the first two seasons of malevolent feel like a graveyard. everyone involved in this is already dead. everything has already transpired. its all done and we're just discovering the past

very reminiscent of those old short horror stories that are told from the perspective of an investigator who is only personally involved in the action to be the narrator

it feels like the story we're hearing is haunted by another story from the past

#its such a peculiar feeling #because you keep expecting arthur to be involved in this bigger story of the ritual and shubby and anna and amanda one of these episodes #and it just. doesnt happen. not beyond the obvious that john ended up in the book because of it #the king in yellow is the only actual plot thats currently unfolding but it really doesnt feel like it until the end of season two #because arthur keeps stumbling upon these pieces of this larger thing that literally happened ten years ago #with just small glimpses at the king #season 3 and 4 dont have that. haunted feeling about them. i cant put it into words but there is a very palpable change in tone and action #malevolent #niki.rambles
