My baby daughter got her adorable puffin-print dress absolutely CAKED in mud crawling around the yard and my first thought was "oh no her beautiful dress"

And my second thought was "oh huh it really WOULD be easy to unconsciously steer her away from playing in the dirt. Unlike my son, whose outfits are usually some kind of solid dark easily washed pants plus a shirt that doesn't trail in the dirt like a dress does."

Anyway something something gender roles start getting shoved on kids from literal birth, but with a little time to think about things, YOU TOO can let your children of any gender absolutely destroy their clothes in the dirt pit they're digging in your garden

cassie sandsmark star jorts from issue #23 of yj98 you have always been famous to me

I made these jorts in 22 hours over the course of 3 days! pure willpower via my love for cassie sandsmark because I am a total novice in sewing and i am still not very good at it. (i really just combined various tutorials and improvised on measurements and then regretted improvising measurements later on).

I thrifted these jeans last year for cassie vibes (even though I had already made her star-spangled red bellbottoms at that point) and wasn't a fan of how they fit + I couldn't figure out how to style them. I enjoyed sewing in the panels to flare them out and then everything else (cargo pockets and sewing in stars) was hell <3

the pockets are not placed well (nor are they particularly well-made), the hem is uneven, the stars are quite janky (and I think I stitched on too many), I probably stabbed my fingers a million times, and I am so in love with them

Here's a snippet from Chapter 7 of Buck and Eddie while they're standing in the operating room with their surrogate, her OB/GYN, several nurses, a videographer and two patient care representatives.

Buck kisses Daniella’s forehead then he breaks the sound barrier first. “Babe! Our daughters… they’re here!” He whisper shouts while maintaining eye contact with the love of his life. His tears start streaming down his face and his mask is completely wet but he doesn’t care.

“My love, they are here and I—I’m so happy...” He trails off because he’s not doing any better since he’s just as emotional as his husband. He kisses her cheek and becomes mesmerized by their daughter.

When Danielle opens her eyes and looks at her father for the first time, it literally takes Eddie’s breath away.

She maintains eye contact with him and when she licks her tongue out, Eddie’s heart swoons. He exhales a deep breath and says, “Hello Danielle, we’re your dads and you’re one of our girls.”

Eddie turns into a pile of goo because their daughters are the most precious and beautiful girls in the world. He knows he’s biased but he doesn’t care and he’s not taking anybody’s opinions into consideration. They’re their daughters and they’ve had his heart in the palm of their hands since the moment he found out their surrogate was pregnant.

Buck looks at Daniella and says, “Welcome to the world Daniella, me and your dad are so happy to finally meet you.” His heart melts because their daughters are the best little girls in the whole world and he won’t listen to anyone who says they aren’t.

A bit of more Aiko/Chiaki doodles with a new oc I showed in the last Aiko post.

So here is Daiki, Aiko and Chiaki’s unwanted son. He is a sweetheart despite the environment he grew up with. He would get along with Ringo if they were on the same timeline.

Aiko has very mixed feelings towards Daiki. She got a really bad postpartum depression and really doesn’t know how to be a mother and sometimes would lash out and being mean to the kid for no reason. Aiko just hates that Daiki looks like Chiaki.

Daiki never meets Chiaki since he was dead but is fun to draw Chiaki with Daiki. Definitely he would try to kill him in his sleep.

On the peak of that mountain village, they saw upon the horizon, the castle of their home go up in flames. Horrified and scared, the apprentices sought to follow their mentors guidance, and followed her lead into a small barn. It was there, that Opheria proceeded to slaughter each and everyone of the apprentices. It seemed she somehow had a hand in this sudden attack on the Order of Palms. Gjör D'annevual survived a sword through the 'heart', on account of a rare condition, that places her heart on the other side of her chest. When she finally managed to bring herself back home, the Order was insulted by her survival. She had so many better peers, why couldn't any of them have survived? This runt was seriously the only thing that survived Opherias wrath? It was better to just wash their hands clean of this. Thus the Order decided to banish Gjör from their ranks. She now travels the land in search of a purpose.
