Book Blurb:
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Ava Reid comes a “masterful reimagining” (Publishers Weekly) of Lady Macbeth, Shakespeare’s most famous villainess, giving her a voice, a past, and a power that transforms the story men have written for her.
“Lady Macbeth doesn’t retell Shakespeare so much as slice cleanly through it, revealing what was hidden beneath. I couldn't look away.”—Alix E. Harrow, New York Times bestselling author of Starling House The Lady knows the stories: how her eyes induce madness in men. The Lady knows she will be wed to the Scottish brute, who does not leave his warrior ways behind when he comes to the marriage bed. The Lady knows his hostile, suspicious court will be a game of strategy, requiring all of her wiles and hidden witchcraft to survive.
But the Lady does not know her husband has occult secrets of his own. She does not know that prophecy girds him like armor. She does not know that her magic is greater and more dangerous, and that it will threaten the order of the world.
She does not know this yet. But she will.
Review:
A new take on Macbeth... but the story is about Lady Macbeth and her journey as witch, bride, and villain. Ever since she was born she has been called witch, daughter of hagseeds... and the bastard child. Known for her unearthly beauty, said to entice and capture men, and for her mysterious gifts.... now she has been sold off to marriage in a strange land to a Scottish brute who is known for being a warrior and relentless both in the field and when it comes to the marriage bed. The Lady knows that his court is hostile and that to survive she must use all her cleverness... but every move will cost her and she must keep her witchcraft hidden if she wants to survive. But she can only endure so much before she snaps... and with a husband who is as brutish as he is ambitious, a court who is out for her, and the only solace she finds is in a rival prince who is somehow more monstrous yet kinder than her own husband.... the Lady must find a way to free herself before it is too late and she finds herself on the end of her husband's obsession with witches and prophecy... and find herself his newest victim. I have always enjoyed the Macbeth story and this was such a unique twist and take and I absolutely adored it. I loved that Ava Reid gave a voice to Lady Macbeth, I loved that she made her so much more. This was a really delightful read and the ending just felt perfect. I gritted my teeth while reading this book and felt the anger and vengeance that Lady Macbeth had been stewing in, I loved her endurance and strength. This is just a gorgeous take on a classic and one I would absolutely recommend for fans of the original or of anyone who enjoys female rage stories because rage she did and righteously so.

Star Wars Visions - Journey to the Dark Head Thoughts and Analysis
"I'm sorry. This was a waste of time. You were right. No matter what we do, it won't end. There's no way to stop this war. And even if we did, it doesn't matter. Another would just arise." Ara (아라)
"Nothing is fixed. Light and dark will always coexist. And if nothing is set in stone, that means there will always be hope. We are always caught in the tide of uncertainty, but the next wave carries as much hope as it does despair. Ara, I actually needed this mission. And I think you did too." Toul (토울)
Tumblr media
Journey to the Dark Head is really special to me. Seeing my culture represented in Star Wars warms my heart. As a Korean-American, it's special to see Korean voice actors as the main dub and talent in Star Wars (another reason why I'm so excited and hyped to see the Acolyte!). Alongside Ninth Jedi, I hope this short gets its own show (the team in Studio Mir's Radio Talk even mentions how they have many ideas for the universe of Journey to the Dark Head!). This is my dedicated piece for Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month (I know this is very late but a lot was going on preventing me from completing this earlier).
The focus setting of the short is the world of Dolgarak, a world home to two giant statues known as the Statues of prophecy, during the Old Republic Era (a reminder that Visions is non-Canon but it seems like it took place during this Era). The Hanbok-inspired outfits in the opening are amazing. We see a group of kids from a community of Force Oracles, beings who read prophecies when the stones of the temple experienced rainfall, stepping into the temple. Ara sees a prophecy as the rain drops on the rocks: Three figures in a duel. An Interpreter is there to record the prophecies into the record...a practice that Ara questions after seeing a prophecy said to take place in the future. She wants to deliver their information to the Jedi at which the Interpretator points out that they're not Jedi. Star Wars has delved into how visions can often be misleading despite having truth in them. Something which the Interpreter seems to be aware of than Ara at the moment. The theme of war as a cycle and how they come and go. The community keeps records of conflicts and prophecies so they can be read...and hopefully from my interpretation of the goal to prevent the cycle from repeating by learning about them. However, the idealist Ara just can't believe that their life is just a part of a never-ending cycle. Then she wonders...could the war end by cutting off the Dark Head?
(Fun Fact: my blog's banner is taken from the Hangul-inspired language shown in this short!)
"There is much you don't understand. War and conflict are constants. They are both built on the sands of time, which will continue to ebb and flow for all eternity. And their record remains on these stones. We read and keep their record." Interpreter
Tumblr media
As the short transitions to the modern day, we see a hopeful pilot, Ara, and a disillusioned Jedi, Toul. Ara still believes that by cutting off the Dark Head, the war will finally turn against the Sith as she appeals to two members of the Jedi Council. One Jedi Master senses that approving the mission is the right course of action despite another Master's low opinion of this theory. With Toul being sent to go with Ara, the Master senses how it's destiny for him.
We see Toul trying to mediate as he remembers the day his Master was killed. Bichan (비찬), the Sith Lord with a Korean mask-influenced helmet and a Lightsaber with a chain, seeks to turn Toul into his apprentice after seeing the rage in him. Bichan left behind a "parting" gift in the form of a scar. Interestingly, visually Bichan shares similar facial similarities with Ara. The creators and team behind the show confirmed that he and Ara are the same species native to Dolgarak. The markings are based on the Haechi.
Toul when awoken displays a dark view of the point of mediating when the Sith will come for them anyway to kill them. The fear has taken hold of him as he doesn't have much to hope for. When the two finally meet...to say their respect for each other is low would be an understatement. Ara doesn't view Toul as what she imagines a Jedi to be (calling him a "kid" even though they're very likely around the same age but Ara is actually slightly taller than him) and even states how he should at least pretend to be one. Vice versa, Toul believes Ara's idea to be a foolish endeavor. As the two make a quick pit stop at an Asteroid City's Black Market, Ara buys supplies for their mission (I love how the team said they were able to keep the Goolbi-looking bombs in despite the runtime)...however as Toul spots a group passing by, he spots Bichan who muses something familiar nearby.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once they reach Dolgarak, they're attacked by Bichan who is after the Statues of prophecy as well. As the two struggle to both survive in a tense high-speed sequence, Bichan taunts Toul about the Jedi sending Toul alone to be confronted by him. The teamwork and trust Ara and Toul display to each other despite their troubles with one another shows what they truly think of each other underneath. The action in this sequence is Studio Mir at their best: the exaggerated movements in the Lightsaber duel, the launching of the bombs, and the frantic pace of the camera. All the while, Bichan speaks to how futile their attempts to stop the Sith are with the Statues revealing the interconnecting nature between the Light and Dark Sides of the Force.
A major theme in this short is the cycle of Star Wars. We all know the usual story: Jedi vs Sith. A cycle between the two brings chaos and death across the galaxy. It's a seemingly never-ending conflict as the representation between the Light and Dark Sides of the Force clash. Ara's drive is the belief that destroying the Dark Head would finally end this seemingly eternal cycle. However, just as she's finally about to bring an end, both heads illuminate both light and dark. The Light and Dark Sides of the Force, for better or worse, are forever interconnected. With this realization, she sees Bichan incapacitating Toul with his chain...and realizing she's the third figure in the vision. Not wasting a moment after realizing this, she redirects her bombs to Bichan who uses the Force to send them into the air...which Ara activates them to clear the skies. All the while, Toul realizes why the Master sent him there as his mental Light Side self smiles at his Dark Side self. He realizes there is nothing to be scared and he has to find peace to overcome the darkness inside him. With the light from the bombs blinding Bichan, Toul uses this chance to kill Bichan. I think as Toul fell from the Statues, he made peace himself with a possible death...until Ara calls out and in a beautifully animated sequence saves him as the two parachuted down.
For a while, after they landed safely back at the seemingly abandoned temple, Ara gives into despair and cynicism much like the viewpoints of Kreia and Baylan Sköll about the pointlessness of trying to stop the darkness. However, Toul makes a beautiful point against such despair and cynicism, showcasing his redeveloped idealism and hope. Even if the cycle is seemingly destined to carry on forever, the future is uncertain, and there is always a chance to challenge destiny. Even if the cycle continues again, there will be even more beings with the spark of hope to carry that on. As Snoke once said in The Last Jedi,
"Darkness rises, and light to meet it." Snoke
Toul points out how they both needed this mission to finally see that and Ara has a spark of genuine hope come back as she decides to continue the fight with Toul...with a little banter about Ara's crashed ship with whose fault it was. One can imagine how far their friendship will go in their fights against the Sith.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A story about two beings trying to find hope in a seemingly never-ending conflict. It's fascinating to explore the side where it's acknowledged how the cycle of Star Wars can wear down on people. Yet we see why they should never stop fighting for what's right and good despite the possibility of the cycle restarting again.
As this short ends, I get so much happiness seeing a story ripe with potential for more. I really wish we get to see a show following Ara and Toul. Even the creators stated that they had a lot of ideas that could be used in a show based on the short. Ideas such as diving more into the pasts and histories of Ara, Toul, Dolgarak, and even Bichan. Give us that 13-episode series Lucasfilm! Otherwise, this was the best short for me in Visions S2.
Note: The score in this short by Lee Byung Hoon was great! Korean traditional instruments were used in the score which made this short stand out among the other Vision scores.
Tumblr media
"You know, we make a pretty good team." Ara
"Let's get back to continue this fight. But we're gonna need a new ship, since you kind of crashed our last one, pilot." Taul
"Uh, what? Are you serious? Well, I wasn't the one who crashed the speeder. That's on you, Jedi. So, I'd say we're even." Ara
"Are you kidding? Crashing a ship is so much worse." Taul
"Oh, for what it's worth, you've definitely destroyed any illusions I had about the mighty Jedi." Ara

DOOKU HAS HAD TO GRIEVE the loss of himself to the DARK SIDE ever since he was a CHILD. When Dooku was naught but a young PADAWAN LEARNER struggling to find his footing amidst the shadow of MASTER YODA, his childhood best friend SIFO-DYAS confided in him regarding the TERRIBLE FATE that he foresaw in Dooku’s future.
Sifo-Dyas’s haunted hues flickered up towards his brother in all but blood, resembling in that moment not a youth just beginning to blossom into his full potential — but rather, an ancient oracle of eldritch design. Eternal GRIEF was etched into the boy’s features, his shoulders sagging under the weight of horrible ANGUISH. The burden of witnessing the future as if it has already come to pass was a mighty burden to bear indeed, Dooku mused, his heart clenching at the thought of Sifo-Dyas suffering such a dreadful experience. Intimate knowledge of history yet to be made is not for the faint of heart, and to Dooku, Sifo-Dyas has proven his bravery time and time again through enduring this TRIAL BY FIRE every single day. ⠀⠀Dooku leaned forward, ENTRANCED by the dangerous promise of PROPHECY. “Tell me,” he implored, his voice as soft as the breeze that presently ruffles his hair and the leaves of the Great Tree. “What is it that troubles you?” Unblinking, Sifo-Dyas gazed upon him. The silence stretched on for an ETERNITY, and Dooku found himself growing increasingly unsettled. ⠀Finally, Sifo-Dyas spoke. “Dooku,” Even the manner in which his name was uttered was a CONDEMNATION. Dooku cannot help but flinch, rendered privy as he was to the peculiar sensation of a thousand knives piercing his heart at once. “You are going to be terrible.” Dooku’s heart dropped into his stomach, dragged down by the merciless DREAD which now settled within his bones. Despite his best efforts to resist the allure of foresight, Dooku was nevertheless MESMERIZED by Sifo-Dyas’s whispers of the future. He listened to his friend with wide eyes and parted lips, a mighty HURRICANE of emotions gaining strength with each word spoken. BOYHOOD is so very peculiar when one is doomed to become a MONSTER. —⠀⠀A MEMORY FOREVER ETCHED WITHIN DOOKU’S TORTURED MIND.
ALTHOUGH SUCH MORBID observations were kept entirely to himself and never divulged to his best friend, it was a commonplace tragedy for Sifo-Dyas to meet Dooku’s hazel hues — and witness instead DARTH TYRANUS glaring back at him from the annuls of a future unwritten.
⠀⠀DOOKU, MEANWHILE, BEGAN TO discover the DANGERS that lurked within PROPHECY. DEVASTATED by this mighty blow upon his soul, he sought some semblance of deceptive comfort in grieving preemptively what could have been. Sifo-Dyas’s condemnation lingered beneath the surface of the façade donned by the finest swordsman to ever grace the ranks of the Jedi Order, consuming him from within as he sought the comfort of vehement DENIAL amidst his day to day endeavors. Dooku operated under the DEADLY ASSUMPTION that he would be able to OUTSMART THE DARKNESS when the Sith sought to approach him at last, erroneously believing that he was capable of unlocking their knowledge without succumbing to the darkness himself.
⠀⠀However, the SITH DEAL IN ABSOLUTES. One cannot learn their ways without embracing such practices in their ENTIRETY, for the Sith are EXPERTS at bringing new souls into their ranks. Despite the prior knowledge that Dooku possessed regarding his fall, he remained OBLIVIOUS while Sidious sunk poison-soaked claws into his troubled heart and transformed him into the grotesque creature called DARTH TYRANUS. Only upon the demise of MASTER YADDLE did Dooku realize that Sidious succeeded in his sinister quest for CORRUPTION; however, IT WAS TOO LATE. Dooku was FOREVER TRAPPED within the dictatorial grasp of darkness, and there was no escape. Sifo-Dyas’s prophecy came true.

I’ve come to accept that anytime I start changing too much of the world, my first instinct is to just make a new master post rather than try to update and rearrange everything XD
Anyway, welcome to the World of Strelles! An ambitious rewrite project where I aim to reach to at least The Last Hope! All the sapient species are more advanced than in canon, humans don’t exist, there is magic; a lot of conlangs and of course, queer characters. Thirty six years of age. She was only twenty years overdue in fulfilling her dream, that of leaving Ishgard to travel to other corners of the realm. She had always had this moment in her mind’s eye, when she’d finally be free to pursue her studies abroad. In this case, at the Arcanist’s Guild in Limsa Lominsa. She just never imagined that the price of that goal would be her exile from her homelands. She looked up at the tall spires of Limsa Lominsa, breathed deep the scent of ocean shore, feeling a nervous grin creep across her face, and could not help but feel that this was all a very big mistake. One she’d be paying for for the rest of her life.

Character concept: Viera male named one of the following-
Pilot Lightingway Viera Maleway Male Pilotway Pilot Adventureway Anyway you get the gist. It’s a Loporrit piloting a very convincing Viera mechsuit. They don’t fool -anybody-, mind, as they don’t bother to filter their voice and the Viera, well, behaves like a piloted mech and not at all natural. Other loporrits who are interacting with the population of Etheirys in a perfectly normal manner find our little mech pilot to be bizarre by even their pretty broad standards, but our friend here -insists- that this is, in fact, the best way to interact with the peoples of the world. When they eat, they make all the normal motions of eating that you would expect from a Viera, but at the last moment instead of biting the pilot just hops up a bit and grabs whatever it is through the mouth and pulls it down to their little piloting chamber. They try not to stick their head up so far that they can be seen, so people just see a little Loporrit hand reach up from the back of the throat, though sometimes, they’ll come up for really big food to wrestle it down. The Viera unhinges their jaw for this. It looks... probably pretty unsettling, but not necessarily in a horror show kind of way. Just in a ‘that is really weird do you know that?’ kind of way. For drinking, they just stick a straw up and out of the mouth. To non-Loporrits they insist they are a perfectly normal adventurer who is just here to help in any way possible! Please be patient while they ask a lot of questions, they need to make sure they have all of the information they need in order to help out. Oh, by the way, do you have enough carrots? They brought enough for everyone, it’s in their backpack.

I didn’t know.
I’m so, so sorry, I didn’t know.
I didn’t know that you couldn’t tell me everything
Because you were drowning deep in our star
Buried under duty, burdened by history
I didn’t understand that your blessing was meant as protection, not burden
I didn’t understand these visions were not prophecy, but history
That we might learn
I didn’t know that your tests were not just for the sake of our star, Not just for our future, But for all possible futures
I did not know the magnitude of the sacrifice that you made For us
I don’t know that I can condone all that you did, But I understand it I don’t know that I can forgive everything you’ve done, But I accept it I don’t know what to say to you now.
I wish … we’d had more time.
But we’ve only this moment
”Thank you for believing in me... even when I did not always believe in myself.”
“How could I not, my brave little spark? Your light shone so bright, long before we ever knew one another.”
“…I will remember you, Venat.”
“I know, little Sette. I know, and… thank you.
“But now it’s time for both of us to move on.”

The Art of Less: How Simplicity Amplifies Your Message
In a world drowning in verbose prose and information overload, the whisper of simplicity cuts through the noise like a hot knife through butter. Welcome to the counterintuitive realm of concise writing, where less truly is more, and brevity reigns supreme. Buckle up, wordsmiths and readers alike, as we embark on a journey to unravel the paradoxical power of simplicity in communication.
The Mighty Miniature: Brevity's Secret Weapon
Imagine, if you will, a literary sumo wrestler and a nimble haiku master stepping into the ring. Who would you bet on? While the sumo's bulk might seem impressive, it's the haiku's lean precision that often delivers the knockout punch. Take Hemingway's legendary six-word story: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." In just six words, he paints a novel's worth of emotion and intrigue. It's like the literary equivalent of a neutron star – small in size, but mind-bogglingly dense in impact.
But why does brevity pack such a punch? It's simple, really. (See what I did there?) Our brains are wired for efficiency. When faced with a wall of text, our cognitive gears start grinding. But a concise message? It slips into our minds like a well-oiled key into a lock, opening doors of understanding with minimal effort.
Clarity: The Unsung Hero of Communication
Now, let's play a game of "Spot the Jargon." In a world where "synergistic paradigm shifts" and "holistic ecosystem approaches" run rampant, clarity stands out like a beacon in a fog of confusion. George Orwell, that champion of plain speak, would be rolling in his grave at the state of some modern writing. His essay "Politics and the English Language" reads like a prophecy, warning against the perils of muddled language.
But fear not, dear reader! The path to clarity is paved with simple words and straightforward structures. It's like decluttering your linguistic living space – suddenly, everything becomes easier to find and use. And in this age of global communication, where your words might be translated into a dozen languages before breakfast, clarity isn't just nice to have – it's essential.
The Toolbox of Conciseness: More Than Just a Sharp Pencil
So, how do we achieve this holy grail of concise, clear writing? It's not about wielding a machete to hack away at your prose indiscriminately. Think of it more as precision surgery, where every incision is made with purpose.
Embrace the active voice: It's not just for action movies. "The report was written by me" becomes "I wrote the report." Boom! Instant dynamism.
Banish redundancy: It's like going on a word diet. "Absolutely essential"? Just "essential" will do, thank you very much.
Organize logically: Think of your writing as a treasure map. You wouldn't start at X marks the spot, would you?
In the realm of technical writing, bullet points and numbered lists are your best friends. They're like the Marie Kondo of the writing world, tidying up your ideas into neat, accessible packages.
Simplicity: The Secret Sauce of Engagement
Now, you might be thinking, "But doesn't simple writing lack sophistication?" Au contraire, mon ami! Simplicity is the sophisticated choice. It's like the little black dress of writing – timeless, versatile, and always in style.
Consider the world of social media, where attention spans are shorter than a goldfish's memory. Here, simplicity isn't just preferred – it's essential. A tweet, limited to 280 characters, can spark a revolution. A concise blog post can go viral, reaching millions. It's not about dumbing down; it's about smartening up your communication.
The Challenge: Rethinking Our Relationship with Words
As we wrap up our foray into the world of concise writing, let's ponder a question: In our quest for impressive prose, have we lost sight of our true goal – effective communication?
It's time to challenge our assumptions about what constitutes good writing. Perhaps the most profound ideas don't need verbal gymnastics to make an impact. Maybe, just maybe, the clearest window into our thoughts is one unobscured by unnecessary words.
So, dear reader, I leave you with this challenge: In your next piece of writing, be it an email, a report, or the next Great American Novel, channel your inner Hemingway. Embrace the power of simplicity. Remember, in the grand buffet of communication, sometimes the most satisfying meal is a perfectly crafted amuse-bouche.
After all, why use a thousand words when a handful will do?

No more America
It's going to kind of shocking that God will really undo American influence wherever it went, save for a remnant and that remnant's largely Christian. If he can undo most of America's influence in the Philippines, he can also do it anywhere else. American music will no longer be played on the radio and streamed by people, American programmes will no longer be watched, American books will no longer be read, etc.
Nobody's going to remember America anymore, which is what Celestial said on her blog The Master's Voice. Even the Handmaid of the Most High agreed with her on 444Prophecy, so it seems God will find a way to undermine and undo American influence as most of it's no good. While mass entertainment would still be around, but with both Russia and China becoming superpowers then it will come from these two plus every other country's own.
I even prayed to God to have Britain, Ireland and Canada join Russia in the future, so if they do they will all become Russian protectorates (which is Celestial's wording). One possible side effect is that future Canadians, Irish and Britons would remember the Russian version of Winnie the Pooh more. The one where Winnie the Pooh is brown, not a fiery yellow in both the AA Milne and Disney versions. Soyuzmultfilm put out its own Pooh series, but where the characters look and sound different.
This would be the Winnie the Pooh that these people will come to know and love, despite being really old by the time it ever gets streamed by Canadian, British and Irish children. Though one thing that fascinates me is the extent to which Canada will be influenced by Russia when it becomes a Russian protectorate at all, albeit one with implications for the Arctic Circle. Not to mention Russia will even give Alaska to Canada.
Because America wouldn't just disappear forever, but before that it'll become a Russian colony Canada would get off more easily as a protectorate. But since the lines between colony and protectorate get blurred in practise, so there's no doubting that Canada could get Russified in the future when this happens. Less than what America will be getting, but more than what it got before. Canadians would have to learn Russian too.
One other prophecy Celestial had is that she foreboded white Americans will find themselves enslaved by the Russians and other Europeans, that no sooner or later they'll be made to do backbreaking and tedious jobs. That Americans will be divided and categorised by gender, looks and ability to handle manual labour, as well as getting rounded up is kind of horrifying. But she also said that Russia will do the things America did onto others.
Nuclear bombing, rape, unlawful imprisonment, so on and so forth. A kind of terrible role reversal of sorts where white Americans find themselves enslaved and sent to work elsewhere, but Africans live and travel freely. Business as usual for the latter. A horrible end for Mystery Babylon/America, so to speak.

A reminder of this ends up on the wrong side of Tumblr: I don't 'debate' or argue on the internet! If you try me, you will be arguing with the wall, because I won't be here for you to 'debate' with.
God bless you, because we all really need some blessings in these times.

here's her channel btw
She's the one who prophecized TD Jakes being exposed as a homosexual and a pedo one year ago. She called out TB Joshua as a satanist months before he was exposed as a sex pest by the BBC documentary
She also said Beyoncé will have an impressive fall out, and that many other sell out preachers will have sudden death (TB Joshua was just the beginning)
I am listening to a prophetess podcast and she just said "you expected a hot girl summer, yet here you are with hot men nephilim" lmaooooooo

𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥 (𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐦)
✰ 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: Wanda Maximoff x variant!teen!daughter!Reader
✰ 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: in your original reality, you'd lost your mom. your only saving grace was that the multiverse was real, and there was a reality out there where you and your mom were safe and happy, and you were going to find that reality, no matter what it takes.
✰ 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Dr Strange Multiverse of Madness spoilers, reality shifting but not really, M.O.M. fix it fic, fluff and angst with a happy ending, sorta permashifting, mentions of miscarriage, foster care, me making up a legend/prophecy, murder,
✰ 𝐚/𝐧: thank you for reading! there is a name mentioned, Caelestia, but that is not the reader's name! it's her 'witch' name, like Wanda's with name is the Scarlet Witch, if that makes sense!
to who ever reads this: don't bother asking for a part two, you won't get it. i am the owner of this fic, and this blog, and I, and only I, will decided what fic gets a part two and when. respect me and my wishes or get off my blog. thanks!
don't forget to read and reblog, and i do not give permission for my works to be posted anywhere other than tumblr. thank you.
Tumblr media
you looked down at your notebook that held your shifting script. you were slowly losing hope. you'd tried every night for the past 8 months to shift, and you'd been unsuccessful, but you knew you couldn't give up. you needed your mom back, and you were going to get to her, no matter what.
"one more try," you thought to yourself, putting the book down and sliding in bed. you turned on your favourite shifting subliminal, and closed your eyes, trying to focus your breathing, and disconnect from your reality. before you could, however, a colossal boom echoed through your basement apartment, a bright blue light shocking you awake.
you jolted up, looking up at the star shaped portal hole that had opened in your bedroom, a young girl with short brownish black hair wearing a jean jacket with the american flag on it, standing in the middle.
"what the-" you said, sitting bolt upright in bed. "who-who are-" you stuttered, but the girl stepped out of the blue portal and approached you.
"are you Y/N Maximoff?" she asked, and you nodded, too in shock to use your voice. "good. you need to come with me." she said, walking back towards the portal.
you remained on your bed, unable to move. when the other girl realized you weren't moving, she turned to face you. she sighed, seeing you utterly confused. "look," she reasoned. "come with me or don't. i can't make you do anything, but if you don't come with me it's only a matter of time before she comes here." she said, and hearing the desperation in your voice, you stood up, and walked to stand beside her, before following her through the star shaped portal.
your stomach churned as you stepped through the portal, and into what looked like Kamar Taj. the young girl followed you through, and with a loud noise, the portal shut behind her.
"where am i?" you asked, apprehensively.
the girl, who was wearing a jean jacket with what looked like an american flag painted on it, looked at you confused. "Kamar Taj?" she said, but it sounded more like a question. "is there a Kamar Taj in your universe?" she asked.
you nodded. "well, yeah, but it's been long destroyed. where am i?" you asked again, and looked around you. "wait, did you say 'your universe?'" you asked. "am i in a d-"
"different universe? yeah." a deeper voice echoed from behind you, a voice that you remembered.
"Strange?" you said and flipped around, anger growing in your stomach.
"Maximoff. it seems that you know who I am. that makes things considerably easier."
"yeah, we do," you snapped at him, glaring him down, and trying to keep your powers under control. you hadn't quite mastered control yet. you and your mom were working on it until the incident. "you killed my mother." you growled, before remembering that this was a different universe, so different Strange. "or, my universes you killed her."
Strange sighed, looking down. he squeezed his eyes shut, before looking back up at him. "look, kid." he said. "i don't know what happened in your universe, or what I did in that universe, but in this universe, your mother is alive, and well." he said, and you felt your anger disappear instantly.
this was your chance. this was your chance to see your mom again, to live the life the both of you deserve, the life that was ripped from your hands by the man standing in front of you.
"w-what?" you asked, tears welling up in your eyes. "she's alive? can-can i see her?" you stuttered, eyes flicking between the teen and Strange.
"she's on her way," Strange said, but you could sense the hesitation. there was something he wasn't telling you, something important.
you crossed your arms, your eyebrows raising. "what aren't you telling me?" you asked, and Strange cleared his throat, looking down once more.
before either you or Strange could speak again, Wong entered, and finished Strange's sentence for him.
"she's coming here to kill America." Wong stated.
you furrowed your brow, confused. America? your mom was trying to kill the entire continent? while that made sense to you (she'd never fully adjusted to America), it also didn't. your mom wasn't that stupid.
"who's-" you started, before the teen behind you interrupted.
"I'm America."
oh. America is a girl.
'oh shit,' you thought to yourself. 'mama's trying to kill a kid.'
"Wh-" you began to say, but she cut you off.
"she's trying to kill me and take my powers."
you flipped to look at America.
"why? she has her own powers, right? like from HYDRA, from Strucker? powers that look like this?" you said and lifted your hand, forming a small energy ball with your powers.
America's eyes widened, fear forming on her face. "y-yeah, just like that."
you made the energy ball disappear, and dropped your hand. from the look on America's face, she'd clearly had an experience with witches that didn't go well.
"she wants to take America's powers to reunite with her children."
"children?" you interrupted.
"Billy and Tommy," Wong said.
"she had the twins?" you asked, tears rimming in your eyes once more.
"did she not..." Strange asked, but not finishing his question.
you shook your head, blinking rapidly, and swallowing, trying to not cry. "no. she didn't. because you killed her." you said, trying to keep the venom out of your voice, knowing the Strange in front of you didn't take your mom's life. "she was pregnant, with twins. two boys." you said, sniffling as your emotions tried to overflow.
"their names were going to be Billy and Tommy." you whispered, thinking of your younger siblings you only held once, when they were cold and lifeless, and so so small. "and then you killed her. they tried to save the babies, they really tried. but nothing could be done. they weren't far enough along, and as soon as mama's heart stopped, so did theirs."
Strange turned, and ran his hand down his face. he took a deep breath, before turning back, with actual regret in his eyes. "y/n, i am so sorry."
you shook your head. "it's not your apology to give. it was you, but it wasn't you." you explained. you sniffled, wiped your eyes on your sleeve, and forced a fake smile. "it's in the past." you assured, before looking at Wong.
"what do you need me to do?" you asked, and Wong gave you a smile.
"we were hoping your presence would help Wanda come to her senses. she's got the Darkhold, and it is poisoning her mind." he explained. "if we don't get her to stop, it becomes a choice between America, and your mother, and no one should have to make that choice."
you went to answer, before something caught your eyes outside, over the courtyard. you turned your head, and saw a red dot, growing larger in the sky.
"she's here," America said, fear in her voice.
"i'll do what I can." you explained.
Tumblr media
"all of this, for a child you met yesterday?" Wanda asked as Stephen slowed to a stop in front of her.
"Wanda, you are justifiably angry," Strange said, as he was face to face with Wanda, hovering high above Kamar Taj. "you've had to make terrible sacrifices."
"I blew a hole through the head of the man I loved." Wanda stated, her voice shaking. "and it meant, nothing. do not speak to me of sacrifice, Stephen Strange." you watched as she moved her hands down, using her powers to move closer to Strange. "if you give me what I want, I will send you to a world where you can be with Christine."
you watched from the ground as Strange backed up. "the full might of Kamar Taj stands against you." he stated, just as Wong instructed the students to take defensive positions. "do not dare to enter these sacred grounds." he stated firmly.
your eyes watered as you saw Wanda. your Mama. she was alive. it may not be the exact same Mama who gave birth to you and raised you, but it was still your Mama. you took a step forward. 'if i could just talk to her,' you thought to yourself. 'even if i can't stay with her, maybe i could change her mind.' but before you could even vocalize those thoughts to Wong, he shook his head.
"not yet. Strange has a plan."
you gave the sorcerer supreme a pleading look. "but Wong if i could just talk to her, i-"
"no, not yet. wait." he said, his head turning from you, back up to Strange and Wanda in the sky.
"you have no idea just how reasonable i've been."
Strange chuckled. "yeah, the Book of the Damned, calling yourself a witch, conjuring creatures to abduct a kid, i don't exactly call that being reasonable."
Wanda half smirked, her eyes still watery. "sending those creatures after her instead of myself was...mercy." she began. "and in spite of your...hypocrisies, and insults, i have begged you to safely get. out. of. my. way." she emphasized, firmly speaking to Strange. "you have exhausted my patience," she continued. "but i do hope you understand, that even now what's about to happen.
"this is me, being reasonable." she finished with a whisper.
"HOLD!" Wong shouted, before looking at you. "go," he said.
"what?" you asked, unsure what he meant.
"go! go to Strange!" he clarified. "the plan!"
you gulped, but nodded, and pointed your hands at the ground. but before you could take flight, Wanda aimed her powers at Strange, and a huge bang echoed through the air as it met the invisible shield.
Strange landed beside you a moment later, shaking his head. "forget it. didn't work."
Wanda flew to the side, and Wong yelled again.
"reinforce the shield!"
you watched as Wanda threw bursts of her powers at Kamar Taj, all of them being deflected by the shield. she aimed once more, but stopped, narrowing her eyes, and trying to enter the students minds.
"she's trying to get into their heads." Strange said, and Wong shouted once more.
"sorcerers, fortify your mind!"
nothing happened for a few moments, until a sorcerer with shoulder length curly hair dropped his shield, and ran in the opposite direction, knocking onto other sorcerers along the way.
the shield began to break up, a butterfly effect from the sorcerer running.
a hole formed in the shield, and Wanda shot her powers through it. the force of it hitting the ground threw you backwards, and into a pillar, knocking you out cold.
Tumblr media
when you came to a few moments later, Wanda was still unleashing her anger and power on Kamar Taj. sorcerers were flying left and right, and energy balls were hitting the ground with immense force.
Strange and Wong called for everyone to take cover, just before Wanda landed, a loud boom rippling through the cement below you.
Strange and Wong seemed to forget about you, running inside after the students, but Strange came to his senses and stopped at the door.
"you want the girl, you'll have to go through me." he said.
she opened her mouth to respond, but you interjected, remembering what Wanda had in her possession.
"Mama, stop!" you shouted.
Wanda's head flipped towards you, confusion written on her face.
"y/n, this isn't-" Strange began but you shook your head.
"no, i can do this!" you insisted.
"she could hurt you," he said. "seriously hurt you."
"i have powers too, or did you forget?" you asked, and you felt Wanda's eyes focus in on you.
"who is this?" she demanded.
Stephen took his eyes off of you, and looked back at Wanda.
"answer my question, Stephen." she said, eerily calm.
he sighed, but answered her. "she is your daughter. your daughter from another universe. we thought she could talk you out of this, but you decimated Kamar Taj before-"
"i have a daughter?" Wanda asked, a tear rolling down her face.
Stephen nodded. "yes, Wanda, you do."
Wanda tilted her head to the side. "how does bringing my daughter, from another universe, help me to not leave this one? you brought me someone else's child, and expect me to stop?"
"i lost you." you said. you'd finally pulled yourself to your feet, holding onto the pillar for support. "the Strange from that universe, he killed her. he killed her, and my brothers." you said, sniffling as you were overcome with emotion once more.
"you have two options, Wanda." Stephen said, but Wanda didn't take her eyes off of you. "either leave, or I will be forced to have you meet the same fate as her mother."
"and what of y/n?" Wanda asked, finally turning back to Stephen. "no mother, no brothers, no family. i leave here, what happens to her?"
"that is up to her." Strange replied, looking at you. "it's your choice kid. you can stay, or you can go back."
"i don't have anyone." you said quietly. "no family, no friends. i'm in foster care, and i'm constantly moving around. my belongings consist of a garbage bag full of clothes and books." you explained. "it's not a hard choice." you looked at Wanda. "i want to stay."
"well, there-" Stephen began, but you cut him off.
"if i get to stay with her." you finished, and Stephen looked at you, alarmed.
"no, y/n, you can't."
"why not?" you demanded.
"y/n, she's deranged and dangerous. you know the legend of the Scarlet Witch, it is her destiny to destroy the world."
you chuckled. "what about Caelestia, her daughter? do you know her legend, her prophecy?"
"can't say I have." he responded, and you laughed.
"so you read my mother's prophecy, written by Chthon himself, but you don't bother to read mine?" you asked, amused. typical Strange.
"look, kid, it's not like i have the most recent edition of the Darkhold just lying around to read whenever i please."
before you answered, a whooshing sound was heard, and the Darkhold appeared in front of Wanda. she flipped through the pages, but before she could find what she was looking for, you began to speak.
"Caelestia, first and only daughter of the Scarlet Witch. unbound by factions and invocation, but outcast. Come will the day that her true power will be known, a seed which will not sprout but burst into flame. it shall be then, when the lost scarlet falls away, revealing it's true form, that Caelestia, the exiled one, will bring forth a calm, and a unity." you recited.
"i am meant to be with her, i can see that now." you said. "i never knew what it meant when i was younger, neither did she." you said, looking at Wanda. "i was brought into my world to save her. just as my mother sacrificed her life for mine."
you turned to Wanda, who was looking at you. her head was tilted slightly, and tears rimmed her eyes. "Mama, i know you're hurting, believe me, i do." you said. "i know what it feels like, to remembering holding the boys in your arms, and be painfully reminded that you don't have them. but killing America and taking her powers won't make that pain go away."
"you don't know that."
"i do. what do you think happened to my universes Strange after he killed my mother? do you think i let him walk away?" you asked, walking closer to her. "of course i didn't. he took my mother, he took you, away from me. i wanted him to fix it, to bring her back, but he couldn't. i thought ending his life would make me feel better, but it didn't. it changed nothing."
"but i'm not just killing her."
"i know that, Mama. you're going to take her powers. i did that too; it's not worth it. think of our powers like a book character in a series. when you take another's powers, it's not like when you read a different book, not from that series. it doesn't give you a secondary power that you can switch between whenever you want. it's like reading a book within that original series. the second book in a series makes the main character stronger, their journey stronger. taking another's power gives us just that, more power. it melts and warps that new power into our own, adding it to our existing power. by killing America and taking her power, the only thing that will change is your strength. you won't be able to travel universes like her." you explained, hesitantly making your way towards her.
"but the boys, i-" she said, a tear running down her cheek.
"i lost them too." you said. "hours after i lost you. we've both lost them, but by you walking away, and me being with you, we're fulfilling a prophecy." you explained. you came to a stop in front of her, and looked her in the eyes.
"Mama, i know you. you're hurting. the world hasn't been kind to you. they've treated you like the villain, like an object. but these thoughts inside your head aren't yours. they are the Darkhold's. they are Chthon's. he said you were destined to destroy the world, but you don't have to. by fulfilling my prophecy, we'll be proving yours wrong. proving him wrong. you're a good person, Mama, i know you are. you can be a Mama again." you said, and Wanda sniffled, dropping the Darkhold.
"h-how?" she asked. "i didn't give birth to you, i could never give you what you need, or deserve."
"yes you can," you expressed, meeting her eyes. "you lost your children, i lost my mom. but my mother was you, so i am your daughter, and you are my mother. you, Mama, are all i need. i need my Mama." you whispered, swallowing the lump in your throat. "don't send me back, Mama." you asked, tears flowing from your eyes.
you looked down, and held back the sob that was fighting it's way out of your throat. you felt arms wrap around you, and you head rested on a warm chest.
"never." Wanda whispered. "you're all i need too, i think. i won't send you back. i'll be your Mama."
"Wanda, this isn't like in Westview. she isn't going to age up when it is convenient for you. she is her own person, with her own feelings, personality, and power. this isn't a fantasy, this is real life. are you sure you're ready for that?" Stephen asked, and Wanda looked up at the sorcerer.
"yes. she is my daughter, and i need to protect her." she said. "thank you, for bringing her to me. i don't know what i would have done if she didn't talk sense into me."
"you would have killed me, for starters," America said, from behind Stephen, a smirk on her face.
"i am sorry, America. i know that doesn't make up for what i did, but-"
"no, don't. don't apologize," America said. "there's no need. i lost my mothers too, i know how it feels to lose someone that important. just-" she said. "don't try to kill me again, and we can just forget this ever happened."
Wanda nodded. "agreed." she turned to Wong. "can i take my daughter home now?" she asked, and Wong nodded.
"of course, Miss Maximoff. thank you for making the right decision." he said, and Wanda nodded to you.
"i couldn't have done it if it wasn't for her." she said with a smile.
"i'll work on the lunch box," Strange said from behind you. "and i promise to not kill you." he finished with a smile.
Wanda didn't respond, she just smiled. she turned, and after pressing a kiss to your hair, the two of you were flying into the sunset.
Tumblr media
6 months later
you were sat on the floor, trying to undo the knot in your Air Forces. "Блядь," you whispered, before giving up and using your powers to untie them. the laces finally untied, and you were able to slip them onto your feet. you retied them, without double knotting them this time, and stood up. (fuck)
after another glance in the mirror at your outfit, you grabbed your backpack off of the bed, and headed down stairs for breakfast.
you dropped your bag off at the front door, before heading into the kitchen. as you entered the kitchen, you were greeted by a ceramic plate crashing into your head.
"ой!" you exclaimed rubbing your forehead before looking at your mother. "you and your flying saucers," you said, and she looked back at you with a smirk on her face, before walking over. (ouch!)
"i'm sorry, малышка." she said, kissing your forehead. "i had my back turned and didn't hear you come in." (babygirl)
"все в порядке, мама," you said, giving her a smile. "what's for breakfast?" (it's okay, mama)
"your favourite," she said, as you sat down at the table. you smiled, thanked her, and dug in.
(Wanda POV)
Wanda watched as you ate your breakfast eagerly. the both of you had come so far since that day at Kamar Taj. with the help of Stephen, you were enrolled in school, and had fully settled into life on Earth 616. you'd formed a close friendship with America, and to her slight dismay, Peter Parker. you'd helped her immensely. she felt content, and happier than she can ever remember being.
she was a mother. yes, she didn't have her boys, but she had you, her daughter. the daughter who came from another universe to save her, and she thanked the gods every day that Strange and Wong brought you here.
"can America come over after school? we have Kamala's birthday party tonight but Stephen can't pick her up until after the party." you asked from the table, taking a sip of orange juice as you looked down at your phone.
"of course," Wanda replied, with a smile. she had worried that her past would hinder your ability to make friends, but it seemed you had no issues with that, other than the fact that all of your friends seemed to have powers. but, you'd told her that it didn't bother you.
'it just means i don't have to hide who i truly am, Mama,' you'd justified to her, and then let the guilty thoughts go. "are you guys going to be here for dinner?"
you nodded, putting your phone down. you stood up, grabbed your plate, and placed it in the sink. "yeah, the party doesn't start until 7."
Wanda nodded, just as her alarm went off on her own phone.
"дерьмо," Wanda said. "we gotta go, baby, or we're gonna be late." (shit)
you nodded, grabbed your phone off the counter, and followed Wanda into the entryway. the two of you got ready quickly, and you grabbed your backpack.
Wanda looked at your outfit. "are you going to be warm enough in that?" she asked, and you nodded.
"yeah, Mama." you said exasperatedly. she raised her eyebrows, and watched in amusement as you sighed, but opened the closet and grabbed your coat out of it. "but i will take my coat if it makes you happy."
Wanda opened the door, and you walked out. "it does, малышка, thank you." she said, and shut the door behind her. (babygirl)
she shook her head, amused, as she watched you walk towards the car. even when you were sassy, she couldn't be more thankful for you.
