#the last two episodes kind of swerved into a game of thrones: the anime arc thing

did i like castlevania season 3?? idk idk dude (some spoilers to follow)

there were things i liked! some funny comedic moment’s, trevor’s voice acting, some of the neat action scenes, alucard’s lovingly animated hair full of sparkles, the iconic toilet paper exchange

but like

on the other hand, the plot seemed like a d&d campaign that had too many party members split up in too many directions, so the coherency crumbled a bit??? isaac was going on the most boring murder-roadtrip of his life (and look i don’t strongly oppose following a neutral evil character around, but if you’re not aiming to slowly become a better person/fighting against your own antagonist u could try being evil with some sort of motivation?? some kind of endgoal??? where is the style?? the panache???? the mini-episode with the boat captain was good though), the hector and lenore storyline was interesting for like, two episodes (psychological mind games and bargaining!!), and then dragged on and went into some weird places (i did cackle internally when the line ‘you smell like jasmine and wine’ came out though it was too reminiscent of the early ff net fics i read), carmilla and her castle council kind of swanned around talking about their plans without as much momentum going forward that i expected, trevor and sypha were trying to solve a mystery but we got no real concrete answers on why saint german wanted to go into the infinite corridor of clubbing lights (some of the shots in there looked very magica madoka somehow, we could have at least have some nostalgic flashbacks from him talking to his ‘dear person’ that he was trying to find), and the final fight in the end of the season seemed like a let-down?? also why make alucard sadder was that necessary???? i don’t mind characters having to go through blood and suffering, but at the end of it im expecting them to either get a couple answers or get some kind of stronger emotional resolution/emotional bonds at least 

i mean, i watched all of it so who can tell if i really enjoyed it or not :’’))
