As of today I am free of my soft diet to reintroduce foods as I see fit and maybe it’s over ambitious but I am attempting my normal breakfast toast (sprouted grain bread, ricotta, strawberries, a sprinkling of mini chocolate chips)

5, 9, 10, 13, 20, 21, 24, 25, 28, 30-35, 38-42, 44-46, 50, 52, 54, 60-62, 66, 71-74, 86-91, 96, 100! 😊
okay I literally have no clue how old this is and if I'm even taking the questions from the right post but here goes I guess? 🙈
<u>5. What is your favorite Color?</u>
PURPLE
<u>9. How tall are you?</u>
about 1,70 meters or 5'7"
<u>10. What shoe size are you?</u>
size 40-41, I think that's about 8 in US sizes?
<u>13. What talents do you have?</u>
uhhh good question... not sure if it counts but I guess I'm quite good at a lot if things but can't do anything extraordinarily well?
<u>20. Are you religious?</u>
Absolutely not. Due to family history and a lot of other things I'm actually against it a lot but people can do whatever they feel like is right for them as long as they don't harm others with it.
<u>21. Have you ever been to the hospital?</u>
Yes, quite a lot actually. practically grew up in hospitals as a baby because of kidney issues, broke both my legs with 4 years old, had to revisit for tests a lot during my childhood because of the kidney issue. it calmed down afterwards until I was back in hospital last year because of my terrible mental health and I'm currently in a rehabilitation clinic for it as well.
<u>24. Baths or showers?</u>
Shower's because we don't have a bathtub
<u>25. What color socks are you wearing?</u>
currently none, I love going barefoot, but usually I wear white, gray or black. I know... I'm a bad gay.. no rainbow socks (;ŏ﹏ŏ)
<u>28. What type of music do you like?</u>
you know.... I hate this question with a passion even though I love music so I'll just throw in my yt-playlist here and everyone who's interested can look through it to get a picture xD not sorted in any way and not a conclusive list at all, I just add songs as I find them
<u>30. How many pillows do you sleep with?</u>
mostly just one at a time but I've got two different ones. one is the normal fluffy kinda pillow, the other is made of some kinda foam material and rather thin.
<u>31. What position do you usually sleep in?</u>
I'm always lying on the side! have been doing that since I was a baby too.
<u>32. How big is your house?</u>
compared to what? 🙈 I'd say decent size for 5 people to live in, would have space for 1-2 more if rooms were used differently but definitely not enough to comfortably live with 12 or even more people like my family used to. we've got like 3 proper sleeping rooms (one of which is the attic so not very nice in terms of heat and the staircase is smack in the middle of the room), a kitchen, a dining room, a big living room, a tiny bathroom that barely fits a toilet and shower, and the basement is a mix of storage, electrics and stuff, washing room/utility room and it's got another smaller room that's been turned back into a small workshop but used to be the room of my brother and later my grandmother.
<u>33. What do you typically have for breakfast?</u>
I guess this is where it shows that I'm german but we usually just eat bread (preferably whole grain) with cheese or slices of salami or ..meat sausage? is that a proper translation? 🤨 idk... it's rather simple really. on the weekend maybe buns and boiled eggs. on the occasion that I'm too tired for it or don't have enough time I eat cereals but it's not very common when I'm at work/school
<u>34. Have you ever fired a gun?</u>
No, and I don't want to
<u>35. Have you ever tried archery?</u>
Yes!! I did last year when I was in the hospital and it was super fun! was quite good at it as well, even for my first try 😤
<u>38. What's the longest you've ever gone without sleep?</u>
I think about 3 days? if we count "barely unconscious for a few hours" as sleep that is... otherwise no clue...my memory of the bad sleepless time is quite hazy lol
<u>39. Do you have any scars?</u>
yeah, quite a few tbh. got 2 huge ones from surgeries due to my kidney issues, well they look like 2 but it's actually multiple ones since they simply cut open party of the old ones again, tiny hooman apparently have very little skin. then I got some other ones here and there from accidents, general dumbness, etc, like when I cut through my sunday morning bun and almost cut half of the tip of my finger off because my mother sharpened the knife and didn't tell me or that time as a kid I couldn't wait for my ironing pearl pictures to be done and burned myself on the hot iron, mostly stuff like that.
<u>40. Have you ever had a secret admirer?</u>
I mean.. if they're a secret... how would I know? ;) not sure if it counts that it took me months to realize I had a crush on my best friend and the feelings were reciprocated and I was too blind to see the signs?
<u>41. Are you a good liar?</u>
Nope. People actually think I'm lying more often than I lie... so.... :/
<u>42. Are you a good judge of character?</u>
I'm.. honestly not sure what this one means? like, am I able to judge what kind of character a person has after barely meeting them or smth? if so, I'm terrible at it
<u>44. Do you have a strong accent?</u>
in german? nope. in english? hmm hard to judge since I rarely hear myself speak. I think the stuff I do know how to pronounce is mostly okay but since I learned it through reading I'm simply unsure of a lot of pronunciations. 'also'.... I can not for the life of me pronouns that word no matter how many times I hear it... it's kinda become a quirk after some classmates pointed it out to me and I'm incredibly aware how terrible I say the word but.... just can't get rid of it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
<u>45. What is your favorite accent?</u>
I.. actually really love the way my best friend talks? 👉👈 they're french btw. just... typical me for struggling to understand them though, already terrible at it in german too...
<u>46. What is your personality type?</u>
honestly, I don't think I can answer that. I'm big on self loathing and everything's pretty shitty so, no thanks
<u>50. Left or right handed?</u>
Right handed. but does it even count id I'm bad at doing things with that hand too? lol
<u>52. Favorite food?</u>
hmmmm tough question... not the biggest fan of food in general a lot of the time... probably Züricher Geschnetzeltes
<u>54. Are you a clean or a messy person?</u>
Definitely messy. my allergies did not like this post trying to clean and tidy up more often though. my depression does not like this post either
<u>60. Do you talk to yourself?</u>
sometimes. quite a bit when watching movies or if I mess stuff up
<u>61. Do you sing to yourself?</u>
barely. got a lot of bad experiences with that so i keep my singing to a minimum. my shower is a great listener though
<u>62. Are you a good singer?</u>
I was in a choir for a few years when I went to 'middle school' and I had like one solo part once but other than that I can't really say because I barely ever sing in front of people
<u>66. Do you like long or shor hair?</u>
this question is currently my absolute nemesis.. I've got suuuper duper long hair and have had it ever since elementary school and I used to be super happy with it and sometimes I still am happy with it but other days, depending on where I'm at genderwise, I absolutely hate it and I just want to take the closest scissors and cut it all off... currently haven't had the guts to look for new hair styles though... but in other people? or women more specifically? I love long hair 🥺
<u>71. What makes you nervous?</u>
Or the shorter question: what doesn't make me nervous... I'd say pretty much everything has got the potential to make me nervous. I'm an overthinker, anxiety is a big thing for me and ptsd makes me scared of almost everything. so.. yeah... sucks to be me sometimes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
<u>72. Are you scared of the dark?</u>
Yes, very
<u>73. Do you correct people when they make mistakes?</u>
I try not to but sadly I sometimes do, even if it's not my place to. I really don't like that part and hope I'll be able to learn not to sometime
<u>74. Are you ticklish?</u>
Yes and I hate it 😭
<u>86. What are you allergic to?</u>
again, easier question: what am I not allergic to... it's... a lot... like, really a lot. with the test on the skin of my arm I reacted to every single substance and the more thorough blood test lead to much of the same result. the absolute worst are birch trees (pitty, love those), then the usual pollen of pretty much every tree or flower, all animals with fur or feathers, dust and... yeah list goes on and on, you get the picture... :/
<u>87. Do you keep a journal?</u>
no.. have tried to multiple times in the past but never made it more than a week... too depressing to write and read... the therapist at the rehab clinic is currently forcing me to try a positivity diary for the millionths time, can't even get that done each day even though I'm doing it on my phone and get notifications to do it each evening...
<u>88. What do your parents do?</u>
making my life hell lol.. okay on a serious note, my father was a car electrician, he's retired by now, my mother is a housewife, she used to work different jobs before her first kid, later on she took care of my grandmother who was suffering from dementia, got some money and retirement points for that too.
<u>89. Do you like your age?</u>
I-... I don't know? it's weird because I both feel a lot younger and a lot older than I am rn....
<u>90. What makes you angry?</u>
another tough question... I actually have anger issues in that way that I'm barely capable of feeling anger... used to be worse but I already worked a lot on it in therapy so there's at least some there now... in the past I simply started to cry and felt overwhelmed by sadness whenever I was supposed to feel anger... so I can't tell very well what makes me angry because I first have to realize that I'm feeling anger or more like should be feeling it....
<u>91. Do you like your own name?</u>
Not really, no, but I guess I finally figured out some reasons why.. I've recently started going by a bit of a different name too but only my closest friends know so far and I'm not sure if I'll be using it irl at all..
<u>96. How did you get your name?</u>
I'm still trying to get my mother to admit that she named me after this song but she keeps denying it.. she's a fan of this band so it would have fit.. but she keeps saying she just liked the name, no long thought process behind it..
my chosen name is a bit of a different story. an ex friend I got to know through yt gave me that nickname almost 10 years ago after I complained that you can't make a shorter nickname out of my birthname and it's also the name of s character I like, especially his voice, and... idk it just feels more gender neutral and I simply feel comfortable with it. it just fit.
<u>100. Color of your room?</u>
same as question 5: Purple 🥰 or... well half the walls are purple, the other half is white
phew... can't believe I made it through all of these....
in case people haven't noticed yet, I'm currently kinda getting back into tumblr? I think I've already stayed a lot longer than any times I tried getting back before. it mostly started because we've got super bad wifi at the clinc I'm at rn and reddit takes up waaayy too much mobile data and... idk, I guess I just missed the vibe of tumblr
I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stick around but we'll see

wish I coulda taken you up on your sour dough offer, but I am many hundreds of miles away! Do you have any tips for starting your own from scratch?
I don't specifically, as I have never done it. My sister gave me some of her starter when she was here visiting, and she got hers from some Mennonites she met while traveling, and so on back to who knows when. But it's supposed to be pretty easy, it just takes a little while to build up its strength. My knowledge of the process is no better than googling, but I believe it helps to use some whole grains, and organic if you can get it. Maximize the potential to have good organisms already on there - though if white flour from Walmart is all you've got, use that.
Once you get it going, white flour is always easier to work with. I find I can use about 30% wheat flour without the dough getting too much more difficult, but if you're a beginning bread baker my advice is always to start with white bread and work back towards whole wheat as you get better at it. I think this applies the same to sourdough as to breads made with commercial yeast.
Oh! My other piece of advice about keeping a sourdough starter is to not keep very much of it most of the time. (You build up more over a few days before you want to bake.) When you feed it, you end up with three times as much each day. You can discard some (and save it for other baking purposes), but to about going through tons of flour all the time, I keep the "working amount" at just a couple of tablespoons. This made me nervous at first, as it seemed so vulnerable, so I keep an extra cup or so of my starter in the freezer as a backup. You can also put your active starter in the fridge to pause it if you need a break, it'll just take a few days' feeding to get it back to normal once you take it out.
Ok, I went on a bit, especially since I didn't have much of an answer to the actual question! 😅 Oh well, who doesn't like to talk about the things they're interested in? It'll probably be useful to somebody.

Copper is an important mineral which should be a part of a healthy diet. It allows the iron to function in your body, thus preventing anemia. Copper acts as an antioxidant by protecting against free radicals. It also helps keep your bones, blood vessels and lungs healthy. You can get copper in legumes, cereal, whole grains, fish and liver.
A helpful avenue to nutrition is the concept of not depriving yourself of the foods you love, but switch them with more nutritious versions of the same dish. It is important to know the ingredients and nutritional content of the foods you eat. This will enable you to make healthy choices. The job of doing this has become easier these days, since many restaurants are offering nutritional information about their menus.
Suppose you are deciding whether to eat meat or not. There are two types of considerations. One is whether meat is "clean" food. Is it raised on a "factory farm" under toxic conditions? Is it loaded with hormones, nitrites and nitrates? If so, it is not a healthy food. The other consideration is ethical; this is a more complicated and individual decision.
Make sure you don't try to force food on your child. If your child says they're not hungry, don't try to force them to have a meal or a snack. Likewise, you don't want to try and force or bribe your child into eating certain foods. All this will do it create anxiety and problems.
When you go grocery shopping, be sure to make a list ahead of time and try setting a time limit for your shopping. Replace your syrup with pureed fruit. Fill up your blender with any fruit that is in season or that you happen to get a good deal on at the supermarket. Blemishes don't matter so much because they won't be seen anyway. Instead of using syrup to top off your pancakes, French toast and waffles, make a healthier choice!
Whenever it is available, choose whole grain bread over white bread. You can use whole grain bread for homemade stuffing, dinner rolls, and bread for sandwiches. Whole grain bread is healthier than white bread. You can also try to use wild rice in place of white rice. White rice is as unhealthy for you as whole bread is.
Grilling, baking, broiling and roasting are the healthiest methods for preparing meat. Use cooking spray instead of butter when cooking your food. When you cook beef, make sure to strain it and rinse with hot water. This technique will remove excess fat.
As you grow older, it can be more of a challenge to maintain good nutrition on a daily basis, so it is important to keep your appetite stimulated with fresh ideas. Try a new spice, read a best selling cookbook, or just wander among the colorful produce at the local farmers market to jump start new interest in eating healthy.
If you find it hard to make  nutritious meals because of the time it takes to make them at the end of a long day, try taking one day a week, to cook and prepare lots of dishes that can be stored in the freezer. Then each night, you only need to take one out and heat it up to have a healthy, homemade meal.
Balance your  Nano-ease reviews daily diet against your body's composition. If you use a body fat scale, you can see what percentage of your weight is fat, muscle, and water. For optimum health, you want to keep a low body fat percentage. If yours is high, reduce the amount of fat in your diet. If your muscle mass percentage is high, consider increasing the amount of protein in your diet, to feed that muscle.
Tumblr media
Be careful to only eat when you're hungry. Many people have a tendency to eat as a way of relieving boredom or stress or as a comfort in depression. Find other activities to fill these urges and only eat when you are legitimately hungry to help yourself stay healthy.
While the Atkins diet seems to leave a few things out in order to maintain a balanced nutritious diet, it is imperative to note that one thing it did bring to many people's attention is limiting your bad carbohydrate intake. The more we watch our sugars and carbs, the healthier we are.

Rice Flour Market will reach US$ 1,003.1 Million at 4.4% CAGR by 2025
The global rice flour market is expected to experience steady growth in coming years, according to a Transparency Market Research (TMR) report. Given the low entrance obstacles due to less early investment, several businesses operate on the rice flour market.

The Old World Diet
Want to stop your constant fatigue, brain fog, feeling of being bloated? Want to start waking up early, jumping out of bed? Want to have more energy than you remember ever having? This diet can do that for you.
Growing up in France, food on the table used to always come well prepared - peeled, cooked until very soft, prepared at home. Many dishes were following traditional recipes that had been perfected over centuries. Since globalization had not quite happened yet, fruits and veggies were locally grown and only appeared when in season - and even then I wasn’t that big on them, I was nuts about nuts. Grass-fed red meat was consumed no more than once a week, and chicken was a delicacy, reserved for special occasions, freshly killed from the local farm. A pet peeve I developed was snack packages being left open - see, they would go stale within a couple days. No human ate corn really, it was known to be animals food. I can’t remember any exposure to soy, except in my teenage years when I started enjoying Asian food. And above all fresh baguette, pasta and other white wheat derivatives were the basis of our energy.
Since I was quite the rebel and had a tendency to question absolutely everything, especially when it came from my parents, I was very suspicious of the French countryside food traditions. For me a lot of that food selection and meticulous preparing was akin to old wives’ tales. Moving to the US in 2003, then in my early twenties, was a pivotal moment for my diet. I started following all these pseudo-health advices, eating a lot more varied fruits, vegetables and legumes. For the first time they came to me with skin on, partly cooked, sometimes raw, because see otherwise “you lose all the vitamins.” Any fruit could be obtained all year round, though it seemed quite tasteless. Meats were on the menu every day, especially chicken which was the cheap every day option.
Fast forward about 15 years and I had developed many debilitating health issues: massive fatigue and brain fog, blank memory, blurry vision, constant constipation. My brain felt just like a piece of plastic. I would find myself just sitting in my car in a daze. I would sometimes go a full week without going number two (it’s quite a terrible feeling). Most of the time I couldn’t gather any energy to exercise, feeling just knocked out. This made me doubt everything, even my mind - maybe I was just utterly depressed and it created all my health issues? But I realized over time that certain food didn’t make me feel good, although it was so hard to pinpoint which ones. I was supposed to be eating healthy food, following the nutrition advices of many well crafted science-backed blog posts. I had tried gluten free and other arbitrary subtraction diets for months at a time but nothing seemed to feel good past the first couple weeks of positive placebo effect.
Then one day I decided to try something: to forget about what is said to be healthy, and instead to go back to my childhood diet. Exit many fruits and all the obscure grains, legumes and veggies I never heard of before age 20. Shoot for high quality meats, and less often. Satisfy that craving for bread and pastries. Well almost immediately I regained energy. Within a few weeks I was feeling my normal self again, with most symptoms gone. Within a few months, my sharpness and energy reached unprecedented levels - my brain was like overclocked, I could visualize decades-gone events sharply by memory, and my high levels of energy felt almost scary.
This was not the happy ending quite yet. Since I did not really understand what was truly bad for me yet, I then went through many relapses for another 2-3 years. Often times I was pressured by others to eat “healthy”, or I would convince myself that maybe I wasn’t sensitive to some food anymore. Maybe I was just dealing with a lot of stress of early parenthood and could not quite make the food choices I wanted. But finally it came together in 2019 when I put together my experiences with the teachings from the Plan Paradox book. Although the book has its flaws and shoots in too many directions, the main teaching is that plants don’t just give food away to us for free - they absolutely defend themselves with the largest chemical arsenal known to mankind! It makes so much sense, and is why animals need to have a very specialized diet to be able to handle a narrow set of food - and why it can take them hours or days to properly digest things. But somehow humans are now believing that they can eat anything, any time, and keep on with our crazy active lifestyles. Coming up with my new diet, I thought a good description would be “Old World Diet” for bringing me back to what Europeans refined over centuries.
Tumblr media
Whole grain food, or how to kill you GI
Principles and rules
What are some principles of a good diet?
Your body and mind should feel good at most times. You should start feeling better right away, there is no “die off” period during which “some dying bugs release chemicals” (the die off period is the most common excuse for bad diets).
Your weight should stay same or reduce, even though you are eating until full satisfaction.
Your GI should not hurt, feel bloated or constipated in any way. Regular daily bowel movements, typically in the morning.
The ideas of the diet can fit in a blog post, not a 700 page book.
Here are the main rules of the diet:
Stick to refined foods as much as possible. Refined doesn’t mean that you should go for chemicals - it means that the food was prepared in the “most evolved way” to make it the easiest to digest - shelled, peeled, deseeded, cooked until soft, etc.
Stay away from anything too sweet, especially fructose, which tricks your body into eating a lot of it. Many fruits are evolved to make you fat.
Stay away from anything known to be poisonous, or which may not be ripe for consumption. This seems obvious, but apparently not, look at all the potatoes.
What (bad stuff) you don’t eat is more important than what (good stuff) you eat. Stop harming yourself.
Supplements and vitamins are great. They are the way to bring back what was lost in processing - without the poisons.
You eat what the things you eat, ate.
The food list
With this in mind, the Old World Diet:
Main grains like wheat and rice are fine, but only in most refined form like white flour and white rice. Baguettes and other breading, white pasta is all good. Prefer bakery items that have risen by yeast (break up gluten) and are vitamin enriched. But stay away from whole grains! This includes most of corn based products, like corn flakes and most breakfast cereals. Also no to oats and other whole cereals found in most energy bars.
No legumes: anything soybean / soy based is off. Same for most bean and pea families. They are some surprise entries in this category, like peanuts and cashews (not nuts) which must be avoided.
Real nuts (shelled and peeled) are your friend. Best are pistachios, hazelnuts, and pecans. Almonds are fine but prefer peeled or as a flour.
Reduce meat consumption and shoot for highest quality like grass-fed beef and pasture raised chicken.
Fish and seafood should be your main protein, as long as wild caught to avoid corn feeding.
Milk should be A2 casein (coming from southern european cows). There are brands that promote A2 (like the A2 brand). But really, truly, just stay away from milk altogether if you can. It’s got enough calcium to build a cow, along with an overdose of vitamin D that increases its absorption. Hypercalcemia is a very debilitating condition. On the other hand, butter has little casein so is fine, but prefer yellow-colored European style butter.
Limit fruit consumption to only local, organic and very ripe fruit. Rule of thumb: it should smell very good. Still many fruit have high doses of fructose and are the surest way to become fat. Avocados are fruit, and although they don’t have the usual sugar, they personally make me feel really bad.
No nightshades! Potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant are off the menu. Maybe once in a while if peeled, deseeded, ripe and well cooked. Tomato paste may be ok.
Having a bit of regular sugar or maple syrup is fine, since they both have 50% or less fructose ratio. In general just avoid sugar and ban any fructose rich food (like honey).
For alcohol, the best is some clean white wine with lower sugars, like Sauvignon Blanc. Some red wine feels ok too, but it varies quite a bit based on skin content and amount of aging. Many beers seem to too much of the original lectins (the bad proteins attacking your gut) and are not aged long enough, so in doubt go for very clear Belgium-style ones. Overall the harder alcohols like whisky seem to be much easier to digest.
Overall it is close to the Plant Paradox diet, but with notable differences:
White wheat flour (with gluten) and white rice are fine really. Enjoy these delicious breads and pasta. That’s where you can draw most of your energy, and digesting them seem really easy once all of the gut-attacking substances are removed. Take the ones enriched with iron / thiamine / etc.
Avocados are not fine. Overall double check that the food is not banned in the FODMAP list.
White wine or champagne seems to go better than red wine, even with the need for sulfites.
Tumblr media
A2 milk, so easy to digest. But really just ditch the milk.
Tumblr media
Great: traditional white bread, enriched with vitamins
Tumblr media
Easy dinner: sardines on a brioche bun, with white wine
Trusting our history rather than pseudo-science
Fairly simple diet isn’t it? Personally I have been feeling amazing and lost quite a bit of weight after just a few weeks on it. GI is working like clockwork. This diet just brings you back to the most evolved food humanity was using before the health craze shifted us off track. What we are seeing really with all these bad “healthy” diets, is that modern science and medicine have become self-fulfilling. They are somehow telling us what healthy foods are (which they are not, besides for animals with specialized digestion that have plenty of time to digest them), which in turn make us sick in ways that are impossible for your body to fix (mostly auto-immune diseases, so your body IS the attacker) and finally we are given medications to fix ourselves (but they are just about reducing the inflammation and pain really). It’s time to stop this vicious pseudo-scientific cycle. Think about it - humanity mostly evolved by preparing their food better than animals, starting with the discovery of fire for cooking, which gave them their huge advantage over animals. It is time to enjoy the benefits of humanity’s experience and live a pain-free, energy-filled life.

What Is a Typical French Breakfast like – and Why? Alysa Salzberg  June 26, 2020
“French breakfast”: The phrase might conjure up an Instagram-worthy image of a croissant on a pristine white plate, an espresso in an equally pristine mug beside it.
Instagram isn’t reality, but this image actually isn’t too far from the truth.
A typical French breakfast is light, sweet, and fairly simple. Let’s find out why, and what the French really eat for the first meal of the day.
Contents
1  In France, breakfast is the least important meal of the day
2  If there are croissants, they aren’t always fresh
3   The coffee isn’t always freshly ground
4   The typical French breakfast checklist
5  Some realistic views of a typical French breakfast
In France, breakfast is the least important meal of the day
Many cultures, including mine, American, raise children with the belief that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Our parents tell us this, TV tells us this, doctors tell us this, and so on. It makes sense: breakfast is when you “break” the “fast” after a night’s sleep. It’s the meal that will get you through a busy morning until lunchtime. It should be filling, right?
So then, why is French breakfast so light? Essentially, it comes down to this: lunch is the most important meal of the day for the French. Even serious corporate businesses often look the other way if employees take more than an hour at lunch.
For the French, lunch is that big meal that’s supposed to get you through the day. A late-afternoon snack is perfectly acceptable for kids – there’s even an official name for it, le goûter. But in my experience, at least, for most people in France, it’s considered more shocking for an adult to have a snack than a cigarette. So, make sure your lunch is filling. Having a light breakfast helps with that.
If you’re having or serving a typical French breakfast, there are generally no salty foods. Instead, think a light pastry, toast with butter or jam, or cereal. I say “or” because most people only choose one of these things, not a smorgasbord combination.
French people are advised to eat un produit laitier (dairy product) like milk or yogurt (cheese is completely unheard-of at breakfast in France) and some fruit at breakfast, as well, but they don’t always follow the rules.
The lack of interest in breakfast in France can be problematic. According to this recent news segment, 1 in 5 French children never eat breakfast. Sometimes this is due to lack of time or not understanding the importance of the meal, and occasionally it’s also for economic reasons (although, fortunately, this is not extremely common in France, where there are an excellent welfare system, food banks, and other aids for less fortunate people). The report hits home: This year, my son’s school started serving a collation (small meal to tide you over) of different fruits when the students get to class.
If there are croissants, they aren’t always fresh
One way your Instagram vision of a typical French breakfast probably isn’t accurate is that, sadly enough, most French people don’t eat a fresh croissant every morning.
If they did, it would mean having to get dressed (no one in France goes out in their pajamas or sloppy sweats) and heading to the bakery, which may be far away if you don’t live in a city or the center of a town or village. Since the French don’t generally eat “on the go”, you couldn’t just enjoy your croissant on your way to work or while standing on the corner. And they don’t do the Italian thing of standing at a counter in the bakery, either. So, you’d probably have to come back home or wait till you get to work to eat it (depending on your office culture).
So, most French people who want a croissant for breakfast – or a baguette, or anything else you’d find in a boulangerie – either eat something they bought the night before, or have une pâtisserie industrielle (mass-produced, prepackaged pastry).
These certainly aren’t fresh or healthy as what you find in a boulangerie, but most of them still taste pretty good, at least. My personal favorites are Pasquier brand briochettes (little brioches). This commercial makes me chuckle – some kids enjoy a breakfast of Pasquier pâtisseries industrielles, which hurts and disappoints their boulanger father, who unexpectedly shows up.
Some French people might use their toaster (un grille-pain) to toast slices of baguette or other types of bread from the boulangerie – or, more commonly, prepackaged sliced bread. They then spread butter (du beurre) and/or jam (de la confiture) (of which there is a huge range of flavors in France), or Nutella on it. This typical French breakfast fare is called une tartine.
Other French people – including my French husband and our half-French son, prefer to eschew bread altogether. Instead, they eat cookies (des biscuits/des gâteaux).
Sometimes, my son has cereal (des céréales), which has become increasingly popular for breakfast in France, especially for kids.
Interestingly, the French generally don’t like for things to be extremely sugary, but just about any kind of kid-oriented cereal you’ll find here (as well as many for adults) are very, very sweet. I hate sweet cereal and have only found two regular (not marketed as healthy or affecting the bowels in any way) kinds that aren’t covered in sugar and artificial flavoring: Rice Crispies and Corn Flakes (yes globalization is everywhere, even when it comes to cereal).  Though I don’t like sugary cereal, I love the jingle for Miel Pops.
Cereal may be a popular French breakfast food, but it’s not without its critics. This documentary’s opening scenes show a typical French breakfast and how it’s been transformed (in the documentary team’s opinion, for the worse) by the introduction of cereal. It’s understandable that anyone would rail against mass-produced, artificially colored and sweetened foods, but at the same time, the documentary does point out why cereal has gained ground in France: it’s easier to serve and prepare than, say, a tartine made with non-industrial bread.
The coffee isn’t always freshly ground
That charming little espresso you pictured when you thought of the typical French breakfast is also pretty accurate.
French adults usually drink some kind of coffee for breakfast. However, many of them prefer café au lait, which they often drink in bowls, rather than mugs.
Bowls of coffee tend to be an at-home thing. I’ve been to a few cafes or restaurants that offer them, but most of the time, coffee in a café or restaurant is served in a small mug. This can be off-putting to people from cultures where coffee comes in big portions. So, many cafes, especially in more touristy places, offer something called a café américain (American coffee). This is coffee served the typical American way – less strong, and in a large mug.  As its name suggests, it’s not a typical part of French breakfast.
Ground coffee isn’t necessarily part of a typical French breakfast, either. While many French people do drink this, there’s also instant coffee, as well as Keurig machine capsules.
What do French people drink for breakfast, besides coffee?
Although it’s very common, not everyone drinks coffee for breakfast in France, of course.
In the north of France especially, many people drink chicory (la chicorée), a coffee substitute with a distinct taste that comes from a plant common to France. Although people in many cultures have drunk chicory throughout history, in France it was popularized during World War II rationing and food shortages. It’s considered somewhat old-fashioned and unfashionable, but you’ll still find it, especially the most popular brand, Ricoré (a chicory and coffee blend), in just about any French supermarket.
Other French people  – especially ones who are watching their health or weight – might prefer tea (le thé). This might mean a common tea from a brand like Lipton, or an organic, herbal tea, with homeopathic qualities (promoting things like calm, energy, weight loss, etc.).
Kids and some adults will often drink milk (du lait) or orange juice (du jus d’orange).
Hot chocolate (du chocolat chaud) or chocolate milk (du lait chocolaté – more commonly referred to as du Nesquick, for the most common brand of chocolate powder mix for kids) are other fairly common breakfast drinks.
The typical French breakfast checklist
So, if you wanted to have a typical French breakfast, on your table there’d be:
des céréales (breakfast cereal)
du pain (bread)
frais (fresh)
d’hier (day-old)
industriel (mass-produced and prepackaged)
en tranches (sliced)
des pâtisseries (pastries)
de la boulangerie (from the bakery)
industrielles (mass-produced and prepackaged)
des biscuits/gâteaux  (cookies)
aux céréales (cookies made with a mixture of different grains but also often something sweet (pieces of (dried) fruit, chocolate, etc., considered to be a healthy energy source for breakfast) NOTE: This is just one option; there are lots of other choices, including quite unhealthy ones!
Pour faire une tartine ou des tartines (For making toast with a spread):
de la confiture (jam)
du beurre (butter)
du Nutella
À boire (To drink):
du café (coffee)
au lait (with milk)
noir (black)
en capsule/en dosette (in a coffee pod)
filtre (filtered coffee)
moulu (ground coffee)
(Every morning at breakfast, my husband drinks a cafe au lait in a bowl and eats a piece of bread with butter. My son eats cereal and drinks an orange juice. Sometimes, I go to the bakery at the bottom of our street to get us croissants. But most of the time I eat a prepackaged pastry and drink an orange juice.)
Some realistic views of a typical French breakfast
Although that Instagram image of a French breakfast isn’t completely false, to get a more realistic glimpse of where, how, and what the average French person eats for breakfast, there’s a better source: breakfast food commercials.
Here are three that give a good general idea of what a typical French breakfast in a typical French household looks like:
1. A commercial for Prince-brand breakfast cookies.
2. This clever commercial for La Française des Jeux, the French national lottery, features a lottery winner sending a personal message to his ex. I love the fact that, despite having won the lottery, he’s still eating a typical French breakfast. No lavish spread, no expensive food or pastries – just a few more croissants than usual.
3. This Ricoré ad is a relatable reminder that lots of French people say, Je ne suis pas du matin. (I’m not a morning person.).
Now that you know all about what makes up a typical French breakfast, does it sound better than the kind of breakfast you usually eat? What French breakfast food would you most like to try?

Demand for Gluten-Free Food to Fuel Rice Flour Market | (2019 – 2027)
The global rice flour market is expected to experience steady growth in coming years, according to a Transparency Market Research (TMR) report. Given the low entrance obstacles due to less early investment, several businesses operate on the rice flour market.
Vendors in the global rice flour market are benefitted from the emergence and increasing awareness of gluten-free food products. Due to the extensive use of traditional rice flour in bakery and processed food items, the standard segment will dominate the market. Due to increased consumer preference and increased consumer inclination towards organic products, organic segments will, however, develop at a greater CAGR during the forecast period. Consumers are increasingly aware of the advantages of organic products, which are supposed to lead to the development of the organic sector in the marketplace.
A study by Transparency Market Research world-wide on the rice flour market finds that the forecast period from 2017 to 2025 is steadily rising to 4.4 percent CAGR. The market value is anticipated to rise in this speed, from USD 712,9 million in 2017 to $1003.1 million by 2025-end.
The dominance of both value and quantity is expected to be in ASia Pacific. By the end of 2025, rice flour is anticipated to increase as staple food on the market in the region as well. In addition, New Zealand and Australia are also anticipated to see remarkable development on their markets, aside from the Oriental countries in the Asia Pacific, known to eat rice.
In 2016, hospitalizations for coeliac illness rose more than 600 percent from 1998 to 2013, according to DDW (Digestive Disease Week). The increased preference of rice flour over wheat flour is increased globally. Wheat and gluten sensitivity instances The growers are also accelerating the demand for rice flour as well as other gluten-free flours by applying white rice flour to a broad spectrum of flour based products as a gluten-free ingredient. With an increasing consumer base, baked and snack foods have become more tractable since the latest past, with enhanced, healthier, easier to cook and ready-to-eat choices for food to fit their busier lifestyle. This is expected to create immense demand in the global rice flour market in the coming years.
The volatility of grains prices due to climate change is one of the main problems for the development of the worldwide rice flour industry. Climate irregularity and seasonal changes have an important effect on plants, which influence crop yields in many areas adversely, ultimately leading to input and price differences in production. Furthermore the volatility in crop prices is also due to fluctuating energy, chemicals and fertilizer expenses.
For Sample Report:
https://www.transparencymarketresearch.com/sample/sample.php?flag=S&rep_id=22856
Organic rice flour obtained from organic rice cultivated in accordance with organic farming laws and instructions and cultivated without any pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, chemicals or other noxious substances. In recent years there has been considerable worldwide growth in demand for organic flours such as organic wheat flour, organic rice flour and organic maize flour.  Increased consumer awareness of organic products and powerful public support for developing natural and nutritionally rich products are main factors driving demand for organic products on the world market. The demand for organic rice flour for bread, cookies, processed food, sweets, meats and sauces and other organic products is high.
The study presented here is based on a report by Transparency Market Research (TMR) titled, “Rice Flour Market (Source – White Rice, Brown Rice; Type – Long Grain, Medium and Short Grain, Pre-gelatinized; Origin – Organic, Conventional; Application – Bakery and Confectionary, Breakfast Solutions, and Baby Food; Sales Channel – Direct Sales and Indirect Sales) – Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends, and Forecast 2017–2025.”

It can be really hard to lose weight while you live within a lot of unhealthy food. You have to understand that changes are necessary in order to lose weight. This article will teach you through the necessary changes.
A great way to shed weight is to eat egg yolks and only eating the yolk. The yolk contains healthy properties but shouldn’t be incorporated into your diet. Egg whites are an awesome source of good protein.
Try to decrease the quantity of caffeine you take in. Research indicates that caffeine may lower the rate at which you burn its stores of fat more slowly.
TIP! People who are focusing on burning fat instead of building muscle should focus heavily on cardiovascular exercise. Cardio exercise concentrates on elevating your heart rate for extended periods of time; this burns more fat than the stop-and-start efforts you get from resistance training.
This will help you motivated when it comes to reaching your weight loss goals.
Finding a workout partner will assist you in remaining committed to your routine.
Aim to set your weight loss goal at about one pound each week. Losing in excess of a pound each week is actually not good for you. Losing weight in a fast way could endanger your health and there is also a higher chance you will gain it right back.
TIP! If you’ve had to give up mashed potatoes for the sake of your diet, try subbing in cauliflower instead. The recipe is quite simple.
Find a friend with whom you can exercise with. This will allow your workout more enjoyable. The two of you can provide encouragement to each other while having great conversation.
Make sure that your kids sleep if you are trying to help them lose weight. A child should get around eight hours each night. Tell your children how sleep and the importance of sleep.
One of the best ways to lose weight is to simply stay active. Try not sitting at all for the rest of the day.
TIP! For some people, hypnosis has proven itself to be a useful way to lose weight. You may be skeptical, but hypnotism can make lifestyle changes a whole lot easier for some people.
Use a wall calendar if you are looking to diet. Don’t just mark down holidays and meetings, plan your exercise routines as well. This will help motivate you do what you’re supposed to do.
A great way to get some exercise while accomplishing a necessary task is to clean your house daily. You can lose fat through caloric burning via cleaning your home enthusiastically.
You should get the majority of your daily calories from breakfast and lunch.
TIP! You may veer away from your diet from time to time. Don’t worry about it too much.
Ask for your dressing on the side if you order salad in a restaurant. You consume less dressing than would be added by the server. You will be glad you made this small change when you start to lose weight.
Keep a bag of healthy snacks with you. This will allow you want a snack. This helps you have a snack to take with you.
The simplest way to ensure your diet program will be much easier if you plan your meals ahead. Plan out your day with five or six small meals, and pack up your food to bring with you.
TIP! To lose weight, you need to add whole grains into your diet. You can research whole grains on your own, but you may also want to consult a dietitian about the best grains to incorporate into your meal plan.
Sugary Drinks
Drinking at least eight glasses of water each day is an excellent tool to help you reach your weight loss goals. Drinking the proper amount of water keeps you from filling your thirst with sugary drinks like soda. Sugary drinks can add a great deal of useless calories to your weight loss efforts.
You do not lose any weight long-term by skipping meals. This will only slow your metabolism and cause you may end up gaining weight in the process.
TIP! Weight loss is largely a matter of math. 3,500 calories equal about one pound.
You can learn a new life skill and burn off calories by joining a dance class. You can check with your Parks and Recreation buildings.
An overweight child is at serious risk of remaining overweight adult. Parents generally don’t want their children. The best time to educate them on healthy eating is when they are young. Teach a child how to read labels on food. You can even want to let them help plan meals for the family. They will end up thanking you when they are much older!
Eating a diet that’s healthy is crucial if you want to work on weight loss. You must have lots of veggies and fruit so your body functions at its best.Cook the fruits and veggies or enjoy them as is.
TIP! Alcohol in excess is not something you want to have as part of your diet if you wish to shed weight. Alcoholic drinks are high in calories, and a diet drink or water is much better for you.
You should find healthy replacement options for the bad foods that you love that are not good for you. You can easily replace noodles, bread and rice that are healthy. You need to have the dedication to find alternatives if you wish to succeed at weight loss.
Once you realize you have become overweight due to yourself, you can begin to work on forgiving yourself for your past lack of control. Only after this admission will it be possible to move confidently ahead.
Eat whole wheat noodles if you choose to eat pasta.Whole wheat pasta is a much healthier and will fill you up more quickly than eating pasta made with white flour. Pasta should not be a major part of your diet, and you should try to avoid rich sauces.
TIP! Take a breather halfway through each meal. When you eat too quickly, your brain does not tell your stomach that it is full until you have already overeaten.
Most folks start with having a goal so they have something to aspire to. While a goal is important, you never want to set a goal that becomes unattainable, you may be very disappointed when you do not reach them. You are likely to fail with an unrealistic goal.
Find someone to confide in when you’re feeling blue. You will come across both ups and downs, and it’s great to have someone to talk to about it.
Consume more fruits that are low in order to reach your dieting goals. Fruits like grapes tend to have lots of calories, bananas and apples have minimal calories.
TIP! If you’re on a diet, eat a big meal before going to a party to make sure you aren’t tempted to consume some of the delicious but unhealthy foods that will likely be available to you. This will help you to stay full during the party so that you are not tempted by the snacks or cake that is usually served.
If you’re wanting to change what you’re doing to make this article work for you, you’re going to start to lose weight. You are in charge of your weight loss. You must take control of your life and weight to make it better.
