au time.... heh

the name for this au has gone through a lot. the fic series on ao3 (which you can find here, by the way. there's currently four whole oneshots!) was called tinged memory until today, but i decided to change it because it just doesn't fit very well anymore from when i first started. i also considered calling this au oblivion or hodgepodge, and i also considered calling it absurdism up until about.... 20 minutes ago. but i settled on traumatropism, which is growth or involuntary movement of a plant as a result of injury. the name makes more sense when you're me

these designs are from the pre-space arc, which i've been calling "boyscout days" in my head. oh my babies. so unaware.... so joyous... little did they know about. the horrors.

are you aware of the existence of danny todd bc ngl sometimes he keeps me awake at night. he existed for all of 5 minutes and yet I find myself haunted by him upon occasion

OH MY GOD YEAH!! Hated basically everything about how BTAC treated Jason but I love Danny. My lore? Cathy refuses to have kids because she knows that her illness is genetic and she doesn't want to risk it. Hence my version of the Todd's being open marriage/poly/open to surrogates. I am a Shiva is Jason's mom enjoyer which opens up the fun little possibility that DANNY was actually Sheila's son who's been living in Gotham, working at a hole in the wall bar at night and working at a mechanic shop that's probably a front for the mob during the day.

There's the possibility that they're both Sheila's but Danny was older than Jason, so he would have had a different dad entirely because I don't really see Willis staying in a relationship with her very long. The other option is that Danny is Willis's son, and his mother is either a complete stranger, or it's one of the women I've decided are involved in this polycule situation (Natalia, Talia, or DANNY is the Shiva baby. Gilda Dent is also an option, TwowillCatGilda is so real to me you guys don't even understand.)

There are probably options I haven't even thought about. And of course the wildcard pick of "person who COULD have been in Willis's phone book" which could be just about anyone. Or from the Sheila angle: Who could a globetrotting con woman have met in her travels running from the law? Limitless possibilities, lots of fun to be had. But no matter who his parents are it's very important to me that he's Just Some Guy. Working his 9-5, living in his one bedroom apartment with an ugly little dog, surviving in crime Alley like everyone else.

I noticed in one of the scenes in the school there was a trans flag almost perfectly over the top of Leo. I asked some of my other friends who watched it if they saw it to, and they did!

I’m definitely going to draw some cute art of Leo an April together.

i am sooo excited for the new tales of the tmnt show because all four of the boys are voiced by actual teenagers!! sometimes it’s hard for me to remember that the turtles in other versions are just kids because they’ve always been voiced by adults. but since we’re gonna be hearing the most voice-cracking, embarrassing little teenage voices coming out of their mouths, it’ll be so great to remember these are literal BABIES witnessing the Horrors. and i can’t wait.
