your hand under hers.
But I thought she didn't wear her necklace?
Her necklace was hot too. You pulled her necklace from under her blouse and inspected it. In that moment you finally felt like you were able to one-up even Aria Montgomery.
"Does that mean-?"
You rubbed your temples. "Good golly, this is going to cause the worst migraine ever."
Lana looked visibly stressed too. "Surely there's a mistake, right?"
You stared at her hard. "Soul necklaces have never made a mistake in the history of their goddamn existence, Lana!"
The teacher groaned. "The only reason I put this on was because last night you reminded me that I actually had one and I wanted to throw it in my husband's face that there's someone else better than him-" she stopped herself in her rant to inhale hard "-even though that's not too fucking hard. I did not. In a million years. Put this on to match with one of my students."
"How about the chick who tried to pick you up in a bar, then. Would you have wanted to match with her?"
Lana looked like she was about to strangle you, and you weren't necessarily opposed to that. "Y/N, please for the love of God don't make this harder for me. I've been thinking about you since I got home last night." You could see tears in her eyes and a pang of guilt hit you hard.
You walked to the door, peered down the hallway to make sure it was empty and closed the door.
"Lana-"
"Ms. Winters."
"Way to remove the power dynamic," you muttered sarcastically. Lana tried to hide a blushing smile. "I have six months left. I can pretend you're just my teacher and you can pretend I'm just your favourite student of all time."
Lana bit her lip. "You're still flirting with me? You looked like a deer in headlights when you walked in."
You felt your face glow red in embarrassment. "I thought I was gonna pass out."
That much was true. When it had finally hit you that Lana was your new French teacher you had felt a weight on your heart like never before.
"So, sixth months of pretending. I think I can cope with that," Lana said. She was less stressed now. Well, from whatever relief the conversation had provided.
You nodded and peeked through the window by the door. The hallway was clear. You turned back to face Lana and took a step towards her. The teacher could sense her apprehension as you laid a hand on her cheek and pulled her close to you.
You looked up into her eyes and waited for her cue. She nodded, her eyes locked with yours before they shut and lent in. Her lips pressed against yours and her hands curled in your hair as you worked to deepen the kiss. Lana backed right onto the desk until she was sitting right on it, one of your hands reached down to grab her thigh and pull it to your waist.
Her hands dropped to the back of your neck. You were bewildered. How could something be so wrong yet feel so right? This went against almost every moral code you had with your teachers. You were a model student and now here you between a teacher's legs.
Lana pulled away abruptly. "I don't want to go further than kissing while you're still in school," she whispered.
You smirked. "Please. You didn't even plan on kissing back, did you?"
Lana shook her head as she shuffled off the desk and grabbed her bag from the chair.
You had never seen anyone jump as high as Lana Winters did when Emmett banged the door open.
"Mother of Jesus in a tank. Can't either of you be gentle with the doors in this school?!" She exclaimed. "You'll give me a heart attack one of these days."
"Sorry, Ms. Winters," Emmett muttered. He stepped into the room and shut the door behind him. "I won't stay for long. I also just wanted to say that you don't need to worry about Heather and I saying anything, because we won't. But Heather is also getting impatient and wants to know if you need a lift home."
You shook your head. "I'll be a few minutes. I can walk home but tell her I said thank you."
Emmett gave a thumbs up and left.
"It's raining cats and dogs outside," Lana said. "You'll catch your death of cold."
"I'm a fast runner, Ms. Winters."
Lana shook her head. "What kind of person would I be if I let my favourite student walk home in the rain, hm?" She held up her keys and headed to the door.
You walked behind her while she informed a superior that she was driving you home. Child protection policy and whatnot. Ironic.
Lana sat in the driver's seat and blasted the heat.
"What's your address?" She asked, booting up the sat nav. You recalled her saying that she had only recently moved to this city.
"Sixteen Eli Boulevard," you replied, checking a message from your mom. She was making Carbonara for dinner.
Lana stopped. "You're kidding, right?"
"Are you being serious right now? Why would I kid about where I live?"
Lana pursed her lips and laughed. "I just moved into that neighbourhood yesterday."
Well, that was convenient.
"So, I can be expecting a lot more car rides with you, Ms. Winters?"
Lana cocked her head at you and frowned as she began driving. "Can we establish some ground rules? Like no flirting on school grounds? We can't afford for that to happen again."
You nodded in slightly disappointed agreement.
"In school, at least."
You paused, turning to take in the view of the mountain that sat beside your small town. You never seized to be amazed at that view.
“Can we reschedule our date? I know a place outside of town,” you say. Lana squeezed her eyebrows hard in thought.
“How far out of town are we talking?”
“An hour or so on the train. Give or take.”
Lana stopped the car outside your drive. “I can do Saturday.”
Perfect.
You heaved yourself out of her car and gave her hand a squeeze. It was the closest thing to a kiss you could manage.
What on Earth am I doing to myself.
