So I have heard some stories on tumblr of people having phan-related dreams and I FINALLY had my first one! (Yay me! lol) Quickly wrote out as much as I could remember as soon as I woke up lest I forget it haha here it is!

So I dreamed last night that I was watching a new Dan and Phil video and I don’t really remember a whole lot of it but I do remember they were sitting on a couch near the fire doing some kind of s’mores thing (I dunno) but they were being really lovey-dovey, like leaning into each other, staring into each others eyes and flirting with eachother, smiling with eyes full of love for the other, and then finally at the end of the video, Phil had his legs lying out on the couch and Dan was laying his head down on his legs and just cuddling with him and then he looked up at Phil, even though he knew the camera was recording, leaned in and ran a hand through Phil’s hair and leaned in and started kissing him. And it looked like it was such a normal thing, like they weren’t worried what the fans reactions were gonna be, they were like, “yeah we’re gonna flirt before making out in a video, not gonna edit this out.”

And I remember gasping and having to rewind the video to see if this was real, and sure enough it was! And then I remember closing the video and screaming with tears streaming down my face, “YEEEES!!!! YESSS!!! FINALLY!!!!!!” But then it was after that that I woke up, and then I cried again bc it was a dream lol. 😭😭 But yeah, that was my first phan dream!😂😅

Max blinked back his shock, and his awe. He couldn't believe his eyes, Daniel looked… amazing.

Well, he'd always thought she looked amazing, beautiful and lovely. But this was a new look, she was… sexy. Of course, they've been friends for years now so he's seen her on vacation and in her race suit, he’s seen her in many different circumstances. So truly, this wasn't the first time he was seeing her bare back.

But… there was something about her tonight, under the lights of Christian's party in Vegas. 

He had been confused at Christian's tone when he'd asked if he had spoken with Daniel. He hadn't, but he knew she was here because she had texted that she was on her way. But he hadn't seen her because he hadn't known what he was looking for. 

He'd thought maybe she would be in a suit again, like she had joked with Geri. Or maybe a cocktail dress– she'd worn those before. But this outfit hadn't been anywhere near his thoughts.

He glared internally at George, Max had been leading them to the empty terrace. His hand twitched on her back before settling on the bare skin again. He looked away from George and his unnecessary yammering to look at Daniel again. He didn't want to stop looking at her– he never did.

He caught Christian’s eyes and narrowed his own at his boss who was giving him a thumbs up. Very inappropriate, but also Max appreciated it. Christian knew. 

He knew about Max’s, well this was maybe more than a crush at this point. Max was in love with Daniel, maybe. He hadn’t analyzed the feeling recently but he knew he had surpassed ‘crush’ territory. It had to have happened this year when Daniel became their reserve. Max had been able to ignore it and avoid looking too deeply into his feelings when they were on different teams, no longer in each other’s pockets. But since the car launch, they had slipped into their familiar close banter and camaraderie that had people unearthing that annoying nickname they used to call them back in the day. 

Daniel loved it, she always laughed when she saw it on posts. A full head thrown back, joyous sound. Max would just stare at the full column of her long neck. 

Max hated it, if only because it wasn’t true. They weren’t Maxiel, because that implied them being together. They weren’t and Max didn’t want to add to his delusions of it happening. So the name rankled him, like when you pet a cat’s fur in the wrong direction.

Speaking of cats, Jimmy and Sassy loved Daniel. They always came out of hiding whenever she came over. And they always gave her more attention and kneaded more biscuits for her.

“–Maxy, where did you wanna go again?” Daniel’s voice jolted him back into awareness, he looked into her smiling face and had the sudden urge to smear the sparkly lip gloss off of her lips. Preferably with his own lips. He wanted to know what it tasted like, if the gloss would be like lube for their kiss.

“We could go to the terrace?” Max offered, clearing his throat when his voice cracked. He was a three time world champion, his body shouldn’t be betraying him in this way!

“Sounds great Maxy Max.” Daniel tilted her head and Max felt warmed by her glow and her full attention on him. He was jealous when other people interacted with her, he always wanted her beautiful eyes on him– her intent listening expression. She gave everyone who she spoke with her full attention and Max tried to have that be him as often as he could.

They continued their walk across the party and they were able to avoid anyone else’s attention. The terrace was empty. The bar on the far end was still being set up– as if they hadn’t considered taking the party out of the event space. Daniel leaned against the railing, her elbows keeping her upright and allowing her to not press her back against the frigid metal. Because it was cold at night in the desert, not many people realized this. 

The lit fire pits were doing the lord's work to keep her from breaking out into goosebumps, but Daniel could feel her nipples pebbling under the pasties. Could feel the metal of her top teasing her skin. Max stood facing her, his hand now against her hip. Daniel swallowed thickly as she tried to ignore the way his thumb was swiping at the skin above her pants. The fact that he didn’t seem to realize he was doing it was messing with her molecules more than his touch was.

They chatted about nonsense for a while, Max’s palm felt branded into another part of her skin at this point. She couldn’t help but want. Want him to touch more of her. They were friends, yes. But she often wished they were more. She was happy being friends with Max though, and was ok with the fact that that seemed to be all he wanted from her as well. 

Normally she wouldn’t push, wouldn’t fiddle with the bars of her enclosure. But tonight, she felt sexy and she had his complete attention and she wanted.

Daniel leaned into his space with the original intent to pass on some potentially juicy gossip she saw brewing in the throng of the party, but her cheek brushed against Max’s and she felt the scratch of his beard and well, here came the goosebumps after all.

“Max.” Daniel breathed, it could be classified as a whine, but she wasn’t going to look too deeply into it. She would be embarrassed at making such a noise in front of Max. He smelt so good, she wanted to just press her face into his neck. She imagined him pulling her body against him, his hand gripping her hip tighter.

“Daniel, you look amazing.” Max said quickly, as if he was trying to prevent someone from interrupting them again.

“I– Yeah?” Daniel drew back and bit her lip, this time ignoring the lip gloss. To hell with it. “Thank you Max.” She could feel her skin heat up, darkening the cosmetic blush brushed into her cheeks. His hand against her hip clenched a little and she had to stop her eyes from rolling into the back of her head. 

Max groaned internally, this was torture of the highest order. Daniel was right here with him; he had her to himself and he wanted to keep it that way. He was a three time world champion. He could get what he wanted, and he wanted Daniel. She was completely attuned to him, drawn tight like a bowstring. He wanted to see what she looked like when he made her come apart and lose her tension.

“Come back to mine later? After?” Max spoke into the air between their faces, her lips were so close that he could taste her lip gloss if he wanted to.

“Yeah, ok.” Daniel whispered, eyes searching his. She nodded as if to confirm her consent, her want.

“Good. we can leave after they cut the cake.” Max’s face took on a focused quality, one Daniel only saw when he was considering taking someone home. She felt butterflies erupt in her stomach, she felt even more sexy. Wanted. 

She didn’t know how long it would be until they cut the cake but she could manage, as long as Max kept touching her and looking at her like this. She would get what she wanted later, and Daniel being Daniel– she couldn’t help but tease Max a little.

“Gonna ruin me Maxy?” She breathed and looked up at him through her eyelashes, angling her face in the way that all her previous partners found sexy.

“Absolutely.”

She couldn’t hide the hitch in her breath even if she wanted to.

from a timetravel Maxiel AU. Scene taking place in the aftermath of this absolutely wild 2016 Red Bull x American football video

Man, why you gotta go back to racing cars?! One of the guys had announced, and they had all laughed, and Daniel had laughed along, beaming so hard his cheeks ached.

“I think if I wasn’t an F1 driver, I could do American football,” he says aloud, leaning his head back against the cool wall. He doesn’t want to get changed yet, to shed off the padding and the jersey and return to his nondescript jeans and Red Bull jacket. He doesn’t want to return to his life, not just yet.

“You were very good,” Max says, sitting on the wooden bench. He still won’t look at Daniel, instead frowning as he tries to undo the shin protection.

“Want me to help?” Daniel offers, but Max shakes his head, tugging hard enough it comes free.

“I think it would be fun to be in a sport when you have a team,” Daniel continues after a beat, thinking aloud. His voice is rough, strained from all the shouting. “Doing it with those guys today, you know? Just seeing them together, and I think I could be friends for life with them too if I was on a team.”

“You are already on a team,” Max mutters. Daniel looks at him, but he now has his back to Daniel. His jersey is already pooled on the floor beside him, and Daniel watches as he slips out of the shoulder pads, revealing an expanse of pale, perfect skin. He can see a hint of muscles, the trapezius muscle rippling as Max lowers the shoulder pads to the bench with surprising gentleness.

“What was that?” Daniel asks after a beat too long.

“I said you already have a team,” Max repeats, turning around. Daniel forces himself to just stare at Max’s face, but Max is pointedly not looking at him. Instead he’s picking up his gym bag, rummaging through it with knitted brows and thin lips.

“I -“ And then Daniel exhales a laugh. “Of course I do Maxy. But it’s different. My teammate isn’t on my side. My teammate is trying to do better than me and win,” he tries to remind him but thinks it comes off patronising and waits for Max to flare up.

“I’m always on your side,” Max says simply, and the words alone somehow wipe Daniel’s mind clean empty. He just stares at Max, the softly spoken words ringing in his ears as loud as the men’s chants and cheers from the afternoon.

Hold

Taken from a wip where Max has autism

Daniel looks back at him. He’s holding his phone, brightness turned all the way down, but it’s still the only light between them now. It lights his face in an unnatural hue, cold and almost blue. Max thinks he loves Daniel. His chest hurts with it, the unexplainable emotion he feels and can’t contain for this man.

“What do you mean Max?” Daniel says with a frown.

He shakes his head. Even though he started this conversation, he suddenly doesn’t want to finish it.

“Forget it Dan,” he says, rolling back onto his side, back to Daniel. His shirt twists but Max doesn’t bother to straighten it out. He just wants to sleep.

Daniel is quiet for a few beats, and then Max feels the ghost of a hand skim his arm. It’s strange, because with everything else in life Daniel acts as if he is Midas. He revels in it, the act of physically touching another. Hugs, fist bumps, handshakes, kisses. He touches everything with a reckless abandonment; everything other than Max. Max isn’t sure what he should make of these gentle touches, uncertain brushes of fingertips.

When Max doesn’t react, Daniel gently grips his arm, tugging Max so he has to roll onto his back, return to Daniel. He looks up, tracing the frown with which Daniel regards him with.

“You know you’re one of my favourite people, don’t you Max?” He says, voice in almost disbelief at the concept Max doesn’t already know.

I have people in mind for the cast of my WIPs, but I am fully aware that they might be too old, or not tall enough, or any other manner of obstacles. The following are my 'head canon cast' - the people I'd put in a gifset in a 'movie magic' kind of casting.

For the Adventures of Sitora Lux:

Sitora - Dianna Agron

I have had such a hard time finding an actor who has the youthful, unassuming joy that I picture in Sitora. Dianna has it. The main thing that I'd look for in casting Sitora would be her smile. Never mind that she's 5'5" and Sitora's a cool 6'. That's what movie magic is for 😂

Raelynn Thenorin - Danielle Rose Russell

Saw a gifset on Tumblr and just thought "That's my Raelynn". In particular, her bone structure just makes her look so much like how I pictured Rae. ❤️

Lance Marrowstone - Malachi Kirby

Just look at my boy! Lance is a major sweetheart and a badass fighter, and it was important to me that I choose a Black British actor for him.

Trix - Brenda Song

Brenda is who I pictured when I wrote Trix, and she's just got that glamorous, superior look down pat. She's older than the character is supposed to look, but we have time powers here.

I was agonising about the casting for Matthew when I realised that I literally named him after Matthew from Downton Abbey. Is it any coincidence that Dan is the perfect fit? I've been on Pinterest literally staring at gifs of my blorbo for days now.

A jawline built for angst. Big brown universe eyes to get lost in. That's my boy!

Amanda Suffolk - Jessica Chastain

Absolutely frothing at the mouth for Jessica Chastain in any period pieces. The only problem with her taking on Amanda as a fairly small role is that she would totally steal the show.

Look, this whole exercise does make me a little uncomfortable. Am I going to get cancelled in the future if any of these actors end up being problematic? Maybe. Is this an official 'author's endorsement' for casting my stuff? Hell no, this is just so my followers can see who I see in my head. A small part of me does find this desperately creepy too >_< but also it's been fun.

Black asphalt winds through the snow laden forest. Big flakes fall and the windshield wipers race to clear their accumulation. Although winter rages outside, inside the sedan the heat blows and the seats warm their passengers. Soon, the forest melts away to reveal the body of water with a beautiful resort stretching alongside it.

The fluffy, white flakes blanket the ground overlooking Lake Tahoe. While the lake itself doesn’t freeze, the world around it is blanketed in a frozen, white wonderland. The sprawling Edgewood Tahoe Resort stands impressively along the shore of the lake and its beauty is accentuated by the nature around it.

When Thomas puts the car in park under the cover at the entrance, he sighs loudly, a frown forming on his lips. “It’s so white.”

Natalia’s eyebrows furrow together in confusion and she looks up from her purse. “It’s snow, Thomas.”

“I live in Hollywood. I don’t know what weather is, let alone snow.”

She rolls her eyes, “Don’t be dramatic. Most everyone has seen snow at least once.”

“Just because I’ve seen it, doesn’t mean I enjoy it.”

His quiet grumbling isn’t missed by her and she turns a glare towards him. “If you did not wish to come, then you could have just said so.”

Without another word, she exits his sleek Mercedes-Benz and slams the door, causing Thomas to curse under his breath at the blatant disregard of the care of his vehicle. He watches as she marches straight into the hotel and checks them in, leaving him to deal with the valet and the bags.

AN HOUR LATER

“What do you mean you’re going out?” Thomas is standing in front of the door to their suite with his arms crossed, staring down at the woman who causes many emotions to roll through him.

Annoyance being the top one currently.

“I have rented some skis and I am going out.” Natalia looks away from him and tries to reach around him to the doorknob, but he blocks her.

“I was under the impression that this trip was a romantic getaway before the holidays. Typically, romantic getaways include activities with both the man and the woman.” His eyes soften and he begins to reach out for her hands.

But before he can get close, she jerks away from him. “Yes, well, I’m sure you’ve had plenty of past experience.”

Surprised, Thomas stiffens, which allows her to sneak by him and out the door.

“What on earth?”

LATER

By the time she returns from her ski tour, he has come up with an elaborate plan to show her he really does care for her. Loves her. So when she walks back into their suite, he is in front of their mirror, adjusting his tie.

When Natalia closes the door behind her, he turns around, donning a jet black suit and crisp white shirt. Stunned into silence, she just stands near the threshold, staring at Thomas.

“Do you see something you like or are you still angry with me?” He gives her an unsure smile, uncharacteristically insecure in front of her.

The surprise in her eyes is accompanied by rosy cheeks still cold from the winter outside. He can’t help but drag his eyes over her bundled form. The way her red cheeks brighten her face and her eyes still twinkling as she gazes upon him makes his heart swell in a way he would never tire of.

Seeing him obviously trying to apologize for earlier makes her more guilty for the way she left. The way she had treated him when they arrived at the resort and the way she threw his past in his face. It was all so childish. So, while she was headed back to the resort, she had practiced the speech she was going to give over and over and over again. Now, seeing him like this, it made her forget everything but the man in front of her.

“I’m so sorry.” Slowly, she begins walking towards him, not making eye contact. “I acted immature. I suppose I just expected you to be enthusiastic about everything and I forgot that you… well, you’re you.”

“I’m—” Thomas frowns fiercely when he’s cut off, but concedes nonetheless.

“I don’t mean that in a bad way.” She reaches him and takes his hands in hers, relishing the warmth. “I have come to love everything about you. Which includes the moments you are completely insufferable.”

The softness in his face quickly hardness at the insult, but the kiss she presses to his lips relaxes him. His arms wrap around her, deepening the kiss, inhaling her heavenly scent and as they break apart, he runs a finger down her chilled cheek, sighing as his frown melts away.

“I understand that I can oftentimes be… difficult, but nevertheless, you have imprinted yourself into my life. Quite often, I wonder how on earth I became so lucky to earn your love. I am someone who does not allow others in easily, someone who keeps to myself, and someone who does not allow silly, cliche notions to overtake my ideas. But with you,” he pauses, cupping her cheek adoringly as he gazes into her eyes, “I wonder how you made me fall so quickly and effortlessly. I have never loved anyone or anything as much as I love you.”

No more words are said. The night is filled with tangled sheets and limbs before room service and more intimate dessert later. Neither could explain the connection they have besides pure love that came fast and strong.

And nothing could ever make them wonder what it would be like to be apart when together everything is perfectly imperfect.

I’m pretty sure they were using blue to indicate what went to the living flat and pink for what went to the filming flat, because that is where all of those things end up

I love this video a lot. I think they must have filmed this ahead of the Australia trip that I talked about in the last post, because they seem to have moved almost immediately after getting back. Although with DNP and their usual lack-of-planning-ahead, who knows, ahahaha.

They had moved (but were still unpacking) by April 27 when they did a live show from the new place. Dan also shared this amazing creep shot that Phil took the day before that.

Another contender for my favorite video of 2021. I know I’ve said that about 4-5 times but there are just so many good ones. It is so much more unhinged than the first texting video - either because they didn’t share the weirdest ones before or because they were outside/apart more for the texts in the first one, rather than mostly texting each other from inside the house. Also, I adore this “outtake” of a Kath text that Phil posted as a Short. They didn’t say much about what they were doing for Christmas (other than Phil going to see his family), but both Dan and Phil did share an Insta story.

This is one of my favorite PINOFs. Dan also posted bloopers, but not until Christmas. I might like that video even more than this one, actually. They had a lot of great clips to choose from!

This was the last main channel video for either of them in 2016; there were no December videos, which is strange. This was the first year they did Gamingmas which kept them very busy and is probably why they didn’t have main channel videos.

Also in December, they performed the final TATINOF show in Sweden, put up the rave tree, Phil went to a family wedding while Dan did...this, had a friendmas, and a candle incident. Phil was with his family for Christmas by December 22, playing board games and hiding presents...interestingly. He also posted this food photo that Dan mocked him for. 😂 Dan went to visit his family briefly too (after editing a lot of final Gamingmas videos). Both DNP were back home and “hibernating” by December 30.
