What are your thoughts on Reigen I'm so curious now
Ohhh where do i start with Contradictions Georg himself.... Masking Andy... (clenches teeth) I have to make a list so I don't rant about one particular thing only.
the thing that hits hardest for me about his character is his Existentialism man. it's terribly relatable. Indeed, he is a Very Small Guy in a Very Big World and it's difficult to be Seen because of that. But also he's littered with Fear of Being Perceived and Understood. So he deals with his Existentialism by reaching for something (he doesn't know what) that'll make him somebody (he doesn't know who, just that it can't be his genuine self). MAN!!!!!!
Second thing that hits hard about his character is his unfiltered insecurities and self-loathing. Every time someone goes "We have to talk" he goes over every mistake or possible mistake he's ever made. He's the type of guy to search up the meaning of a word before he uses it, even if he's used it a 100 times before. Because what if he's wrong this one specific time?? Also his insecurities frequently make him act worse (sometimes on purpose, sometimes not) rather than better (as opposed to Mob most of the time) and i appreciate that so much.
I appreciate his Just Some Guyness over his babygirlness (not that they can't coexist i guess). Sorry guys. This is also why i think i prefer manga Reigen over anime Reigen. Like i can appreciate anime Reigen's maxed-out eccentricities and stuff, but overall I like the more Reservedness (?) that manga Reigen has. Personally it makes his groundedness, bad actions, and self-improvement hit a little harder. It goes well with his struggle to display his emotions in a loose and genuine way.
but despite this he's still silly. and frequently outlandishly embarrassing. and these are super important to his character also. Alongside his very genuine concern and care for the lives of others at any given moment.
He's always talking about his interpersonal relationships in terms of the Respect the other party holds for him. and then Separation Arc comes in with a steel chair that says "you have to give respect back to make a relationship Good and Fair and Genuine, idiot."
the only relationship this doesn't hold true to is with Dimple. Neither of them have any respect for each other really. And it's awesome.
i love how he is always just some Mediocre guy. He slowly self-improves certain aspects of his life but at the end of the day he's still paying Grown Man Serizawa 300 yen an hour (last time I checked). So.
Him being Mob's foil also means he has a lot in common with other Mob antagonists. But he has so many Mogamisms that it drives me up the wall. Sometimes he'll say a Mogamism and in my mind Mob looks at him with such a sudden intensity that he gets Scared
I frequently think of the scene where he is at the bar during Separation Arc and he realizes the bar people aren't his friends. And he says "I'm not good at this" and leaves. I don't have much to expand here but just know that when I think of how he experiences interpersonal relationships I think about this line. Because he's so good at a lot of things but Not This (Relationships overall. But also probably solving their problems in the moment).
not a fan of Dad or Uncle Reigen. To anyone really. Sorryyy. No hate to those who are though.
uhhhhhhh umm this has gotten so long. Sorry this is so unorganized i think i do better with more direct questions because i suck at staying on topic/being concise when i have free reign. There's so many aspects of his character that I didn't get to here that I also love. But its so hard to think of them all. I hope this gives you an idea though?

Vongola Kids Weapon Use Cases
(Space here in case I ever do this again with another group[s])
This is a really, REALLY long weapon analysis of estimations of how they would be used in a more realistic way. Disclaimer: This is a thought experiment, does not take flame uses into account in most cases unless that is the explicit only use of the weapon, does not cover animal box weapons. This is the best estimation I could do, and is likely not perfect due to this being a bunch of anime weapons, despite this, i think it gives potentially a good idea of how they would work in fights, though some would have to be toned down repercussions or re-designed based how they worked even if used realistically as some would harm the user significantly, so keep that in mind when reading that this is not to dictate how to write it.
with that in mind, let's get started.
Tsunayoshi Sawada
Weapons: X-Gloves, Cambio-Forma Mantle, Cambio-Forma Knuckle
X-Gloves
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These DO have subtle differences to how it would affect their hits, and their WEIGHT, each being definitely heavier than the last.
The gloves themselves, on the first two iterations have very little points where they are much harder than a goalie glove, it will hurt but at the same time the blows are going to be slightly softened because of the material they're made of.
The fingers would not actually bend all that well, these gloves are THICK and would restrict some movement you would not likely be able to make a closed fist, ESPECIALLY not on the Vongola gear version where there is actual metal in the joints. and YES this metal goes all they way around the joints leaving VERY little ability to position fingers further.
however one thing for sure is that should you be hit with the actual metal of the gloves in the 2nd and 3rd version it's going to fucking hurt. However the 3rd version would require more arm strength to heft the same way without issue. should it have been realistic the change would have actually affected Tsuna's flight due to how movement would have to be adjusted unless you want to argue he already had enough strength that it would be unnoticeable, which honestly with having to preform x-burner and the pressure that would put on his body, i could see that.
Essentially, the best way of using these sans flames is essentially back handing someone really hard on the second and third, though.
Cambio Forma Mantle
Tumblr media
The mantle is a bit harder to tell exactly how it's used is, it seems that the cape itself more protects from off shoot of flame and is used to absorb flame into it when hit, however there's the hard part that seems to be based off a buckler shield in use that's attached to tsuna's hand.
Which is a rather Ideal weapon, however unlike the buckler it's more flat meaning it's made to take blows head on instead of completely deflecting them.
This is an issue, as blocking blows like this can sometimes stagger your hands and injure limbs through the shield, which is more likely because you're taking the full force of the attack and are trying to tough it out, vs a rounded shield redirecting some of that energy allowing the weapon to slide off and giving less surface area to take less energy into it, this is why bigger shields aren't completely flat but have rounder metal in the middle, or are curved like cop shields.
Fortunately for Tsuna he usually only has to use it once or twice before he can break out of the position he's in so that he can give his hand time to recover.
Cambio Forma Knuckle
Tumblr media
(note: I used the manga version because it was clearer how it was used as you can actually see tsuna's hands. and for some reason the anime added additional pincers to it?)
first the dual pincers obviously are going to be able to stab and slash the opponent, however this makes the middle part on top redundant.
Which is thicker and much more blunt, thus made to bash the opponent, however with the outer pieces they would slow down any hit that could be made and make the blunt area a little less effective.
however it could be used similarly to a bat with a nail in it, the middle part being more for the stability and as a back up if one misses. otherwise the weapon has a very specific proper hit area it can really be used most effectively from the front. Though the sides while would hurt, or the top, is clearly not the intended use of the weapon and thusly is not the aim of the user when it comes to using them for attacks.
additionally using a weapon like this can put heavy pressure on the wrist, so if he hits something hard or heavy he'll probably feel it really bad.
Hayato Gokudera
Weapons: Dynamite, Flame Arrow, G's Archery
Dynamite + Vongola gear version
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am going to have to mark all of the dynamite with "Okay so there's not exactly a way to use these WRONG other than being within range of them."
However the more he uses the more dangerous it is, as it inevitably will become a bigger explosion, making the safe range shrink with each he throws, resulting in heat burns at the minimum level, potentially being thrown back, to actual burns and being thrown into something. Due to the rocket bombs being made to fire off further away, they are much safer to use against opponents than the regular dynamite, unless you aim them improperly or their flight is obstructed.
vongola gear cambio forma because that is JUST more effective and effiencent rocket bombs that seek out the opponent, and hold the same caveats as the previous ones
Flame Arrow
Tumblr media
Let's talk recoil
SO here's a massive problem with flame arrow. It's attached to the entirety of the arm. This is an issue for one particular reason. Stiffening the entire arm for these blows can help but with it attached like this, the recoil is going to spread over your entire arm.
Not to mention, gokudera is clearly not holding it with that hand. He always needs to press down with his other one. Meaning there is a lot of free force reoil of this gun slamming into his knuckles even when he is holding it with his other hand. this weapon's long term use would have resulted in many injuries.
Especially an explosive shot like flame arrow is. this is a known issue with gun use where eventually even lighter guns over years of use can cause wrist, shoulder, elbow and back pain. Even with good technique.
But flame arrow, being an explosive weapon would have significantly more kickback to it, even more than most one handed weapons would. After battles, Gokudera would be sore all over even using this thing correctly, not that he would notice with the injuries after most battles in future arc.
Now to give you an idea on how most explosive round launchers prevent recoil here is an image of a very rudimentary rocket launcher in use and a more modern one, both of which you'll notice have roughly the same sort of over the shoulder build, with exactly two hands use and a secondary/tertiary part that goes against the shoulder ALL of this to minimize recoil and give control over what is ONE explosive round being shot out
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The part on the shoulder is also cushioned in some way as well as to not damage the person as well. Additionally the Exhaust/Reload area is BEHIND the person because actual BURNING EXHAUST GAS comes out of there. Gokudera does load this thing with a physical explosive round and should that have worked like it should, flame arrow's positioning would absolutely result in burns. Flame arrow if used realistically is just as much of a threat to its user as its target if not more.
Cambio Forma G's Archery
Tumblr media
Let's talk bow strength and how heavy draw strings are(not that this would matter because some how gokudera has arms after having flame arrow attached to them) so, here's the thing, a lot of bows even short bows, can be heavy, they're not intended to be held outstretched for a long time.
Bow size dictates how long the range and how much power you can get it. Bigger the bow bigger the force and range. pretty simple. HOWEVER, it also dictates the more strength you need in your arm to not only pull that string back, but also BEND THE BOW WITH IT.
When you are pulling a bow, you are pulling all of it so it pulls back on a thick and heavy bow
Tumblr media
As you can imagine you FEEL that most archers will NOT hold the bow for more than a few moments at a time and if they aren't capable of taking the shot as fast as they thought they would, they will slowly rescind the arrow and start moving until they can and quickly shoot again.
Under no realistic scenario are you holding this thing drawn while running around that my friends is what a CROSSBOW is for.
Fortunately for Gokudera unlike most archers, he has no reason to worry about arrow waste, meaning he can draw the bow and release it immediately with no problems making it much easier for him to volley arrows until it hits something(not recommended as it will tire your arm a lot but it is an option for him) However adding more arrows does not affect the effort, you just won't be getting the most accurate shot on all of them.
and yes bows still do have recoil but it is ONLY from the string, so a strong steady hand will never have the same problem as with a gun as it can only do so much more than what you put into it. The recoil to the body comes from whatever hand is used to hold the main bow and not the draw string
so even though his shots with his storm flames are REALLY powerful, it doesn't wear on his body as much in this form because the power sending it out is not the storm flames but rather the actual bow.
Takeshi Yamamoto
Weapons: Shigure Kintoki, Four Irregular Swords, Necklace of Rain
Shigure Kintoki
Tumblr media
This is basically the o katana, it's a pretty standard weapon with a medium length, you don't really use the back of it's blade, while it is a trope that it won't harm people, this is factually incorrect, and you are putting a immense amount of force in a thin line, which is actually worse than something more spread out than the flat of it. If you use a sword this way, expect internal damages like broken bones and internal bleeding to potentially ruptured organs depending where and how hard you hit.
these are decently heavy on the arms but lighter than most european blades of their size due to how the metal is but it means they can succumb to heavier blades if hit right. you will feel moving them and the longer you fight the more draining the swing can become. But because it's recommended to block and parrying with a katana is still using that flat with a lot more hits to it, you will start to feel it in your hands as you cannot quite rely on that guard stopping an incoming blade while it slides against your own. Really, it's the perfect target for attacco di squalo because it gives a GOOD point to take a lot of force into that will travel into the hands of the user.
You typically do not see much more than quick katana smacks together because of this. additionally this is not a stabbing blade, you CAN use it to stab but it's much more of a slashing blade, meaning tight corridors are it's enemy. but also meaning a katana user is much more likely to aim for a swipe of some sort other than anything else.
Cambio Forma Four Irregular Swords
Tumblr media
First, this thing is going to be heavy to one hand since this is clearly the length of a strictly two handed blade. It is longer than an odachi with a handle that can clearly support 2 hands not that Yamamoto ever fucking uses it because his hands are busy with with the 3 other blades. the weighting on it though is absolutely fucked, the top would be much lighter than the rest of the blade, in conclusion even using this sword is going to make your arm exhausted within a few minutes using it like how yamamoto does.
Additionally european blades are fundamentally built different than japanese blades(building a sword with both techniques would probably make it frail or have a weak point where it changes resulting in the top snapping off), their techniques, and their weaknesses and strengths are all different, fusing something like this means you have a completely random ass strength/weakness depending on what part of the blade you're using making it difficult to use if you're not familiar with both sword types at BEST of cases(which we know Yamamoto isn't), what yamamoto intends to be a non-lethal hit could slice someone by accident with how the blade is 1 half a european blade as an example.
Another thing with a long blade like this, no matter whether you're holding it correctly or not, you need to commit to EVERY SWING, there is barely if ANY room to fake out your opponent due to the weight of it.
It should be noted, there is no precedent for using 4 swords mid battle, however multiple daggers could be used in one hand to slash an opponent, or catch their weapon, though admittedly, only one would be a better choice for this. The other potential better use for there being 3 extra is if they were all different lengths, allowing the user to switch between a multitude of options. However all the swords despite being called irregular swords, the 3 are all almost identical length.
A larger range in difference would have suited the user better, however there is used for tanto being a sort of counter blade, both for blocking in-coming attacks, or if your own sword is making an opening to slash them with the smaller weapon. They're pretty light weight and are not too much of a problem, even in longer fights.
Of course with all swords one needs to be mindful on how and when they take direct blocking instead of redirecting. Taking a full block to stop all energy of your opponents blade will always send a little shock to your hand.
Ryohei
Weapons: Boxing gloves(Maximum break and Vongola Gear)
Boxing gloves
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ryohei who doesn't have much change over his weapons, he's not really give a lot of options in the series unlike the main three(not like he'd like to diverge from boxing let's be honest) so they can all be lumped in as direct upgrades weapon wise.
Generally though his use case is punch and punch hard much like with actual boxing gloves, really they just serve to protect his hands more as he's doing it. with a lot of martial arts and close contact sports you are going to feel the weight of your own hits on someone else, and you are absolutely capable of causing your hand to bleed just from punching another person.
Ryohei has likely slowly toughened up his hands as regular boxers do so it's unlikely to happen to him unless it's a longer fight(but with his time limit fighting this is a mute note unless you're before cambio forma) the best places for him to target is usually the head, but punches to the kidney area or other such areas are also usually really good.
However the trouble for him is usually his shorter range means closing in with an opponent's weapon is trouble.
Lambo
Weapons: Grenades, Horns, Lampow's Shield, Thunder Helm
Grenades
Tumblr media
we are starting with his grenades which are significantly weaker than most but generally much like actual grenades, pull the pin and throw them as far away from you, hoping that nothing changes their trajectory. Pretty simple to use.
Horns
Tumblr media
I will note, while i'm not looking at flame output, this weapon so long as it's not the oldest version basically works like a taser, thus i will be working off of this assumption.
So their use case is very dangerous to the user as it would require not only extremely close contact, but also leaves the user open to any potential attacks at they tip their head, additionally if not positioned right the user will simply headbutt their target instead of delivering a shock.
One thing with headbutting is that it just about hurts the person doing it as much as the person receiving it and is generally a desperate moving hoping that you'll be able to tough it out more than the other person.
Every attack lambo makes should it hit, does risk harming himself more than his attacker even if he does hit with the electricity.
Cambio Forma Lampow's Shield
Tumblr media
One problem is that shields are usually paired with a weapon for a reason, they simply aren't made to be damaging. However this one is a better shield than the flame mantle, clearly rounded to aid attacks in bouncing off not taking the full of any attack and curving attacks out.
The way that it could be used as a weapon is to shield bash someone, this is where, should you be close enough, you ram the shield into their body or if there's a good opening, their head. Lambo, being too small for this is lucky that he has flames to use alongside it.
An additional way it can be used thanks to the horns is as a bludgeon, the horns don't actually go high enough to stab anything well, but you can grab them and use them for leverage for an attack. This isn't recommended though.
As with anything when being hit, you will not completely absorb all attack and it does take energy to resist being knocked over or slammed, even with a shield. Defending all the time will whittle down the user.
Thunder Helm
Tumblr media
Well his main use case is from the massive taser horns. Should they be used however, all of that is putting risk on the user's neck. Both with it's heavy weight, but also the fact that if they ram into anything like let's say a heavy object that does not want to move, all of that, is not only going to send all of that down the spine, it's going to focus down on the weakest part. Potentially breaking the neck and doing significant damage to the body.
Though should the electricity shock the opponent before it puts too much pressure on the body then the user would be safe. the use of this weapon would actually be incredibly risky that way.
Otherwise much easier use cases that aren't as threatening to the user would be using the gauntlets and boots to fight until a key moment. Their heavy weight would allow them to do some harm.
However due to how massive the armour actually is, it is unlikely that the user could move around much without exhaustion developing quickly.
Ironically despite being a weapon made to protect, it risks the user greatly.
Hibari
Weapons: Tonfas, Handcuffs
Tonfas + Vongola Gear
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hibari's tonfa, which is also a multi-tool even without flame. It has, a hook, thorns, a chain with hooks at the end, and finally panels that can open up and shoot out air to deflect light weapons completely.
i'll have to break each little thing into it's own section starting with the tonfa itself
Tonfa are very rudimentary weapons, in rest position they sit alongside the user's arms as guards. The can be used to bludgeon this way, or flipped to lengthen the range of the attack or if the user needs to block or reroute an attack, they're very versatile. Like most close range weapons, they need to be careful of their hands and how they take hits. Another technique is the spin of the the tonfa to add more power into an attack. However one risks hurting their own hand if done improperly or blocked. The fact hibari uses this liberally shows his confidence in his ability as well as his possible recklessness.
addition a. Hook - the hook is placed at the mid point of the tonfa, giving very good stability when using it to pull a weapon, however it's use case is very niche, as the tonfa must be in correct position and the weapon used cannot be too big, ie. a baseball bat. Clearly better for thinner weapons than the tonfa itself, and that's not too many. Additionally, with how thin the hook is, it could be snapped by a strong opponent. One other threat to using a hook like this is just as you may be able to disarm your opponent, unless your opponent is in a very bad position or hold, they may be just as likely to disarm you using this.
Addition b. Thorns - This is a very strange addition to the tonfa. as it clearly goes on all sides of the tonfa, this can damage the user just by having the tonfa hit by a weapon and these pricking into your arm. They're also all pointed one way, meaning lunging and sweeping attacks are preferred by this form so the thorns can scrape against the opponent. However, wider attacks like this are not good in enclosed spaces, and can leave the user open. this form is definitely for aggression only, as it leaves it's user way too open to be defensive.
Addition c. hook and chain - a weighted hook on a chain, useful for getting additional range, however with the caveat if it ever gets caught on something or your opponent gets a hold of it you may pay for it. Unlike other attachments that use the tonfa regularly, these need to be used as a flail, the tonfa needs to be continuously spun in order to get enough momentum and to keep the momentum till it slams into the target. Being hit by this directly, will fuck up someone bad. with the sheer momentum strength a flail has, is can outclass a lot of bludgeoning melee weapons with the caveat that it must be kept moving in order to keep it's arc steady, though you can just swing them and it does the trick usually.
The more exhausted you are, the harder this will be to do, especially in the case hibari has, as unlike normal flails, with just a stick to use, he has to swing an entire tonfa with it in a specific pattern so it doesn't hit him by accident. Other issues he will face, missed swings will retain momentum and can put him off balance(especially if tired already), and the weapon can hit him instead of his target if he misses. Additionally, if you strike with one, it may bounce back, and if you should hit, you must bring it back to proper direction to prepare another attack. A complex weapon to use for the damage it does.
Also in the Vongola Gear version, the hook on chain now shoots out like a hook shot. This can definitely knock someone out(or worse), however it's infinite length does mean a lot of potential to get caught on things or lash backwards hitting the user when retracting like when a tape measure flick backs and as it enters it's point it thwicks backwards up and down.
Addition d. Air rockets - 3 panels that open up and will shoot an extremely strong gust of air. Once again we're back to recoil, this, would cause the tonfa to slam into hibari's hand and could even force his arm to move if he's not holding correctly/braced. This would have kickback to it at a high rate, likely higher than a normal gun in order to create enough air to do this, his hands be aching. so he'll have to use this sparingly as not to also accidentally disarm himself.
Handcuffs + Vongola Gear
Tumblr media
I will not be counting the multiplication factor i am just looking at handcuffs as weapons. There's a few different way's they can be used if the user is creative.
Firstly, hand cuffing the opponent to self, this can give you control over the opponent should you know how to use it. of course, wearing handcuffs fucking hurt, they're metal and you can bruise up your wrist and hand. So instead it would be better to use the weapon by handcuffing the opponent and using the other cuff as a sort of handle, giving you the advantage in controlling them. Of course, this is risky as now you're in short range of the opponent, but if you get their weapon hand, you can control how they use it and even use this to disarm them if you get behind them and pull on this and force their arm into positions that it absolutely should not go. Alternatively, if you get them on a leg, you can absolutely use this to trip them up too.
Secondly, actually managing to properly handcuffing them, will prevent them from using anything aside from their feet... if you've handcuffed them with their hands behind their back that is, they can still absolutely hurt you if you've hand cuffed them at the front, but their range of motion will be a lot more contained. This obviously makes them vulnerable, unless they're trained in martial arts that have some moves that kicks and are skilled in it. But you can also hand cuff their ankles if you manage to be sneaky enough about it, which will immediately become a problem as it restricts their movement really badly giving you the advantage of getting out of their range whenever you want.
Additionally in the Vongola gear version, that the handcuffs are now sharpened internally and can be used to cut the opponent in addition to restricting them.
Chrome + Mukuro (They share weapons)
Weapons: Trident, Earring of Mist
Trident
Tumblr media
These much like spears are considered the very very good option of both range and versatility. Their long length allows the user a lot of safety from other weapons and the 3 pronged nature of the trident can be used to catch incoming weapons and create openings. as the user typically holds it with two hands the shock that's absorbed is usually less than a one handed weapon's, additionally will be spread out more over the long length of the trident. You can also use the other end to bludgeon enemies.
You can throw this weapon but if you don't have any back up weapons and you miss well... maybe don't do that unless you have to or you'll be very awkwardly unarmed.
Some caveats the trident has is the 3 pronged nature does make it harder to remove after you've stabbed into something. Thankfully this version has the middle longer, which is with a purpose, as if the other two were longer, if they hit anything before the middle one, they may actually prevent you from trying to stab that thing you're trying to stab.
However, the other issue with the trident is very much the same thing that makes it good in fields, it's length. In close quarters or closer spaces you will not have as much room to use it, thankfully if you're in a corridor that's like the best place as it's made for stabbing. However the three prongs, while it can be used to deflect weapons, it can be also used to re-route your own.
Additionally, unlike other weapons made with the idea your opponent will be able to strike you, there is little to no protection should you fail to use the whole of the staff to protect you, as well as there being no protection for your hands at all.
Earring of Mist
Tumblr media
If you were to use any staff as a weapon without it's magic, it's gonna be used as a bludgeoning weapon. the top is actually perfect for this the uneven shape and clear weight to it would do well. it would give some decent range to it too. not a horrible weapon.
However there are some caveats to it. it's a lot shorter and very thin with no guard, meaning spinning to try and stop a weapon is not going to have as much momentum to it and may be useless against an opponent with a strong enough grip. additionally it does mean there's more damage potentially going into your arms when you do block.
Hopefully this information is useful to someone, but also thank you for listening to me ramble! I may do more eventually as i do love to do this kind of thing.

If afo and inko were in love, what would their relationship be like?
Tumblr media
Well with all this new backstory information I have quite a few ideas on how their relationship work. Warning, while I definitely write them as loving and stuff doesn't mean there aren't some red flags.
How their relationship would be like in love:
All for One is a petty person who desperate for love and validation using any means to get it while also willing to spoil his 'gift' if likes them. Inko is a loving and strong willed person who do anything for their loved ones.
Basically they work well. As All for One is startled that Inko is just actually nice and seems to just like him. It ain't at all like the insane worship of his followers and he LATCHES onto that. So he kind of orchestrates opportunities for them to keep meeting. But tries to act subtle despite trying to throw gifts at her.
Inko of course thinks it's kind of hilarious and sweet that he's trying so hard. So basically she agrees to date him and let me tell you AFO has NO IDEA how dating works. He just kind of there eating dinner with no idea what to do- Cue Inko just deciding to talk and slowly getting him to talk about stuff and talk about herself.
All for One is intrigued since he doesn't really get many chances to just 'talk' about stuff that isn't a transaction. He knows people but he isn't usually part of said people. And he ends up talking about his brother and how threw himself into his work still wishing him back.
Basically first date goes great and Inko learns a lot. Though AFO avoids the whole 'murdered' said brother accidentally or that he was being evil or is still evil.
Basic dating between them is AFO basically spoiling the ever loving crap out of Inko with material things. While Inko gets him talking about his emotional needs and desires as well as helping him learn more about her. AFO learns he likes learning about people when it not about what they can get but just because wants to talk.
AFO has very much murdered or wanted to murder potential threats to Inko in the background as well as anyone that dared to try and 'steal' her. Look man he's still AFO and if there anything you know, he ain't keen on sharing. Though he makes sure they aren't so close to Inko she worry or something, he ain't that stupid. He doesn't need her running away so if they are too close, he must endure... Inko pretty good at getting him to not worry over it tho.
AFO actually considered retiring super villainy when they become engaged. As unlike with followers and people that owe him she not afraid of him. Also she seems to just genuinely like his company despite him being 'off' as many say. Who would have thought having a healthy normal relationship and being in love can be so enjoyable? If only he read more romance novels/manga.
BTW he did start reading those in his attempt to woo so you get sudden random romantic gestures from him. He even learned to cook as learned girls like that and he wants to impress her. Inko gushes at having a husband that does so much for her. He feels like a god damn great provider so like a peacock showing off his tail feathers.
People swear it seems like he got more handsome while dating Inko. AFO didn't even realize it but he made himself look more handsome purposefully. Obtaining better grooming habits, maybe some quirks and also he just smiles more genuinely with her. He still ruthless as hell as a villain but now he working even harder to impress her not just look good for his cult.
One time AFO nearly revealed he had more then one quirk because of a rat. He screamed when saw one and was about to legit about to air canon it- He got lucky because Inko just captures it in a bucket. Assuming he was scared and now about to just bring the whole place down. AFO learned he needs to be more careful.
I got even more but we be here forever so ask for more if wish to hear more of me ranting about Inko X AFO~!

𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏.
“EREN TURNED INTO a what?!”
You blurted out in disbelief, the thought of it only processing now in your brain.
An ache was starting to form so deep in your stomach as you took in the bittersweet feeling after reading Chapter 139; the last chapter of the Attack on Titan series. Your lips trembled more at the continuous hurricane of emotions you felt towards the final chapter.
Burying your head into the pillow that was in between your hands, squishing it tightly just to muffle your voice from being heard by your family. You raised your head to wipe your tears with the sleeve of your shirt, "Get it together, Y/N. It's just a drawing, shit, don't cry."
Your eyes were already swollen from the tears that kept on spilling out non-stop, making it harder for you to continue reading the next manga panel because of your blurry vision.
"Don't cry, don't cry. You idiot, it's just a fucking drawing." You kept repeating the words to yourself even if it was hard to do as you were already having a hard time breathing from breaking down over the last chapter of the manga.
"Did Eren really just turn into a bird?" you pondered. “Or is it just some type of symbolism?"
Confusion had now masked your face as you were beginning to have a whole conversation with the air about your thoughts over the ending—which was probably absurd to others. You were left with a lot of questions unanswered by the author, that's why.
Because as much as you loved the series wholeheartedly, it felt like everything from the last chapter was rushed. But you were aware of having a tragic ending from the story due to the author hinting about it in one of his interviews you've read, but it was like he did a lot of characters dirty when he admitted that he couldn't express well what he wanted to show to the readers. And you felt so frustrated with every revelation that was unfolded to the viewers.
"This doesn't even make any sense — No, shit, don't cry."
You had witnessed so many side characters being brutally killed by titans or by devils disguised in the faces of humans from the last season and you felt devastated about their fate. And Eren was also willing to turn into a devil just to save the people he loved.
But after reading Chapter 139, it's as if all the decisions he made were useless. Everything he did to achieve freedom went to waste and you were puzzled about it and felt like there were a lot of plot holes that still needed to be filled. You were even more baffled when Armin thanked Eren for destroying a huge part of humanity during their talk in the paths. You felt like his reason behind activating the gruesome rumbling to defeat his enemies and kill innocent lives from hatred wasn't justifiable.
Just because he wanted to do it? That is so messed up. He deserves an Oscar award for that acting during the table scene though, you thought. The poor boy didn't even know if what he was doing was right. You didn't know if Eren kept a facade all this time or not, just so he could move forward until the end. Perhaps it is because he wanted his friends to live a peaceful life free from the horrors of war and suffering.
Eren Jaeger, the boy who had sought freedom all this time was just a slave to the idea of achieving it. That the very person who always kept on moving forward for freedom was the least free of them all.
          How ironic, you thought.
You had spent a lot of random days over-analyzing every small detail from each episode that was allegedly said to be a piece of information in foreshadowing that'll be put together for the most hyped ending of the series. You've even found yourself wasting a lot of time reading tons of well-thought-out theories and videos by other fans if you weren't busy studying. And now you didn't know what to feel about it.
You constantly fanned your face with your hand, while also hiccupping from being overwhelmed by these strong emotions that clouded you. Taking a slow deep breath, you brought your focus back towards your laptop that was sitting in your lap now that was containing the very reason why you were crying in the first place.
You felt like a clown since you told yourself that you were only supposed to have a small break from doing your piled homework for online classes—which didn't work out well as it turned into a longer one when you were scrolling through your timeline on Twitter and saw the hashtags that were trending which contained the spoilers about the much-awaited ending of Attack on Titan by the anime community.
Deciding to check it out as you couldn't contain your excitement—but here you were, an hour later, feeling empty inside after all that reading. What you have read just now was tormenting your heart in the worst possible way, as every sob that escaped your lips made the ache in your chest keep on tightening.
"This is still so sad, what the hell," you muttered, your voice croaking from all that crying. But all of a sudden, a small tender smile crept its way up to your face when a panel from the last chapter engraved itself in your head. It was the only thing that left you crying in awestruck at how beautiful and well-crafted it was.
          "At least, Levi's alive."
You knew anime wasn't deep to begin within the eyes of those who don't dare to watch it, but man, this one was affecting you after all that emotional rollercoaster ride the anime series had offered. You bit your lower lip as you grab your phone beside you to check on the time. The screen from your phone opened and the light from it illuminated, reflecting on your face.
          1:40 am, it showed.
A deep sigh escaped your lips. You were about to pull another all-nighter again just to finish your school activities for an online school. Days spent at home tend to blur and you see yourself doing the same old and messy routine. Sometimes you get a couple of hours of relief from the little things that kept you sane while staying inside your room all day, but there was always this constant pit of anxiety in your stomach and running through your veins.
And you felt like you just have no control over it anymore making you feel drained. You didn't even know if it was worth it to keep on going and work hard for a future you weren't even sure you'd have. You just couldn't find the energy to do anything anymore. You were just so lost and couldn't figure out what to do with your life. But you had to keep on moving forward.
It's for the grades. You can do this. Your mind started to drift back to the manga panels again as you reminisced about them, and a smile made its way to your face before you continued to study.
With the thought that one of your favorite series has now come to an end, you brought your right hand to your heart—doing the salute from Attack on Titan to show your gratitude towards the show and author.
          "Shinzou wo Sasageyo!"
You whisper-shouted the Japanese version, as your chest was now swelling with pride and nostalgia for a country from a story that doesn't even exist. But they were right. No matter what the ending of the journey might turn out, all good things must come to an end. And you knew Attack on Titan was going down in history.

There was that joke in the fandom about Horikoshi looking through fanfics to see what theories to make canon like the "Dabi being Touya" or "the UA traitor" (even tho most of those were just stuff hinted at in the canon before hand). Since we're doing the whole "sharing memories" bit, the one fanfic trope he can definitely throw in the manga right now is the "Spinner tells Shigaraki he used to have a tail that got cut off by bullies"
Is that a popular trope? Enough to be a thing Horikoshi would pick up on. I don't think it's anywhere near the same level as 'Dabi is the lost Todoroki son' and 'UA Traitor is _____'… but it would be interesting if Spinner Tail Trauma is made canon.
Though at this late stage, I don't know if I want it, to be honest! If it's a memory, it's angst fuel to develop characters other than Spinner - guy wouldn't even be there for it. It would a real iffy choice to show something deeply personal and traumatic that happened to Spinner, something so unjust, without Spinner there—and really only for the benefit of the contrived connection between Shigaraki and Deku.
I guess because Spinner is still unaccounted for, he can still show up so it doesn't have to be just a memory, but. Still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. HeroAca resolutions are less about the victims and what they're owed, and more about how cool and merciful the Heroes are for saving them. This would be that, but even more so, and infinitely worse.
Plus, it would make the heteromorph riot mini-arc even more of a mess. Not to say there's levels of suffering that can be compared, but in-universe and in story, Shoji is kinda framed as having been worst off - his parents weren't heteromorphic like him, he got bashed in the face with a rake and was heavily scarred for life after he saved a girl from drowning, then he even has to wear a mask to prevent people from thinking he's resentful for being the victim of a hate crime. All that, but he came out of it with a strong and golden moral core, ready to be a great and inspirational Hero who protects the status quo.
Shoji's positioned as being in the right: here was a kid who suffered terribly, but he still managed to overcome the odds and be a Good Person, who thought deeply about the Right Way to end discrimination and is putting it into action (which is being a model minority). So what's everyone else's excuse?
Meanwhile, Spinner's backstory is that he only gets sprayed with pesticides, succumbs to being a NEET hikikomori, and goes running off to join terrorists without a single original thought in his head. For the narrative to work, he needs to be the selfish, hypocritical loser who didn't try hard enough to overcome his hardships that were comparatively mild.
If Spinner was revealed to have a tail cut off by bullies, the bnha balance of heteromorphic good and evil would collapse. A young boy's classmates mutilates him as the apex of heteromorphobic bullying, and the victim was left to languish as a high school dropout shut-in? That's not something that can be fixed by waiting out generations (just wait for the adults to die! their mindset would go with them—oh, but the perpetrators are the new generation…) or having the victim change their behavior (there's just no excuse for chopping off a child's body part). That reveals something much darker in the fabric of society that Heroes' plucky 'work-harder! plus ultra!' optimism are unequiped to handle.
At the very least, it's something that "Stop holding a grudge" and "Sorry for not realizing earlier" (as the rando hero tells the PLF guy in Chapter 373) and "Shine bright until your torments feel ashamed" are utterly insufficient and unconvincing in resolving. Not quite as inspirational, you know?
I'm sorry anon! I know you were asking as a joke, offering a fun idea. And I do like it! I'm still not opposed to Spinner having that canon backstory if the writing around it was to suddenly radically change the story and expand it by 300 more chapters to fix everything. I still love the idea that Spinner had a tail. I just took it too seriously and overthought it. My apologies. Thanks for the ask.

What are some pet peeves you have for manga/mahwa?
I feel like I answered a question similar to this but I’m too lazy to find that right now :p
I don’t know if I call them pet-peeves because I still would try to read it to the end just to see what the author wanted to do…but there are certain things in manga and manhwa that kinda makes the story a little harder for me to get through.
I’m putting it below the read more because some topics might be uncomfortable for others to read like abuse. If whatever I listed is something you don’t mind or enjoy reading, kudos to you. I’m not judging because these are just my own personal thoughts and preferences.
Teacher/Student relationships. It’s just too unethical for me. It doesn’t matter if the characters are the same age or if they’re childhood friends, as someone who wants to be a teacher this idea just makes me want to scream “too unprofessional!” If you want to pursue a relationship after graduation, that’s fine I guess… (with consent and everyone is age appropriate). Still, I know that there are people that enjoy this trope and that’s fine. I just can’t bring myself to really enjoy it.
Red flags that continue to be red flags. Look, we all know the “he’s a red flag, but I’m colourblind” joke and honestly, my taste in 2D men have some shades of red in them too. Moreover, some red flags are subjective depending on the person so what I consider a red flag may not be the same for someone else. But, I’m kinda disappointed when something that is a red flag for me isn’t brought up or taken seriously. Or if it does come up, there’s no remorse or consequences over this behavior, especially if this appears in main characters. I’m really not asking for much, maybe make them regret their behavior, grow out of it as the story goes on, have some consequences…hell even just acknowledge it’s canonically not good so everyone in the story and readers know this is not appropriate behavior! I have really low standards for this one!
Abusive for the sake of “love”. Tragic backstories is such a common trope and it works well for fictional drama (remember, fictional. Be good people in real life, ok). What I can’t understand though is when characters say that they did all these bad things like verbal insults and physical attacks because they need to protect the ones they love. Like what? I’m genuinely asking for the logic in that?! With avoiding someone so they don’t get hurt by association, that also heavily damages a person but that’s still more believable to me than directly inflicting pain onto someone you love! I just…can’t logically wrap my head around it.
Harem characters that are just for the harems. This is more sad for me because of the lost potential. I don’t hate stories with harems because they can be funny and enjoyable. But, if the characters are introduced to purely just be harem fillers and nothing else, that’s disappointing. What I mean are those characters that are literally just a trope and all they do in the story is appear and fawn over the MC without a role or significance to the story. If I remove any interaction with this character and the MC and there is nothing worthwhile about this character, that’s disappointing. Again, I’m not asking for much. Like if you make a knight character then make them do knight things that has nothing to do with the MC or have them interact with other characters without involving the MC. Seriously, not asking for much!
Characters that criticises others for being “conventional”. Basically it’s the incels, pick me characters, “I’m not like the other girls/guys”, the Nice Guys™, etc. Characters that criticises other characters for their failures because the other characters apparently fit the conventional standard and acting superior because they don’t. Maybe it’s because I’ve met people like this in real life, maybe it’s because I grew up in an era where having these characters as MC in all forms of media was popular and it dampens my faith in humanity just a little bit, maybe it’s because I did the same thing when I was younger which makes me feel ashamed of my actions. Either way, I can’t help but sigh a little whenever I see these characters and they don’t change for the better. Again, if you like watching these characters for whatever reason, that’s great. It just makes it a little harder for me to read.

Finally read Soul Eater vol. 14 three entire months after initially buying it, and I gotta say, it was fine.
I’m enjoying the series for sure, Crona’s story is captivating as always and I’m interested to see where it goes, but man, the pacing seems to get worse and worse as the chapters go on. Like I’ve talked before about how the series skyrocketed way harder in scope size than it probably should’ve, but Jesus.
The series is so cool in concept, basically all the characters are so sick, I love so many of the ideas and plotlines, and the artstyle is one of the best I’ve seen in manga ever (or really in general ever), but I find it just fumbles the execution not enough to ruin it, but just enough to frustrate you.
Outside of the scale/scope thing I talked about before, there are just so many ideas that start out cool as fuck but then eat shit on the landing. Like Soul’s corruption to the imp has been building up more and more since even before the kishin was released, with him using more and more of its powers hinting towards some huge unraveling where everything comes loose and he becomes a big chaotic threat with a big arc about rescuing him. In the end that kinda happened, and his chaos form was pretty cool, except he got over it in like a chapter and everything’s cool now (though I will say his conversation with the imp and whole character struggle is cool)
Honestly now that I mention it, Soul’s a weird character for me, where I think his internal struggle and arc are interesting and I enjoy them, but I just have no thoughts about him as a character outside of that. I just can’t really think of anything about how he acts outside of his own head that really endears me to him, I find him just kinda bland. The majority of his time acting normally around others really doesn’t display much personality I find, which is unfortunate considering how cool his internal arc and piano thing are.
Speaking of characters, god there are a lot of them aren’t there? From what I can tell Atsushi Ohkubo kinda runs into a rare writer issue, being “I have more ideas than I know what to do with”. He just seems to have so many sick character ideas in his head that he can’t help but add to the series, but as he keeps adding them he finds he can’t handle the increasing responsibility of actually using them all well in the story.
Like think of how many characters are at least active by volume 14:
We of course have the main 7 (Maka, Soul, Black☆Star, Tsubaki, Kid, Liz, Patty)
Then another 7 in the rest of the Spartoi (Kiriko, Fire, Thunder, Ox, Harvar, Kim, Jackie),
Then we can add on the 5 (important) DWMA staff members (Death, Spirit, Stein, Sid, Mira)
Then the 6 other Death Scythes (Marie, Azusa, Justin, Tezca, Dengu, Djinn)
And the 5 members of Medusa’s (former) gang (Crona, Ragnarok, Free, Eruka, Mizune family)
And the 4 surviving members of Noah’s gang after that fell apart like wet toilet paper (Noah, Gopher, Index, the Clown)
And the 3 elder gods we know besides Death (Eibon, Asura, that dude in Eibon’s book)
And 7 assorted characters who are (presumably) somewhat important but don’t fit into any other categories (Blair, Imp, Excalibur, Maba, Angela, Akane☆Hoshi, Clay Sizemore, probably more I forgot)
That’s 44 characters in total, and that’s only including the ones who are alive and shown to be at least somewhat involved in the current conflict and/or important in the world as a whole, which seems to me as very clearly being a lot to keep track of in a series as quickly paced as this one
Anyways, this is a lot of words to say Soul Eater’s very good so far, but I really wish it just got to reach the full potential of its ideas more than it ended up being able to

What inspires your art? Like, how did you come up with your art style, how happy you are with it and if there are any other artists that inspire you?
Asking a few people as a way to understand and grow as an artist at a crossroads. Have a good day.
That's a big question! lol
Inspiration:
I think it's fair to say that I'm inspired by a wide variety of things, and that's what tends to combine to influence art—most of my art comes from a place of wanting to communicate what I'm thinking, just like my writing does. Some things are easier to communicate visually, and some linguistically. I took a variety of classes in college as part of my degree, including some unrelated to it, such as cinematography, lots of art history, etc. and I think having an understanding of those things can help to cultivate an understanding of what goes into... everything, really. Composition, color, form factor, material, history. I find it all interesting and I like to think about those things when I write and draw because I like to have concrete ideas of place and object.
Influences range from manga to books to superhero comics (I mean, obviously), cartoons, music, movies, and whatever else, but also of course other little things from day to day life whether that's personal experiences, specific imagery (of a sunset or something else), foods, outfits I see on the bus, and so on. It's very much a matter of absorbing the world around oneself and translating that into images (or words).
There are definitely a lot of artists that inspire me! Not necessarily style influence but some of my current favorite artists include (but are not limited to) Petra Nordlund, zombieisok, Nick Robles, Esad Ribić, Tradd Moore, Cathy Kwan, Tess Stone, and a whole bunch of other people (too many to list them all!)
Like, Ryōko Kui has great art! Dungeon Meshi is super pretty. It's great to read comics and see great art—I love the way Non-Stop Spider-Man (Chris Bachalo) looks, I really like David Lafuente's work in Radiant Red, Scott Hepburn does some really cool work, I really enjoy the way Eduardo Ferigato draws the characters in Radiant Black (esp Marshall), etc. etc. etc. there are a ton of artists whose work I love!
And! I think this is important—my friends! Spending time talking to my friends has always been a source of inspiration for things to write or draw, since I was in middle school at least. It's fun to bounce ideas off of each other and I enjoy it a lot even when I don't draw or write something related to whatever convo (which, lbr, is most of the time lol)
Art style:
Off the top of my head, there are some specific things I studied on purpose in middle or high school while drawing—Natsuki Takaya's Fruits Basket and CLAMP's works in general but especially Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE and xxxHolic were very influential on my developing art style. What I did then was not try to make my art look Like CLAMP or Like Takaya at all times, but rather mostly looking at things like how they would draw ears or whatever else, though I also did copies/studies of specific panels (freehand, not traced) where the goal was to make it look like the source to understand shapes etc.
I think that CLAMP's shōnen manga style influence is probably still wildly obvious in my art—I draw people very long-limbed and I know it! (lmao)
I was also definitely influenced/inspired by Nanae Chrono's Vassalord, plus some anime like Tiger & Bunny, which I adored in high school.
Tess Stone's work overall but esp Hanna is Not a Boy's Name has also always inspired me a lot, though I'm not sure to what extent his art has influenced mine—but I think it would be a lie to say it hasn't lol. His work with shape language, color, typography, etc. is next level 👌
As far as more recent influences, it's harder to say. I look at a lot of art, read a lot of comics, and so on, so I pick up small things through osmosis from all of the things around me, inevitably, as well as looking at reference photos. So art style is of course the specific way I process the world and art and so on—the corners of mouths, the shapes of shoes—and re-combine it on paper, and it varies from the very simple 10 minute chibi doodles to the more rare and intensive full illustrations that take 10 hours/multiple days.
As far as my own art quality/satisfaction, I'd say at this point I tend to be mostly neutral on it as a whole, with of course specific pieces I like a lot or some that didn't turn out quite right. I know I have strengths and weaknesses and I only took one or two drawing classes growing up, a couple of painting classes (a few how to draw books)... nothing more than rudimentary basics for the most part.
I have a very hard time grokking some things, esp as it pertains to spatial awareness and dimensionality (my irl coordination and proprioception isn't great, which I'm sure is related). Complicated perspective is hard, sure, but just making objects feel like objects is also difficult so I often have to spend a long time working that kind of thing out when I include stuff like turnarounds or alternate angles. My art has a strong element of harsh-edged two-dimensionality, imo, whether shaded or not, and I know that—that's not necessarily a bad thing, but there are times when it's not what I need lol
But I like the way I draw people, anyway, even if stiffness is a problem, and I enjoy drawing shoes and clothes and faces and so on, and I know my anatomy has improved a lot in the past 5 years or so which is always fun to see. Looking back on something and being like, "man that's rough," is like—a concrete sign of improvement, that's for sure. looking with new eyes.
So I am almost entirely self taught, and I tend to draw—as mentioned earlier—to communicate something specific, so while I drew more constantly as a child, as an adult I don't spend a lot of time just doodling (esp now that I'm not in school anymore lol) or anything like that... I look at references a lot more though lol
I should probably do some studies like figure drawing or take some more advanced classes, and I would like to do so at some point in the future, but for now I'm fine just doing whatever. I have a lot of hobbies (and ADHD) so sometimes it's like... help 😂
anyway!
that was long lol but hopefully helpful.

Scrunkore Media "Thread" 2023: Part 2
Tumblr media
welcome back to the scrunko core
14) Ib (Switch, 2023)
One of the real classics of RPG Maker horror games, upgraded for the modern age in just a few little ways that manage to keep the experience feeling as it should. Ib has a perfectly bizarre and creepy atmosphere, making really good use out of its excellent concept of being trapped in a living art gallery, with decent enough puzzles to keep you engaged throughout. I'm a big fan of its vibes and its exploration of loneliness and art in general, and it has a really strong trio of characters and various different endings that I found myself liking a lot. Now's as good a time as any to check this game out. [4.5★]
15) Everything Everywhere All At Once (Movie, 2022)
Kind of a critical darling as well as an audience favourite around when it came out, and yeah, I agree with everyone else - this movie is fantastic. Really good and creative direction in an absolutely wild ride through parallel universes, family and generational trauma that I'm told can hit really hard for the Chinese-American demographic and others like it but can be enjoyed by just about anyone. It uses its ideas pretty much perfectly, and it has a whole multiverse of them to play with; I was fully engaged throughout the whole experience. It deserved those awards. [5★]
16) Fire Punch (Manga, 2016-2018)
Tatsuki Fujimoto's earlier manga series, wrapping up just before his biggest claim to fame began, really can feel like Chainsaw Man's fucked up older brother - and it kind of is, really. It does touch on some of the same things, but the world is even harsher and the suffering even greater, and the overall mood can seem a lot more nihilistic, but there is hope in there still. It's also a harder read than Chainsaw Man, but it stands alone as a rough tale of struggling through an apocalyptic world, and it gets bonus points from me for its heartbreaking trans character I don't want to spoil. I'm not sure how much I'd recommend it, with the particular kinds of misery involved feeling gratuitous at times, but I am glad I read it. [4★]
17) Super Lesbian Animal RPG (PC, 2022)
The title kind of says it all here, this is a superb RPG about anthro animal girls in lesbian relationships, and it does an excellent job at delivering exactly that with a lot more besides. The whole cast is likeable, even the asshole characters, and the story is a mix of really good fun and powerful emotional beats, naturally being queer as hell to boot. I really appreciate the gameplay too, it's by default a fairly easy game until pretty late, but it's quite well-balanced and goes out of its way to ensure you'll never even think about grinding (levels cap at 30, even), plus a lot of the fights are just really fun. Excellent visuals and incredible soundtrack too, just a perfectly well-rounded super lesbian animal RPG that I have no real complaints with at all. [5★]
18) Tembo the Badass Elephant (PC, 2015)
A little controversial back when it released for daring to be a Game Freak game not on either of the Nintendo consoles in circulation at the time, this game is... well, it's fine. Just a decent enough 2D action platformer that feels like if you modded Wario into a Sonic game with how you can speed through levels smashing up everything in your way, but the level design and even the odd boss fight reminds me of some of the worst parts of Sonic games at times, so I'm not super fond of it. It does have plenty of charm though, with a fun cartoony artstyle and some 3D setpieces that do make one wonder why it wasn't on 3DS. Controlling a badass action hero elephant saving as many people as possible is a neat idea, too. [3★]
19) Picross 3D (DS, 2009)
There have been many different takes on Picross over the years, under many different names as well, but almost nobody has done it quite like HAL did with Picross 3D. It feels like a whole different breed of puzzle, and it is indeed nothing like regular 2D Picross - the transformation into cube-based puzzles makes things far more advanced, often more difficult, and a lot more rewarding. There's not much more to this game other than the massive amount of puzzles to solve and the option to create your own, but it doesn't really need anything else. Some puzzles are extremely hard, but that's alright, and the game is the perfect fit for the DS hardware. [4★]
20) Picross 3D Round 2 (3DS, 2015)
I technically played this a bit later, but I think it makes sense to put this next to the first game. HAL managed to do it again, innovating further on the 3D Picross concept with different shapes that you can turn blocks into - a simple change, but one that goes surprisingly far towards making the game more enjoyable. It's a lot comfier with its presentation too, and there's even some surprisingly great music in there. Not much more to it than that, but it's still filled to the brim with a huge amount of puzzles, including bonus special Amiibo unlocks (there is a homebrew program to bypass this), and that's all I can ask of it once again. I'd hope for a third round, but I don't know that I'd like it as much without stylus controls... [4.5★]
21) The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog (PC, 2023)
Sonic coming out of nowhere on April Fool's with a shockingly high-effort "joke" project was unexpected, but that blue hedgehog does have a way of blindsiding you. The game is a small but lovingly made point-and-click revolving around a murder mystery party with a few fun twists happening towards the end, and it's pretty funny for the most part, so that's the "joke" part down. On top of that, it has a really solid grasp of the characters and how to write them, seemingly on par with the IDW comics, which is more than we've seen from most of the games until fairly recently. It's something of a breath of fresh air, with plenty of fanservice, and my only real complaint is the "THINK!" segments being kind of... not very good. But as a whole, this game is really nice, and I hope they do more creative projects like this in the future. They even got the "self-insert" protagonist right, because they're such a weird and silly one. They should murder Sonic more often! [4★]
22-23) Escaped Chasm/Dweller's Empty Path (PC, 2019/2020)
I'd like to group these together, because they're kind of part of the same interesting project from Temmie Chang (yes, the Undertale Temmie). Both very short RPG Maker games with zero combat and a focus on exploring all the dialogue and plot you can get out of them. Both games have their dark elements, but Escaped Chasm definitely has the most - it's got some upsetting bits, and the ending is rather bittersweet, but I did enjoy the short tale of the lonely girl. It kind of serves as a prequel to Dweller's Empty Path, though you won't know it until you see a certain part. Speaking of which, that game is pretty nice, mostly just being a walking simulator that you can end at any time by going to bed, but there is quite a bit of dialogue for you to see that fleshes out the world and characters, with hints at what might be to come in the future. Both games adopt a Game Boy style pixel art look with minimal colour palettes and I kind of like that about them, and the developer managed to rope in Toby Fox and Camellia for musical contributions, which is awesome. Overall, the games feel like they're setting up something rather interesting, also being rather interesting in themselves, and I hope Temmie is able to do more with this in the future. [3.5★]
24) OFF (PC, 2008)
Another certified RPG Maker classic that has somehow never been re-released in any form, unless you count the official English translation from 2011, and it's certainly an odd one. The vibes are deeply unsettling throughout, the morality of the protagonist is dubious at best, and it has all kinds of strange setpieces showcasing the utterly bizarre lore of its equally bizarre world. It's kind of hard to tell what it's even really about, but it contains themes relating to religion, illness, capitalism and more besides. There are even multiple endings, including a random joke one serving as a "reward" for beating a strange and lengthy secret boss, and honestly I think the game is more of a weird French art piece than anything else. The puzzles and battle system do kind of suck in several areas, so it's all about the feeling of the game in the end, and it certainly made me feel... something. I don't think anyone completely understands this game, but I do like what it tries to do, and I respect it. [3.5★]

I read an lgbtq+ manga and it made me think some things.
Hoping it's not out of place or too much, since Ciro and Kaisei's story is generally light-hearted (even if before they get together, Kaisei makes it a bit sad). Like, it's not a super serious story, but I was thinking of a scene that is more serious to explore some of the themes that manga brought up.
TW assault and violence.
--
It starts out with them at a bar, just drinking and having a nice date together. The bar probably isn't far from their apartment, a good half hour walk in nice weather. As the night goes on, Kaisei starts wanting to go home - he's feeling a little promiscuous, and Ciro isn't about to decline. So they gather themselves a bit before heading home.
On the walk home though, Kaisei starts having to use the bathroom, as it happens when one drinks alcohol and water like they're dying of dehydration. Fortunately, there's a few convenience stores on their walk home and Kaisei slips inside one of them. Before he does, he asks Ciro to come in the store with him, to which he replies something like, "You're a grown man Kaisei, you don't need me to hang around while you go piss."
It wasn't that he needed Ciro to go to the bathroom with him, he just had this weird feeling...but he chalks it up to the alcohol and goes while Ciro waits outside.
He's standing by the window on his phone, there are barely any people out this time of night. Even for a Saturday evening, most people are in bars or at home by now He closes his eyes and leans back - he's tired, but he can't wait to get home himself and spend some alone time with Kaisei.
A hand grabs his shoulder, and Ciro's eyes pop open, wondering why Kaisei is gripping him so hard - only to have an arm shoot around his throat and face, another holding him tight around the waist. He tries to yell, but the thick fabric around the person's arm muffles his sounds.
The stranger takes Ciro into a nearby alleyway, the man behind him still holding tight and backing up against a wall next. Another shorter man, dressed similarly with a dark hoodie and mask, appears from behind them and stares into Ciro's eyes. He has no idea what's going on, who these men are, or what they're going to do.
When the man in front of him pulls out a small knife and starts talking about what a disgusting thing he is along with other crude remarks, it's suddenly clear to Ciro what's happening, and his heart drops into his stomach. His breathing gets harder and he feels like a caged animal.
He's fucking terrified.
--
Kaisei comes out of the store and is confused by the lack of Ciro standing around where he left him. He thinks maybe he went in the store and he just missed him, when he hears a distinctly Ciro-sounding yell coming from a nearby alley. A surge of adrenaline rushes through him, and before he can think, he's already at the entrance to the alley and seeing the worst possible sight in front of him.
Ciro is being held against a man, with another in front of him - his sleeve pushed up, and a knife carving a cut into the exposed skin as cries and struggles to get away.
His only thought that pushes him to move is, "Get away from him".
In a moment, Kaisei slams into the man holding the knife, clawing at his neck and shoulder while reaching for the weapon. It clatters to the ground, and the man is gripping his now bleeding neck in pain. The man holding onto Ciro throws him aside and rushes for the knife, but he's too late. Kaisei grabbed it as the shorter man fell to the ground, and was now holding it up towards the two hooded and masked figures.
"Get the fuck out of here, NOW," he growled.
They scrambled to their feet, the taller man shouting expletives but not sticking around as he held up the shorter man on his shoulder and carried him away from the alley.
Kaisei stood, knife still in his hand and panting, watching until the men disappeared around the corner. A whimper from his left snapped him out the trance, the red draining from his vision as he dropped to the ground next to Ciro. He saw the cut on his arm was bleeding, and he had scrapped his temple when he was thrown to the ground, but other than that he could see no other injuries.
He slumped into Kaisei's arms, still breathing heavily and crying but nodding when asked if he could stand. Kaisei insisted that they go to a hospital, but Ciro simply asked to go home - they could take care of this themselves.
"What if there was something on that blade?"
"The freak cut his own thumb with the knife to scare me, I don't think he'd have done that if there was something on it."
"What the fuck was that..."
--
They get home and Kaisei immediately brings Ciro into the bathroom to look for antiseptic and bandages. The blonde sat on the closed toilet, exhausted and still a little shaky. He took care of the scrape on his temple, while Kaisei focused on his arm. Ciro winced as the liquid disinfected the cut. It wasn't deep, but it ran from his wrist almost to his elbow. Once the burning sensation started to subside, he looked down at the man between his legs.
Kaisei's face was dark, the white light from the bathroom mirror casting a harsh shadow over his face. His eyebrows deeply furrowed and eyes barely held back tears. After wrapping Ciro's arm in gauze, he sat still for a moment before wrapping his arms slowly around Ciro's waist and burying his head into his stomach. Ciro used his left hand to stroke his hair, the other resting along Kaisei's shoulder, and he bent down to kiss the top of his head. All at once, the sob that Kaisei had been holding back let go.
"I'm so sorry, Ciro."
"It's not your fault."
Silence aside from Kaisei's quiet whimpers.
"I think I've gained a new fear..."
"Yeah? Join the club."
They both chuckle weakly. Kaisei pulls away just enough to look up at his boyfriend, and holds Ciro's hand against his cheek.
"I can't ever lose you, Ciro, or I'll lose my mind too."
--
A sidenote, the two men were probably other bar goers who didn't quite intend on being assholes, but they were probably drunk, already bigoted? and decided to fuck around (hence why the guy with the knife was acting weirder than expected).
Absolutely no excuse for what they did, just explaining why they did it. It wasn't a planned contempt kind of thing, it just sort of happened.
I could never kill either of them, but I wanted to know more about their rarer emotions and what might trigger them. In this case, what do blind rage Kaisei and scared for his life Ciro look like?
The answer is I feel a pain thinking about it but it is interesting to explore something like this, and it gives me a little insight as to what the social acceptance of their world is like. For the most part it's better than ours (they can legally get married), but there are still dangerous people with twisted ideals.

4, 9 and 10 for the meta selfship game!! For whoever you’re thinking about!! :D
Hope you’re doing well!! <33
hiii ezra! ty i'm doing great ^^ hoping all is well for you too
i'll answer about bill pokemon for these~
4. who was your first favorite character when you initially got into your f/o’s source content? was it your f/o from the very beginning?
OK SO i first started playing pokemon when i was like... 9? i had gotten a copy of pkmn platinum bc a family friend found a ds cartridge with a torn off label on the sidewalk randomly. and my first fave was technically barry! idk what it was but i was like hehe barry time :3 (although roark was a close second, which is ironic given he's my buddy now LOL) i technically knew bill in college when i finally had a chance to play more than just platinum (which i lost that cartridge ages ago. F) but i didn't know him until i watched my bf play let's go pikachu. whatever fucking juice they put in that cutscene was NUTS because both i and my boyfriend saw him and were like WHY IS HE HOT??? that was in like. feb 2022? bill's actually the f/o that convinced me to make a selfship sideblog so like wahoo! it's. really funny that bill sparked me really entering the selfship community despite me having selfshipped since i was like 6 in terms of the kanto games though... yeah he was probably my first kanto-appearing crush LOL (distinguishing that bc he's not kantonian he's from johto <3)
9. if your f/o has been represented in more than one way (i.e. in a book AND a movie, in a movie and then recasted for a reboot later, etc.), which version of them is your favorite?
ok so bill appears in like... the kanto games (rgb, frlg, lgpe), the johto games (gsc, hgss), the anime (like once in indigo league), and in the manga (pokespe + a few others) the one that made me fall in love with him was the lgpe version, BUT i will say i love that crystal and frlg gave us more lore ON bill. crystal gave us lore on his dad that he doesn't like (for being a deadbeat iirc) and frlg has the whole fact checker where i learn he is a fellow lactose intolerant sdfhskj he doesn't really do much in any of his media except pokespe to my knowledge, and from what bits and bobs i know i think he's pretty neat (i love the southern accent that is also present in the games a bit but goes HARDER in the manga) and also i love the idea of him actually having like. more plot appearance than just one time (also what he and daisy kind of have going on seems a little cute. i won't even lie to myself) fun fact did you know in one manga his wife literally turned into mew. more notably that he had a wife in the first place (and no it wasn't me. i know i'm shocked as well)
10. if you could change one thing about your f/o’s source content, would you? what would you change?
ok. i would probably make him more involved maybe i'm just thinking wishfully bc of the manga knowledge i have but in the johto games (or kanto) i wish he had more to do with trying to stop the resurrection of team rocket given he was the one in pokespe who pushed for stricter gym leader guidelines once several gym leaders were outed as part of team rocket. like idk he feels like he should have more relevance in the games and he just....DOESN'T. IDK please just give him more than two seconds of screen time nintendo i BEG of you

IDK how far along the Anime is so potential manga spoilers ahead
This is all mostly correct but I'd argue Ishigami is more of a deconstruction of bland harem protags. He's a nerdy, introverted otaku that most people ignore, who suddenly ends up getting a lot of female attention. However, Ishigami works in subverting the wish-fufilly self-insert harem stereotype by having to actually grow as a person into the type of guy women actually want to be with.
In the early chapters, he is very much a kind of creepy loser. A well meaning and misunderstood creepy loser, but a creep nontheless. You can honestly see WHY people accept the rumors about him as true. But his problems are fixed not by just meeting some hot girls that love him no matter what, no, instead he works to actively better himself and try to form connections with other people, that's the point of the Cheer Squad arc.
Had he actually been the protag of one of these generic Harem animes, he wouldn't have this type of development or self-awareness, because then the audience would find it harder to project onto him. But the develpment can occur, because Ishigami isn't the protag of the story, he's just a side character. By the time he's introduced, the audience is already able to project on Shirogane and Kaguya, so Ishigami doesn't have to be a relatable blank slate like the characters he deconstructs. He can feel like a real person with flaws he needs to work through, and it's only after working through those flaws is he able to become the type of guy that women would actually WANT to be with.
Hell, the deconstruction goes further. Playing with the whole "Sexually-oblivious protag that never actually bones the women who want him", by giving him actual reason to turn down Tsubame's offer of Sex. And speaking of Tsubame, even though she is a love interest for him, someone he's been chasing after for so long, SHE TURNS HIM DOWN during his confession to her. Explicitly saying that she won't date him, once again doing something that would have been unheard of for a regular harem anime where it needs to sell the idea to lonely people that these women want to be with a protag like them no matter what. (Not saying all harem anime is like this, but broad strokes paint the fence).
BUT IT CAN GO EVEN DEEPER. Part of the deconstruction or subversion can be found in how... well, some parts just flat out aren't subverted. Ishigami DOES have admirers in people like Iino and Osaragi, as well as chemistry with characters like Maki. Hell, his relationship with Kaguya could also be part of deconstructing the fantasy. The wealthy tsundere archetype is in love with another man who seems to not like her back, being the first person we see to try and reach out to the lonely perv with a heart of gold. In any standard harem with Ishigami as the protag, this would be the grounds for Kaguya to start crushing on him and such.
There's probably more that I haven't touched upon, but I think that this is enough to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. I think the idea of him being a deconstruction of characters like Edgeworth and Sasuke is that from the start he's portrayed less like a mysterious emo boy with wisdom and more just like... a really depressed awkward nerd who always messes things up.
If we’re treating “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” as a deconstruction of the romcom manga genre:
1) Kaguya is a deconstruction of the “ice queen tsundere” character. She has all the typical traits but because she’s paired up with another tsundere, there’s no one there to point out her problematic behavior. She has to learn how to become a better person on her own, which means confronting her insecurities and how she treats the people around her. Hence the “Ice Kaguya” arc, where Kaguya comes to the realization that being icy all the time is hurting herself and others.
2) Miyuki is a deconstruction of the “handsome prince tsundere” character. He’s good-looking, top of his class, and looks down on everyone around him. Typically, this character would be paired up with a girl on the low-end of popularity (someone like Miko Iino, for example). But because he’s paired up with rich girl Kaguya, it’s Miyuki who feels the pressure of having to measure up to his partner.
3) Miko is a deconstruction of the traditional shoujo manga heroine. When you think about it, Miko has all the traits of a protagonist; she’s the most “normal” of the group, she’s a hopeless romantic with an idealized view of love, she’s neglected at home, she falls for the brooding bad boy, and she’s naive and clumsy. Aside from not being the protagonist, Miko also differs from the tropes since she’s intentionally written to be a difficult character. Usually, shoujo manga heroines are easy to like and optimistic about life.
4) Ishigami is a deconstruction of the “brooding, bad boy” character. This is the character who you think would be loved by everyone since he’s so “mysterious”, “handsome”, and says something profound every now and then. Think characters along the lines of Sasuke Uchiha, Miles Edgeworth, or Shouto Todoroki. Instead, Ishigami is written as the least-liked student in the school and is regularly bullied, even by his friends. There was even a chapter where Ishigami gave Kaguya actually good advice on the meaning of true love and Kashiwagi called him a creep for that.

Things the MC would bring back to their demon bois from the mortal realm:
Lucifer:
MC goes to second hand stores and vintage shops always on the look out for vinyl records that they think Lucifer would like.
Most of the time they try and bring back stuff he'd actually like, such as Tchaikovsky or Vivaldi
Once, they brought back Stravinsky's Firebird Suite and Lucifer wouldn't stop kissing them (once they were in the privacy of his room of course)
Sometimes the MC will bring back more modern music just because it makes them think of him
"I dunno, I just listen to Hozier and think of you"
Lucifer doesn't like all the modern music they bring back but he appreciates the sentiment just the same
Then there's the gag gifts...
Any kind of music that has a reference to the devil or Satan or hell is fair game
These gifts usually elicit an eye roll from the eldest brother but he keeps them all the same
This is why Lucifer owns a copy of "The Devil Went Down To Georgia"
So when MC brings back a copy of Giuseppe Tartini's Violin Sonata in G minor, they're a little surprised at Lucifer's delighted reaction
"You know, I was the one who visited Tartini in his dreams."
MC's mind = blown.
"Also, this copy is cursed. I know you know how much I enjoy cursed vinyls."
"I- wait... What?!"
MC is very upset that they had a cursed vinyl in their possession this whole time
Mammon:
This boy loves stuff, and he loves MC, so he's gonna love any gift really
But MC knows he loves treasure and jewels and as much as they'd love to just bring him back nice watches and jewelery...
MONEY IS A THING, AND MC IS NOT MADE OF IT.
So MC settles for semi-precious stones instead
They always find fun and beautiful stones at museums and those metaphysical stores and they always pick out one that reminds them of Mammon
They're really nervous when they give him his first gift
"Hey, I got this for you and I know it's not fancy or expensive but I saw it and thought of you and I just wanted you to have it."
Mammon will love them until they die. He is really just so touched that MC thought of him. He'll try and play it cool though
He totally fails. MC won't tell him that though
MC brings him Lapis Lazuli and tells him it reminded them of his eyes and Mammon is now a puddle of lovesick goo on the floor
Mammon puts more shelves in his room dedicated to all the gifts MC gives him
One time MC brings him back some fool's gold in a teeny little jar on a chain, so that he can wear it
"Fool's gold? Why cuz I'm a fool?" Mammon asks with a roll of his eyes.
"What? No, cuz I'm a fool for you."
Mammon only love MC until they die? WRONG.
He's gonna love them forever now
He was gonna do that anyways
Leviathan:
C'mon, this boy is easy. Anime/manga stuff and TSL. Need I say more?
At first he'll be suspicious of MC wanting to give him gifts, but once they've convinced him that they're doing it out of the kindness of their heart he's really touched
The first thing the MC brings him is a pen with a little Ruri-Chan on the end of it
"I know it's not much, but I just happened to see it and I knew you'd like it"
Like it??????
HE LOVES IT! HE'S OVER THE GODDAMM MOON.
He's never seen anything like this in the Devildom and he doesn't think about the small stuff usually because he's too busy trying to get the big collectors edition items. So he actually really loves this.
MC continues to bring him cute small stuff like buttons and keychains and Levi loves them all.
His favorite item(s) that MC brought him is a pair of Lord of Shadows and Henry BFF enamel pins
He definitely tackle hugged MC when he got them
He gives the Lord of Shadows pin back to MC so they can each have one and show off their BFF status with them
Satan:
MC loves going to second-hand bookstores to shop for Satan.
Satan also appreciates new books, but there's something special about how his face lights up when he finds something old or rare. Anything with a little bit of history to it.
Of course, finding rare books for not a lot of money is a rare event in itself
So a safe bet is to bring Satan non-fiction, the boy loves to learn
But he really loves it when MC puts thought into finding fiction books that he would like
"I just really feel like you'd like Dean Koontz so I brought you one of my favorites by him."
Satan loves those gifts the most because he can talk to MC about the books afterwards
Satan's absolute favourite gift is a leather bound copy of Arabian Nights though
"I was thinking we could read this one together"
"Like you read it to me and pretend to be Scheherazade?" Satan suggests.
MC is flustered at the connotation of the suggestion but agrees anyways
The time they spend together reading that story will forever be one of Satan's favorite memories
Asmodeus:
He's a little harder to shop for than the MC had originally imagined
They tried bringing him make-up and skin care, which Asmo always graciously accepted, but he never seemed super excited about the gifts
But what else is to be expected from the guy who already uses only the best products?
MC suddenly gets an idea when they send Asmo a selfie of them at the park
- OMG! You're so cute! And the background is pretty too!-
MC starts dressing up and going to nice and beautiful places just with the intention of taking pictures
Botanical Gardens, museums, downtown skylines, anything that would make for a good picture
MC goes full on aesthetic art hoe just for Asmo
Only the best pictures get sent to Asmo
Asmo is LIVING for the looks their MC is serving up
- You are absolutely STUNNING! I'm in awe at these AMAZING pictures-
MC makes a scrapbook of the best pictures to give to Asmo the next time they see him
Asmo loves it and keeps it on display in his room always
Also, Asmo definitely makes MC their personal photographer after seeing the wonderful shots they took
Beelzebub:
Obviously, the boy loves food. He's always down to try new snacks from the mortal realm.
But MC wonders if there's something better that they could bring him
One day MC is at GNC for supplements for themself when they notice the workout supplements and get an idea
They grab some fun flavored protein powder and some BCAAs and a really nice shaker bottle just for Beel
Beel is actually really excited to get these gifts!
The Devildom doesn't have fun flavors of protein powder and the shaker bottle is such a great idea!
MC always brings new flavors of protein back for Beel, doing their best to find the weirdest flavors for him to try
Beel's favorite is definitely Birthday Cake.
MC starts bringing him new stuff to try too, protein bars, recovery supplements, collagen, and superfoods shakes
Beel tries everything and tells MC what their favorites are
"I love the BCAAs, I just wish the Devildom had them..." *sad Beel noises*
MC may or may not talk to Diavolo about researching BCAAs and getting them produced and sold in the Devildom
The supplements MC brings actually help Beel with his workouts and to control his hunger (a little)
Beel actually gets hotter??? Who knew that was possible???
MC definitely takes advantage of Beel's new 8-pack 😏😏😏
Belphegor:
What do you get the boy who only wants to sleep?
MC has gotten him stuffed animals and blankets and even a couple of nice pillows, but nothing seems to excite him
... but maybe that's just his personality??
It's not until MC accidentally leaves a sweater in the Devildom, that they figure it out
- You left your sweater down here- Belphie texts MC.
- Oh no, I'll just get when I come to visit y'all again-
- That's fine. I like having something that smells like you-
And the light bulb went off in MC's head.
Every time MC goes to visit they leave a shirt or sweater behind for Belphie, so that he can have something that smells like them.
Belphie loves how MC smells, its like a sweet dream all the time. It helps him sleep better when they're gone.
Belphie starts to complain when MC is gone longer than the item they left smells like them
(Which is every time)
So MC will start leaving Belphie more than one item, packing them in airtight bags so he can use them one after another until they return
Belphie can and will fight anyone who tries to take MC's clothing
"Mammon, you have two seconds to put that sweater back or I will kill you."
And Lucifer probably won't stop him
Diavolo:
He's honestly the easiest to please.
He's so fascinated with any thing that humans do that he'll enjoy any gift from the human world.
MC's first gift to him is a rubber duck.
"The duck is wearing a crown so it made me think of you and I just thought it was cute."
"I love it! What's its purpose?"
"Uh... to float around in the bathtub with you and look cute?"
"Isn't that what you're for?"
Diavolo loves the rubber duck so much it gets his own silk pillow to rest on when it's not taking a bath with Diavolo.
MC brings him cute pens, and keychains sometimes bottles of wine if the bottle is cute.
"The bottle is shaped like a cat! Isn't that delightful?!"
MC's proudest moment was when they found a full and intact tea set at the thrift store
Diavolo immediately fell in love with it.
He insists on only using that set when having tea with MC
But his favorite gift will always be the rubber duck.
Barbatos:
He'll insist that he doesn't need any gifts but that won't stop the MC.
MC is with him in the kitchen in the Demon Lord's Palace when they get an idea.
KITCHEN TOYS.
Barbatos works so hard, he deserves some things to make his life easier and liven up the bland kitchen
MC's first gift is a vegetable spiralizer.
"You use it to turn zucchini and squash and the like into noodles so that you can do fun stuff with vegetables!"
Barbatos accepts it graciously, but he'll probably never use it.
MC brings him spices from the mortal realm and Barbatos actually really loves those.
When MC brings him a food processor, he offers to cook for them right then and there
Despite all the weird gadgets MC ends up bringing him, and there are plenty out there, Barbatos's favorite is a ladle that looks like a stegosaurus.
It's far more whimsical than anything he would've ever picked out, and he'll never use it, but only because he's afraid of ruining it, not because he doesn't love it.
At some point, Barbatos does ask MC to stop bringing him kitchen gadgets
"Why? Do you not like them?" MC asks with a pout.
"I appreciate all of them, but I have everything I need when you're in the kitchen with me."
If MC wasn't already in love with him they are now
Smooth bastard just doesn't want anymore shit in his kitchen

HEADCANON + FUSHIGURO MEGUMI || relationship things
request: Can you do sfw and nsfw relationship hcs for Fushiguro
note: hello love! i wouldn’t mind doing some hcs for our little shy bean! tbh, i am not going to lie, this did not take me long to thing lmao - this is my first nsfw work on this blog tho! so this was definitely fun.
pronouns: them/they
note: aged-up!fushiguro! x reader, nsfw content below - please skip if you’re uncomfortable
other than that, enjoy~
Tumblr media
sfw
if you two ever share a home together, i feel like he’s the kind of guy who would string fairy lights around your home because it’s cozy to him?
definitely have dog themed couple items - matching dog themed slippers, mugs, even decorative plates if you allow him to
bet you they are both modelled after his shikigami dogs - since they were the first shikigami to submit to him. so they always hold a special place in his heart
i feel like even though he trains hard, he still likes to keep his hands in good condition. so there is tubes of hand lotion scattered everywhere, at the most random of places by the way
speaking to that - you two might have manicure weekends at home; where he’d spend some time just trimming and caring for his hands and fingernails. he’d do yours if you ask him to
sometimes he’d come home dead tired and just collapses on you wordlessly - wrapping his arms around you tightly whilst burying his face into your neck
would sigh in content when you wrap your arms around him and hold him close, just running your fingers through his hair gently and tracing your fingers down the back of his neck
if you try to ask him about work, he’d either tell you everything in detail or nothing at all - there is no in between
most times it’s just him grumbling about gojo and yuji, who he’d once said they both ‘shave so many years off my life just by breathing’
when he’s away on missions, he’ll call you just so you two can go about your day. no words are needed, but he just wants to hear you go about your day. it calms him down, and reminds himself that you’re going to be there for him
weekend visits to his sister - who survived the Shibuya incident and is now recovering slowly under the care of Ieiri (this is not canon by the way - in the manga we still have no idea how things are gonna turn out for her after the whole Geto thing)
having random members of the zen’in clan coming to your shared home asking if you’d talk to them about trying to convince fushiguro to become a zen’in
if fushiguro is home at the time, he’d send his devine dog on them; listening to their terrified screams with a pleased smile as they ran away from your home
“that’s not really nice, gumi.”
“yeah, yeah - wanna go grab some bingsu?”
honey, you are set for life by the way - mans can cook a bomb ass meal. and from what we know, learns quick too. so if you want to try something new, just give him a few minutes to google and watch a tutorial on it and i bet your ass he can recreate it down to a t
feel like he gives the best massages - don’t tell me otherwise. his hands are definitely made for more then just battles
enjoys it when you would whisper sweet nothings to him after a long week of work - getting more and more cuddly the longer you shower him in praises
he’s more talkative around you compared to others, more willing to share his emotions and how he’s feeling - even though sometimes he finds it hard to find the right words
he lets you wear his clothes - shirts, sweaters, hoodies, sweats. you name it, he’d just gives it to you. finds it cute how you’re drowned in the fabric
enjoys blow drying your hair; idk, i just see him with a peaceful expression on his face, carefully blow drying your hair for you after a warm shower together
would give you actual advice on your outfit - i feel like he’s the one who helps yuji and nobara put together their outfits together whenever they go out of town
nothing is out of place in your home - there is always a compartment for it, or a space on the shelf, or in a drawer
cooking dates together - if you can’t cook, he’ll teach you. if you can cook, you two will try something new together
feel like he’s a dark chocolate fanatic - so you guys will always have a shit ton of chocolate in your home
on some days you’ll come home and just have nue stretched out over your living room, your boyfriend just watching the tv before him whilst petting the owl-like shikigami like it’s a domesticated cat
“oh, hey babe.” he’d greet with a casual nod at you whilst you stand in the hallway, blinking in confusion
idk, i feel like you two have a chilled but lowkey chaotic relationship - since he is friends with gojo, yuji and nobara. but it’s still really loving, with more physical instead of verbal shows of affection. you’ll be treated like a queen/king, and as long as megumi has it, he will make sure you know how much he loves you, even if he’s not by your side due to work
nsfw
okay, i get he’s all innocent and is dense in everything else besides jujutsu - but you have to remember this dude’s dad is fushiguro fucking togi
don’t tell me this man is kink-less - there is no fucking way
i mean yeah, when you two first get down and dirty together, i feel like he’s all awkward and unsure at first, since he didn’t want to hurt you
but i get this vibe that he knows exactly what he wants - but let’s remember he’s still a shy bean that refuses to do anything with you until he is 100% comfortable
stress sex happens often - i can bet you that this man will probably come home with a dark look on his face, push you onto the nearest flat surface and just grinds against your ass
people keep saying that he’s a boobs man - and i can see that. doubt he really gives a shit about the size, he just enjoys how he can play with your nipples and have you squirm underneath him
he enjoys tugging your hair - there is just something about wrapping your soft strands between his fingers whilst he fucks you hard; hearing your voice loud and clear
feel like he’s a doggy man; enjoys running his large hand down your back and gripping the back of your neck. how he can shove your face into the mattress whilst fucking you silly from the back
lowkey has a dumbification kink - enjoys whenever you fucked so good by him that you’re basically drooling and babbling absolute nonsense at him
enjoys leaving hickeys on places you’d never notice at first - on your back, back of your hip, small of your back, shoulder blades. he enjoys you coming up to him with a blush on your face and smacking his shoulder, whining to him that nobara and maki saw the hickeys he left all over to you
bruises on your hips are also a common thing too - he’s hands are so strong and rough that sometimes he just forgets that your skin is delicate and you can bruise easily. he’ll apologise, then add new ones on top of the old ones
enjoys choking you as well - loves to feel your racing pulse under his fingertips and how you tighten around him whenever he tightens his old around you more
dacryphilia - definitely feels a thrill go through him when you’d look up at him with tear soaked lashes and stained cheeks. makes him take you harder
doesn’t always enjoy a blowjob - idk why, i feel like he’s more into giving that receiving. goes with his dacryphilia kink too - will stay with his head between your thighs until you’re crying and shaking whilst you try to push him away
definitely enjoys pinning you down, either with his hands or with ropes and handcuffs, but he’s not interested in the entire bdsm thing
enjoys buying you lacy lingerie, regardless of what gender you are, and just have you put them on to show him; only to then rip it off of you as he pins you down on the sofa
he’s somewhat of a soft dom, he wants to protect you and always make sure you’re going to be enjoying yourself. but he’s not above using your body for his own pleasure
he’s not a loud man - a loud grunt from time to time, low groans and growls. but he’s not loud in bed. but enjoys it when you’re loud
man loves the aftercare process - cleans you up gently with a towel, making sure you’re hydrated, getting you snacks if you’re hungry, rubbing your sore muscles. he views it as intimate and cherishes those moments when you lean on him the most

I largely agree with you about Senshi preferences in the manga! I think 90s anime Minako is great, but the manga goes a lot more into how she is as a leader and a warrior, there's a lot more time given to her thanks to the Sailor V manga, she stabs Beryl to death with a goddamn sword...I love manga Minako. Sucks she got sidelined in later arcs though.
Setsuna gets absolutely NOTHING in the 90s anime, whereas yeah, the manga had some good focus on her relationship with Chibiusa and the tragedy of her life, and her death was a much bigger deal (and ressurection was at least given an attempt at an explanation).
Manga Chibiusa really resonated with me, the additional focus on her struggles growing up, her desire to live up to her mother, desperation for love, how pluto's death affects her...and the manga did not lean on constant bickering with Usagi the way the anime does. Her explicitly moving on from her super friggin' weird thing with Mamoru is nice too. So yeah, my manga preferences are the same as yours!
I also treasure manga Rei alongside anime Rei, and have a lot of love for manga Hotaru and how raw her anger and depression is. Also like, 90's anime ships Chibs and Hotaru hard, but the manga goes even harder, like literally pulling an "even though we're both girls?" making it officially 90s yuri. And as I said, I do like that Mamoru and Usagi's relationship is more give and take and less distant and paternalistic in the manga, though I think Naoko favored him too much sometimes and he's not the same without his ridiculous speeches.
So yes, my tastes basically line up with you exactly lol.
I wasn't saying here there's not things I like better about the manga! As a whole, I do like the 90s anime better, but the manga has a ton of great takes and ideas. It's obviously important as the source material and honestly, I normally use the manga to supplement the 90s anime. Stuff like Makoto's backstory that the 90s anime never touched for some reason..Rei hating men...they are dear to me. And again, PGSM did SUCH a good job with a lot of the manga's ideas, as did the musicals.
I was probably a little harsh in that ask because iirc it was after Crystal kept the Haruka assaults Usagi thing, which was casting a dour cloud on the manga indeed.
Is there anything you think the 90s did better then the original manga?
Oh yeah, a ton. I prefer the 90's anime to the manga overall. The manga was pretty bare bones, though I think the manga does have it's strengths, I'm not like super anti-manga or think it's all garbage like some of my friends. It was the foundation for the anime, I think there are reasons why it was the way it was (a lot of them being crushing deadlines) and a couple of really interesting ideas it had I wish the 90s anime had fleshed out. (PGSM, notably, did flesh out some of those ideas--like Rei and Makoto's backstories--and it was really good).
I've talked about it before, but Haruka and Michiru wouldn't have been such icons and so important to queer fans if we only had the manga--the anime fleshed out their relationship, fleshed out their characters, and importantly, never had Haruka inexplicably suprise kiss Usagi, thus cheating on Michiru and never addressing what that means for their relationship. I just generally prefer their characters and how they were handled way more in the 90s anime. Michiru in particular was pretty done dirty by the manga, while she's wonderfully complex in the anime.
The anime also fleshed out the other girls and put emphasis on their friendships way more than the manga, which I heavily prefer. I'm not one of those people who's going to complain Mamoru was "shafted" by the anime, I prefer the relationship with the girls, who often had absolutely nothing to do in the manga and got captured over and over again. The manga was very focused on Usagi (and Mamoru and Chibiusa) above all else.
(I will say though, that the manga treated Usagi and Mamoru more as a passionate relationship between equals while the anime was often "ugh usagi is sooo childish and unreasonable and jealous and Mamoru is the Reasonable Man who has to put up with her, women amiright" you can kind of tell which one was written by a woman vs a man. doesn't help that the anime worsened their age gap.)
The anime also added a lot of the humor and fun we associate with Sailor Moon, and got to make the villains memorable in their own right--see the anime's version of professor Tomoe, Kunzite and Zoisite, so on. It added a lot of queer stuff too (some good like Kunzite and Zoisite, some pretty problematic and bad like Fish Eye).
Overall, Sailor Moon wouldn't be what it is in our hearts without the 90s anime, and I think it's the default for a lot of people (myself included) for a reason.
