Can't believe I thought of The Wizard of freaking Oz first & not this one; really, it should be a crime!
Gossip Girl: LITG edition - who is who?
I nominate either Hamish (mostly because it's funny to imagine, I want to see that man in everything), Erikah or Summer for the role as our gossip sneezer
Hi Saga! Thanks for the ask!
Yes, I loooooooove OG Gossip Girl and I have had a thought on it, though many people may not completely agree with my casting. No one is fully, exactly going to fit here but I tried to use the more affluent Islanders to cast it. I do have 'xoxo' in my drafts, but I doubt it'll ever see light of day. I put the other characters under the cut but left Blair and Serena visible. I don't think there's a perfect match for either and if I were to write this, Blair and Serena would both be OCs. Again, I don't think any Islander fully matches any of the GG characters but mostly because they're so ruthless at different times.
Blair Waldorf - Honestly, no one can match Blair. She is her own level and she's amazing, but if I absolutely had to cast her: Lexi. Lexi is so self-conscious and has a bit of low self-esteem. Though hers is her sister, Blair compares herself to Serena.
Serena Van Der Woodsen - Serena is so bubbly and captivates everyone. I would say Chelsea, but Chelsea is so much of a people pleaser that I don't think she would do a lot of the manipulating Serena did. Now it may be because I didn't do a female route in S8 but I could see Claudia being similar to Serena. She's sunshine and everyone loves her, but cross her and she won't let you forget that she could take that crown away from you before you could even comprehend.
Chuck Bass - Oh Chuck. Probably the best and worst lay of your life. Whoever could fit this super rich business guy with Daddy issues? Obviously this one is Hamish.
Dan Humphrey - Sadly, Dan is sneaky and the most manipulative of everyone and because he's a writer that wrote himself into the story...James. I hate it, too. Sorry.
Jenny Humphrey - This one was hard. I'm obviously going by personality here and not by how I have Dan casted so the Islander that fits Jenny the best and may spiral the way she did would be Jen. They both love fashion, a little edgy, have bite.
Nate Archibald - Again, I'm using affluent Islanders that would actually, possibly be apart of the UES (sorry Lewie you're not affluent). Nate is so boring to me and has no personality except for the fact that he's so perfect that he does no wrong and has this like, exceptional moral compass. He's always pushed by his parents to do things he's not really in favor of doing. Hmmm who else has that problem....Tom.
Georgina Sparks - Georgina is a whole ass mood. She's diabolical and is probably the smartest out of all of the UES. If I had to pick someone to be casted as Georgina, it would probably be Hannah. She flips a switch pretty quickly and doesn't seem to mind getting her hands dirty and pissing off that people she previously thought of as friends.
Carter Baizen - Sorry it's Eddie. I don't make the rules lmfao and I am a Carter apologist. I would have loved to see Serena end up with Carter in the end (yes, even over Nate).
Prince Louis - Youcef would so turn around and be a petty bitch. I do think Louis was actually a good guy but Blair played him the fool too many times for him to let that last one slide. Honestly? Justice for Louis because he was actually so good for Blair despite the little fit she pitched when he acted like he was just a driver on that date.
Lily - Oh come on! This one was so fucking easy. It's Juliet. I don't think I need to explain this one.
Rufus - This one was not easy. He talks about waffles a lot, but is also a good dad (okay, not always when it came to Jenny). Since he's really big into music...I don't know. I can't say Rocco, even though the hair is there, you know? Some part of me wants to say Max, but I don't know why. I think it's because I imagine that Max was similar to how Rufus was when he was young.
Eric Van Der Woodsen - I almost forgot Eric!!!!!! But he's just so special, I can't actually pick someone for him. Literally no Islander fits Eric, but I guess we can say Rohan or Tim. I just think Eric is so specific and the issues his character tackles are so important that you'd need an OC for him too.
Vanessa Abrams - In my GG x LITG universe, she doesn't exist. Bye.

Anyt thoughts you have regarding Kirk Thornton? He did Dorcas, Surtur and Yen’fay.
AH YES, I LIKE THIS ONE. THIS WILL BE FUN.
Ok I wanna start off this review with an obligatory statement I usually make whenever I open my mouth about Kirk Thornton:
Kirk Thornton catches seriously unfair flak for voicing Shadow the Hedgehog. Now Jason Griffith and David Humphrey are definitely THE Shadows for me, but Kirk actually does a great Shadow voice, he just gets constantly and horribly fucked over by outside issues, namely either the cringe-ass writing we’ve had since Colors, or the horrible audio mixing they had in Forces. But he IS a good Shadow voice.
In FEH, he does play Yen’Fay, Dorcas, Iago (under a pseudonym of Ron Allen), and Surtr. I think I’ve heard that he was only just recently credited for playing Surtr, but I’m not sure. Outside of FEH, he’s Shadow (and Orbot), Askeladd from Vinland Saga, Saix from Kingdom Hearts (haven’t played that series though), and Jubei from BlazBlue. Plus many others.
His performances are SOLID. While his role as Dorcas is pretty casual and laid-back (but still good), his other roles are absolutely outstanding in how much he gets to emote. Yen’Fay’s voice is quiet and cold while simultaneously being smooth as butter, it’s absolutely mesmerizing to listen to him talk. And his line about Say’ri is full of such denial, especially when you hear him talk about her finding good company with Chrom. Makes me think that this Yen’fay is actually the one who died in the battle with Chrom, rather than the one from the other world where he killed Say’ri instead. Iago is so much fun to listen to, his voice is just as greasy as his hair is, lol. Each line has such a high level of inflection that really drives home how narcissistic and dishonest he is; even if I don’t much care for him, he was definitely handled with good care in his art and voice. But man, SURTR. That role is the crown jewel of his performances. The raw energy he brings to the lines while he roars about burning everything in his grasp is just phenomenal, and honestly it’s so criminal how slow FEH is to give the male book villains (or any male book characters) any kind of good seasonal alt outside of the obligatory New Years alts. Pirate Surtr was probably the coolest fucking alt we had for any of the book characters; definitely not the only good one but certainly the coolest. Unfortunately the only book villain who gets any attention is Freyja, and we all know it’s only because of her big breasts. Where’s my ninja/Halloween Hel, IS? Where’s my Christmas Fafnir? Or my Valentine’s Embla? But I’ll settle for now with Surtr finally getting a much deserved alt and Resplendent, especially when the new lines and art are so badass.
I think he fits all these characters perfectly like a glove, and I would like to see more alts for Yen’fay and Surtr. And like I mentioned before, if FEH were ever going to replace Joe J. Thomas for any reason, I think Kirk would be a good replacement simply due to sounding decently similar and having not lost his energy like Joe did.
I would definitely say he has amazing range. Between his roles, almost none of them sound like he’s using the same voice, even if they all sound pretty recognizable. They’re very vastly different characters and he does an amazing job giving them different qualities to their lines.
I actually feel comfortable giving Kirk a 10/10. He’s a fantastic actor who got the perception of his acting skills screwed over by how badly his Shadow was handled. He’s definitely an actor whom I’m always happy to hear in media.

Spotted: Dan Humphrey, looking absolutely miserable, sulking through the streets of Brooklyn. It seems like our favorite *Lonely Boy* is even lonelier these days, especially after his recent break-up with none other than Roxanne Long. You remember Roxanne, right? The gorgeous, statuesque model with a heart of gold and a smile that could melt ice? Yeah, that Roxanne. And now, here Dan is, walking around like he's carrying the weight of the world on his slouched shoulders. It makes you wonder: Is he having second thoughts?
The break-up shocked everyone, but what really set tongues wagging was how it went down. One minute, Dan and Roxanne were Brooklyn’s hottest couple, and the next, we get a mass text from Dan himself, claiming he didn’t love Roxanne after all. Say what? Was that really the truth, or was there something—or someone—else pulling the strings? Sure, the text had his name attached, but it felt oddly out of character. Could Dan Humphrey, the sensitive brooder, really be that cruel?
And of course, the gossip mill started churning, with one outrageous rumor standing out above the rest. You guessed it, the rumor that we, Gossip Girl, had a hand in Dan’s shocking confession. Now, I know we can be mischievous, but come on. We would never stoop to that level. Dan’s love life is a mess on its own; he doesn’t need our help. We watch, we report, but meddling? That’s not our style. So, whatever led to that fateful message, it wasn’t us.
Still, you can’t help but wonder if Dan is starting to regret his decision. They say hindsight is 20/20, and with every somber glance, every forlorn sigh, it looks like Dan’s realizing he might’ve let a good thing go. After all, Roxanne wasn’t just a bombshell; she was the kind of girl who made him better, who got him out of his own head and into the real world. Maybe he didn’t appreciate that when he had it, but now, with her gone? It’s a different story.
Roxanne, for her part, seems to be doing just fine. She’s been spotted out and about, looking as radiant as ever. No late-night crying sessions or tear-streaked selfies for her. If she’s heartbroken, she’s hiding it well. But that only makes Dan’s misery more apparent. It’s hard to see someone thrive when you’re spiraling, and Dan? Well, spiraling might just be an understatement.
As for why Dan chose to send that mass text in the first place? That’s the million-dollar question. Was it impulsive? Did he panic? Or maybe, just maybe, he thought it was the right thing to do at the time. But now? It’s starting to look like the biggest mistake of his life. Whether or not Dan comes crawling back to Roxanne remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure: this saga isn’t over.
So, what’s next for Lonely Boy? A heartfelt apology? A desperate attempt to win Roxanne back? Only time will tell. But for now, all we can say is that Dan looks like he’s in way over his head—and he has no one to blame but himself. Stay tuned, Upper East Siders. This drama is far from finished.
XOXO, Gossip Girl

Read the full article
