Home Is Where You Are | Fili x gn!reader
『••✎••』
↳ ❝ Hi can I request the prompt "It ain't home without you" with fili please? ❞
: ̗̀➛ It's your job to protect him and to keep him alive, but it isn't your job to worm your way into his heart.
: ̗̀➛ brief mentions of war and violence
•───────────────★•♛•★──────────────•
It was a lonely and cold night, and unable to get warm enough in your spot at the edge of the camp, you settled for instead heading over to the small fire where Fili was sat; in the moonlight, his pretty blue eyes looked electric.
Alight with thousands of stars that you could not see, and aflame with the soft crackling fire as it reflected the orange and yellow hues.
You sighed as you sat beside him, shuffling forward slightly so that you could rest your head on his lap; gazing up at him as he flinched for a moment at the sudden contact.
But he soon settled, relaxing and letting his hand drift to your forehead as he felt the soft head radiating from your skin. Of all of the Company, you were closest to Fili without a single doubt.
You had been with the Company since the beginning, hired by Gandalf to protect Fili and Kili and to ensure that the two brothers survived everything that was thrown at them; but what you had never expected was that you would end up becoming rather attached to one of the brothers, and that every time you looked into his beautiful eyes, you would feel like you were finally home.
You shifted around a little, almost nuzzling into his stomach as you got comfortable against him; Fili didn’t mind, although he couldn’t help but to smile.
He knew that you had a reputation to uphold, after all, you were famous throughout Middle Earth - from the Shire through to Rohan - for being essentially fearless.
A warrior so strong, you had fought in many wars, and had been decorated by your King accordingly; those who bore white flags with red crosses were terrified of you, and would cower at the mere mention of your name.
They knew who you were; the warrior with the red dragon on their breastplate and the sword made of dragon bones. The warrior who spoke a language older than Elvish, and who would stop at nothing to defend his homeland from those who carried the white banner with the red cross upon it.
The warrior who spoke the dragon’s tongue, and who had charmed their way into Fili’s heart so easily.
Fili knew your reputation, but he also knew Thorin’s words about you, as they echoed in his head every time you were close.
“Be careful of that one, those who sell their swords sell their souls along with it.”
But you weren’t like that, Fili knew that. You accepted the job because you owed Gandalf a favour, and that was all. You didn’t sell your sword at all, you were hired to fulfil the end of a favour.
That was all, and you made it incredibly clear that you would never accept another job offer of the same or similar calibre again.
But Fili’s uncle’s words weighed heavily upon his shoulders, even if you did feel like home every time you were close to him; even if the soft warmth of your forehead felt the same as coming home to a familiar bed.
He knew, though, nothing could or would ever come of it.
You wriggled a little, humming softly to yourself for a moment. “Fili?”
He nodded, a soft thrum coming from the very back of his throat as he lazily looked down at you. “Yes?”
“Is it odd that I feel like it ain’t home without you?” You asked quietly, all but twiddling your thumbs as you stared up at him so gently, your gaze all too soft on him.
But he shook his head, daring to lick his lips as he tilted his head slightly to the side. “No… in all honesty and truth, I can’t help but to feel the same - I feel as if the softest of touches from you is the same as coming back to my own bed.”
You could only smile as you let out a quiet yawn, stretching ever so slightly. “And what about your uncle? Thorin doesn’t exactly seem all that keen on me.”
Fili shrugged as he dared to smile back, slowly shaking his head. “Allow me to handle Thorin. I can deal with him, I can convince him that you are not what he thinks you are.”
You frowned a little, swallowing thickly and hoping that he didn’t see how you were struggling to get through to it. “But how confident in that are you, exactly?”
“Very,” Fili nodded, daring to grin at you as he gently stroked your cheek. “As long as you are my home, I will be yours, and I will do everything I can to convince my uncle that we belong together.”
Struggling to sit up, you rolled your eyes when he laughed at your efforts before pulling you onto his lap; letting you straddle his waist as he rested his hands on your thighs and tilted his head to the side, humming ever so softly. Gently, he ran his hands up and down your thighs.
“Tell me that I am yours,” he whispered softly. “And I will tell you that you are mine.”
You nodded, clasping your hands behind his neck as you stared at his mouth for a moment. Your voice coming out as a mere whisper. “I am all yours, Fili.”
“And I am yours,” he murmured gently, his hands trailing up so that one rested on your middle and the other rested at the back of your neck. All too tempted to pull you in closer. “Always.”
“Always,” you repeated. “Are you sure you don’t want my help with confronting Thorin?”
Fili nodded slowly, licking his lips as his gaze dropped to your mouth. “I might need you to keep me alive.”
“That’s my job,” you laughed gently. “Isn’t it?”
He laughed along for a moment, but when you leaned in slightly, he could not help but to close the distance. His kiss was so soft and tender, and when you kissed him back, you could not deny: you were home.

Can I request
Hobie x fem reader
The reader tries to keep Hobie a secret from her toxic family but Hobie ended up meeting them.
Thank you ❤️
Family Business
Hobie x fem!reader
Warnings: swearing, toxic family, angst, Hobit is a flirty bastard..., a bit of insecurity, Hobie tries to help you rebel cause that's what he does..., Mr. Hobart Brown is now a life coach...
A/N: I'm with you on this one, I wouldn't want him to meet some of my family. This became a lot longer than anticipated...
Sometimes it was a little exhausting keeping Hobie from your family. You tried not to be around your family at all, but sometimes it was unavoidable.
"Hey, Hobie?" You walk into the kitchen where Hobie was making lunch. You wring your hands anxiously. "My family is coming over so... Could you not be in the apartment tomorrow? I'm sorry its such late notice..."
"Oh?" He questions, turning to face you. "What's the occasion?" A wide grin pulling at his lip, eyes sparkling. He's never met your family, he finds himself intrigued by them though. Are they really that bad? "Sure. I'll find something to do." Hobie shrugs, it must be important if you're asking him to leave.
"They just decided they wanted to pop in. I just found out and they'll be here tomorrow afternoon." You sigh, a bit relieved that he was so understanding. "I'm really sorry."
"It's no big deal." Hobie reassures you with a smile. "Do they give you trouble or something?" He raises an eyebrow, concerned.
"Ah, well, yes..." You shrug lightly. "Mostly if they saw you, it'd be a whole thing." You make 'blow up' gestures.
"Oh, like a 'No Boys, Ever!' kina thing?" He asks, a bit of sarcasm in his tone. He chuckles a little, glancing down at you.
"No. No." You shake your head and frown slightly. "More of a 'why are you with this gorgeous man, you must be paying him' kinda thing and then it'll blow up, and..."
"Are you saying I'm too good looking for you?" Hobie queries, nudging your shoulder.
"You were a runway model, so yeah."
"Hey, I had to pay my rent somehow. They'll be up in your business about it, huh? I can handle that. No need for me to leave unless it'll make things harder for you."
"Believe me, once they see you and start asking questions, you'll wish you hadn't stayed."
"You can't be serious... They're not that shallow and superficial, are they?"
"Dead serious."
"Do you usually let them pressure you into doing things their way? Because if so, I think this is the perfect time for you to draw a hard line and not bend to their will. It could be good for you."
"I don't follow their rules anymore since I don't live with them, but if they knew that..."
"Would they disown you?"
"No. They'd keep me from seeing the family I actually do want to be around. If they knew about you, well... Are you prepared for them to accuse you of being in it for money? For only being here because I'm paying you?"
The words hit Hobie like a slap to the face, his eyes go wide as he absorbs what you've said. That's their first reaction? Why? What kind of family would ever consider saying something like that?
"So what... They think you're alone...? Single and celibate?"
"Uh... Yeah, yep." You confirm.
He's at a loss for words. This is... absurd. There are no words to describe how Hobie feels right now. How he feels about your parents, the situation you're in.
"You're family is f-" He starts, but quickly corrects himself. "Insane."
"Say it with your chest." Encouraging him to say whatever he wants.
He doesn't want to upset you, but this... this doesn't sit right with him. "Your parents are fucking crazy." He utters, glaring at the ceiling. His anger only seems to grow. "How could someone like you come from that? Who do they think they are controlling you? Dictating who you date, who you sleep with, if you can live your like freely? Have you ever thought about cutting them out of your life?"
"Pure luck?" You jest, trying to cheer him up with a joke to his first question. "I've thought about cutting them off, but that'll cut ties with family I do want to see."
Hobie snorts at your little joke, but he loses the small smile as you continued. "Still. You shouldn't have to do that. I mean, do you let them dictate the rest of your life? The way you look, they way you act, who you love?"
"Considering you're here... Absolutely not, but under no circumstances am I putting you in their line of fire." You answer quickly, shaking your head slightly.
"I can handle it." He replies with a shrug. He says that, but you know the thought of being in front of your family makes him uncomfortable. He was ready to do it for you though. That alone speaks volumes about how far he'd go to help you. "Your family can't keep getting away with controlling your life like this... What are you going to do? Just let them push you around for the rest of your life? Let them manipulate you into doing whatever they want?"
"What will pushing back accomplish? It'll cut me off from family."
"How is doing nothing better? You're just letting them walk all over you and control you like a puppet! Don't you want your life back?"
"It's not that simple."
"Life is never easy. Some people are luck, but others - like us- are born into difficult circumstances. But that doesn't mean we have to let the hardships stop us from living. Maybe it's not simple. Maybe it means making difficult decisions, taking a stand, or fighting for what we want. But we can do that - we have to."
🎸⋆⁺₊⋆♱🕷♱⋆⁺₊⋆🎸
It'd been a month or so since that night, but you'd blocked your parents on everything. Now you felt more comfortable sharing your personal life, and Hobie. You had fought like hell to get to this point, but you did it. It was one hell of a victory to win and you celebrated.
At first you took your freedom for granted, maybe you still do. No matter what, you knew there was no going back. You were free and planned to stay that way.
You wandered together beneath the hot London sun, through the concessions during a Spider-Man festival, you found it a bit humorous since the man behind the mask was holding your hand. Hobie's mood is contagious, you find yourself smiling as well. How could you not? Everything is so energetic, everyone is so excited and in good spirits, ready to have a good time.
"Do you ever feel weird about all this?" You ask as you weave through the throngs of people. "People throwing festivals and stuff in your honor but having no clue it's you?"
"Honestly?" He answers with a soft laugh. "Sometimes, yeah. I never really get used to it. People are obsessed with Spider-Man, so when they start acting like complete geeks over him, it makes me feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone or something. I'd never complain about it though." He wraps his arms around your shoulders, pulling your back against his chest as you stand in line. "Especially if it means seeing you smile like this..."
"Cheesy bastard..." You huff playfully, wrapping your hands around his forearms.
"Damn right I am." He cackles, pulling you closer. "Admit it! You love my lame puns and bad one-liners. You can't get enough of them!" He dips his head down and kisses you, lingering for a moment. He's not done flattering you though. "See? You're addicted to me..."
You laugh, opening your mouth to start denying everything. "Y/N?" You hear a familiar voice call and you freeze. Hobie pulls his head back, immediately picking up on your discomfort. He pulls you impossibly closer, searching for the source of your anxiety. He finally spots it. A stranger, well to him at least.
"Do you know her?" He whispers, still holding you close.
"That's my mom..." You mumble. You turn away from her, hoping she didn't see you.
"What do you think she wants?" He asks in a rushed whisper. "How do we deal with this?"
"I wish you could turn invisible..." You mutter, trying to think of something.
Before Hobie even has a chance to think of a response, your mom is right in front of you. "Y/N!" She cries, pulling you out of Hobie's grasp and into a big hug. "You're so skinny! You're not eating enough, that explains why we haven't heard from you in weeks!" Her eyes flicker over to Hobie as she lets go. "Who the hell are you?"
"This is Hobie... My... um..." You try, but Hobie doesn't like labels. There's no word to really describe your relationship.
Hobie immediately picks up on your issue, his eyes narrowing in contemplation. "We're together. An item..." He answers, a bit hesitant but firm.
"An item? You can't even tell me what your relationship actually is?" Your mom asks, smiling almost smugly. "So... She's paying you?"
"Paying me?" Hobie grits, looking at you before shooting your mother a glare. He's livid, grabbing your waist and pulling you back against him. He can't believe she'd say something so underhanded and insidious.
"Oh please." Your mother rolls her eyes. "Like you'd ever go for someone like my daughter without some sort of payment."
Hobie's anger nearly boils over; he's ready to get in your mother's face and start screaming. Instead, he takes a deep breath and speaks calmly, his voice dripping with sarcasm and spite. "What do you want from us, lady? An apology? An explanation? Because I'm not apologizing for loving your daughter and I don't owe you a damn thing."
"Loving my daughter?" Your mom laughs snidely. "Look at her. You could have anyone and you 'picked' her?"
Hobie's anger gives way to confusion as your mother's cruel words register. How could someone be so heartless? Who says something like that about their own child? As though you were some sort of object - an object that isn't worth any sort of love. "You have no idea what you're talking about so why don't you keep your mouth shut?"
"Excuse me?" Your mom glares daggers at Hobie.
"Did I stutter? Is your hearing okay?" Hobie snaps, his tone venomous. His jaw clenched with anger, he doesn't care what your mother thinks of him. He wants nothing more than to tear her apart, but he holds himself back. Refusing to stoop to her level.
Your mother huffs angrily and stomps away, you finally relax against Hobie's chest. "You didn't have to do that..."
"Yes, I did." He replies, frowning. He can still feel the residual anger and hatred radiating from him. "I'd do it a hundred times over if it meant protecting you. No one - and I mean no one - is going to talk to you that way while I'm alive. No one."
You turn in his arms, wrapping your own around his waist in a tight hug, hoping to relieve some of his anger. Hobie immediately accepts, pulling you closer. For a moment all he can do is hold you, breathing in the sweet smell of your hair. His grip tightens around you, his anger fading away. He rests his head against your head, eyes closing as he keep ahold of you.
"Did you mean what you said?" You mumble into his chest, your voice slightly muffled.
He goes still, pondering your question. "Of course I did. Why wouldn't I?" His voice is calm and soft. "It's the truth. I won't let anyone treat you that way." Hobie kisses the top of your head, his voice filled with determination.
"Not that." You laugh, shaking your head. "You said you 'wouldn't apologize for loving me...' Did you mean it?"
"Oh. That." He pauses for a moment. "Um... Yeah. I meant it."
"That's good." You nod thoughtfully. Hobie seems a bit anxious, waiting for you to reciprocate. "I love you too."
After a few seconds, a smile breaks out on his face. He leans down and presses his lips to yours - a gentle show of affection.

high pt.2
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader
Rating: a little angst, fluffy
Summary: you deal with the aftermath of Bucky getting high, and reminding him what happened.......
reade part one!: here / tags under the cut!
Waking up to Bucky was a sight, a wonderful sight. His mouth was slightly agape, and hair tussled. There were no worry lines in his forehead, no worrys about a nightmare, just peace, serenity. His arms were wrapped tightly around you, while his head lead just below your breast. Everytime you tried to move and get up, he would tighten his arms. It wasn’t to hurt you, just to keep you in place. You knew he would need medicine for his headache he was bound to have.
You finally got free from his grasp and made you way to the kitchen to get it. While you were there, you started the coffee pot, and poured him a glass of water. You’d start breakfast once he was awake. Walking back into the room, medicine and water in hand, Bucky was trying to sit up, with a groan.
“Hey bubba, how’re feelin’?” He didn’t answer you, just made more grabby hands. You walk over, sit on the bed next to him, and let him fall onto your lap. You started to stroke his hair, scratching occasionally. “I feel like shit, why did you let me do that?” You giggled at his annoyance. Truthfully, you didn’t know why you let him get high. Maybe it was to get him to relax?
“I’m sorry Buck, I thought you might enjoy it, mind you I was also intoxicated so I wasn’t thinking straight” You said with a frown. He didn’t reply, he was to lost in you carding your fingers through his hair. He started to fall asleep, you knew he needed to get up and eat. You dreaded waking him up, “Bubs? James? Hey, you gotta get up.” Another groan. “No, gonna stay here.” Oh lord (inster eye roll)
“If you get up, I’ll make you breakfast, and coffee.” He perked up at you negotiation. I mean, you were going to anyway but, he didn’t need to know that. He finally agreed to get up as long as he got bacon with his breakfast, and as much coffee as the super soldier could stand.
While cooking breakfast you quitely played your new playlist, you’d normally played in the depths of the night but, the soft songs seemed appropriate for this morning. You swayed to the beat if ‘Puzzle Pieces’ by Saint Motel, and you felt a pair burning a hole in your back side. You didn’t know how to bring up the conversation from last night. Did he even remember? Let alone mean it?
You ponder those thoughts as you both sit down at the island. “So, uh, you remember anything from last night?” Jesus Y/N way to be blunt. He stopped eating, and put his head down. He cleared his throat, “Uh, yeah, mostly..” Great, great so he remembered. That’s uh, great.
“I meant it. Every word.” That made you choke on your coffee. God, how were going to respond to that? Confess every feeling you’ve ever had for the man? or keep it low key and be like, yeah same? God Y/N you’re one of the smartest avangers, think for gods sake!
“Bucky, I’ve been in love with you the moment you said, “you know, I read the hobit when it first came out, in 1937.” You did an awful impression of him but, he laughed none the less. You joined his giggle, never wanting leave this harmonius moment. You ate your breakfast, and cuddled on the couch, as if it was a normal day. Just as it was meant to be.
6 months later
Fast forward to now, you don’t use weed to cope. You don’t lean on it for support, because you’ve got a new wall to lean on, Bucky. The love of your life. Sure, sometimes you got high and most timed you could convince Buck to do it with you. He told you more and more about himself, and processing his feelings until he flipped the switch and got, uh well- uuum seductive. He would whisper Romanian in your ear, and touch you in places you’ve never been touched before. During your intimite moments, he reached depths into your soul, and he let you peer into his. He would grasp you tightly as if you would dispear, and give you gentle touches to bring you back. You always reciprocated those touches, knowing he got lost sometimes too.
When it came to dates, you never really planned but always kept it lowkey. Bucky liked to have quiet picnics in the field by the compound, or go on a walk at sunset. He liked to go to the little cafe down the street in the mornings with you and have your “morning moment” as Bucky liked to call it. Not long after you got togetherm you decided to move out of the compound. Bucky wanted a place to feel like home, he wanted you to feel at home.
“Bubba, home is where ever I’m with you.”
A/N: aaaahh I don’t know how to end things so.... here^^

Another Day
Jungkook x Reader
Page 3
"Wow you sure had a better first day than me" May chuckled while eating the cafeteria's lunch" I swear if I have to sit through one more class with little miss Yuna I'll drop out and become a stripper" she pinched the fork on her food angrily
“That bad?” You laughed
"Oh mister James is this going to be critical for the midterms?" She said in a high pitched-annoying- tone while playing with her hair " Do you need any water mister James? Maybe a bit of coffee to wake you up?" She continued
"Hey I mean she's just trying to be nice to the professors to get better grades, everyone's been there"
"Like hell she is. You didn't see her face. If mean girls had a spin off in our collage she would be the Regina one 100%" she made a pause as she looked at something behind you. her expression very questionable.
You turn around and try to find what was so interesting to look at. Just a bunch of 20 year olds chewing on average tasting lunch. But then you notice what everyone was staring at. The tall student from your class. No back pack, just a tall stylish posture and a long chain piercing hanging from his right ear. He was indeed a sight. For a second you made eye contact, his round eyes caught you off guard, so you turn around quickly.
“Now that's what I like to see.." May raised her eyebrows "Where was he all my life?" She said in a playful tone
You flashed a cheeky smile " We take Science history together" you teased May.
Her eyes widened " Please don't tell me he's the Einstein hater??!"
You laugh "Yeahh"
"Y/N you have officially won collage, just to look at that every morning is a blessing" she rested her head on her hand while exhaling
"Not really my type" you shrugged and continued eating your food.
May stared at you up and down with a judgmental look before softly placing your palm in between hers. A concerning look on her face. "Look, y/n... it's perfectly fine to be honest with me. I mean, we've been best friends for as long as I can remember-And well I just.... I want you to be honest with me"
“May was there something wrong with your food?" You raised an eyebrow
"You have to tell me the truth... are you a lesbian?"
You chuckled. Classic May. "Ohh yes m'lady" you kiss the back of her palm " I've been trying to tell you for so long... I'm in Love with you!!" You jokingly caressed her right cheek.
"Am I interrupting...?" A manly voice questioned.
You turn your head to be greeted with a bright faced man, carrying a couple of his book in one hand. His aura was comforting, and his smile contagious.
"Oh Hoseok, Hi!" May moved a bit to the left, making room for the man to sit. "Here, sit"
You eyed May, a signal meaning 'What's going on? Is this someone you like? Are we interviewing him? What's the status?' She knew your facial expressions all too well. She awkwardly smiled as the man was trying to figure out what to say.
“Y/N, this is Hoseok, Hobi for short"
"Nice to meet you" he gave you his hand to shake.
"Hey.. nice to meet you too"
"Hoseok and I are taking advanced Econ together. I made fun of his name because it reminded me of The Hobit. So naturally, we became friends!" They both laughed.
"Interested in business?" You asked
"Yeah... something like that" the man looked down smiling before jerking his head up quickly "Oi Jungkook, over here" he waved at his friend
You turn around to meet the oh so familiar tall dark figure walking towards your table. You stay in place, not moving a single muscle.
"Sup?" He answered to Hoseok, while eyeing you and May. "I thought we were gonna eat with Taehyung hyung?"
How rude. You couldn't care less about it. But still, manners?
Hoseok made an awkward grin "Taehyungs busy... you know."
"I swear work will kill that man" he rolled his eyes and sat down at the empty space next to you.
"Don't joke about that" Hoseok barked.
An obvious awkward silence between you four. You could see people -mainly girls- glaring at your table.
"Soo....." you break the silence "Not a big fan of Einstein, huh?"
The man didn't face you, he did smile tho, and swallowed his food "Not a big fan of minding your own business, huh?"
Clearly, May and Hoseok were dumbfounded. And so were you. A loud 'Excuse me??' Was your internal thought. But your outside remained silent.
"He's on his period, please understand" Hoseok chuckled.
Jungkook gave him an intense glare before he continued eating, un bothered.
"No worries" You smile and slightly roll your eyes. You friendly pat Jungkook's shoulder "Don't worry, once they find the cure for being an annoying know-it-all you'll be the first to know."
You expected him to show some kind of reaction. But instead he turned his head completely towards your direction . It's the first time you clearly see his face, probably inspired by some Greek God. His eyes slowly moving from your lips towards your eyes. You swear your heart skipped a bit when you made eye contact. Sometimes you see someone, and even though you never liked brown eyes before, their eyes are your new favorite color.
He smiled "This ones got an attitude. I like it"

Shielded. Chapter Three
Anonymous said to imagineclaireandjamie:
Trojan horse.
Week 1(War and Peace)i:
Monday came around quickly. The amount of sleep she had managed to achieve felt like something of an accomplishment considering what little else there was for her to do.
Feeling brave she gathered herself up and began an exploration of her new home. She recalled the features that Jamie had detailed to her on the Saturday morning before she’d fallen into a light coma for the next 30 odd hours. First, she started with the basement. Recalling the moment in Home Alone where Kevin had been forced to face his own below-ground nemesis, she took the steps carefully, the popular scene repeating over and over in her head until she actually came face to face with a harmless looking space.
As described, there was a washing machine and a dryer -the funnel used to expel the warm air from the back leading up and out of a tiny window near the ceiling- as well as several boxes stacked high in the corner. With not much else to view, she noted the cupboard which contained all the powders and conditioners she’d need and returned to the kitchen.
She’d never really been into cooking before, but despite this she thought the massive aga with its shiny maroon front looked extremely professional. It was, however, so clean she didn’t think it had been used much before. With Jamie working odd and long hours, she presumed it was more likely that he lived on cold snacks and microwave meals.
Looking in the large American-style fridge, she found an assortment of basic produce. What looked like a bottle of unpasteurised milk (most likely bought in himself) and some homemade butter lay in the door alongside a batch of freshly laid eggs. It all seemed fairly self-replacing and she smiled at the idea that one could live completely unaided in the middle of the Highlands if you knew how (or lived with someone else who did).
The freezer, as she expected from inspecting the contents of the fridge, contained a whole host of bagged and sealed meats - enough protein to keep a whole family afloat for months.
Closing the door, she pulled a stack of post-it notes from her pocket and penned a reminder. Seeing all the produce he’d got neatly tucked away reminded her of her teenage years.
Having lost her parents young, she had grown up travelling the world with her uncle and along the way she had gathered herself some producing and growing skills, mainly vegetables and greens, but useful nonetheless. Aiming to reinvigorate her knowledge of horticulture, she wrote:
“Ask about potential vegetable patch/greenhouse…CB”
Placing it on the front of the fridge, she admired the initials she’d signed off with. It hadn’t clicked until she’d come to the end that she could no longer refer to herself with her maiden name and she had hovered over the ‘C’ for longer than normal before sighing and signing with her new pseudonym instead.
Mentally exhausted from overthinking two small letters, she poured herself a glass of water from the tap and continued through into the lounge where she’d sat only hours before with her initial guardians.
It seemed larger and brighter now she actually had the time and a little more energy to view it.
The fireplace was extensive and contained a series of photographs in expressive frames. They must, she thought, have been set up there by someone else.
The first was of a group of young children. Ashamed, she felt badly that she couldn’t pick her host out of the line up. His face and features were still hazy, the only signifier she could recall was the mop of bright red hair that sat atop his head and possibly blue eyes...though she could have been mistaken.
Looking harder, she tried to squint, hoping that might clue her in as to which of the children was Jamie. Giving up, she carried on along the line, smiling as the young girl turned into a young woman. It must be his sister, she pondered, touching the tip of the frame as she looked over the wedding photos. The dress was stunning, the groom looking favourably over at his new bride whilst the crew in the background threw confetti in the air above them.
Picking out Jamie, she noticed his tight smile and high cheekbones. She felt relieved, having not been able to determine who he was in the earlier line-up had made her instantly abashed but at least somewhere in the back of her mind she’d had the forethought to note his defining features in her tired haze.
Towards the back of the ground floor she found a small sitting room. It contained the TV and some rather large overfilled bookcases and looked out over the small garden to the rear. Although she knew she wasn’t supposed to leave the house, she enjoyed -for a moment- sitting on the arm of the chair and looking out across the fields. The sun was still low in the sky and the wind was blowing the long grass gently whilst clouds occasionally masked the sun from view.
The space was enclosed with a waist high stonewall along the top which ran from an outhouse building, to a gate and then on to a covered open-shed arrangement. To the right and behind the shed was a row of rather tall trees. These captured her attention for several minutes as she watched the branches sway and the birds flit in and out of the woodland area. She could almost smell the scent of the spring day and taste the pollen on her tongue as she leaned closer to the window.
It was there she sat for several hours before her stomach growled angrily, reminding her of how little she’d eaten over the weekend.
Making herself a quick sandwich, she wrote out a ‘thank you’ post-it before returning back to her room. She knew Jamie probably wouldn’t be home for a while but the chime of the clock as she’d cleaned up her plate had made her suddenly nervous, as if she couldn’t quite bring herself to make idle conversation yet, and she’d escaped just in case he came home out of the blue to check she was alright.
As it stood, though, he hadn’t and didn’t arrive home until well into the evening. The sun had already begun to set as she put down her kindle at the sound of the door opening and closing.
She knew it was dinner time and the afternoon had passed so quickly that she had barely looked up since she’d returned to her room. Glancing out of the window, she watched the birds fly across the inky blue sky, the orange hue slowly fading as late afternoon turned into evening. Warring with herself, she argued over going down, her mind compromised by her unwillingness to seek out company. She would, after all, have to succumb at some point - it would be rude not to.
Having some form of sixth sense on the matter, Jamie appeared to understand her a little more than she did herself, and for the next few days he allowed her time to adjust and settle.
He would come home at a normal time and, instead of crowding her, he prepared supper, placed hers in the microwave, and then placed himself in the study until bedtime. By the middle of the week she had become accustomed to this routine and would often wait for him to close himself in his own quarters before sneaking back downstairs to eat herself.
As this progressed, her post-it notes become more frequent and she would often add small doodles with large smiley-face stickman on them. Jamie found these endearing, it had been a long time since he’d had anyone else living in the family home and it was a nice surprise to find that he enjoyed it - even if it was only the small noises of Claire moving about that clued him in as to her presence. Stashing the notes in the back of his jeans pocket, he began to collect them, placing them on the pin-board in his small office as he did so.
By the end of the day on Friday he had managed to arrange them into ‘thank you’ notes and ‘question’ notes and had created a set of his own which he aimed to place on the fridge for the following morning. All of these were answers to her queries. Intrigued by her idea for a vegetable patch in the yard, he had returned that specific ask with a list of items he’d ordered from locals and friends which he aimed to have ready for the weekend - this was the one he was most proud of.
“Wire and mesh for coverings, 4 X wooden planks for a raised surround, fertile soil, seeds, glass sheeting to be cut in prep for greenhouse, assorted spring veg selection...JF”
That had been left on Wednesday and he was chuffed to return home in the evening to find a rather large spaghetti bolognaise aside his newest ‘thank you’ note.
Having made the bolognaise she had shyly returned to her room, the message hidden away in her pocket as she’d sat at the desk for the evening to research plant and vegetable growth extensively. There hadn’t been many evenings in her old life where she’d had the time to process alone, and so even though she knew her hobiting away time was coming to an end, she was grateful to have been allowed the week to relax.
Through the use of notes, she had built herself a mental picture of Jamie and his personality. He, at the beginning of the week, had left her meals and then absconded so that she could eat alone, but by the end of Friday their roles had been reversed as she felt he shouldn’t have to take care of her when he’d been out at work all day. She didn’t have a large cooking repertoire, but there were plenty of cookery books hidden in one of the cupboards and she’d taken to reading them to pick out the easier looking recipes to trial.
There had been some mistakes. Some burned pasta (which she hadn’t known to be a possibility until she’d achieved it) but overall it hadn’t been too traumatic.
Peeling open her book, she pulled the post-it -which had now lost most of its stickiness- and ran her fingers over the text. She couldn’t deny how excited she was over the prospect of a garden of her own. The overwhelming thoughtfulness of it was helping to coax her out of her bedroom and she resolved to use the weekend to thank him in person.
As much as she was revelling in their silent, written communications, there was little chance she was (or should be) able to avoid total human interaction for the next 11 weeks. He was going above and beyond for her, changing his own habits whilst she reassessed her life -something few others, she thought, would do for a complete stranger.
With her decision made, resolved to be more social in the morning, she curled up under her duvet with her newest book. Before she knew it, the words were bleeding together, her eyes struggling to remain open as she fell into a dreamless sleep.

The Great Unknown
Part 24
Pairing: Thorin x Reader, mentioned Robin Hood x Regina Mills
Words: 4022
Warnings: Mention of murder, dead people, bad language.
Crossover of The Hobit and Once Upon a Time!
All the parts of The Great Unknown!
You ran silently towards burning Laketown, your heart in your stomach. There was no sight of Smaug anywhere, and the two elves had confirmed that they didn't see or hear any big animal, or creature for the matter, in the sky that could have lit the town on fire. So, either the dragon was already dead, or the town had been set on fire by someone else. But who had done it exactly was still unsure for the trio.
The last twenty minutes or so felt like eternity. And when you finally got to the road that led to the town on water, you could see dead orcs and men lying on the wooden road on water. You quickly counted five dead men and one woman, and six orcs. All dead, their lifeless bodies laying face down on the water or staring to the sky above on the wooden road, not seeing anything. And after seeing the lifeless bodies, something sifted in you, clenching your heart.
This was, no doubt, an orc raid. But why? Because of your friends? Had the dwarves been here, and by accident, led the orcs here? Or had the orcs lost the sight and track of your friends and thought that they had escaped in the Lakedown, killing everyone on their way and set the town on fire?
You were still a leopard as you walked the burning streets of Laketown. There were no soul in this town. No screaming, crying, pleading of help to be heard. Nothing but the cracking of fire or the burning woord craking and finally giving up, collapsing down. You didn't know these people living in this town, yet you felt your heart beating harder, clenching like someone was holding it in his hand and squeezing it with all their might. They might be all dead, for all you knew. Some of them might have managed to escape, but where? There were few dead bodies of men, women and even children, and orcs here and there, but not as many as you might have expected. And then Tauriel stopped and motioned you and Legolas to stop. And you did.
And then you saw him. A male, standing alone on street, staring at something ahead of him, yet hidden from your sight. And then the wind carried his fainth smell to your nose. And you took a shaky breath.
"Impossible" you said with a shaky voice, taking a step towards this person. Legolas and Tauriel lowered their eyes to you, seemingly understanding what you had just said. And before neither of them could ask you anything, you bolted towards this man. And when he noted that something was running towards him, you let the magic sircle you, change your form. And little by little your running slowed as your steps from leopard turned into a human's.
"Grandpa!" you finally shouted and then the males face fell as he recognized you, his face showing multiple emotions in few seconds. And yet he opened his arms, keeping his walking stick on his other arm. And you ran to his arms, sirckling your hands around his middle, sob leaving from your lips as tears started to fall down from your eyes. And he closed his arms around you, his wooden walking stick touching your back like it always would when he hugged you. For the first time in ages you felt like you were home. This, this simple hug, was the closest thing you knew for safest place and what was nearest you could ever call home.
"Oh my little singing bird, I thought we had lost you for good" the older man cried, pressing his nose to your dirty hair. The two elves got closer to you, knowing that this man was good - with bad history, but still good. They could see his fea, which was now brighter with a memory of its darker days, what were now gone forever. And the fact how you acted after seeing him, they knew he was important to you. And Legolas knew, that with this man's help, he could help his cousin regain her memory. And just as they got closer to them, this man lifted his eyes to them and the young girl turned her buffy, teary eyes to them.
"It's OK" you reassured the older man, to calm the situation. "Grandpa, meet my friend Tauriel" the red headed nodded to the human "and my ... err... might-be-cousin Legolas" the blond nodded his head and was ready to have earfull or defend himself from this human. But, instead, he got an nod from this man. "Tauriel, Legolas, meet a man and powerfull sorcerer from Stoorybrook, my grandfather, Rumpelstiltskin, or Rumble for a short" And just then did Legolas and Tauriel truly understand. He was her kind, an human from another world. Her kin, a person she trusted, probably even more than she trusted to the two of them.
Legolas took a step towards them, put his hand to his heart and bowed a little. And when he rose to meet this man's eyes, he could see understanding, the same passion to want to protect someone he cared about.
"I know now isn't the best of the times, but we have a lot to discuss about her" Legolas said, nodding towards you. Rumble looked a little down you, a faint of an smile on his lips. Then he turned back to Legolas.
"Indeed there is. But, I believe we have more important things at hands. A group of orcs attacked this town, and while myself and my companion's were able to take them all down with the townsfolk, alongside with their leader - if the biggest one of them was suppose to be their leader - we have no idea why they attacked" Rumble answered. Legolas nodded and then he turned to look around them, looking for the dead orc. When he turned back to Rumble, he turned to one of the roads. "The biggest one is dead just behind that building. Two of our best warriors took it down. And few of our women took the townsfolk safe to our town, Stoorybroke"
A relief ran in the three travellers. Most of the townsfolk were safe. "Altought these people fought hard, I... Well, I believe their leader died while he tried to save his gold and other richess. I believe he even got rid of few of his workers in order to save the gold" You grimaced and Legolas' and Tauriel's faces turned grimm. The leader of this town would really put richess above his workers and the people who lived in here. That was just disgusting and disrespecful. It wasn't right to think, that it was a good thing that he was dead, but still, you couldn't help but think that he had deserved it.
"The orcs were chasing down a group of dwarves, who are friends of (Y/n)'s. She and the dwarves were trespassing in on our lands, and the dwarves were taken as prisoners. Back then we did not know of her existence. As the dwarves told us, they had lost sight of (Y/n) at somepoint in the forest and they had been ended up apart from each other. Myself and Legolas found her just today, when the dwarves escaped from our dungeon and were chazed down by these orcs" Tauriel tells to Rumble, who in turn frowns and nods.
"Our home, the forest you can see afar, is surrounded by magic that can confuse one's mind. I am not exactly sure why that is, but if I have understood it correctly, it is because of our oldest enemy's dark magic" Legolas answers to Rumble's unasked question. Rumble swallows and nods.
"I believe this strong enemy of yours is currently somewhere in the forest. I can feel dark, one of the most malice-like bearing somewhere in there. Not close to us, but still, it is in there. And I can feel powerfull light in there, not like sun in the sky, but a light of ones heart. Her power shines brighter than any light has shone directly to my eye. I wonder how powerfull her light would be, if she stood right next to me?" Rumble says, while staring at the far of the forest, where he had been staring before meeting the three of you. While Legolas and Tauriel exhange worried looks, you look up to your grandpa, horrified. Then you turned to look at the forest. You knew what was in that direction, and just what kind of an enemy had been keeping an fortress in the old ruins in the forest.
And then you swallowed. That was where Gandalf had went before you stepped into the darkness of Mirkwood, that was where Thorin's father had been held captive all these years, and that was where the old dwarf had died. That was where your possible father-in-law had died. Your face fell even more as you thought of Thorin, who had been looking for his father all those years, keeping some kind of hope in his heart that his father was still alive. And you knew, that Gandalf was enough of an covard to not to tell the truth to Thorin, and how it fell to you to dig the truth from the old wizard and pass the news to Thorin. You knew Thorin would never really forgive you, even when he already knew that his father was in the old ruins and would not make it out alive. And there was the fact that that was where Sauron had showed himself after all these years, where Galadriel, Elrond and Saruman had fought against him and his nine ghostly ring bearers.
You knew that this world was in danger, but you also knew that your knowledge couldn't save this world from the darkness. Or, well, it could, but this world had to find it's own way to help itself.
And there would be people, who would lose their lives during these years, or even decades. Numerous lives, from every race. You knew how to stop Sauron, but it was not in your hands to show the way. Deep in your heart you knew, that all of the races had to face these losses, find a way to work with their kind and with other races, and work together against this strong enemy and trust each other, no matter how hard it was. Because, in the end, there would be people, who would go against this strong enemy. There was a possibility that you wouldn't be alive anymore when this would happen. And the fact was... you were not a saviour of this world. You could only help to fight the current situtation, help to fight against the last dragon, somewhat help to see the bigger problem and enemy of this world without giving the name out loud or spilling the whole truth.
You were not Gandalf.
You were not a hero or a saviour of this world.
And in order to the races to trust more eachother, they had to face Sauron. And to trust eachother, they had to see the problem themselves, to feel it themselves. A child does not learn, if you do not let him learn himself first. Knowing this was a reason you knew you couldn't be the one, who would spill the beans of the enemy, to be the one who would be marked as a hero and saviour.
You were...You were you, (Y/n), daughter of Regina and Robin, daughter of Glorfindel and Sarael. You had to protect the people and animals from the enemy, not to destroy him. It was not your destiny, what had been planned out for you.
"... But there was a small group of dwarves running through the streets at some point, but I had no time to take a good look at them. The town was already in chaos, and we had to get the people safe and take down the orcs, all the while out watching for the fire and trying to save the people from the burning houses" you heard your grandpa say. You had zoned out while lost in your thoughts and missed their talking. You looked up to Rumble, and just then did he look down at you. "We could not save everyone, unfortunately. There was only handfull of us, and too many things to do at the same time" You nodded and lowered your eyes back to the dirty, wooden road. It wasn't their fault that some of the people had died. They had done their best, and Tauriel even pointed that out, thanking Rumble for their efforts for saving as many people as possible.
And just as Tauriel had finished, you started to hear loud talking. Your head jerked up to the direction of the sound. You recognised the voices, who they belonged to. And tears were growing to your eyes, again, as soon as your brain registered just who these voice's belonged to. After so many months, you had finally met your granfather, and now you could meet your friends, uncles, and your father. When the group appeared to your sight, you saw your father leading the Merry Men, the Seven dwarves right next to them, Emma and Captain Hook, their daughter Ruth and son Leo, Roland and Henry, David, Big sis Red and Tinkerbell walking towards you. Seeing them left you breathless. You took a step towards them, then second one, and when one of the Merry uncles saw you, you let out a scream and ran towards them. And just then did your father turn towards you.
"DAD!" you screamed from the depth of your lungs. His face fell even more, and he let out some sort of an sob and laugh before hoisting his bow to his shoulder and started running towards you. When the two of you met, you jumped to his neck, and his hands went around your back. And you both cried. Seeing your grandpa had been an relief and bringing some happiness and feeling of safety to you, but now when you where hugging your father, you knew you were safe. Now everything was almost fine. You just needed to see your mother to finish the sircle.
And then there were more hands surrounding you two as your uncle Merries and your brothers Henry and Roland circled you to hug you, all of them crying of relief too see you alive and fine. After all these months, they had finally found their lost little sister and princess.
You didn't know how long you stayed in their arms, being welcomed back home, to safety, until they let go of you. Your father took a good look at you, his eyes being as teary as they could. And after a few seconds, he cupped your cheek and let out a sob, before a small smile grew on his face.
"Months you were lost from us, and look at you now. You are a woman, an hero with hidden power" he praised you, tears still falling from his eyes. And you smiled. This man, your father, saw your little changes and was still proud of you. He saw the hero in you, before you even knew that you were one. And he knew you had an hidden talent, without even seeing it or without you telling anything about it. However he did it, you did not know.
"Well, I have gained a new.. or, well... I found my old life and the magical talent that comes with it after arriving here. And, I found out something interesting about my... past life before Stoorybrook. Buuuut, I still need to confirm it, and I'm not quite sure how to do it" you said and your father raised his brow, as did Roland and the Merry uncle's, and pretty much every new person here. Expect Henry, who as a writer already knew about it.
"So, she finally knows how to burn people alive?" Leo half-whispered, earning an loud slap to his head from someone, probably from his sister, or from his father. You just rolled your eyes and then answered the question that everyone had. Only your grandpa had seen it, but he had not been in a state where he could actually link it to a magic. Or, then he already had done so, but had not said anything. Or, then he had, when you hadn't been listening to him and the two elves earlier. Well, anyway, now you were going to spill the beans in front on everyone - and oh Goodie, you had to do this like billions times over when you'd get back home Stoorybrooke.
"I still don't know how to do that, or use magic in any other ways than-" you began, as you let the magic circle you, and then, in middle of your sentence you turned into a husky. Everyones eyes were glued to you. And it was silent for a few seconds, before Grumby pointed a finger at you and turned to look at others next to him "She just turned into a dog! Who did that?!" Some people, your grandpa being one of them, rolled their eyes.
"I believe she did it herself" David told matter of factly, looking at you smiling, like a proud father. Well, he was your half grandfather, so... Grumby looked at him and then down at you, his frown deepening. You walked to them, taking again your human form.
"I... well, better explain this now, but I have to keep this short and I hope you'll leave the questions for later" you said and waited for everyone to nod for understanding "As you all know, my parents, Robin and Regina, and my Merry uncles found me from the forest when I was a baby, and how Robin and Regina decided to adopt me when my real parent's didn't show up to reclaim me or how they could not be found. While I have been in this world, which is also called as Middle-Earth or Arda, I have found out why they didn't come and get me"
You took a few deep breath, and closed your eyes for a second. This felt horrible thing to tell, especially because your father was here, even when you knew that you had nothing to worry about. Seconds passed on before you could feel your fathers and grandfathers presen's behind you, and you lifted your eyes back to everyone infront of you. You could do this, and you knew that no matter what, everyone, including your father, would understand. And no one would hate you after hearing about your origins.
"After a few days I had come to this world, I turned into a husky, a dog you just saw. At first myself and my companion, 13 dwarves, a wizard named Gandalf and Bilbo from race of hobbits, thought it was because of Gandalf's magic, that... kind of happened because of an accident... and kind of because I had a fight with my... um... nevermind... But then we learned about a secret race of shape turning mayas - sort of spirits of this world - who guarded this world few thousand years ago. And their leader, or gueen or whatever, Sarael is believed to be my mother. And my father is an elf called Glorfindel. There are, for now, two facts confirming me to be their daughter. The first thing is the fact that I can use magic to turn myself into a animal, even when it took me for a quite long to figure it out how to use it. And the second fact is that the blond elf over there, also called Legolas, said that my fea, or soul is the same as Glorfindel's and Sarael's daughter's. And, as he put it, he is a cousin of mine" you continued telling your complicated history.
People from Stoorybrooke shared an look, before they turned to look at you and then Legolas. Then you felt your father wrap his arm around your shoulder, squeezing your shoulder, just as smiles started to break on the others faces. You turned to look up to your father, who smiled.
"I'm happy to hear, that you have found your family. Where are you other parent's?" Robin asked. He must have guessed that you had found someone special to you, but choose to ignore it. Your smiled dropped a little. You might know, who your parents were, but...
"Aut Sarael died at war against orcs about a thousand years ago, and before she died, she got (Y/n)'s fea safe. Glorfindel should be at Lothórien, annoying lady Galadriend and lord Celeborn. Or, that is where I last heard he should be, but if he has heard of (Y/n), he should be on his way to her" Legolas says. And then Tauriel frowns and turns to Legolas.
"But if lady Galadriel is in Dol Guldur, then Glorfindel must be there too. You know very well that blond haired drama queen loves dangerous situation's" Tauriel said with far too serious tone. You, with rest of the citizen of Stoorybrooke, stared at her with different mixture of disbilief.
"And here I thought he was a noble elf...." you mumbled. Legolas and Tauriel had heard this, and all they could do was to roll their eyes. Well, never make an first impression of an persion you have never met. You put on an note to your brains to lower all the possible images you had on your father, because, clearly he was not what you thought he would be. And after hearing Tauriel's little description, you weren't even sure what to expect from him.
One burning house collapsed behind you, and you all turned to look at it, a little starled. And you stared at it, being silent for some time.
"We should go back to Stoorybrooke. This town is evacuated, and the orcs have been killed. There's nothign left for us in here" David says, and the rest nod. Even Tauriel and Legolas seemed to be eager to go to this new town. Or go on their own way. You really didn't know, what those two were going to do now, since there were no living orcs to chase or hurt or poisoned dwarves to heal.
And then you thought about Thorin, and the rest of the company. Rumple had said that he had seen dwarves, but you weren't sure how many he had seen. Were they all alive, healthy, together? And more imprtantly, where were they?
You turned to look at the Lonely mountain and held your breath. You had lost your sence of time in the Woods, so you weren't sure when Durin's day was suppose to be. And then Henry was next to you, smiling like a mad man. You glared up at him. This man, your older brother, was the only one who could write your story, and who would know where your friends were.
"You go back to Stoorybrooke! Me and my sister are going to look for her One true love" Henry says and his grin was far to big. At the same time you wanted to kick him, and hug him. And your glare told as much to him, as his grin grew bigger.
"Well, I suppose you aren't the only one going to look for them" you heard captain Hook say. He, and few other of your friends and relatives gathered behind you, smiling like they had just learned a juicy secret. And you sighed. These were your friends. No matter where they were from.
"Well, alright then. One group with me to hunt these idiots down, the other one goes back to Stoorybrooke to make sure that everyone from this town is safe. And, someone looke for Bard. I need something black and pointy from his herbs. And someone, please, please tell my mother that I love her" you say. And then everyone puts on their best poker face.
"Well, about your mother....." your grandfather says, with the most serious look.

Leaving Home
Characters: Sam x Reader. Mentions of Dean, Charlie, and Cas
Prompt: Day Ten, a song that makes you fall asleep
Words: 977
Warnings: Fluff. Yawn triggering?
A/N: I legit kept making myself yawn when I was writing this. If you would like to be added to the tag list let me know!
Out of all the things in the bunker that made it feel like your home as well was the grand piano. Sam of course was home too, but the piano also held a special place in your heart.
After a long day you'd relax and just play soft melodies that would resonate throughout the bunker. And after returning weeks after from a hunt you'd sit down and write pieces.
Hunts, the boys, and everything you got to experience in the world inspired you. It pushed you to become a better hunter and even a better pianist.
On the nights you'd all be drinking, you'd play and Dean would sing along to the song drunkenly. Sam would be in his chair laughing and watching the two of you completely lost in the music.
The piano was one of many things to bring you all together.
When Charlie had visited she'd beg you to play pieces from the Hobit and Lord of the Rings. You of course would usually oblige to her requests with a smile.
Even one time Castiel watched over your shoulder curiously. He watched your fingers dance over the keys as you worked your magic, eyes scanning the sheets and playing the corresponding notes. He had turned his attention over to your sheets and books. He flipped through them recognizing one song in particular. That night you tried to teach him to play Hallelujah. It took him awhile to get the hang of it, but he did. And when he played for you to show you, a smile spread across his face, you had become Dean. You sang the words to the song as he played. It had been nice to be on the other end of it all.
Some evenings you'd be left alone while the boys handled a case. It had either been too dangerous our they could easily tackle it. Sam usually wanted you where it was safe- where he knew it was safe. For him, the safest place he knew of was the bunker.
But as of lately you haven't gotten around to much hunting. Both Sam and Dean's orders this time rather than just Sam's.
You could argue if you wanted, but it wouldn't do you any good. Besides, it wasn't just you they were protecting.
It was the middle of the night and the bunker was quiet. When you passed by, you could hear Dean snoring in his room.
You were the only one to be awake. It felt impossible to sleep even with Sam beside you. It also didn't help when you had to get up to pee or even find food or drink.
A couple of hours had gone by and sleep seemed to still be nowhere in sight. Part of you started to wish that Sam or even Dean could play your piano and lull you to sleep.
You rose from the bed again and headed for the kitchen. Once you had your trusty ice water you headed back towards the room. But a compelling force stopped you to sit at your piano. You set the water beside the bench and took your place. You played a few soft notes and looked up when you heard a light cough.
Sam smiled at you tiredly as he leaned in the door way. His sweatpants were halfway hanging on his hips. His muscles peeked out along with his boxer briefs. You took notice of one pant leg covering his foot before looking up to his tired, hazel eyes. He gently rubbed one eye as his shirt hiking up his body, a yawn escaping his large form.
"What are you doing up?"
You smiled a bit and grabbed your water from the floor, "I could ask you the same thing."
Sam chuckled before yawning again. He blinked a few times before adjusting his sights back on you.
"I uh... Had a nightmare. Nothing bad. But I realized you weren't next to me. Thought I'd find you. Just followed the sound of the," he yawned again, "Piano...."
You smiled and approached him, your feet softly padding against the wood floor, "I just thought I'd get some water. Piano sorta just called me to it like a moth to a light."
Sam nodded and pulled you to him, leading you back to the room, "You know if you keep drinking that you'll keep getting up to pee."
You sighed, "I know.... But I just feel partched and it just goes right through me...."
Sam hummed and set the glass onto the bedside table. He crawled back into bed and pulled you with him, making sure you were comfortable.
"Try to get some sleep? You have an appointment at nine..."
"Eight," you corrected.
"Even more reason to get to sleep," he mumbled.
"But I-"
"I have an idea," he interrupted.
Sam leaned over you to grab your phone from the table next to the water, his bedhead falling and framing his face. He leaned back as the screen lit up. You watched as his thumbs swiftly moved across your screen pulling up YouTube and typing something in. He clicked on Leaving Home and soon the sound of a piano played throughout the room. With a gentle thud your phone was placed back where it usually sat. He then turned the lamp off.
Sam pulled you closer and you nuzzled into him. Your head was on his chest listening to his heartbeat as his fingers plowed through your locks gently. You began to faintly tingle as he ushered you to sleep. All thanks to the sound of his drumming heart, the melody from the phone, and his magic fingers massaging your scalp.
Sam smiled in a tired victory when he could hear you faintly snoring. He pressed his lips to your head before falling asleep to the smell of your peach shampoo.

Flamingo: Favourite romantic movie?
Since I got this question a few times, I really liked the romantic ‘section’ they had in the hobit movie. An hobbit fell in love with a elf, wait, no I think he was a dwarf or something, regardless that was cute. She kicked everyone’s ass to help him, a bad ass chick kicking someone ass for you, how isn’t that romantic? I don’t advocate violence, just throwing that out there.
