remember me? - dominik mysterio
Tumblr media
dominik mysterio x gn! reader
word count: 1.8k
warnings: language, angst, blurs kayfabe and real life, readers gender isn’t specified but they face rhea in a tag match, rhea x reader a tiny bit
you were sitting on couch in your dressing room backstage, scrolling through your phone, when a notification popped up. you clicked on it, and a memory from you photos app with the caption “3 years ago today” appeared on your screen.
Tumblr media
it was a photo your best friend… if you could still call him that, had taken on your phone. you smiled sadly, remembering how inseparable the two of you were before he joined the judgement day. you and dominik had been attached at the hip since you met when you were 5 years old, and you had always thought that nothing would ever come between you. if you hadn’t been there to see it with your own two eyes, you would have never believed it if someone told you dominik would turn on his father and join rhea, damian, and finn. you had tried to talk to him, to get him to change his mind, but it had only ended with rhea attacking you in the ring, leading to a tag match between the teams of you and rey, against dom and rhea. with help from the rest of the judgment day, your opponents had got the upper hand and scored the victory.
seeing dominik change from the sweet, gentle guy you had grown up with into what he was now hurt you more than you could bare, and you requested to be moved to smackdown instead of raw to get away from him and the judgment day. your wish had been granted, and it had been months since you talked to dominik. rey had moved to smackdown as well, and you were glad he was away from them; seeing what dom was becoming was hard for you, you couldn’t imagine what it was like for rey. he was convinced that rhea was manipulating his son, and while you wanted to believe that, you worried that dominik had changed on his own. even if you could get through to him - you weren’t sure if you would recognize the man he had become.
you heard a knock at the door, and looked at the time, 8:39pm, which meant smackdown was almost over. you assumed it was zelina, who you traveled with most of the time, and if you had known who was really on the other side of the door, you wouldn’t have opened it.
dominik stood with his hands in his pockets, and you strongly considered slamming the door in his face, but you could still see the same sparkle in his eyes that had always been there as he smiled at you, and couldn’t bring yourself to do it.
“hey,” he said softly. you raised an eyebrow, as if to ask what he wanted. “can i come in?” you didn’t say anything, your head and your heart fighting over how to answer. “please parajito,” he pleaded. ‘little bird’ had always been his nickname for you, and your heart ached hearing it again.
“you don’t get to call me that,” you finally spoke, standing your ground.
“i just want to talk to you,” he said, raising his hands to plead his innocence.
“i have nothing to say to you,” you said sadly.
“you don’t have to say anything. just listen, okay?” he gave his best puppy dog eyes, and you let him speak.
“okay, let’s hear it.”
“i want you to join the judgment day,” he said, and you laughed.
“goodbye, dominik,” you said, shaking your head as you went to shut the door, but he stopped it with his hand.
“wait! please, you said you would listen,” he insisted, and you sighed.
“fine,” you crossed your arms over your chest. “you have 2 minutes.”
“think about it, y/n. you and me working together, the judgment day by our side; we would be unstoppable. i talked with the others and they agree that you would be a great addition to the group. things could go back to how they were with us. i want my best friend back.”
“dominik - this isn’t you!” you said, pointing to the judgment day logo on his hoodie. “they’re manipulating you. because if they’re not i really don’t know who you are anymore.”
“you know me better than anyone,” he argued, and you shook your head.
“what you did to your dad, your mom, aalyah-“
“don’t pretend like they didn’t have it coming, you saw first hand. my dad was never there for me growing up.”
“dominik, i’m not going to argue with you about your family-“
“judgment day is my family now,” he interjected. “and i want you by my side out there. come back to raw, and be apart of my new familia,” he begged, taking your hands softly in his. you tried to pull away, but didn’t fight very hard as he held onto you. he dropped your one hand to pull something out of his pocket, and you sighed as he tied a purple bandana around your wrist. “think about it,” he repeated, and you pulled your hands from his grip.
“your two minutes is up,” you said, closing the door in his face.
“i’ll see you monday!” he called through the door, and you sighed, sitting down on the couch and pulling your knees up under you chin. you scrolled through more memories your phone had brought up. you looked down at your wrist, and closed your eyes, leaning your head back on the back of the couch.
you weren’t really even considering it; right? you thought, running your hands over your face.
you wanted more than anything to have your best friend back, but you weren’t sure if he was still in there somewhere, or if he had been corrupted to the point where he could no longer be saved.
•••
monday had rolled around, and you paced around your hotel room, still thinking about what dominik had said. was joining the judgment day what it would take to get dominik back? was it worth it to turn your back on all of your friends on smackdown; to side with the enemy?
you looked at the time, your eyes landing on the purple bandana on the dresser, before you read 6:41 pm on the clock. raw was starting soon, and you had to make your decision now. you grabbed you stuff and headed to you car to drive to the arena, hoping that whatever you decided, you were making the right choice.
•••
all four members of the judgement day were standing in the ring, arguing with kevin, sami, and cody when your music hit, and you made your way down to the ring. you got in the ring, cody holding the rope for you to step over, and you stood face to face with dominik. he had a worried look in his eyes as you currently stood on the side of the enemy, and rhea stepped between the two of you, nose to nose with you.
“y/n…” kevin started, but rhea shot him a glare.
“shut up,” rhea snapped, before locking eyes with you again. “well, do you have an answer for us?” she asked, and you took a step back, giving you enough room to remove your ring jacket. everyone in the ring prepared for a fight. only dom noticed the purple bandana around your wrist, and cody was shocked as you turned around and knocked him to the ground; you had chosen your side.
as rhea went after the fallen cody, damian and finn locked up with sami and kevin. dominiks arms wrapped around your waist from behind, as he pulled you into his arms and into the corner of the ring away from the fight. dominik turned you to face him, his hands on your shoulders.
“you’re with us?” he asked, and you nodded.
“i’m with you,” you agreed, and he threw his arms around you, hugging you tight to his chest. you laughed, a sinking feeling in your stomach as you realized exactly how much you had missed him. the rest of judgment day had chased their opponents out of the ring, leaving just the five of you standing.
“i missed you, parajito,” he spoke into your ear, and you held onto him even tighter. you finally separated and rhea looked at you, an unreadable expression on her face. she threw an arm around dom’s shoulders, and then to your surprise, the other around yours.
“welcome to the judgement day,” she grinned, and you smiled. you had to admit, you were shocked at how welcome you felt in the group. dominik had said they all wanted you to join, but you were worried that his relationship, whatever it was, with rhea, might complicate things. but rhea could tell how much dominik meant to you, and admittedly, she had taken a liking to you almost immediately. “you’re mine now,” rhea smirked, holding you and dom close as he laughed.
“relax, mami, no one’s gonna steal them from you,” he smiled. damian and finn joined the group hug, and you realized that dom was telling the truth, they really were a family.
the judgment day music stopped as adam pearce came down the ramp, microphone in hand.
“excuse me, this is all very touching. y/n as you are a member of the smackdown roster, you cannot join a faction belonging to the raw roster without yourself moving to monday nights - is that what you want.” rhea pulled you behind her, already protective of the new member of her group.
“that’s what i want,” you confirmed, and dom wrapped his arms around your waist and rested his chin on your shoulder.
“i will see what i can do,” adam sighed, and rhea hugged you again, and you had to admit you felt safe in her arms. you had made the decision to join the judgment day to get your best friend back, but perhaps in doing so you had gained three more. dom smiled at you, and you felt him lace his fingers with yours as rhea clung to your other side.
“what do you think, dom? can we share them?” she asked, and he laughed.
“that’s up to them,” he said, kissing the side of your head innocently. you had never imagined that after only a few minutes, you would feel such a connection to the group.
damian and finn held the ropes so you, dom, and rhea could exit the ring, and the five of you headed backstage together.
“i think mami likes you,” dom whispered in your ear, as rhea still hadn’t let go of you.
“i could get used to it,” you smiled, and she returned it.
“what do you say boys? should we show them how we celebrate in the judgment day?”
“you know it,” damian smirked, fist bumping dominik.
“welcome to the family, y/n,” finn said.
“thank you guys,” you smiled, looking at each of them before finally your eyes landed on dom.
“maybe now dom with shut up about missing you all the time,” damian teased.
“c’mon man,” he blushed, and you laughed, using your still intertwined hands to pull him into your side, and you all laughed.
“i missed you too.”

OK OK BUT WHAT ABOUT A STEDDIE MEAN GIRLS AU.
Steve as Cady
Eddie as Janis
Robin as Damian
Carol as regina
Heather as Gretchen
Chrissy as karen
Chrissys mom is obviously June
Tommy as Aaron
Steve's parents are hopper and joyce
Here's a start:
He finally finally kisses Tommy. And its.. not at all what he expected. Sure it's nice and Steve's not really complaining but something just doesn't feel right. He pulls back to think but Tommy pulls him back in. Before he realizes it he's thinking about Eddie. OMG. Eddie. His art show. He missed it. Shit!
Steve frantically pulls away. "I- I gotta go." He says as he goes to grab his shoes. Tommy looks confused and stands up. "What? I thought you wanted this?" He asks a bit irritated. "I do- I do. I really do. I just kinda ditched my friend." Steve tells him in hopes it'll get Tommy to stop questioning him.
He doesn't really mean it he realizes. After all this time he starts to think he never even wanted Tommy in the first place. He doesnt let himself think further and just puts his shoes on. 5 seconds later he's rushing out of his room and down the stairs. He doesn't listen to Tommy's protests and just keeps running.
Steve collides into something. Or someone. "What the fuck, Steve!" The voice of the person he bumped into says. He looks up and realizes its Eddie. "Eddie! What are-" He gets cut off. "Where were you?! I waited for two hours!" He practically yells at Steve, voice filled with anger, hurt, and, most importantly, betrayal.
Steve is stunned for a second. Trying to take this time to collect himself. Steve looks away from him noticing Robin standing next to Eddie. Her arms are crossed and her face is full of disappointment. He feels a pang in his heart knowing he really fucked up.
"I- I can't believe this right now. You threw a party instead of supporting your real friend and to top it all of you didn't even invite us." Eddie says, eyes glazing over with tears.
"I couldn't invite you. I had to pretend to be plastic." He defends but he knows it won't make any difference.
Eddie laughs wetly at him, "Oh, Stevie, you're not pretending anymore. You're plastic. Cold, hard, shiny plastic." He tells Steve practically laughing at him.
"I hate to interupt, but um it's one in the morning and I have a curfew. So if we could please wrap this up that would be great." Robin adds frantically.
Eddie starts backing away from him and Steve follows him. "Did you have an awesome time?" Eddie adds condescendedly, "Did you drink awesome shots, and listen to awesome music, and then just sit around and soak up each other's awesomeness?!" He asks with anger and sarcasm dripping from his voice.
"You know what? You made me like this so you could use me for your eight grade revenge." Steve tells Eddie starting to get irritated with the way he's tlaking to him.
"God! See at least me and Carol Perkins know we're mean. You try to act so innocent." Eddie retorts meanly, all the anger and betrayal seeping through his voice. "Like 'oh I used to live in Africa. With all the little monkeys and the little birdies.'" He mocks Steve.
Steve is getting really fucking pissed and he doesn't really mean what he says. He just says it.
"It's not my fault your like in love with me or something. No wonder they call you a freak!" He almost screams it at him. Steve's breathing hard as he stares at Eddie.
"What?!" Eddie screams.
"Oh no he did not!" Robin says appalled.
"See? That is the thing with you plastics. You think that everybody is in love with you, when actually everybody hates you!" Eddie yells voice now screeching with malice and hatred.
"Take Tommy Hagan, for example. He broke up with Carol and guess what? He still doesn't want you!" He yells at Steve with all he has. Steve can't say anything too speechless and caught up in the moment to say a word.
"So why? Why Steve? Why are you still messing with Carol?" Eddie asks rhetorically, "I'll tell you why. Because you're a mean person, Steve. You're a dick!" He screams at him.
Eddie's eyes are now filled to the brim with tears but he won't let them fall. He reaches behind him as Robin hands him something. "Here. You can have this. It won a prize." Eddie says as he throws the thing at Steve and walks away without another word.
"And I want pink shirt back!" Robin yells behind her as she walks away from him too. Eddie smacks her shoulder but it doesn't stop her from making sure he got the message. "I want it back, Steven!" She yells behind her shoulder again this time Eddie doesn't stop her, he just keeps his eyes forward as they walk.
They're soon out of view when Steve picks up the big canvas, he assumes, is the one Eddie entered in the art show. When he looks at it, it's the most beautiful painting of him he's ever seen. Even if no one has ever painted him before its still gorgeous. Steve starts to sob, right there, in the middle of his driveway. He brings the canvas to his chest and drops to his knees.
He really needs to fix this.
Also dedicating this to the Robin to my Steve since they think I read too much smut here's a little angst drabble your welcome <3: @shooison
Here's the second part: Part 2

Lace & Leather [a Damian Priest story] 3 Trouble
Katja POV
Today was the day that had been worked towards for a few weeks. Just thinking about it almost made my stomach turn. I was terrified of messing it up. And Damian looking so great in his all-black suit didn't help me calm my nerves one bit.
All eyes were on me as we started filming the backstage segment. Now I had to pull myself together and hope that the microphone couldn't pick up my heartbeat, because by God, it was up to my neck.
"Katja... it's a pleasure to see you. I'm looking forward to watching your match. Have you thought about what we talked about?" Damian asked me, coming up behind me as I warmed up for the match.
I tried to swallow and find my voice as the cameraman came closer.
"I... I'm not sure it's the best thing for me yet." I replied, not even having to try to sound intimidated. Since I actually was, it wasn't a big deal.
"You can accomplish so much more if you leave behind your nice, sweet.... innocent ways. You're a rising star, Kat. But you'll never get far if you don't make sacrifices. Stop trying to please everyone. Join our movement and become more. Rise above the ordinary. Let us help you do that," Damian said as he stood close to me. His voice sounded seductive and low. His eyes sparkled, even in the dim light here in this hallway I could see it.
I stared up at him without saying anything. Barely able to breathe, I waited for it to continue as he carefully took my hand in his strong hands. He lifted my hand and looked at it closely while drawing small circles on the back of my hand with his thumb. A knowing smirk played around his mouth. He knew exactly what he was doing, I didn't have the slightest doubt about that. Even though I had no experience with it.
"Become the pain in the side of the women's division. Prove to them and everyone else that you were born to be something more. I know what you're capable of, Katja. And I know how much everyone underestimates you. This has to end. Let them be jealous. Together we will create something bigger than all the haters in the world," he finally continued and then brushed a strand of my hair over my shoulder with one hand as he slowly leaned towards me.
"Embrace your dark side, Katja. I know it's in you. Embrace it. Take my side and you will experience how delicious it is to hand out punishment. Use your true potential without anyone holding you back. Join us." Damian whispered now, his voice vibrating in his chest. He was so close to me that I could feel it. His mouth hovered over mine as our lips almost touched.
Then, an unbearable second later, he pressed his mouth onto mine. I was surprised at the sheer force behind this kiss. He pulled me closer to him so that we were almost one. I inhaled his sweet breath and was immediately intoxicated. The kiss became more intense with every second that passed until I didn't really know where I was anymore.
When Damian broke away from me, I noticed that my arms had wrapped around his neck without me noticing that I had done so. I looked into his dark and very satisfied eyes as he eventually cleared his throat. He probably remembered that we were being filmed.
"What do you say, Kat?" he rasped.
"Tell Edge I'll let him know as soon as I can," I replied in a surprisingly firm voice.
Damian raised his hand and slowly wiped my lip with the tip of his index finger.
"I didn't ask because of him, gatita. I asked because of me. I want you by my side." he said, winking at me, and then strode away with long steps.
I looked after him and didn't even hear the director shout 'cut'. My emotions were all over the place, because to be honest, the whole thing felt too real to be acted. God, he was good.
As for me? I was in deep, deep trouble. My body was making that unmistakably clear to me.

Jason worrying the bats will say something to Danny, tell him what Jason’s really like, and Danny will believe them
Danny, vaguely knowing Jason’s dad rejected him in the “leaves a cut throat scar” way, worrying about meeting his family cuz what if they hate him but also what if he accidentally ectoblasts said dad in the face
Jason, wondering how he can adopt Danny and keep him as family forever, worrying Bruce will try and swoop in and take him cuz who the fuck would win in court, Dead Guy or Bruce Wayne
Danny, who has already legally ghost adopted Jason wondering how to let his new dad know that… yeah, that’s a thing and you have to keep me forever now cuz I’m keeping you
Danny, afraid Jason will stop liking him when he’s not cute and little anymore, playing up the little kid things like the lisp and big sad eyes when he’s worried
Jason, fucking catching on IMMEDIATELY that Danny is doing this, extremely wary when Danny is just regular sleepy or happens to be cute, scooping him up for cuddles cuz he can’t SAY I would never leave you I would never reject you I love you
Danny, who has never felt this loved and cherished, wondering how the fuck to ask Jason if he can save Jazz too
Dick teaches Danny to do backflips and he’s just climbing tables, shelves, all household furniture to practice and the kid can fly but fucking hell Dick you know you only survived your childhood by coincidence
Steph buys Jason a reinforced butterfly net to catch Danny with as an apology. It gets daily use
Everyone tries to treat Danny as an innocent little baby but then he opens his mouth and university level astronomy and physics comes out
Do Not Patronise Baby Danny. Jason will just smile and watch as said baby eats you alive
Damian discovering it is actually fucking great to not be the baby of the family anymore, even more possessive of Danny than Jason
I’ve had this idea in my head for days now and it just won’t LEAVE so here have scraps
So we know those de-aged au’s with Danny right, and the ones where Jason adopts him? YESSSSSS so anyways the thing that’s been ravaging my brain like an anteater on crystal meth is:
So all night has been pretty shit for Jason. Drug dealers, a couple muggings (who even goes out anymore in crime alley, at this time of night???????) and some human traffickers. You know, the usual. So anyways he’s pissed. Not to mention when he comes across some bastard who’s beating his family, jason promptly broke his legs in a couple new ways he liked. Later, deep into the night he’s already seeing a bit of green around the edges and he’s already called in dick to cover some areas while he cools off, so, naturally, as it is in crime alley, something goes horribly wrong that gets him pissed. Beyond pissed. He sees green and only when dick drags him away does he see some red too. A lot of red.
Fuck.
Well, he knows exactly what he has to do, so he pushed dick off of him and starts roof-hopping over to his apartment (where did his bike go?) and dick calls in the others thinking Jason’s going for more weapons/ammo or smthn, and Jason gets to his lil place and carefully opens a window, trying to be quiet because even though he’s in a killing mood he doesn’t want to wake Danny up, what kind of monster would do that?
Anyways Jason’s taking a moment with his helmet off, leaning his arms against the counter to calm himself down taking deep breaths he learned from Danny yes okay he learned from his son when Tim and dick crash through and Jason gets a little more pissed because those assholes probably just woke up Danny!
So here’s Tim and dick wrestling with Jason to get his weapons off of him and calm him down when all of a sudden the lights flick on and there’s a little boy, around 6, with a messy mop black hair and loose space-themed pajamas, rubbing his eyes as he clearly just woke up. everyone freezes in place and Danny looks around, his eyes adjusting to the light before he looks at Jason and–
“Dad? What’s going on?” He asks so innocently with a tilt of his head. While his brothers are stunned to silence Jason shrugs them off as hard as he can (they woke up his son) and walks over to Danny. Dick and tim lurch foreward but Jason just picks up Danny and places him on his hip. Danny reaches forward and carefully pulls off his dads domino and holds it in his hand while he frowns. “Green monsters are being angry again?” And Jason just sighs with his son (his son!!) in his arms and looks at danny; dick and Tim now seeing the green almost completely gone from his eyes.
“Yeah bud. No big deal though, alright? The green monsters are all gone now. So come on, it’s past your bedtime Danny.” To which Danny groans and he turns to look at the two others in the room who are bewildered as fuck because does Jason have a kid????? W h e n?? H o w??? Okay they know how they really don’t but that’s not the point
Anyways they stand there for a minute while Jason puts Danny to bed and when Jason comes back out he stares at them in silence. Then he just *sighs* and stares them dead in the eyes “yes, I have a kid. Yes, he quiets the pit. Yes, it’s past his bedtime. And yes,” Jason cocks his gun, “you both will be getting out of my apartment. right now. Silently.”
Yeah, they guess questions can wait till tomorrow

The Bet
Bio Dad Bruce Wayne Month Day 11: Robin/ Vigilantes and Day 16: Surprise Visitor
ao3
@maribat-bdbwm
Marinette looks up from her work to see movement outside her window. She glances at the clock, she hadn't realised it was late enough for the vigilantes to start their patrol.
Standing up, she stretches, considering what to do next for a few seconds before she moves to the kitchen. She makes herself a cup of tea and grabs some snacks before heading to her balcony.
There's a dark figure a few rooftops away, she assumes it's the same person who had crossed her window a few minutes ago. She wonders who it is, too short to be Jay or her dad but too tall to be Damian or Duke but in the darkness she can't make out which one of the others it is.
It's funny, she thinks, how if seven years ago you had told Marinette she'd be back in Gotham for university and on good terms with her family she'd have laughed and dismissed it as ridiculous. Though, in all fairness, seven years ago had been when she’d moved a whole ocean away because she blamed her father for her brother’s death. She’s glad to be back though. Somehow this crime ridden city is her home. Paris is too, in it’s own way. And Paris had been good, great even, until it wasn’t.
There are many things she loves and misses about Paris, her friends and family for one but she certainly doesn’t miss the presence of Hawkmoth.
There’s a soft thud behind her, and Marinette turns to find Black Bat there. Not the vigilante she had expected today, but her siblings are unpredictable. Wordlessly she passes her the plate of snacks. Cass mumbles a thank you as she starts to eat.
“Sorry, I brought out only Damian’s snacks. I thought he was patrolling here today.”
Cass only hums, happily eating.
A few minutes later Robin drops onto the balcony and seems unsurprised at Cass’ presence. Regardless, he grumbles a bit before joining Cass.
The other two are almost done when Marinette spots someone on her rooftop. She frowns, there was either a confusion with the patrol routes or her siblings were up to something. Knowing them, the latter was more likely.
A second later Red Robin has joined them and is gawking at the others. Both Cass and Damian are snickering. Marinette only sighs, “Ok, what’s going on with you guys?”
“Bet,” Cass says, grinning, “I won.”
Marinette assumes she isn’t going to get anymore information. Raising an eyebrow she asks, “Should I be expecting the rest of the family as well?”
“Maybe Duke and Steph,” Tim answers. “B, Dick and Jason don’t know and Babs said she’d come by another night.”
Marinette grumbles, “I want new siblings.”
Cass laughs, “You love us.”
“Who said I make good decisions?” Sighing again, she says, “Fine. I’ll go get more snacks. And I don’t have coffee either Tim, Dick is on a warpath.”
Tim only groans.
When she returns there are more people on her balcony. Both Steph and Duke grin when they see her.
Handing them the snacks she says, “I didn’t know you were skipping out on morning patrol Duke.”
Duke smiles in faux innocence, “I have school during the morning, remember Mars? I’m an excellent student.”
She snorts, “It’s been a while since a Wayne took their education seriously.”
Both Tim and Cass smile shameless while Damian goes on a long-winded rant about how he did in fact pay attention to his education but school is useless and there’s nothing new to learn and- Jason jumps onto the balcony far too close to Damian, effectively stopping his tirade.
The younger boy glares, “Be careful.”
Marinette glares at Tim, “You said Jay wasn’t coming.” Tim simply shrugs, “I don’t know how he found out,” at the same time Jason says, “Aww Pixie, did you not want me here?”
Marinette closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.
Murder is bad, she reminds herself. She loves her siblings. She doesn’t want them to die.
“I would have liked to have been informed that my balcony was apparently a meeting spot now.”
Steph offers her an apologetic smile that Marinette doesn’t trust in the least, “Sorry Mari, we’ll be sure to let you know next time.”
She doesn’t bother with a reply.
Tim pokes Jay with his staff, “How did you find out?”
Jason grins, “The demon brat let slip that there was a bet-” Marinette watches as every head on the balcony turns to glare at Damian who only crosses his arms and glares back, “and Babs can be bribed for not serious information with blackmail on Dick.”
Steph groans, “I can’t be mad at Babs.”
Tim looks curious, “Why not?”
“Because it’s Babs!”
He nods, “Fair enough.”
Her doorbell rings, and all seven of them freeze. She rushes inside, pulling the curtains close behind her and opens the door.
It's Dick.
She relaxes instantly. He notices her relief as well and asks, “Is everything fine Mari? Should I call the others as well?”
Marinette snorts at that and Dick only looks more concerned. Shutting her door behind him, she drags him to her balcony.
The others all wave with varying levels of energy.
Her eldest brother pouts, “You all came to visit Mari without me?”
“It wasn’t really planned,” Marinette explains, “They just kept showing up.”
Duke smirks, “We’re annoying like that.”
Dick sighs, “At least I’m here now.”
Steph holds out a plate, “Cookies?”
He brightens immediately, “Sure!”
She joins her siblings in their joking and teasing, catching up with the few that she hasn’t spoken to recently. Damian informs her about the ongoings of the Manor, Jay tells them about his more chaotic and hilarious activities as a crime boss, Steph goes on about college. It’s nice. It’s been a while since most of them have been in one place together.
They’re listening to a story about Jon and Damian's latest adventure (from Steph) when Cass pokes her in the side and points to something. Turning to look she finds Batman’s shadow looking over her siblings and the others have started to notice too. However, none of them say anything.
Marinette smiles, B probably won’t come down, content to perch over all his children like some weird protective bird. So, they continue, laughing and chattering, not minding the last surprise visitor of the night.

In the Dark
Masterlist
Marinette saw Damian headed down the hallway and she quickly turned down the back hallway and slipped into a costume closet. She had already had a long rough day with one of the supporting actresses causing a series of problems that somehow were all Marinette's fault. She did not need to deal with Damian as she was headed out the door. He was arrogant and always found something to complain about and it was usually about her. They had gotten off on the wrong foot and now the only thing she had ever seen him happy about was her being unhappy.
She only planned to be here for a moment but she heard him curse as his footsteps moved past the hallway and then move quickly down into the hall and the closet door opened. She pushed back into the corner hoping whatever he needed was in the front and he wouldn’t see her. She couldn’t imagine what he would need to get from there anyway. He had made it very clear that as the star of the show everyone should be meeting his needs and he had no need to know where to find his costumes or props.
Instead of getting something out of the closet he opened the door and stepped in, closing the door behind him. She had no time to shift away or any way to hide that she was in there. She held her breath and backed into the corner. She couldn’t fathom why he had followed her into here anyway. He shifted the costumes and pushed himself right into the corner until he was against her. There was nowhere for her to escape to, she let out a startled squeak as he pressed himself into her.
---
Damian could not stand Cecile. She was vapid and loud. She never had an end to her questions or ideas. She had gotten a good supporting part in the movie, but she was not a lead role for which she constantly complained. He did his best to avoid her off set but she had a habit of showing up everywhere. Honestly the entire movie was a waste and he wished he could get out of his contract. The other lead was fine. They had little interaction outside of the set and she did well with the part. Everyone else on the cast and crew were extremely tiresome with the exception of one costume designer. She was an apprentice and this was her first project on her own but it was overseen by her mentor. She was efficient and had a great eye. She had a hesitancy and stammering manner but she didn’t fawn over him like many of the others did.
Cecilie had been even more insufferable today than usual after catching Damian not listening to her because he got distracted watching the costume designer, Marinette. When Damian heard Cecile loudly talking about how she was looking for him so they could leave together and check out the new tapas place he panicked slightly. He did not want to deal with her anymore so he rushed down the back hallway and through the first door he saw. He pulled the door closed behind himself. He was moving too quickly for the small space. He thought it was an office or workspace but it turned out to be a small closet. A very small closet and it was pretty full of costumes. He tried to halt his movements and remain silent. He ended up right in the corner, or would have if someone was not already occupying it.
The other person made a startled eeep sound and he covered her mouth before they could be discovered. They were silent and listening as Cecile wandered around shouting for Damian. He was so focused on listening for her that he didn’t realize for several moments that his hand was still covering the mouth of the other person. There was no light in the closet so he wasn’t sure who was in here with him, or why. Hopefully they could be persuaded to refrain from mentioning this incident if he offered the right incentive.
---
Marinette was certain the loud sound of her beating heart would give them away. She would probably have been breathing heavier but Damian’s had covered her mouth and his other arm had moved to the back of her head holding her head still. She didn’t dare try to get him to stop. She quickly figured out why he had jumped in here and it had nothing to do with her. She could hear one of the other actresses screeching around looking for him. She couldn’t blame his escape, especially since she had just done the same. Maybe she could convince him that she was also hiding from the odious woman. She was pretty nasty to Marinette and honestly she might have made the same choice if she thought the woman was looking for her.
She could feel every one of his muscles tensed against her as Cecile continued screeching out Damian's name. She would never give him the satisfaction of saying how that made her feel. He had already wanted his distaste at her mentioning anything about how the costume would look on him or display his muscles. She had just been making conversation while getting measurements but he had mistaken her inquiries about the costume's fit and material preferences as trying to make a pass at him. He told her to just do her job and leave her personal opinions out of it so she had just made the best choices she could without his input then or in the future. If he wanted to be a diva she would wait for the complaints.
Marinette shifted in his hold. She was right against his chest but she was still holding herself back into the corner with her arms at her sides. It had been quiet for several minutes when Damian released the pressure from her mouth pulling his hand away. His other hand seemed to release the back of her head slowly, almost threading through her stray hairs. She stayed rigid in the corner and she still remained silent. She didn’t know the protocol for greeting a person you randomly hid in a closet with, maybe she could find a book or a humorous blog post about it. He seemed uninterested in coming up with small talk and simply turned away from her and turned the door handle. Then he twisted it again with the same result. Several more times before he seemed to accept that there was a problem.
---
“It's locked,” he said.
“No, are you sure?”
“If you can manage to open it, be my guest.”
Damian felt the woman shift and he turned so she could reach the door. Same result. It wouldn’t twist. That didn’t stop her from trying several more times and then making an irritated sound before rattling the door against the jamb.
“I’ve left my phone in the dressing room. Use yours to call someone to let us out.”
“My phone is in my office. But great news. I have the keys. Unfortunately the lock is on the other side of the door.”
“That is useless.” he sounded angry. “Why were you in here anyway?”
“This is a costume closet. I have every right to be here.” she said. “You are the one who followed me in and locked the door.”
This gave him the information to place her voice which helped make sense of her having an office instead of a dressing room. He didn't think she would accept any bribery from him to keep quiet but fortunately it was because he didn't think Marinette was the type to talk about any of the cast or crew. He had heard her be asked questions by reporters before and she always expertly sidestepped the questions to focus on aspects to promote the movie or her own work on the costumes.
He wasn't sure how to bring anything up with her. He had his first meeting with her directly after the initial meeting with the cast that has reporters. He had gotten along great with the other lead Amy and her husband at the meeting but that is when he first met Cecilie. He had been very grateful to get away from her for a quiet fitting but on her first day Marinette was distracted and fumbling. He had later found out she hadn't been told to be there at all and had rushed in to get measurements. He had been her first fitting and he was already in a foul mood. Her innocent questioning felt too personal so he scolded her harshly.
---
She released the handle and turned away from the door, bumping into him in the process. He stepped back from her but he was against the wall so he reached out and nudged her away. Marinette stumbled when he pushed her and hit the wall on the other side. She pushed against it to keep herself up. She tried to smooth out the costumes so they would not be damaged in the small space. She felt around trying to think through everything that was located in this closet. She was hoping something would prove useful for their current predicament. She didn’t even realize she was talking quietly to herself until he asked about it.
“What are you muttering about?” he asked.
“I’m trying to inventory the costumes to see if there is anything here that can help us get out of here,” she said.
“I thought you were very professional until I found you hiding in a closet and now muttering to yourself.”
Marinette turned quickly to confront him. How dare he suggest she was the one being unprofessional when he had tried the same thing. She turned on him quickly. Too quickly. She slipped on a piece of fabric when she spun back towards him and stumbled. Her arms flailed out and grabbed for anything to keep her from tumbling. She cringed as she felt herself grasp at the costumes but she couldn’t seem to stop it. She made a series of noises to go along with the sounds of the hangers being yanked to the side.
But then she felt his arms go around her and pull her back to her feet. She latched onto him in an attempt to stay upright but he had lunged too far. She was only on her feet for a split second before he crashed into her and they both fell down into a heap. He was fully on top of her and she twisted to try to get free of his weight. Like a game of Twister she realized her back was on top of one of his arms and her legs were tangled in his.
His chest lifted as he shifted against her. She tried to move again but she could not get her arms under her with his weight on top of her. She froze as his hand moved against her and down the outer part of her skirted side and leg. She pulled away from his hand causing both of them to collapse back down again. His arms pulled her against him tightly as he started twisting. She struggled against him until he told her to stop. She froze again and he flipped them over until he was sitting with his back against the wall with her straddling his lap.
---
Damian was regretting not just letting her fall. He could hear her flailing and reached out without thinking but now they were on the ground tangled together. She seemed to be panicking so he took charge. He felt around a bit to find out how they were tangled before making his move. She was not cooperating with any of his attempts to get them apart. She was doing the exact opposite of what they needed to do to get back to their feet.
“You are making everything worse. Just hold still,” he growled.
Finally she stopped and he was able to lift her to him and turn them both over. Now she was on top of him but they were in a better position to get untangled. His hands were resting at her hips as she moved forward, leaning against his chest. Everything in him told him to wrap his arms around her and keep her close to him but she pushed off and got back to her feet. He was shocked that he missed the feel of her against him. He chose to ignore that and pushed himself to his feet.
She was already back to going through the costumes to find a way out of here. He considered what would have happened if he became locked in a closet with almost any other woman who had been around today. He didn’t think that any of them would be trying very hard to get out. They would probably be trying to find a way to get closer to him.
---
Marinette tried to contain her breathing so Damian would not notice how affected she was. She had to get out of this closet. It was not doing her any good being this close to him. She was shaking remembering the feeling of his body on top of hers and then shifting until she was on his lap, against his chest. She had known he was attractive. That was clearly printed in every magazine that had ever had a photo set of him. But being pressed against his muscles was very different from taking his measurements and checking the fit of his costumes. She just had to remind herself that he hated her.
She had gone through all the costumes on the first row and she hadn’t come up with any brilliant ideas. A couple of the costumes had pins in them that might be used to push into the back of the lock to force the mechanism open but she didn’t think any of them were stored here. She wondered if the hangers could force the handle open. They were pretty sturdy. She moved back to check the costumes to decide which ones would be least harmed by not being on a hanger for a bit. She found 3 that should work and so she went through the process of removing them.
---
“You’ve had an idea,” Damian said.
He had taken a moment to calm himself after he stood back up but suddenly her movements felt feverish and hurried. He could tell she was working on some sort of plan even without being able to see her.
“I’m getting hangers. I think they could be used as a lever to force the handle open.”
“That sounds possible. How can I help?”
“I think it will have to be you doing all of the work. I’m not tall enough to put the pressure in the right spot.”
Damian reached out for her to get the hanger. Her hand pulled back suddenly when their fingers touched. He wasn’t sure how to react to that. He wasn’t one to be overly touchy and definitely not pushy about the feelings he thought might be developing but it was unexpected. Before he had time to consider further she had pushed it back and it poked into his chest and he was able to get it from her.
He reached out for the door handle and settled the hanger over it to apply the pressure. It was very tight and he could feel the handle turning but when he added a bit more pressure the handle snapped. He cursed while Marinette checked to see if it had opened. She made a disappointed noise and handed him the next hanger. Possibly he was a bit too frustrated because it snapped almost immediately. The broken wood jammed into his forearm. Marinette tried to pull his arm into the thin strip of light coming under the door.
“I don’t think it broke the skin but it will probably have scratches or bruising.”
He made a noncommittal noise and tried not to focus on her fingers gliding along his skin. It didn’t even hurt that bad any more. It had just been a sudden pain. But he found he liked being the target of her concern. He reached out to stop her fingers on his arm. She sucked in a breath at the unexpected contact and pulled back. He could practically feel her shake herself out of a daze. They were too close to hide much of anything in here. He just wasn’t sure if she was reacting to his touch in a good way or just trying to get away from him.
He instead focused on getting them out of there.
---
Marinette jumped when Damian grabbed her hand from his injured arm. She had completely lost all thought about what she was doing. He had never given her any sign that he wanted her to continue touching him beyond the initial check of his injury. Luckily he could not see her face heat up in the dark. She pulled away quickly so he wouldn’t notice how much she just wanted to hold onto his hand. His focus had returned to the door handle so that is where she would focus too. She was too quiet for him to hear her stammering apologies but just handed off the final hanger she had gotten. She could tell the difference with this attempt immediately. The handle was making a noise as it turned and Damian was adjusting it as it moved so the hanger wouldn’t snap.
Then just like that, the handle fell to the ground with a clatter. Marinette couldn’t contain her excitement. She laughed with joy and grabbed Damian and pulled him into a tight hug. She hardly even noticed that he was hugging her back because she was bouncing around. She didn’t notice until the hug didn’t end when she expected. She tended to be a hugger so she was accustomed to pulling back when the other person pulled back but after the excited feeling was washing away she started to step back only to realize that he was still holding on. His head tilted into the crook of her neck before with one final squeeze he slid away slowly. Marinette had to hold onto the wall for a moment when he released because her knees were suddenly too weak to hold her up.
---
Damian held her in his arms and wished the feeling could never end. He didn’t often hug people. He rarely enjoyed it when he did, aside from a few close family members and friends. But holding Marinette in his arms just felt right. She fit against him. He could feel her pulling back but they were about to be out of the space and he may never be close to her like this again. He tightened his hold for just a second before releasing her slowly. He hoped she couldn’t feel how hard his heart was beating just now or that she would not tell everyone how he gave awkward long hugs. He squared his shoulders and pushed against the door.
The door didn’t just push open so he looked at the mechanism stuck in the handle hole. He pushed on the tab and it did nothing. The locked handle was still stuck on the outside and it wouldn’t budge. It was fastened on with screws. Marinette had picked up the handle and tried to get it to connect to the piece but it wasn’t working. Damian didn’t think that would help anyway but she was clearly in distress.
“Is there a screw to use to push in the pin hole?” Damian asked.
“No. There are no screws on this side. It was connected with threads to connect to the other piece of the handle.”
“Where is the hanger? I can use the piece that holds it to apply pressure.”
Marinette handed him one of the hangers.
“I don’t think that will work. The hanger doesn’t have the piece like that. They connect directly onto the rack so the costumes are less likely to fall and be damaged, especially during shipping or when people get locked into the closet and stuck for all eternity.”
Damian started to laugh at her joke but then he realized she wasn’t actually joking. She was breathing heavily and was backed against the wall.
---
Marinette didn’t know what else to do. They had tried everything and they couldn’t get out. No one else would be there for hours. She held onto the wall and while her head was spinning. At least Damian couldn’t see her acting so foolishly. She bit her lip to control her breathing and hot tears ran down her cheeks. She could hear Damian moving but even with another beam of light shining in she still couldn’t see what he was doing. Maybe it was good that he hadn’t given up yet. It wouldn’t be great to have them both breaking down at the same time.
But Damian had not stopped at the door. He was right there in front of her. He rested a hand on her shoulder and she just knew that he could feel the wet spot where her tears had dripped down. She felt the fingers on his other hand on her cheek, gently wiping away her tears. She couldn’t hold in a sob at his tenderness. She covered her face with her hands but he didn’t let that stop him. He pulled her against his chest and wrapped his arms around her.
---
Damian was not the first person anyone would go to when they were in distress but in this case he was the only one available. He made gentle hushing noises and smoothed her hair back from her face. He breathing had calmed but she was crying into her hands. She was struggling to get some distance so he could hear what she was saying. He caught just the last bit through her muffled tears.
“I’m crying all over your shirt,” she said.
“Don’t worry about my clothes. They will be fine,” he said. “Are you okay?”
“I think I’m just not a huge fan of small spaces.”
He brushed the last of her tears from her cheeks. Her breathing was calmer now and he wasn’t sure what suddenly came over him. His hand was on her jaw and he leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. He could feel her gasp against his lips but he realized she had stayed rigid and not melted against him. She wasn't kissing him. He had kissed her while she was against a wall trapped with him in a small closet. He stumbled back from her.
---
Marinette was so distraught about being such a mess in front of him it took her a moment to process what had happened. He had just kissed her. He seemed just as shocked as her when he pulled away. She didn’t think he had planned it. She didn’t even think he could stand her. She could still feel him standing right in front of her. Not that he had many options for where to go. His hands dropped from her and they just stood there, inches apart for a moment.
He turned back to the door and tried to mess with the lock again. She could see his face in the light coming from the hole in the door. Two separate strands of light hit his face. She could see the tenseness in his cheekbone that she imagined moved down to his jaw. The other was shining directly on his lips. She touched her own remembering the feel of his on hers.
She could feel his bicep tense as she reached out and touched him. She had to force herself to breathe. He didn't pull away but he reserved any reaction waiting to see what she would do. She knelt down next to him and slid her hand up to his shoulder. If possible he tensed even more. She reached up with her other hand and tentatively touched his jaw. She could feel the bit of rugged stubble required for the scene today. It was much softer than she had imagined.
---
Damian didn't think he quite stopped the groan that came out as her fingers brushed along his jaw. He generally preferred clean shaven but as her fingers continued to move through his stubble he was gaining an appreciation for it. He moved slowly as her second hand moved up to his jaw. She seemed over the shock of being kissed against the wall while crying but he wanted to wait for her to make a move. It was torturously slow. She was being cautious too. But he felt her body shift and then her thumb brushed along his bottom lip.
Her lips met his as she leaned forward. Her hesitancy vanished when he responded. His hand moved back to her hair where it had been when he first entered the closet and covered her mouth. She pushed herself against him from her knees but he craved her closer. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her into his lap. She planned a knee on either side of his hip and wrapped her arms around his neck. He kept one arm around her waist and one threading through her hair as it cascaded out of the bun.
Damian wasn't sure how much time had passed. They had pulled away for air several times and shifted positions as well. Marinette's hair was fully down from her previous hair do and her clothing looked delightfully wrinkled when the door opened and light poured in. He watched her squint at the sudden brightness. He must look something like her. Her chest was heaving and her lips red and puffy. He was tempted to shut the door again and stay hidden with her longer.
---
Marinette was dazed when the door suddenly opened and poured light over them. Her eyes were shocked at the amount of light too quickly. She knew the person who opened the door could clearly tell what they had been doing. She looked away from the man's smirk and down at the floor. She glanced back up at Damian. His hair was sticking out in all directions and his shirt was untucked. He stood and reached to pull her to her feet. She noticed a couple buttons undone at the top of his shirt. She suddenly wondered about the buttons on her own blouse and turned away to fix them.
"Jon, it's great to see you. How did you know to look for us?"
"Your brother called and said you missed dinner and wouldn't answer your phone. I sent a video of a baby elephant being cute and you didn't react so I knew something had to be wrong," Jon said.
"We have been locked in here for hours. No phone or tools and the handle was broken."
"Sounds," Jon cleared his throat, "rough."
Marinette wasn't making eye contact. She had readjusted her clothes and pulled her hair into a low ponytail. She couldn't avoid the awkwardness anymore. She stepped into the hallway and both men looked at her. She opened her mouth but realized she had nothing to say. She turned on her heels quickly and started to rush away. Her cheeks were burning and she thought she might start crying again.
What had she been thinking? There were all sorts of rumors about what kind of man Damian might be. It was widely thought that he remained single so he could hook up with women from all over and pay them for their silence. There had been all a lot of suggestions about who he might secretly be involved with but there had never been a confirmed relationship. She just knew things at work would end up very awkward if anyone found out. Both her and Damian were professional so perhaps they could manage to hide the awkwardness until the end of the project and then never see each other again.
"Marinette?" Damian's voice was quiet and he stopped her with a hand on her arm. "Would you like to go to dinner tonight? I need to freshen up a bit but I imagine you are as hungry as I am."
He sounded so uncertain. She wondered what he was thinking. Everything felt perfect when they were alone but in the sudden light and openness they were uncertain again.
"I'd like that," she said.
They both took a few minutes making themselves presentable and gathering their things. Marinette was happy she wouldn't have to catch the late night subway. Damian introduced his friend Jon and said he would keep everything about the incident to himself. She was grateful for that and for him waiting on the introduction until she had fixed her appearance. His hand hovered at her back at they walked out. Jon excused himself and left them alone as they got in the car.
Marinette buckled her seatbelt in silence. When she looked over Damian hadn't started the car. He was watching her. When she looked at him he leaned towards her. She met his lips as they gently brushed against each hers. Her heart was suddenly pounding again.
"I was aching to do that again," he said.
He turned back and started the car to take her on their first date.

Tim saving Damians cat from getting ran over one day and now has won his trust over:
It freaks Tim out when Dami calls him by his first name. And actually thanks him for saving Alfred the cat.
Then Damian decides Tim as his favorite sibling and Dick got jealous. I mean he wants them to get along but he is SUPPOSE TO BE the favorite brother. Not Tim.
So Tim has Damians love and Ducks pettiness. Great.
Then Damian actually let’s Tim pet his Cats and walk in his room, Tim started to get nervous that Damian was plotting his murder but Bruce assured him that if Damian ever wanted him dead badly he would have been dead long ago. Then precedes to tell Tim that Damian doesn’t play with his food like that—
Thanks Bruce, thanks.
Dami and Tim even start watching movies together, and actually talk sh-t about some of the movies.
Tim actually finds Damian fun to hang out with and play with. He understands why Dick loves the kid so much. Because under all the murder and evilness he is so sweet and adorable and actually more innocent then he lets on.
He asked Tim what certain—Sexual things meant and are—-Tim started to sweat nervously until they were interrupted once more by Alfred.
Thank god for him.
Jason is scared as shit when he noticed they don’t fight much anymore. And they HANG OUT—
Jason started to plot ways to get the hell away from them, before he was a target.
Damian and Tim actually had a movie night and Damian actually fell asleep on Tim, which Tim didn’t know whether to be happy or terrified that now- he might have to start being a big brother.
Being what Dick is to Them, being mature and knowing what is best and that scares Tim more then Damian and his katana ever did.

Do you have any headcanons about the insecurities fic you wrote about? I can't help but headcanon a lot, like:
both Harley & Ivy enjoys watching reader finishing her food, they also call her their mom since reader has been making them food since their first meet (Harley loves her egg sandwich, while Ivy was the baked potatoes bread)
Alfred always bakes matcha swiss roll with red bean paste or pastries that's easy too shallow with reader (so that she could shallow without feeling like choking and needs to drink a lot of water) whenever she stops by and keeps giving him hugs which he gladly return it everytime, the Alferd&Y/N's hug, is what everyone comments it
Dicks showing pictures he took of seven years old (a journey of Y/N's growing he calls) and then reader to all his teammates and the league as soon as he learnt the engagement's finally announce 'Look at this! Can't you imagine?! She's my little sister! This is when she seven years old! It's very heartwarming right blah blah blah... " and that's how the other superheros and older Teen Titans and Barbara knows how much Dick adore his future little sister-in-law who's s cinnamon roll
Sassy and baddass way to talk for so people won't dare mess up with her confidence (Jason help her built up, after he met her and quick into adoption of her, siblings!) Not that he would ever admit, Jason will sent glares to whoever who diss Y/N's like to children picture books (for example, The Guardians of Childhood aka inspiration of Rise of the Guardians movie) come on, his little sister had great taste in books!
Tim forbid her drinking coffee when they first met and even after (since he nearly caused a seven-years-old gone missing in the manor after the reader can't fall asleep decided to have a exploration situation) but will make it for her sometimes later after she used to it, made account for art websites she wants to register that so she can admire arts but underage back when childhoods, so he used it under his own only name (defiantly annoymus, and no, it's not illegal website) and every then and how
Makeover and dress-up with Barbara, Stephanie and Cassandra after they learnt of her (which they give Damian few lessons of 'how to treat the girl you like' with Dick who's extremely enjoy it, Jason and Tim who's enjoy the show all day), in the end, all heads to movie since it's sister bond time and apparently, the ideas of XL caramel popcorns and coke are the best choice!
Bruce pat or ruffle her hair softly everytime they met, a habit since the day he had ten years ago when she's seven, a touch of 'my daughter is growing up' feel will seldom appears in his heart
Damian from straightly ingored to slowly falls in love with reader after everytime he saw her sincere smile whenever she enjoyed Alfred's food heartily (like this, but a more faintly heartwarming one haha, at the very last pic, not sure if you could see it, so here's another link you could try out☺☺ )
Innocent, 'naive girl playing tough' charm whenever she and Damian together alone (first kiss, cuddling, hair massaging, teasing, which he finds not annoying because it's how really she is, and he enjoys keep on trailing and turn on her wildness)
How reader slowly felt left out though it didn't really occur me, just the thought of Batfam night activity and how we're isolating from each other slowly and inoccasionally when growing up just made me feel that way, you know, the feelings of it's not the same like it used to anymore😞😞
And once again, thank you so much for accepting my request at the beginning, I've been having this thought in my mind but I just couldn't write it, I'm so glad you accepted it and it's totally the way I want☺☺ (And about part 2 Talia which you accepted it too, I hope my words didn't scare you out lol... I'm too exciting that day...) Hope you have a very good day ahead, author!
Tumblr really needs to let me know when I have something in my inbox, I swear.
Of course! I loved writing it, and I’m glad you enjoyed it. No, your words didn’t scare me lol, I’m just outlining part 2 and I hope you love it just as much. With that said, and you don’t mind the wait, send in your ideas! I love reading them.
Okay, onto the headcanons! I love these! I put mine under the readmore, there's a bit;
Y/N didn’t have the best home life. Like I’m not saying abusive, just her parents neglected her a little. And it didn’t help that her whole life was planned for. So when she met Harley and Ivy, they basically went, you’re mine now no take backsies. And y/n just rolls with it, because through them, she finds out what it feels to be loved by someone who cares about you. This of course, she keeps from her parents and the day she turned eighteen, she moved out and it was a lot easier to hang out with those two.
Ever since knowing Harley and Ivy, y/n’s been slowly getting out of her shell. When she starts to hang out with Jason, she becomes more confident. She has Jason wrapped around her finger without even knowing
The girls love her, everyone loves her and Damian’s just, why
She loves cooking, and she even swaps recipes with Alfred. (even from the beginning of the whole arrangement) she became fast friends with Alfred first before everyone else.
y/n has known Damian since his first day of school. But I’m not going to lie, y/n was kind of scared Damian.
She got so offended when Tim took away her coffee when she wanted to try it. And when she became a regular coffee drinker, they would talk about different coffees they had tried and compare notes.
When the arranged marriage was first brought up in conversation, there was a lot of protests. Especially from Dick and Damian, but Bruce just shrugged saying that it was a good match. And if they don’t get married in the end, than that’s fine. Everyone was very confused but stopped bringing it up
They have theories though about the whole thing, the most popular one in the manor is that Bruce is looking for the next Robin when Damian hangs up the Robin cape to be someone else
When Bruce announced that, everyone did their own research about y/n. Everyone but Damian agreed but she must be protected, though it kind of blows up when they kind of cast her aside when she started hanging out with them at the manor, (but that’s not until later)
She and Damian have lunch together everyday at school, much to Damian’s displeasure. And he’s mean to her at the beginning, ignoring her and whatnot. She doesn’t do anything cuz she hates this setup just as much
But slowly, she starts to catch feels but keeps it to herself.
As you said, Damian takes longer to fall in love with her. And its one of those moments when she looks at peace within his family and it just hits him like ‘oh. Oh no I’m in love and I can’t tell anyone this’ and he doesn’t. So up until they confess to each other, their just pinning after each other and people who aren’t family sees that their in love but no know says anything
However, they do get more cuddly when they’re alone. Like, they don’t kiss or anything. But when they have movie nights, y/n’s curled up on the end of the couch with Damian’s head on her lap. And she’s always plays with his hair, of runs her fingers through it and Damian has discovered that it feels nice and helps him to de-stress
She knows when he’s stressed about something, so her just pats her lap and he grumbles about it but is secretly happy (they have been caught on multiple occasions by his brothers and they chooses to ignore them
She’s been so use to feeling alone, that being with people who care feels foreign to her
When she starts to feel like she’s alone again, she doesn’t see it until it’s too late
It starts off slowly, the fam is to busy with missions and saving the world that they kind of forget they she doesn’t know, and when she comes over, their not there or just brushes her off when she is. And she’s tried to talk to them, cuz she’s spend years being a part of their family but then one day it stopped.
But they just brush her off and she’s reminded about her parents so she stops pushing and then altogether stops going to the manor.
No one really realizes at first, only Alfred, and when they do, y/n had already broken off the engagement.

The day he understood what Death means - Batfam x Fem!Reader
Synopsis : The youngest Wayne makes a shocking discovery...And will need his parents, siblings, and the one and only Alfred, to recover from it. /Drabble.
I don’t know. I was thinking about this. How when you’re a kid, realizing that one day you’ll die, but worst, that the people you love will die, is sort of traumatic...And wanted to write about it. So. Here we are, with little Thomas eh. I hope you will like it :) :
My masterlists blog : @ella-ravenwood-archives
__________________________________________________
If you have no idea who Thomas is, he appears in those stories (long story short he’s the youngest kiddo, biological of Batmom and Bruce) : The Great Mall adventure, Master of Diaper Shaky steps and bad teaching, Polichinelle, “Go away, you’re confusing my baby”, Wild Child 2, “We want them back”, How do you make babies ?“ and Mom got lost again”
                                                   ******
Realizing your loved ones are not immortal for the first time can be traumatic.
Especially if they’re amazing, if they’re your heroes, if you admire them beyond all measure, if they love you unconditionally just like you love them so damn much, and if you can’t even imagine your life without seeing them every day.
If you can’t even fathom the fact that maybe, one day, they won’t be there when you wake up and go look for them. And that they will never be there again.
And so it was particularly quite the shocking discovery for little Thomas Clark Wayne, 5 and a half years old, to find out about that certain thing called...”Death”.
It happened on a moody, rainy Summer day. The weather outside was awful, even for Gotham City. And it meant that Thomas was calmly playing inside, rather than getting up to some shenanigans in the garden.
His parents were home, it was one of those rare day they both had off.
Which always filled little Tommy with joy. It wasn’t often he could get them both with him !! In the end, the fact it was rainy outside was good. It meant they’d probably all snuggle up later in the day, and watch a film, a mug of hot cocoa in their hands.
You would probably throw a blanket over him, and keep him close, sandwiched between you and his dad. His father would fall asleep half-way through the film, which would annoy you and Damian.
Damian would join for sure. Sitting next to you. Yes. He would. Maybe Tim too, if he wasn’t too busy with college ? Oh he would surely make the time to come. And Cass ? Yes. Yes Cass would be there, sitting in her usual spot, on the floor right in front of you (or maybe Tommy). Because she knew you’d gently run your hand through her hair, and your youngest son slowly took the habit to do the same. Which was so soothing to Cass...Duke would certainly be there, he never said no to a good movie.
Maybe, because it was a rainy day, Dick and Jason would come too ? Unlikely, but Thomas could hope. He loved having his entire family in one spot.
They’d ask him to do his “puppy eyes” and convince Alfred to join them too, and not work.
Alfred had an armchair reserved just for him. Right next to the couch where Bruce would sit, leaving enough space for Ace to lay down (Damian’s dog, Titus, always preferred to be near his master, who would more often than not be sitting next to you, laying his head on your shoulder, even as he was not a child anymore...Yes, Titus sat next to Cass, at Damian’s feet, letting his head fall down in Cass’ laps).
Ace...Ace didn’t feel well yesterday, and this morning, the “dog doctor” came.
Thomas heard him say they needed to give him a...an “indection” or something ? (An injection, really) So he’d probably get better. Shots were supposed to get you better or to avoid you getting sick, that’s what you told him.
His dad looked upset, but it didn’t alarm Thomas much. Because his dad was always upset when him or his siblings would get a shot, he hated going, so it was probably the same thing.
Come to think of it, Thomas hadn’t seen Ace since the “vekerinarianan” (or whatever it was pronounced) came earlier in the day.
He suddenly wanted some “doggle” (dog cuddles), and so he put down the toys he was playing with, and went to look for him.
Maybe, he could also round up the rest of his family so they’d start movie time earlier ?
Hyped to have some family time, as he considered his dogs family for sure, he went on the hunt to find Ace, and gather everyone else.
If only. If only he had known...
************
“Aaaace !! Aaace ? Ace boy, where are you ?”
This was odd. Usually, Ace would come running if he heard the little one’s voice. That dog loved children, and he made it his mission to protect all of them (bonus point if he had some snuggle, and a few treats, while doing it).
Bruce told him long ago to protect his kids...So Ace was always there.
Maybe he wanted to play hide and seek ? Thomas would play that game with Titus and Damian, Ace never seemed very interested, but maybe he changed his mind ?
“Ace ? Aaaacceeee ?”
The boy roamed the manor, but every room Ace would usually hang in were empty.
Finally, he decided he’d ask his parents, who would usually hang out in...oh, they weren’t in their usual spot either. In their bedroom, maybe ?
Thomas ran as fast as his little legs could carry him, sure that he would find Ace, and his parents, asleep in the master’s bedroom. When they had their day off, his mama and daddy would often take long naps together.
Thomas immediately knew something was wrong when the door to the room was wide open. Slowly, he approached the place and...surely his parents were there.
But something was off.
His dad was laying in the bed, back to the door, his head laid in your lap. One of your hand was caressing his head soothingly, while the other was drawing calming circles on his back.
Definitely something was not normal. You’d do that to your kids when they were sad, or sick...Was daddy sick ?! This gave Thomas a little fright.
You whisper something into Bruce’s ears, and he doesn’t answer, just shaking his head to say “yes”. And so you stand up, after giving him a kiss on the cheek, and...You spot your youngest son.
You smiled at him reassuringly, and go to him.
“Hey little buddy. You should give a big hug to Daddy, he’s very sad today.”
You say, walking past him and ruffling his hair.
From the direction you were taking, you were going to the kitchen, and Thomas just instantly assumed you were going to brew some tea for his dad. When Bruce was sad, you’d always brew some tea for him, from his mother’s garden (which was kept up nice and clean by you and Alfred, now).
Worried about his dad, Thomas slowly walked to him and climbed on the big bed. Bruce turned around to see what this new weight was, as he knew you had just left and...He smiled.
Of this wide pure genuine smile he gave his family only.
But there was a hint of sadness behind his eyes, and Thomas didn’t like that one bit. So the little boy crawled to his dad, and nestled next to him, wrapping his little arms around his dad’s neck and holding tightly.
Bruce engulfed his son in his own arms, holding onto the little one, burrying his face in his hair. There was always something comforting, in the smell his kiddo had. It was a mix of your smell, which was always soothing to him, but also something more...Something soft and sweet.
Just like his son.
Little Thomas was the epitome of a sweet child. It was a miracle, a man like him made a child this cute and happy. Ah, but he wasn’t raising him alone of course. There was you, and his siblings, and Alfred...
After a pause of the little boy holding his dad, he whispered slowly :
“Daddy, why are you sad Daddy ? Please don’t be sad, it makes me sad too.”
Thomas unwrapped his arms from around his dad’s neck, and squished his little hands on Bruce’s cheeks. Which made Bruce sigh fondly, chuckling a little as he said, honestly (he shouldn’t hide this sort of things) :
“Because Ace is gone.”
There’s another silence, during which Thomas tries to understand why is the fact Ace went somewhere so sad. He cannot figure it out, so he asks :
“But, he’ll come back daddy. Like always. Yes ? Ace is a good boy.”
“Was.”
Bruce is clumsy in his grief. He always been. He’s not sure how to broach the subject to his son, how to explain to him their dog was just too old and sick to make it...He doesn’t know how to explain death to him.
“Was ?”
“Ace is gone for good.”
“What do you mean Daddy ? Where did he go ? Why couldn’t we see him again ? Did he move out, like Dick ?”
Oh. Oh the sweet innocence of a child that is maybe a little too sheltered by his family (he’s the youngest, the one they’re trying to keep away from the horror they see every day as much as they can...Although he’s still trained, all of them hope he will never become a Robin, or worst, a Batman).
“Did he move out, like Dick ?”
Sweet, sweet Thomas. Not able to even fathom that Ace is never coming back...and why would he ? How could he know what his father meant ?
“No, no he didn't move out. He left us, to a place we can’t follow him to.”
Another short pause. And you could see the gears in little Thomas’ head turning. After a little bit, he asks :
“...The toilets ?”
This makes his father chuckle, even in this sad times. But he continues :
“No. Not the toilets. He...He went really far away, where we can’t ever see him again.”
This idea is so foreign to your son, that he raises himself on one of his elbow and exclaims :
“Why would he do that ? Does he not love us anymore ?”
Obviously, the thought is distressing to the little bird. So Bruce says :
“No no no, of course he still loves us...loved, us. But he had to go.”
“But why ?”
“Because he was getting very old, and sick.”
“But we don't mind daddy, right ? We don’t mind ? He doesn't have to go away for that, I don’t care if he doesn’t play like he used to, I want him to stay ! Tell him daddy, call him on the phone to tell him to come back.”
Bruce is lost. How ? How can he explains what death means ? He thought about this moment coming many times, but never told him anything as he thought that he had time to know what it meant. He had time...
How do you tell a child that one of his favorite “person” in the world is dead ?
“Unfortunately buddy, we have some sad news.”
His savior. You, as usual. With two cups of tea, and a cup of hot cocoa on a tray. As you went downstairs to get some “pick me up” for Bruce, you knew your son was gonna need it too.
“What news mama ?”
“Ace. He died today.”
You actually thought about it as you were preparing everything for them. How to talk about this ? You decided to go with “honesty”. Not brutal honesty though. You weren’t about to traumatize your son.
But you thought it was important he knew what happened to Ace. As a child, you hated how your brothers tried to make you think your ferret ran away to Las Vegas or something of the like.
You understood this sentiment, of course. But you also remembered how betrayed you felt when you finally understood “death” and realized your beloved Mister Will Ferret was NOT in Sin City having fun, but just died...
The truth was important.
Especially about such subjects.
Children weren’t dumb. And they had every right to know certain truth.
Did you wish your son could stay innocent for longer ? Of course. But he still had a right to know what happened to his dog. To be treated like a person and be explained things.
People, too often, treats children as some kind of idiots who wouldn’t comprehend complex things anyway, and who have to be protected at all cost from anything...
Kids were clever. You had a bunch of them to prove it so. But above that, although you agreed kids had to be protected...You weren't one of those person who thought you should lie to your children in order to do so.
Because one day, he’ll know what death is. He’ll know what happened to Ace. And what if the fact you lied that day, settles a slight distrust in him towards anything you’ll ever tell him ? Just like it did with you and your brothers ?
No. You thought at first it was a good idea to delay such a conversation. But why ? Because it would make you more comfortable ? That didn’t sound very fair in regard of your boy.
Everyone always talked about “the birds and the bees” talk, but never about something that was even more inescapable than that...
Death.
You give him a few seconds to take in your words. “Ace died today.” You wait for his reaction. He seems to think about it, having vaguely heard of “death” before...finally he asks :
“What does it mean ?”
He’s sitting up in the bed now. Bruce did the same, encircling his arms around his boy protectively (old habits die hard). But he’s determined to explain things to him too. You and Bruce were always rather in sync, about how you should raise your children.
“It means he will no longer be with us. He passed away to something else.”
“To what ?”
“No one really knows.”
“Will we see him again ?”
“No.”
“Why ?”
“Because he’s dead.”
“And being dead means you can’t see anyone anymore ?”
“Being dead means you are not living on this Earth anymore, so yes, you cannot see them anymore.”
“It means we can’t see him ? And what do you mean not on Earth ? Is he in Space ? Can we see him if we go to the watchtower ?”
“I mean in our life, we will not see Ace again. He won’t be with us ever again. He’s not in space, he’s just gone.”
“Because he’s dead ?”
“Because he’s dead.”
“So, being dead means we don’t get to see someone ever again ?”
“Yes.”
“Ever ever ?”
You decide to leave any conversations about a possible after-life aside, as it’s clear this, he’s not quite old enough to comprehend. So you keep on talking about the truth, with the support of Bruce.
“Yes. Ever ever.”
It takes Thomas a few minutes to take in all those new informations. Bruce is sitting on the bed, legs crossed, behind the boy. And your son is clearly lost in deep thoughts...Up until finally, finally tears are starting to well up in his eyes.
“But I didn’t even say goodbye !”
“Unfortunately, we don’t always get to say goodbye...”
“But mama, how will he know I loved him so much if I didn’t even say goodbye before he left ? How could you let him go before I did ?”
“I’m sorry, if I could chose I would’ve-...He knew you loved him and-”
“Are you going to die too ?!”
The dreaded question. Dreadest of them all, really. But you can’t lie to him. Not now that you started to explain things.
“Yes. Everyone dies one day.”
“But but but...but I don’t want you to die ! And Daddy ?”
Bruce nods, and...and that’s when it finally happens.
The awful moments your sweet innocent boy realizes what death sort-of means. That one day, none of his parents will be in his life anymore. Than one day, he’ll lose his siblings, and Alfred.
Just like he lost Ace. Because he was “old and sick”. But...Thomas knew a lot of sick people ! And a lot of old people ! Were they going to die too, without him being able to say goodbye ?!
And so the tears started to fall. And oh, oh did they fall.
Bruce held his son against his heart, drawing soothing circles on his back, just like you usually do. And you came to sit next to them, encircling them in your arms as well.
Thomas was trying to talk, but nothing came out very clearly as he cried, cried, cried and cried some more.
When he finally calmed down, he was slowly falling asleep, crying drained him of all his energy. That night, there was no “movie time”, but comforting snuggles with his parents...
Thomas had finally discover what “Death” meant.
************
“Oh my God Thomas !”
Bruce’s heart drops.
The entire scene goes in slow motion, and the fearless Batman can see his entire life flash in front of his eyes, as his tiny son is running towards him, while a few thugs were about to shoot automatic weapons at him...
“There’s a kid ! There’s a kid !”
“Who cares, we have the bat right at our mercy, just shoot !”
“I can’t shoot a kid...”
“Should we shoot ?”
The few seconds of surprise after Thomas bursted in allow Damian to swoop down, and to get rid of everyone. Slowly, a serious face on, your son walks to his dad and, solemnly, he says :
“This was too close, father. And...Thomas...”
“I know Damian, I know.”
Your little boy was inconsolable, clinging to his dad.
They didn’t even have to ask him how he got there. It was obvious he somehow snuck into the Batmobile (which wasn’t that much of a surprise, although it was already quite a feat...Thomas was small, but also very stealthy, as he was taught to be).
He was only five, and it wasn’t really clear to him yet his dad was that “Batman” everyone talked about, that his siblings were also vigilantes...But he knew that when they went out at night, they were often in danger.
And that night. That night right after the one Thomas learned what Death was...He snuck in the car, so he would make sure “she” would not take her dad away ! Or her brothers and sister !
Only Damian and Bruce were in the car, on patrol together. The rest of the kids were scattered across the city, and you were taking care of the bat computer (nowadays you were the one doing so to give some relief to Alfred).
Thomas took the habit to fall asleep in the cave, in a bed there just for him...and he must’ve snuck into the car.
It was nobody’s fault. It was very unlike the boy, to do such a thing.
He got into the car. When Damian and his father got out of it to apprehend a few of Two-Face’s thug, he stayed behind, looking at what they did...but when he saw those men about to shoot his dad (a proper ambush), he jumped out, punching every buttons (which was quite dangerous itself) to find which one opened the door, and then he ran to his dad...
The surprised probably saved Bruce. But it also almost killed him with a heart attack.
What if those men didn’t hesitate long enough for Damian to take care of them ? What if they shot anyway, ignoring the surprising appearance of a small child ? What if they had recognize who that kid was, too ? (Unlikely, this was a time where Thomas was still quite sheltered from media, as you tried to give him a childhood as normal as you all possibly could).
What if they shot anyway...
Bruce doesn’t think he would’ve survived the death of his youngest son. He was sure, actually, that he would’ve killed those men.
That is, if Damian didn’t do it first.
But it didn’t happen. It didn’t happen, but it was so close. So close.
Later, when everything calmed down, Thomas would explain he jumped in the car to “keep death away”, to protect his daddy and brother. To make sure Death wouldn’t take them.
And that's when you all understood Ace’s death, and the discovery that everyone dies one day, one way or another, truly was “traumatic” for your baby.
From that point on, you made sure that Thomas would be in the cave...but this event. This event really unfolded a problem you knew you’d have to tackle truly one day.
You just had no idea yet how to help your son.
************
Damian had told Jason the debacle that was yesterday. About his parents explaining to their little brother what it meant to be dead. And about how it lead to Thomas sneaking into the Batmobile and running in front of danger to “protect” his dad.
Because of where he grew up, Damian always knew what death meant. And he never cared much (or convinced himself he never cared much). He understood from a very young age what all this shenanigans was...
Jason did too. He found his mother, dead, when he was three years old. He grew up surrounded by death, in the gutter of Gotham. He knew. He did.
But Thomas.
Thomas was a “normal” 5 years old boy, as normal you can be in such a family. He trained a little, and sort of knew about his dad being “Batman” (but it seemed he didn’t understand he was ACTUALLY the Batman people talked about in the city).
He spend most of his nights in a little area made just for him, with a bed and such, in the batcave (he hated sleeping upstairs alone, so he would sleep in the batcave and you’d pick him up to bring him in  his bed once you’d go to bed, and/or once the rest of your family would get home).
So for a little one like Thomas, who was pure and sweet and nice...It was a shock, to know one day he’d lose the people he loved.
He was inconsolable, at Ace’s funerals (thrown at the back of the Manor).
He couldn’t get over the fact he didn’t get to say goodbye, and that he would never play with his dog anymore.
It made it worst, that Ace’s death made everyone else sad. That dog truly was a member of the family...
“I know you're feeling very sad. I'm sad, too. We all loved Ace so much, and he oved us, too.”
You told him a few times, tryin to put words on his emotions and helping him understand...God, to Damian, you truly were the most amazing mother. Always knew what to say, how to say it, when to say it.
But Thomas was still blue, and it was so unlike his usual bubbly personality.
And so, both Damian and Jason made it their mission to distract their little brother, and...it worked. For the most part. It really worked.
Amongst all his siblings, Damian and Jason were the ones that loved having a little brother the most. Not that the others didn’t, of course ! They just were a little less willing to play for hours on end with a little kid.
They were rather busy. Jason and Damian always found ways...They were an unlikely pairs at first glance. Most people would think Damian was the closest to Dick, and Jason too. But no. They were equally as close to all their siblings, in different ways.
But Damian and Jason, they had an extra connection. Jason was there, when Damian was a baby. He didn’t remember his own name, and was used by the Al’Ghuls after they resurrected him...But he was still one of the only person in Damian’s life that truly valued him.
Fate, right ? A funny thing. After all, how small did the world have to be for two of Bruce’s sons to meet in such a way ? A hidden son, and one he thought dead, at that ?!
In any case. They were closer than most would think. And they also were linked not only by the Al’Ghuls, but by how they were both ripped off of an actual childhood, and therefor wanted to make sure their little brother had one too (Cass was the same, but more subtle, and discreet).
And so...
They played, made art pieces, jigsaw puzzles, watched his favorite movies, cooked...Anything to take his mind off of “Death”.
That little boy would overthink too much, for such a young age.
But overall, Damian and Jason did a good job distracting him from the pain.
They did an amazing job.
You were so proud of how they took care of their baby brother (and it would give yourself more time to go cheer up the “Oldest Wayne”, your dear husband, who definitely had a hard time getting over his dog’s death...).
Only, there was one problem...And that problem was that neither Damian nor Jason, just like everyone else, were immortal.
And this, this, Thomas would realize very soon.
************
“More compresses, Master Tim !”
“On it Al !”
The loud noises woke Thomas up. You knew. You knew you should’ve gone up to bed earlier. Tuck him in, and wait for your family to come back.
Ah. But when they all arrived in the cave, ALL of them, including Dick who did not live at the manor anymore...You knew there was a problem.
And indeed. Jason had been badly hurt. Not something that couldn’t be fixed, but ah, once again, too damn close.
Everyone was on the tail of a high profile serial killer, the newcomer called “Dr Pyg”, and...Collateral damage. It happened, in this line of work.
It wasn’t easy. Especially when it was one of your baby. But you had to keep a leveled head, as you helped Alfred fix your boy.
You had taken medical trainings early in in your relationship with Bruce. For obvious reasons. And there was rarely a day it didn’t come in handy.
In any case, all the noises around woke Thomas up.
Before. Before he knew what death truly meant, he would’ve been worried. He would've cried. He would’ve been distressed. Of course.
And one of his siblings would’ve taken care of him, reassure him, soothe and console him, and little Thomas would be ok again.
Before he knew what death truly meant.
He was so small anyway, most of the time he’d forget things, or just not understand them...but he was five now. Close to the age of reason. And definitely aware of his surroundings enough now to pay attention, and remember things.
And he knew what death truly meant.
He clung to Jason for dear life, even as everyone reassured him he was actually ok. Jason himself was conscious, he had been badly hurt but nothing he hadn’t seen before.
He needed some rest for sure, but it was fine, really.
It wasn’t fine for Thomas. He yelled, threw the biggest tantrum he ever threw, yelled some more that they should stop. That he didn’t want them to die. That whatever they were doing...He begged them to stop.
Never before in your life, had any of you witness Thomas being in such a state. He was inconsolable. You couldn’t calm him down, no matter what...
And once more, it’s only because of exhaustion that he finally relaxed. But yet, still in his sleep, he clung to Jason’s sleeve, as if afraid his brother would be gone when he’d wake up.
It tore yours and Bruce’s heart apart, to see your baby like this. But to be honest...neither of you knew what to do...
************
“Where’s Damian mama ? Where is he ?”
Thomas was truly panicked.
The first day, he thought maybe his brother was busy with school and such. The second day, he started to worry. But now ? Three days in a row with Damian not at the dinner table ? Or in his room ? Or in the batcave ?!
It made Thomas anxious. What happened to his brother ? Was he...was he...DID DEATH TAKE HIM AWAY ?
“Where’s Dami mama ? Where is he ?!”  Thomas kept asking, crying. And it took you moment to finally realize what your son must’ve thought. When you did, you picked him up and calmed him down, explaining Damian was simply over at Jon’s for a few days...
And from that day on, you’d make sure to tell him why anyone would be gone for any amount of time.
That night, Bruce and you talked about what you could do to help Thomas get over his consuming fear of losing one of you.
But nothing really came to your minds.
And it was awful, to feel like a failure like that.
Later on, your Damian would tell you you were NOT failing at parents because you were a little lost about this. After all, none of your other kids got into quite a crisis like this one. He said maybe considering a therapist could do ? But oh, oh Thomas was so little.
And if words were out that Thomas Wayne, barely five years old, was seeing a therapist ? The scandals would be unending, and would it really help your son ?
Damian joined in in the search for a way to soothe his baby brother. He never said “no” to cuddles from him, but lately...Lately, Thomas almost became overbearing, as he made sure he’d always sort of have his eyes on everyone.
And it wasn’t healthy, for such a little boy to worry so much.
Damian missed his carefree baby brother. He knew he had to eventually grow up, of course, and that he’d have some hardships but...he was just five and a half ! He wasn’t suppose to be so scared of death !
And so he thought, nights and days, of a way to soothe him. But just like you and Bruce, this matter was quite delicate...
************
It seemed like Cass was the only one able to truly console him, and make him relax. She would sing him songs, just like you did to her when she felt sad.
She would tell him tales of Death as a good thing, inspiring herself from many legends from around the world.
She would try to put perspective on everything, in a way you truly admired.
She never spoke too much, your Cass...But when she did, every words were carefully chosen and crafted into truly beautiful things.
And it would soothe your boy.
But only as long as he was with Cass. And he couldn’t always be with her.
You didn’t have her talent to tell those tales, and your singing was working only for a few moments to put him to sleep but...you couldn’t always have him sleep. You had to think of more viable options.
Nonetheless, when Thomas was really too anxious, Cass would be there.
Relieving everyone of their worry, as she could calm her baby brother in matter of seconds. In those  moments, you wished time could stop. You truly did...
************
Thomas would cling to you and his dad the most. His siblings were often out and about, but you two ? Well you took some time off to be with your youngest son, to be there for him in this odd times...
And you weren’t sure it was such a good idea, in the end.
He would often just snuggle up to you or Bruce, listening to your heartbeats, which would calm him...You’d normally never say no to hugs from your children. But this was all starting to become so unhealthy for the little one.
What could you do ? What could you do ?!
************
Duke was panicking.
Thomas was doing fine today, and Duke felt like he royally fucked up.
Thomas was worried about Duke, telling him to be careful and that his heart would break if Duke ever died...Which melted Duke’s heart.
It made him feel so loved and accepted. And he wanted to help little Thomas so much...
That’s when he made a rookie mistake.
After all, he was still quite new at this “big brother” thing.
“There are things worst than death.”
Is what he told him. What was he thinking ? Reflecting on things, Duke realized he didn't think it through. To him, it was a soothing way to say death wasn’t that bad. But...Ah, ah it made Thomas cry.
“What ? What is worst than not seeing you guys ever again ?!”
At that moment, Duke hadn’t realized quite yet how much he fucked up. So he said : “Well, my parents can't remember me, can’t remember who they are...They’re not dead, but they’re not here anymore. They’re physically here, but they don’t know me, they don’t know how to hug me, they can’t be my parents anymore...Yet they’re still alive.”
The horrified look on Thomas’ face is what gave him a hint that this really wasn’t a good thing to say...
“No no no wait Thomas, don’t cry please, I was trying to tell you...Wait Thomas, please, no. Oooh buddy, buddy I’m so sorry.”
It almost made Duke cry too, to witness the one he considered his little brother in such distress. He wasn’t trained for this ! He wasn’t trained for this !!!
This was the first time Duke truly felt like an older brother, truly felt like he understood this important role. He had to think before saying something. He had to protect his baby brother. He had to find ways to soothe him...
“Ok here we are, here we are everything is a-okay, you’re ok, things will be ok...”
Duke picked Thomas up, and started to rock him back and forth slowly, just like his own mom did to him...He mixed the way his mom used to put him to sleep, with your soothing singing. With words he borrowed from you.
“I’m here, I’m here. Don’t worry I’m here, I won’t go anywhere. Things will be ok baby boy, things will be ok. You’re gonna be ok. I’m not going anywhere. I didn’t mean any of it...”
Duke had been living with you for a while now. He came to see all of you as his second family, even as his parents were still alive, and a constant chain holding him back at times...a chain that broke right at this moment.
Thomas was his little brother. He truly was.
And Duke was determined to be there for him. Especially after he made him cry.
“It’s ok Tommy, cry all you want. It’s ok to cry. It’s ok to cry.”
You always told him that. It was ok to cry. To be angry. To want to break everything. To want his mom...
But you were his mom too now. You were. And you had such a way with words. Such a soothing touch. Even as he was grown up now, you always knew what to say. You always did.
“You’re ok, right ? Yeaaaah you’re ok. See, things are fine, we chill, we chill.”
Duke was slowly swaying from left to right, Thomas in his arm, slowly lulling him to sleep, calming him down. His voice seemed to have the same effect than yours...Because he was calm. And because he meant it.
The love.
The love he had for this little boy.
It poured out of him, easily, naturally.
He loved that kid so much. And he wanted him to be ok. And it seemed like Thomas ? Thomas felt it. He felt the love. Just like Duke felt the love of all of you...
That little bean put himself in such a state at the mere thought of Duke dying, of one of his brother leaving...And Duke. Duke realized he felt the same.
Couldn’t imagine any of them dying.
And so he poured love in his every word, and swayed from side to side, calming Thomas, and making sure he knew...He knew that, he was right there.
Right there.
************
“You’re getting old, Alfred.”
You said jokingly, as you beat him at chess. And oh. Oh what a mistake you just did.
“Old ? I don’t want you to die Alfred, I don’t !”
Thomas was playing next to you. You hadn’t thought about his “trauma” for a little while as he seemed to feel a little better lately...But oh, he plunged right back into it there.
Because of you. You felt absolutely awful...
“I’ll fight Death for you Alfred ! I will ! I won’t let her take you !!”
It took a while, as it became usual now, to calm him down. He was ready to throw hands with Death. Fierce that no one would take his “grandpa”. But he was still very scared and sad...
“I’m a terrible mother...”
You told Bruce that night. And he held you against him, consoling you, saying it wasn’t your fault and that it was just friendly banter with Alfred as usual...
“You are the literal opposite of a terrible mother, my love.”
“But Broosh, I made him- I-”
You sniff, unable to control your sobs as you remember your poor little boy holding Alfred and yelling at Death she can’t take him. The poor butler himself didn’t even know how he could do anything to calm him down...
“We’ll find a solution my love, we’ll find a solution...”
This entire night, Bruce stayed up although he was exhausted, so he could soothe you and take care of you. Skipping patrol (knowing though the city was safe with his children out).
At some point during the night, Thomas came to your room.
It was often, lately, that after a nightmare he’d come running to you. His nightmares would often be about losing you...
You had finally fallen asleep, in your husband’s arms, and Bruce gestured to your boy to not make too much noice.
Sweet little Thomas acquiesced, and slowly came to the bed, taking the hand his father gave him.
Bruce was about to fall asleep too, knowing you had finally found sleep...But now, he wasn’t going to. Not until he made sure his son was asleep as well.
All he could do for now, was being there for you two. Try to soothe you as best her could. As best he could...
Sleep was restless and full of nightmares.
************
Dick would try to often visit his parents and siblings. As much as he could, which wasn’t always easy, with his work in Bludhäven. But nothing is more sacred than family...He realized that over the years.
During those moments, it would be rather normal for Thomas to go settle in his oldest brother’s laps. He would make the most of seeing him.
So today, as Dick was in the kitchen trying to make himself a cup of coffee, it was no surprise when little Tommy came to see him.
You had bought a new espresso machine, and Dick had no idea how it worked...Slowly, his littlest brother came in, dragged a chair next to him, and used it to climb on the counter.
He then started to make Dick’s cup of coffee, without much of a word being exchanged. Dick smiled widely, his little bro was so cute and clever. In no time, he had make a great cup of coffee for him.
But...Something seemed to bother him. Tommy was an exuberant child when around his family, but he had been quiet right there. He didn’t jump in his brother’s arms like he usually does, and he wasn’t telling him all about what he missed since last time he came in !
Was it still this all thing about being worried about death ?
“Are you ok little wing ?”
Ever since Jason, “Little Wing” or “Bird” became the common denomination for his younger siblings. A term of endearment that they all (secretly or not) loved.
Tommy seemed to think a little, while raising his arms, signifying he wanted Dick to pick him up.
Dick did, of course, and they went to sit at the kitchen counter, and as usual, Tommy settled down on Dick’s laps. He turned around and, after another short pause (Dick always knew when to stay silent, and wait for the other person to speak first) said :
“Dickie, are mom and dad not your mom and dad ?”
“Mm ?”
“Your real mom and dad, they died ? You can’t see them no more now ?”
There was a lump in Dick’s throat. Not because he thought about his parents no. He actually came to peace with their death long ago now. And though he missed them every day, it didn’t hurt as much as it used to.
He was lucky to find another loving family...From which that little worried kiddo in front of him was an important part of.
“Yes, I can’t see them anymore.”
“It hurts ?”
“It used to. Now less. I miss them, but I wasn’t alone.”
“Because you have our mom and dad ?”
“Yes.”
Dick ruffles his hair fondly.
“Do you wish you’d still have your real mom and dad ?”
“Mom and dad ARE my real parents too. I was lucky enough to find new ones. Not everyone is as lucky, like dad. He was alone for a long time”
“What about Alfred ?”
“It took dad a while to realize that Alfred was a second father to him”
“So...Will you be my second dad if dad goes ?”
Dick feels another lump in his throat. Bigger this time.
He couldn’t even imagine the day he’ll lose this “second dad”, this one he had now called “dad” for longer even than his own biological father...Dick was 8, when he came into yours and Bruce’s life.
He spend more  years with you two than with his “real” parents. You never replaced them, no. You just..became his parents too.
He would never forget his biological parents. But he would never diminish the impact his adoptive one had. The love you and Bruce gave him.
Would he be good enough to be Thomas “second dad” ? After all, he currently had about the age Bruce had when he adopted him...
But Dick couldn’t imagine losing Bruce too. Losing another father. No. He couldn’t. He couldn’t.
Thomas was already moving on, asking more questions :
“Will I find another mom and dad too if mom and dad die ? Or will I be alone like dad ? Will I have Alfred forever ?”
“I-I don’t know buddy.”
“What if I lose all of you at the same time ? I will be all alone then.”
“You won’t.”
“But what if I do ?”
“I’ll always be there.”
“You can’t know that, can you ?”
“Maybe, but this will never happen. You will never be alone.”
“You really think so ?”
“I Do. And I promise little wing, I promise...You won’t lose all of us. You won’t.”
Dick held his brother even tighter against him, and missed the unconvinced expression on Thomas’ face.
************
Your youngest son was still utterly terrified of losing any of you. But his terrible fit would pass now, he would calm down more easily, and wouldn’t cry until exhaustion...But it didn’t mean he wasn't afraid anymore.
Unfortunately.
“Death” was still a constant on his mind. One of the biggest question. Without much answers.
His mother and father said no one knew what happened after “death”, but Thomas wasn’t convinced. So he went to the only one he knew would tell him the truth, and was most likely to know...Tim.
His older brother was currently in the garden, studying for his finals. But oh he’d take a break for his little brother, of course.
Especially lately, as said little brother was overly worried and needed constant reassurance.
“Hi Timmy.”
“Hey little one.”
“Bothering you ?”
“You are not bothering me, never.”
“Can I ask you a question then ?”
“Of course.”
“What happens when we die ?”
Oof.
OOOOF.
Not something Tim could say he expected to be asked. Even as he knew Thomas was sort of obsessed with this lately. And ah...Ah he started to get lost into physiological effects of death, into science, into things Thomas could definitely not understand...
And into things he didn’t care about.
Thomas had no interest in knowing what happens to the corporeal side of things. To our bodies. He wanted to know where “we” went. Where the being went. The conscience.
Of course he wouldn’t word it that way, but it was easy to understand that it was what he meant when he said : “where do we go when we die ?”.
After a long time of Tim getting lost in many complex explanations about decomposition (what the Hell Tim ?), he finally stopped as he saw that Thomas was most definitely lost.
“Where do we go after we die ?”
“Yes. What happens ? You must know, you know everything !”
The faith his littlest brother put in him made him feel warm inside but...unfortunately on this subject he had to disappoint him.
“I..I don’t know about this, actually.”
Thomas looked crestfallen. Was nothing sacred anymore ?? Death existed, and the one he thought would always have a solution to everything didn’t know something that important !!
“There’s many theories.”
“What’s a theories ?”
“One theory, multiple theories. A theory is...an idea of how things might work.”
“What are the theory ?”
“Theories, plural.”
“What are the theories ?”
“Well. Some people think that you go into some kind of afterlife. It depends the culture, and the religion, and...many other factors. But there’s usually a few places we can end up.”
“And we’ll see the people who died there ? We’ll see them again ?”
“Supposedly so.”
“Is it sure ?”
“No, it’s just a theory.”
“You said a theory is an idea of how things might work.”
“An idea that might not be proven.”
“What’s the point then ?”
“Theorizing.”
“I don’t understand...”
Of course he didn’t, he was a smart little boy...But still just five. Tim sat down to his level, and looked at him in the eyes :
“Well. You have to understand that um...No one knows what happens after death. So we have to make theories, things that might or might not be. You understand ?”
“No.”
“Well, since we don’t know, we make things up. But maybe those things are right. Maybe they aren’t.”
“So the answer is we don't know ?”
“Yes. But there are theories ?”
“Ok. So aside from the place we see others again, what are the theories ?”
“Well (...)”
Tim was a patient boy. For hours and hours, he tried to explain every single “theory” people might’ve had about what happens after Death. And Thomas listened carefully.
Finally, Tim was done, and his brother said :
“So...No one really knows, and there’s a lot of theory...ies. Theories.”
“Basically.”
Thomas looked so discouraged. Tim was very well aware that none of what he told him really helped his brother, or reassured him...But ah. Tim was known to not lie. Which was a good thing. And he couldn’t possibly have a free conscience if he had told his brother just one theory of the after life, the nicest one, just to reassure him.
Of course, he wanted to reassure him. To distract him. But he would do so another way. Lying to him was not it.
Still, it was so disheartening to see this sweet little boy so crestfallen.
“Um, Well...I guess some people know.”
Thomas looked up at his brother, hopeful, waiting for him to continue.
“Like Constantine. But um, he’s sort of crazy. And dad doesn't want him around the house for...reasons you’ll understand when you’ll grow up. And-”
Ah but Thomas wasn’t listening to Tim anymore, and his monologue as to why maybe John Constantine wasn’t such a reliable source.
“Constantine” huh ? Interesting. Ah. Sometimes, Tim forgot how smart his little brother truly was...for a five years old. And how he took after his father, when it came to memory and attention to details.
************
This constant worry went on for quite just a few days. A few very eventful days, that were so...exhausting. Thomas was constantly scared for your lives, and would cry if anyone got hurt too much.
He would follow you around, and be way too stressed for such a little bean.
Everyone came to hide their injuries from him, tried to distract him from what they were doing when out as the Bats...But it was becoming a real problem.
How ? How could they make a little five years old understand that he couldn’t forever be afraid of death ? It was impossible. None of you, not even you, had the right words. There were no right words anyway.
You could tell him whatever you wanted, it’d never make him stop thinking about Death taking one of you with her, taking one of you far away from him.
“A place he cannot follow you to.”
How ? How could you help ?!
But the change had to come from within him, you would soon realize.
About a week after Ace’s death, and a truly painful few days of everyone being lost and unable to help the baby of the family... he suddenly spoke up, at dinner time :
“Mama, mama, if one day you die, I will bring you back. I promise. Same for daddy, and Dick, and Jason, and Cass, and Tim, and Duke, and Damian, and Alfred. I don’t know if we can bring dogs back, but humans yes ? And worst case scenario, I’ll conjure your spirit so I can say goodbye, and then I’ll know we’ll see each others again !”
“Wh-What ?”
“Stunned” doesn’t quite cover how you felt at your son’s sudden tirade, at dinner that night. Everyone was here, a rare occasion. Your one dinner a months that was mandatory for all your kids ! To make sure you’d all have moments together.
And boom. Came this monologue out of nowhere, from your small little five and a half years old son.
Stunned. Not a strong word enough to describe you, or your other children.
But Bruce. Oh Bruce. Bruce was frowning. Narrowing his eyes in a way you knew perfectly well...It meant he was angry at someone.
“Who told you all this, son ?”
“Mister Constantine.”
A growl. A scary growl. From deep within your husband’s throat. You would NOT want to be John next time he’d see
“How did you talk to him ?”
“I used your phone.”
“I don’t have his number on my...Wait, the bat phone ?!”
“Yes. The one you call uncle Clark on !”
“What the-...how did you-ugh ?!”
There were so many questions. So many.
“I copied what you do, on the phone. And I asked it if it could call the Constantine.”
“The Constantine”, this better not be a stupid way he called himself in front of his son, Bruce thought. Ah, and curse the fact he kept having kids that were too damn smart for their own good !
Kids this days. Growing up with technology. Able to work a batphobe at age 5 and a half !!
“Hope I helped little man - John Constantine”, said the note that came to the manor a few days later. Which made Bruce fume with rage, but Thomas beam happily.
Bruce was already planning to go after John, and force him to say what he told his son. But...But...
To be honest. Whatever he said. You didn’t care. You knew, more than anyone else, that “Death” wasn’t as definitive as it sounded at times. And you knew for certain there was something after you died. What ? You couldn’t be sure. But something. Another place. Or maybe reincarnation ? Who knew.
Deep in your heart though, you knew that no matter what, if you ever were to die...You’d see your family again. You weren’t sure how or where. It was just a certainty in your heart. A gut feeling.
Yes. You didn’t care what John told your son. If it could help him accept that everyone will die one day. Didn’t mean he wasn’t afraid of losing you anymore. Oh no. But at least...At least he knew worrying about it lead nowhere. And to truly enjoy the moments of the present.
Whatever John said, it helped your son. That’s all that mattered. And as Thomas would grow up, you knew he’d understand things more and more.
He already knew he was luckier than many people. He had a loving family. They were all there with him for now (minus Ace, whom he missed every day). A lot of people couldn’t say the same thing.
Death was an odd thing. Especially in the World you lived in.
It wasn’t as definitive as some would say.
Your family knew that more than anyone else.
Death was an odd thing, that wasn’t always the ultimate end...
This, one day, Thomas would truly understand.
The end

And here we are :). Just a quick thing again, my bigger story (fake boyfriend trope with Bruce hehe) is coming soon. But in the mean time, felt compelled to write about this. I hope you enjoyed reading it, and liked it ? Not my best work :/, another quick drabble written very late at night eh. But nonetheless, fun to write ? Hope it’s not a disappointment, it’s just a thing to make ya wait for a more elaborate thing that I took a lot of care writing. Anyway it’s 4 am, time for bed :).
If you did, don’t hesitate to leave a little feedback or/and to reblog :). If you didn’t as well really, it’s always good to know what’s not good so I can improve (just stay civil please).
PS : Bonus point if you get where I’m trying to arrive at with those last few words about how definitive death is :p.

REPLACED part two
Summary: Part 2 to replaced. It was Damian’s time to train you, this time you were ready
Warning: mentions of blood, canon violence, Bruce being an ass
A/N: Had this requested a few times lol. Here it is! Also I’m rewatching The Witcher and 🥵🥵
Part one
Word Count: 2.3k
Tumblr media
"Again."
Sweat dripped down your body and you were heaving for breath. The cold training room now emanated with heat just from your movements. It had to have been hours that you were down there, working until you had perfected your motions. Hours of blood, sweat, and tears, but that wasn't going to make you stop.
You rested on your hands and knees, trying to catch your breath. Today had been harder than the rest, you had been pushed far past your limits. Frustrated tears gathered in your eyes from not being able to get this down packed. Again and again you failed miserably - just like you had for years before.
"Again!" Damian repeated louder. He stood over you with his arms crossed and a nonchalant stance. Sparring with him was terrible. You never won and he never held back. You would leave the training room with bruises and cuts every time. He was ruthless, just as he was trained to be when he was a child.
Damian had taken you up on your offer to train you. Unfortunately, he only knew one way to do it. Damian wasn't patient like Dick, he was frustrated the second that you fell to the mat. He didn't worry about you or your feelings like Tim did. The only thing that he did do, was teach your more than Bruce ever had.
Your hands clenched into fists at his anger towards you. You swore that the only reason that Damian kept this up was because he liked to win so often. In your months of working together, he never seemed to gain any more like towards you. Not that you were surprised about it, his heart was cold.
Every muscle in your body screamed at you not to get back up and fight. You needed rest from this. It drained you more and more every day but if that meant that you would get to go out on patrol, to prove everyone wrong, it was worth it. You had improved so much with Damian's help.
"Get. Up!" Damian yelled.
"I can't," you finally whispered. Your voice was broken. Damian had barely heard what you had said. He dropped his sword onto the mat beside. Instead of walking off like you had expected him to, Damian grabbed the collar of your shirt and heaved you up to his eye level. You were startled by the movement.
"You get up or you get out," Damian threatened. His eyes were narrowed as he waited for your response. He wasn't going to waste anymore time if you weren't willing to put in the effort needed. He had spent years being pushed by his grandfather, his skills didn't just come naturally.
Damian was letting you off easy with his version of training. Had it been his mother instead? You would never have made it past the first day. He was stern, but he would never treat you as he was treated. No one deserved that.
You had no response. Getting back up seemed impossible to you. Defeating him seemed impossible. Damian scoffed at you lack of motivation. He dropped the collar of your shirt, letting you fall back to the ground. The echo of his footsteps walking away rang through your ears.
Just another person giving up on me.
No. No, you had come way too far for someone else to give up on you. You needed to do this, not for everyone, but for yourself. Proving that you could do this is the one thing that you always thrived for. Giving up couldn't be an option anymore. This was your time to become who you were always meant to be.
Damian paused as he heard the clank of his sword being picked up. You stood tall and proud, the heavy metal tight in your grip. Damian turned back to face you, a smirk on his lips as he saw you wipe away the blood from your busted lip. As long as you weren't going to give up on yourself, he wasn't going to give up on you.
"Again," you parroted his words. It was the first time that you held his weapon. For some reason, it felt at home in your palms. Maybe you had been taking this whole training from the wrong perspective. You were always trying to be like Bruce, and even Dick. Maybe if you were going to be trained by Damian, you needed to use the same kind of weapon as him.
Just from mimicking the moves that you had seen him do time after time, you had moved so much more effortlessly. It seemed almost natural to swing the great blade around, like you had been doing it for years.
Damian ruthlessly attacked you, giving you everything that he had left in his system. For once, you had been able to hold you ground. You felt confident in what you were doing - both on offense and defense. Damian was shocked by your sudden skill - he hadn't even considered that you wished to use a weapon like his.
Damian had jumped up to get a higher angle against you. It was as if every gear turning in your body had been perfectly in sync - you knew exactly what you needed to do. Just as Damian was mid-air, you had landed a perfect kick right into his abdomen. It had caught him so off guard that he didn't have time to catch himself before hitting the mat.
You stood above him, the tip of his own blade pressed lightly against his skin. After months of training, you had finally taken him down. You removed the sword, spinning it around in your hand before offering him help up. Damian accepted it, along with his weapon that you handed over.
His usually angered scowl was replaced with a prideful smile. It was the first time he had looked at you like this. You had genuinely taken him down without going easy on you. Damian was impressed, which didn't happen very often.
"You did good, (L/N)," he congratulated you. Of course you still had a long way to go, but if you continued to progress at this speed - you would be just as good as everyone else. "I believe it's time to test the new suit."
Your eyes widened in shock. With Damian taking your place as Robin, you had to create a completely different persona. This one, suited you far more than Robin ever would have. You hadn't gotten the chance to go out to the streets to use it, Damian still deemed you unready. Until now.
Bruce was out of the city that week - it would be just the two of you out there. For some god forsaken reason, it didn't scare you anymore. Being by Damian's side out there excited you.
"I'm ready."
><
The smile on your face wouldn't disappear.
After coming back from patrol you had been ecstatic about it. The night had gone perfectly smooth. Snobbish criminals were out and about - the perfect candidate for your first night out. Damian would watch from above, ready to swoop in if you ever needed help. There was only once where you had been far too out numbered.
A couple bruises here and there but nothing that was going to slow you down. You would have been out until dawn if he would have let you. Being out there, saving people, it made you feel alive. There was nothing more that you wanted than to go back out. Saving people, it was a whole thrill you didn't realize you were missing out on.
Damian could see how happy you were to be out there. When under Bruce's training you had gone out a few times here and there, but each time you were to stand by, never to dive in unless necessary. Damian had let you take the lead all night, it was a learning curve that you needed to accomplish.
Even getting back to the cave, you were still vibrating with excitement. As soon as you hoped off your motorcycle, you had flipped all around the cave. Damian only watched you - even though you were several years older than he was, it felt as if he was the adult. This whole time training you it felt as if he was older.
"That was incredible, Damian!" You grinned, stopping in front of him. The high of your night wasn't going away any time soon. It had gone well tonight, but Damian dreaded to see you after the hard nights. The nights that you couldn't save everyone. He suddenly felt protective of you, not wanting you to see how cruel it really was out there.
"What the hell were you thinking?" A sudden voice bombed through the cave. You and Damian were on high alert, weapons raised as to who was angered at you. Bruce stood at the entrance of the cave, his suit on and cowl lowered. You could see the scowl on his lips and feel the anger that radiated off of him.
He must have come back early from his trip. Bruce came home to an empty cave with both your suits out of their cases. He had known about your training with Damian, your sudden rebellion against him. He never imagined that Damian would be so reckless to take you out on the streets without him.
When he noticed the matching swords in your hands, he had only gotten more angered. Bruce hated Damian's choice of weapon - it was deadly and if used incorrectly could do more damage than it was worth. To have you pick up on his bad choices as well? It had enraged him. In the short time that he was gone, it seemed like you had betrayed him more than ever.
"Father-" Damian tried to explain.
"(Y/N) could have been killed because of this reckless behavior! Innocent people could have been killed!" Bruce shouted. He stormed towards the two of you. Whatever mission he was on must have gone bad, he was angrier than usual. "They're not ready! You had no right to lead a patrol without me knowing like that! It was irresponsible and-"
"Enough!" You yelled. You were tired of Bruce treating you like a little kid still. It was like he still saw you as that weak child that showed up to his home. You had grown, far more than ever in these few months. Bruce couldn't accept that you were old enough to realize what you could handle and what you couldn't.
Bruce and Damian looked over at you in shock at your sudden outburst. Ever since that fight with Bruce in the library, you had been giving him the cold shoulder. This was the first time that you had outburst to him in a long time.
"Damian's trained me better than you ever have Bruce," you narrowed your eyes at him. Damian noticed as you stepped between him and his father, as if you were protecting him. "You just don't want to accept that your son is better than you will ever be! I'm ready to be out there! I'm ready and you just can't fucking admit that it wasn't you who got me here."
"Dick, Jason, Steph, they were all right about you," You continued. "You raised kids as weapons, and as soon as they defy you, you can't handle it. Everyone left you, Bruce! Can't you see the pattern! It isn't because they're grown, it's because you're too fucking stubborn to see things any other way."
You scoffed at him and his ridiculous anger for thinking that he still had control over what you could and couldn't do. Damian watched as you stalked away from the both of them, slamming into Bruce's shoulder as you passed. Just like the rest of the kids that he had taken in, it was your time to leave as well.
Even if you appreciated everything that Damian did for you, you couldn't stay in that house anymore. Having Bruce watch over you, waiting for you to make one mistake so he could revoke your privileges, you couldn't handle it anymore. Bruce was the one holding you back for years, now that you were liberated, you weren't going to let it continue.
"(L/N)," Damian called out for you. He was jogging to catch up, leaving his father in the cave to ponder your words. It wasn't time for him to leave his father, not yet, but he understood where you were coming from. Bruce was the one to hold you back, you needed to be free of his reign to grow even more.
You paused for Damian, wondering what he had to say to you. You wished him to join you, the two of you could become your own dynamic duo. Damian would do better with you then he ever would with Bruce. Even if you had much to learn from him, he too had so much to gain from you.
"I just wanted to say," he awkwardly coughed before finishing. "I'm proud of you. For learning, adapting, for standing up for yourself. Whenever you wish to train more, I would feel honoured to help. I wish you the best of luck."
"Don't worry, Dames. I could never replace you."

Throne of Blood (3/3)
Hello there! Last part of Throne of Blood, I hope you appreciated this little serie! I loved t write it tbh, it was a nice change from the usual DC stuff I write. If you want a bonus chapter, let me know! I thought about doing either a prequel for when they invaded the castle, or some headcanons if y’all have some.
Ps: I realised I kinda made Bruce to be the bad guy here, oops. Sorry about that, but to my defence, family drama was something I built toward from the beginning 😅 Full disclosure, I have nothing against Bruce and Damian pls don’t come at me
Masterlist in bio / pinned!

"--and the might of the casc… cascade could never compare to the ce… cerul… cerulean of her eyes. She was his hope, the only thing he cherished, none of his posse...ssions could ever be worth as much as a minute with her"
You paused to breathe as you reached a paragraph break. You could feel Roy's relaxed stare on you, a small smile ever present on his lips. His hand was absentmindedly rubbing your knees that were lying over his thigh, while his other arm was snugly wrapped around your waist. The quiet crackling of the fireplace indicated the need to add a log, but neither of you wanted to move from your nestled position. Eventually one would have to, though, before the room grew cold.
"I like it when you read to me" Roy hummed, almost like he hadn't meant to say it out loud. But if you knew one thing about him, it's that he carried very little shame when it came to love. He would never intend to hide his thoughts when they came, and you admired that about him. Still, you couldn't help but look down in embarrassment.
Him and Jason had taught you to read some months after you joined them, when he passed you a map to find a town's name and you had to tell him you couldn't. Ever since, you worked often on your reading skills, leafing through whatever seemed interesting from Jason's library. But you weren't a natural, far from it.
"I can't even pronounce all the words correctly" You mumbled. "It must be hard to follow sometimes"
He gently pushed your chin up so he could look into your eyes again. It didn't matter for one second for him that you didn't have the diction of an erudit or the flow of a poet. All he wanted was to hear your voice and watch your eyebrows knit in concentration when you butted on a difficult word. He liked the little things so much better than the finished product.
"I think it sounds perfect"
The corner of your lips rose slightly at his praise as your heart skipped a few beats. Even after all the time you spent together, he always managed to find the right word to make you love him even more, if it was possible. His constant and unconditional support was your crutch, the thing you could rely on no matter what happened, the safe space in which you would never feel judged for what you couldn't do.
"You know" He began again when he noticed you had trouble believing what he said. You wanted to believe him, but deep inside he knew it was harder for you, and he understood all too well the feeling of not being enough. "I couldn't read either before I was taken in by my warden"
You tilted your head to the side, frowning slightly. You had never known.
"Took me years to get average at it. And you should have seen my writing-- Hell, you should see it now, it's catastrophic"
You couldn't help but giggle along as he laughed. It was contagious.
"It's the same with Jason--No wait, the brat actually taught himself how to read somehow" He blinked slowly, like he was still surprised by it. You weren't really, you knew Jason was even smarter than you were aware of. Than anyone was aware of. "But his writing was terrible until he got a proper tutor, that I know of for a fact"
"But his writing is so…" You trailed off, trying to find the right word. "Exquisite"
"Now who's pulling out the big words, uh?"
"Shut up" You laughed, lightly hitting his chest with the book. “Don’t mock me”
“I’m not!” He argued, giving you wide, innocent eyes. He looked too cute for his own sake. “I swear I’m not. You’re just adorable when you get all flustered”
“We better start gearing up now” You evaded the subject, clearing your throat. “Jason will be expecting us--”
“Just one more chapter” He interrupted softly, caressing your waist. “Please?”
You held his stare for a moment before you were convinced, and you nodded, a sheepish smile on your face. You opened the book to the page you had marked and found the paragraph you had stopped to.
“As he was sitting by the window, he couldn’t help but think about the ar-arrival of the spring, only a few weeks away if nature de...cided to be kind--”
“My Lord, my Lady”
You paused your reading and looked up. This time, it was Roy who looked the most annoyed of the two of you.
“It’s time”
You sighed and nodded, putting down the book on the table. Roy was clearly disappointed, but he helped you nevertheless get back on your feet, being careful not to pull on your bandages too much. You were healing well for your condition, you could now walk around and sit down without much help. Still, Roy and Jason didn’t like the idea of leaving you on your own for too long, just in case someone tried to come for you. You definitely couldn’t wield your axes just yet, so it made you an easy target even if you weren’t bed ridden anymore.
You walked out of the chamber beside Roy, him following your slower pace without complaint. You reached the other end of the hallways and entered another room with chests and racks, where your equipment was kept. You began putting on your suit, the one you had made when you rode beside the Red Hood, well before he was king. It was all black with a red pointed arch on the chest that imitated Jason’s sigil, which was outlined with a single silver following your collarbone. It rose up the back of your neck and was reinforced to protect your vitals.
“Could you help me pull it up, please?”
Roy nodded as he finished to lace his arm braces, stepping right behind you. He picked the stiff fabric and gently tugged it over your shoulder, brushing his fingers against your skin along the way. He was even more careful with your injured shoulder, making sure it wasn’t bent in any way to fit through the suit. He and Jason had advised against you wearing it, but you were stubborn and refused to show weakness in front of the enemy. Besides, it looked great on you. Roy then buttoned up the suit on your back and up your neck before giving you a kiss on the temple.
“Close your eyes, I’ve got a little something for you” He whispered in your eyes, and despite your initial confusion, you did as you were told and shut your eyes. You felt something being passed over your head and gently rest on your shoulders, then straps being adjusted on your sides. “You can open the now”
You did as he said and looked down as he gently directed you to the mirror on your left. He had placed a beautiful piece of equipment that paired well with the colors of your suit, lightweight and practical, that covered your shoulders front and back. You usually went without, but it was appropriate considering another arrow in the back would do you no good right now. And since you most probably wouldn’t be using your axes anyway, you could do without your full shoulder movements range.
“Where did you get this?” You asked as you trailed your finger on the skillfully crafted metal. There was no doubt it had been made for you by how it fit with both your body and suit. It must have cost a fortune.
“The blacksmith in town, the one living near the gates of the castle” He began. “His son was killed by the guild of thieves that lived uptown, the ones we wiped off right after the undertaking. He wanted to thank us somehow, and when he learned about what happened to you, he made this as a present”
“It’s… Very beautiful” You breathed out. “I’ll have to thank him later on. This must have taken so much time to make”
“But you deserve it” He said as he placed a light kiss on your jaw. “You deserve the best. And the best suits you”
“Thank you” You nodded, taking his hand. The leather of his archery glove was rough against your skin, but it had also become a comfort born from the endless days you spent training and hunting on the road. It was tied to some of your best memories with him, and it still amazed you how a simple touch could bring it all back vividly like that. “Come on, Jason must be waiting for us”
You went down to the court, where Jason was talking with the commander and some generals. Upon hearing your footsteps, he perked up and turned around, taking you specifically in. He smiled and nodded, heading for the three black steeds, groomed and in full armor, in the hands of the stable hands. You followed him and grabbed the reins of your mount, carefully climbing on its back and sitting in the saddle.
“Are we ready?” Jason asked.
“Of course” Roy replied first, then both of their eyes set on you.
“Let’s do this” You nodded firmly.
With a kick of your heels, you took off the court and onto the bridge, in the direction of the Wayne Kingdom.
---
“Soooooo…” Roy trailed off. “Do you think he stood us up or..?”
You looked away from the horizon and to Roy, who was slouched over the pommel of the saddle while his horse was trying to dig for grass through the snow. “Maybe he’s trying to ambush us”
“I don’t think so” Jason mumbled, his eyes still set northwest. His back was straight with a hand resting on his hips, the other holding the reins tight. His horse was attentive, chewing on its bit in anticipation. “It wouldn’t be like him, not while we’re on this hill anyway”
You nodded as your fingers flexed around the reins, a bit bored and definitely not impressed by the opposite party being late to their own meeting. There was barely any wind over the field, and the thick cover of the cloud didn’t let the sun rays through. Still, smoke came out of the horses’ nostrils with every breath they let out.
“There they come”
You glanced forward again at Jason’s warning, seeing a small party of riders coming your way. They didn’t seem to be in a hurry, walking rather than trying to reach you at a trot. The closer they came, the better you could point out characteristics for each rider. The one at the front was wearing all black with a cape that fell over the pale gray horse he was riding. It was almost white, but the dark skin around its eyes and nose proved differently. The second rider was on a smaller chestnut horse, and was a child. You blinked a few times, but his youthful features were obvious. The two other riders some paces behind were an escort, soldiers with steel armors and banners from their kingdom.
After a long waiting for them to actually be at hearing range, they finally stopped a few meters ahead and assessed your party. Jason was visibly tense, but his blue eyes gave nothing out on how he was feeling about seeing his father in front of him after all this time. They stared at each other for long minutes before the piercing glance of Bruce Wayne set on you. You clenched your jaw, not backing down, until his eyes finally left you.
“Your… Friend seems to have healed quite well” The older king spoke first.
“Don’t act like you give a fuck” Jason sneered. “You were the one who made this coward attack on her happen in the first place”
“Watch your mouth, runt” The child on the side almost barked. “You’re speaking to a legitimate King, unlike you”
“And who the fuck might this goblin be?” Roy said before he could stop himself. While the child looked appalled, Roy was still very relaxed on his horse. He might have been the only one to be, even if you did want to laugh at the outburst.
“I am the blood son, the true heir to the throne” He replied with all his might, except it didn’t quite have the desired effect, since he was on a pony, for one. “You peasant will respect me, or--”
“Damian, please” Bruce interrupted firmly. “Now is not the time to settle this”
“But--”
“Why am I not surprised that you fathered a brat?” Jason leaned forward, feeling taunting for a moment. “Which one of your concubines had enough bad luck to get pregnant? Selina? Or was it Richard’s lover, whatever was her name? Or maybe Talia, oh memorable Talia--”
“Don’t speak of my mother that way” Damian pulled his sword out.
“So Talia it is” He smirked.
“We are here to negotiate peace, not fuel a war” Bruce replied sternly. “I can do much worse than an arrow in the shoulder of a loved one, you know it. So be careful what you’re advancing about my family”
“Then keep your son on a tighter leash” Jason said, his face returning to a serious expression. “I still haven’t made my mind about keeping peace, don’t give me reasons to leave this meeting before we can discuss it”
“I should be telling you this” He squinted his eyes slightly. “You have thrown over a stable ally of this kingdom and stole the crown, then taken prisoner the King of Blüdhaven without giving a follow up on his state. You are in no place to threaten a war, yet here you are”
Jason waited a few seconds, not letting his stare waver. Then, he sighed and whistled. The plains were silent, until the faint sound of hooves cantering on the crisp snow grew closer to your position. Soon enough, you were passed on your left by another rider, slowly walking around you and toward Bruce’s party. Dick had a neutral expression as he turned around, stopping at Bruce’s side.
“Here” Jason waved his hand dismissively. “Your golden son, unharmed albeit slightly vexed”
“You should still pay for a crime like this” Bruce said.
“It’s fine” Dick tried to appease the tensions. “I do not wish to further this conflict, I have done enough already as it is”
“Why didn’t you fight back, Richard?” Damian asked in a judging and accusatory tone. “This is a disgrace to our family, and a display of weakness--”
“I was trying to avoid a much worse escalation of this conflict by owning a diplomatic mistake I made in the first place” He bit back. “What would you even know of politics, spoiled child?”
Roy laughed, and the sound only seemed to anger Damian more. You were in the middle of a family conflict, and unlike him, you didn’t know this side of the family well. You didn’t really know how to act, so you observed what would go down rather than actively participate.
“I find the ginger man’s insolence unwelcomed in this matter” Damian said, trying to wash down the humiliation his brother had just handed to him. “He’s got nothing to do with it, and he’s got no title. He shouldn’t even be speaking”
“He speaks because I say he can” Jason defended Roy in a heartbeat, his tone strong and authoritative. “As far as I’m concerned, I’ve got a crown and you don’t, which puts me above you in status and therefore my wishes outweigh yours”
Your eyebrow rose slowly as your eyes met Roy’s, who had an equally stunned expression. Jason had never used his status against anyone like that. It even seemed to take Damian by surprise, which was, with what you had learned about him in the last minutes, a hard feat to accomplish. If you were honest with yourself, while you loved Jason as a humble king, you were curious about the other side of him, even if he would show it in private.
“Your crown was stolen” Bruce reassessed. “The Kingdoms surrounding yours have decided this gesture would not stand. I wished a peaceful surrender from you, but it doesn’t seem like I will convince you to do so. You have three days to abdicate, until the next full moon, or your kingdom will be taken back by force”
“You think this is wise?” You finally spoke up on instinct, and all eyes turned to you, looking at you with surprise. You weren’t about to let those threats stand, especially not from Bruce. “Ever since King Jason came into power, he wiped out a guild that stole from families and murdered good people. Our kingdom is the safest for miles around, so much we get waves of new settlers even in winter. He lowered taxes on the population so much that most towns in the country have become flourishing trade posts in the span of a year, and instead taxed the nobility and cut on useless balls and dinners. Nobody starved last winter, and nobody is starving this one. Do you think the word didn’t get out to the other countries around? People are starting to want this for themselves too, and you think putting them through a devastating war will make things better? It will only make them resent you, those who didn’t already. We have people in every castle you know of who are ready to turn against you the second they get wind of aggression--”
“Bullshit” Damian called.
“Are you ready to take the risk?” You raised an eyebrow at him, before returning your glance to Bruce, who betrayed no emotion. “You will lose this war if you start it. You should consider your people before you send them to slaughter”
Silence fell over the hill for a moment.
“... What she said” Roy grinned, breaking the silence.
Bruce looked at Jason for a reaction, or most likely, some sort of opposition to what you had just said. Instead, he only readjusted his reins and straightened his back. “You heard right,” He said, not wavering. “You have three days, until the next moon, to annulate the warrants and back down. Think about your people, Bruce. Make the right decision”
With that mocking reprise of his father’s previous words, he turned his horse around and left him dumbfounded. With one last glance to their party, you followed Jason, trotting, then cantering away and back into your borders. Once you passed your soldiers’ road control, you slowed down to a walk.
“Huh” Roy exhaled as he leaned forward to glance at you over Jason’s horse between you two. “I didn’t know we had spies in other kingdoms”
“Now that I think about it,” Jason blinked a few times, his brows slightly furrowed. “Neither did I”
You shrugged. “Maybe we have them. That would be neat”
You saw confusion, then astonishment flash in their eyes like their reactions were synchronized.
“Wait, did you just--”
“Did you fucking lie to Bruce in his face?” Roy cut off, almost yelling. Then, he laughed. “In his face?”
“By the time he realizes, no, if he even realizes I bluffed, we’ll have a solid plan to ward him off, no matter what he does” You explained. “We win”
“How did you manage to convince him?” Jason had an innocent incomprehension written all over his features, like a child in front of a magic trick. He was adorable. “You had me convinced”
“Oh, boys” You grinned. “You think women survive this long in the world without becoming excellent liars? How do you think I managed to infiltrate the staff for a week before we invaded the castle?”
“By… Um” Roy trailed off. “Cleaning well?”
You laughed. “People had questions, my dear. I had to build myself a credible life to feed them, so I wasn’t thrown out of the castle instantly. Lying to the enemy is a skill I learned to cultivate a long time ago”
“You’re awesome, you know that?” He sighed, a loopy smile on his face. Jason still had a starstruck expression on his face, his eyes sparkling with admiration.
“Wouldn’t hurt to hear it again, I must admit” You teased back, jutting your chin up. “But there is one thing that would be better… Last one in the bedroom owes the first one a shoulder massage”
You didn’t wait for them to register your words before kicking your horse to a gallop, no doubt closely followed by them.
---
The dancing light of the candles of the chandelier left a soft glow on your naked skin, moving around and spreading warmth as it crawled up and down your body. You were sitting upright as hands moved gently on your shoulders, careful to avoid the sensitive area of your still healing wound. In your laps was Jason’s head, your hands threading slowly in his black hair as his eyes were shut close. He wasn’t sleeping, his breathing made his chest rise too fast for him to be. But he was relaxed, his neck muscles were untensed on your legs and there were no harsh lines on his face.
You looked behind you when Roy’s hand stopped massaging, pulling your hair to the side and kissing the back of your neck.
“You really gotta get a faster horse” Your lips curved upwards. “You’re always losing these races”
“I think my horse’s speed is just fine” He whispered back. “Besides, you are both right where I want you to be”
Jason smirked. “Losing is always suddenly part of someone’s plan when they never win”
“Laugh all you want” He sighed, dramatically laying down on his side beside you, then leaning forward close to Jason’s ear. “We all know I end up winning anyway when you beg my name like a prayer, My King”
You could feel the shiver travel up his spine on your laps, as well as the sudden shift in the tension in his muscles. You played along and let your hand slightly pull his hair, which surprised a moan out of him. His eyes opened wide, the blue of his irises being quickly consummated by the black of his pupils. Then, his glance set on Roy, something hard to read beside the promising spark in it.
“Are you sure you’re ready for a, what, fourth go at it today?” He raised an eyebrow as his hand brushed his cheek. “I didn’t think you jaw recovered from earlier”
You laughed airily as Roy grinned mischievously. “Maybe you can take that voice when you put that brat child in its place” You suggested as you trailed up your hand up Jason’s bare chest. “I’m sure he would be happy to get back on his knees if you did”
Roy groaned at the suggestion, already imagining the whole scene behind his fluttering eyelids. However, Jason didn’t quite follow up on his reaction. “Don’t tempt me with…” He trailed off, then noticed the mood change. “Hey, is there something wrong?”
Jason blinked, then shook his head and gave a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. “I’m fine” He muttered, leaning forward to place a soft kiss on Roy’s lips.
“No, something’s bothering you” He insisted gently. “What is it, Jay?”
Jason sighed, shaking his head. “It’s nothing” He replied, looking up to the ceiling. “Don’t worry about it”
“It’s clearly not nothing” You said as your hands threaded softly in his hair. “What’s eating at you?”
A silence followed your words. It was like Jason was searching for the right words, like he wanted to say it so bad but something else was holding him back. You were patient, however, and you didn’t mind that he took his time to tell you. You knew he would talk when he’s ready.
“It’s what Bruce said” Roy beat him to it, speaking barely over a whisper. “Isn’t it?”
You looked in between the two men, noticing how Jason did not deny Roy’s words. It was like they were having a silent conversation for a few seconds, before Roy put a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“It’s how he didn’t see him as part of his family anymore” Roy spoke up, addressing you this time. “How Bruce didn’t seem to have any regret about replacing him in any way possible”
“Even after all this time” Jason gulped. “He won’t even stop reminding me he didn't care”
“Oh, my love” You reached for his hand and grabbed it, intertwining your fingers with his and giving it a squeeze. “He doesn’t deserve you beating yourself up about him like that. You’re worth so much more than anything he could even give you”
“She’s right,” Roy nodded. “We’re your family now, not him. Not him ever again. And I promise you we’ll never betray you that way, we’ll never set you aside. You’re our lover, you’re our King, you’re the most important person for us, and we would do anything for you”
You could see the crystal gleam of tears pooling in his eyes before he blinked them away, resisting the urge to break down. Jason had not often known true affection until he met Roy, then you. He felt like he didn’t deserve either of you, and sometimes he wondered why exactly you decided everyday to stay by his side. But you did stay, you did support him and guided him when he needed it. He wouldn’t have been anywhere near where he was right now without you.
“You’re both so good to me” He whispered, adoration clear in his voice as he glanced at you, then Roy. “What would I do without you?”
“You’d be wonderful either way” You smiled as you slipped beside him, careful not to pull on your bandages. Soon enough, Roy joined him on the other side, snuggling into him. “You’d miss on major cuddling, however”
His chest rose in a silent chuckle as he pulled you and Roy just a little bit closer. “Give yourselves more credit, I’d crash and burn without you both by my side”
“Let’s not bother with what ifs, yeah?” Roy replied, his lips curved upward as he kissed his shoulder. “It only matters that you’re here with us today, and that you are a damn good King. The rest doesn’t matter”
“The rest doesn’t matter” Jason repeated in a mutter, nodding lightly. “Only you. Only us”

jason todd x reader where the reader breaks up with jason and he is just going through it
Breaking the habit
Thank you @yourcatcoffeeaddictfan for the suggestion! Hope you all like
Some sad bits and some swearing, but a nice ending.
Jason Todd x female reader
Jason was a recovering alcoholic when he met you 3 years ago, he made it quite clear from the start.
'Get all the judgment out the way' he said, he never sugar coated stuff with you. What you see is what you get.
Things were great at first but now was different, he seemed distant and angry. More angry than usual.
You lay in bed alone one night looking at the clock beside the bed, 2.30am. You sighed and sat up, realising sleep wasn't a thing tonight.
You stood in the kitchen drinking a cup of tea when the front door to your apartment pushed open, you heard a shuffle into the apartment and a mumbling Jason.
Jason fumbled with the lock as he swayed a little, you watched him in amusement as he must have had a rough night on patrol.
'Hey stud, need a hand with the lock?' You asked smiling, Jason just looked shocked at you. Like he wasn't expecting you.
'Shit doll, I didn't wake you did I?' Jason asked slurring a little. You shook your head, you walked over and locked the front door, sniffing at Jason a little. Looking him in the eyes.
'What is that smell?' You asked him serious, Jason just went red in the face and broke down in tears.
Jason walked off into the kitchen as you followed questioning what was wrong, Jason seemed to want to get away from you.
'Jason, have you been drinking?' You asked, deadpanned. Jason just looked at you, then to the floor.
'Yes, just one drink' Jason said, you folded your arms.
'One? You smell like the entire bar Jason' you scalded, Jason got mad at you now.
'I can handle one night of drinking y/n, I don't need your shit' he shouted, you chuckled.
'You can't handle one night Jason, you're an alcoholic. Recovering alcoholic at that, you've been sober for 4 years' you said, sadness and disappointment in your voice at the end.
'It's just once' he said, you looked mad now.
'Just tonight?' You asked, Jason had a tell when he was lying, and the tell was showing.
'Yeah'
'You're lying, I know you are. How long?' You asked, Jason turned away then turned back to you.
'A few months ok, 5 months' he replied, you looked heartbroken.
'You've been lying to me?' You asked shocked, Jason just looked guilt ridden.
'I'm sorry' he whispered, holding back the tears.
'You couldn't tell me? After everything, after all this time you lied' you shattered, you cried. Jason wanted to hold you but he knew the last thing he should do is touch you.
'Please let me explain' Jason tried to reason, but you were done.
'I want you to leave, I need you to go please' you said, tears in your eyes but you were stern.
'Babe please, y/n, I love you' Jason cried.
'I love you too, but I can't do this anymore. You have lied to me all this time, betrayed my trust and now I can't, I can't do this' you replied softly. Jason looked in shock, not knowing what to say. He went to to hug you, which to his surprise you accepted. But it hurt. Was this the last time he'd touch you?
...
Jason woke up with a pounding headache, a throb he had long forgotten until the first day after he drank again. This relapse was different, because he couldn't hide it for long. He looked over at the doorway to see Dick.
'How's your head?' Dick asked quietly, Jason just rolled his eyes and shook his head.
'I'm never drinking again, this is it' he replied. Dick smiled slightly.
'I've heard that before' Dick sat on the side of the bed.
'I mean it Dick, I've lost y/n because of this' Jason had sadness in his voice when he spoke. The events of last night still in his hazy brain. The look on your face made him tear up.
'She'll take you back, I'm sure' Dick reassured.
'She won't, not now, she was sincere in what she said' Jason replied, hint of anger in his voice. Anger at himself.
It had been a few days and you weren't taking any of Jason's calls, answering any of his texts. Jason wasn't sure how you were feeling.
'Hey, y/n texted me. She wanted me to tell you she needs some time, let her come to you' Dick said holding his phone up for Jason to see the screen. Jason was tearing up again.
'I miss her' Jason said, Dick nodded.
'I know bud, be patient' he said with a bright smile.
...
Few more weeks went by and Jason was depressed. Not moving off the couch unless to go to the bathroom or get food.
'Hey Dickie, how was work?' Jason called out to Dick who just walked in the front door.
'Was fine, have you got dressed today?' Dick asked Jason, Jason shook his head and pulled his hood up.
'Catch any criminals?' Jason asked trying to change the subject.
'Jason, B is worried and so am I. You're ot dealing with the breakup very well. Dad thinks maybe you should come out on patrol with us' Dick said softly. Jason just drew his attention back to the TV.
'I'll get back to you' Jason mumbled.
...
Patrol with a depressed and heartbroken Red Hood was a new experience, he seemed to be taking all his frustration out on the criminals.
'Take it easy' Red Robin called out to Red Hood as he punched a criminal over 10 times.
...
Bruce was making sure Jason was getting up and about, not just sitting round feeling sorry for himself.
Alfred was keeping Jason distracted with teaching him how to bake.
Dick was just Jason's shoulder to cry on if he was down.
Tim, to his own surprise, was willing to help Jason with anything he needed. But also mostly to keep and eye and make sure he didn't start killing.
Damian was the one who kept Jason from drinking mostly. Not because he was a kid, but because he was more innocent then Jason realised. He was impressionable at his age, even though he uses a sword, he still was a child.
...
Jason was doing really well now, 2 years sober and even dating new people. Nothing exclusive, just feeling around. He was walking down the street in a tailored suit when he bumped into a woman in a black skin tight dress and leather jacket.
'Y/n?' He said, you looked at him and smiled.
'Jason? Oh my' you smiled back and hugged him, he hugged you back. You kissed him on the cheek.
'How you been?' Jason asked,
'Great, just got the big promotion I was waiting for and the new apartment' you smiled brightly, 'how've you been?'.
'Awesome, 2 years sober and working hard. Dating here and there' Jason replied sincere.
'So proud, so proud you stayed on the good path' you smiled again, Jason smiled back. He was scared his feelings would flood back, but he only felt respect for you. You left him and now he knows you did it to save him.
'I better go, but it was great seeing you again Jason' you hugged him again, Jason hummed in response.
'Great to see you too, you look amazing by the way' Jason laughed, you blushed a little.
'You look really good Jason, take care of yourself. Give my love to the family'
'I will, keep in touch' Jason said. As you both parted ways, you both had a weight lifted. It was a sigh of relief. You were both doing well and didn't need each other anymore.
Jason was sure that you would've been sad like he was after, but he knew that you were genuinely happy to see him. As he was to see you.
Not all breakups are awkward!

• kal el.. fell in love with her. lois lane, she is an reporter fighting for alien rights.
• he met with her. in secret. and they.. had formed a connection. an amazing one.
• and then they had a baby.
• at the alien base, but.. she was human and people did not like that. so they wiped her mind and made her believe that they never had a kid. like the last few months.. wasnt real. she had gone missing those months since the aliens didn’t want her trying to hide the baby, they made her believe the last few months was spent in a coma and kal had found her and taken her to a hospital.
• he couldn’t see her anymore. he mourned for her lost presence, but they would have killed her if she stayed.
• but now they had precious jon el. he would be the highlight of their cause.
• they noticed his powers came in faster than kal’s, so they perfected his powers.
• he was going to bring humanity down on order of his grandfather, jor el
• kal saw his son break slowly. loses that childhood innocence that kal tried to maintain.
• his sons amazing bright blue eyes dulling, loses the spark that he cherished.
• kal was going to get him out of there, try to refuge the remaining childhood he had. even if it killed him.
• damian wayne! the bright bubbly and prodigal son of bruce and talia wayne ( b & t are married, suck my— ). the press loved him, he was just.. him. he was the baby and was cute, the cutest ever
• he was an expert in martial arts due to the training his grandfather, father, mother, & so much more gave him
• ra’s owns a farm. he’s.. sorry all i get is farm ra’s vibes due to.. something:) think endgame thanos, yk?
• he was the baby robin, one that you never messed with due to the herd of heroes who would come save him
• kalel left jon with Lois, a brief note explaining the current situation
• it was weird, jon was ten and was meeting lois for the first time
“Hi, honey.. I’m lois.”
“I know.. Dad told me about you.”
“Oh.. right. What do you want for dinner?”
“I’m not hungry.”
“You have to eat.”
“No! I’m not hungry!”
• an explosive, superpower alien. Lois is way out of her head.
• he had outbursts, a lot of them. it was hard, really hard for Lois; she took some time off from the planet and focused on jon
• he broke a lot of stuff. he sometimes could not control his strength, but she was working with him
• but then one night he ran away, or flew away. he felt remorse for making Lois cry. she saw this as a win, but she lost her kid
• but then a little robin found him
“Um. Are you okay?”
“Huh-what- what do you want? Why are you talking to me?”
“Because you look sad? Yknow - hugs make people feel better. My ahki ( brother ) hugs me when I’m upset and it makes me feel better.”
“Don’t touch me.”
*Damian walked to him, smiling softly* “cmon, i won’t hurt you, silly. I’m robin.”
“A bird?”
“Haha- no, a vigilante- i sorta snuck out. My family can be a bit overbearing- and I sorta embarrassed myself at this theater thing.. some person—“
“Did I ask?”
“No.. sorry.”
“Hey— what are you doing - !”
“Hugging you.”
Jon won’t admit that he likes it, it’s different and weird, like this traffic cone in front of him. Jon pushed him off though, making himself stumble and fall on his ass.
“Ow..”
“Don’t touch me.” With rhat, Jon flew off into the night. Damian didn’t know who this boy was. But he intended on finding out. Even if it killed him. ( maybe not that extreme, but- )
• look damian was smart, right? smarter than average, and smarter than everyone in his school. teachers included ( ha ha )
• so he had to find this boy! so he started looking into aliens. until his family put an end to it
“Damian, this is dangerous.”
“But baba ( dad )”
“No. Go to your room.”
“Ugh!”
• he did slam his door shut if you were wondering
• he will find the mysterious alien boy, okay? he will!
• his brothers teased him and said he had a crush
• no he didn’t! the boy was really mean, he pushed damian- why would he do that? whatta jerk!
• but damian did find him again when he ventured off to metropolis to visit an old friend, colin.
“Alien boy!”
“That’s not my name, bird boy.”
“And that’s not mine. You didn’t tell me yours!”
“I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“It’s safer for you.”
“I can defend myself. You sound so silly, please tell me your name?”
“No.”
“‘Least the first initial?”
“Fine. J.”
“J it is.”
“Yours?”
“Wha- what? I told you my code named.”
“It’s only fair.”
“.. Okay. D.”
“D. Okay.”
• damian talked to him for a bit before jon did fly off when damian was talking about the stars, damian knew he was getting closer to him
• but he got grounded. whoops. he wasn’t supposed to go out
“Give me your phone, Damian.”
“What if I go out? I need a phone, baba.”
“I.. Your computer”
“School work.”
“Switch.”
“What! No- but-!”
“Damian.”
• yeah damian was very mad, but what made him madder was that apparently, his family was listening to the secret conversations between J and him. but d didn’t know that yet..
• his family needed to track down J, they didn’t care if people were aliens, the JL had aliens.. but they had no idea who this boy was, and the way damian was looking into the underground alien sanctuary, that worried rhem. Damian was smart and cunning, but he is able to portray an innocent persona, they all had the habit of undermining his intellect, so if damian began looking into this, it was for a reason
• jon found that D rambled. A lot. Even when jon didn’t respond. Jon doesn’t even know how D always found where he was. It’s so weird.
• but Lois noticed a change in jon.. he was. calmer. she didn’t know how, but when he went out, he came back calmer.
“I have to go to Gotham for a gala hosted by Bruce Wayne, would you.. like to come?”
“Do you want me to?”
“I’d like you to, but you don’t have to.”
“.. Fine.”
• lois walked to bruce with Jon in tow.
• “bruce.” “Lois, looking lovely as always.. who is this?” “Jon, my son. Say hi, Jon.” “Hi..” “He can hang around one of my sons— Damian, if you want? I’m sure him and his friends would love to have Jon around.” “What do you say Jon? Would you like that?” “Not really..” “I assume you, Damian doesn’t bite. Not anymore. And he’s pretty accepting.” “.. Fine.”
• damian was called over by his father and he did a double take. J. Was here. In front of him. Damian just internally shrugged and held a hand out, “Hi! I’m Damian! Wanna go play with my friends! there’s a game room so we don’t have to be with the gross adults.. you can also just.. sit there. My friends are pretty.. Loud?” “Okay.”
• jon had to take his hand back from damian since damian began eagerly tugging him.
“Damian seems to be accepting him pretty easily.” “I hope they can be friends, Jon.. doesn’t have any. I have only recently got him from his.. father.” “Odd, does he go to school?” “No, not yet, I’m still trying to get him adjusted.” “Ah.. Damian goes to West-Reeves. Maybe he could go there?” “That private school? Bruce.. I cannot afford that- not all of us are millionaires.” “Mhm.. I could pay.” “I can’t let you do that.” “He could get a scholarship.” “In what?” “Academics or athletics.” “Ill.. Talk to him about it. “ “well, ms lane, I just go talk with potential partners, I’ll see you later.”
• j got accepted into west reeves under a athletic thingy.
• that was cool. they became best friends!
• sorta
• flashforward 5 years to 15, their dynamic only grew. Damian told Jon his identity, jon didn’t become a hero, but did learn how to stitch damian up because tje idiot showed up bleeding a lot.
• everything was going great
On the phone, Damian: J! J! Guess what’
J: you’re so loud, D, what?
D: I got the lead! In the play!
J: no fucking way?
D: way!
J: Good j—— *crash*
D: J-?
D: J- Jonathan?
D: oh no.
• the call was ended abruptly. Jon always finished his sentences. Something was wrong. Something was really wrong.
• so damian called Lois quickly and ran downstairs to the batcave, lois wasn’t picking up either, she normally always picked up or at least sent a text. She did neither
“Baba!”
“Damian? You should be asleep.”
“Something’s wrong! Somethings really wrong!”
“Jon and Lois- Jon- I heard a crash- and- and”
“Habibi.”
“Mama?”
“Breathe; tell me what’s wrong.”
“I was on a call with Jon.. I told him about the play since I wanted him to go and stuff. Then I heard a crash. And then the line went dead. I’m scared— what if something happened!”
“Let’s not jump to conclusions, what happened with Lois?”
“She didn’t pick up the phone— she normally does! Or she texts me and says she will call back!”
“Maybe she is asleep.”
“No! You need to believe me!”
“Damian, calm down, I do, we will go to see if they’re okay, you get back to bed.”
“No. I’m coming with.”
“No you arent.”
“But!”
“Listen to your father.”
• okay fine. He’ll listen, damian went back up to his room for half an hour before calling his friends to do a rescue mission. He had an extra suit in his room, he can do this.
• with his team, it consisted of shazam, abuse, nobody, and green lantern, himself too, of course.
• captain marvel picked him up once he was ready and they met up with the other 3.
Maya: you said he’s in trouble?
Dami: Yes.
Colin: than let’s go save him!
• they went and saved the bestie, nearly got killed too
• oh and now damians sorta probably grounded when batman shows up 🤡
J:You came for me..?
D:We all did.. why are you so surprised?
J: * wraps his arms around damian * thank you
D: i- yeah.. anytime. what’re friends for?
• friends. Jon liked that. Jon also liked the way Damian’s cheeks went red when jon hugged him
• jon knew he chuckled before Damian’s arms wrapped around him. hard. Damian was a hard hugger
• jon became a superhero at 16. Damian had even more of a reason to sneak into his window every night now! Lois had began thinking the two were dating
D: Us? Dating? Please! He is way too good for me!
J:
L: awwww, gosh, how haven’t you been swept off your feet yet?
J: he has, but he has rejected them all
D: what can I say? I’m a gay theater kid ( this is a /j i promise a big big joke ) so they gotta be dramatic enough to put up with me, AND they need to do something big and bold to actually catch my eye
L: *laughs* take notes, jon
J: mom!
• jon has gone to a few of Damian’s plays and to dress rehearsals
• he was also there to watch damian wreck a car during his drivers test
D: there was a fricking squirrel there, J!
J: are you sure? maybe you’re just a shitty driver?
D: you’re a shitty driver!
J: cmon don’t pout
D: ‘m not!
• he was pouting. oopsie. jon did get him ice cream after
• jon goes by abnormal, because he’s an alien and because I don’t have any other ideas
J: this girl asked me out
M: oh? who! tell us!
D: ..what?
J: yeah, in my physics class
T: ooh! get it, jonno
M: give us a name, coward!
J: her name is Charlotte— but she goes by charlie. she’s.. different. red head. pretty freckles—
M: pretty freckles? does Jonny have a crush?! Oh my gosh, our sons growing up, Tai!
T: im about to start sobbing
J: fuck offff— D?
D: huh?
J: you’re being quiet, you plotting??
D: uh. yeah! duh- *he nudged jons shoulder with his, forcing a grin* figuring out ways to embarrass you in front of your girlfriend.
J: sucha brat- * jon ended up putting Damian into a playfully chokehold *
• damian just played along. he just smiled and watched as jon began walking with her instead of their friend group
M: hey- kid- you alright?
D: I’m onto a year younger than you Maya.
M: tou didn’t answer the question
D: I’m fine, why wouldn’t I be? You’re silly.
• tai ended up pulling him aside
T: when are you going to tell him?
D: how am I supposed to when he basically has a girlfriend now?
T: are you just gonna sit there and pine all day??
D: yes, thank you for understanding
• he’s a stubborn little shit and will absolutely not confess, his best friend is happy, who is he to ruin that?
T: he’s totally jealous.
J: so- do you- do you think it’ll work? That he’ll be surprised?
T: totally
J: thank you for lending me your girlfriend, Maya
M: anytime- not literally- you aren’t having her again
• this was all a trick, sorry, d.. jon does like you
• ( hope you all saw that foreshadowing earlier :) )
• damian needed big and dramatic. jon was gonna do that. even if he was uh. sorta aloof and shy.
• he learned how to sing and play the guitar for Damian. maya and tai were gonna scatter flower petals onto the floor for Damian to follow ( they will tell him too too )
• the whole school will probably watch as Damian finally gets a big dramatic proposal
• damian will love it
M: just follow the petals!
D: I’m confused
M: trust us
• damian did and followed the petals and low and behold, jon kent with a guitar and small smile
D: j-jon?
J: hey. I wrote you a song
D: no you didn’t
J: shut up and listen dumbass
*after that amazing song of how Jon asked damian out to homecoming*
D: that was amazing
J: dramatic enough for you?
D: YES! ( damian went and sprinted to jon, hugging him so tightly before leaning in to kiss him ) we are boyfriends now right
J: yeah, idiot
D: ur the idiot
• I can’t add anymore because myphones really laggy, I hope you enjot

We’re Tired of Him (part 2)
Dick stared at the cards in front of him, eyes tentatively drifting to Tim and Jason.
Jason’s brows were furrowed before he slowly put down a +4, cheekily grinning at Tim. “I choose red.”
Tim’s face was blank, eyes switching from the stack of cards on the table to the ones that he was holding. In the end, he gave Dick a mischievous grin, putting down another +4. “I want green.”
Dick groaned and the cave was filled with his brothers’ laughter, they gave each other a high five while Dick grabbed 8 cards from the deck.
“You guys are cheating.” he accused.
Jason shrugged and Tim raised an eyebrow, neither one saying anything.
Jason had five cards left and Tim had three. Dick would be winning if it wasn’t for that stupid +8 trick they pulled off.
He put down a green card, leaving him with nine cards.
“Uno,” Tim called out, not flinching when Dick glared at him.
No one said anything for a few seconds until Dick’s voice cut through the silence. “I don’t want to play anymore.”
Tim gaped at him, “That’s not fair.”
“What’s not fair is the fact that the two of you are conspiring against me.”
“We are not!”
“Are too.”
“Are not.”
“Are too!”
“Jason, tell Dick that we weren’t cheating.”
Jason stared back at the two of them, unimpressed. “We weren’t cheating.”
Tim gave him a victorious look. As if he was trying to say, see. Jason agrees that we weren’t cheating, so we obviously aren’t cheating.
“That doesn’t prove anything.” Dick cried out, “Why would Jason admit that you guys were cheating?”
Jason frowned, “Are you accusing me of lying?”
“Yes!”
“That’s not very nice of you, Dickie.”
“I don’t care if it’s not nice of me. You’re cheating and I don’t want to play with a bunch of cheaters.”
Laughter filled the air and Dick turned towards it, launching himself towards the intruder.
Behind him, Tim took a defensive position, bo staff in his hand and Jason had his guns out, ready to shoot the intruder.
With rubber bullets, of course.
The intruder groaned in pain, “Well, at least I know that it doesn’t matter how old you are. You’re still a very sore loser.”
Dick glanced down, getting off the person when he realized who it was. “Sorry, Wally.” he apologized, offering his hand to pull the red-head up.
Tim frowned, “What are you doing here?”
“Yeah,” Dick added on. “Didn’t you guys have a mission or something?”
Wally sped over to the closest chair and sat on it, “Yeah, but we finished it pretty quickly.”
Wally’s eyes were focused on his hands and Tim followed the speedster’s gaze, noticing how they seemed to fidget.
Tim inwardly frowned, was there a problem or something. Everyone in the Justice League knew that the Batcave was off limits. And even then, they didn’t make an effort to try and enter it.
Wally was lucky that Dick was here or else Batman would’ve had to deal with him.
Thankfully, Jason spoke up, “There better be an emergency or something cause it's game night. And you just interrupted it.”
Wally opened his mouth, “You know Damian right?”
Tim stared at Wally, “Yeah, we know Damian. He’s our brother, you idiot.”
“No- I mean- like- I-“ Wally sighed, “I know he’s your brother, it’s just-“ he groaned, “I don’t know how to explain it.”
Tim wanted to groan as well. This was supposed to be game night. A bonding experience. He didn’t want to talk about Damian.
He would be lying if he said that he still didn’t harbor a grudge against the youngest member of the Wayne family.
When Jason tried to kill him, he was under the influence of the Lazarus Pit. And afterward, he apologized to Tim.
As far as Tim knew, Damian wasn’t under the influence of anything. All Damian said was something about how Tim wasn’t worthy of becoming the Wayne heir and tried to slice him with a sword.
Bruce said that he had a talk with Damian about it but the brat never apologized, so Tim hasn’t forgiven him.
Dick’s voice snapped Tim out of his thoughts, “Did Damian do something again?”
“Kind of.” Wally waved it off, “He was just acting like- well, himself.”
Tim winced, that was still pretty bad.
“What did he do?”
“It’s not important.”
“It must be pretty important if you risked going to the Batcave.” Jason pointed out.
“That’s actually not why I’m here.”
It was Jason’s turn to frown. None of this shit was making sense.
He knew that he should’ve just stayed with Roy.
Jason was under the impression that they would be playing games. You know, hanging out, making a mess, being forced to bond like brothers and all that shit.
He didn’t want to talk about the demon brat.
And if anyone asked, the answer was yes. He was still mad at the little Christmas gift Damian got him last Christmas.
What the fuck gave the kid the idea to give Jason a crowbar as a gift?
Jason still had nightmares about his death. The crowbar did nothing but made those horrors come more often every night.
He fought off the shiver that threatened to make its way upon his body.
“If you weren’t here to talk about the demon, then what did you want to talk about?”
Wally faced them, “You wouldn’t happen to know a way to get the bra- Damian to relax would you?”
Jason heard Tim snort at the question, “Trust me. If we knew a permanent way to get Damian to stop being so uptight, we would’ve used it by now.”
He studied the speedster, narrowing his eyes when Wally started to avoid their gaze.
“Wally,” Dick was using his i-am-the-leader-so-you-have-to-listen-to-me voice. “What are you trying to say?”
“I mean, what if we get him drunk.”
Jason blinked, “You want to get Damian drunk.”
When Wally nodded, Jason continued, practically yelling. “Why the fuck would you want to get Damian drunk? He’s gonna kill you.”
Tim shook his head, his mind already coming up with a million scenarios of how this would end up. “How did you even come up with the idea that getting Damian drunk would help him relax?”
“Getting him drunk won’t help him relax at all.” Jason pointed out, “It’ll probably only make him even more uptight and paranoid.”
Jason’s blue eyes glinted with something Tim couldn’t decipher, “Unless that’s not what you’re after. You want to get the brat drunk for another reason.”
Wally nervously nodded, “You caught me. Well us- I guess. The team and I wanted your permission to get Damian drunk so that we can learn more about him and gain blackmail material on him.”
Tim froze, mouth open in shock.
That was a lot of information.
Dick sat down, his head beginning to hurt.
He could see the appeal in learning more about Damian. He’s been living in the manor for around two years now and they still don’t know much about him.
If Damian opens up about his past, then it’ll be easier for the family to help him. It’ll be nice for Damian to start getting comfortable with people. After all, that was the whole reason that Bruce signed him up for school.
And who knows, maybe his baby bird could make a new friend or two. Cause Dick knows full well that he doesn’t have any at the moment.
The cave was engulfed with silence, except for the sound of Wally’s feet nervously tapping the floor.
In the end, the speedster himself was the one who cut through it. “So…” Wally’s voice trailed off, “Do I have your permission?”
Tim’s eyes were focused on the ground. “I don’t care what you do to the brat but I want to be in the tower when it happens.”
Wally smirked, nodding in acceptance. “Deal,” he turned to the others “What about you guys?”
Dick shifted uncomfortably in the chair, his back was stiff and Tim could see how conflicted his eyes were. With a little bit of probing, he knew that he could convince his oldest brother to agree to Wally’s demands.
“Come on Dick,” Tim said, his lips tugging upwards. “Aren’t you even remotely curious about what Damian will say?”
When Dick doesn’t answer, Tim continued. “You know that Damian has a hard time with, um, interacting with people. This is probably the only way we’ll get him to open up.”
He could see the gears turning in Dick’s head and Tim realized that he was so close. All he had to do was push a little more.
“Doesn’t Damian deserve it? Damian deserves people who understand him. People that’ll be there for him. Hasn’t Talia fucked up his life enough?”
Dick clenched his fists at the mention of the Al Ghul, “Fine.” He spat out, “But only because Damian needs this.”
Tim raised an eyebrow at him, not believing a word. “Alright.”
Dick wasn’t stupid. He knew that Tim was trying to manipulate him into agreeing. But it also doesn’t change the fact that his brother was right.
Talia did mess up Damian’s life. She was the reason that he hasn’t opened up to anyone yet. Why he was treated like such an outcast with the other capes.
If all Dick had to do was get his little brother drunk, then he would do it.
Tim turned to his predecessor, “And you Jason?” he asked. His head was tilted innocently but his eyes were calculating him.
Jason knew he would be outnumbered if he disagreed. It also doesn’t help that Tim had his I-can-get-you-to-agree-with-anything-face on.
He groaned in defeat, burying his face with his hands. He knew that he should’ve stayed with Roy tonight. After this, he would never go to a game night again.
He looked at Tim’s determined face and sighed, “I’m not gonna be able to stop any of you anyway. I’m in as well.” his lips formed a smirk, “It won’t hurt to gain blackmail material on the brat.”
Damian better watch out because the next time he puts a crowbar underneath his pillow, Jason was gonna send the video of him being drunk out of his mind to everyone that he was in contact with.
Jason knows that Tim would help him.
“So you all agree?”
“Yes.”
“You’re agreeing to getting your brother drunk.”
“Yes.”
“Huh, okay. Great.”
Wally’s face turns mischievous and it reminds Dick of when they were kids. Back when they just started with the whole vigilante thing.
“So are you guys free for the rest of the night?”
“Wait,” realization hit Tim like the brick that Steph threw at him. “You guys are planning on doing this tonight?”
Wally nods, “Well, yeah. The sooner the better you know?”
“And when exactly did you guys come up with this plan?”
Wally rubbed the back of his neck, “Like about two hours ago? We were just talking and it escalated from there.”
Tim doesn’t know how you can go from talking to conspiring an idea on getting a teammate drunk. At least, not unless-
“You know, you can admit that you were talking about Damian.” Tim leaned forward, “You guys aren’t the only ones that talk badly about him.”
“Tim!” Dick cried incredulously, “You shouldn’t talk about Damian like that.”
He shrugged in response, “You do it too.” he said, “Remember when you first met him?”
He felt his face turning red and he turned away from Tim, hoping he wouldn’t see his face. “That was a long time ago.”
“You were also complaining about him yesterday.”
“I was not.”
“Was too.”
Tim folded his arms, “So you’re a sore loser and a liar.”
Dick fought hard to suppress a groan, “You guys were cheating.” he cried out. “I don’t play with cheaters.”
Jason faced Wally. “What they’re trying to say is that yes. We’re all free tonight.”
Wally smiled brightly. “I knew that you guys would be okay with this.”
Jason nodded, deciding he should be nice for once and not point out how Wally pale and nervous the speedster was before he asked the question.
For someone with super speed, Wally took way too long to get to the point.
He could see why he was friends with Dick.
“You know,” Wally’s tone got Dick’s attention. It was the one he always used where he wanted to embarrass someone. And Dick was usually the target. “I remember you hacking the Mario Kart back when we used to play.”
“Did I?” he put on his best confused face, “I don’t remember that ever happening.”
Dick definitely remembered that happening. He beat a speedster at a racing game. Hacked or not, he was still the winner.
Tim pointed an accusatory finger at him, “I knew it. You’re the cheater.”
Jason shook his head in agreement, “Dickface over here has the biggest competitive streak. Remember when he put the steak in his shorts just so he could prove to everyone that he was Titus’s favorite?”
Dick forced a frown on his face, “Funny thing is, I don’t remember that happening. At all.”
“That took place two days ago!”
“I have bad memory…?” he meekly offered.
Tim scoffed, “We’re never having a game night with you again.”
“You say that every week.” Jason pointed out.
“Well, I’m serious this time.”
“Uh-huh.”
Tim didn’t like the amount of attention that was now focused on him so he turned to Wally, “So how are we going to get Damian drunk?”
“We were just gonna spike his drink.”
Tim swore, “You can’t just spike Damian’s drink. He’s gonna figure out that you guys are acting weird and realize what you’re doing.”
Wally fidgeted under Tim’s scrutinizing gaze, “Well what do you suggest we do?”
Tim smirked and Dick swears that the room just got colder.
“The kid is pretty much a prodigy at everything vigilante related thanks to his training, but he sucks at socializing.”
“Well, yeah. Isn’t that why we want to get him drunk?” Wally asked, not seeing the point in what Tim is trying to see.
Tim answered the redhead's question with a “Well, yes.” before continuing at his attempt to tell everyone his plan.
“But what I’m trying to say is that we can overwhelm him. Me and Jason will help set everything up in the tower and Dick will bring Damian there.”
“So we’re throwing a party?”
Tim furrowed his eyebrows, “I mean, if that’s what you want to call it, then yes.”
It was Dick’s turn to frown, “Why do I have to be the one to bring him in?”
“Cause he likes you better than any of us.”
“But still,” Dick groaned. “It’s gonna be so hard to convince him.”
“That sounds more like a you problem than it sounds like an us problem.”
“This is unfair.”
“Call it paying me and Jason back for accusing us of cheating.”
Before Dick could reply, Wally sped away, taking his brothers with him. And before he could even blink, they disappeared via zeta tube.
They left Dick alone in the cave, with the board games still out.
He rolls his eyes in annoyance, mumbling under his breath as he cleaned up the mess.
“Who gave Bruce the idea to adopt more children past me. If he wanted more children, why couldn’t he make sure that he got the ones that cleaned up after themselves and didn’t cheat while playing UNO.”
He huffed, proud of himself when he accomplished the task.
Now all he had to do was convince Damian to come back to the Titans’ tower so that they could help him.
How hard could that be?

note: okay, I reread this whole series so that I could get inspired to write this chapter. And can I just say, my writing was not as bad as I thought it was. Like I’m actually pretty proud of myself.
That was really random but yeah.
(like I always ask, please comment any ideas, feedback, and criticism that you have. i love reading them. Oh! and if you see any spelling errors, please tell me. I don't have a beta reader so I mostly miss those things.)

You Don’t Know Me: Chapter 1
Gotham has always been known for its underworld. The underworld operated with great success thanks to the rich who put up the facade that Gotham was a great place to live and not one where crime families ruled. No crime family was more feared than the Wayne’s. Damian Wayne was the heir to the family business, destined to take over after his father.
Damian sat at the bar against the wishes of his guards. At the bar he was exposed, stripped of protection, which was exactly how he liked it. If he was going to be making a business deal he liked to give the other party a sense of vulnerability. With this many make the mistake of becoming vulnerable themselves which could in the end be used to exploit them and ultimately getting what he intended. On this particular day Damian was tasked with renegotiating terms with Trigon about his little drug operations. Trigon had invented and sold a little drug he liked to call Sin. Sin plagued many of Gotham citizens, both wealthy and poor, with addiction. Trigon had made the most demanded drug to ever hit the streets of Gotham City. While both Bruce and Trigon got along the tensions were still high. The meeting today was in regards to solving said tensions, or at least making them a little less suffocating.
Damian glanced around the restaurant taking notes of where his guards had situated themselves. As much as he wanted his freedom he always had to earn it through deception and distraction. His father prefered him with a guard in case any rivals attempted to take out the heir. Damian, having been trained to be an assassin by his mother, wished someone would try so he could finally prove himself to not need the surveillance.
Damian glanced down at the golden liquid swirling around his cup. He had been waiting long enough to be a glass and half in. The sound of a wooden door caught his attention causing him to turn his head towards the front of the restaurant.
Through the door two men walk in, following behind them is a woman hidden by their tall stature. From what he could see of her she was looking down focusing on what he assumes is something in her hands. Damian’s gaze lingers noting a faint familiarity to the way the woman presents herself. Turning his attention away he pulls out his phone taking a quick glance at the time. Six thirty- four great. I’m willing to give this guy six more minutes before I walk out that doo-
“Mr. Wayne.” a delicate voice interupts from beside him. A girl, interesting tactic Trigon, Damian thought as he moved to face the source of the voice. With every inch his eyes move up the more familiar it feels, until his emerald eyes meet her slightly violet eyes. Shocked was an understatement for how he feels in this moment. Damian hadn’t been expecting Trigon himself however he certainly did not expect the girl he’d been sleeping with for weeks to walk through that door. He shifts in his seat before composing himself. There are too many people around, too many witnesses, to reveal this girl as his weakness.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I thought you were someone else.” Her eyes full of panic as she herself attempts to understand the situation. Damian could not blame her. When they met he didn’t share his real name in fear she would’ve run away. He sees now that that was not the case. The innocent girl he knew as Rachel was just as much wrapped up in the ways of the Gotham underworld as he was. Taking control of the situation Damian gets up offering out his hand.
“No you have the right person. Damian Wayne.” He says sternly while looking at her hoping she would catch the “go along” tone.
“Uhh yeah… Raven.” She stretches out her hand to meet his. Her hand molds to his, the touch sending a wave of warmth through his torso, ultimately allowing thoughts of their previous encounter to rush in. She did so many things to him, including completely disarming him with the brush of her fingers. Pale fingers slowly remove themselves from his grasp, savoring every inch of contact before falling to her side. Raven lowers herself into the chair right next to him, stiff, unwilling to move in fear that one miscalculated action could lead to her life unraveling.
“I did not realize Trigon had a daughter. But I can see why he would keep a beautiful woman a secret. You are a secret weapon to him. ” Rosey lips turn upward, in addition a slight eye roll as Damian’s playful remark falls on Raven’s ears. Just as quickly the tension blew in the door it fades with that bright smile of hers. “Unfortunately it’s going to take a lot more than a pretty face to disarm me.”
“Whose says my purpose is to disarm you. I’m here because my father trusts me, and will be leaving me in charge if something were to happen to him.” She retaliates, as she pulls out a series of files her dad gave to her as she left. Placing the manilla folder on the bar top in front of them. An empty glass and a napkin, which she was sure was for her, pushed away to make room for more important matters.
“I’m sure you get whatever you want. Don’t you Rae?” The last word slipping out, as it was habit. Despite how natural it flowed from his mouth it was not lost on him, nor her, the mistake he just made.
The panic returns this time, mixing with threat. It was a dangerous game they were playing, and with so many spectators someone was bound to pick up on something. “Can I call you Rae?” He continues, playing off his slip up as charm.
Raven makes no comment. Sometimes the best response was no response. Instead she chooses to keep a stern face and look down and shuffle through the papers on the bar in front of them. Pulling out a list of demands made by her father and placing it on top of the array of sheets. Raven glances at Damian through the corners of her eyes. He studys the various documents put in front of him, eyes flicking from paper to paper. His face remains still, no indication that anything on the papers surprises him or even spikes an interest. His hand extends to the glass near him bringing to his lips. The edge lingering on his lips before he tilts the glass and finishes the rest of its contents in one sip.
“These terms are ridiculous. I’m sorry but has your father been sampling his own product. He is insane to think that we would even consider these terms. Come back when you have realistic terms.” He stands up. The chair makes a noise as it scrapes across the floors. He buttons his suit and makes his approach to leave, but before he does he looks back at her. Once more their eyes meet and all the surroundings fading before coming right back into focus. No wrong moves.
“Also... what do you want? I know what your father wants but what do you want?” He questions with less anger in his tone before he turns to head out the door. Raven watches as half the people in the bar get up and follow the young man out the door.

Raven knocks once on the door, making herself known. When they had developed the one knock system she thought it was going to be just for her assurance, she now realizes that it is a two way street. They are more similar than she previously thought. Here she was thinking he would never understand why they had to meet in secret or who she really was, but in reality he was probably thinking the same things.
The door opens revealing him. A tan face interrupted by green orbs. A face that she was now looking at for the second time today. She quickly walks through the small opening brushing past him. The door slamming shut behind her. He turns a hunger in his eyes. Oh had she been looking forward to this meet all day, and it was only heightened by their unplanned meeting. All she wanted to do at the bar was have her way with him in the bathroom, but surroundings limited their interactions, which she was not all too happy about.
“I figured out what I want.” Her voice just above a whisper as she takes a step, closing the gap between them. Raven leans up her lips meeting his, desperate to feel his body against hers. With her close and without the watchful eyes of others Damian felt no shame in grabbing her hips and pulling it against him. His thumbs digging deep into her hip bones. Desperate and needy pale fingers tug at the bottom of his shirt. The two breaking long enough for him to slip the shirt over his head. As he takes off his shirt she takes off hers, taking advantage of the time apart as she didn’t want to waste anymore of their time together.
Dipping back down his lips find their way to her neck, her head rolling at the feeling. His path of kisses continues to her bra strap, stopping to look into her eyes. The only emotion she could see behind green barriers was lust.
With one hand still holding her hips, Damian raised his other hand to the clasp of the bra. He took one side of the bra in between his index and middle finger. With his thumb he pushed on the fabric just past the clasp, the hooks unlatching from their holds. With the lack of tension, the bra straps fall down her arms. She allows the bra to fall to ground between them before bringing her hands back to his cheeks, pulling him towards the bed with her. The back of her knees meet the edge of the bed before she falls back onto the sheets, Damian following soon after.

“So your real name is Raven huh.” Damian looks at the woman as they both come down from their euphoric states.
“Yeah…” Raven can feel how rosy her cheeks are getting as she looks down letting her cover her face, hiding in shame. “I couldn’t exactly come out and say my real name. But you shouldn’t be saying anything, you did the same thing Damian Al Ghul.” Raven says mocking the last name he originally gave her.
Damian rolls over to get out of the bed, Raven catching a glimpse of the slight eye roll. If it was anyone else they would’ve interpreted his actions as anger or annoyance, but Raven knew better by now. He liked that she could give it right back to him, in more ways than one.
“So, shall we talk about the terms of your surrender?” His head turns to the side, just enough to see her face. His eyes shooting daggers at her.
“Fine no business with pleasure.” Raven concedes, knowing she hit a nerve. In the little time she knew him, and as much as she teased him, she had never seen him that angered by something she said. He fully turns to face her this time, any remnant of the anger gone, all that was left was his normal face, with a hint of sincerity.
“By the way, I was serious about that, Rae.”
“Serious about what?”
“Thinking about what you want. You have the power to change what you’d like, take advantage. Make sure you get what you want out of the deal. You can turn that so-called family business into whatever you want, without your father’s watchful eye. You are smart, and very powerful and make people fear messing with you.”
