But I feel like Baek just needs a break. So I'd probably choose to do something chill (I say as tho I wouldn't be a basket case and like I can speak Korean). Maybe go to a coffee place, preferably one with baked goods, near a park or a river and just take our coffee (and pastries) to a nice spot to chill and talk. Maybe get some pizza for lunch. I know that he feels and thinks about things deeply and can be a little (a lot) hard on himself. But he's got this big, big heart. I just love how full of light he is, yk?

7. Between 1 and 2, whose closet would you raid?

Okay I was going to put this in the tags but I reached the 30 tag limit 😒

But anyway here's what I'm thinking for their powers. You mentioned that they're all justice gods so I'd really go in on that, but we can have our cake and eat it too here! And we can mix different mythologies to get really creative with it. And also I keep talking about splinters and epithets and what happens when writers don't know their characters (or in universe, what happens when reality splits apart only to stick itself back together wrong or layer too many fractured pieces over top of each other).

Three gods, three fates, three parts of a whole.

Judge, jury, and executioner.

The sky, the sea, and the land.

The body, the mind, and the soul.

So Jason is the judge, jury, and executioner for obvious reasons and that's the main part of his abilities. As Red Hood he's the Judge, as Robin ll he's the Jury, and as that nebulous space between - which I've dubbed Ghost - is the executioner. But he's not a court unto himself, he shares some of these aspects with Tara - the Judge, able to see the big picture and determined to see the humanity in everyone, divine right to rule running through her veins even if it's a different kind of ruling than she once thought - and Grant - the jury, with no strong desire to help people, picked for the job more than he chose it, but deeply opinionated about the concept of right and wrong nonetheless. Jason with the All-Blades remains the executioner, the divine burden he carries so that the others won't have to.

Tara is the sky, earth, and sea all at once. The Warrior with the powers of earth, the Princess named for the stars, and the Rogue who found a new home across the sea. But that's a big responsibility to have all her own, so it's fortunate she has Jason - named for a traveler of the seas, crawled from the earth - and Grant - bearing a name meaning solid and heavy, who died with his head in the clouds.

Grant I think should have more mental powers, and that's why the serum didn't work. Because it was made to replicate Slade's physical abilities but that's not how Grants meta gene would have manifested. Grant coming back in perfect health but with powerful mental powers he can't use would be an interesting contrast. If we take soul as the essence of ones being, emotions, and personality, then Grant embodies this only after he starts to heal. And Jason would be the body because despite everything he has physically healed and come back and gotten stronger and built himself up again, and Tara is the soul here because she's the only one in this trio who 100% is like "I have a family I have no doubt loves me and I am happy and fulfilled being myself and living as myself" because for so long she was denied the right to be perceived as human and the right to an identity so she claws at it with both hands. Jason is also the one with the deepest connection to the essence of himself however and Tara is the one who for a time had nothing but her body and the power it housed.

Jason has more of his power than the other two because while Tara has different personas, they're not quite splinters the way Jason's are. He is quite literally split into three to be able to hold the weight of it. Grant has the least of his powers because he came back to life the most recently and so is a lot further behind in the development department than Jason and Tara. He's got a lot to do to reach ascension which is why it's so ironic that he's the one who wants it the most. Grant hasn't really even started splintering yet or dividing himself into categories, but when he does I think it'll go back to that Wolf, Sheep, and Hunter thing.

There's also something to be said here about their ascension quests. Specifically how Tara is the Judge and her challenge is to take control of her kingdom, and Grant THINKS his challenge is to kill his dad (I don't actually think he'd want to hurt Addie? Like emotionally maybe but I don't think he could bring himself to ever physically hurt his mother because while she was nowhere near perfect she was always there and he still loves her) but anyway I think his challenge is actually to forgive them. Which is horrible, yes, but I think it's the only way for him to prove he's "just" in the eyes of the universe because let's be real he's not working towards the betterment of the world or himself really. Which is going to be really hard for him anyway, but also once he gets with Jason he doesn't even know if he wants to be a god so even if he did want to forgive them he now has to choose between Jason (his humanity) and his family (reaching divinity).

Anyway to give them powers based on their worst traumas Tara would be able to see like, the strings of fate basically the more powerful she got. And she can't do anything with them as a mortal but she always feels the call, the itch under her skin to tug and twist and weave the way her fingers were made to. But Tara's biggest fear is being trapped, of being bound and controlled again and she doesn't want to do that to anyone else. It goes back to her death when she was trapped under the rubble, but it also ties into her parallels with Diana and her lasso of truth.

Jason can tell how morally corrupt someone is, he can smell smoke, thick and acrid the stronger the more vile someone is, no mask or helmet can save him from the stench, but not even when he's choking on it, sure he's going to suffocate again, can he call the All-Blades. Because smoke without fire is just a warning, but Jason is not divine enough to see the flames.

I don't know what I would do for Grant, something to do with telepathy maybe. Grant died when his heart gave out and heart could be a more symbolic pathos approach and telepathy is hearing thoughts (which Raven was doing when he died), hearing would kind of complete the See no evil (Jason can't see the smoke, Rose is half blind), do no evil (Tara can't touch the strings), Speak no Evil (Joey is mute when he doesn't have the speaker thing) thing going on with both the trio and the Wilson kids. So if Grant was half deaf but could hear people's thoughts it would also go back to those mental abilities I mentioned earlier. The more he listens to people's thoughts the worse his physical hearing gets.

So they're constantly surrounded by thoughts of the worst moments in their lives and they feel this constant burning need to DO something about it but because they haven't ascended yet they can't fully use them. Fates way of making them suffer that little bit more so they'll hurry the fuck up already!

For the mythology itself, maybe the more they uncover about the All-Caste the more they find the bits and pieces of their mythology, but because the civilizations who saw them coming couldn't agree on the different things they were seeing the book is a mess of contradictions. Because those ancient seers were all looking at different realities that hadn't yet merged, and so while all of them hold some truth none of them fully fit together.

For example in one account Tara's divine counterpart is Jason's lover (they're both grossed out by this) and in another they're mother and son (they hate this one even more!) and in the only other one they could find they were sworn enemies trying to kill each other (literally what are you talking about, that's twin!). And honestly most of those writings were just ancient old men being symbolic (i.e. they were married to explain how humans came to be the Earth and the Sea gave birth to them all, they were trying to kill each other to represent a debate two philosophers were having about the justice of man (Jason) and the justice of nature (Tara).). The mother son thing was just a misinterpretation, one seer saw Jason being raised by three different women representing earth, sky, and sea, and by then Tara had become associated with all of them so they were like well they're probably all the same woman and we already know who fits the bill, but in reality they're seeing Cathy (earth), Nathalie (stars), and Talia (sea).

Grant's counterpart(s) don't start being mythologized till later, a result of him starting his journey to ascension later than the other two. And so when the most accurate creation myth of Tara and Jason being born as siblings from the same womb of the aether was written Grant wasn't included. He only started being written about around the change from Greco-Roman society to Roman Catholic society and his mythology definitely reflects this. Grant is understandably not happy about this. But anyway a bunch of scripture is missing or muddled or written in an ancient cypher no one has cracked yet, so they're writing the rest of the story as they go, fighting to delay the inevitable.

New all caste au

To explain the all caste and Jason being a god thing, Ducra stated Jason was the first human in a thousand years to have survived the cleansing process. That’s cannon. Now I know he canonically fulfilled a prophecy about killing the devourer of young souls before he even left the all caste so at MOST he was 18. Obviously he canonically resurrected too, has the all blades which can only hurt true evil, is primarily known for challenging Bruce’s morals and was the ‘magic’ Robin. Resurrection in lots of different religions is associated with gods. Him being a god isn’t like, the craziest thing to happen. Especially for a bat I mean come on, I’m pretty sure Duke’s a demigod or at least close to being one thanks to his dad.

Anyways Jason, Tara and Grant are all new avatars of a Justice god trio. I don’t think I’ll use actually mythology so I’ll have to come up with names for them but anyways to unlock their full powers they’ll have to ascend. To ascend they have to first live a human life, suffer and then right the wrongs that have harmed them. For Jason that’d be killing the Joker and forcing Bruce to get his shit together, for Tara it’d be kicking her dad’s ass and everyone who experimented on her probably also revolutionising her kingdom, and for Grant it’s dealing with his parents. However, since Slade is the closest thing Tara’s got to a good dad and she does really care about him you can see why they might have issues.

Jason doesn’t want to ascend because he feels his morality is heavily influenced by his human experiences and if he were to ascend he would loose his humanity which made him moral in the first place. Mostly because he’s seen what someone who’s privileged and virtually untouchable can convince themself is right *cough cough* Bruce. This means he can’t kill the joker because otherwise he would lose his humanity. Therefore in his attempt to not become Bruce, he still has just in a different way. Killing the joker is Jason’s one line that he can’t cross. That and sticking up to Bruce.

Tara somehow has even more complicated feelings on the matter. She comes from a family that supposedly had the divine right to rule. Due to her being born because of infidelity she was kept from that divine right. Markovia believes their royal family were granted powers by the gods who then punished them for their greed. Tara was taught to believe that the gods favoured her father and his legitimate sons over her just because she was born in different circumstances. She got powers from people who experimented on her and tried to turn her into a weapon. What with the dark side club taking away her agency and using her for her powers, she comes to really value autonomy and sees her powers as almost a divine punishment. The gods didn’t give her powers because she was illegitimate. When she got powers anyway, she was flung about by fate and forced into fighting for the wealthy patrons’ entertainment. So now to find out she was a god herself and all her suffering was prophesied and necessary for her to be truly just… let’s just say it’s complicated but she is most definitely pissed. When it comes to her opinion on ascending, she doesn’t exactly have the most positive view of gods. Combine that with a bit of pre-existing self loathing and an intense need to be recognised as human and not just a powerful being to be puppeted around by patrons/fate, she doesn’t really want to ascend. So she’s forced to watch her brother buckle under the weight of all of Markovia on his back and see her home be ravaged by tragedy. Because if she did intervene she’d no longer be Tara. She’d be a powerful being who’s only good so long as she’s useful, again.

Grant is totally down for getting rid of his parents and ascending because he’s always wanted to be stronger, he doesn’t care about losing his humanity and has no issue with getting some revenge on his parents. This then gets complicated by his parents having changed. They aren’t entirely different people but Slade especially treats his kids better. Tara’s willing to fight for Slade and once Slade finds out his son’s alive he tries to rebuild their relationship (granted in his own way but it’s certainly a surprise to Grant). Grant is super distrustful (VALID) but decides he can leverage the situation over Slade to get him to do things. However, then Joey gets involved. Whereas Jason was taking a more subtle and patient kind of redemption for Grant (Jason’s original more bossy approach didn’t work so he decided to be more patient and lenient) Joey has no qualms with forcing Grant to confront his own misdeeds. Joey’s not as mad about Grant leaving as he is that Grant came back to life and didn’t tell anyone. Joey is pissed and now Grant’s more focused on apologising to Joey than he is torturing Slade. Well at least for a little bit.

Also I’ve been thinking about their powers. I see like two different options. Since Tara has earth powers and she died under rubble I’m thinking of either giving them all elemental powers or giving them all powers relating to how they died.

1) Tara has rock powers. Jason has fire/light powers (because his all blades). Grant has ice? Or some other element.

2) Tara has rock powers. Jason has explosion/smoke/fire powers (because of his death). Grant has poison powers (because the serum poisoned him).

3) Tara has rock powers. Jason has explosion/smoke/fire powers (because of his death). Grant has mind powers because when he died Raven was messing with his head. [Added bonus of Grant getting the lamest power in his opinion.]

4) Or classic sky, land, sea trio. Tara is the land, and the other boys get one. Idk what way around though.

Nobara as Toki: has no hesitation standing up for herself, knows how to put people in their places,😒embodiment of this emoji when it comes to men, is most trusted by Eboshi and is 2nd in charge when she's not there(the village holded off an entire army under her command and also successfully evacuated everyone and was the last one to leave)if the trait confidence was a person, president of the Maki/Eboshi simp club.

the fact that zutara came from being on opposite sides of the war, where zuko still directly drew parallels between them in their elements & the yin / yang of tui & la; to then zuko taking a lightning bolt for his ally against the literal embodiment of violent corruption & hatred in the fire nation & katara using her culture, her bending to save him in hope for a new world & as someone she cares deeply for, cannot be understated.

aang’s “developing bond” with katara was him imprinting on her like a baby duck when he awoke from the iceberg, all the way up to him consistently ignoring her agency & kissing her without consent before bryke handwaved it away in the finale to make the relationship seem mutual. these two are not the same. ✨

wonyoung: a junior, majors in nursing and the mum of the friendgroup along with chaeryeong and y/n tbh. pretty popular and is known to get a lot of love letters from guys, too bad shes a lesbian. off duty model and love y/n alot they met eachother a long time ago before riki.

chaeryeong: a senior, majors in design/fashion, number 1 riki anti but still loves him ofc, acts 20 years older than everyone in the group cuz shes a senior. closest with wonyoung, y/n and sunoo in the group but met y/n through wonyoung. always gives the group advice on what to wear and always like to take the group out on trips.

beomgyu: a senior, majors in visual arts, the groups trouble maker and riki’s enabler. never trust beomgyu and riki in the same room unless you want somethinv to blow up (true). beomgyu met y/n, when he was mentoring the juniors in visual arts and they got along very well. emo cuz hueningkai said so, also oldest in the group 😵‍💫
