Way of the Magihusband
So a bit ago I watched "Way of the Househusband" and just thought how great to do a Magi fic as a Househusband AU. (Read a year ago, but @muus-brat and I have been discussing ganster aus and got me all fired up on this again!)
The legendary Flame Emperor suddenly disappeared after a big Kou turf war. One day Ka Kobun is going around town all miserable and spies him! Only to find he now is taking being domestic to the extreme!
Casting Kouen as Tastsu was easy with that intense intimidation he has but just a softie inside. I have been hung up on who to cast as Kouen's spouse though. So anyone have a preference, please help me decide!
Muu because MuuEn being domestic would be so wholesome
Myron because her personality blends really well with Miku
Ja'far because knives notjustbcenjaismyotp >.>;;; (sorry it's been a while but I'm sure I had more reasons)
Fem!Ja because same as Ja'far except keeping the breadwinning wife aspect of the show
Feel free to reblog with propaganda!

Facts about Vladimir the Bloodsucker 馃尲
馃拰 He never really believed all the Cog propaganda against Toons; it doesn't help that always found Toons to be cute.
馃拰 Due to his fondness for Toons, he actively avoids fighting and saddening Toons when out of Lawbot HQ.
馃拰 Despite his awkwardness, he's had plenty of dating experience, they just weren't happy ones.
馃拰 He loves loves loves to cuddle.
馃拰 He loves the smell of flowers and freshly baked pies and Bluebell's fur.
馃拰 He honestly wouldn't mind going back to law again, under the condition that he does NOT work for the Cogs again. But for now, he's absolutely content with being a househusband.
馃拰 Not only does his personality glitch grant him immunity to gags (with the exception of Lure gags), but it also makes him unaffected by the Silly Meter maxing out, meaning he will not explode due to excess silliness.
馃拰 He rarely gets angry. But when he does, his Russian accent gets thicker and gradually drops the use definite and indefinite articles ("the", "an", "a").
馃拰 He also rarely curses but only does so after he hurts himself or is exceptionally angry.
馃拰 The only thing he doesn't like about Bluebell is how she often throws herself into danger. He ends up being worried sick about her.
馃拰 His envy towards his partner's bravery, strength and tenacity is due to the fact he hates how cowardly he can be. He wishes one day, he'll as strong as she is so he can save her, just like how she saves him.
馃拰 He had to convince Bluebell to get a Doodle, which is how they got Feather (my doodle on ttr)
馃拰 When wooing Bluebell, he often holds her while espousing love declarations littered with purple prose and flowery language. Bluebell absolutely loves it.

Forefront 9: Reversal and Denial of Traditional Social Concepts
Tumblr media
The release time of Incredibles 1 and Incredibles 2 is 14 years apart. This is a long time, during which Pixar has already been acquired by Disney (Associated Press, 2006). However, Incredibles 2 not only connects well to the previous work in plot, but also overturns Incredibles 1. Director Brad Bird exchanged the identities of the protagonists Bob Par and Helen Parr, and analyzed the hero's secular problems.
In Incredibles 1, due to the serious destructive power of superheroes, the government enacted a bill not to recognize the legal status of superheroes, resulting in superheroes in the world having to hide their identities. The protagonist Bob was forced to be an ordinary and unachievable clerk. His talents and ambitions were put away. Such days are torture for him. Although Bob is extremely powerful, he is also helpless in the face of reality. Such a superhero image is more realistic and close to life, and it is easier to win the empathy of the audience.
Tumblr media
Interestingly, in an interview at the beginning of Incredibles 1, Bob once said that he envied the life of ordinary people, but later when he really lived such a life, he could not accept it. In contrast, Helen showed her pursuit and ambition in the interview at the time. After the decree, she enjoyed this ordinary and even prohibited her children from using superpowers outside.
Tumblr media
In Incredibles 2, because the Parr family revealed their identity, they faced a crisis of survival. Fortunately, they have gained the attention of rich man Winston Deaver, whose wish is to help the superhero's identity become legal again. In order to achieve their goal, they chose Helen to conduct anti-crime propaganda activities.聽As a result, we see that Bob, who was secretly a hero outside of Incredibles 1, became the househusband in Incredibles 2, and his wife Helen served as a superhero image spokesperson.
I think the development of this plot has led to the social topic of Gender Division of Labor. Schnelbach also talked about the division of labor and awakening of women in the family in this film (Schnelbach, 2018).聽This reversal and contrast in the film actually shows the society's presupposition on the gender division of labor between men and women. Men are not good at raising children, and women should educate their children at home. It first throws out this proposition, and then gives a corresponding refutation.聽At the same time, on the one hand, this exchange of division of labor successfully created a joke for the film, on the other hand, it also constitutes a deeper reflection of this work.聽Bob has reacted negatively to family labor and was exhausted by it, and then finally realized the importance of family labor. Whether it is social labor or family labor, there is no difference in the value of the two. He completed his transformation.
It can be said that Bob and Helen formed a contrast with each other, and rebelled against their past self. And through some experience, the two finally reached a reconciliation with each other and themselves. Incredibles 2 not only has interesting stories and cool superpowers that appeal to children, it also involves discussions about personal values and self-awareness. The important thing is that the rebellion and reversal of traditional social concepts conveyed in the film is subtly integrated into the story, making the audience feel interesting rather than boring. I think this film is similar to the point of view expressed in my work. We are all trying to tell stories that oppose traditional social definitions in interesting ways. This film expresses serious topics in interesting stories, this aspect of preaching without letting the audience feel bored is worthy of my study.
