Just to be clear, eco is still disappearing/acting wacky in this AU, only dark eco is being unaffected-light eco suffering the most. Jack is perfectly capable of using dark eco.

The pirates end up shooting the plane down. Im not a huge fan of it being Daxters fault, hes a bit of a doofus but not an idiot, and with Jak being able to get the upper hand theres no reason for him to do anything rash.

Phoenix is now stuck trying to figure out if that random pilot he started a fight with is one of the prisoners he dealt with in the past or a new experiment that escaped. Meanwhile Jak is just "god damn brat, i've fought gods and im still having to deal these morons fml"

I know The Lost Frontier wasn't terribly loved, but I did think Phoenix had potential as a character with a little extra work (he was also one of the few characters from that game designed by Bob Rafei!)

Mar mysteriously disappeared right before he was suppose to use his weapon correct? What if he just pulled a Metroman; except he never truly forgoed doing things for the planet

He's aging and retired, his body can't go on adventures like he used to. So what else is there to do than let himself accept the offering of becoming a precursor that he for so long has put off?? He gets his whole veger moment of "I can't believe I've let myself turn into a gd rat."

Redrawing the leader as human with jak's colors makes for some eyebrow-raising design features too:

And if you subscribed to the theory of Jak being The Mar...well.

Same hair, beard, and eye shape.

Tldr; ottsel jak is plausible

I thought I was going crazy but then i rewatched through the cutscenes and no- Jak is noticeably taller in Jak X but magically shrinks in TLF.

Got nothing against short kings but everyone being taller and towering over Jak in TLF made the overall game hilarious.

Thanks to call the Jak-related brain rot lately, I decided to watch a playthrough of The Lost Frontier to refresh myself on the game... Since I refuse to replay it myself.

Holy FUCK its making me mad. The characters are BEYOND out of character, and Mar help me, plot points are so damn contrived I swear Im going to scream.

Who wrote this??? It reads worse than BAD fanfiction!!

If Lost Frontier were be different or Canon, I would put this.

Skyheed was clever trying to become one of the drained… he thought he can Defy the Consequences of becoming one of the Drained…

He tried be make a powerful species, but he failed too. with his death, his soul would be taken away by the drained. Well, At least I'll try to Ignore Lost Frontier since High Impact did Damage to the Jak Series.

im slowly giving him crazy scientist in essence of Baron Draxum but make no mistake, barry would not be amused by any of it

also im gonna bring this up, and its not something i think is true at all, i did like one google search just in case, but anyone think theres any chance, at least in early development, that Skyheed and Phoenix were meant to be related. again, i really doubt it, but it feels like something about their interactions is missing and i need to stop the hatmans getting closer

More Jak and Daxter portraits! I swear, had they just tried an ounce more with Phoenix he could have looked solidly tall dark and rugged. Instead he got bowl cut bangs, what was up with that?

Dark eco infection in his eye for good measure to either give him a ticking clock to stop Skyheed and maybe find a cure OR a more solid to quickly fear Jak like he did in the opening beyond Jak’s failed transformation. He doesn’t need more injuries, he reasons.
