I haven't posted a doodle dump in a while, but tbh I just haven't done enough sketches to make one. Everything that would've gone into a doodle dump, I already finished and posted, or are things I want to finish without posting the WIP.

That series where I review each of the Grimm's Fairy Tales before I find out the actual meaning behind them, part "The Frog King, or Iron Henry"

Lessons: 1. If you're gay for a prince you have to put bands around your heart so they very dramatically shatter every time you look at them, because you love them so much. I think that's the gay standard for this world and I'm down. 2. If you throw a frog at the wall and it doesn't stick, it's ready to turn into a prince. What legit confused me: a. The frog was the king's son. So what king from what place? Is this chick marrying her brother? We got some Targaryen-esque storytelling from the Grimms. b. What was the point of turning into the frog? Is it so the princess would be grossed out by the frog, so she'd accept anything better than that, and he'd be covered if he was ugly or mean or something to that effect? I have no idea. Just go be gay with Henry.

The reason people were saying don’t forget fandom history isn’t because anyone thinks Stucky is the oldest MLM ship, or the biggest MLM ship, or the only MLM ship of its time. It’s because it was 2014 and gay marriage was still illegal. It’s because it was 2015 and MAGA was flying everywhere. It’s because it was 2016, people took to Twitter and trended #givecapaboyfriend. Mere weeks later, comics Steve Rogers was written into a Nazi.

It’s because it came at a turning point not just in superhero history but American history. MCU Steve Rogers was a return to a more sincere worldview after two decades of grim dark cynicism. The MCU, previously the domain of (mainly cis white) dudebros — you only have to look at the way Nat and Peggy were written in the early movies to know that women and other minorities, whether as characters or audience, were a distant afterthought — has gained traction with the mainstream audience. The advent of social media and internet accessibility meant a blossoming abundance of fan content that previous generations didn’t have.

This coincided with a time of intense ideological clash between progressive and conservative voices. Unlike what dudebros say, very few people believed the MCU would actually give Cap a boyfriend, but it did squarely place Captain America on the side of the LGBT community. Up until this point, MCU Steve in both canon and fanon has often been portrayed with hazy nostalgia for “the greatest generation” and the white picket fence dream. The hashtag trend was a reclamation of a character who was written by a minority, whose origin was a marginalised group for his time, and whose moral code was always supportive of people sidelined by history.

There will always be older ships, bigger ships, “more canon” ships, but you’ll never get another ship that rode the nexus of social media growth, genre popularity, LGBT recognition and political tug-o-war to breach containment the way Steve-Bucky did.

Don’t forget the history of #GiveCapABoyfriend, the BBC Steve-Bucky fan video, the “of course it’s a love story”, the “we went a little Brokeback” and the “Bucky is his home”. All of these were acknowledgement of the sheer size and international reach of the fandom. With a character many people thought of as the face of conservative America, it brought gay romance into the mainstream consciousness…and yes, without Steve-Bucky and several other concurrent massive MLM ships laying down the ground work, many of the newer canon gay romances would not have been green lit by profit-hungry studios.

why? because for me, these two are more vulnerable.

recently in X(formerly known as twitter), SNL Korea has uploaded a video that parodies the day when hanni was at the national assembly. In that video, it was clear they were mocking hanni to the extreme, and if not, being racist towards her accent. from copying her accent, her blue corral performance outfit, and her crying during the last parts at the national assembly. a lot of us voiced out our thoughts and fury towards SNL Korea, for being so reckless, racist, and unkind.

we all know about this, and so, moving on to our precious maknae, hyein.

hyein, as we know, is the youngest in the group and she has taken everything seriously and thus has been so quiet for the past few days. tbf, not only her but also haerin. these two have been so quiet and many of us are more than worried for our maknaes. that's why we started hyein's hashtag that she created years back.

i'm doing this because what they've gone through made me realize so many things.

being a tokki is so, so hard. but never boring.

we see how many people are cruel, ruthless, racist, vile, disgusting, and more that i can't even list down to women and young people, esp young girls. it hurts to see newjeans experiencing so many things even before their debut till now, but there's something that i can say so proudly.

newjeans are never one to die when pressured badly by others.

no, they are the ones who make themselves strong, and they also mentioned countless times that WE are also their strength.

now, i have been their fan ever since the end promotion of super shy era. i may not know truly what happened to them too well before, but i have eyes and i know who is lying and telling the truth.

they've gone through a lot of things, but i am so damn proud of them.

there's never a day where i don't feel happiness, joy, pain, excitement, thrill, and the eagerness to see them everywhere. every time i see them, i feel beyond happy.

returning back to the actual topic, twotolz has already imprinted itself into my heart. their every moment, even if it is little and small, it is very.. so damn precious to me. they're so precious, and i cherish them so much. i yearn to see more of the two interacting because what they have is much bigger and different.

hey guys, i don’t want to bring twitter drama here, but i thought it would be good to give some context as to why the brazilian fanbase is so upset at quackity’s statement from yesterday and how quackity’s fanbase directly impacted cellbit’s personal life. 

before anything i would like to make it clear that everything that i’m saying is talking about quackity’s fanbase and not quackity himself, although at the end it will go back to him, but not because of something he did, and instead of something he didn’t. 

everything starts at the streamer award nominations. we’ve known for years and years that people turn into their worst selves when an award is involved and someone they like is nominated, so obviously there was some tension between quackity’s fanbase with cellbit’s (since they’re “the biggest rival” in the bracket quackity is nominated). in an attempt to ruin cellbit’s reputation, and therefore his chances of winning, they decided to bring back a very old and known topic about cellbit’s past, trying to replicate what happened with forever (when the cases are not similar in the slightest), they were trying to get hashtags trending, @’ing quackity studios to kick him out of the project, basically doing anything they could to spread false information or the lack of it, not aware of the results this action would have. 

so as you have all probably read cellbit’s pdf, he was a victim himself, was taken out of the closet, while having to share extremely detailed and traumatic experiences of his personal life.

so when quackity went on stream yesterday and talked mainly about the qsmp being a project to unite people and that people who were doing that kind of thing were “external people outside of this project who don't even consume QSMP, whose only goal is to destabilize and divide the QSMP community”, he was slightly wrong, because although he may not consider the people who did that as part of his community, if you go through the screenshots and the tag/mentions of the day it happened, almost all of them are part of patitotwt. so the least brazilians expected was for quackity to really tell them what they did was wrong and talk directly to his fanbase, since they were being xenophobic to brazilians as well.

unfortunately when you’re the head of a project and you put your name on it, you put yourself on the spotlight and you have to deal with the consequences by owning up to things you probably wouldn’t have in other instances.

what quackity did yesterday was not directly point out the problem, but talk in a general vague way and that was not what we wanted, because if you don’t reach out to those people in a clear way, they’re never gonna stop and the problem lies at the fact that they will do anything (because they’re not in their right state of mind) to put down anyone who they see as a threat on their way. 

we know quackity is known for not talking or addressing drama surrounding his fanbase, but once again, i go back to the point i made previously, when you stamp your name on a project, you have a responsibility bigger than anyone else to deal with the problems along with it.

hi f1 chronicle! i appreciate that you are reposting your articles to tumblr and trying to gain a bigger audience. if you would like your posts to reach more people, you might consider changing the format a bit: the hashtags you are using in the post itself are not doing anything - tumblr does not work like twitter, it has a designated space at the bottom of the post creator for hashtags. they also don't have to be contained in one word. if you want your hashtags to be effective, tag your posts with "#formula 1", "#formula one" and "#f1" and remove the hashtags from the post itself. this way, they will look less unsightly and people will reblog them. hope it helps!

Hi, sorry for the slow reply. We've been using a plugin called 'Blog2Social' to publish links from WordPress to tumblr and it turns out the hashtag functionality doesn't work. I've removed the tags from the plugin set up so it looks less ugly, thanks for the heads up.

how did you grow your account? i want to start doing commissions during college so i have some extra money but i dont know how to grow :(

most of my followers migrated from my twitter, so i can’t really help with a grounds up approach ): hashtags help a lot, even if they’re not fully related to the art like even if ur just calling out that the furry character in ur art is a catboy helps sm

engaging character designs and oc content are good for catching attention, same with fanart for bigger creators

I’m bewildered that content creators apparently still make whole heartfelt apology videos and shit when they get called on saying something offensive and I’m even more bewildered that this is apparently actually still demanded and expected on some social media??? When does that do anything other than generate a bigger shitstorm? It’s lose/lose. Both the criticism and the apology can be very reasonable and genuine but the minute it’s the subject of an entire post by someone with millions of followers it pretty much curses both parties to trolling and bullying from multiple angles that might never even let up. “Sorry, didn’t know and I’ll try to do better” or “that was a long time ago and not how I feel anymore” really have to be enough sometimes because making any bigger deal out of it on the internet has pretty much the same effect on twitter and tiktok as chum in a shark tank.

Let these things be casual and humble sometimes, instead of a whole scripted song and dance that’s gonna usually just mutate into some embarrassing monetized hashtag movement.

Lets talk about something controversial--

Lets talk about how BALLS-DEEP taekookers have embedded themselves inside the fandom to the point of Armys DEFENDING THEM over protecting the ones constantly being the target of this disgusting breed.

We (the OG fans who were there since the beginning and noticed the moment it started) warned ya'll about this; for MONTHS, for YEARS. But ya'll didn't listen. Just let it happen.

It started with Big “OT7″ accounts ignoring the issue and deeming it “just shipping wars”, “focus on BTS only”, to the fandom collectively turning a blind eye the bigger the hate got with every little "ignore and block", every "you need to curate your TL better so you don't constantly see that--"

We warned ya'll and you called us Crazy, you called us Delusional, you called us Entitled, you called us Problematic Old Hags. And now I fear we may never get rid of taekookers AT ALL.

EXHIBIT A:

Lets start with something that happened a few days ago. It started with a TKer using a set-up account to drag The Weekend for that weirdo netflix series. Which for some reason it called the attention of Abel (the lead vocal)'s attention to the point of quoting it, which in turn gave the tweet MORE attention/views.

As soon as the tweet started getting the desired amount of clout, the TKer changed the entire layout from taekook to Jimin to make it seem like "oh, pjms again starting shit because they're bored" (when in reality Jimin stans were hyper focused on streaming & buying 'Like Crazy' since the song was about to break the record for longest days charting and also the 119 #1s on iTunes), but what everyone ignored completely was the fact that despite switching the layout the person was actively dragging & defaming Jimin on that same acc & liking tweets from Jimin antis. But NOBODY CARED ABOUT THAT, because armys only saw "a jimin stan being problematic". And it took ONE Jennie solo stan calling out armys hypocrisy for the way they've always given trashcookers a free-pass in their fandom instead of defending Jimin, when both he and Jennie get the most hate from them on all platforms.

But AGAIN, what did the fandom do? Instead of actively reporting and trying to get the TKer suspended, they switched to attacking that Jennie solo stan AND slvtshaming Jennie as well. As for the person who started the whole thing? Deactivated and is probably STILL around with a different account spreading more hate and ways to get away with it.

EXHIBIT B: The #s war from yesterday.

Again, it was a TKer who started trending those disgusting tags over a harmless joke about spotify debut numbers. The hashtags were ALL initially AGAINST JIMIN ONLY, and each one more vile than the last and the bastards even celebrated that they got them to trend so quickly and were even putting money into keeping them up longer. 

(I spent an unhealthy amount of hours out of my life yesterday reporting & blocking people from BOTH ends, but it was just neverending! And for some reason twitter wasn’t showing all of the reports I made which frustrated me even more).

But armys only cared about the issue when Jimin stans actually started fighting back, using the SAME #s against TKers. NOT BECAUSE JIMIN HAD BEEN DEHUMANIZED/DEFAMED FIRST, BUT BECAUSE NOW IT INVOLVED 2 MORE MEMBERS (otherwise they would have ignored it). So instead of helping to clear the searches and reporting EVERYONE who was using the #s, they ONLY reported/suspended Jimin stans and instead trended “BTS IS 7″ initially, while the TKer who started this whole thing is STILL around, active on another acc after deactivating.

This gave TKers the upper-hand to once again SWITCH THE SITUATION IN THEIR FAVOR, by gaslighting armys/ot7s into thinking and trending: “solosOUT” “ALL SOLOS ARE ANTIS” “WE LOVE YOU TAEKOOK” “WE LOVE YOU [X, Y, Z member]”

(I even saw BTS members who weren’t involved in the issue being included in the tags as well to divert attention further from the fact that it was taekook shippers who started this shit).

And if you had looked closely at the first tweets using these tags, you would have noticed TONS of taekookers with the cult symbol on their username at the same time putting ALL of the blame on Jimin stans and accusing armys of ONLY caring about Jimin but never defending Taekook.

Which now has officially enabled the mentality inside the fandom that calling out Taekook Shippers = shading/hating Taehyung & Jungkook as individuals.

But its OKAY to call out Jikookers/Kookminers (cause they’re now “Tae antis” by association) & anyone who defends Jimin, because its OKAY for Jimin to get hate/shade as long as Taekook are protected.  LOL what a fucking joke of a fandom (Alexa, play “Face-Off” )

EXHIBIT C:  VMinKook at SG’s concert today

The 3 maknaes were literally standing/sitting together, playing. vibing to the concert (there’s literal clips of them talking, interacting and playing with the army bombs). But what topics made noise first?

“Taekook together at the concert” “Taekook concert date” “Taekook ignored Jimin, as they should” “Jimin left first/alone in his own car because he’s bitter.”

I even saw one where tkers were UPSET because “Jimin didnt pay attention” whenever tk interacted. Like sis makeup your mind, are you happy he’s no longer interacting like before or are you desperate for his validation that will never come???

Jimin is unbothered, happy and busy and probably had some schedule to attend after the concert, but these deranged mfers will always see what they want and armys will always give them a free-pass instead of addressing the pink elephants on parade in the room.

And if this is the fandom we have to go back to when and IF BTS ever return as 7 after enlistment (given that they don’t actually disband after that not so subtle hint suga made at the end of the concert)? Then I’m about ready to drop BTS as a whole the moment Jimin goes in for his service. ‘Cause this ain’t it.

I realize i should probably elaborate on how We Are Robin was inspired by a legitimate movement.

So while researching interviews by We Are Robin’s writer Lee Bermejo, I tried checking for the ones that were straight from his words rather than articles that quoted him. So i almost missed this one article that was worded as though it was not an interview, but CBR quoted from USA Today so it must’ve been. If it weren’t for a DC comics forum that had already read it, i wouldn’t have noticed.

When the series opens, it really doesn't have an identity, Bermejo says, but the group knows its mission statement. "It's one thing to put a hashtag on your Twitter account as a teenager and feel like you're part of something. It's a whole other thing when the (stuff) hits the fan and you have to stand up for what you believe in."

"Just with everything that we've seen happen recently with Ferguson, there's a lot of issues here that I think can be touched on and should be touched on."

"There's that element of this particular moment we're passing right now, and with a book like this you have a chance to comment about certain things and bring them into the Bat-universe in real interesting ways."

As a longtime fan of the Dark Knight and his supporting players, Bermejo admits that he always had a hard time figuring out why Batman would have a teen sidekick and put a kid in danger in the first place - for the writer, that was the beginning of how a series such as We Are Robin could work.

"Maybe there could possibly be many of these kids out there on the streets who have different talents and different capabilities that could be useful to Batman," says Bermejo.

"With ideas and big concepts, teenagers can get really passionate about that stuff and it can be their whole life. That was something interesting to me, that this thing could be bigger than just one guy jumping around in a domino mask."

(Just the first 3/three forum pages, I’m not reading all that 💀) Seems as though Bermejo wanted to make a commentary about Ferguson metaphorically through the Batman mythos. My interpretation of his message: the disenfranchised youth of America that have no one to help them (authority figures like parents and Batman) feel as though they must take justice matters into their own hands. Something Robin originally meant to represent, a child character for other children to project on. Bermejo thought to implement that literally into the story, where Robin is an actual symbol children use. In the case of real life, justice is done by protesting. But in the matters of DC comics, specifically Gotham? Their protesting comes in the form of vigilantism.

In the chapter where the We Are Robin kids try breaking up a random riot that kinda appears out from nowhere?

But when the Robins join in to stop the riot, they were suddenly framed by the Robot Batman cop as the aggressors (being controlled by Jim Gordon as he was temporarily “Batman”). Indiscriminating its force of authority onto the kids as well as the rioters.

This carries into the Riko’s POV chapter. After a WAR member died from a bomb, the television shows Troy’s parents being upset at the We Are Robin movement, claiming it “does more harm than good.”

Troy’s death is probably another comparisons to when 6 Ferguson protesters died. So his death seems to ask the question, is protesting worth it if it gets you killed? Are protesters making the situation of unjust violence worse? Riko answers: “I think… I think he was trying to do what he thought was right.”

If you aren’t aware of the Ferguson unrest, an 18 year old boy (Micheal Brown) was shot by a police officer after being accused of robbery. When nothing came about the police officer in question, many in the black community began protesting for about 400 days for the officer to be reprimanded. The media would often call it riots, with the negative connotations of unnecessary violence. This was apart of the Black Lives Matters movement of anti police brutality.

(here’s one video but i recommend doing your own research because i’m not great at keeping sources)

I’m sure you can see the similarities now. If not… essentially the We Are Robin is an allegory of the Ferguson protests. The vigilante kids are fighting crime, while the Ferguson protesters were the black community fighting injustice.

Robin War actually touches back on this Ferguson inspired media conflict, by having such an interestingly similar story involving a teenaged boy and a robber and a person dying from being shot 🤔

But here’s the twist: a We Are Robin member walks into a convenience store, he intervenes a police officer trying to stop a robbery, then, because this WAR member was a young probably “immature” teenager, accidentally shoots the police officer with his own gun.

Ha. Ha. 😐 Certainly not an insensitive plot to use at all (sarcasm)

(I should remind you all that Robin War was a piece of garbage mostly written by Tom King, and other writers like Tim Seeley and Scott Lobdell. i don't really need to explain everything wrong with these guys right now. Except for the parts Bermajo wrote, those were the best despite the surrounding shitty plot).

There’s also plenty of police imagery. See here an iconic picture of the Ferguson protest as a poster right smack down in the middle of a panel. Just in case you aren’t fully convinced about the Ferguson allegory… 🙃

Smack down in the centre of this panel has a iconic redrawing of a Ferguson protester (Edward Crawford) catching a tear gas canister thrown by the police, and throwing it right back at the riot cops faces 🖕☄️

So yes, We Are Robin was an activist movement.

I know we're all devastated about this, but there are things we can still do. Maybe we won't be able to get the show saved or renewed, but we can still cause massive tidal waves that makes sure this doesn't happen to future sapphic shows and stop this cycle of cancelling shows prematurely. But we have to at least try. Here's what you can do:

- Use the hashtag #SaveWarriorNun on apps like Instagram and Twitter. I know we all hate the bird app right now, but we're not going to be heard on any other apps. When you're tweeting make sure to include words or images and don't use more than three hashtags. Always check the spelling of the tag (we really don't need #SaveWarrionNun trending)

- Sign the petition, please. We're already at 50k signatures. Send it to all your friends.

- There is a request show form on the Netflix website. Request Warrior Nun season 3. There are similar forms on other streaming platform, like Hulu, and you can request to save Warrior Nun.

- Cancel Netflix. They don't deserve any more of your money, and there are other platforms you can use. One of the reasons Netflix will just straight up cancel shows is because they get new subscriptions because of the show and then they won't make another season because it costs more money. They'll then put that money towards a new show that they'll probably end up cancelling. We need to make this a bigger loss than a gain. If you really can't live without Netflix, then just cancel it for a couple weeks. We just need them to see a sudden drop in subscription numbers.

- Call the Netflix help center and file a complaint about the cancellation. I know talking to customer service can be stressful, but the calls get registered as complaints and is one of the best ways to reach Netflix directly.

- Stay salty at Netflix. Tank their rating on the app store and other websites by writing reviews. Let’s make sure everyone knows that Netflix will cancel shows before you get a chance to fall in love with it.

- Make noise. There have been a ton of articles questioning the reasoning for the cancellation, especially since Netflix hasn't put out anything official. Reach out to your favorite youtube channels and media outlets, and ask them to do a video or article about Warrior Nun and the cancellation of shows.

I love this fandom so much. You have fought for this show like nothing I've ever seen before. The holy war is nowhere near over, but it's okay if you're tired. If you need to take a break and focus on yourself for a bit, then please take care of yourself. At the end of the day, your mental health is most important thing. But if there is anything on this list that you can do, I'll really appreciate it. :)
