I just did something slightly reckless and out of character, I spent a what is to me significant amount of money on dollhouse kitchen furniture because I just read the utterly hideous news that my favourite miniarurist is retiring!!! I've known for months that I'd never be happy unless I owned one of her kitchens so I wrestled with it for about 5 mins but in the end I bought stuff!!! I bought it in kit form rather than ready made BC ready made costs hundreds of pounds and I'm pretty used to working with my hands anyway but I've never really done anything like this so I'm slightly nervous but VERY excited.
have a look at her work, all this is 1:12 scale

I love both these books from Jessie Burton so much and would recommend them to any fans of historical fiction. “The Miniaturist” is about Amsterdam, a dollhouse, sugar, and has LGBT representation. “The Muse” is about Spain in the Second World War and England in the 70s, a painting and trust. Such good reads!
