Small continuation of "Take Your Mind Off Of The Journey" requested by the lovely @satans-beloved-riv , you enjoy this cute timestamp whilst I get through my last few weeks of college for this year!

It had been a few days since they had arrived at their destination. Finally, after long days of travel and cold nights camping - they had made it to the bustling city of their dreams. This was a capital, a place where the strongest mercenaries resided. It was always their dream to take jobs here. It didn't really take long for them to find a small place to stay near the city center, just a small home that must have been fresh built. The good thing about Chan and Minho picking up odd jobs on their travels is that they had a surplus of gold from completing those jobs.

The home was fairly large by their standards, with a total of six rooms. Most homes in towns and villages outside of the capital city had three rooms, four if you had the gold for it. They even had seperate bedrooms, now, which was certainly one of the bigger changes. It was their third week here in the city and they had just finished with some odd jobs. "Phew," Chan sighs "I'm shattered," he admits to his companion, removing his chestplate from his torso and propping it up on one of the chairs. "Me too, we've been working a lot lately... I need a break," it comes off as a joke, but Chan knows Minho isn't joking. "Yeah?" he asks, almost as if he's confirming something. Minho knows that means trouble.

"...yeah,"

Chan grins lightheartedly at his partner's hesitance. "No need to be so suspicious, Minho-yah," he chuckles and, oh, Minho is suspicious. Very suspicious. He's already ridded himself of his armor and is sat at their table in a maroon sweatshirt and plain brown trousers; he knows that Chan is up to something. "I'm just going to put my armor and stuff away.." he says, standing up before the older can do anything. Chan raises a brow but smiles nonetheless, "Alright,"

It's not that Minho doesn't trust him it's just.... exactly that. He doesn't trust Chan one bit. But he also doesn't trust himself. His companion is just so warm and welcoming that he finds it difficult to hide anything from him. And he has been a little anxious about their new life in a much bigger place with new co-workers like Hyunjin and Changbin, as well as a handful of other's he hasn't really spoken to. He and Chan had always stuck together, it had always been the two of them - he thought whilst he carefully loaded his armor onto a mannequin that was in the room when they moved there. He suspects that despite how new the building is, a tailor must have lived there beforehand.

"I can practically hear you thinking, y'know?" Chan interrupts Minho's thoughts, causing the younger male to squawk at the unexpected noise. Chan doubles over in laughter whilst his flustered partner huffs "Chan! You can't just scare me like that!" he scolds the older. "Minho, I know something's up. You don't have to be embarrassed, just tell me!" Chan smiles kindly. The younger male sighs and he shakes his head. Fortunately, his older companion had an idea. Pointing to the bed, Chan silently commands for Minho to lie down. He does. He knows where this is going. "I didn't want to have to do this.." Chan sighs, his tone teasy and the sparkle in his eye matches that glint. The maroon sweatshirt is pulled up and fingers lightly skitter across the lower part of Minho's tummy. "N-Nahhahahaa.. yohohou ahaharen't gohoing to t-tihihickle it out ohof me..!"

"Oh, but I am," there's a playful smile on Chan's lips as he continues to tickle the lower portion of Minho's tummy. His fingers soon travel up, scrabbling at his ribs just beneath his sweatshirt and the lee turns his head to the side to laugh. He's embarrassed, but he feels like he shouldn't be. This is Chan after all, the same Chan who always has his best interest in mind; the same Chan who always knows just what to say. "Eheheheeek! Chahahaan plehehehease cahahaan weehhehehe juhuhuhuhust tahahalk?" he requests, knowing he won't get any freedom for at least a little while. He was okay with that.

"C'mon, Minnie~" the older teases him with a nickname. "You know how to stop this.." he reminds the male on the bed as he leans up to wiggle his fingers beneath Minho's underarms. "B-Bahahahahaa! Wahahahahahait!!" Minho makes a sort of squeaking noise and his head falls back, a loud cackle leaving his lips as Chan refuses to let up. "Come ooon~" the older mercenary sings, but Minho wouldn't budge. It was mainly out of pride more than anything else. So, Chan continues. It would be a long evening, but at least Minho's thoughts are tamed for now.

“4. Fushiguro Megumi and the World’s Most Inconvenient Custody Battle: pre JJK0”

you see i love this. because — on one hand, megumi would be totally willing to throw hands with geto bc of his monkey issues. like megumi, who sister is one of those monkeys geto is trying to kill, would ofc hate geto BUT geto would ofc be interested in megumi bc of his technique. he would also (probably idk many toji traumatized these gay teens.) find it so funny to try & co parent the kid with gojo, who has no idea he’s co parenting rn.

in a happier world where toji learned to chill tf out or when yaga look at this depressed little man & signed that bitch up for therapy: gojo, shoko, & geto would absolutely adopt the fushiguro siblings. but ofc gege is a coward so he settled for satosugu adopting kids to cope after the kfc divorce when they could’ve raised those kids TOGETHERRR.

Geto’s entire reason for pressuring Megumi into the binding vow (he has to stay with his cult for a specific period of time with a lot of qualifiers) was very much because of his technique. He hadn’t realized Yuuta as a plan yet and the ten shadows was supposed to be the six eyes equal, so he thought he could give this emo middle schooler self-actualization and offer him a world that isn’t “be wizard indentured servant” and Megumi would unlock his full potential and be a heavy hitter for his cult army.

Except he put in all the work and got to the end of it and Megumi was like “oh. Yeah. I was only playing along because the binding vow literally requires me to. Y’all are still bonkers tho. You literally want to murder my sister. Thanks for the power ups, but uh. Gonna head out now.” And just. Leaves.

Like in Geto and gojos minds this was the custody battle of the century but the SECOND it comes to head Megumi is like “uuhhhh you’re mean to my sister” and fucks right off. Never a competition. Just total knockout. Tsumiki wins.

thinking on it more re: the future of the syndicate. that honestly would not be a bad starting point for a post-sriv rewrite story. bc the whole theme of ashes to ashes is about the past coming back to haunt you and going back to where things began. so it makes a lot of sense for the story after that to be about the future. maybe something along the lines of one of the syndicate’s competitors or partners or something coming for the saints bc their takeover messed some shit up. and this would also allow the saints to start interacting with the international criminal underworld.

Looking at some stuff for a plotbunny of mine, I incidently noticed this

With the expected differences in delivery and tones but bar that -

Rhea here is acting as if she knew what Jerry wrote in his diary, and is surprised her bro found out !

I’ve already supposed during WC, in general (and after her Seiros the Warrior stunt), Rhea ultimately thinks the world needs Sothis, because she cannot guide it to prosperity like the Goddess most likely would.

Still, because Rhea hasn’t completely given up on Fodlan yet, unlike Lehran, she still cares and offers her help to everyone around.

Rhea felt “safe” enough, at one point, to abandon her hair dye and use her real hair colour (maybe her real name too?), even if that used to spell certain doom a thousand years ago.

And then, she read Jerry’s diary.

And learnt why Jerry ran away, because bby!Billy isn’t “natural” and how it made him afraid. Especially afraid of her, someone who saved his life, someone he knew and worked with and apparently had a good relationship with for at least 300 years.

Of course the game follows this course, the second Billy becomes green Rhea is more and more insistent on making them sit to bring Sothis, because red herring and all -

But what if Jerry’s reveal also participated in her general feeling of hopelessness and resignation, at how only Sothis can save the world now?

People might be seeking Nabatean parts for power (breaking in to steal Seiros’s bones and actually the SoC?), people knowing they can find “power” in Nabatean blood, people knowing her niece has “special blood”, gross experiments using Nabatean parts (demonic beasts, even if they are using artificial crest stones), old enemies resurfacing in her own home (Solon) and now, that.

It’s not the final nail in the coffin (i suppose kind of similarly to Dimitri, Rhea’s final moment of despair is the Holy Tomb, aka humans really seeking Nabateans parts for power + a Hresvelg!) but she grows more and more desperate, the probability of another Red Canyon happening grows higher with each passing month -

The world is going to fall, someone she thought she could call an ally died, and lo, that someone had never been her ally (at least not for the last 21 years) - she needs Sothis more than ever now and oopsies, her brother finally catches on her plans -

Imo she’s less pissed (lol) than surprised, but ignores him because from the moment Billy started to show signs of Sothis awakening, Rhea became an ostrich, putting all of hopes for a good resolution of the situation on what Billy represents - people know Flayn is a Nabatean and are hunting her for her blood? Seteth’s first reaction is of course to gtfo away, and hide again, because he knows what will happen if she stays, Rhea most likely knows it too - but it’s alright, because Billy is here.

Billy, who might or not be Sothis at this point (for her) is here so there’s no need to panic !

And yet, the world really start to spiral in a narrative she knows too well, a narrative she cannot stop (but doesn’t try to stop either?) and so she fuels all of hopes on Billy and the chapter 11 revelation.

With the added twist that unlike last time - when Nabateans were alone against Nemesis’n’pals - now she has allies, so maybe Zanado won’t happen and they have more “time” than what they thought...

But no, imo Jerry’s diary really hurts Rhea because it’s not like his death deprives her of an ally, but it’s more like Jerry’s diary reveals he has never been an ally to start with -

I know Rhea already knew Jerry found her “frightening”, but I don’t think it’s because he knew she was a Nabatean, more like she knew he thought she was stupidly strong, and sometimes has to act stern’n’scary befitting her role

Jerry finding bby!Billy not “natural” and running away from Rhea could only mean, imo, to her, that Jerry found out his baby wasn’t human and ran away from her, who isn’t human either. Unlike Willy and the Adrestians of back then, the second Jerry finds out she’s not “natural” like his baby, he bails out on her.

In other words, a person she thought highly of and respected/loved/called an ally/friend would have left her in a heartbeat (lol) if he ever knew the truth about her.

Ultimately, Jerry’s diary to Rhea, in the course of the game, cements the “we cannot trust humans because they will turn on us the second they know who they are” feeling she had 1k years ago - then dropped - then believed in again - then re-dropped.

Humans are out for their parts, Nabateans cannot trust humans -> only Billy as Sothis can save them now. 

That could explain why she hyperfocuses on Billy - beyond a mere wish to see her mother again - Billy/Sothis is the only person able to thwart a cycle that starts to replay itself and ended, last time, with the Red Canyon.

As for Seteth’s reaction...

He came to trust Billy, but wonders what they are, and asks Rhea what she did to Billy, unaware - at that point, that Billy is supposed to be Sothis.

When he finds out (after Supreme Leader’s stunt) he has his anwers, as expected, Rhea really tried to rez Sothis he is annoyed, but what is done is done but moreover...

Now understands what has been going on in her head, and how desperate she is (something she later confirms) and what she wished for, Sothis to bring order back to the “wayward land”.

Seteth accepts to help Billy - and it is revealed, given how deferent he is to them in SS and follows their choices, that he actually shares Rhea’s wish, maybe not to see Sothis return, but Billy, her avatar, to guide the land. Imo, given some of his own lines, Seteth too believes in a better world guided by Sothis, but unlike Rhea, even if he despairs at the current state of Fodlan with wars and what not, he isn’t yet at that point where he gave up on humans and Nabateans and a world where Sothis isn’t here - the second she appears (or her avatar) he undestands and follows her lead, but if she’s not here? He’ll try to manage and do his best for Fodlan...

Something Rhea did, but then stopped believing (or not? 12 vessels in 1100 years isn’t the sign of her being completely desperate, despite what we’re told) and believes again.

It’s kind of fitting with the Nin dev interview from 2020, Sothis is the Progenitor God to Nabateans, and they believe she can make the world go back on the right rails again.

However, Seteth still thinks/hopes/believes that even without her, Fodlan can go round, something Rhea doesn’t anymore, at least during that specific moment the game is set in, and before Billy receives their “revelation”.

My favorite fic trope is the "JLA meets the batfam because they arrested Jason as he was undercover and now the family is coming to pick him up" one, but imagine. Jason gets arrested by the JLA while undercover, and is brought in for questioning, but before any of the batfam members even notice that he is gone, Green Arrow walks into the interrogation room.

"It's okay, Superman, you can let him go."

"Green Arrow, Red Hood is a wanted criminal on the JLA:s most wanted list-"

"What? No, no he isn't, that's just Jason."

Superman stares. Jason stares too.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me, that's just Jason, my son-in-law. You can let him go."

"...your son-in-law is the Red Hood?"

"No? Jason's not the Red Hood, he is just dressed as the Red Hood. He's in a mercenary group with my son, he does that. It's pretty easy to dress up as someone who doesn't show their face for a job. Jason's no Red Hood, let me tell you that. Or I guess I don't have to tell you that, since you've already arrested him."

Jason's not really sure if he wants to murder Oliver or not.

Superman stares. Oliver raises a brow.

"So? Can I have him back, please, we have a family dinner today and we're already a bit late."

"...sure."

Jason gets let out. Oliver throws an arm around his shoulders as they walk towards the zeta tubes.

"I hate you, Queen."

"You're welcome, kiddo."

JLA does leave Jason alone after that, though, because every time they see him outside of Gotham, they just go "oh that's just Jason dressed up as the Red Hood again, move on" and Jason doesn't know if he should be annoyed or not. It does make his work easier, but at the same time, it somehow feels like an insult.

Don't mind me just compiling a bunch of unfinished vent drafts into a finalized product ready for purchase~

It's crazy how for the first half, even maybe like 2/3rds of 2023 I felt amazing overall, the novelty of being out of horrible, multiple years-long situation and into a, realistically just kinda average situation, felt so great that it completely carried me emotionally for nearly a year. But ever since around August/September I've kinda slowly been receding back into that same depressive state I was before, my life has stagnated once again, I've traded one set of issues for a completely different, less familiar set, and I don't have any real clear solution for any of those problems that are within reach. Don't get me wrong I'm at the very least not trying to drown myself once per week yet, but I don't think that should really be the baseline of an acceptable quality of life.

I have a job I've very quickly come to hate that's also kind of consumed my life up until very recently, where I've had enough time off to realize that I've made virtually no progress in the last year outside of merely having a job. I've lost a sizable number of friends, in part due to my coming out as trans, and partly due to just a longterm buildup of disillusionment with those around me that just finally reached a breaking point, and some of the few still left in my life I don't particularly want to keep in my life much longer either, and after going several years socially isolating myself, I don't remember how to make new friends, even though I have several avenues to very easily do so if I actually put forth the effort. I likely won't be able to make any progress transitioning for quite a long time, despite deciding now would be the best time to come out for some reason, I still live with my father, and while I've spent months searching for a place to move out to, the renting market is abysmal and most of my prior options for roommates are either no longer an option, or I'm not particularly comfortable living with them now, and despite having a job that provides pretty good insurance, I am still undiagnosed for a million different potential mental illnesses that I should really probably be medicated for because I'm both too stupid and too lazy to figure out how to switch off my parents' insurance onto my job's, and I'm too afraid of hospitals after going probably close to 10 years without going to any doctor, outside of 1 visit to the optometrist 2 years ago after my old glasses finally broke. And I don't even really have much of a reason to change insurance plans right now when with each passing week I'm more heavily considering just quitting my current job, even though I realistically don't have any better options in my area.

So yea anyways life blows I miss my old terrorist friends (dear Tumblr mods; they were not real terrorists, they were merely g*y people on the internet, please do not nuke me thank you). In good news tho someone posted a map of informed consent clinics throughout the US so now I know there's one like 2 hours away from me, and while I'm still probably too afraid to actually go inside one, and also doubt I'd be able to literally just walk in and say "1 girl medicine plz :3" with any success at all, still good to know. I am so on the verge of wasting all of my savings on HRT without the assistance of insurance all for the bit >:). Also started doing 3D modelling again so like that's fun, didn't do that for a long time but now I have both the time and motivation and now I'm gonna make 5 million Veemon models and nothing else I hope Blender Guru dies fuck that guy.

Heroes & Villains The DC Animated Universe - Paper Cut-Out Portraits and Profiles

Inque

Not much is known of the origins of the shapeshifting mercenary and saboteur known as Inque.  How she came to possess her metahuman abilities remains unknown.  Her form is composed of a dark, ink-like substance that is entirely malleable.  This allowed her to alter her shape at will, forms her limbs into sharpened weapons, slip easily through cracks and slide across surfaces at great speeds.  Her one vulnerability appeared to be water, which caused her to become defuse and lose her ability to maintain structural integrity.  Although water was not lethal for Inque and she has been able to re-manifest her form once dried.

Inque was hired by Derrick Powers during a time in which Wayne/Powers was competing with Foxteca over a highly lucrative governmental contract.  Powers tasked Inque with sabotaging Foxteca facilities so to ensure his company landed the contract.  Bruce Wayne investigated the matter and assigned Batman (Terry McGinnis) to stand guard over the additional Foxteca plants in the case that the saboteur were to strike again.  This indeed occurred yet Batman was unprepared for an altercation with someone as formidable as Inque and she easily evaded capture in their initial altercation.   

Learning that Batman was once more meddling in his affairs, Derrick Powers tasked Inque with assassinating him and any accomplice he might be working with.  Sneaking into the Batmobile, Inque accompanied Batman back to the Batcave before attacking him.  Transforming into a torrent of ink, she nearly succeeded in suffocating Batman but was stopped by Bruce Wayne (who used an old Gray Ghost costume to hide his identity).  Bruce ultimately utilized Mr. Freeze’s freeze gun to incapacitate Inque whereupon she was delivered to the authorities.  Without the services of his saboteur, Powers lost out on the contract to Foxteca.  

Inque would return on subsequent occasions to battle Batman.  Some time thereafter, the mutagenic substance that bestowed Inque her abilities began to break down making it difficult to maintain a physical form.  She turned to her estranged daughter, Deanna Clay, for aid.  She had Deanna steal a mutagenic compound from Gotham Genetics that could stabilize her condition.  Deanna went through with this, but cut the compound with a solvent as part of a plan to kill her mother and pilfer her savings.  Inque discovered her daughter’s betrayal too late. Starting to dissolve, she attacked Deanna yet Batman arrived in time to save her. Together they watched Inque seemingly melt into nothingness. 

Actress Shannon Kenny provided the voice for the villain with Inque first appearing in the third episode of the first season of Batman Beyond, ‘Black Out.’

I only passed all the exams because no one was dumb enough to actually want to be a field nurse out with some mercenary program. They needed sacrifices, and it seemed like you were a touch too naive to care. You spilled rubbing alcohol all over him the first time you were fussing over his bruises - he isn't even sure why you'd even pull out antiseptic, but he is glad you weren't stitching any wounds at the moment. He just wanted to check why suddenly half of his squad was going to the medbay like it's a fucking church on Sunday, but it seemed like almost all of his boys got a bad case of pussy fever. You would bend over to get some bandages out of a small cabinet, and Konig could almost feel his cock suddenly getting a rush, too. God, you're adorable. And utterly fucking dumb. He surely has to report you. Send you back to the training, if not ban you from ever trying to be a nurse again - but somehow, he looks at the way you fumble over his small bruise, as you whimper and look at him like he is the most important injured guy in the world, and he simply can't fight the urge to put you on his lap and ask, what the princess wants. He has other nurses, after all - they're all as competent as someone in the mercenary forces can be. Konig transfers you to more of an office duty because it's easier to hide your fuck-ups when he can just assign some poor new recruit to do your job for you. All to keep your pretty bouncy ass in his line of view for longer. All for him to hold your waist and let you trash in his hold like a newborn deer until you finally get tired and let him plant wet kisses all over your neck and shoulders until he could bend you over a table and get his hands in your tight as fuck uniform pants. You would never keep in one place, would always accidentally drop yourself fully on his cock, let it settle into your tummy - you'd try to get out of his grasp and would only throw your back at him, grinding on his cock against your g-spot. Konig isn't an expert on handling girls, but it's almost like you're doing everything on your own. He would kiss your sore cunt better, let you whimper, and tug on his mask as he promises to marry you the second he is done with his mission.
