But what people overlook is why women gravitate toward her. She’s the fantasy of a woman refusing to conform to social expectations and living to the fullest. She wears sparkles and dyes her hair fun colors, she beats up guys who harass her, she does whatever she wants and acts however she feels like without worrying over potential consequences. A lot of the time in pop culture, women who act like this, who delight in breaking our patriarchal society’s rules for them, get punished by the narrative, but Harley doesn’t.
