Important Update

Wassup ya'll. I've been crazy busy with college and even more personal stuff hence why I haven't made an update ever since.... September.... Yikes- That's like.... 6 MONTHS BRUUUUUHHH

I'm gonna give a life update and then I will talk about the JMC and what's happening with it. Let's jump right into it ✨️🕺✨️

Life Update ✨️🦐✨️

It’s been a long time and my life has been way too chaotic for me to keep going with JMC updates. I’m busy with college and it’s not really in a university but a community college with an 100% acceptance rate so that totally won't affect my education or anything (/sar). 

I'm struggling and gripping for dear life for me to get through my first year of college like oh my god can I just graduate already for tolerating so many counselor appointments that lead up to nothing and dumbass people like let my girl (me) free 😭😭😭

Truthfully, the updates drained me and I couldn't keep up because of the shit that has been happening as of recently. 

So I stopped doing them and even avoided doing them because I didn't have anything prepared and was too scared to keep repeating myself, "College is getting to me" "I don't got time" "I still haven't done it yet but will soon" and all that jazz. 

I felt like a broken record and doing the updates made me delay the production too so I made the mistake of doing monthly updates without thinking of it all the way through. 

Then as of recently, anxiety has really eaten me up and now I realize that it's not healthy at all to have so much of it that it affects my literal hobbies.

There's no way I'm gonna be putting up with it any longer because it's also admittedly eaten me up to the extent that I couldn't work on the comic itself for a very long time until my lovely best friend kept supporting me to do so. 

I'm still in a rough patch due to personal reasons and right now my priorities are to get through college but also help do better with my anxiety so I can function like an actual human being. The comic isn't my number 1 priority as of now as I get my life together.

SO YEAH SPEAKING ABOUT THAT COMIC—

JMC Update ✨️🕺✨️

I took a lot of time to think about the story and reflect on what I wanted to do with it. My best friend and I talked about that and where my stance was with how the story was going. 

So they gave me loads of questions so we could try to get a revamped script of chapter 1 done but the convo was literally like:

"What do you want to happen?"

".....Uh-"

BRO I DIDNT EVEN KNOWWWWWW WHAT I WAS DOINGGGGG!!!

She then continued to ask me questions, like why was I hesitant? What's each character's arc? 

My point is that they asked me loads of questions and I couldn't ever give an actual answer to any of them because I just didn't think about those kinds of questions. Like I know the reason being that at least 50% or more was because of my anxiety but also my ass just didn't know what I wanted to do with the story forward.

Those days were a struggle and I'm very thankful for her being really patient with me with the story, she's the reason I didn't give up on it and made it another one of my cancelled/lost media ahh projects.

With that in mind, JMC isn't cancelled by any means and the comic is still going to happen but... the two of us decided that a good ol 'revamp to the whole comic was needed.

Where I will start all over and create the story from scratch.

So, all of my previous updates are not canon; there's going to be new content that will come out showing the official canon material later on as the story and our progress continue.

This revised version of the story is gonna finally bring out lots of my true visions I wanted to get out in the first place.

I wasn't able to do it back then because I'm still so new to making stories (and not cancelling them-) and also I struggled a lot with my own personal insecurities which made my story fall flat and feel like it's being held back. 

I also know that I'm a huge perfectionist which has been at a real disadvantage like aw hell nah there's no way I'm gonna release the story if my friend didn't tell me to fucking redo it-

The story itself is going to be redone but I also want to say that the name, "The Jayce Myles Comics" is also a more outdated name for the story, it doesn't have a new name yet and I'm going to be changing it when the time comes but idk stay tuned for that~ 

That idea also was pitched by my friend who thought that the name should also have a makeover since it's more outdated. I agreed since the story is doing a lot more than just showing shenanigans. I know that I haven't even started the story at all (lol skill issue on my end) but I'm really glad it's already been 2 years and I can't wait for more to come.

I'm not giving monthly updates anymore and will give myself time to actually get through personal business before I could actually provide authentic updates. 

When I do come back with actual updates, they’re not gonna be like how they were before. They’re going to be more of me showing a sliver of progress (depending on how comfortable I am showing y'all) and then giving y'all that thumbs up that yes, I’m still alive and doing well with the comics. But that's it.

I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do social media wise because once again, college and personal shit. However, I will start spicing it up, trying new things and maybe show some more stuff just because (and also because I should show some stuff honestly-). 

Luckily, after this update goes up, I'm gonna be uploading a new voice skit! The voice skit was just for funsies but it finally is Jayce and Donnie related, idkkkk maybe you should check it outttt ooooooo~ 

You might get a small peek at what Jayce’s been looking like as of recently too~ (guys she's pretty...)

Anyways, that was all. Thank you for reading to the end and I appreciate your support for doing so. This story is going to happen...Or else my friend/assistant will get a hammer and make sure that I'm bonked multiple times that it leaves an indent on it- For now, I'm going to go on this semi hiatus where I'm not going to be uploading much but stuff here and there and this also will show y'all that I'm indeed still working on this rise comic. The master list is also going to be unpinned and this will take over for the time being, a new master list will be made soon but this post seems appropriate to take the pinned post for now. Stay tuned and mucho besitos~!

MONTLY MFIP UPDATE

8/13 | Month 1 | Next Month

Hey hey hey folks! Been a while, I know but we’re here now! If you’re wondering “what the fuck is this” basically I decided to take notes from my bestie @yosajaeofficial and do monthly updates for MFIP the way they do em for their story JMC so it doesn’t look like I’m dead :D (BTW Please go check out the Jayce Myles Comics, it’s gonna be a rise comic and hasn’t debuted yet but Jae’s been working super hard on it and I guarantee if you guys like MFIP, then you’ll love the JMC too so give em a follow to stay updated~)

Anywhizzle, I know I don’t update often but truth be told, I don’t usually have much publishable material. Most of the MFIP related artwork I do are usually things I can’t reveal till future chapters. They’re lore-significant and would be kinda spoilerish if I posted them before the chapters are ready so womp womp on me. All the other art I do are either for different stories, sketches, or just not things I really wanna publish at least as their own posts. I do, however, wanna show I’m not speaking out my ass so I’mma show a few of em here actually :3

First one’s like one of my favorite things ever even if it’s pretty simple. I just wanted to explore Salena’s dynamics with some of the villains and sketch em out for funsies but only got as far as Meatsweats and Kendra. Still one of the funniest shit to me ESPECIALLY the random ass beef Salena and Meatsweats have. It came out of fucking nowhere but both have accepted it as just their dynamic now. Funfact, it wasn’t even planned; I accidentally made Meatsweats the villain for chapters 1 and 3 and decided “fuck it, the bond is funny” so now they’re mortal enemies for no reason other than pure coincidence💀✨

Wanted to show this one because it’s cute and I love it. It’s one of my more recent sketches (hence the brush being changed) I did on a day I wasn’t really feeling too well and kinda craved Raph’s big-brother comfort. I might go in and actually finish this one ngl cuz it’s just really sweet to me

I also wanted to show a sneak peek at one of the chapter artworks that I mentioned earlier I cannot post yet. I’m not revealing any of the context or what chapter it’s from, but trust me y’all are in for a ride🤭✨✨✨

Alrighty, so that’s all I have for the art section. It’s not all though since I do wanna talk about the actual chapter progress itself in this next section

So, all y’all know the last chapter posted was chapter 9 and the one I’m working on currently is chapter 10. It’s got 19 pages so far in the docs but still kinda near the beginning. Chapter 9 was HUGE for me to write and I kinda think it’s the longest chapter I’ve written in general even including chapters from other stories I’ve written in the past so it really put me through a trip. I’m really happy and proud with how it turned out but it did burn me out a little so I’ve spent most of my summer break resting and regaining my energy. I’ve dabbled into other projects, other stories, AUs, etc. A lot of it was self-indulgent stuff which may still be posted on a separate account but it does mean I wasn’t progressing much with MFIP itself. I never abandoned it though or even properly stepped away from it tbh, it stayed in my mind and I kept having ideas that I added to my notes or just random brainrot I liked expanding on. It also gave me a chance to approach chapter 10 with a new lens cuz it had to be mentally reworked a few times to properly convey what I wanted it to. It’s still not fully figured out but it’s planned out in my head enough for me to ball it when writing the actual chapter itself as usual

I’ve also been working on some oneshots too! They’re kinda optional treats for anyone who wants to read em. They do have significance in the story but it’s not gonna leave you completely lost about the lore or anything if you choose not to read them. I’ll be posting at least the first one soon, I’m not sure yet cuz the order is indeed important for the timeline sake. But anywho, expect to see some of that as fun bonus content!

Now that the chapter update’s done, I did wanna talk more to you guys about writing and the story itself. I know I’ve become incredibly slow at updating the story but I do wanna reassure you guys that I still love MFIP and have a lot of passion for it, as well as working on it as hard as I can. The reason these chapters take longer is ironically because of that. I used to be able to pump out a chapter within a few weeks but those were the REALLY early days. My chapters grew to be much longer than I ever thought they’d be and they’re filled to the brim with important details and crucial moments that I can’t take out or rush without it feeling sloppy and lacking. The quality’s also increased thanks to my wonderful team editing the chapters for any typos or continuity errors and working on MFIP with as much passion as I am but that means they need to be given enough time to do their jobs properly. My love for MFIP is greater than it’s ever been and that’s saying something cuz I was quite obsessed since day one. But since there’s so much to do and I wanna be able to make the quality worthwhile, it takes me much longer to complete chapters. On top of that, there’s obviously life stuff going on too. I still have to focus on college and study for it, especially since I’m majoring in physics, and I have to take care of my mom a lot since she’s a breast cancer survivor (officially been a decade now🦾) so we got A LOOOOOOT of doctor appointments every month. It’s just our normal. I do wish there was a way I could work faster or increase the amount of hours in a day but hey, at least we’re all waiting together. I can promise you this much: if I ever decide to drop the story—which I believe is VERY HIGHLY UNLIKELY—I’ll be sure to let y’all know. I won’t ghost or randomly delete it out of nowhere someday. As far as I’m aware, I have full intent to keep this story going and keep communication clear between us :3

But yea, all in all, I think that’s all from me for this month’s update!

I hope this was a satisfying update to read (and to know the story ain’t abandoned—) and I hope next month I’ll have some cool things to show too. Maybe I’ll consider showing a written WIP next month? I’m not too sure since I usually like keeping my chapters a surprise till they’re fully done but I’ll consider it depending on how far the chapter is. For now though, I must bid y’all farewell! Jayce loved her boyfriend very much, nothing would be able to beat their love for Cameron Jonas. They had stayed up all night with Rogelio to draw and decorate her homecoming poster for Cameron. If he wasn’t going to ask her out, Jayce will do it herself! So that’s when they finally went to school the next day and asked Cameron out during lunch. Instead of being met with a warm acceptation, Jayce was yelled at, in front of the whole school. Nothing would scare Jayce more than Cameron’s hysterical eyes of horror as he screamed at her. If that’s how Jayce was going to continue their first year in high school, then so be it… Jayce Myles went home that day and cried to Rogelio.

Happy February! We’re starting off the month with Jayce’s first official break up! Sorry not sorry lolz 😍🫶

The Jayce Myles Comics: Personal Business Should Never To Be Shared With Acquaintances

Donnie was supposed to meet up with Jayce two days ago, but Jayce had postponed their meeting to a Sunday afternoon. When he gets to their usual spot, he couldn’t help but see the bandage wrapped around Jayce’s left eye. Their meeting isn’t meant to discuss about each other’s personal business, so he tries to keep everything professional. Jayce also couldn’t help but get uncomfortable at Donnie’s cold stare when she would try to talk about their plans on attacking another criminal on the loose. Donnie finally brings up her left eye, but instead of breaking her professionalism, she challenges Donnie and asks if he really wants to know. This gets him to shut up, they know that Donnie doesn’t truly care about their personal life and only wanted the documented condition of her left eye. Jayce stands up to leave the cafe but Donnie was quick to grab their wrist and softly whisper, “Stay for a minute…” This makes Donnie raise an internal question to himself, “what happened two days ago?”

WOOHOO!! THE SECOND COMIC!! I’m happy with this one since we finally see Jayce interacting with one of the turtles. The Jayce Myles Comics: A New Ally Replacing A Previous Role

There’s a certain bias that Leo tries not to show but it’s super obvious that he holds strong opinions about his new allies and such. Salena is one of those people that he’s able to read like a book so he is able to let his guard down when around them. Since Leo has his Ōdachi, he gives Salena a singular katana that he had (it was a spare one, because in the first episode his katanas are broken from the dog). Salena shows lots of potential (according to him); Jayce starts to speculate that Leo never offered a weapon to her due them not being on his “nice list”. Jayce knows damn well that Leo is only giving Salena this advantage because he holds such an explicit bias on her because Salena gave a good first impression.

HEHEHEHE. LOOOOOOORRRREEEEE (/REF) We finally got some real lore about the comic! I hope you like it because I have another one coming out soon this month, love ya guys!!!

JULY UPDATE

Hey hey hey! Welcome back to the show, “The Monthly Jayce Myles Comics Updates!” Where I give obvious monthly updates to my followers about the progress for the hit series that hasn’t debuted yet, “ROTTMNT: The Jayce Myles Comics”! Sorry I haven’t posted this month, I was hella busy with college applications and other projects, but I’m delighted to get back into these updates.

Without further ado, let’s get the show running! I have some fun things to show ya!!!

The Comic

(W.I.P OF THE OFFICIAL DEBUT COMIC)

The month was way too quick for my own good, the comic’s slow. Again, I was busy applying to college and doing other side projects I’m working on. I’m gonna be attending college next month so the comic will have its hardships but I really wanna pursue my education as well, but the updates shall continue like always with all of its fun content! Anyways, the comic: the debut has 20+ pages and my god it’s just insane on how many there are when I’m not even halfway there. I’m impressed with how many pages go by just to tell the story, older pages will be fixed up so it either might be reduced or even more but that’s for future Jae to decide; I’m learning as I go! It’s also better that I show instead of say that I’m just “working on it” since it’s easy to lie to be honest.

The turtles haven’t been seen since I haven’t got to drawing their introductions yet, I’m gonna shart in my pants because I’m scared but I’m literally an artist doing a comic so I gotta do them sooner than later. Maybe the next update you’ll see them? Don’t hold me too much onto that but it might be a cute goal to set, let me know what happened when the August update comes!

Jayce is so silly with her coat huh? She’s just a girl giving it her best, even if they thrift at the worst shop known to man (they’re gonna learn someday…) We also got Rogelio and Jayce being all cool together, I was proud of that page when first sketching it out. They both are so sweet to draw out, hope to see their finalized pages to see their true potential!

Bonus Content: Hidden City Mystical Crystals

Silly reader, you’re scratching your nose and thinking, “what am I looking at?” You’re in luck! Cuz these babies are actually additional parts about the Hidden City’s lore/magic system. Magic system? Yes, a magic system. The Jayce Myles Comics is going beyond the original canon of Rise and creating many more original concepts and combining it with what was given by the canon. I wanted to show off more of the mystics from yokai because their potential was so much cooler to finally explore when drafting the ideas.

The Hidden City’s magic system is based off of the elements, not too complicated, but has some different rules when compared to other executions of the elemental magic system. That’s for another day, I’m only gonna talk about the crystals and show what they can do. You can reference this update and look into the JMC with this cool bit of knowledge! Let’s get started >:3

Origins of the Mystical Crystals

These crystals were created based off of industrial flaws people have faced. Basically, I learned about the 1920s construction workers and their working conditions where it made me think “what would the have wished for when they worked?” I referenced from real people, history books, and my own personal experiences to create functions, and help base the crystals off of what I came up with.

The Netflix show, “Arcane” was a great inspiration to combine mystics with technology, the brand was called “Hextech” and it’s system was hella cool to me and it helped a lot when I was working on the crystal’s concepts. The mystical crystals are meant to be used as “tools to help the magic user”, where they can enhance their power, gain a temporary ability, create spells, or use in technology.

The names of them are based off of the Latin languages like, English, Italian, Spanish, and a hint of both Chinese and Korean if you squint really hard. I will go through each of the crystals in a vague manner for ya’ll to see what they can do!

Fire Magic

Fire magic is actually defined as: “The manipulation/manifestation of temperature” instead of just heat, it can be fire or ice.

LA HEILMAQ: The crystal is based off of quartz in visuals and has the glow like a moonstone! La Heilmaq is the crystal that’s used to help air conditioning in modern homes and create weapons. They’re the most natural crystal to use to create weapons since it’s form holds up so well, it’s as common as bronze in real life! They’re pretty cold to the touch, so be careful and don’t hold them for too long if you’re 1. not a fire magic user, or 2. not wearing gloves. These babies are used for more attacks than defense since they’re pretty deadly if you’ve been penetrated by the crystal itself.

EL HEILMAQ: This crystal is based off of colored glass from old alcohol bottles, tainted windows, and the power of friendship because this is the one that isn’t the most realistic looking since I made the shape up. It looks like the “BOOM!” shape for a reason~ El Heilmaq is the crystal which contains heat, it’s sealed by the actual gemstone itself so you’re able to touch with your bare hands without getting burned. The crystal can be used for restoring heat in homes, making artillery, and/or throwing them on the ground to create natural firecrackers. Most yokai use smaller bits of the crystal as distractions and the bigger pieces to help the industry by keeping their homes warm, they don’t need boiler rooms or to grab coal because El Heilmaq crystals can already do that for them without causing damage to nature.

The word Heilmaq was based off the English word “Hail” which is Ice, which is to hammer the idea that this isn’t just heat based. The word Maq is gibberish that's made to be another word for "kaboom", which brings more of the fire elements to the word itself.

Air Magic

Air magic is defined as, “The manipulation/manifestation of oxygen”!

LA SENYÁR: The crystal is based off of diamonds and emeralds! La Senyár is a crystal that helps give the air magic user more of a boost, they can crash the crystal and it gives them a boost of air so they can jump higher, dodge quicker, or just blow a gust of wind at the enemy. The crystal itself is used by technology to give it more flight, used in planes, cars, and even shoes! Yes, shoes can also have the crystal, it helps the bird yokai give them a boost to use their wings to fly. The word Senyár is a word based off of the Spanish word, “Soñar” that translates to “To Dream”; it was named this way because the way how the pressure of the air isn’t as powerful or dense, it’s like if you’re walking on clouds, it feels like a dream.

Water Magic

Water magic is defined as, “The manipulation/manifestation of water and health”

LA CANTÉM: The crystal is based off of pebbles found in rivers, ponds, and on rock beaches; there’s also influence by the topaz gemstone with it’s beautiful orange color. La Cantém is a healing crystal, where you’re able to use it on yourself to cool down injuries where it helps heal the wounds. It works both as a numbing solution and healing solution based on the water magic user. With these crystals, you always have to hydrate them in fresh water so the water can absorb into the crystal and used as energy; if it’s dehydrated, then the crystal’s will be weaker. The word Cantém is based off of the Spanish word, “Cantar” where it translates to, “To Sing”. It’s because singing can calm people down, and the crystal helps calm down the injured and lets the healing process go smoothly, it’s based off of my bestie where their singing really was like fresh water to my ears, a great inspiration for this crystal.

Earth Magic

Earth magic is defined as, “The manipulation/manifestation of nature”

EL TERÉM: The crystal is based off of an amethyst visually, and yes, inside there’s a different color! El Terém is the crystal that most fighters use in order to manipulate rocks/boulders, build stronger architecture, or create rock shields when you throw them on the floor. It’s mostly rock based but still hella good to use in battle as a defense mechanism, the rock that’s formed is sturdy too, not weak for it to break easily. Shredder would have no problems breaking it but that guy’s insane. The word Terém is inspired by the word "tear" or "contain", any interpretation rocks! (no pun intended)

Yin Magic

Yin magic is defined as, “The manipulation/manifestation of darkness”

MIE SIÑE: The crystal is based off of titanium black tourmaline and onyx. Mie Siñe is the crystal that contains shadows inside, depending on what the spell is, it either can produce shadows or fog. The usage for the crystal is much more unknown since Yin magic is banned from being used in Witchtown, but the crystal itself has been documented to be used to isolate the enemy when being used. It's also been used to cover the enemies eyes with darkness in order to distract them/become vulnerable sight wise. The word Siñe is a word based on the actual word "Sign" and "Sin", which holds a lot of significance into the story so I won't spoil.

Yang Magic

Yang magic is defined as, “The manipulation/manifestation of light”

MIE PIRE: This dear crystal is based off of the Italian onyx, magnesite, and calcite. Mie Pire is the crystal that contains light inside, any kind of light, it's not just sunlight. It's a bit more tricky and dangerous to use since you can blind yourself with it more easily, so it's also not as used. However, Yang magic is also banned like Yin, but there has still been technological uses for Mie Pire like using it as an alternative for electricity (which saves the bills!) and also used as lamps for more conservative places like Witchtown. The crystal has proved itself useful as a light source, but it can still be used as a defense mechanism by blinding the enemies eyes for a good second of even minute. The word Pire is based off of the word "Pure" which means that this crystal is very raw hence why it's dangerous. Another word it's inspired by is the Latin word "Pyra" which means "Bonfire". Both interpretations are used for this one!

The word Mie is based off of the actual Italian word "Mie" which means "My". It doesn't truly mean mine, because it's also inspired by the Spanish "Mira" that translates to "Look". It can be interpreted any way you want!

Thank you for coming to this lovely update! I've been working really hard to get the comic rolling and to also balance out my personal life with it, but I'm proud of how far I've come in the span of a year!
