Do you have any good fantastical spooky movies from classic movie era? I liked La Belle et la Bête (1946) and would love something similar.

I love this topic, you and I are of such a similar mind about this that I am actually in the situation of having skipped a number of spooky movies because I wanted to save them for the Hallowtimes. So I will soon have more!!

But in the meantime, I believe the film for you is Last Year At Marienbad (1961), dir. Alain Resnais. Très très surreal, set.....actually that feels too definitive, let's say "staged" at some sort of liminal French chateau that's all tableaus and nightmares. Also like, not not possibly a sort of Beauty & the Beast situation, in its own way? The kind of movie that has a whole section of its Wikipedia page for Interpretations, right before another for Influence.
