it would be so funny if the mercs see the color gang with their false coats from far away and immediately assume that alan drew an army of selkies or something.
GLKJDLKSGJLSK. THEY EXPECT THEM TO TURN INTO CURSORS AND THEN RED JUST TRIES TO BITE ONE OF THEM INSTEAD OR SOMETHING

One Night Stand (Logan)
Tumblr media
Description: Y/N and Logan have a one night stand but Y/N is very awkward about it and avoids Logan. While Logan is very cocky about it.
Warning: Smutty
Word Count: 1,046
Requests: Hiii, I was wondering if you could write a fanfic where y/n wakes up next to Logan after a one night stand? They aren't together and they don't realllyy remember it but Logan is cocky as usually and the reader is lowkey kinda awkward about it, also you can throw wade into the mix somewhere if you like 😭, thank you
His large hands caressed her naked hips as she rode him. His eyes stared up at her with lust as she moaned his name. She was doing all the work but yet she was praising him. He was so beautiful and had the best dick she ever had. He was huge compared to her but that turned him on more than anything. Her eyes were rolling back as she whined that she was close. He told her to cum for him and she didn’t need to be told twice. Her screams of pleasure and his name left her lips til she couldn’t make any more noise. Triggering his climax he groaned and bucked his hips as he let loose in her. The feeling of her tight and warm pussy was driving him mad. Her legs were shaking and he smirked and the fact that there was no way she would be walking for the next few days.
Her eyes opened slowly to the sunlight outside. She groaned and turned away just to bump into something that definitely was not a pillow. She opened her eyes to see Logan in her bed and naked at that. Her eyes widened and it took everything in her not to scream. He was still asleep. She thought about leaving the room but realized that this was her bed. What did they do?
She tried to think back to the night before but only remembered that she was drinking. Great, She thought. They definitely had sex but she couldn’t remember how it happened or why. She poked him in the shoulder until he stirred and turned towards her. His eyes still closed but he was waking up. “Y/N?” He asked as he opened his eyes to be faced with her. She looked around the room avoiding eye contact with him. “What happened?” He asked and she gave him a shrug.
His eyes looked down at both of their bodies and saw that they were naked. He smirked and chuckled, “You finally got me in bed.” It was more of a statement than a question. A cocky statement and she just stared at him with no expression. What did he mean finally? “All it took was a few drinks to get you to admit you wanted me and here we are.” She rolled her eyes at him and got up. His eyes followed her naked form as she gathered his clothes, “You need to leave.” She told him and threw his clothes on the bed.
The smirk he wore didn’t disappear as he got his clothes on. She stared at his delicious body as he got dressed. He walked up to her and kissed her, “Woah what are you doing?” She asked. He chuckled and kissed her head, “Well I mean we slept together right? I should be allowed to kiss you.” She shook her head and walked to the bathroom that was connected to her room. Logan walked out of her room with a smile on his face.
Y/N avoided him for the rest of the week. Any time he knocked on her door she pretended to be asleep. Tension was high and who better to notice than Wade? “You guys had sex?” Wade practically yelled. Logan shushed him, not wanting Y/N to hear what they were talking about. “Yes and I feel like she’s avoiding me.” Wade was confused, “But she likes you.” Logan knew that and that’s what confused him.
“Yeah I’m aware but she’s being so awkward about this.” He stated. “Well maybe next time I can join so it’s not.” Wade was joking but he wasn’t. Logan rolled his eyes at the merc and got up. Y/N finally came out of her room as she couldn’t avoid him forever. Both heads turned in her direction as she walked to the fridge. “Haven’t seen ya since you got drunk.” Wade said. “Yeah well a lot has happened since then.” She said and Logan huffed. “So I’ve heard.” Wade couldn’t keep a secret for shit.
Logan glared at him as Y/N turned towards them, “What?” She asked, only looking at Wade. “You get the guy you want and now you’re avoiding him.” Y/N glared at Logan who put his hands up. “You act like you weren’t screaming my name.” He said. “Damn wish I could’ve heard it.” Wade mumbled. Y/N’s face was red from his words. “I don’t remember it, you asshole!” She yelled at Logan and stormed away. “Though if she did she would enjoy it.” Wade said. “I heard that!”
Logan had enough of her avoiding him like she didn’t come onto him. She was the one telling him how hot he was and how she gets super turned on when he wears the suit and the mask. He knocked on her door. It was 5 pm and he knew she wasn’t sleeping. “Come on Y/N, I know you’re in there. Just open the door. We need to talk about this.” He said. She refused so he sighed, “Y/N, I’ve had feelings for you for awhile now and when you came onto me I was so happy that you returned the feelings. I mean you were praising me during sex and it was the best. But Wade told me a few months ago that you liked me so I planned to make a move eventually but unfortunately it happened while we were drunk. But I don’t regret it cuz it was the best sex I’ve ever had.” He sighed and she opened the door.
He smiled at her but she just stared at him. “You mean that?” She asked and he nodded. She was truly afraid he only wanted to have sex with her but hearing that he had feelings for her made it all better. “Yes. I like you Y/N and I have for awhile.” He told her and she finally gave him a smile. Her awkwardness for the situation went away as she gave him a kiss. This time no pulling away until they needed air. “I like you too Logan.” He figured as much. “Now I have to go kill Wade.” She said and stormed down the hallway. “WADE!” She yelled and he watched her go up to Wade ready to beat him up.

Could you maybe do 141+ Alejandro finding out their 'citizen' partner was actually an ex-mercenary?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: How Task Force 141 and Alejandro would react to finding out their ‘civilian’ partner is an ex mercenary.
Genre: Headcanons, request(s) Characters featured: Price, Ghost, Soap, Gaz, and Alejandro.
Warnings: None!
A/N: Hopefully I didn’t make this like, sadder than wanted lol. It just sorta happened. Regardless, thank you so much for the request, I hope y’all enjoy! ( Gif credit: xxx )
Tumblr media
Price―
He’s embarrassed it takes him so long to notice the signs, but when he does, he doesn’t say a word.
He’ll act normal the entire time, playing the part of your lovely partner until he’s got enough information. The proof that he needs before calling you out on it.
When he’s certain of your past, he’s waiting till he’s home to call you out on it. May or may not have the team on stand by as well just in case he needs backup and morale support.
He’ll at least try and hear you out first, ask you many questions as to why you hid it, turning the situation into a sort of soft interrogation with how he goes about things in time.
He wants to believe you have a good reason, so rest assured you better have a damn good one as to why you hid what you hid from him.
Caught between wanting to know every detail of what you did and why, but also worries that he might not like the answer he receives.
Soap―
At first, he tries to convince himself he’s just being paranoid. Imagining things that aren’t true.
Over time, he’s certain that there’s too many instances for them all to be coincidental.
Doesn’t approach the situation alone, definitely trusts Ghost to hear him out, asking him for his opinion on the matter.
The two go about the situation together, but once he’s sure that you were definitely an ex ‘merc’, he’s taking it very seriously.
At first, he’d be livid but slowly come to realize that maybe he should hear you out. He really wants to give you the benefit of the doubt, believe you’ve done what you did for a good reason.
Much like Price, he’ll have a long talk with you before making any rash decisions or jumping to conclusions.
Has many, many questions about what you got up to for a paycheck and why exactly. Especially since he’s heard rumors about how ruthless some can be after some time in the ‘business’.
Gaz―
Much like Soap, I can see him being a bit in denial until there’s too many instances to deny anymore.
However, instead of consulting Ghost, he’s going straight to Price. He trusts him - confides in him - and asks him what he should do regarding the situation.
After Price gives him his opinion on the matter, he’s leaving to be alone to think for a long while on it.
Once he’s made up his mind, he’ll try and act normal, but it’s clear something is bothering him.
If you ask about it before he confronts you, he’ll be upfront about what he’s thinking and how he’s feeling, asking you many questions about why you hid it from him, etc.
Depending on the outcome, it may or may not be a deal breaker for him. He’s unsure what to think, how to feel about your relationship. Just confused and paranoid all around, poor man.
Like Alejandro, he hopes it’s all in the past, and for good reason, too.
Ghost―
Oh, once he notices the signs, he’s feeling all sorts of things: he’s livid, conflicted, and very untrustworthy of you after.
Stewing on the information by his lonesome for longer than he should, he hesitates with bringing it to the team’s attention. Feels ashamed he didn’t know sooner.
Once he’s got information regarding your background, he’s immediately heading home to confront you about your past.
Feels a heavy weight on his heart as the two of you discuss everything. He’s not letting you leave till you’ve told him every detail as to why you hid it from him.
Depending on how the confrontation goes, it could possibly be a deal breaker for him. He doesn’t trust and love easily, so best believe it’ll take some time for him to come back around to you once again. He won’t be entirely cold, but you’ll definitely have to earn his trust back afterwards.
Wants to assume you’ve done what you did for good reasons but can’t say unless he knows what your past work was.
Alejandro―
Much like Ghost, due to personal reasons, once he sniffs out any sort of hints that you're an ex merc, he’s doing his best not to immediately assume the worst right away.
He really wants to hear you out but will struggle with confronting you.
After he’s found every little bit of information of your past that he can, he’s hesitating on making a scene right away.
Confides and wants to know Rudy’s honest opinion no matter how harsh he might think it will be.
Really, unless you’re upfront with him after he finally brings it up with you, he’ll worry about your past depending on what kind of work you’ve done for pay. Hopes to God that you’ve certain limitations you refuse to go against.

Okay, got a weird one for ya~ So I have ASD, meaning I can sometimes react oddly to social things, or actions. One of these is that whenever I see seggs scenes in movies, I start laughing. Like seggs in movies, even if it’s not meant to be funny, is just HILARIOUS to me. Sometimes I even explain between laughter why it’s so hilarious, like “Oh my gods WHAT IS THAT NOISE??? MY GUY, you a tractor or some sh!t??? HA!”. Would you be willing to take a request for mercs having movie night, only for their crush to start wheezing and laughing so hard they can barely speak at the seggs scene in the movie?
The TF2 Mercs with somebody who thinks actors acting sex in movies is understandably hilarious
WARNING: sex!!!! (Funny)
Scout:
- Confused at first. Jeremy’s the type of person to taunt the characters and make clever quips during the whole movie to make you laugh. Nothing comes close to your laughter at this sex scene though. Suddenly he picks up on it and begins laughing too. Your reaction is kind of understandable. It seems to be a very forced and over the top performance.
- “Holyyy shit, I wanted to be an actor as a kid, but i’m not one for those frickin theater kid losers. Kinda glad I didn’t go through with it, now.” Typical scout acting like a highschool bully. You can tell he was the type of sportsy jock to shove nerds into lockers. He takes great pleasure in roasting the people on screen with you.
- Overall a solid 9/10 experience. One point taken away because he’s a massive prick and goes way too over the top with his cruel jokes sometimes. You have to lightly slap the side of his arm at one point because he’s somehow coming up with new slurs for hollywood goers that don’t even exist in the english dictionary to begin with.
—————————————————————————-
Soldier:
- Ayo?
- Lifts his helmet up and looks at you for a second. “What’s so funny, private?” He asks, and but of course you’re laughing so hard you fall onto his chest and cling to him. Your laughter is very much appreciated nonetheless. Seeing somebody he loves so happy is causing butterflies in his stomach. Even if he doesn’t quite understand it. Laughter is a beautiful and positive thing.
- He’s a very aged man, and surviving WW2 gave him a lot of life experience. Essentially convinced that sex jokes are somehow crude. But let’s be honest, this is soldier we’re talking about here. He never keeps his word and although he tries to keep a straight face, his younger self comes through and he has to let out an unholy burst of laughter in response to hearing the girl’s performance upon getting her titties gripped. Congrats on cracking his US Army General persona.
—————————————————————————-
Demoman:
- Too drunk to even process why you’re laughing for a spilt second but then it suddenly dawns on him you might be reacting this way because your brain chemistry is different than his. Demoman is more of an explosives chemist guy, but he’s somewhat taught that people act differently due to neurological function. Chemicals, brain shit, and whatever the hell else. He’s too tired to remember. He begins wondering what would happen if brain chemicals were flammable. That would be quite unfortunate. Fortunate for him though.
- You fall onto his lap laughing and that’s what knocks him out of his incoherent descent down the stupid idiot rabbit hole. He puts his hand in your hair and smiles warmly. Dazed, and barely even awake. He even chuckles a little with you despite his exhaustion. Movie nights always seem to get him tired because it’s usually at the end of a hard work day.
- “I can show you a time more embarrassin, tho. In the morning.” He flirts. Knowing full well he’ll have such a bad hang over, he won’t even consider getting his ass up to kiss you. You glare at him, and you wonder just how the hell a sex scene in a movie out of all things can get him horny. The look in his eye doesn’t lie though. Wow, he sets some pretty low standards for porn. Also, you’re really scared what he means by more embarrassing.
————————————————————————-
Engineer:
- He looks away during the entire sex scene and that’s essentially what makes you laugh even harder. His southern upbringing is honestly borderline sad. The idea that he can be “impure” for witnessing such “sacred” acts. Even when somebody’s pretending for a movie. You make fun of him and he’s just sitting there grumpily shielding his eyes with his gloved hand. It’s not even an explicit scene.
- Suppressing something doesn’t help, and everybody knows that quite well. He looks between his fingers to see if the scene has ended yet. Maybe just a peak wouldn’t hurt? He’s an adult after all! ARGH! NO! He covers his eyes again… Okay maybe just another peak. He thinks your humor is just juvenile and there’s nothing wrong with that in his opinion. it’s always admirable when somebody decides to maintain their innocence. There is absolutely no judgment from him.
- Over time he gets more used to watching stuff like this with you, but he never laughs. He acts like a deer in headlights the entire time. Overall, if you act like the quote on quote “way you shouldn’t” then I assure you he’ll be understanding and keep an open mind.
————————————————————————
Heavy:
- Laughing at a sex scene? Eh. He doesn’t care what you laugh at or why. He finds plenty of stuff like that funny but ceases to laugh sometimes. He can laugh for certain, but for some reason there are moments where he doesn’t act accordingly and laugh at a joke. Perhaps you two are the same in that regard?
- Stares blankly at the screen the entire time despite finding hilarity in your response to the poor performance. He’s internally laughing on the inside but it just won’t come out of his mouth. As a result he’s kind of offended at his brain for failing him once again. You stop for a second and wonder if he’s annoyed, but then he turns and says “Sometimes Heavy laughs on the inside and he doesn’t know why.” His expression lacks emotion as always. “That’s fine.” You say, shrugging. This finally gets a response out of him and he looks to the ground and frowns.
- He feels frustrated and kind of guilty he can’t emote like he used to as a kid. This type of deadpan behavior moreso comes from his traumatic life. He’s unconsciously taught himself to stay stoic. Even when he’s supposed to be having fun with you. You lean on his arm to rest assure him you struggle with it differently. In verbose, he’s not mad at you. He becomes angry at himself.
————————————————————————
Pyro:
- You’re laughing so hard that they find your behavior adorable. They find you quite stunning in this moment and immediately hug you to fulfill that random need for physical contact. He can’t help it! You’re just so cute when you laugh! You’re like a small kitten to them. Fuck the stupid movie. Both their eyes are on you right now and they don’t want them to be anywhere else.
- They are baby talking you, and calling you petnames. This sudden shift in Pyro’s behavior makes you laugh more due to the absurdity of their cute aggression. Who the hell finds their crush laughing at a sex scene to be attractive? Apparently Pyro. Pyro’s not really one to pay attention during scenes like this anyway so they find it quite easy to do so. It’s always just pointless filler to appease the horny people. Not to mention sort of setting unrealistic expectations. (Yes, Pyro is smart enough to know this. They are smart enough to run a company, therefore smart enough to harshly critique the movie industry.)
- It is absolutely nothing but sunshine and rainbows to them when you’re happy. It’s lighting up the fiery flame in their heart to see you so satisfied. The scenes are absolutely embarrassing as shit and Pyro hates them, but they’d be glad to show you more bad movies and eat candy while basking in their favorite sound: your happiness. Everything is better with someone you love.
—————————————————————————-
Sniper:
- Um.. Is this guy even alive right now? Hellooooo? Sniper? He isn’t reacting to anything at all and you have no clue what’s happening behind those sunglasses of his. Why’s he wearing them inside, anyway? He claims it’s because the TV hurts his eyes but he’s so timid that, that has to be a lie. You’re laughing your ass off, meanwhile this guy’s brain is in outer space or some shit.
- In fact you get kind of concerned and stop laughing. “Mundy?” You ask. Your concern grows when he doesn’t move. Then his head sloooowly cocks to the side to look at you. There are some big exasperated/disappointed dad vibes coming from this man. “You can’t be serious, you actually find this funny?” He asks. He’s just messing with you of course and it’s obvious his behavior isn’t meant to be taken seriously.
- “Yeah!” You respond, laughing even more as he rubs his own temples and leans his face on his own hand. The way he’s responding like he’s in love with an idiot is kind of funny. Behind that rough exterior of his is somebody whose actually quite relieved you’re enjoying this in the first place. He often thinks his own company is quite boring.
————————————————————————
Medic:
- Actually immediately starts laughing too. He’s had sexual encounters before and knows how procreation works. (Not to mention the behavior of women.) Girls in movies like this are depicted as so two dimensional he knows full well the people who made this movie must’ve never spoken to an actual woman before. Reminder TF2 takes place in the late 60s so these are some very stupid ass corny romance films.
- He laughs so hard he actually starts coughing. Holy shit. How is this man not dying at this point? He’s screaming something you’re certain is insults in german at the TV. But even if you speak the language it’s not like you can understand between his fits of chaotic laughter. He’s so queer that romance movies make him short circuit.
- “Well actually you see; realistically she has a very high chance of getting pregnant now because he didn’t use a condom. Even know they said they don’t want a kid. Not to mention!; He didn’t use any lube which can be quite painful. Surprised there wasn’t a doctor’s visit after this.” He goes on and on about how stupid and corny this shit is and you can’t really blame him. Although now you have to sit there for hours and listen to him ramble.
————————————————————————
Spy:
- Visibly offended you’d laugh at such a beautiful display. Sex to him is like an art piece. Intertwining bodies and becoming one with your other half/halves. Puts his hand to his chest and glares at you with disgust. You don’t care of course, Spy is a drama queen and always has been. His judgmental expression wasn’t because of your strange behavior, in fact. In any other situation he just wouldn’t care if you acted differently than most people. But he draws the line when you laugh at GORGEOUS SEX. How dare you!!!?? For shame! FOR SHAME!
- “Rest assured, Intimacy can be more than this. I can make you feel pleasure that these two on screen could only dream about if you keep an open mind.” Of course Spy turns this into something horny. He looks rather serious about this and points his cigarette to the closet. Unbeknownst to anybody but you, Spy has a museum’s worth of sex toys in that thing. The offer immediately made you stop laughing. “Oh.” You say.
- Spy is satisfied with your red face and timid attitude towards the question. He watches you and takes a huge drag of his cigarette. “Hmm?” He raises both eyebrows and pouts, mockingly. Like a wolf who cornered a lamb.

Eternity Will Bring You Near - Chapter 2
Masterlist
Summary:
Wade understood that Logan was from a world where Alpha, Beta and Omega were everyday terms, not exclusive to red-pilled incel fuckheads who kept inventing new performative male genders. Wade would’ve been classified as a Beta. Logan, however, was an Alpha - Wade’s read enough fanfiction and yaoi manga to know what that means. Though it doesn’t explain why Logan keeps sniffing him.
Pairing: Alpha!Worst Wolverine/Deadpool Genre: A/B/O, Smut, Domestic-ish Warnings: A/B/O Dynamics, Blood, Lots of Logan Biting, Mutual Masturbation/Frotting, Blow Job
Beginning Note: It's been a hot minute since I last wrote any smut and I can't remember if I've ever written a blow job scene before so I dont feel too confident. Also sorry for any errors. I didn't want to subject my girlfriend to the smut scene.

Welcome back frienderinos, so many kudos on the first chapter in twelve hours – the author hasn’t experienced that before. The comments are appreciated too, sadly this failed excuse of a human can’t take a compliment and so never knows how to respond. The validation made them quite happy though. How was that vacation by the way?
Well considering that I was working on this in my non-social times, pretty okay. I got a mosasaur tooth and screamed at Poseidon.
Nerd.
Oh fuck off. Don’t make me get the spray bottle.
Okay, okay! Fine.
Wade awoke – still clinging to the offered arm – to a solid mass against his back, an arm slung heavy across his waist and warm steady puffs of air on the back of his neck.
“Oh my God fellas, I’m being spooned by The Wolverine!” Wade whisper-yelled, trying not to wake the sleeping man and ruin the precious moment. In fact, he tried to nestle in closer to the older man and eliminate as much space as possible. Ass to crotch as nature intended. Logan remained blissfully asleep despite the jostling and nuzzled his nose into the nape of Wade’s neck, which sent an involuntary shiver down his spine. Don’t get a boner. Don’t get a boner. Don’t get a fucking boner. There was no way he could jack off in good conscience knowing a minor with fucking super hearing was sharing a roof with him. Oh he’s going to have to sound proof his room once they found a bigger place because fuck that. It was at that moment Logan simultaneously sniffled, groaned and canted his hips into Wade.
“Sweet,” he mumbled, his voice husky – thick with sleep.
Shit.
So much for that valiant effort. Abort mission. Abort mission! Wade extracted himself from Logan’s almost steel grip with a surprising amount of effort as the other man’s hold on him only tightened with his struggle. But Wade prevailed, and fell to the floor very gracefully with a dignified “Oof”. Needless to say Logan woke up rather confused, wiping the sleep from his eyes to better glare at the idiot tangled in sheets on the floor.
“Bub, it is too early in the day to be dealing with y'shit.” His voice still had that sleepy roughness to it. Could this man stop being sexy for even one second?!
“Well maybe don’t hump my ass in your sleep! I’m not into somnophilia and we have a child in the next room!” Wade hissed back, covering his lower half with the blanket he was tangled in, “Last thing I need is her being even more sus about me than she already is.”
Logan had the decency to look embarrassed, averting his gaze from the merc, “Sorry. I’ll sleep on-”
“Hey! I don’t mind the spooning. I love being little spoon. You don’t have to sleep on the floor.” In hindsight it was Wade’s fault as he had snuggled closer. “Now, if you don’t mind, I need to take a rather cold shower.”
Logan watched as Wade turned away and bundled the blanket around his waist. God, the merc confused him sometimes. Not a word about the stiffy he had when they were tied together but all modest about his morning wood. Wade escaped into the bathroom leaving Logan alone in the living room. He stretched out on the bed, joints cracking in protest.
He took a moment to lay there starfished as Wade’s scent and warmth clung to the bedding. Logan breathed in deeply. Gunpowder, leather, petrichor, the sour note of cancer and something sweet underlying that. Something he couldn’t quite put his finger on but it was familiar and grew stronger when Wade was aroused. Yet that sweetness wasn’t there in the Void. He didn’t taste it in his blood. So maybe it was something about Wade’s universe that brought out the undertones. That sweetness had invaded his dreams, clouded his thoughts as he imagined burying his face into the scarred man’s neck, biting down to give him no escape as he drove his-
Yeah… shouldn’t linger on that.
Logan rolled off the bed and sat on its edge, scrubbing his face like he was physically trying to scrub away the inappropriate thoughts. He got up with a grumble and set to work putting the bed away, placing the bedding in a pile to the side. He had just moved the coffee table into place when the ladies of the house – Mary Puppins included – emerged from their room. Althea had Mary under one arm whilst her other hand wrapped around Laura’s elbow, allowing the teen to help her navigate. Logan laughed softly at how their pyjamas matched. Althea must’ve had spare sets. He briefly wondered how they were matching as he doubted it was Laura’s idea. The mystery would be solved later in the day during idle conversation with the elderly woman, Wade had sewn Braille into the labels so she could identify her clothes. Surprisingly thoughtful for someone who refers to her as ‘Blind Al’.
“Is Wade in here? I heard the shower going so it’s either him or the new guy in there.” Althea asked Laura as the girl deposited her in an armchair.
“Wade’s in the shower,” Logan answered for her, “would anyone like a coffee? Least I can do.”
“The offer itself is a damn sight more than what Wade does on the daily. I’ll take my coffee strong with sugar, no milk.” Althea responded, stroking Mary’s only patch of fur between the ears.
Laura curled her feet up under her and yawned, “I’ll just have a glass of water or juice.”
The bathroom door creaked open and Wade stepped out with nothing but a towel around his waist. Call it paternal instincts or whatever, Logan covered Laura’s eyes immediately. His eyes, however, roved over the merc’s form against his better judgement. Well toned musculature and lean. Built for his style of over-the-top gymnastic violence. If he had been an Omega in Logan’s universe he would have been highly sought-after by other mutant Alphas. Mary barked as her tailed wagged happily, breaking the older mutant out of his revere.
“I heard an offer for coffee?”
“Put some clothes on, Red.”
“I’m not naked. All my clothes are in Blind Al’s room, couldn’t exactly waltz in there and grab a change of clothes.” Wade countered, adjusting his towel ever so slightly, “Anyway, I like my coffee how I like my men: Strong enough to beat the shit out of me. No safewords.”
With that Wade exited into the bedroom and Logan lifted his hand off Laura with a sigh. He walked over to the fridge to find the young mutant her juice. Inside, he noticed a few bits and pieces that could be scraped together to cook enough breakfast for everyone, so he grabbed those too.
I’ll stop you there, dear author, because I know that you don’t know how coffee or tea is made in America since you’re British and have those doodads called ‘Kettles’.
Squirt. Squirt.
Fuck, that burns! What have you got in that bottle? Acid?
Boiled water from my kettle you cunt.
Now that’s just mean.
I told you to fuck off.
Wade re-emerged from the bedroom dressed in jeans, some kinda horse graphic white t-shirt with a red and black cardigan. He was greeted to the smell of freshly made coffee as well as eggs and bacon. Logan was stood over the stove tending to a saucepan and a frying pan while Laura buttered toast and put more pieces of bread in the toaster.
“In the words of that bad bitch Nobara: ‘Rejoice, boys’. For I have returned to save you from the mundanity of Honey Badger’s inner monologue,” Wade joked, taking the only coffee mug on the counter top, which he assumed was for him, and sat down on the sofa. “So what’s the itinerary for today? Jointly sign-up for sobriety programmes? Creating false identities for you’s twos? Booking apartment viewings?”
“We’re taking Laura clothes shopping and, yes: getting the TVA to give us different identities. I don’t need your Logan’s enemies on my ass.” Logan replied with a pointed look, flipping the bacon.
“Oh Snookums, he’s not my Logan. There’s only one Wolverine in my heart and that’s you.” Wade kissed the tips of his pointer fingers and shot them in Logan’s direction.
Logan abruptly turned away grumbling to himself and focused on cooking breakfast.
Look – we need to speed this up because we’re at nearly one-thousand-five-hundred words and I’m not missing out on fucky-fucky action in this chapter. Show don’t tell is going out the window for this bit. So here’s the run down: We have a lovely family breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs (I would say I like mine fertilised but I can’t exactly do that on account of all the cancer ravaging my body) on toast with a side of bacon cooked by GirlDad and DadGirl. Logan threw on some of Blind Al’s dead husband’s clothes. She was a widower, weird I know. Never took her for the type of girl to settle down. Anyway, back on track. The TVA was our closest stop on the day’s list so we paid them a little visit first. Turns out they had already set up bank accounts and identities for the timeline hoppers. Very efficient, very mindful, very demure of them. Logan Howlett was now James Logan – not abundantly imaginative of the author. Laura got to keep her first name and was given Logan as a last name. We then went on a fathers-daughter bonding shopping trip to Hot Topic and some place that sells outdoorsy clothes. And after all of that we sat our asses down to look online at potential apartments until there was a knock at the door.
Thank all that is holy that I’m not having you abducted again.
Why do you hate me so?
Who insulted me in the intro to the previous chapter?
Don’t blame me for your self-deprecating tendencies. You wrote that monologue.
Wade opened the door. Outside was, well, everyone. Peter, Vanessa, Colossus, Negasonic, Yukio, Dopinder and the others. They must have arranged it all in the group chat. God, Wade really needed to get a new phone already. It had been three months since the last one got lost on top of a car at the dealership. Peter had a crate of beer in his hands.
“Hi Wade,” Yukio waved with her always bright smile.
“Hi Yukio,” Wade gave her a smile and wave in kind, “Before y’all come barging in here, there’s some people I’d like you to meet. Peter met one of them already. Now they have super hearing so don’t talk all at once in case you spook them.” Wade instructed as he ushered them in.
Negasonic was the first to react, brows furrowed and jaw set, “When the fuck did you get to know Wolverine? He’s meant to be on a mission right now. Are you slacking off, old man?”
Wade stepped in front of her, his face set in a somehow playful scowl, “Cool your jets teen rebellion. This here is my Wolverine,” He stood behind the kitchen chair Logan was sat and patted one of the other man’s nippleoons. He noticed how intently Vanessa watched the interaction, her gaze lingering on his hand.“He’s from a different universe. Me and this fella saved the Marvel Multiverse together.”He gestured to Laura who was seated next to Logan, “And this munchkin here who is about your age and just as spiteful is Laura, your Logan’s biological lab-conceived daughter. But things for her are a little complicated because she’s technically travelled back in time. Last but not least,” Wade bent down and picked the dog up from the floor, “We have Mary Puppins aka Dogpool. In our efforts to save the world she tragically lost her father to… other Deadpools.”
“Shame really, the Deadpool Corps are great,” Peter piped up with a grin.
“Of course they are, they’re all me,” Wade motioned for everyone to find a seat, “That’s the three newest members of our group introduced. Shall we all settle in? Or are we all going to stand around awkwardly?”
Wade took the available seat next to Logan and was somewhat surprised Vanessa came to sit next to him. For the most part they talked to the people around them, Wade was definitely trying to avoid any small talk with her. He still wasn’t used to the new dynamics of their relationship turned friendship. How do you navigate going from engaged and failing to start a family to just friends? Especially when you didn’t start off as friends. There’s no baseline to fall back on. Can’t exactly do the old routine of overtly sexual flirting and trauma bonding when she had a new fella. At some point pizza had been ordered and everyone helped themselves to it.
Logan, apparently, read Wade’s hesitance differently, “Give me the fucking dog, talk to the girl.” He demanded nodding towards Vanessa, his hands already gently grasping Mary and apprehended the pup before turning to Laura who laughed and poked Mary on the nose.
There goes his anchor. His hands gingerly rested on the table now that they were empty. What should he say? What can he say? Was there anything to salvage? Wade glanced over to Vanessa and accidentally made eye-contact which caught her attention.
“Oh, hi,” She said softly, humour in her tone and a gentle smile on her lips, like she thought she’d spook him.
Wade forced a smile, “Hi.” It came out as a wheeze as if the lump he felt in his throat was a physical barrier not a mental hurdle. He cleared his throat to dislodge it.
“You’ve been busy.” She glanced over his shoulder, still grinning.
He nodded. What the fuck should he say? What would she want to hear? Perhaps…
“I did it for you. Even if you don’t want me, I did it for you.”
Her smile dropped briefly, her hand enveloping his with a reassuring squeeze, “You did it for all of us. Can I have a word with you in the hallway?”
“Uh, yeah sure.”
Wade followed her into the hallway outside the front door. She had her arms crossed as she looked up at him, eyebrows pinched together like they always did when she was concerned about him.
“What was that? Seemed like you were masking in there.”
“I’m bad with complicated emotions, we both know that Ness.”
Vanessa snorted, looked to the floor and pinched the bridge of her nose. Oh she was getting frustrated. Not good. “If you’re trying to make your boyfriend jealous, please don’t use me. I don’t need the drama.”
“B-Boyfriend?” Wade choked, utterly blind sided by the statement, “What boyfriend? You’re the only one here with a boyfriend.”
“Right, so that’s not what’s going on then,” She mumbled to herself. She grasped his arm and made him properly look at her, “What’s the situation with Logan then? You were draping yourself all over him when we arrived.”
“Nothing! I like him too much and he hates me but we kissed-”
“You kissed?”
“Yeah, it was after the whole sacrificing ourselves thing and I was afraid he died. Obviously he didn’t but he had been hurt and I was just so relieved he was okay and there was the thrill of surviving against all odds-” Wade quick fire rambled, rubbing the back of his neck while blood rushed to settle across his cheeks.
“You love him.”
“No I-”
“Wade, I know you. When you fall it’s hard and fast-”
“Just like how I fuck.”
“Exactly. The way you look at him is just like how you looked at me in the beginning. Logan looks at you the same way, I’ve seen it at that table. But I’ll let him talk to you about that himself.”
A cough came from the doorway which made Wade startle and jump as Logan stood there, hip cocked and smirking. He hadn’t noticed that Vanessa had left the door ajar.
And how was Logan able to sneak up on me when he had metal bones and weighed at least four hundred pounds?
Wade looked backed to Vanessa for an explanation.
“Super hearing.” She said simply.
“You set me up!” Wade cried in faux outrage.
“I just got the ball rolling,” she shrugged, she patted Logan on the arm as she moved past him back into the apartment, “it’s in your court now big guy.”
The door shut behind her.
“C'mon, let’s go somewhere actually private,” Logan stated, grabbing Wade by the wrist and pulling him down the hallway and up the stairs.
Wade was struggling to keep up, tripping over his own feet and stumbling up the steps as he was dragged behind the older mutant. He had to catch himself on the handrail a couple times to stop himself from defying gravity and falling upwards. How was Logan going so fast?
Was he taking them two at a time?
In nearly no time at all they had made it up onto the roof. The cold evening air welcoming them. As the door slipped shut behind Wade, Logan turned to him and slammed a hand onto the door boxing the younger man in.
Wade turned to the arm caging him in, “Kabedon,” He murmured addressing you readers, “Veteran fans of shojo anime and manga will know what I mean.”
Logan lightly gripped Wade’s chin and made him face forwards, “I know what y'mean, I did live in Japan for a while. I know the language. But I’m not much for words. I prefer action.”
He wasted no time in capturing the merc’s lips, his grip moving to instead cup Wade’s cheek, a calloused thumb tracing over the scarred tissue beneath. If Wade could physically melt into a puddle on the ground, he would have done as tension he had been unconsciously holding seeped out of his muscles. Taking the bull by the horns as it were, his hands rose up to tangle his fingers into Logan’s kitty eared cowlicks trying to deepen the kiss, noses bumping into each other.
He should definitely grow them out, he looked so cute with bigger tufts when he was younger.
Logan nipped at the younger mutant’s bottom lip. One of those little fangs of his nicked it, drawing just a drop as blood that was quickly swept up by a flick of his tongue. Wade’s lips parted in a gasp that Logan took full advantage of. A hand fell onto one of Wade’s hips, pulling him into the other while he was being pressed into the door. Logan rutted into him, his arousal brushing against Wade’s.
Yeowza. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place.
Unfortunately, despite being functionally immortal, both mutants still needed to breathe. The two broke apart, Wade panting and oxygen starved focused on bucking his hips to match Logan’s rhythm. Logan traced mouth along Wade’s jawline and down into his neck where he started to nip and lick at the rough skin, teasing out moans and groans. Wade gave a particularly harsh tug to the hair still in his grip when the bites got hard enough to break skin. Then there was hands working Wade’s jeans open, pushing the offending material along with his boxers down far enough for his cock to spring free.
“I’m not sure you know this Logi, but I’m not a natural bottom – as the readers have seen me say nearly a thousand times already – and I very much doubt you are either, being an Alpha and all that.” Wade babbled. How was he still coherent in this situation? He’s about to have Wolverine’s hand on his dick. “So I don’t know what the procedure is here. How are we going about this?”
Logan tore himself away from where he was futilely trying to litter Wade’s throat with marks that healed far too soon, his pupils blown into molten tar and a faint hint of crimson tinting his lips, “I guess I’ll just have to train ya, Princess.” He growled.
Wade’s brain must have short circuited because in the next instance Logan had freed his own member and had it pressed against Wade’s. It was longer than his by a good few inches, and Wade wasn’t average (nor was he below it). It was thicker too.
Hoe my God! The glimpse I got yesterday through those sweats did not do him justice. That’s a weapon. He wants that in me?!
Logan held up his hand, eyebrow raised expectantly. Wade gathered the saliva in his mouth and gave it the ol’ Huktuh into the waiting palm. Logan wrapped that hand around both their cocks and started stroking them slowly. Wade whined at the glacial, almost teasing pace, one of his own hands reached down to thumb at Logan’s tip which was starting to leak precum. Wade’s, however, was dripping wet which added to the slick glide. He briefly wondered what Logan thought of the texture of his dick against his, of the hand giving attention to his head. But again his mind went blank when Logan picked up the pace and began to thrust up into their hands. Wade’s head fell against the door with a thud, his eyes rolling back. Fuck. The friction felt amazing. Logan grunted lowly as he worked their shafts, his mouth back on Wade’s throat.
“Logan- shit. I imagined something like – ah – this happening when your suit exploded yesterday. Hngh- Dreams really do come true,” Wade groaned, fucking up into Logan’s tightened grip.
Logan huffed out a chortle, raising his head only to rest his forehead against Wade’s, “Here I thought I’d found away to shut y'up, Bub.”
Wade’s gaze darted between the other man’s eyes and lips, his tongue peaking out to wet his own, “Make me then, Honey Badger.”
There was a growl from the mutant, almost primal sounding, followed by hungry searing lips seeking to consume him. And God, did Wade want to be consumed. To let this man take as much as he wanted from him then and there. But it was all getting to be too much, he was getting close. The telltale signs of his balls tightening and the heat pooling low in his stomach. He abandoned his attentions on the other man’s tip to clutch his back.
Wade yanked on Logan’s hair, regrettably pulling the other away, saliva bridged between them, “I’m gonna- fuck! I’m gonna cum,” He whimpered.
Logan readjusted his grip, letting go of his own straining cock to focus solely on Wade’s, “It’s okay. I got y'. That’s a good boy.”
Wade’s vision whited out as he came with a shout. His fingers raking through Logan’s hair and across his clothed back. His back arching like a bow drawn taut while Logan wrapped his hand over the head of Wade’s cock. He slumped against the door, took a moment to catch his breath and cracked his eyes open. When had they shut? Afew seconds later the world came into focus but oh he was not mentally prepared for the sight before his eyes.
There was Logan licking his cum of that glorious hand like it was a fucking treat not to be wasted while his other hand lazily worked his still present hard on.
“I think I must’ve died and gone to heaven,” Wade panted, “Because no way is this real.”
Logan just grunted in acknowledgement. Either he was close or concentrating on getting there.
“Would you like a hand with that? I might not be the Blowjob Queen of Saskatoon but I can give Truthful Timmy a run for his money.” Wade offered, pushing off the door to flip their positions.
“Do y'think y'can take me, Mouth?” Logan teased with a grin.
“As long as you don’t knot my throat and give me a really unfortunate case of lockjaw while we have guests over.”
“Y' don’t have to worry about that Bub, only happens when the person I’m fucking is ovulating.”
Wade dropped to his knees and lifted the material of Logan’s shirt and under-shirt to reveal those Hawaiian rolls, finally running the flat of his tongue up them like he’d been dying to do, “So what you’re telling me is that if I ever wanted to be stuffed like a Twinkie fit to burst, I just need to buy some sort of pheromone or hormone perfume. Noted.” His teeth grazed over one of the muscles.
Gotta love ‘em while they’re still there ‘cause I’m gonna make sure Wolvie is properly hydrated.
Wade nuzzled into the coarse hair of Logan’s groin. He took a deep breath, savouring the heady musky scent as drool pooled in his mouth. He lightly gripped the other’s member with both hands, mouthing along his length, teasing kitten licks and kisses. He paid special attention to lap at the underside of the tip. Logan groaned making Wade glance up at him. His eyes were squeezed shut, fists balled up at his sides.
“You can touch me, you know,” He snickered then swept his tongue from base to tip before enveloping it in the warm wet heat of his mouth.
“Fuck!” Hands shot down to grip his head, thighs twitching in what Wade could only assume was restraint.
This is where I miss having hair at times. Maybe I should alter one of my spare masks to have a mouth hole. That’ll give him some leverage.
Relaxing his throat, he tried to take in as much as he could. His jaw already ached. Damn he was out of practice. But then he’d never had a log quite like this before. Good thing his gag reflex was no longer existent. Wade hollowed his cheeks and began bobbing his head, taking in an inch or two more when he could, spit leaking from the corners of his mouth. He removed his hands and rested one on Logan’s hip, moaning and pulling him forward. The other dropped to massage his balls. A choked gasp came from above him. The grip on his head tightened, holding him in place as Logan began thrusting, shallowly at first but quickly becoming rougher. Wade choked when Logan hit the back of his throat but the whorish outcry from the other made it worth it.
Relax, breathe through the nose.
He tried to swallow and tighten around the thick length, rewarding him with desperate bucks and low growls.
“Shit. Fuck. Can I cum in y'mouth? Would y'do that for me? Swallow everything I give ya, Red.”
Wade moaned, eyelids fluttering as he made himself take Logan down to the base. A few more thrusts and salty bitter spend spilled into Wade’s waiting maw which he eagerly swallowed down. He pulled away, working to clean up whatever lingered. Trembling hands dragged him up onto his feet. Logan wasted no time in drawing him close to lap up the cum that had dribbled down his chin, catching him in a kiss, the taste of both of the mingling. It was messy but brief.
“You nasty. I like that.” Wade heaved when they separated.
Logan gave him a crooked smile, humming in amusement, “We should get back down to the party. They’re there for y'after all.”
“I don’t want our little romp to end though, Wolvie.” The younger pouted.
“There’ll be more to come later. I’ve got to break y'in don’t I?”
Logan shot him a wink and tucked himself back into his pants, Wade doing the same.
“We uh, should probably brush our teeth when we get in. So Laura doesn’t uh… So we don’t make her uncomfortable.” Wade suggested as they made their way back down to the apartment.
“Won’t stop us from smelling like sex, Bubba. Her sense of smell is just as strong as mine.” That response was far too casual.
By the time they had made their way back, the party was winding down. Vanessa smirked, eyeing both men with a knowing look. She had been in conversation with Laura who had turned pale when they entered, her face a mix of abject horror and disgust that comes with the realisation your parent is boning. Poor kid. To give her a small mercy he retreated to the bathroom with Logan hot on his tail. He tossed a bottle of sandalwood body spray to him while he got to work brushing his teeth more thoroughly than he had ever done before in his life. Once he was done they swapped. Most of the evidence of their activities erased. What a shame, he would have loved to brag about it but he didn’t want to traumatise the kid any further.
It wasn’t long before people were calling it a night and saying their goodbyes. Wade gave Vanessa an extra tight hug and a whispered thanks. Really, what would he do without her? Laura had evacuated to the safe space of the bedroom with Al and Mary, which was understandable. Wade and Logan had another beer each then set up the sofa bed. And when they settled in for the night, Logan pulled the merc to rest against his chest.
“In case it wasn’t clear, I like ya. I can’t say it’s love ‘cause I’m honestly not sure. But moments like this and the roof, I could get used to it.”
“So should we be looking for four bed or three bed places. Oh! I should ask Hank if he can invent some sort of sound barrier device for us!”
Logan rolled his eyes, “Dumbass.”
Again the ending with a bedtime scene!
Hey, someone needs to remind the readers to go to bed. Anyway next chapter will take place after a short time skip okay?
Fine! But there better be some penetration or I swear I’ll-
Squirt.

WIP GAME
@charmwasjess for your 2024 preview wip game i reached deep into my pockets (aka my google docs page)
from a WIP i started a while ago but i havent really touched in several months (though i am still obsessed w the idea)
there isn't enough fics out there forcussing on the AgriCorps or the ServeCorps in general so i took it into my own hands and came up with a TON of worldbuilding and at least one flowchart
this might beba bit confusing cuz of all the Corps-slang i put in, but hey. i think you can read it anyways
------------------------------------------------------
"System on the very edge of Mandalorian Space. Main planet's been experiencing abnormal atmospheric patterns over the last few weeks."
Jeisel looks up, calculation shining in her eyes. "What kind of abnormal?"
"The kind that means work for the Mercs," Ilian grins back, though it's a humorless thing, more akin to a baring of teeth.
Immediately, Jeisel sits up, attention fully on the looming chagrian. "But it's Mandalorian Space," she warns, because someone here has to be the voice of reason and apparently that job falls to her this very moment.
"The edge of it," Ilian counters with a shrug, "And you know the Mercs. Republic borders don't really matter when you're operating outside of the Senate's graces anyways."
Which is true, of course, but Jeisel isn't concerned about the Republic side of things. They don't care an ass crack's width about the greater Corps in general. No, what she is thinking of are the very dangerous, very armed and very negatively predisposed to any Jedi activity within their borders ancestral enemies of theirs.
She frowns. "I cannot greenlight that, you know that"
Ilian lifts a brow in retaliation - an unfair move, because he knows it makes him look hotter - and crosses his arms. "Even if I tell you it's a baby signal?"
A hiss escapes her.
"Are you sure?"
He leans in over her table, tilting his head slightly and his lower horns scrape over the surface.. "I don't know. I just tell you what the AssCards told me. If they think it's a baby signal, it probably is." He rolls his eyes but Sian can tell that it's a mask. Now the strange tenseness she felt when he first crept up on her office made sense. "It's why I came straight to you, after all." Yep, there it is.
"You say Charting is saying its a baby signal?," she still is skeptical. Juniors shouldn't have been anywhere near Mandalorian space - apart from the Academy on Bandomeer… which might be the explanation she was looking for, actually. "Any word on the names? Who's gone missing in that timeframe?" If there truly were Junior Corpsmembers in trouble in Mandalorian Space then that should already have cast some waves throughout the greater Corps.
Ilian draws back, grimacing. "Well, they discovered it this morning, and so far all we know that the MediCorps is certain it's none of theirs. Wouldn't have made much sense anyways."
Jeisel agrees there.
"We're waiting on the word from the AgriCorps," Ilian says, showing that his mind had jumped to the same place as hers, "With Bandomeer that close it could be them."
"All right," she reclines back into her chair, tapping away on the armrest, "Get someone on recon and bring me more infos. I’ll need to be able to justify this in front of the Council. Something that's not Charting guesswork and conspiracy theories."

She Pulls My Trigger
A/N: Another cyberpunk!au from me, because according to ps that was my most played game.
One thing to note here: the reader’s merc/nickname is ‘Alter’, in case anyone gets confused.
Warnings: Blood, violence, gore, guns, murder, swearing
Word Count: 2.8k
Her left eye – one the color of fog, and just as easy to get lost in – flashes pink for a brief moment before her shoulders deflate somewhat. “Just making sure you’re ready.”
You drop your gaze back to the gun, checking and re-checking your ammo count even though you had already done so before leaving.
You were no rookie to this game.
Tumblr media
“Hey... Alter?”
A hum is brought forth at the sound of your name, but your focus remains on checking the pistol in your grasp. The dark maroon surface was scratched and chipped, the wear and tear against the handle rough against your skin.
It was quite astounding that it was still in working condition, you admit. But it had been your very first purchase after your first gig, and it had even become a staple with your whole mode of operation.
Sentimentality aside, it got the job done. And at the end of the day that was all that mattered to you.
The brief pause that follows your nonchalant address highlights Yoohyeon’s hesitation, and you finally give her the attention she usually needs to beg for.
“Something up?”
Her left eye – one the color of fog, and just as easy to get lost in – flashes pink for a brief moment before her shoulders deflate somewhat. “No,” she responds, and yet her smile is slightly crooked, feigned, “just making sure you’re ready.”
You drop your gaze back to the gun, checking and re-checking your ammo count even though you had already done so before leaving.
You were no rookie to this game, after all.
“Right,” you drag out, opening the door to your car and mentally noting to ask her about whatever is bothering her once you’ve finished the job at hand.
If Yoohyeon had done her part right, as she often does, then any cameras currently surrounding the car park you were in will never know of your existence, and neither will the occupants they belong to.
The job you were currently on was easy on paper, it was the kind of gig you used to take when you first began working as a mercenary.
Get in, recover the target, and get out.
The client didn’t specify if they wanted it quiet, nor did they state that they wanted no blood to be shed. So long as – you check the name again – “Kim Jennie” was found and retrieved, preferably alive, then the rest was all up to you.
The group that had taken her in the first place though? That was why you were specifically called in.
The Scavengers, while not usually the most threatening gang out there, had fallen under a new boss. And from what you have been told on the matter, their way of operating had been changed.
They were known for kidnapping and harvesting tech that was placed inside of people, and they cared very little whether you were alive or dead when they retrieved it.
Perhaps the thought should scare you, and maybe it would have if you were anyone else. But this type of life, this very city even, takes down anyone not quick enough to adapt to its changes.
Yoohyeon’s voice filters in through the holo call just as you’re waiting for the lift that will take you to the apartments above, any previous delay with her words forgotten as she puts herself into work mode. “This is where I leave you.”
You know the Net Runner has her eyes on you, and so you smile reassuringly. “See you on the other side.”
A flash of static notifies the end of your call, the doors of the lift opening shortly after.
Stepping past the pile of black bin bags littering the small expanse of floor, you press your finger on the destination you wish to go to before leaning back against the sticky broken bar placed on the back wall.
The single light above flickers, and its abnormal brightness causes your eyes to twitch when the sensitivity hits.
Metal groans with the strain of constant use mixed with little maintenance. The doors meeting with an obvious struggle.
The low hum reverberates throughout the tiny space, annoying and alarming in equal measure.
You take yourself back to days long since passed in order to push away the agitation – back to a place in your life when you wanted nothing more than to be the best, to have your name on the tongue of every single occupant of the city.
A legend.
Back then, you would have done anything, taken any job tossed in your direction. A starving animal feeding off the scraps.
You started off with nothing, perhaps even less -- only desperation masked as ambition to be your guide.
You haven’t made it to the top, and maybe you never will, but the desire for it has mellowed throughout the years. After all, a death worthy to be discussed was the only way people will speak your name.
A lot has changed since then and now, however. You have changed. No longer the eager little bloodhound answering every beck and call; you had earned yourself a comfortable spot within your group of Fixers.
If they needed tact, or someone reliable, they came to you. High-paying clients meant better-paid jobs, but with it came more restrictions on what you could do during a gig.
It was why it made this job a little like a breath of fresh air.
Or maybe it was just nostalgia.
A gust of a warm draft encourages your eyes to re-open. The hallway that greets you once they do looks just as dingy and damp as it smells.
To be expected, really.
With a small push from the banister, you begin making your way toward the address that was given.
There is no noise coming from the closed doors, only the rickety whirl of broken air conditioners and the electrical charge of naked wires.
Your gun rests easy, almost limp, in your grip. The roughened handle feels coarse as you absentmindedly run your thumb over its surface.
Once a nervous tick, now it was just habit.
You’re able to tell you’re approaching your destination before you even find the door; the temperature takes an unnatural and heavy drop just as you make a right at the end of the corridor.
The pad that lays beside is easy to hack, and within seconds you have the front entrance to an otherwise ordinary apartment sliding open before you.
And the moment it does, you’re expertise kicks in.
The first room to greet you is dim, but the scent of iron hangs heavy. Ghostly cries of pain and torture are ingrained within every surface your eyes can fall upon.
Equipment lies on almost every inch of floor space, messy and uncoordinated. The only solace is that it allows the shadows to erase your presence from the occupants; a whisper into their ear before they fall before you.
There are plenty of large box freezers that hum against the muffled bass booming from somewhere hidden further within. Red coating the wilted white surfaces in crusted layers; the markings of many stories that ended in suffering.
You peer through the gaps of a thin metal table holding make-shift, taped together ‘surgical’ equipment; your eyes catching the movement of a single limb before the person evades your sight.
The deep thrum of music masks any noise you may have made as you begin to creep closer. The tops of your kneecaps graze your stomach with how low you keep yourself.
Using your enhanced cyber optics, you take a quick scan of the lone occupant currently fiddling with something on a table. Their back was all you could make out from your position, each step taken matching the vibrations coursing under your feet.
Too easy.
In one swift motion, you take a lunge, raising to your full height in order to place a hand on the back of the person’s head and push forward. Hard.
Little noise is able to reach your ears, but you can imagine the swift crunch of cracking bone as the man falls limp on the floor.
A steady breath exhales out of your mouth as you watch for any movement. The darkness alongside the awkward way he landed leading you to take more time than you usually would in order to make sure a target had left the city of purgatory and descended to places far worse.
But a few moments are all it takes for your worries to be quelled, eyes casting a curious look back toward the table in which he was stationed. Jagged and crude instruments stained with layers of blood lay upon the surface, each designed with the sole purpose of inducing the maximum amount of anguish.
Sick bastards.
Interest instantly quelled; you step away to venture further on. The heavy penetrating sound only seeming to hit all that deeper within your mind as you reach the next door.
Which unfortunately means anyone who could be potentially hidden on the other side is masked by a low bass with the sporadic screams of unintelligible lyrics.
The uncertainty finally garners your full attention; fingers falling steady on your gun just as the door begins to slide open.
Only for someone to almost walk straight into you.
The red glow of their many optics is synonymous with those of a spider; deadly and unforgiving.
The metal that’s intertwined with the muscles in your arms has you raising your weapon within seconds, a smoking hole appearing in the person’s forehead faster than you can blink.
The scarlet glow fades almost unceremoniously as blood splatters, a strangled gurgle of unswallowed saliva marking another obscene death.
So much for subtlety.
With few other choices you reach out and take hold of the stained vest of the falling woman. Using the body as a vulgar makeshift shield due to the bullets taking on the goal of ending your own life; the panicked yells of other Scavengers surround you like a starving pack of coyotes.
The devilish spark of death glows from your right, staining the wall with its intent. Blind fire embedding into the fallen vulture in your grasp. Their breathing counterpart finally turning to see if they’ve hit their target.
You meet their eyes once they do, squandering the urge to send them a cheeky wink before a single shot ends their turn.
Adrenaline flows with practiced ease, your body taking full advantage as you all but throw the deceased occupant to one side, the distraction it causes enough for you to dive in the opposite direction.
The music still pulses; the erratic heartbeat surrounds the scene with excitement.
Quick fingers allow you to reload your gun with proficient mastery, the soft click harmonizing with a deep intake of air just as you turn and begin firing.
Your first bullet strikes true, another dropping alongside the heavy bass.
But the piercing burn of torn flesh falters your second. Cotton sticking to your shoulder from the ooze of red.
A startled hiss tears itself passed your teeth, a swear falling quickly thereafter.
“Shit,” you breathe out, the fingers of your free hand twitching with the urge to fix the wound.
But another shot has you flinching away, forced concentration breaking through the crowd of innate commands and allowing you to get your bearings – somewhat – back together.
You curse the uncertain shake in your legs when you take a stand, their refusal to cooperate leaving you with little choice other than to begin shooting from where you stood.
Another strike to your side guides your hand toward the last assailant, their gun pointed at you for another blow.
Not this time.
Trigger-happy muscles put a stop to any more bullets from hitting your body, and with it, the deafening sound of the music becomes your last target to silence.
But first, a little kicker.
The MaxDoc is light in your grasp, and one puff of its medicinal prowess leaves you feeling well enough to put an end to this gig.
There is no sign of your target as you begin searching, and the sudden lack of life stirs up a feeling of trepidation deep within the murky depths of your chest. Its hold is crushing and all-encompassing like you were drowning in the void of space.
One last door becomes your last hope, albeit a mocking one.
Because one look inside the small room is all it takes for it to be over; the hunched-over form of Jennie Kim staring at you with distress clear in her eyes.
One call later, and the money sits snuggly in your account.
- - - - - - - - - - ☆ - - - - - - - - - -
You hit up Yoohyeon as you drive home.
Her expression is oddly serious when it flashes up, and the unnatural way it pulls at her muscles almost makes you want to laugh.
“You’re hurt.”
Your lips tug up with her statement. Of course, she had been watching the whole thing.
“Yeah,” you relent, the dropping levels of adrenaline leaving you feeling worn out. “I got shot twice.”
Concern forms in the way she creases her eyebrow, the slightly heightened pitch of her voice when she next speaks on exemplifying the fact.
“Are you going home?”
The intent of her question is clear, and the prospect of her tending to you like she has many times before never fails to push forth the softness you clearly held.
“I am,” you nod, finally letting the smile form after its incessant nagging, “I’ll be about 10 minutes.”
Her response is quick and firm – and you laugh at the fact that she thought you may have even attempted to argue in the first place. “I’ll meet you there.”
The call ends then, and you try to use the silence to help regulate the sudden spike of your heart.
Like always, you think with a wry smile, I can never deny her.
- - - - - - - - - - ☆ - - - - - - - - - -
The journey from the carpark under your apartment complex to your home is a tedious one. The sticky wetness of flowing blood only making the whole ordeal that much worse.
But as soon as your front door slides open, Yoohyeon is there, ready and waiting. And just the sight of her alone makes your body relax.
Her hands are tender when she guides you to the bed, and slow when she removes the stained shirt in order to see the damage.
You do little more than watch as she begins, mesmerized at how confident her movements are as they begin the steps of stitching you up.
She catches your eye at one point, and you can feel the slight flush of skin when you notice her own do the same; bangs attempting to hide the shyness she feels. Her hands stay on your body even after she finishes up.
Her closeness is intoxicating, the pleasant smell of her perfume even more so.
She has you strung up in her web, helpless, and yet you wished it no the way. Because in a city such as this one, good things are hard to come by, and even more fleeting once you find them.
“Hey,” you whisper into the small space between you, waiting until her eyes once again find yours before you continue, “thank you.”
A flicker of a smile, one that tells you all the words she fails to speak, before she is closing her eyes and leaning in until there is nothing but the intertwined thump of two heartbeats in the gap.
Her lips are as soft as you remember, and the familiarity of it lets you know that you had done it, that you had made it back to her alive.
A push of a hum into your very soul, and she breaks away.
“Let’s go to bed.”
Your eyes do not open straight away, still dazed from such a feathery touch, and she laughs at you because of this.
However, a voice pipes up from where it was waiting in the back of your mind, and your expression hardens slightly upon remembering. “Hey… Yoohyeon?”
She hums your way, and you take her hand before you continue, “was there something up before? You were acting weird before we ended the call.”
Her body seems to tremble upon your question, like she had forgotten herself, and you watch as her grey eye flickers the same shade of pink it had only a few hours prior.
“I don’t know how,” she begins slowly, still very on edge, “but it was like I knew something bad was going to happen. I could… feel it.”
Your head tilts at her words, and you can feel your own confusion mixing in with hers.
Something to figure out, together.
A yawn breaks free.
Tomorrow though. For now, I’m passing the fuck out.
You tug the hand you were still holding, her eyes following the small tilt of your head when you point it towards the bed.
“It’s been a rough couple of hours,” you joke, your attempt being rewarded with a small laugh, “let’s get some rest.”
Her agreement is instantaneous, and before you even know it yourself she has beaten you to slumber while cuddled into your arms.
Your eyes close just as a siren sounds off somewhere in the distance, a familiar sound no matter the time.
Now, though, now you were safe. Yoohyeon was safe.
That was all that mattered.

Please spare h/cs about moon boys and stalker!reader 🔥
(Since now i’ll start to sign as 💀)
I think I'll call you... Skully (?
Marc Spector:
*Very good at noticing something's wrong and someone is following him.
*Either way, he believes in "ask first, hit later" and makes some moves to face you.
*He's a little confused, why are you following him? You look like anything but a criminal or a merc or... well, a menace, to be honest.
*"You better stop what you're doing" he warns you, towering but never touching you. Like, compared to him, you're small and with an obvious lack of physical strenght to take him down.
*...Not like his words are going to stop you. The main problem is, the next time you met, he's being Moon Knight and it scares you to death, because everyone knows the legend of this white-suited vigilante who's pure violence and doesn't bat an eye when punishing criminals. "What did I tell you?" he grunts after saving you in one of those nights you were behind his heels and faced by accident a gang.
*Marc doesn't know what to think of you. You're obviously a little flee wasting your time in a creepy hobbie, but you're mostly harmless and very clumsy if he noticed you so fast. And deep inside, wants to know why are you so interested in him.
Steven Grant:
*Is more likely he learns about your doings by other's mouths than by himself. Like, you've been visiting the museum or just walking around for days and the security personal is getting worried about that.
*He had run a couple of times onto you by accident (from him, you were getting closer on purpose) and slow but surely, begins to notice your presence is very common. And, well, you're in London, a big city, it can't be a coincidence.
*Probably you were too obvious this time, for he approaches you with his usual good nature ("Hello... can I help you? Noticed you've been around for a'while...") and the duel of socially anxious people begins between both of you.
*Impossible to know what happened, did you invite him, did he invite you? Anyways, you arrange a date and actually show up, and you make a huge effort to not show how obsessed you've been with him since the past weeks.
*But your plan of acting normal fails when you met him as Mr. Knight (probably in a less dangerous situation than the mentioned with Marc) and you confess, feeling embarrased for being caught, your past behavior.
*"Yes, they could be a crazy criminal, dunno, they look very nice and -I've never felt in danger these weeks. But it's funny, don't you think? Having someone looking upon you? I should be more careful, I know, but... they're nice, if we just ignore they're a little unhinged" (Steven talking to Crowley about you)
Jake Lockley:
*Nothing escapes from his sight. Jake can feel when someone's around him, and yes, he noticed you since the first time you began to follow him.
*He's generous, and gives you some space for your doings, pretending he's not aware of your not-so-far presence. But it's just a game, you soon become the prey and he corners you in an alley, without any intend of being nice.
*"Entonces..." he whispers while showing you he's armed, one hand keeping you pressed against a wall "you're a little mouse, following me for all the city, and don't try to deny it. Tell me, why?"
*He has reasons to be this extra, maybe thinking you're part of Harrow's cult searching for revenge after his death. If you don' answer quick, or he's not sure you're being honest, he'll search for things on you than can be considered a menace, including your phone, where you probably have some not very well taken photos.
*At this point you're probably about to burst in tears, Jake can scare the sh*t out of anyone even if he's not being directly aggresive. "I'm s-sorry, I... I won't bother you again, please, just... I just..." you mumble. He shushes you with his gloved hand caressing your face "Tranquila, ratoncita ("Calm down, little mouse"), I'm not going to hurt you... Just getting sure you're not being a problem, okay?"
*The predator becoming the prey goes further. Now you're the one being stalked by Jake, who wants to be sure you're not part of something that may damage him or the other Moon boys, and of course he's far better in this than you. But, to be honest, he felt a little pleased with the idea of you going after him because you liked him, yes, you're not a very normal person, but so isn't him...

Okay an idea, how about if at first the darling saw Pyro as being quite cute with his "childish naivity" and love of unicorns and everything and so was one of the only mercs to be nice to him, but as time goes on and they learn about Pyros true nature they get more and more scared but Pyro has already taken a shine to them, so the darling is just stuck with a man they fear incredibly because they had already locked their fate
(Can be a concept or short! Whichever you think fits this idea best)
Sure! Pyro needs more love here anyways ^^
Balloonicorns and Rainbows
Yandere! Pyro Short
Pairing: Romantic/Platonic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Delusional behavior, Murder, Forced romantic/platonic affection, Mentions of being burned alive, Beheading mention, Threats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No one really knew what went on behind that mask. No ally or enemy bothered to look. Why would you when the person wearing that mask was a pyromaniac?
People called Pyro a monster. Even his own team deemed him a thing more than a comrade. Everyone was scared of him.
Yet he was none the wiser. Those goggles on his mask made him blissfully ignorant. To him, everything was sunshine and rainbows!
To everyone else, he burned countless, torched them until nothing was left.
He never understood why people shifted away from him. Didn't care, either. Why would he when he could play with a Balloonicorn in bright green hills?
Then you were hired. A new mercenary to join the team he was on. Not only that...
But you were also the first not to fear him.
Everyone thought you strange for walking straight up to him. You even thought his thing for childish things cute. This man was supposed to be a monster?
Pyro thought you were angelic. The goggles certainly didn't help his imagination. Your words were so sweet like candy....
It made sense that he'd follow you around. From what you heard his team never really talked with him. Now Pyro was following another member like a puppy.
It all started so cute. Pyro loved looking at you through his goggles. Who knows, maybe in his vision you really were portrayed as an angel.
You then were surprised with hugs from the mercenary. Happy muffles coming from his mask as he pressed into you. You were surprised but reciprocated most of the time.
The others asked you if you were ever worried from time to time. You give them an odd look, glancing over at Pyro playing with a lighter.
"Worried? Why would I be worried?"
Oh you poor thing....
You then saw him in battle. That man who always gave you hugs and rambled about Balloonicorns? You couldn't believe how ruthless he really was....
Now you know what you were warned about.
As a result you tried to push Pyro away. The clingy mercenary became very confused at this. Why were you avoiding him?
So, he follows. He doesn't understand why you look so nervous and scared. He was just blowing bubbles and giving out candy?
Why do you look like you've seen a ghost?
Your lack of affection worries the mercenary- He tries so hard to get you to hug him. Only for you to push at his chest and shake your head.
He adores the feeling of your hands on his chest... but he doesn't want to go away! He clings to you with childish whining. You, on the other hand, feel tears run down your face.
"Let go...!" You call to him, ignoring his gaze. "Pyro, no more of this!"
Pyro ignores your plea. Shaking his head and holding you closer. You've been ignoring him... why?
He tries to ask and it comes out muffled. You have no idea what he means. He used to be cute when doing this... not anymore, however.
Pyro is a monster.
Naive or not, he's killed people with a giggle. Beheaded them with an axe. Burned them alive.
You push again, this time warranting an irritated muffle. In a panic you try to scramble away. Temporarily, Pyro does pull away.
Before you can breathe a sigh of relief, Pyro slams your back onto the ground of the team base. The handle of his axe pressed against your neck.
A warning to stay still.
Warily, you comply. Allowing Pyro to calm down and lay on top of you, giggling like a child. Like he didn't just threaten your life.
His gaze stares into you. You stare back. There's another giggle before he cups your face.
Deep down, you aren't sure if Pyro knows what he's truly doing.
You just hope he chooses to be merciful towards you in the future.

Tumblr media
Church & Jorge with a Small S/o Headcannons
GENRE - Romantic
TRIGGER WARNING - Kidnapping Manipulation, Intimidation, belittling, dehumanization ( again - Church and Jorge treating you like a fucking house pet ), Forced acts of affection, Cages
Tumblr media
Okay. G0L3M's are already kinda big so having two of them and you're even smaller than the average grunt? Oh buddy, You are in for not only a wild ride, but there isn't gonna be any stops.
I recommend reading through my general headcannons for Church and Jorge to establish the norm for them because the way they treat a smaller than average s/o is..... Well about what you'd expect after reading them.
They kinda just saw you and decided you were too small to take care of yourself - Pitying you for already surviving this long on your own. They pretty much just grabbed you and booked it, Like straight up nabbed you and said " You're our partner now " because they thought you looked cute.
You're a lot more susceptible to their strength and size, which means it's easier to both purposely and accidentally injure you. They'll try to be careful but as impulsive as they are, they may just accidentally end up grabbing you a little too roughly which is gonna cause some pretty mean bruising.
They can get very excited very easily, ESPECIALLY CHURCH. So the duo may accidentally hurt you. It doesn't help that they can't exactly heal you properly themselves either so will most likely head out to other MERC members for help.
You can't really do anything to stop them, after all they're strong and can probably pick you up easily as an average grunt. I'd imagine they already are able to snag a normal grunt with little to no problem because they're a lot stronger as well as there being two of them.
The way you squirm in their grasp and fight back against them despite being so small is even more endearing. You can't hurt them and they probably believe due to your stature, You can't keep up with a regular grunt in a fight so it's just adorable to watch you think you stand a chance against the two.
Belittling you is a lot more frequent, just a constant reminder of not only how small and frail you are compared to them: You can't even get to try and argue with them. Instead, they'll just continuously talk over you or ignore what your saying in favour of listening to the other. It can be extremely frustrating. They believe they know what's best for you so why would they need your opinion? Don't worry that pretty little head of yours. Basically these two go
Absolutely pampering you with affection though, They'll be giving you so many kisses. They just can't resist themselves when it comes to you and won't hold back on their affection either.
They're will always be one of them giving you some sort of physical affection, Since they don't really want to put you down, a little scared they might accidentally crush you so you are almost constantly being cradled.
Church's favourite type of affection is kisses. From Inuit kisses to neck kisses, they really don't hold back. It's a lot harder to kiss you due to the size difference but trust me, it will not stop them. They just love the feeling of you against their lips.
Jorge is more so for hand holding, But enjoys almost every kind of physical contact. He just overall prefers it and he likes feeling your tiny little hand in his. The physical contact makes him ecstatic. Even if it means he has to hold it tightly to keep you from trying to get away from him.
You probably don't get outside anymore though. They're a lot more paranoid than they would be with a more regular sized grunt. Generally speaking they feel everything and anything could be a threat so they'll keep you in their shared base 24/7 with usually one of them there to accompany you. If they can't both be there, They already have a small little pen for you ( like those dog pens ) to keep you in a safe space. Might even instruct some fellow MERC members to keep an eye out for them to make sure you don't get into any trouble while they're gone.
One advantage against these two however is use of small spaces. Just make sure that they aren't gonna be able to break your hidey holes surroundings since they are known for just kinda smashing what they can. Maybe it can at least give you a good head start.
You can get really into those creaks and crevasses and keep yourself always just out of reach and make sure to stay one step ahead. They'll already be underestimating you so if you can play to that advantage too, You could possibly get away with better chances than the average grunt!

Grief
Chapter One: History
Din Djarin x Reader x a bunch of other star wars characters
Series Summary: Raised on Mandalore, born into a bloodline of warriors, no one ever expected for the daughter of a Clan leader to go rogue. Leaving the life of security and making the journey to fight in the war against the empire meant many things... giving up the way of the Mandalore, and giving up a solid future. A future that involves an arranged marriage to a foundling from another clan.
Chapter Warnings: Oof this ones kinda angsty right off the bat- ⚠️ attempted suicide?? Kinda?? Age gap (reader is underage, but don't worry it's just for the sake of backstory and also there's no spicy, so...) mentions of death and afterlife, fluff if you like squint really hard
A/n: hello there... I'm sorry to inflict tumblr with this atrocity, but wattpad had to deal with it so tumblr can too. I wrote a different version of this on my wp with an OC name, but I know that not everyone cares for that so this won't include that. Also this series will be such a slow burn... prepare yourself ahead of time because it's going to be agonizing
Words: 6.3k+
SERIES MASTERLIST UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Part 1/?
Tumblr media
"Pehea gar mar'eyir ni...."
How did you find me....
He came and sat beside me, the sound of metal scraping agaisnt the ground when he knelt first.
"Gar cuyir te shi solus tion'ad comes olar jii. Ni kar'taylir gar jate'shya gar mirdir Ni vaabir," He responded.
You are the only one who comes here now. I know you better than you think I do.
I heaved a deep breath before letting it out in an exhausted sigh. Speaking in my native tongue was something I always appreciated, but now sitting here it felt nearly uncomfortable, but there was a reason for that.
"I wanted to be alone," The words from my mouth were no longer in my language, and he shifted beside me, trying to convey his confusion without a word.
"Care to elaborate?" He suggested, his asking tone was harsh... but then so was everything else about him.
I didn't really feel like explaning my feelings at the moment. I didn't want to focus on the very thing he was asking about. Even though he wasn't absolutely sure of what he was asking.
"You wouldn't understand if I told you," I trailed off.
"Try me." His voice wasn't any softer, but the sincerity he rarely showed had seeped into his tone.
"I really don't think it's a good idea. You really won't understand, and for all I know you could make things worse off for me than they already are," I didn't like it when he let his guard down around me. I didn't like getting closer to him, even though I was supposed to.
"I can't force you. Whatever it is, I wouldn't get myself too worked up," He sounded hurt, but I couldn't bring myself to believe it was by my words. He was too strong to be wounded by such trivial things.
He moved in his seat, beginning to stand, and for some reason the thought of being alone like I had originally intended seemed like a horrible idea.
I reached out to grip his arm. I kept my gaze forward, knowing that even if I looked at him I could not see his eyes.
"Stay."
He didn't hesitate. He sat down again, and I no longer felt guilt for the hurt in his voice a moment prior.
We sat for a moment in silence, just looking over the cliffside, into the deep canyons that wove in between settlements and encampments of our tribes and clans.
"I don't want this life," I whispered. I had only half hoped he would be paying enough attention to hear me. My voice was soft enough that he might not have.
"What do you mean?"
I squeezed my eyes shut, regretting the choice to even say what I did. I felt a shiver go down my arms, and I felt the wind come into the old open cavern, making the air around me chill. My arms were exposed, for I didn't expect the cold tonight. I didn't expect to be here this long.
"I'll turn sixteen in four days. I will either take the creed, or deny everything I've ever been taught. I'd leave if I do that," I finally gave a glance in his direction. He looked back at me, or at least the beskar did. I could never tell where his eyes were.
"You want to leave?" That pained tone of his voice had returned. The one I felt guilty for without actually believing I had done anything to cause it.
I did. I wanted to get off this planet. Away from the responsibility of becoming what everyone expected of me.
"I have to. It's the only way I will ever be at peace, but I'm not sure if I truly have the strength to stand in front of my family and deny the creed."
I could run away. I had some friends who were planning to jump a transport and join the rebellion against the empire.
They had offered me to be apart of this, but I had refused, believing that I would follow in my ancestors footsteps and take the creed. My father had already provided the beskar for my helmet to be made. It was already in the armourer's possession. All that was left was for me to come of age.
"Where did you go, just now?" He noticed my lack of attentiveness to my current reality, and brought me back to where I was. On the drafty cliffside, with my legs hanging over the end.
"Nowhere. I was just thinking about the future," I had admitted. Though I felt the need to stay emotionally distant from him, and not let myself develop a closeness, I knew I could trust him with my life, which is why I even revealed these things to him in the first place.
"What do you think your future will look like?" The tone that brought me guilt had again left his voice, but was replaced by something else... was it fear? I could not even think of theorizing that he could ever be scared. He was one of the bravest in his clan. Never had he shown an ounce of fear to anyone or anything. How stupid of me to even wonder.
"Merc and his crew are gonna stow away on a crate transport tomorrow. He has contact with the rebellion. He said that I could go with them if I was up for it," I looked down, almost embarrassed at admitting a plan of escape to someone so loyal to this place. Even though he wasn't born on this planet, and even though he wasn't a blood member of any tribe, the foundling was more of a mandalorian than I could ever be.
"You've agreed?"
"No. Not yet," I shook my head. I didn't feel like my reasons were valid. Having him sit beside me, and ask me these things made me realize that I needed to explain myself further.
"Din, I want to be free. I don't want to spend the rest of my life under a code that is so restricting to me, binding my every decision. Everything I'd do would have to be following after the creed."
He didn't respond, and even though his features were shrouded under the reflective surface of his beskar, I could tell he was thinking of something.
"I'm not yet sixteen, but when I am... I don't want to be locked down under a piece of metal. I don't want to have to be bound to this planet or a clan. I want to go some place far away and be something that is different than what everyone expects of me. I want to fight battles against the empire, I want to make my own rules. I want to be free to marry who I love, and not be betrothed to whoever my father chooses for me," I finished off my speech about freedom, but realized the last sentence too late. I should have chosen a better set of words.
Din's head hung down, looking at the wrist guards he wore. He shook his head back and forth and before I could interject, he began speaking.
"So that's why...." he trailed off. I was honestly too scared to say anything now. Why must I speak so bluntly and hurtfully honest to people? Perhaps it is because I had never gotten close to him that now I had no fear in what I said to his face.
"If the reason you plan to leave your family is because of me, then-"
"No," I said harshly, catching him off guard. I was usually snippy with others, but I had never before shown a tendency to be angry or intense with my speech. "Believe me, this has nothing to do with you."
"You have always shown enthusiasm towards coming of age. It's only now, when we are arranged, that you show any difference," He brought on certainty in his voice that I nearly couldn't deny, but the truth was... it really wasn't about him. "I can converse with your father, the rest of the clan... I will find a way to break it off if it will make you stay."
"Din, I don't want you to do that. If you don't believe me when I tell you that you are not the cause of this, then so be it, but I will not have you ruining your good name in my favor, when it won't even stop me," The heat of the moment provided actual, physical warmth for me in the time I was running my mouth off, but now that I had finished, and begun to calm down, I felt the freezing air on my arms again, wrapping them around myself and drawing my legs closer to generate more body heat.
"Are you cold?" He changed the subject, needing something- anything else to say.
"Its not exactly warm up here," My voice was low and sarcastic, but at hearing my words, Din stood up and stepped behind me. Before I even had a chance to ask him what he was doing, I felt his thick woolen cape being draped around my shoulders.
I smiled softly, not even a real, full smile. More of just a small tug from the side of my lips. My real smile was saved for later.
"Thank you."
He nodded as he sat back down, letting his legs fall over the cliffside.
"So you're gonna leave with them, aren't you?" His head turned to face me, but I couldn't dare try and stare at the beskar while thinking of what I would do. This choice was the beginning of the rest of my life.
"I think so," I didn't think. Thinking was what I had been doing too much of. Now I was certain. This was my choice. I was going to start new, and become something different. I may have been born on mandalore, but I was definitely not a mandalorian.
I had a rush of confidence come through me until I remembered what this meant. It all hit me like a dropship coming out of hyperspace. What was I thinking?
"No," I whispered. Din didn't understand my sudden discouragement, but he would soon.
"Merc and his friends already denied the creed. He's a foundling. They all are," I started to tear up as I realized what would happen to my family. The loss of a child in a clan is bad enough, but my family hadn't done anything to dessrve this. They were caring. They had shown me love. They had given me the best life I could ask for on a planet with such a religion.
"Second thoughts?" He asked genuinely, scooting closer beside me as to maybe get more information from my body language, or even my breathing.
"I can't do this. My family would be ruined. If I ran away, they would be punished for it," I felt tears coming up in my eyes. My clan was good to me. The people were kind, and I found solace there. Even if I had always dreamt about something bigger, I couldn't bear to let ruin come upon my family name. It wasn't fair to let that happen, especially when the only thing in the way was my own selfishness. "I can't leave my family."
I let the tears stream down my face, not even bothering to wipe them away. The contrast of the cold wind on my hot, tear streaked face had helped to calm me down a little.
"If you plan on staying, you understand that I am apart of your future here, don't you?"
"Din, I already told you before... you are not the reason I want to leave," I tried my best to keep myself together, but with my wet cheeks and red, puffy eyes, I didn't see how that could be an option.
What if there was another way to freedom?
I sat, trying to think of some stories that the other clan members would talk about.
"Din?"
He hummed in response, keeping his gaze on me.
"Has anyone in your clan ever mentioned afterlife?" I maybe should have taken a different approach to this. He seemed to be rendered speechless by my topic of conversation, but I had to ask.
"You mean after death?" He asked me and I nodded.
"I've heard some stories."
I thought about how it had been described to me. A paradise, with never-ending happiness, and unlimted freedom. Freedom.
"After you die, you appear in the world as another life. You can do whatever you want and no one has consequences for any of it. It's like a world without chaos. Everything is perfect," I remember every word as it comes out of my mouth. The words that were spoken to me, more like taught to me when I was a bit younger by the elders who had retired from their days of battle.
"It sounds too easy." He said, ripping me out of my fantasy.
"That's the point. You don't have to worry about anything or anyone, because you can do as you please, and everything will still be the same. All you have to do is die...."
"Like being reborn into a different world."
"Exactly."
I hesitated to take my safety blaster from it's holster under my hip, and when I did, I looked at it before pointing it out in the distance and testing the trigger. It shot a blast of lazer energy out into the air, landing somewhere beneath us in the canyon.
I decided that this was not an act to pursue at the moment, for Din was sitting right beside me, and the sight of watching a young girl pull the trigger against her own head might be an unpleasant one. Even for him, though he has seen worse.
I put the blaster back in it's holster and stand up from the rocky ground. Din follows suit, looking down at me with quiet concern. I wouldn't have known it until now, but I wondered if he had come to care for me at all during these last few weeks we had been betrothed.
I'd known him the majority of my life anyways, so I knew he must have felt some sort of attachment to me, but in what form, I hadn't ever cared to ask.
He kept breathing heavily as he looked down at me for a few moments, and it almost sounded like he wanted to ask me something. The question was on the tip of his tongue, but he couldn't bring himself to utter the words.
"Here's your cape back," I slid the material off my shoulders, trying to hand it back to him, but he pushed it back towards me.
"You should keep it for now. The sun is nearly down, it will only grow colder."
He reached his gloved hand up to my face, and I could swear I felt the warmth of his hand beneath the coarse leather.
I only nodded, and leaned forward, trying to lean my head into him, but he carefully stopped me, his hands on my shoulders. Instead he rested his helmet against my forhead, and the cold beskar wasn't such a bad feeling as it rested there.
"I won't let you down. I promise." He said, clueless of my plans for later tonight, after the tribes were asleep, and no one would be at the cliffside.
"I know you won't. You're a good man, Din Djarin." I paused, trying to gather better words. "A true Mandalorian if there ever was one."
The moment didn't last any longer because of how frigid the air was becoming. It was warmer back with the tribes, they always had a fire burning.
Without another word, we both left the old artillery cavern and hiked down the side of the canyon to get back to our own clan territory.
Once I was at the edge of mine, I turned around to utter a simple goodbye, and found that he was very close behind me. His hand came up and rested on my shoulder, lightly squeezing it.
Maybe this was the last time we would see each other. Tonight I would envoke my plan to freedom, to rebirth. Perhaps we would meet in another life. Perhaps I would have just enough memory of this life to try and find him in the next one. One where I will have freedom.
Tonight I had gotten closer to the metal clad Mandalorian than I ever had before. I didn't regret it. He listened to what I had to say, and there were few who ever did.
His hand fell from it's place on my shoulder, but I didn't let him walk away yet. I pulled him into an embrace, feeling him tense up for a moment before reciprocating. It took him a few seconds to let out the breath he was holding in, but when he did, he found himself relaxing into the comfort.
"Goodbye, Din," My voice wasn't sad, or overly sensitive in any way. I figured it actually sounded quite optimistic.
"You know I'll see you tomorrow." He said, reminding me of the clan meetings. Once a month the clans would gather and each tribe would go over the agenda for whatever was to happen soon. Battles were normally discussed, but tomorrow, me and a few of the others in the other clans would be talked about. Our ceremonial coming of age where we would take the creed.
"Yeah... right. Don't come looking for me, I don't plan on showing up," I said quietly, careful in anyone was to hear me.
He pulled me back at arms length and looked at me, but his black blast shield hid his features and I could not tell if he thought I was crazy or not.
"How come?" His voice was also quiet, as we noticed some of my clan passing by to get to the fire.
"Don't worry about it. You'll still see me tomorrow," I lied. Or did I? Everyone within the five neighboring tribes would probably see me tomorrow.
He nodded, pulling us all the way apart and stepping back.
"Good."
He didn't look like he was gonna walk away until I had gone into the hub of my clan's small village. I turned around and walked towards the large fire, seeing my mother. Her helmet was unmistakable. The pattern of the strill engraved into the side of the beskar. It was her signet. A worthy kill of her days in battle. I would never have one. I walked towards her when she noticed me.
Her modulated voice let out a small chuckle, before I stepped beside her.
"It is well to see you spending time with Din Djarin. Me and your father were afraid you may not have been fond of him," She kept her gaze on the fire, speaking only loud enough for me to hear her, given that the other mandalorians of our village were also gathering around the fire, conversing with each other the same way we were.
"I am fond of him, why would I not be?" I was unsure of what she meant. Sure, I had been keeping a distance between us since my father had arranged our marriage, but I never had shown that I wasn't fond of him. I was polite, and gave him attention when it was asked of me.
"Whenever I or your father bring up the discussion of your eighteenth birthday, you always seem to act like it's the plague," She was smirking under her helmet, and I could tell. I could always tell what face she made underneath her metal covering.
"Maybe it's the fact that I dread getting married at all. I'm not opposed to Din, though," I convinced her. I wouldn't have to try and do that again after tonight.
"Whatever it is, your father will be pleased to know you and him were in each other's company. Although I will stray from telling him you two were alone... you were alone, weren't you?" She turned her metal covered head, trying to figure out from the look on my face.
"Yes," I answered truthfully, knowing there was no point in lying. No damage could be done at this point, except for maybe towards Din.
"And what were you both doing?" She tilted her head, and I let mine drop. I would tell her the truth, because nothing bad could come from it. Or could it.
"We were just talking... about the future," I answered.
"Your marriage..." She suggested, and I nodded, knowing that it did come up in the conversation.
"Yes."
"I shudder to ask if consummating was apart of this conversation," She looked back at the fire, knowing how red my cheeks would turn and how embarrassed I would be.
"No, nothing like that. I can promise you," I shivered at the thought. Din was a good man, but I didn't necessarily need to be letting thoughts like that intrude my mind.
Everyone else around the fire seemed to be distracted by the glowing flames, and my mother was soon the same, so I suggested my absense.
"I'm going to go in for the night, get some rest. Big meeting tomorrow..." I said before reaching out and squeezing her hand tightly.
She nodded to me, and I took my leave, walking towards our living quarters on the opposite side of camp.
I wasn't looking where I was going, and brushed my shoulder against Merc, who was with Gander and Shyloh.
"Sorry, didn't see you coming," I told him, but he shook his head, optiing ti ask me a question instead.
"Don't worry about it, I was looking for you anyway... Did you think about the offer? We leave at sunrise on the north delivery tarmac," He informed me, but I didn't have an answer. I wasn't staying here, but I wasn't leaving either.
"You'll know if I show up," I gave him a smirk, partially just because I was glad to see someone's actual face tonight, and not just a metal facade.
"We can't wait up for you, just know that."
I nodded, letting them get by. Maybe I could go with them. Live this life freely without starting another one.
No.
My family will not be able to handle that. It's better off if I'm dead. At least they won't go on to believe that I betrayed them, turning my back on all loyalty they had ever taught me. They would nevwr wonder if I ever loved them or planned on keeping their wishes.
I could start fresh. They wouldn't have to worry about me anymore. And I wouldn't have to worry anymore either. Rebirth.
I went straight to bed, clutching the woolen blanket beside me close to my chest.
For some reason I felt a pang of guilt in my chest. Something that made the sting of salty tears swell in my eyes. I knew that what I was doing was best, but yet I started having a hard time justifying something so drastic. They would get on fine without me, wouldn't they? They would go on living by the creed. This is the way. They will find a way to go on without me, like they did before I was born. Din will be arranged with another girl as soon as I'm gone. Everything will be alright.
The wetness that spilled over my eyes and down my face lasted hours, even though my mind kept telling itself that it was at peace.
It was in the dead of night, when I gathered a few of my belongings into a knapsack, throwing it over my shoulder before leaving out the tattered window of my private space.
I ventured to the canyon, with the moons lighting my way. The planet was never truly dark, due to the brightness and the number of shinning moons, all the color silver.
I set my knapsack down on the edge beside me. By the end of this, I would be at the bottom, waiting to be found the next day. I just hoped it wouldn't be anyone I knew. Of course, the number of people who ever came out here was only two. Me, and Din Djarin.
I hoped he wouldn't find me. I hoped it would be someone from another tribe that was flying over, and happened to spot something at the base of the cliffside.
I pulled my flask to my mouth, taking a large drink. A bit spilled onto my chin, and I wiped it off, feeling the breeze on my face. It was much colder now than earlier tonight. I wasn't sure if I should pull the blanket from my belongings and wrap it around myself, or skip the process of making myself comfortable and just get this over with.
I leaned over, looking straight at the ground, hundreds of feet below me. My heart started racing, and I got scared. Why shouldn't I be? I have every right to be absolutely terrified. I closed my eyes, trying to scoot myself over the edge inch by inch, seeing if I would just drop.
I nearly panicked when my bottom hit a crack in the ground and I thought I was going over. My breath hitched in my throat and I instantly pulled myself back.
"This isn't as easy as I thought it would be," I murmered, beginning to feel the emotional side of everything rise to the surface again. It didn't help that with the absolute silence that circled around me, I couldn't have any single thing to distract me.
I stood to my feet, wrapping my arms around myself to ease the goosebumps rising on my skin from the frigid air.
I stood right on the edge, lifting a foot over and leaning forward, but before I could fall, I again caught myself, the adrenaline working overtime in my system and beginning to heat me up.
That wasn't going to work either. If I could, I would put a blaster to my temple and pull the trigger, but then it wouldn't look like an accident.
I paced around back and forth a few times, trying to calm myself down, to stop the whimpering and to make my tears cease. It wasn't working. I just needed to get this over and done with. A new life, with endless possibilities was waiting for me on the other side. Freedom was on the other side.
I wiped my face, even though it didn't stop me from crying, but it helped me to see clearer. I backed up, into the cavern, all the way inside until my back hit the wall of the ex artillery carvern. This was it. A new beginning. Rebirth. New life. Freedom.
I ran as fast as I could toward the edge, my eyes closed. I could feel the wind blowing against me even harder with my speed, and I could tell the edge was drawing near. Every step I took, I felt as though it was my last one.
I finally felt my foot hit the edge, but then I never fell. Instead, I was tackled to the ground. Whoever landed on top of me was heavy enough to hold me down, because half of me was hanging off the edge of the cliff.
I didn't dare even open my eyes. This was a sign. Someone stopped me.
I clinged onto whoever it was, and knew almost instantly who was laid over me when I heard him groan.
I cried even harder, my head buried in his armor clad chest, and my arms around his neck and his torso.
He was holding me tightly, one hand cradled my head into his neck, and the other firmly gripped my waist. He rolled us both over and I swear I felt him shaking.
"What were you thinking?" He stressed, his grip on me tightening as if he was scared to let go. I was scared too. I didn't want him to let go.
"You have to talk to me..."
I heaved a deep breath, deep enough to steady my voice so my whimpering didn't interfere with my words.
"I want out. I need to get out," I cracked in the middle of saying so few words, but they conveyed the message I was trying to get through.
"I can get you out, I promise.... But please don't ever try that again," His voice was full of worry, and as I suspected, he was trembling in fear.
"I'm sorry..." I cried some more, realizing that what I had done was now the biggest mistake I ever made, even if I was saved.
"It's okay. You're okay. I've got you," He spoke to me, my voice quieting down as my sobbing came to a slow halt.
I lifted my face from where I had burrowed it into his neck, looking up at him. I didn't know what his expression was, but something told me it was fearful, and worrysome.
"I have to get out of here," I repeated again. The last day or so it became my mantra, and would leave my lips often, even just to myself. Mostly just to myself.
"You're going to. You're going with Merc... when are they leaving?" He asked, his arms still around me like mine were for him.
"At sunrise. They're gonna jump a delivery ship on the north tarmac," I explained, my voice was now hoarse and thick, due to not only all the crying I had done, but also the cold night air that had entered my lungs.
"Sunrise isn't for a few hours..." he let me know, and I nodded, knowing we shouldn't probably leave yet, for the walk to the north tarmac wasn't very long from here.
"Din, if I leave, my family is going to get the fire for my decision. I can't let that happen," I told him, my voice had become more firm, and I needed to convey the importance of how much this meant to me.
"I give you my word, that as long as I live, nothing will happen to your family," He swore, and I could just feel his eyes staring into mine. So much so that for the first time since he put that helmet on, I knew where his eyes were.
"I trust you. And I know that you'll always keep your word," I nodded, a small smile finally forming on my face.
Since it got fairly quiet, and we were still entangled together, I scooted off of Din and opted instead to take the seat beside him.
"I should tell you some things before I go. I just don't want to leave anything unresolved," I admitted, and he stayed silent, waiting for me to continue.
"I know this might sound horrible, but I hated the idea of getting too close to you. It was like if I had formed an emotional bond with you, I wouldn't be able to leave anymore. And the last thing on my mind had been to stay. I've wanted freedom for a while now, I was just always too scared to say anything. And when my father told me that you and him had come to an agreement for arranging a marriage.... it's like it all became more real to me. My freedom would be taken in just days. The creed of mandalore is sacred, and it's truly an amazing thing... but it isn't for everyone."
He sat and took everything in. All the words that just spewed from my mouth like I had been holding them in for ages went against everything I had ever learned. Everything that had ever been put into my mind was the opposite of what I wanted.
"You're young. You want more than what the creed can offer you. I think you'll be able to find what you want wherever you're going," He said, I knew there was more, for he didn't even mention anything that I had said about not wanting to be close to him, but when he stayed silent, I knew he was finished, and that I still had more to say.
"Din, I wanted to tell you that if I had to be married, I wouldn't have minded it being you," I admitted. I would leave no stone unturned before I was to just pick up and leave forever... maybe not forever, maybe someday I would return to my family, to Din.
"I can't say I don't feel the same," He seemed to become stiff next to me, but I soon found the reason when he suddenly reached for my hand with his gloved one.
I took it proudly, intertwining our finhers together.
"You know, I was only an eight year old kid when you took the creed. I have so many memories of you yourself, but whenever I recall them... I can't see your face. I've completely forgotten what you look like," I laughed a bit, though it was quite a sad thing actually. I could not remember him in a way that wasn't covered in metal. I remembered that he was a boy once, and that he would play with all the younger children in the clan set next to his. He played with me and the kids I lived next to. He was a lively, energetic boy. Always doing something... sometimes causing mischievous acts. He was so different now. But the change wasn't bad. Since he'd taken the creed he has been the most noble, fearsome, and trustworthy member of his clan. Completely honorable in every sense of the word.
"I don't look like I used to. It wouldn't do you any good to remember anyways," He chuckled under his helmet, and it brought a smile to hear the melodic sound.
"Well, if I'd stayed long enough to marry you I would find out for myself," I leaned my head on his shoulder, feeling comfort by his presence. If I had made the absolute decision to leave this planet earlier, I could have let myself grow a relationship with him. Romantic or not, he was easy to talk to, and I trusted him. He was a friend to me, and I never imagined more, but now his presence was just something that put me at such ease.
"Do you think you'll ever come back?" He pondered, seeing as just the tiniest moonrays shown down into the canyon ahead.
"Someday. I'll comeback and repay you."
"For what?"
"Saving my life," I replied. My attempt to throw my own life away had been pushed away but I had to bring it up. I owed him my life.
"Anyone would have done the same if they had seen," He insisted, and I shook my head.
"How did you even know I was out here?" My curiosity got the better of me, and I asked for an explanation.
"I couldn't sleep, I took a walk through Ronion until I found myself here. I saw you across from the mesa on the south side... I saw you lift your foot over the edge, I knew what you were trying to do," He said, his grip on my hand got tighter almost instantly.
"Thank you. If you hadn't been there, I would be at the bottm of this canyon." I let so much seriousness onto my voice, and it didn't sound like me.
"Don't thank me yet... not until I get you on the tarmac,"
We sat in silence after that, just looking out over the horizon. When the slightest bit of light hit the edge of the planet, we stood to our feet, gathering my knapsack and begining the journey to the north delivery tarmac.
We were there in no time, and before I could even look for them, Merc and his crew were in sight. They were all sitting with their backs against some cargo imports, waiting for the transport to arrive.
"Well, well, well... look at what the shriek hawk dragged in," Shyloh said, gesturing to me and Din.
"Djarin, I didn't expect to see you here," Merc raised an eyebrow at the sight.
"I'm just here to make sure she gets onto the transport safely," He assured them. I looked out of the corner of my eye, and in the brighter horizon I was able to see a cargo ship coming into the landing area.
"Our rides here," I said, and they all jumped up. Since the ships were automatically run, and don't even require droids, it was often very easy to hop aboard and be carried to another destination. Of course, there were only a few who ever wanted to leave.
I myself hadn't ever left Mandalore, neither had I traveled much even on the planet. Only a few trips to visit the the markets with my father. I never even went into the city, for it was told that in the city lived Mandalorians who did not keep the creed. The tribes were convinced that they hadn't actually ever taken the oath, and just wore the armor for the sake of doing it.
The ship's doors opened, pulling me out of my thoughts, and a conveyer belt folded down to let the cargo units be carried out onto the tarmac for later pickup.
"Alright, it's time to head out," Gander said, slinging his knapsack over his shoulder and boarding the transport.
The rest followed after him, but I still had one thing left to do.
Din looked at me, waiting for me to join the others, but I came close to him one last time.
"You promise my family will be taken care of?" I asked, to which he simply answered with a firm nod. However the look on my face gave him reason to believe that his answer wasn't good enough, so he spoke instead.
"I give you my word. If they are not taken care of, I will let you strike me dead where I stand."
That was good enough for me. He truly meant it. He was a man of his word.
I pulled his head toward mine, resting ny forehead against his in a traditional mandalorian kiss. I pulled back when I heard my name being called from the transport.
"Goodbye, Din Djarin," I told him.
He didn't respond, he just let me go, watching intently as I boarded the ship before the doors closed.
The cargo transports were always on schedule, so as soon as the doors closed, it began lifting into the air. I looked out through the transparent view finder on the side, watching him stand as we began moving out of sight.
"You gonna miss him?" Shyloh asked, his brows furrowing as if he were sorry for me.
"Yes, I suppose I will."
I lost sight of Din, and realized we were leaving the atmosphere most likely preparing for a jump to hyperspace.
"But I'll see him again."

A/n: please don't get too caught up in the age gap y'all it's just for backstory purposes because this story is eventually going to follow canon events.... (also i know that this doesn't really portray Mandalore correctly, but let's pretend it does because i had this idea)

A Goose Chase
Blame @graythemoth for this. They're the one who got me into this fandom.
TF2 Medic x Reader
Warnings: There's some talk of vague medical-ness in the beginning, and allusions to Archimedes's tendency to sit inside people's ribs. The main plot is the medic trying to find his bird, so there's some anxiety over a lost pet, but everything is fine. Gender-neutral Reader, but there is a pet name used in a masculine form. (I don't know if there are gender neutral alternatives in german >-<)
Soldier was somehow even more insufferably patriotic when he was loopy, Medic mused, calmly wiping the blood off of his operating table. The attempt to completely change the man's blood type had taken him longer than originally anticipated, but Medic was reasonably sure that Mr. Doe wouldn't keel over and die because of the experiment. At least 70% sure.
Either way, what was done was done, and now all the doctor had to do was finish tidying up the lab, and make sure he himself was presentable.
A simple enough task of course, now that Soldier was gone and no longer rambling about how the constitution was his favorite color. Quite frankly, he was surprised the soldier could pronounce the word constitution.
Pushing his glasses up his nose, he idly called out for Archimedes as he put away his tools. It wasn't until everything was away and the drawer was closed, that it hit him that Archimedes had not only not come to his call, but hadn't so much as cooed back at him.
"Archimedes? Where have you gone?" He had assumed the dove would be flitting around the lab somewhere. He was relatively sure that his pet couldn't have found its way into the soldier's chest without him noticing. And yet he couldn't find a sign of him anywhere in the lab. The doctor adjusted his gloves, assuring himself that Archimedes had likely flown out of the lab and gotten closed out. A simple solution for why he was not here. Occam's Razor and all that.
He knew himself well enough to know that if he started stressing about this too much, he'd start snapping at whoever was helping. Heavy didn't deserve that. Perhaps Scout could help instead? No, even with his speed, asking him to help would not be worth it at the moment. for now.
And so the doctor was left on his own, his only company being the quick click of his shoes on the floor as he searched.
Archimedes would not have just flown off. There's no reason that would be the case. He knew very well how much it enjoyed the lab and the experiments. Of course, it would still be here. Somewhere. He just had to find it.
Perhaps he had ended up closed in someone's room by accident? Most people's doors were kept closed usually, so it was completely feasible. Medic began checking through the other Mercs' room immediately.
The rooms were either empty both of mercs or Archimedes, or he was promptly yelled at for bursting in without permission. Or course he left only after checking if Archimedes was perhaps there. There was no sign of him.
Your room was at the end of the hall, the last he checked. If all his coworkers were on a scale, you were certainly on the end with those that had achieved some of his real respect. So he did not slam your door open at least, but he did still burst in, just slightly gentler.
The scene in front of him caught him by surprise though. You were looking up at him from where you were laying on your bed, looking as if you'd just woken from a nap. He was struck for a moment by how soft you seemed, with your hair a mess and your eyes half-open, looking at him confused.
He did not muse on that fact for long though, as there were more important matters at hand. Namely, the fact that Archimedes was tucked comfortably in your arms, looking as smug and content as a bird could. Even with the medic bursting in, the dove simply curled against your chest. Perhaps he was getting fond of the feeling of heartbeats? It couldn't have been as strong when he wasn't resting against the heart itself.
"Archimedes? What are you doing bothering them? When did you get in here, you had me worried quite sick!" He felt a sting of regret when your eyes went wide and you properly sat up.
"I'm sorry doc! He was sitting with me when I was out in the kitchen and followed me in here and I fell asleep and didn't think about the fact that he was just missing as far as you knew. I'm so sorry!"
He waved off your apologies quickly. "Don't you worry mein lieber, it isn't your fault in the slightest, I apologize for waking you." Your voice was rough with sleep still and there was a part of his brain telling him to pull the blanket back around your shoulders and let you sleep longer. He compromised by holding out his hand for Archimedes and speaking up again. "I'm awfully sorry if he was bothering you while I had been busy. He seems to have forgotten his manners."
Archimedes, the comfy-looking traitor, simply cooed.
"He's been a dear, it's fine! We were just napping, he wasn't getting into any trouble," You assured him with an earnest, if sleepy, nod.
Medic couldn't quite tell if he was frustrated that Archimedes did not come when asked, or if it was simply the fact that he himself would rather be curled up with you.
No. He drew the line at getting jealous over a bird. He had more dignity than that. And since when did he want to be curled up with you? That was usually the type of thought he quickly dismissed, he had no time to be entertaining thoughts like that about his coworkers. It did not matter how soft you looked or how much his birds liked you or how sweet you sounded when you were tired.
"If he is not a bother, I'll let him stay. Let me know if he is ever being a nuisance though, I will handle it, of course." He nodded swiftly and turned to leave your room without waiting for a response. He needed to focus on something other than you. Even if everything else seemed a drab alternative at the moment.

How would yandere mercs react to us trying to escape late at night?
Well not well that's for sure!
Yan!Mercenaries (TF2) × Reader hcs/ imagines
// Yandere themes, violence, fear play, yandere shit
Defense
Demo
You got out of Demo's bed, you had given him more alcohol than usual to keep him asleep. You looked over the heavily snoring figure beside you. The scot had his mouth wide open and a bottle of beer cluched in his palm. You leaned in and blew on his eye to make sure he was asleep, and there was no physical response from him. You then quickly slipped on your clothes and pulled out the small bag you've been hiding behind the nightstand, it was filled with money and other essentials like pepper spray, sunglasses, and a cloak.
You walked out of the room, taking one last look at the scot before tiptoing out of the house, avoiding scattered empty alcohol containers on the ground.
Just as you were about to leave, you heard a voice from behind you
"y/n? What are ye doing?"
He was drunk of course, but when wasn't he? It was like he was sober in his own way. Sober enough to recognize that guilty look on your face. His expression twisted into an angry snarl and he grabbed you by the wrist, dragging you down the stairs into the basement
"you'll stay here till you know how to listen"
He said trying to conceal his anger, but failing to do so
He could also just have a breakdown depending on the type of night it was and guilt you into staying
He will be a lot more strict on you
Tumblr media
Heavy
You were looking to escape in the night but heavy lives in an eternal blizzard basically so... That's not a great idea
But lets say you've been preparing for awhile and got everything set up, a snow mobile, warm clothes, and a torch
But the moment you get to the shed, you find that your snow mobile is broken
Heavy then appears out of a corner of darkness with an upset expression
It's silent for a moment, until he speaks
"After all Heavy has done for you? Why?"
You felt guilt building up into your throat as you tried to search for an excuse. Unable to find one. He isn't a very restricting yandere, in fact, he's much tamer than most, he's given you basically all he has and to do this is like a slap in the face.
"Heavy will forgive you, if you just come back" he said while smiling
You were then gently pushed back out into the cold in the direction of his house, where you'd be staying once more
If he was in a bad mood, he'd be a little more rough
He also will place more restrictions on you but it's not like you'd notice considering it's not much
Engineer
You were about to leave in your car at night, when you tried turning it on, it wouldn't start. Engie then walks in front of your car and waves at you for you to come out, which after hesitating, you comply.
He walks over to you and hugs you, which confuses you. He tells you it's alright and that you don't have to go
"I'm sorry but, I want to leave" you stutter out
He panics internally and grips your shoulder, looking you in your eye
"do you know what could happen to you out there? Rapists! Murderers! The world ain't sugar n' honey, darlin"
"but-" you respond, suddenly cut off by him
"but you're safe here with me. I'll always protect you"
He hugs you once again, sucked into that warm embrace, you calm down and walk back with him
You were restricted from certain things from then on
Offense
Scout
You got into a fight with him earlier and in the middle of the night, you decided it was time to leave.
You packed a bag of clothes, some water, money, and other essentials
As you got your keys, you were met with a sleepy eyed scout who had bedhead
"Y/N....? The hell are ya doin?"
It takes a second for scout to process what's going on. You're grabbing your keys, you're fully dressed, and you had a suitcase with you
"Jeremy. I'm leaving*
You said sternly. You could see in his eyes that his heart shattered into a million pieces
"Wai- what no! No no no no! Please y/n you gotta stay please!"
He begged, grabbing onto your coat as you began to walk out. Tears formed on his face but you ignored it
"I can't put up with this anymore"
You said, voice cracking from the pain in your heart. Scout was sobbing now, he kneeled in front of you to stop you
"I'm so sorry I'm so sorry! I'll change I swear I'll become better! You want to go to eat out more? I got the money! I'll treat you nicely!"
You didn't believe a word he said, but with the way he was talking, it had to be true.
"Please I love you so much and it would kill me to lose you... Literally... You're my world to me, baby"
You bit your quivering lip as you looked down at him like he was a sad puppy. You sniffled and dropped your bags, huffing in defeat
".. I'm sorry. I'm just tired"
Scout was overjoyed to hear this. That night he clung to you
Scout didn't really become more strict, but he did become more loving to avoid that again.
Pyro
This one is scary, scarier than support classes even
You were almost out the door when they spotted you. They gave you an inquisitive look. You both shared a minute of uncomfortable silence before you bolted out the door. Pyro was unprepared for this, giving you some time to create distance between you two.
But Pyro was quick to get ready and they were out the door in no time with their flamethrower, ready to burn down acres of forests in order to catch you
You could hear pyro approaching, knowing that once you reach your car at the end of the base, you'll be safe and free.
While you were running, it seemed like their footsteps had been fading ever since they've gotten louder. Until you couldn't hear it anymore. You didn't pay any mind to this since your objective was just getting ti your car
When you arrived at the boarders of their territory when you stopped in your tracks
Pyro was leaning over their axe by the car, looking smug as ever. You looked towards your car and gasped.
Pyro had shredded the tires and broke open every window so you couldn't escape. You stood there as pyro approached you and swept you up in their arms, snuggling their mask into your neck the entire way home while you couldn't help but softly sob
Soldier
Soldier would lose his shit
He's already super strict, forces you to get up at 5 am every morning and run laps like you're in the military, makes you eat either MRE packets or home cooked food and you better hope it's an MRE pack because he cannot cook
So when he sees you at your car late at night, he screams at the top of his lungs enough to scare you into shock
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING, MAGGOT? GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT!"
I could see this going one of two ways, either complying or he has to chase you down (which he will)
If he has to chase you down, he won't be happy about it, and become even more strict than before (which I don't think is possible but it's soldier)
Support
Sniper
You... What?
How did you even get the idea that you could escape?
You live in his fucking van, you won't have a car other than his van
But lets say you saw the chance for escape, and tried to take it. You either got shut down the moment you got out of bed or you were lucky enough to get far away from the van
"get your bloody ass back to bed" is something he'd say if he shut you down the moment you stood up
But this man is a sniper, he can scope you out easily, and he won't hesitate to use a tranq on you
After that, you're back in the chains
Spy
Scary
Did you really think you could?
He knew you were gonna escape before you even escaped
He'd make very subtle remarks about it and remind you of what he could do
"Do you remember about the undercover mission in Spain back when I was working for the government that I told you about? When I was able to find the traitor using three clues. Even after all his records were erased"
Subtle shit like that to remind you who's in control
But lets say you didn't take the hint, and you decided to try and escape anyways
He'd catch you in the living room trying to escape, and send you back to bed
Or, you'd get lucky and be able to run away, meaning he'd be on a job
Trust me, he will find you within 48 hours, 24 if you aren't moving that much
He's very manipulative so he'd try to make you feel bad about it.
Much more strict afterwards
Medic
I have a feeling he'd already knowz but not to the extent that spy does
He notices your behavior, and how you're starting to become a bit more.. energetic?
Anyways, like spy, he'll warn you subtly
"You seem to always find yourself injured in any way. And like they say, a medic can track an injured person like a gps system, ja?"
If you decide to escape, he'll have some fun with you definitely. He'll late you run far enough to think that you're finally free, before he catches you and brings you back. He's sadistic.
He'll laugh at your face and degrade and humiliate you, making you regret ever trying
After that, he's much more strict, and demanding from you
Bonus cause I wanted to: Pauling
Pauling like spy, can track people very easily
I wouldn't even be surprised if she convinced medic to help put a tracker in you
Well, she'd be at work checking your location every hour. And the moment she finds out that you're not in the house but at a motel, she's pissed.
She has to quickly finish up work before taking her time to go catch you, and trust me, if Pauling takes time off work for something it's important
Once she finds you, she tells you to come out, trying to keep it civil. When you don't, she ends up busting through the door and taking you herself.
On the way home, she complains about how you worried her and made her miss some work like a parent going to pick up their sick kid from school
She eventually cools off after she gets you home, but she is definitely more strict
Gify was acting up so I couldn't download any more gifs 😭
Anyways feel free to request again!

Safe: Ezra x f!reader w/Cee
A/n: What can I say? I'm hormonal and all my shit hurts and if I cannot get snuggles IRL then I will write something super soft and self-indulgent to make myself feel better. Part of the Prickle AU. Set sometime after Sacellum.
Warnings: Oh no! There's only one bed. Soft!Ezra. Language. Cee's best friend on The Pug is non-binary and also named after my little boy's favorite stuffy. Maybe the slightest bit of angst. But mostly super soft.
"You did this on purpose." "Right hand to Kevva, I did not. I asked for double occupancy and they must have misunderstood and--" "You don't have a right hand," "Let's go back to the reception desk," says Ezra, "We may be able to negotiate more appropriate accommodations." "Errgh," you groan. Reception had been a nightmare, three freighters worth of traffic trying to secure berths all at once. It was a lot of people. Too many for your liking. Cee was staying with Kit and their family. Kit and Cee had practically tackled each other right there on the dock, everyone else forgotten, walked away arm in arm. "We shove off in three cycles," Ezra hollered at her retreating back, and she flapped a dismissive hand at him. You had to smile. For three cycles Cee gets to be a normal teenager hanging out with her best friend without worrying about points and pulls and overhead costs and fuel margins. "I don't wanna go back down there," you say, "Too many people. I think twice the population of Falnost was waiting in that fucking line." You brush past him and into the suite. The ceilings are low and slightly curved and it feels strange to be under this much grav. The outer rings of Puggart Bench have something close to terra-normal gravity, but after so much time spent on little moons and worldlets, this much G feels weird and you have no desire to trudge back down to reception. "You sure?" Asks Ezra. "Yeah," you drop your day bag and press a hand to the mattress. "Look at the size of this thing. It's, like, five crash-couches wide. This seems above our pay grade." "They're overbooked," says Ezra, "We're paying the same points for the berth we should have gotten. I made sure of it. I can sleep in that recliner if--" "No." "No?" "Kevva, Ez, we're both adults," you say, "I think we can share a bed for a night without exploding."
Your suite has a real, honest-to-Goddess shower with a generous 15 minute timer. You scrub as fast as you can and then just let the water hit you, let the pressure pound on your tense back muscles until the chime sounds and the water cuts off. You towel off and dress, soft clothes you sleep in, and pad out into the main room. Ezra is reading, face far off and serious, and you just look at him for a minute, illuminated in the warm lamp-light, absorbed in his book, little furrow between his brows and then he looks up, all knowing smirk and dancing eyes, he's caught you staring. "Your turn, Ez," You say and turn your face away. Kevva. This man. You've been trying to keep things professional, but it's a losing battle. His flirtations make you flush, but he's never tried to push you, never tried to leverage the fact that it's his name on the ship's title, that you signed a contract, that you are junior-most crew. You feel safe with him. And, from your limited experience in the fringe, that is a miracle in itself.
Ezra sets his book aside and heads for the bathroom. You peel the sheets from the other side of the bed and settle in. There's a media player bolted to the wall, but you just want quiet. You switch off the lamp on your nightstand (we both have lamps, we both have a nightstand, how weird is that?) The sheets feel deliciously cool against your skin. To be clean and sleeping in clean sheets...if Heaven isn't like this Kevva's got some answering to do. Ezra sings in the shower. You're barely awake and you smile. Ezra can't carry a tune in a bucket, singing fringeling songs and reels, stories of mercs and pirates and ghosts and you drift off to the sound of him, the sound of the water running.
He sees you soft and loose and asleep. No rail-gun, no body armor, no thrower under your pillow. Your face slack, snoring slightly. You've kicked out of the blankets and lay curled as if chilled. "Hey Artichoke," he murmurs, pulls the blankets up and tucks them around you, "Let's get you warm, yeah?"
Ezra wakes. Bleared red numbers of the clock saying that this is still the deepest ditch of local night. Ezra is warm and confused. He feels you pressed against him, your chest to his back, an arm hooked around his middle, your legs entwined with his. You've sought him out in your sleep and folded yourself around him, your breath slow and steady against his nape. Ezra's eyes prick with tears. He can't remember the last time he's been held like this. He's had lovers. He has payed for sex on the less reputable Benches of the Great Arm, but for someone to hold him? For someone to touch him without payment, without trying to press some advantage, gain some kind of leverage, without priming him for the inevitable backstab? He is overwhelmed. He tries to wriggle away from you, but your arm just tightens around him. "...fixed the transponder," you mutter against his neck, "told you we didn't need...told you..." He pats your arm and relaxes against you. "Okay, Artichoke, okay, sweetheart. Go back to sleep."
You wake enfolded, Ezra's good arm wrapped around you. You feel the steady beat of his heart beneath your ear, the slow sussurration of his breath, the snores that catch in his throat and turn to murmurs, the rise and fall of his chest beneath your cheek. You've tucked yourself against him in your sleep. Your hand rests on his sternum. Oh Kevva. What are you doing? You go rigid. Your first impulse is to wrestle out of his hold, take one of the blankets and install yourself in the recliner that you wouldn't let Ezra take, but part of you wants to stay right here in the combined warmth of your bodies, feeling his breath, his heart, his calloused palm spread against your shoulder. You shift, making the smallest effort to pull yourself away and his arm tightens further, a low, sleepy chuckle reverberates through his chest. "Hi Ez," "Hi." He strokes the pad of his thumb along the exposed curve of your shoulder. "I'll get up," you say, even as he shifts and cups the back of your head in his palm, tucking you closer. "You don't have to," he says, voice rough with sleep. This gesture pricks at your heart. Coming up on Falnost has made you hard, guarded, there has been precious little gentleness in your life, pulling rocks out of the parched ground since you were big enough to lift a shovel. Learned to fight and shoot to chase water-thieves from the homestead. He strokes the back of your head like one might pet a skittish cat and your heart squeezes. "Ezra?" You hate how small your voice sounds, you hate the uncertainty you hear there, "Are we okay?" "Of course we are," he says, "Why wouldn't we be?" "I wrapped around you like a Bueller's world python and I did it in my sleep-" "The wrapping was mutual-" "You're not mad or uncomfortable or anything?" He laughs again, gentle huff of breath against the crown of your head. "Mad about waking with you in my arms? The day I'm mad about that you can just shoot me in the head and send me to Kevva because I will surely have lost my ever-loving mind." You smile against his skin and relax some, your hand unfists and you curl your arm around his soft belly, feel his breath hitch. "Tickles." "Sorry." You feel yourself drift, skirting the edge of sleep. He is warm and solid and you let yourself relax against him. “This feels...safe..." you say, so close to sleep that you're not sure if you've said it aloud or if you've just thought it. And you're not sure if you hear his response or dream it, one word. Always.
"She's late," says Ezra. "We still got a sixteenth to button up and board," "Still," says Ezra, "Yon freighter will leave with our pod wether we're strapped in it or not." You see Cee and Kit, trailed by Kit's parents, weaving through the crowd. Cee is beaming, her blonde hair has a brilliant streak of blue, and Kit has a matching streak in their hair. "Hey guys!" Cee hugs Ezra and then hugs you. "How was your shore leave, Little Bird? I like the fancy hair." "Isn't that cool? We've got matching streaks," says Cee. "It's semi-permanent," says Kit, "We'll pick a different color next time!" You have to smile. Cee looks revitalized. Three cycles spent with her friend, just doing normal kid things has been good for her. "Check this out!" says Cee and pushes a laminated drawing towards the two of you. Ezra makes a show of looking carefully. "I recognize you and Kit," he says, "I am not familiar with these other people, though." "They're from The Streamer Girl, dumbass," says Cee, "Here's Clo and Reive and Lily and Auri. See? Kit put us right in the story." Ezra gives Kit his best smile. “You drew this? You are very talented." Kit smiles big. "Thanks!" says Kit, "I'll put you guys in the next one! Maybe you could be professors at Bowsun Academy or something." "I look forward to it," says Ezra. "Time to go, Cee," you say and Cee and Kit exchange one more enthusiastic hug. "Later fringeling!" Calls Kit. "Piss off, stationer!" Cee calls back. Ezra curls his fingers around yours and squeezes. Cee tells you all about her three cycles with Kit, the movies they watched, the Real Food they ate. How Kit's little brother wanted a blue streak in his hair too and Kit's parents said no and how mad he got. I wanna be cool like Kit and Cee. "I told him he's got plenty of time to be cool," says Cee, "And he told me that I don't understand how the world works. He's like, four." Ezra laughs. "Wise for his years." Says Ezra. And the three of you fall quiet. You find the pod much as you left it, towed to the Polly Jean and clipped in, transferred by the station's tugs. You settle in and do a full systems check. Calling out the checklists and making sure everything is good for transit. "What are you guys so happy about?" asks Cee. "Whatever do you mean?" asks Ezra. "You been all smiles since I hit the dock," says Cee, "Both of you. Did we score a really good job? Did we win the Puggart Bench lottery or something? What aren't you telling me?" "That," says Ezra, "Is for us to know and you to endlessly speculate about." "Hmph," says Cee.

Spoiler free and spoiler review of Morbius from a comic lover’s perspective.
Okay, you know how this works. Spoiler free is up here. Spoilers will be under the cut. You have been warned!!!
First of all... WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST WATCH?! WHAT WAS THAT? IT CERTAINLY WASN’T MY FAVORITE CHARACTER OF ALL TIME. NOPE. Spoiler free: Reviews saying it was confusing were not lies. It was a mess. Scenes felt like they were written by entirely different people and then thrown together, characters seem to have no relationship to one another, actors don’t express emotion except Matt Smith who is an absolute mad lad and I can’t hate him. Worst crime is there’s characters who seem entirely like a waste, they never get to really serve any pivotal role, and you get the sinking feeling that there was a board of Sony executives with a wishlist sitting and picking apart the script. The entire feeling of the film is ‘marketing decision’ and the ending is the least satisfying cinematic ending I’ve seen since The Lost World.
So, onto the spoilers
PLOT: The only things really in character for Morb are his sense of humor, altruism, and how much he absolutely gets the piss beat out of him. Other than that the character was unrecognizable and Leto’s stiff as a board acting did not help. The movie starts with the bat trap scene. You’ve seen almost all of it. Then childhood bits, cheesy but not the worst part of the film. Matt Smith’s character is Lucian, a kid who gets nicknamed Milo by a young Michael. We get not enough interaction to buy them really being friends then it’s onto the future. Morb is gifted, gets a scholarship, invents artificial blood, receives a Nobel prize which he refuses... god knows why. He’s a director at Horizon labs and working on his cure. Milo is an adult and funding his research. The two still speak but Matt Smith is the better actor here and carries the conversations. Martine also works at the labs and they aren’t together but there’s supposed to be chemistry... I guess? I wasn’t feeling it. So, boat, tests, mercs, change, growling with bad CGI, Nom nom nom, and they at least kept canon with the fact he jumps off the boat. He sneaks back to the labs, runs tests on himself. Feeds on artificial blood and leaves out his vials of the serum that changed him. Milo checks on him, insists on this cure Michael has and they fight about it. Cliche’s happen, obviously he steals a vial. Morb gets arrested, Milo visits him and lets it show that he used the serum. Morb vamps out and breaks out. They spend a lot of cam time on Milo turning evil, so much that for a bit I wondered if he was the main character. and OH MY GOD GUYS, the CG vampire head on Matt Smith is CRAZY. I had to hold in laughter. Milo and Morb fight, Milo kills ‘Nicholas’ AKA Jared Harris their older mutual mentor. Milo kills Martine, Morb finds her and drinks her blood. Are you ready for this shit? The cam shoes a drop of Morb’s blood falling to Martine’s lips... YEP. Milo has a final big fight with Morb where... GET THIS. HE WINS BY COMMANDING A SWARM OF BATS. I wish I made that up. Deus ex battica. Martine is showed waking from death, Morb flees the scene. Stroud stands around having done very little in the plot... and the credits roll. That’s it. Then we get post credit scenes where Vulture shows up, goes free, then approaches Morb to ask if he’d work with him. Morb is in the sinister six, I’m so fucking done... I rant for an hour on the way home and my own SPOUSE Says he thinks it wasn’t as bad as Venom. HERESY. Obviously that’s just an outline, there’s more to it but... Okay, where’s my notes. My reviewer points... yessir.
Acting: Bad, Tyrese Gibson is meh... Matt Smith is crazy and enjoyable. Everyone else is bad.
SFX: Some scenes look great, others the bodies ragdoll like rubber, or faces look ridiculous. It goes from bad to good so many times I had whiplash.
Plot coherence: It’s not great... I’m gonna be honest. I’ve read better fanfic.
Soundtrack: Sometimes booming when it doesn’t need to be, but overall servicable. Some is absolutely genius like the music Matt Smith dances to.
Accuracy to Morb’s canon personality: Not... really? I mean he actively manages to NOT really make any huge bad decisions after he wakes up on the boat and that’s just not the loser I know. Points for him making very dry jokes and getting bossed around by Martine.
Chemistry between characters: Hoo boy, no. Just no. When Morb and Martine kiss I was just like ..”Why?”
Whether they did anything innovative: The flight effects and the bullet time were retro but honestly cool. I can’t hate on them.
And whether they dropped any comic easter eggs for Morb fans in particular. I didn’t really catch anything. Even lab numbers I thought would correspond to Marvel issues... really didn’t. It was a meh. Overall 5/10 because it’s a good laugh watch. Now, I need to cleanse my brain with old comic issues.

not enough (part one)
Tumblr media
>part two<
paring: female!V x Johnny Silverhand
warnings: angst, coma, alcoholism, drug use, amnesia (there will be a happy-ish ending so don’t worry too much)
summary: after the whole shit show in mikoshi, V got out with her body and mind. but also an engram of the one and only Johnny fucking Silverhand and some good information. after months of planning she finally did what she promised to do.
note: okay so. I will be describing V as how my V looks like. but I will try to keep it to a minimum and you can just switch things up in your head as you read <3
————<•>————
Music was blasting just few rooms away and V could even feel the floor vibrating a bit. But it didn’t matter to her, as she held a warm hand in hers.
V looked up and smiled at the face of the man who only months ago was a parasite in her brain. A parasite turned friend. And later...
Her mind continued to replay their last conversation over and over again, during all this time without him.
“You will have to leave now, if you want to go back to your body” said Alt. Or rather what was left of her.
“But what about Johnny?! Can you get him back on the chip?” V asked, feeling desperate to know.
“V no. You leave this shit hole and live your fucking life. Don’t you even dare to try to put me into some fuckers head” Johnny said, arms crossed as he for a millionth time tried to tell V to just go on. But of course. When did the young nomad ever listen to him.
“Shut up Johnny! I was talking to Alt!” she yelled not even glancing at him as her eyes stayed trained on the woman.
“I can do it. During your useless banter I got inside Arasaka’s network. It seems they still have the body of Robert Johnathan Linden”
V was confused for a second why the guy mattered, when suddenly she got a flash of an very old memory from Johnny. Along with some embarrassment and anger.
Before she could question him, he pointed his finger at her saying “Don’t you even dare. Not a word, got it?”
She smirked but turned back to Alt “Okay where is it?”
“Outside the city. Nomad’s territory. It’s an old, private lab” Alt said.
“Okay I’ll find it”
“V—“
She turned towards Johnny saying “Not a fucking word got it? You promised to save my life and I said that I would take a bullet for you. This is the bullet Johnny”
He simply stared at her, before nodding “Alright, you fucking stubborn nomad. Just don’t kill yourself in the process, or we’ll be having words here. Got it?”
“Yeah, yeah I know. Now Alt, do I simply put the chip in his body?”
“Yes. But I have to warn you. During his time on your head, the chip got damaged. I fixed what I could but there are still some cracks”
“The fuck does that mean?” Johnny asked.
“Nothing too important. Slight memory loss or complete memory whipe of the time inside V”
“What...?” V asked, her heart dropping quite a bit. She wanted him to remember her. Remember them.
“Shit... okay I can live with that” Johnny said and walked over to V.
“But—“
“Shut up for a hot minute, kid. Now. I want to remember this time with you as well, no matter how boring it really was in the beginning. But if I won’t, then you’ll just have to tell me. And charm my pants off, again”
She laughed “Did I really charm your pants off? I don’t recall seeing you without them”
Johnny didn’t laugh, instead he leaned in and kissed her. It felt weird as they were technically data, but still it was perfect to them.
When he finally pulled away he just whispered “You sure did, sweetheart...”
“Johnny... I—“
“Shh... I know. Tell me up there in the world”
V nodded and said “I’ll help you remember. I promise, Johnny”
He smirked and touched her hand with his “I know, you stubborn nomad. Just know that... I’m sorry for how I might be when I wake up. Don’t be afraid to slap me if I really go overboard okay?”
“I handled a dick version of you who was trying to kill me once. I think that I’ll manage”
He laughed and nodded “You sure did... just V... I don’t want to be like that anymore. I don’t want to be in a room full of my friends who can’t stand me. I don’t want to be in a room with you and see you hate me...”
“I’ll never hate you Johnny. I’ll be there for you at all times no matter how much of a dick you’ll be okay?”
“Yeah. Yeah, okay. I trust you, sweetheart”
“Your time is up. You need to leave, take the chip with you” said Alt and before V could react she was back in her body.
V was staring at his hand again, her thumb drawing circles on it just as the door opened.
“Alright. That’s enough kid, you’re going out”
With a deep sigh V turned to see both Rouge and Kerry standing in the door.
“No. I’m waiting for him to wake up”
Kerry took a few steps towards the merc and put his hand on her shoulder “Rouge is right, V. You need to get out a bit, you’ve been here for two weeks”
She was silent as her grip over Johnny’s hand tightened.
“Please, honey. Let’s go for a walk at least. Or a ride to get something to eat” Kerry tried again, the worry on his face clearly visible.
“You won’t help Johnny if he wakes up to you looking like a corpse, at his bedside. So get your shit together, V” Rouge said. Even through her words here cutting, there was clear worry in her eyes.
V finally nodded and put Johnny’s hand back on the bed, as she stood up. Well tried to stand up. Because as soon as she moved, her head spun and Kerry had to catch her, before she smashed her head.
“Are you alright?” Kerry asked in pure worry as the nomad’s violet eyes almost rolled into her head.
“No she’s not. Come on, you we need to get her something to eat. I’m driving” Rouge said as she walked out the door, with Kerry picking up V and following her.
After that incident, both Kerry and Rouge were taking V out to eat and sleep out side the room in Afterlife where Johnny was.
Kerry basically moved V into his villa, along with her’s and Johnny’s cat. And Rouge was constantly getting V to sit beside her for at least few hours at Afterlife, as she was dealing with some mercs. Just to get her out of that room.
Judy and Panam also were constantly calling and messaging V, after Kerry and Rouge contacted them and told them what’s going on with the merc.
Panam came to sit around with V in the Afterlife. The bad blood between her and Rouge was quickly forgotten after the older woman saw how Panam was caring for the other nomad.
Judy preferred to visit V at Kerry’s villa whenever he was leaving. She didn’t even let the merc go to the bathroom alone, instead staying out side the door and getting V to keep the conversation going through the door.
One evening V and Kerry were sitting on one of his couches, with him playing and humming the same relaxing song that he did on the yacht.
“Hey, Kerry?” V asked as she stared at the way his fingers moved on the guitar.
“Yes, honey?” he asked immediately his eyes were on her.
She looked up and asked “Can you... uh... teach me how to play? I was thinking that maybe... Johnny would enjoy some music aside from the muffled banging at the Afterlife”
He smiled and his eyes got brighter as he nodded and moved closer to the young woman, saying “Of course! Okay so for now you’ll watch, then we’ll get you to try”
A week later, the nomad was already playing the one song that she learned on the guitar that she got from Kerry. She was even humming along as she sat in Johnnys room, her long black nails now short and her fingers covered by bandaids from how hard she was learning.
She grinned and said to him, while playing “I know that I’m shitty. But you told me that it was all about the feeling or whatever”
V looked down at the guitar and started playing once again, when suddenly she saw Johnny’s fingers twitch. She immediately stopped and put the guitar aside, rushing to his side and taking his organic hand in hers.
“Johnny? Can you hear me? Squeeze my hand”
There was nothing for a while, but then she saw him frown a bit.
Immediately she called Victor and told him to come, the same thing with Rogue and Kerry. She stayed by Johnny’s side, telling him to squeeze her hand and that he’s safe, that his friends will be there soon. That she’s with him.
Rouge was the first one to arrive, as she was already in Afterlife. She walked over to V asking.
“Did anything happen?”
“His fingers are twitching every now and then, he’s also frowning whenever I tell him to squeeze my hand” V explained as she moved to caress Johnny’s hair, that she kept trimmed the same way it was when he was in her head. Same goes for the beard.
As her hand moved to to tuck a stray hair behind his ear, he let out a sigh and stopped frowning, his whole body relaxing.
“Well damn... it’s like he’s responding to your touch, kid” Rouge said, while sitting on the couch in the room observing the still unconscious man.
V’s eyes went wide as Rouge smirked, the nomad looked back to the rocker boy and whispered “I’m here Johnny, just come back to me. I still need to kick your ass for making me wait so goddamn long, and for that time when you smashed my head against the window. And no. Just because you were nice later, doesn’t mean that you’re off the hook old man”
Victor arrived soon with Kerry following. As the ripperdoc worked, the others waited. V and Kerry were both pacing, being the “impatient assholes” as Rouge called them. But the Queen of the Afterlife was also getting a bit impatient, which caused her to lit up a cigarette.
“The fuck is this...?”
Everyone in the room stopped and looked at the blinking and confused rocker-boy in the room. He raised a bit to take in his surroundings.
“Johnny...” V said and came forward with Kerry following.
For a moment Johnny stared at V in silence, then he looked down at him organic hand and back at her saying.
“I know you... you’re V”
Just as V was ready to let out a breath of relief, Johnny added.
“You’re the chick who was here with me the whole time. The one who played that shitty music today... or was it yesterday? I don’t fucking know... so what you’re a fan or some shit? Or did we fuck once?”
Everyone went still in the room, even Kerry stopped smiling as he looked at V with worry. The merc’s face was neutral as she just turned towards Kerry saying to Johnny.
“How about Kerry and Rouge ease you into most of it. I need to go out for a bit” with that she stepped away and glanced at Victor “Check him and the chip, once more okay? Call me if anything will be wrong, or need to buy anything”
V then smiled shakily at the confused Johnny and left the room, ignoring Rouge and Kerry who moved to follow or stop her.
Around two hours passed with V drinking in the bar with Claire keeping her company. She didn’t call Panam or Judy cause she knew that they would freak out and act as if V couldn’t handle shit.
Of course it fucking hurt to see Johnny like that. And to just not recognise her. Of course it’s not like she didn’t know that it would happen, but that stupid ass brain of hers was hoping that Alt was wrong.
“Maybe I’ll get you some water?” Claire asked, the angel she was.
V looked up and said “Another Jackie Wells”
Claire smiled tightly and made the drink, sliding it towards V.
Looking down at the glass V smiled bitterly. The only way she could be around her best friend was to drink his stupid drink, that he made her so many times and the way he fucking knew that she didn’t like it.
She felt a hand on her shoulder and she turned to see Victor standing beside her stool.
“Is he alright? His arm working? I have another model ordered for him, but—“
“He’s fine physically. His arm will need replacing but for now it should be fine” Victor said, while sitting beside her on a stool.
“And how is he handling being in the future?” V asked, her mind clearing immediately from all the alcohol.
Victor sighed “Not well... but it seems like Rouge and Kerry know how to talk to him. But I want to know how are you? We know that there’s a small chance that he would remember but still. How are you holding kid?”
V laughed bitterly saying “You’re all acting as if he was my husband and not ex parasite turned friend...”
“V...”
“What do you want me to say Victor? Yeah it’s shitty, but I’m still gonna help him out and he beside him. I don’t care what he has to say about that. But I’m fucking staying!” she said and finished her drink, standing up “I promised him that I wouldn’t leave him. I promised him that I wouldn’t hate him...”
With that she patted Victor on the back and walked back to the back room where Johnny was. She walked in and everyone was looking at her immediately.
“Honey—“
“Kid—“
Both Kerry and Rogue started, but V spoke over them.
“How the star of the show?”
Johnny snorted and looked at her in interest “My fucking head hurts and I’m staring at the chick who was my incubator for weeks”
“Johnny” Kerry scolded, not being pleased with the choice of words.
“Basically. Here, have one” V said as she handed Johnny a cigarette. He looked up at her with a frown, as she shrugged “Near the end, when were connected my head hurt without a cigarette. You told me that it’s because of the lack of nicotine, that you had the same thing”
Johnny took the cigarette and lit it up, sighing in relief “Fuck... maybe there is some truth to what these two are saying”
“We told the truth, Johnny. Now it’s up to you to live up to where you were inside her head” Rouge said.
Johnny snorted and glanced at V saying “Please. Some nomad kid couldn’t change me that much. I was probably playing nice so that she wouldn’t off me”
“Fuck, Johnny” Kerry sighned.
“What Kerry? That’s what I would do!”
V sighed and counted to 10 inside her head, already knowing that dealing with Johnny is going to be tough.
And she was right.
For weeks V was helping Johnny get accustomed to the year 2078. She got him a job, while he was living in the room back in the Afterlife. He refused to live with Kerry and V in the huge mansion, instead preferred to be close to the party. She got him a new arm and gave him his clothes, weapon and car back, while sticking around trying to get through to him.
Even after V told him everything. Johnny only claimed that it was bullshit and continued on being an asshole.
Of course the merc left out all about the kiss and the nights they spend cuddled in her apartment, after learning that they could touch.
Johnny went through many stages with V.
First he was aggressive and pushed her around, telling her to fuck off and find a life. She annoyed him with the way she would fight back but never left him alone. Never hated him.
Second was ignoring. He would treat her as if she wasn’t there and even fucked another girl with her not far away in the bar. Still she kept being around. Didn’t hate him.
Third was trying to annoying and trying to fuck her constantly. He would filirt and be a sarcastic dick at the same time. He would touch her and tell her all about his impressive dick. Once against she was still around, without any reaction to his actions. Not hating him.
The fourth and current stage was using her. He would call her in the middle of the night for her to came and get his drugged or drunk ass from some chicks apartment, street or bar. Every call. Every time. Every hour. She was there and got him home safely. Without hating him.
Until now.
It was 3AM and V was looking around the alleyway where Johnny said he was in. And there he was. With a girl keeling between his legs, smirking at her.
Even when V thought that her heart didn’t shatter anymore. It was broken beyond repair during all these times with Johnny. She felt it shatter once again as she flinched in pain. Still she simply turned and went to the car to wait for him.
Few minutes later he was in her car, grinning. Some time into the drive he said something that triggered her for the first time.
“Sorry sweetheart. You were getting late and she was so so lovely. Blonde all that, exactly my type”
V flinched as she stared down at her dark skinned hands, and the thick black hair that reached her breasts. The exact opposite of the blonde woman.
Also the word he called her for the first time since...
I trust you, sweetheart...
Sweetheart.
She stopped the car near Afterlife, saying “Go. Afterlife is near maybe you’ll sober up a bit after a walk”
“Ahhh getting tired of me sweetheart?”
She doesn’t know how she even did it, but in a second she turned and slapped him harshly. Screaming at him for the first time since he came back.
“Fuck you Johnny! I know what you’re doing! You’re pissed that I don’t hate you like your friends did back in the day! How I’m not leaving like Alt did, when you got too difficult to fix up! Do you know how I fucking know?! Because you were inside my mind. I saw all that pain and loneliness you felt! I know it! You even told me about it although you knew that I knew!”
“You don’t know shit!” he yelled, only to get slapped again.
“Quite the opposite, Johnny! I know all of your shit! And I’m not leaving! Or hating you!”
“Why?! Why?! Why won’t you leave?!”
“Because I love you!” she screamed tears escaping her violet eyes “And you just keep on hurting me... I throught that I can handle it... but maybe I was wrong...” she added quietly, looking away from him.
Then she raised her hand and took off his glasses, to look into his dark eyes as she whispered “I’m sorry Johnny... I tried so hard... I’m sorry that I failed you... sorry that I wasn’t enough... I hope that maybe you will remember some day and stop being what you’re now... I love you, always”
Johnny was so stunned by what happened that he didn’t react to V kissing him gently behind the ear, where the chip was and whispering.
“I’m so sorry, my love...”
Then she pulled away and got out of the car, walking away with stunned Johnny still inside her car.
