im usually a pretty positive person but the jily vs jegulus stuff is lowkey getting to me! i log in to tumblr for fun fandom fluff (and occasional angst) but this 'war' is making me lose the passion and love for marauders bcos i'm apparently misogynistic for liking jegulus!! ahhh soz for the lil rant but its getting me down!! don't even get me started on the nazi sympathiser stuff regarding regulus omgggg!
Hi hon!
I completely understand <3

"i can't post marauders girls content ill lose so many followers :((("
so we continue to let the fandom overlook women and femme aligned characters as well as be lowkey misogynistic and sexist so you don't lose a couple followers?

It seems you are only seeing what you want to see.
Trans people who are fan of HP despite the author being a TERF aren't suddenly on her side. Besides, I wonder where you got that info from, if it's from a tweet or not. I will point out that it's ironic how you hate Rowling for being a TERF, but then bring up the decade-old snapewives out of nowhere to shame the female part of the Snape fandom as a whole over loving a fictional character... like many do for other fictional characters. This is lowkey misogynistic.
I never made excuses. I hardly talked about Snape as a character with you, except when pointing out that no, he didn't join the DEs just because his feelings were not reciprocated. Not making excuses does not mean creating a headcanon and slapping it onto the books to make it seem more stomachable in your taste. Reminding canon is not making excuses either. I brought in marauderfen as an example, though you will see I first referred to haters in general. But just as a test: can you tell me which difference there is between making excuses and explaining canon, along with examples?
I am also aware that loving Snape does not mean you must hate the marauders, just as hating Snape does not mean you must love the marauders. I understand nuance. This is what allows me (contrary to you) to understand that being a fan of HP does not make you a Rowling supporter, and that yes, you can indeed, at least in sufficient extent, seperate the work from the artist.
I find it questionable that on the one hand, you accuse me of saying I don't make excuses while making excuses (which I'm not anyway), while on the other hand, you tell me you're not saying I'm in a cult but then say I "surely sound" like I'm in a cult. I reckon this is called projection.
I will admit that Snape is a fabulous hero in HP, with nuance and goodness. I won't tell you "which tragic profundity there is in literally mentally torture a child", simply because you seem to want to talk about canon Snape only. Not an OC.
Look I don't really have a problem with people liking bad characters I have my own pet monsters, serial killers(fictional ones) and just plain unpleasant pieces of shit who are both unforgivable and cursed
My problem is that, forgive me for quoting a fall out boy lyric but they put best, y'all are trying to "Make boys nextdoor out of assholes"
Like by god you want to like the piece of shit character do it but spare the internet of your constant justification for their actions
Here's the thing just because someone suffered at some point doesn't mean they have a free pass to just be a disgraceful scumbag
genocide it's not a good answer to have emotionally unavailable parents
Conspiracy and torturous homicide it's not a good answer for being the least favorite child
Association with supremacists eugenicists groups it's not a good answer to not having your affections reciprocated
Sexual assault violence and overall cruelty it's not a good response to Losing your family at a young age
You want to like the bastards like the bastards but please don't try to make them a tragic hero when the only thing they did was deflect their own personal drama into violence and pain to Innocent victims
