would love to try fallout 4 sometime for the sole reason that itâs set in boston. even tho it im not even that familiar with boston iâm like omgggg massachusetts đđđ however i was only able to play fnv because of a mod that replaces all the insects with other monsters and there is no mod for fallout 4 that replaced EVERY bug
#so many that are like âall except [this one that doesnât bother me]â well it bothers ME#i bought fnv on sale in high school and was so excited to play. had not thought about the bugs.#got to the first bugs you fight in the tutorial and literally thought i would never be able to play it#bc they make me feel so fucking freaked out and sick to my stomach#the mod i use replaces all bugs with ghouls so it does fuck with the difficulty a bit#but i donât really care about that iâm not playing to get the authentic gamer experience#iâm playing so i can imagine iâm dating arcade#ugh on a slightly related note i wish there was an alternative no spiders mod for bg3#the one that exists is perfectly serviceable and i personally donât mind them being replaced with dogs but that doesnât work for everyone#and also i just kind of wish the mod was better maintained#i havenât had i not work for me YET and iâm always careful to check it after updates but#ppl are frequently having issues and the creator is always like uhhhh idk ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ i havenât checked it in that act#and itâs like i get that and i appreciate them making it at all#but itâs the only option out there so of course theyâre going to be hounded bc itâs the only way some ppl can play#like i just wish someone else would make one#like who cares if itâs redundant you could make it slightly different#r.txt

(If you haven't already) Is it okay to ask if you can do a companions react to Danse being a synth? I have been looking for something like that for a while...
Cait:Â âYou know, it is a damn shame. I bet under all that power armor and testosterone, heâs pretty cute.â
Sole chuckled, but attempted to hide it by frowning. It did not work. âCait, this is a serious issue. Weâre talking about a manâs life on the line here.â
âI am being serious. Are you saying you donât think heâs good-looking under all that?â
âWell, Iâm not saying that.â They opened another bottle of beer for each of them. âI happen to have actually seen him out of power armor. The viewâs not bad, I guess.â
It was Caitâs turn to laugh as she accepted the beer, and after a moment, laid her head against soleâs shoulder. Why not, right? It was late, they were both a little tipsy, and what was the harm in a little gossip between friends?
âSo, are you going to kill him?â
âHopefully, heâll be able to leave the Commonwealth, or at least find some peace here. I think Preston will take care of him, and working with the Minutemen will help.â
She frowned against their shoulder, not content with their response, and for a moment they were both quiet. The only sound in the night air was that of a light breeze through the grass, and a few chirping bugs. It was almost peaceful.
âI donât get why youâd vouch for him. Heâs a synth. Better off dead, if you ask me.â
âItâs complicated.â They pressed a cheek to her hair. âIt will be hard to kill him, if I have to.â
âReckon heâs taken care of that for you by this point?â
They sighed and took another drink from their beer. âI wouldnât be surprised, but honestly, Iâd rather discuss something else. Itâs too nice a night for talk like this.â
Cait happily agreed and turned the conversation to other things.
Curie:Â She wanted to understand. Really, she did, but the things sole was saying just didnât make sense.
âI do not understand why he would be so upset. Surely to be a synth is a good thing, no? I am very happy to have this body, synthetic though it may be.â
âDanseâs case is different, Curie. He thought he was a human.â
âBut he is the same man, synth or no. What difference does it make? Though he has been indoctrinated to a certain way of thinking during his time with the Brotherhood, he must accept his true nature.â
âAnd he will. Itâs just going to take some time for him to adjust. Just like it took time for you to get used to your new body.â
She hummed, curling her fingers into the grass. âI suppose that makes sense. It is a new way of life for him.â
âYou get it. Heâll get used to the idea eventually.â
âOh, but I had you to help me.â Gently, she nudged them with her shoulder. âThere must be some way in which we can help him, yes? Some exercise or task that he could do to improve his mindset? Before, we could have perhaps sought the council of a therapist, but finding one seems unlikely these days.â
They laughed softly beside her and agreed. âMaybe you could teach him how to make some of the more science-based weapons mods. Exposure to other synths could help.â
âA wonderful idea! Perhaps I could even discuss with him an automatic chems applicator for his power armor suit...â
She continued on, bouncing ideas off of sole, and hoped that at least one of them would work.
Deacon:Â âYouâre kidding.â
âCross my heart.â Sole rather dramatically traced an âXâ over their sternum. âHeâs a synth.â
âWell, Iâll be damned.âÂ
Deacon rocked back on his heels, trying to remember if maybe Danse had been through the Railroad before. There was something awfully familiar about his face, but that could just be because Deacon had seen him around before. After all, heâd met a lot of people; he couldnât be expected to remember all of their names.
âI was gonna ask Dez or Tom if maybe he was one of yours. It might be easier to know he escaped, rather than that heâs a replacement, you know? Might make him feel more human.â
âSure, I can ask around.â In the back of his head, Deacon was still trying to remember is the designation M7-97 was familiar. âSomeone will remember if he came through. Hell, Amari alone might be able to help.â
They nodded thoughtfully. âI was planning to stop by Goodneighbor anyway. It might not hurt to check in with her.â
âNo harm in it. Just, you know, donât get your hopes up. A lot of people get replaced in the Commonwealth. It happens every day. Thereâs no shame in being a replacement, either.â
âI know that, but he doesnât.â They huffed in a way that perfectly portrayed their desire to help and their frustration with the situation. âI just want to give him what peace of mind I can.â
âAnd thatâs very noble of you, boss.â He adjusted his sunglasses to wink at them over the top of the frame. âBut be sure to tell him that, if he wants to start all over again, weâd be happy to help out.â
They chuckled, gently punching his arm. âI donât think Iâd ever convince him to do that, but Iâll make sure he knows.â
Gage:Â âWe are killing him, right?â
Sole shot him a glare out of the corner of their eye. âThatâs the third time youâve asked. How many more times do you have to be told?â
âI just donât want you getting any doubts in your head, thatâs all.â
âWell, Iâm not. And if you keep bothering me about it, Iâll go take care of it on my own. Is that clear?â
He rolled his eye. Theyâd been testy ever since theyâd gotten the news, which was annoying. It wasnât like the Brotherhood was good for anything, anyway. What did it matter if they were going to kill one of them. If he had his way, theyâd kill the whole lot and be done with it, but sole insisted they still had a use, and they were the boss.
âItâs stupid to run,â he said, kicking at a rock in his path. âHe has to know weâll find him. He canât hide forever.â
âHe was scared. Youâd run, if you heard I was after your head.â
âFuck, of course I would. Difference is, Iâd run straight the hell out of the Commonwealth and hope whatever I did wasnât so bad youâd want to chase me.â
âTo be fair, he doesnât know that itâs me theyâre sending. Maxson doesnât even really know where he is, at least, not yet. Theyâre probably following us.â
âSo letâs kill them.â
âNot yet.â
âItâs always, ânot yet,â he huffed.Â
They shot him a look that clearly said he was testing their patience. âAnd until I say it is time, youâre gonna keep your finger off the trigger. Otherwise, you better start running now. I promise not to chase you past the Commonwealth.â
He shuddered at the thought of the Overboss tracking him out of town, and shook his head. âI just do what you tell me. You say, âdonât shoot,â and I wonât.â
âDamn straight.â
Hancock:Â This had to be one of the strangest days Hancock had had in a long time.
âWeâre talking about the same Danse, right? Tall, wears a can around, fluffy hair? Hates my guts?â
âThatâs the one.â
âHim. Heâs a synth. The guy who hates all ghouls, synths, supermutants, you name it, heâs the one out of all of us that turns out to be a synth.â
âI saw the data with my own eyes.â They shook their head. âThereâs no faking that kind of stuff. Heâs a synth.â
âDamn.â
He leaned his head back against the couch, staring up at the slowly rotting ceiling. Slowly, he reached over to put his hand on top of theirs.
âSo, what are you gonna do?â
âThey told me to kill him, but-â They sighed. âI want to at least hear him out, first. He deserves that much.â
âWell, letâs get going, then.â He stood, dusting off his jacket. âIâd hate to keep crew-cut waiting.â
âYou donât have to come. I know you two havenât ever really gotten along.â
He snorted. âThatâs an understatement. But, even if he and I arenât pals, Iâm not about to leave you high and dry. If weâre gonna do something, weâre gonna do it together, right?â
âRight.â With a sigh, they stood, pulling their bag up with them. âLetâs go.â
MacCready:Â âYou have to admit that itâs a little funny.â
âIt is not,â sole chided. âHeâs had his whole life ripped away from him. Itâs not a laughing matter.â
âYou canât say it isnât ironic, at least.â
They huffed. âI suppose I can see the irony. But that doesnât make it funny.â
âMaybe not in your eyes.â
They whacked him with a rolled-up Boston Bugle, pulling the swing back at the last minute so it barely tapped him. Still, there was a hint of a smile on their face.
âI donât know what Iâm going to do with you, Mac. Youâre a lost cause.â
âProbably.â He rifled through his pockets for his lighter. âBut speaking of lost causes, what are you going to do about the tin can? Maxson told you to kill him, didnât he?â
They nodded. âI suppose weâll trek out there to Listening Post Bravo. At the very least, thatâs where weâd have to go anyway. I just wondered if you had any thoughts about it.â
âNo thoughts here. You point, I shoot. Just say the word.â
They folded their arms. âNo thoughts? None at all? That doesnât sound like you.â
He stuck his tongue out at them, still trying to light his cigarette. âNo. The guyâs a synth. Do with that what you will.â
âFine.â They stuck their tongue out back. âThen letâs get going.â
Nick:Â âIs he doing alright?â
Both he and sole glanced across the street to watch Danse fiddle with his power armor, something heâd been doing for damn near an hour. Nick didnât think heâd done anything productive except maybe clean a rusty pin.
âHeâs hanging in there.â They leaned back against the steps. âItâs not easy, but I donât think anyone thought it would be.â
âGotta admit, Iâm not so sure I should be here. I might just be making things worse on him.â
âI wouldnât be so sure. Maybe itâll help warm him up to the idea.â
He shot them a deadpan look that he hoped read as unimpressed. âWith a mug like this? Likely story.â
âI happen to like that mug of yours fine, so hush.â
They both turned back to the former Paladin in question, who was still staring at his power armor. Nick really did feel bad for the guy. It was hard to realize the things you thought you knew werenât yours to begin with. He ought to know.
âHeâll be alright,â he said, attempting to provide some reassurance to his partner. âIf thereâs anything I can do...â
That earned him a smile. âThanks, Nick.â
âSure, anytime. Just make sure that you remember helping him sometimes might include telling me to beat it. I doubt anyone looks at me these days and wishes they were a synth, too.â
âDonât be so hard on yourself. Iâm pretty sure what you look like is the furthest thing from his mind.â
He hummed noncommittally and returned to watching.
Piper:Â âYouâre not going to do it.â
âPiper...â
âBlue, you canât. He should at least have a chance to live his life in peace, right? Preston could recruit him to the Minutemen or something. It doesnât have to end in violence.â
âI havenât made up my mind yet. Iâll need the facts, first.â
âBut heâs your friend. Youâre not just going to kill him because heâs a synth. Nickâs a synth, too, isnât he?â
âPiper.â
âIâm just telling you the truth. If heâs your friend, you should give him the chance to explain himself, and let him go. Not all synths are bad, and he doesnât seem like a bad guy. A little misguided, maybe, and heâs probably got a little too much machismo for his own good, but thatâs not a reason for him to die.â
âPiper, Iâm not killing him.â
âWell, good!â She pulled her cap up out of her eyes. âYou shouldnât have to.â
âItâs just not going to be easy to convince him that I shouldnât. The Brotherhood is all he has. When Maxson makes an order, he follows it without question, without fail. Weâll have to show him that an exception can be made in this case.â
âThatâs the spirit, Blue. Thereâs nothing wrong with going against orders every now and then, right?â
They laughed. âPiper, I donât think youâre the type of person whoâs ever followed orders.â
âI can neither confirm nor deny that...â
Preston:Â âDanse, do you have a minute?â
Former Paladin Danse looked surprised to see him. Carefully, he set the gun he was working on cleaning to the side.
âI suppose so. Is there a problem, Garvey?â
Already defensive. It hurt Preston to see a man, who had once been so confident and proud, suddenly feeling so afraid. Though he couldnât deny that it was nice to have Danse on the side of the Minutemen, the circumstances were unfortunate, to say the least.
âNot at all. I just wanted to thank you for the effort youâve been putting in around here. I know that everyone else appreciates it, too.â Gently, he rested a hand on Danseâs arm. âWeâre all glad that youâre here, and if thereâs anything you need, or any way I can help, donât hesitate to ask.â
Though Danse avoided his gaze, he could see a touch of relief on his face. âItâs the least I can do. After all, youâre all putting yourselves in the line of fire by harboring me here.â
Preston shook his head. âWe just want to make sure you have a place to call home, Danse. Youâve been dealt a rough hand, and I wanted to make sure you were doing alright.â
âIâm... as expected, I suppose. Staying busy has been good. Itâs nice to work.â
âThe work helps?â
He nodded. âItâs difficult to be caught up in my own thoughts when Iâm completing a task that requires my full attention. I appreciate that.â
âWell, thereâs plenty of work to be done around here.â He patted the metal arm of the armor. âIf you ever want to do some work for the other settlements, thereâs plenty to be done. County Crossing just sent word about some ghouls. I was going to let the General know when they got back, but if you want it first, just say the word.â
âCertainly. I appreciate the consideration.â
He nodded, and though they went to their separate tasks, Preston did feel a little bit better.Â
X6:Â âSo what are we supposed to do with him?â
Sole shrugged as they opened up a box of snack cakes, and extended the package to offer him one. âIâm really not sure. If nobody at the Institute knew he was a synth, then is there a point to bringing him in?â
âOf course.â X6 pulled one of the cakes out of the box. âAll synths should be returned to the Institute. At the very least, we should see if we can get any information out of him. He could be a useful asset.â
They nodded, but their eyes were far away. The snack cake in their hand remained unopened.
âMaâam/Sir, donât let your fondness for him cloud your judgement.â
They sighed heavily. âBut heâs a good man, X6. I donât want to throw him to the wolves.â
âI know that your loyalties make it hard to be objective in this situation. But if heâs left by himself, heâll be hunted for the rest of his life by people he once called friends. The Institute can keep him safe, perhaps give him a new purpose. He could make for a fine courser.â
âIf heâd ever agree to that.â
He shrugged. âThat would be his choice to make.â
âAnd what if I donât bring him in?â Their eyes challenged him. âWhat would you do?â
He stared at them for a brief moment, contemplating his answer. They had been a good friend to him so far, and he trusted them nearly blindly. To grant them one small favor wouldnât hurt anything, would it?
âI suppose I could turn a blind eye this once. But I wouldnât advise crossing Father. You may not like the consequences.â
They nodded, offered him the box of snack cakes again, and turned the conversation to other things.

RSE Elements Vol. 2 - Advanced Needs (Survival Mode Replacer) - word of warning in default mode of this mod you have to push a button to pee/poop and oh my god that was awful but you CAN turn it off lmao. I use it mostly to eat/drink up all the food I hoard and for the need to sleep for immersion. Thereâs also a slider for damage modifiers you can use to simulate the damage modifier of Suvival Mode or when you get to the point where you one-shot everything if that isnât fun anymore just turn your damage modifier down. Second word of caution is whoever made this mod has some really, really NSFW other mods that uhhhh have some upsetting elements so donât go chasing their other mods for âimmersionâ like I did unless youâre prepared for some stuff that sounds, Iâll be honest, r*pey. Like I hesitated to include this one because I didnât want anyone to accidentally do what I did, but I thought I would with a big olâ fuckin warning because itâs really good at what it does, and what this one mod does is benign.

Weather
Fallout 4 Seasons - is under a diff completely unrelated category in my NMM but it should go here probably
NAC - Natural and Atmospheric Commonwealth - Iâm glad this is the last one because I just need to talk about his mod for a second. Itâs fucking amazing. The weathers are real. Itâs lightweight. You can change SO MUCH visually in the game for personal preference or screenshots - itâs like an Instagram filter for Fallout with extras lol. There are some cool visual effects for chems, radiation, underwater, when you get hit etc. You donât have to fuck around to customize it - thereâs a holotape menu and you just click and change it and if you donât like it go back and change it. Make your shit beautiful with NAC! Thatâs my plug for this mod, itâs one of my faves.
