Coffins or other funerary works should be as cheap and simple as possible, for the person is dead and spending effort and time on the funeral is a waste of resources that could be spent on the living.

Pettyness, wrath and jealousy are worthless, you're better off removing yourself from the situation completely and finding something that brings you joy.

A lot of things actually. With clarity of the mind and seclusion from Marik, he has started to understand that he wants to be separate and different. He has grown less violent - or needy for violence, because it isn't his go to solution for everything anymore. He has found topics that are actually interested in - almost like hobbies. And most importantly, he sees no merit in the destruction of the world anymore.

He is very personal. In contrary to Marik, he doesn't just want people around him, he absolutely doesn't trust people. They more or less make him feel like he can't trust anybody. He has nothing against friendships or acquaintances... but he doesn't want anybody to follow him. And little to no people know about his darker life, because he simply doesn't want to talk about it.

In his head, nobody needs to protect him, because he doesn't view himself as a person. And let's be honest here... no human really could protect him.

Umbramancy is a kind of magic I would count into arts of nature. While dependent on light, shadow is something that also is deeply embedded into every physical being.

In fact he thrives in nature, he actually kind of adores it. The fact that it is everywhere and that people simply don't appreciate it make him beyond livid. He connects to it in a way that he doesn't automatically do towards humans. It makes so much sense for him to love the sunlight and worship the sun, because without it shadow couldn't exist. While he firmly refuses to take a believe in any kind anymore, it is just embedded into him to enjoy the sun and light it produces.
