A little animation I made of Dream and Nightmare for fun, it's pretty short and simple but not bad for my second go at animation I think ^^

Quick explanation for the song and a gif version under the cut

So when I was first dipping my toes into utmv stuff like a year ago, I made a slideshow for my sister with a bunch of au Sanses, let her guess what kinda vibe she thought they had and then gave her a list of names/ aus to see if she could figure out who was who (she did surprisingly well and I'm proud of her).

Well, when I first showed her pictures of Dream her immediate reaction was "this guy looks like he's from zelda" and it's just always stuck with me. Somewhere along the way I started headcanoning Dream playing some kind of instrument when they were kids and when I heard the pan flute version of zelda's lullaby everything kind of fell into place.

So here they are, having a little moment of peace finally, brothers together again c:

i've seen lots of 'the death of future donnie' comics, most recently ofc being from @somerandomdudelmao (i went back and forth abt tagging but then decided i would, because this is directly their fault, /pos) and then, of course, all the fan content that was made in response to said comic... and i love seeing so many people make so much awesome work! but it's also really fucking sad.

so often in the real world, there are no goodbyes, no dying in the arms of a loved one, no heroic sacrifices, there's just... death. people just die and it sucks. especially because in real life there's also no cool storyboarder assuring you that there's gonna be a happy ending and you'll see them again. and so it's like... then what?

i dunno. i was just sad about it for a while, and i wasn't really sure what to do with that, but i guess this is my answer. sometimes you don't get to say goodbye or hold them when they leave you, and you dunno if you'll get to see them again. but you can still have the mark they left on the world and hang onto that. because no matter what, once upon a time, they were there, and you remember. other people probably do, too.

ohhhhh i love him, i love him so much. the way he has treated Kouhei like a normal person from the moment he met him, the way he has stood up for him, the way he's constantly trying to do things to make Kouhei's life better, the way he encourages Kouhei to advocate for himself, the way he's thinking of him and being considerate without simpering, the way he's constantly willing to learn and pivot when Kouhei gives him new information.

like there's no hesitation here- he thought yelling Kouhei's name multiple times, even stretching it out to its full four syllables (Ko-u-he-i) would be enough to catch his attention, but when Kouhei tells him he doesn't hear sounds behind him, Taichi doesn't dwell on it or make excuses or unnecessary justifications for his mistake, he doesn't downplay it or Kouhei's reaction, he just accepts what Kouhei tells him, adjusts, and corrects his plan for next time he needs to get Kouhei's attention.

i'm loving this show so much already and these two darlings and the way it's handling this story and it's just so good. so good.

OG SSR R2: the room itself is aight, but it is unfortunately a near copy of the story H scene. Ahhh, death by comparison. This one gets shrugged to the side simply because i like more things about its twin.

Crimson Phantom R2: yaku is not having a good time, y'all. he is not in the right headspace and his evident suffering is a boner killer. if i were ranking based on character development and lore, this one would rank higher (thank you, surprise tragic stories about yakumo's childhood), but. he's kinda fighting a losing battle against his self-hatred so can eiden give him that hug pls

OH!! and no lie-- his voice unsettled me here. i know he's playing big into the roleplay thing but that Uncharacteristic Vocal Behaviour mixed with Big Sad spiralling is uhhhhhhh . so where's that Eiden hug??????

OG SSR R5: i unlocked this waaay late so it had to (unfairly) compete against newer rooms that I unlocked before it.

it's similar to when I played FF/X-2 before trying FF/VII (original PS version)?! i wish i had played the older one when it first released. that way, i would have appreciated it properly? BUT!! because i played out of order, i was spoilt with modern graphics and improvements that made the old game impossible to finish. I was too warped by then...

and that's what happened with this room. although i liked the concept + their dialogue, the art was too off-model for me to fully engage. i kept fixating on the anatomy or eiden's face. sigh... it was one of the earliest rooms so of course the art's improved since then!! but i was unlucky and watched it too late :( i could not enjoy its full splendour :(

Prompt #3: Hero x Villain

“Friendly face”

“Oh let me get that for you” they let out an innocent chipper picking up the magazine Hero had dropped while passing by.

Hero paused, eyes widened almost dumbfounded. The other was slightly puzzled by the look of the hero. They could sense that the other felt like they had seen a ghost just by how pale they were.

Hero blinked for a while but snapped themselves back to reality. “Sorry…” they muttered lowly, their head jerking to the side in sheer awkwardness.

Unfamiliarity had washed the hero when the young figure, smiled. It wasn’t a crooked smile that symbolizes the madness of evil, it wasn’t the smile of an individual so lost in megalomania — No.

It was a genuine smile. A smile that could brighten even the darkest of days, whitening teeth that shined under sunlight, a smile of kindness.

Hero cursed in their mind when butterflies had eroded their heart making it swell.

“It’s alright. Just watch where you go next time. These days people aren’t so, welcoming, when you bumped into them” the figure laughed. It felt uncanny to not hear it drip from vileness.

The individual had looked at their watch before looking back to the hero with a soften gaze.

“Anyways, I better get going. My family is waiting for me at the station. Ciao”

The figure began to walk so bubbly, disappearing at a sea of the busy crowd who also passed by the Hero standing awestruck.

The Hero blinked for a couple of second, trying to process if what they had saw was actually real.

No… it couldn’t be right?

Few years prior from this day that citizen will become a bane of terror to this city, causing mayhem, destroying lives, terrorizing innocents.

That couldn’t be, their Villain, right?
