I just finished chapter 12 of the the Iliad and Athena is so fond of Odysseus.

He's freaking out on the beach because he doesn't know he's on Ithaca, and she comes up disguised as a shepherd boy and is like "this is Ithaca, dude", and Odysseus immediately swallows down every single emotion and spins a whole story about being an exile from Crete because he killed the king's son, and Athena just laughs at him and says "There aren't many who can keep up with trickery, but I'm also well practised in intrigue" or something along those lines

And then she removes her disguise and says "you didn't recognise me, though!" and it has like the clear undertones of, 'haha, I win this round!'

and then she assures him that he is on ithaca, and points out landmarks to prove it, and they hide all his treasure, sit down and plot about how to murder all the suitors, before she disguises him as an old man and flies off to grab Telemachus from Sparta

It's the best. I love them both.

She heard me doing things so she came up to the side of her baby bin and blelelelele'd at me until I noticed her. She greets me every morning where we spend the first hour of every day together, her just resting in my hand and me holding her, often gently petting her head and tiny scales. If there is a heaven, that first hour we spend together is it.

She is getting a larger enclosure for her birthday in a month and a half. :D Hopefully I can get it done in time, as I haven't sculpted a custom enclosure before and will be trying some new artistic critiques. I do have experience sculpting though. My biggest worry is the paints and sealing them properly! Art I can do- but food safe art that will be in a moist bioactive enclosure is new for me.

you know what? out of all the batkids, i think the only ones who have a type of morning routine are

babs - the type who needs her morning routine. it's probably something like a light workout, yoga maybe/some form of wrist exercises. shower, coffee/breakfast which i imagine has a good amount of fruit and her daily morning phone call with her dad

steph on a good day - definitely coffee, don't see her as a morning exerciser, but i think she's someone who has a morning podcast she listens to while making breakfast. steph strikes me as a big breakfast person, almost hobbit style.

jason - also someone who needs a routine or sort of structured start to his day. similar to babs. morning workout (punching bag/weights) shower, coffee and breakfast that i think would be high carb & high protein. then i think he'd clean and maintain his weapons. i feel like he'd have news on in the background to get a feel for gotham on that day

Hey saw your post about blake lively and justin baldini and just wanted to let you know that the lawsuit also mentions how blake and the rest of the cast was following sony’s marketing plan for the film (they were instructed not to mention heavy domestic violence themes and to focus on lighthearted stuff and it being a story of hope and resilience/strength) while justin pivoted and started talking about survivors and acting like he was taking the story more seriously to portray himself as a feminist and ally. It was also his effort to “explain” why he was alienated from the rest of the cast (like he was taking the themes seriously while they were “not”) in order to bury his misconduct. The lawsuit is a long but informative read

Yes I read the full suit too, but my critiques of Lively were also about the fact she tried to use a movie about DV to promote her personal alcohol brand when alcohol is heavily associated with increasing incidents of DV, even going so far as naming an alcoholic beverage after the abuser in the movie. while I do appreciate that she was running with the studio's plan when it came to the promotion of the film, how she markets her personal alcohol and lifestyle brands are her choice. I will reiterate that I don't think any of that should detract from acknowledging that she was harassed and I do believe she was targeted and harassed. Not every critique of Lively and her brand, especially the critiques from DV survivors, are invalidated by the suit, nor do these critiques nullify the fact she was targeted.
