I think "Blisters and Bedrock" put us back on the right path, because "The Message Hidden Within the Pattern" got me to feel things that the earlier episodes of this season couldn't do.
I love the art shift we had this episode for the music videos and mental journeys. Such a different style than we usually get. Would you call this watercolor style? I'll call it watercolor style. So subdued and chill in combination with the soothing music.
I'm glad to see Caitlyn back on the Non-Stupid side of things. I said earlier that I just did not buy her split from Vi and alliance with Ambessa. It didn't make sense for either the story of this series or Caitlyn's established characterization and arc. So I'm glad that she just...switched back. I suppose I should be saying "We need to have an arc of her switching back" because that's the kind of thing I usually say, but frankly I don't care enough for that. I'm happy just having her be non-stupid.
I'm not sad at the re-death of Vander (Just...so stupid to bring him back like this), but I am sad at how it's going to hurt everybody else all over again.
I felt Isha's death coming (In fact, I've been feeling her death coming for several episodes). She's been set up as Powder 2.0 since she was first introduced, and that meant there was no way she was going to get a happy ending. In a way it's a reverse of what happened back in season 1: Powder survived, but killed everybody she was trying to help. Now Isha dies, but succeeds in her rescue (Presumably).
It's heartbreaking, and it's going to wreck Jinx. I predict that her recently-recovering mental stability is going to shatter again next episode. That will probably take care of any lingering chance of a reunion with Vi.
I do wonder why Isha was apparently so determined to sacrifice herself, though. No attempt to give Jinx the power sources beforehand so she could rig up something that wouldn't kill the user, or even any hesitation once she realized what was happening now. She seemed to just be waiting for an opportunity to give her life in defense of Jinx.
Viktor's death was inevitable. He should have died during the attack on the council that closed season one, and even he would admit that. Jayce never should have brought him back like this. But whether it was right for Jayce to kill him now...well, I supposed we'll have to see what his story is before we can judge that.

Ah?
I'm crying?
And not able to think. So this is fun.
I keep trying to decide if Isha and Vander are still alive, or if she really did sacrifice everything to save Jinx. I feel like this show would absolutely have her kill him, but I also feel like they would purposefully pull the wool over our eyes and trick us.
Which is why I'm thinking both he and Isha are alive and well. And they were merely transported elsewhere.
Viktor's still alive as well. Altho, Jayce is going to have some repercussions for almost killing him. I don't know what they are yet, but it might have to do with the way he's glitching every now and again.
I'm thinking in the next episode we're not going to see what the outcome of all of this. We're going to get whatever adventure Jayce, Ekko, and Heimerdinger had. I just don't know if they had the adventure together or separately. I'm thinking together.
Something happened to Ekko and Heimerdinger, tho, which is why they didn't come back with Jayce.
If I remember release dates and stuff right, this was where there was a little bit of a break between this chunk of episode and the last 3. So, yeah, I can imagine that ending really getting to everyone.
Good luck I don't have to wait that long. On to the next episode!

Just finished watching episode 6 of Act 2 of Season 2 of ā€˜Arcane: League Of Legends’. Nothing I could say encapsulates how I feel better than the ending quote.
"Humanity, our very essence, is inescapable. Our emotions, rage, compassion, hate. Two sides of the same coin, intractably bound. That which inspires us to our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil.ā€
Powerful. Powerful dialogue. Powerful characterization. Powerful storytelling. Powerful visuals. Just powerful.
In a cycle of violence and hatred there is peace and love because everything that causes pain once was pleasure and it spins around and around constantly like a wheel.
The nature of everything and everything of nature. We repeat history and perpetuate the pattern because that’s how the world functions and moves and evolves.
There would be no world to experience otherwise.
No life. We will continue to be heroes and villains. We will do it out of hate and we will do it out of love. Always maintaining the balance of nature for all of eternity.
That’s just the way it has to be so that anything can be. It will always be hard and it will always be traumatic because that’s how much all the good times affect us. If we didn’t feel that much, if it didn’t matter that much then hardship and pain wouldn’t be experienced either.
They say it has to hurt if it’s to heal. It’s entirely true. So you decide whether you’re willing to put up with it so that you can have something that feels great for awhile. In understanding that it’s all part of the process of life.
It’s barely wisdom. It’s something we should inherently know or inherently understand. But we’re lost in the ignorance just as much. Everything is a contradiction.
As it should be. When we play around with the laws of nature we so conveniently forget the price we pay for it in the moment - but it will come back at us ten fold because it can’t be any other way. This is the way it is.
Art/entertainment tells and shows us this all the fucking time and we choose to regard it as nothing. You only have to open your eyes. You only have to listen. That same wisdom is all around us if you’re open to it.
I thought TV shows like this didn’t exist anymore. I was wrong and I’m glad that I was. Because we need them.
