Remus’ eyes shift from right to left, then to Peter across the street, who’s waving him over with his hook. Remus’ knuckles get pale as he grips his cane, and then in one swift move, he yanks off his mask and leans his head through the window, kissing Sirius soundly.

It’s brief, and near bruising, and Sirius finds himself sitting there dumbstruck when Remus pulls away.

Remus laughs at his expression and pulls his mask back down. “For luck,” he says, and joins the others across the street. Sirius sits there, lips tingling, and he bites down on one of them, craving the taste Remus left behind.
