archer rewatches nlmg: finale
[episode 11]
🏆 achievement unlocked: place a rewatched series into your top 3 series of all time
‼️tip: rewatch series you liked, if you've seen them live! sometimes, things happen and you just don't get the full objective experience, while watching throughout the months
my boys are teaming up!!!
i'm gonna start tearing my hair out
perhaps i am delusional, but dying with the person you love most does seem like the best option tbh
AND EVERYONE CHEERED
they are everything to me
and what if i died because of this scene...
his bloodied hands and tiny sobs... i think someone tore my heart out of my chest and started jumping on it
and in the midst of all this, nueng remains level-headed and kind and generous. i am very proud of him.
I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
yeah, we've got a fucking surprise coming from the other side now...
my favourite boys together!!!
all these words, yet in one ear and out the fucking other
i absolutely hate it when they are on different wavelengths
the worst thing about this conversation is that girlie couldn't even begin to guess how her words are affecting palm. it's just the most unfortunate miscommunication.
*grabs him and shakes him and shakes him and shakes him until all the stupid self-hatred-filled thoughts and insecurities fall out*
*screams of pain and agony and torture and suffering*
brooding during the day, brooding at night: brooding - our new favourite hobby
love the gay chairs btw, six colours so definitely not just a rainbow
i love that there are so many cute domestic moments from their time on the island that we just keep getting them as nice little flashbacks throughout the whole series
me <- totally normal guy who has no problems whatsoever, welcoming the first customers to my bar i named in honour of my ex, while wearing a cap that he gave me which represents our love
the reunion here is my most rewatched scene in the series btw. i've seen it at least fifty times.
i hope one day palm believes that he doesn't need to do anything more to prove himself, alas...
and what signs were you sending? kissing ben? /lh
my boy is remembering ancient transgressions and, frankly, i support him
greatest shot in history of television. thank you jojo, thank you pond, thank you phuwin, thanks everyone. watch never let me go.

Have you ever disliked someone just because a friend disliked them? Yessssss. That’s my job as a best friend hahahaha half kidding. No but seriously though, I have. I mean I’d still be objective and tell my friend if their enemy is making sense in some aspects, but at the end of the day I’ll give them the extra support by disliking that person anyway. Which would you rather own: A camera or a video camera. Why? Video camera, because I’ve always wanted to start vlogging and my phone’s camera is already quite decent, so I’m not really needing a camera right now. Have you ever won a lot of money in a slot machine? How much? Nah, I’ve never even played in a casino. I’ve been in one but I was only 18 then, so I couldn’t really do anything except to walk through the casino and stare at all the machines and booths that I couldn’t play at haha. Do you watch sports on TV even though you aren't a sporty person yourself? I will sometimes watch a tennis or MMA match if I catch them on, but that’s about it. I wouldn’t know who to root for either, or know who’s the better player; I just watch for the action. Do you eat / drink at your computer? Yes but I try to avoid it more these days because I hate greasing up my trackpad or leaving bits of food on my keyboard. If I really have to eat at my laptop I’ll put on a show or a video to watch so that I don’t have to actually be using my laptop.
How much do you overeat at special occasions? (Birthdays, Christmas, etc) I don’t think I have the capacity to overeat haha. My room for food is small so when I get full I simply stop eating, or I no longer get up to get a second serving. Generally I try to get a piece of every meal though, no matter how little; I always want to have a taste of everything so that I don’t miss out. The music you listen to: Is it mostly sung by female or male vocalists? I think it’s an equal amount but when it comes to frequency I think I’ve been listening to female vocalists more often – Beyoncé, Paramore, The Japanese House, Banks, etc. My playlists generally have both female and male artists though cause I also listen to Hozier, alt-J, Coldplay, Rhye, Joji, and other male dudes. Do you think it's important to enjoy your job or do you just work for money? As much as possible people should always aim to end up somewhere where they love what they do for a living, but given that I’m quite materialistic but mostly grew up in a household with a mom who was very frugal and often reiterated the joys of a simple life (aka a life I hated lmao), I think I’d have no problem having a job that pays handsomely but wasn’t necessarily viewed as fun. I wanna be able to spoil and reward myself after all the work I do. Do you require glasses / contacts to see properly? If so, which do you use? Yeah, I have glasses. Tell me an embarrassing thing that happened to you recently: I shared a serious-toned Facebook post earlier tonight and Gabie’s dad gave it a like. I’ve mostly forgotten he was my Facebook friend and so I started feeling embarrassed because normally I would shitpost and share stupid memes and if he liked my post, it must mean he sees everything I share jkfhjkfhjkf. When you hear your voice back on a recording, do you think it sounds awful? No. I don’t usually cringe when I hear it; I think it sounds okay. When was the last time you got the hiccups? Aaaaaaaaages ago. I can’t even tell you when. If you had to, which record would you go into Guinness World Records for? I saw a video on Facebook of this woman getting into Guinness for finishing the most jars of mayonnaise in a certain amount of time (I wanna say 5 minutes?) and I was so thrilled to see such a record cause I can honestly see myself breaking it HAHAHAHAHA mayonnaise is <3 The last sweet thing you ate: What was it? A chocolate chip cookie, except we don’t have chocolate chips so my dad had to improvise and chopped up Flat Tops instead. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to? I’d toy with my second name and probably go with Belle or Bella. Do you have a middle name? Do you find it embarrassing? Yeah I think all Filipinos come with a legal second name. I don’t find mine embarrassing it all; it’s a source of great pride since I have a lot of relatives etched in Philippine history with that name. I don’t ever want to lose it and I’ll probably continue to keep it even after I’m married. What would you choose to be famous for? It’d be nice to be known for a blog. If I had the time, resources, and tbh the connections it would be amazing to write about anything under the sun for an audience. What is your current occupation? Do you enjoy it? I don’t have any at the moment, but I’m about to start looking for one. Do / Did you enjoy school? Why (not)? There are some parts I enjoy/ed (the friends I made for high school, the overwhelming independence I gained in college) and some parts I hate/d (some classes I was forced to take in high school, my inability to adjust during my first year of college). I don’t regret either periods though, and I can never say I completely hated them. If you have a webcam, are you ever paranoid people can see you? Yes hahaha. I never got around to buying a webcam protector either. Do you find it difficult to sleep at night? Any reason(s) why? Only when there’s something unresolved, like a deadline that’s bugging me or if Gab and I have been arguing. Otherwise I’m knocked out in like 10 minutes. If you had to go on a game show, which would you choose? Family Feud or Jeopardy. What about if you had to go on a reality show? Which would you choose then? QUEER EYE. Talk about wholesome. Tell me about your favourite TV show: Blue meth, New Mexico, lots of chemistry, objectively one of the greatest pieces of television ever. Have you ever wished you were born the opposite gender? Why? I probably wished this a few times when I was a pre-teen and liking girly things was still seen as lame. How the hell did we not question mindsets like that before, damn. If you had dental braces, which colour would you make them? I did have braces and I always picked a different color for every trip to the dentist, so it’s very possible I had tried out the entire rainbow. Does any part of your body hurt right now? Where and why? My back hurts rn, understandably, because my posture is shitty. Why were you last irritated? Slow internet. What time did you get up this morning? I think that was already 11 in the morning. The last city you were in: Where was it and do you like it there? Other than my own it was in Pasig. It’s okay but I definitely prefer other cities. It’s a little too crowded and congested for me and also too expensive to stay at, eugh. If I had the choice I’d rather hang in Makati or QC. Do you like the countryside? They’re nice spots for a short vacation, but I wouldn’t want to live there. I’ve grown used to the hustle and bustle of cities. If you see someone yawn, do you often yawn as well? Sure. Recommend me a good movie: Good Will Hunting, Requiem for a Dream (but sad), Roman Holiday, Gone with the Wind, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Do you think you'd make a good model? Would you ever want to be one? I don’t work out or do anything to maintain a certain figure so I don’t have the the ideal body for modeling; if anything the only factor I have going for me is the fact that I’m quite skinny. I did want to be a model when I was a teenager though; that was around the time VS Angels were extremely popular, so I’m not surprised I used to want to be like them. How often do you change your hairstyle? What does it look like now? I only change it up once a year. Right now I have a bit of a bob with bangs. Truth or Dare? Truth. I never have a problem saying the truth lmao. Do you have a favourite day of the week? Which is it? This semester it was Tuesday, because it had my lightest schedule. Nowadays every week is just a blur to me and I stopped having a favorite day.

Who do you think are the most overrated characters in ATLA?
What a controversial question xD Well, probably under the cut, for the best.
DISCLAIMER: if you adore any of the characters on this list, this is NOT an attempt to attack you or your peers, merely criticism on how the fandom behaves regarding certain characters.
Undeniably, the #1 overrated character is Iroh. A lot of people give him much more credit than he’s due, and he’s much more problematic than he seems on first sight. No doubt he has his fair share of good points, but he is far from perfect and he definitely isn’t the soul of the show for me, despite it seems he is for a lot of people. Proof of how overrated he is? His mere reappearance in LOK made people who had dropped the show return to it just because of him. Because SOMEHOW Iroh being there makes it all better.Truth is, no, it doesn’t make LOK all better. But how to argue with people who adore Iroh and refuse to see his faults?Iroh is not all wisdom, and he’s definitely not infallible. He’s also not the strongest firebender ever, sorry not sorry to burst that bubble but it’s a fact. Iroh was very questionable at many points in the show, and his relationship with his family is very complicated to say the least. Assuming he’s the only pure and good person in the Fire Nation Royal Family just because he was nice to Zuko is one of the fandom’s biggest mistakes and one of my biggest gripes with this character’s interpretations. Not because Bryke decided to sanctify him in LOK, and make him the franchise’s most enlightened character of all, does it mean he really was that perfect. A genuine analysis of who he is and what he did during ATLA can prove as much. So… Iroh is very overrated. Very. I’m certainly interested in hearing about his past, as any fan would be, but I do think there are far more important things the show and comics should deal with than expanding on Iroh’s life. People who would rather hear about his past than about the grown-up lives of the Gaang (… or about Azula’s uncertain future) really baffle me as Iroh’s endgame is clearly what the show gave us. Do we really need to know more about his past than we need to know about everyone else’s futures? I’d like to know more about his past, as I said, but it is far from a priority for me compared to every other main character on the show.
Zuko would be my #2, of course, only because Iroh’s fans tend to be louder and more annoying when you get them going. But the constant praise to Zuko’s development, and ESPECIALLY the praise to his extremely flawed redemption that still leaves a ton of room for him to improve, and that also made him worse in many ways, makes me roll my eyes more often than not. That recent viral tweet about him getting the best redemption arc in the history of TV makes me wonder how much TV did that person watch at all. If Zuko’s the best redemption TV can do, I guess we’re really facing a terrible time for television shows.Mainly, Zuko is overrated because, just as Iroh, he’s credited for a ton of things that aren’t true. There’s a lot of problems with his character that go unaddressed, and a lot of people are happy to describe him with a lot of praising adjectives that I have no idea what relation they could possibly have with his character. Proof of the messed-up understanding fans have of Zuko can be found easily in fanfiction: have you ever wondered why Zuko’s characterization varies so drastically from fic to fic? Whether fics trying to portray him in a good light or in a bad one, more often than not it feels like people are portraying him as who they think he should be, and not who he really is. Having a grasp on his character is difficult, way more difficult than many people believe, but it’s on great measure because of how hard so many people have it to actually see his flaws for what they are.I am not saying loving Zuko is a terrible thing, it isn’t, but some people love and praise the idea of him, and not who he really is. Careful, less biased inspection of his character can reveal he leaves a lot to be desired for a man who changed his ways and became the ruler that would bring peace to a nation he hardly knows or understands. His character development is a rollercoaster, and that’s mainly because of how deeply flawed he is: but you ask the fandom and he’s a cinnamon roll who never did anything wrong, or at least, whose every misdeed can and should be blamed on everyone but him. Because he is perfect, and so is his character arc. So, overrated, or misunderstood character? Hell knows, but the fandom really has turned me off Zuko’s character altogether.
The third most overrated character would be Toph, who, for all her great traits, often gets praised as a fully rounded character when, uh… to put it bluntly, out of the five top-billed Gaang members, Toph is the one who evolved the least. Her growth was exclusively about developing more bending skills, about becoming a stronger fighter, but she has some serious personality flaws that are never explored the way they should be. She barely ever faces consequences for her wrongdoings, which are often framed as funny, and when she’s in the middle of serious conflicts, she is absolutely never in the wrong, just as it is with her every conflict with Katara. In the end… she barely grows in anything but power level. Yet you look around and find a ton of people praising her as the greatest character of the franchise. While I see the appeal, and in her case I like her a lot better as a character than either Iroh or Zuko, I also think she’s not given a chance by the story to actually grow, and that stunted her as a character. Which doesn’t seem to bother anyone because she’s praised for anything and everything to no end. I appreciate her comic relief moments, the message she gives in regards of disabilities, but the show could have made better use of her character and didn’t, and nobody really seems to notice or care.
This one’s going to get me stoned I’m sure (if the first ones didn’t already :’DDDD) but my #4 goes to Kyoshi. Yep. You read that right.Kyoshi is no doubt a hardass, I’ve seen a ton of people praising her as the greatest Avatar of all. There’s a million Chuck Norris-esque memes with her, presenting her as the most unstoppable force in the Avatarverse, and you see people everywhere dissing Avatars like Kuruk, for being so lazy, or Roku, for not being decisive, blah blah blah, and saying she’s awesome for being 100% the opposite of that. What these funny people fail to notice, or maybe they simply don’t know the Avatarverse’s timeline, is that Kyoshi allowed Chin the Conqueror to take over the entire Earth Kingdom and only made a move against him to save HER island. She didn’t act until then, allowing Chin to take over whatever the hell he wanted to take during his rebellion, which, as far as I know, was practically the entire continent, with only Kyoshi Island and Ba Sing Se as exceptions. And the whole thing to help the Earth King to deal with the Earth Kingdom’s problems, by creating the Dai Li for his protection? It happened AFTER Chin died, she didn’t even do this to save Ba Sing Se from him because this is posterior to Chin’s mad quest. She did NOT act to protect the Earth Kingdom from a raving, rising tyrant until it affected herdirectly, and didn’t involve herself with the politics of HER OWN NATION until after they had boiled over and the Earth King had a peasant revolt in his hands. If she couldn’t be bothered to move to save her own people until the last moment, what guarantees that she did anything to help anyone else? How is she that great an Avatar?Sure, people think that, since she actually got involved in worldly events no matter how late she did, she was better than Roku or Kuruk. But in Kuruk’s favor he apparently had no war to deal with, and his wife’s loss is an unexpected tragedy for him. Roku actually kept Sozin at bay for years, and Sozin only dared act openly with his conquest of the world once Roku was out of the way. Kyoshi had a major war brewing in her nation and her best idea to deal with it was to split off her island so she wouldn’t have anything more to do with it. Because a separatist mentality is the best way to handle your Avatar duties (the greatest illusion is the illusion of separation, anyone?). Seriously, if Chin had been standing just a bit futher back? If he hadn’t fallen to his death? He probably would have taken Ba Sing Se later anyways and Kyoshi would’ve been chilling in her village until she noticed that the Earth King was dead. Oops.Long story short, Kyoshi is considered way too great for the reality of her actions and decisions. The fandom’s concept on her duty as an Avatar is absurdly messed up, and as cool as her character design is, as great as her displays of power were, she was actually a pretty bad Avatar if you get objective about what she allowed Chin to do for so long. So in my very humble opinion, the fandom’s circlejerk around her is more than undeserved.
I was planning on making this a top 5, but tbh I don’t think anyone else gets acclaim to the extreme in the way these four do. Everyone else seems to have a more moderate fanbase, or at least enough detractors that the people who praise them don’t come off as loud and annoying as they do for these four.
I’m not saying loving any of them is wrong, but there’s such abundance of praise for them, often for things they never even did, let alone for values they never represented, and yet they get interpreted by the fandom in whichever way the fans decide they like best. And somehow, the fanon interpretations grow more popular than what’s really there… which is truly annoying because these characters are fine the way the show actually portrayed them. They’re flawed, they make mistakes, their actions can be judged, they’re far from perfect: yet the fandom would have you believe otherwise.

So my buddy Audrey tagged me back in… June??? Ahem
Rules:
Post the rules
Answer the questions given to you by the tagger
Write 11 questions of your own
Tag 11 people
What are your favorite titles from each: books, movies, and television? Books: We Should All Be Feminists we should all be feminists Film: Hidden Figures there are so many hidden figures in every field Television: How To Get Away With Murder I honestly just find this hilarious *These are all pretty arbitrary tbh lol. It’s not something I’ve ever thought about before and I definitely can’t remember all the book, film, and television titles that I’ve encountered in my life hahaha
What is the song stuck in your head right now? Well, when I was first tagged, it was Fight For Glory by Two Steps From Hell. Today it’s Chances and Heaven Knows, both by Five for Fighting.
What is the one quote that you swear to live by? I don’t really have a quote I ‘swear to live by,’ but this quote from Cindy Lew is one of my favourites: “Remember, the greatest gift is not found in a store nor under a tree, but in the hearts of true friends.”
Would you consider yourself a fight or flight person? Probably flight. I feel like my instinctual response is to fight, but I hate making impulsive decisions and the ‘instinctual response to fight’ is definitely an impulsive decision. I’d likely use the time I gain from ‘flight’ to form a ‘fight’ response should it turn out that ‘fight’ is actually the right way to go.
What is the first thing you usually notice when first meeting someone? Their smile and how firm their handshake is.
What is your idea of a good time? A few close friends and a super chill evening at someone’s apartment.
How would you describe your favorite weather? Sunny blue skies with lazy clouds and a gentle breeze. Probably around 70 degrees with zero humidity and the irreplaceable scent of fresh air.
Would you consider yourself an optimist/realist/pessimist? Definitely an optimist. Life’s too short to be expecting mediocre or subpar realities. One of my working philosophies is that life will work out in the end. It might not work out the way that you want it to, but it’ll work out. Sometimes circumstances will refuse to give you reign, but for the most part, you are the charge of your life, and your decisions and your outlook will drive your future. Enjoy the waking moment, and make plans; take charge of your life. The world will balance out and things will work out. :)
What is your main philosophy for living? Hahaha I think I accidentally answered this question in the above question lol. A few more points: 1) Read, read, and read. There is so much knowledge to be gained about the world and I wish every single day that my brain was capable of holding so much more knowledge than it actually, physically, can. Read into the histories and cultures of other countries. Brush up on the sciences you learned in high school so you don’t forget. Keep up with domestic and international politics, even if it drives you up a wall. 2) It’s okay to procrastinate, just get the job done and get the job done well. Make sure you are proud of your work. And 3) Spend time with friends; make time for friends. Time alone replenishes the body but time with friends replenishes the soul. Well, if you’re an introvert like me lmao
If someone were to give you a chance to change something in your past, what would you change? I’m sure there’s probably something more profound I could choose to change in my past, but my brain immediately zeroed in onto this one fine day in high school during the chaos that is lunch hour. I was walking into the cafeteria with a friend and we were chatting, when all of a sudden this kid walking *out* of the cafeteria gets tripped by this kid sitting at a table and, needless to say, his lunch went flying everywhere. It really just tumbled to the ground. I gave the kid who fell an apologetic grimace but then moved on and every time I think back on this incident I wish I would have stopped and yelled at that asshole kid who did the tripping. I think I think about this because for a moment, I *was* going to say something. But ultimately I didn’t. And I wish I had.
What is your general idea of romance? Honestly I think of romance as synonymous with a deep, platonic love so like… idk lmao. Someone you can trust unconditionally and someone who will be there for you both mentally and physically.
My questions:
Name a few books you hold dear to your heart? Why?
Are you a fan of crossovers? If so, which fandoms would you most like to crossover/build a world for?
Are you a humanities, stem, or both person?
Jon Stuart Mill has a quote: “It is better to be a human being dissatisfied than a pig satisfied; better to be Socrates dissatisfied than a fool satisfied. And if the fool, or the pig, is of a different opinion, it is only because they only know their own side of the question.” A penny for your thoughts on this quote? Do you value truth above happiness or happiness above truth? Is it okay to be ignorant if you get genuine, real, happiness in its stead? Would that be considered selfish? Indulge my pursuit for intellectual conversation just this once … also these are all just questions to get you thinking you don’t actually have to answer every singe one or any of them lol
Favourite bookstore? Alternatively, a favourite place to grab coffee and read/get work done?
What is your otp of otps?
Last thing you watched on YouTube?
What’s the most recent fandom you jumped into?
What do you think is your greatest accomplishment so far?
Earth, air, water, or fire?
What do you want your impact in this world to be? In technology, in the environmental sector, in social justice, in something else? What are you most passionate about?
I tag: @pocket-pickett, @argenttmccall, @atimidtempest, @meshimoon, @lordsardine, and @munchmuffins bc YOU DIDN’T SAY NO TAG BACKS :)
I don’t have any friends who does tumblr think it is asking for 11 people to tag

Hi, Im still high on this episode...I think the acting was superb by Andy and Danai..But its troubling how Rick was saying it might be him that dies. What do you make of that?
I don’t see Rick dying any time soon so I really don’t think there’s any reason to worry about that yet. Andrew Lincoln has top billing, and whether certain groups of people will ever choose to accept it or not, Rick Grimes is the fucking protagonist. With that said, I don’t think he is immortal. I do believe that he’ll end up dying before the end of the show. TWD is one of the highest rated shows on television so it won’t be ending any time soon (I believe I heard something about them claiming to have an outline up to season 12 a little while ago?); but I think Rick could end up being the final death on the show. It started with him and I have no doubt that it will end with him. This wasn’t really a part of the question, but Michonne and Carl and possibly Judith are going to end up being the final survivors in my mind.
Rick’s speech to Michonne in the van was written specifically to come back and haunt him in the finale and eventually, make him eat those words. I have no doubt. We know that Rick and Michonne love each other, and although they have yet to say that in such plain terms, they have both vocalized the idea that they can’t bear to lose each other. Rick telling her that they can lose each other, that even if one of them is gone the other has to go on and lead the family was Rick trying to placate Michonne and him trying to look ahead to the future. It wasn’t an easy thing for Rick to say, but he said it, and even though I do believe that his words were true, he’s going to regret them.
Now I might get a little spoilery, so if you don’t want any spoilers then stop reading here.
I’m sure that most of you guys know by now that Michonne is possibly going to have a near death experience in the finale. Rick has never really had to face the fact that he could lose Michonne. Not to this extent. The lineup, though traumatizing, didn’t result in him having to watch Michonne be brutally murdered right in front of his eyes. But Rick watching the love of his life fall to her death while he sits there, helpless and unable to move? I think that the shock of seeing something that horrific and being made to believe that Michonne is truly dead for however long he does is going to force him to confront the reality of the situation. In that moment, I think Rick will realize just how deep his love runs for this woman. Don’t get me wrong, he is already devoted to her in every way, but being forced to deal with Michonne’s death will make Rick realize that he can’t. And once he finds out that Michonne is actually alive, I’m expecting the greatest reunion scene in walking dead history, tbh. Even better than the Michonne jumping into Rick’s arms in 712. Hell, if I were a betting woman, I would bet that we’ll be getting an “I love you” from Rick and that Michonne will return the favor. It isn’t unlike Gimple and the writers to plan parallels and callbacks far in advance, so there is no doubt in my mind that Rick’s “we can lose each other” speech was written with this exact purpose in mind.
