I JUST started Wandee Goodday. My pitch: the main love interests are doctors and fighters! Now, they could spring "some of them are college kids" into the plot at some point. Since I am barely into it. But I'm THRILLED this is a BL about ppl with jobs and if I had known it wasnt another "first love" college fluff story I would've jumped to watch it earlier. Im just more into love stories about adults who may have dated before and may have side story life issues related to the post school life. Its just my personal taste.

Also Dee is into a doctor for 8 years. My heart. 1 poor poor dude's heart. 2 with the way doctor flirts i would THINK doctor DOES like Dee, and maybe Dee is just putting himself in the friendzone himself out of fear of risking dating and the loss that can come if it doesnt work out. That OR doctor crush guy genuinely has some reason he doesnt want to risk dating a guy, or really is the flirtiest "friend" ever and poor Dee is gonna be heart hurting soon.

Super early unlikely prediction but like. Drakes character is asexual (and im fucking thrilled), going out on a huge limb but what if crush doctor is too and thats why he never truly asked out Dee (afraid dee wanted different things than him in a relationship), making it something doctor and drakes charavter can either relate to about later or maybe even find theyd like to date if they feel compatible. However, crush doctor is Pod so i suspect theyd probably use him as like a player, more likely. Id like the othet route tho. (And im probqbly way off with my guess).

I like Yak so far. I like everyone so far. Very solid start. Its a GMMtv show, but the vibe feels more like Idol Factor's shows (in a good way). Like idol factory shows tend to be comfortable with queerness in a way that feels like theres queer people overlooking writing/directing decisions to a degree. In gmmtv shows, while theres some queer voices shaping rhe shows, it sometimes feels like the top of the studio has influence on toning down or sanitizing certain things (however the last gmmtv show i watched was in a pre Only Friends era, and i do think since Not Me and Bad Buddy that gmmtv came a long way from the chasteness of 2gether and some of their older stuff).

Its more like i dunno.... its not even a gmmtv thing specifically so much as, i like THIS particular shows WAY of handling a slice of life adult romance comedy? There's a part of how its presented that makes it feel like how regular people's lives feel. Theyre all Actor hot, but they can make expressions or say lines that feel a bit Uncool or Ordinary rather than Super-Suave Perfect at all times. It makes everyone feel more likeable as realistic, and the comedy just that bit easier to slide into. I cant describe it well. Something just feels endearingly genuine about the show. Which makes any tropes used or romantic shots feel welcoming as like "viewing reality through a romantic perspective" rather than particularly formulaic point A now point B

i have not posted on here in a while. idk various things have happened. but heres the most recent stuff.

this is sorta fresh (literally 2 days ago) but im mostly over it i think? i made a hinge account and briefly talked to this girl and i liked talking to her but i think i just dont know how to rizz someone up, or maybe ik and i dont have the courage to do it so i gotta play nice girl from the start. and i think our second phone call i was just kinda lacking in energy and i wasn’t texting her too often either. but at the end of it she was like lets just be friends going forward.

i havent really had any experiences before, like real ones where i was the one initiating everything, so it hurt, kinda like getting rejected for a job interview. i was like ig im just not outgoing or funny or charming enough but damn we talked like twice on the phone, we never even met up, that quick huh.

and the thing that sucks even harder. is that we had a mutual friend, j, who was her BESTIE for middle school and almost all of highschool. (i had a crush on this chick btw but never told her and i kinda stopped talking to her in senior year). and j did the same fucking thing like she decided she didnt wanna talk to people she knew before highschool anymore and basically just slowly cut s out of her life. and s was so upset abt it she told me abt it a lot

When it comes to rejecting someone usually I would focus on someone's Moon, Mars and Mercury mostly just because it indicates us how they manage to express their feelings.

Fire signs (Aries/Leo/Sagittarius) would be very straightforward, they do struggle a lot when it comes to expressing themselves because it sounds better in their heads. So they tend to hurt people (unintentionally) because they don't know how to say it.

Earth signs (Taurus/Virgo/Capricorn) are also very direct but they're very careful with words. If they ever say something that makes you feel bad, believe me... they meant for it to hurt otherwise they wouldn't have said it lol at the end of the day, it is what it is and if they don't like you, they don't but overall they don't ever say too much.

Water signs (Cancer/Scorpio/Pisces) are ruled by emotions. The least thing they would want to do is make someone feel bad so they could end up lying... or there's just lots of sugar coatting. But they could feel so bad afterwards that they'd probably start liking the person they rejected lol

Air signs (Gemini/Libra/Aquarius) are also too nice. They're used to people liking them and they like that lol so they'd probably never actually get to 'reject' someone, unless they really have to, and even then it wouldn't sound like a rejection. They do tend to friendzone people tho.

Gency/GenjixMercy: Cuuuute. Love it. Here for it. Probably my second favorite ship for her besides Moicy; they work so well together.

Pharmacy: I think the childhood friends/acquaintances to lovers is cute and, like, lesbians, but you know, it's alright? Kinda fun? Not huge fan overall but nothing against it. Solid ship tho in the like, "yeah, I see where you got that" way.

'I’m coming, I’m coming!’ You replied, walking faster after her. You ajusted your earpods and your coat firmer around you, not that it did any good. Why did you decide to wear a dress on such a cold night? Probably for the same reason you had accepted to go out on the first place. That reason was currently standing just a few yards away from you, waiting for you girls outside the station and looking down at his phone: Tom William Perfect Hiddleston. Blonde hair, dreamy eyes and a smile that could melt glaciers. Always kind, always funny, always dangerously charming. 'Mary,’ you cut her off 'I’ve seen him with women, being all smooth talk and debonair. He just wasn’t like that with me. After the pub, he walked me home and when we got to the door, he hugged me goodnight. He hugged me’

You sighed deeply, and blinked hard trying to get rid of the sting in your eyes.

'Maybe he got nervous…’ But she sounded unsure. You looked at her, trying to will her to understand. You wished for the thousand time you were like her, guys just seemed to gravitate towards her wherever she went. And why wouldn’t they? She was beautiful, funny and moved with confidence, always knew what to wear or how to do her make up. You weren’t like that at all.

She fell silent after that and eventually, you pulled your phone out to turn your music on again, but found you had a new text from Seb.

It was all it said. You turned around looking for him and finally spotted him a couple seats farther back, with Tasha firmly on his lap, seemingly completely at home there.

He bit his own lip and raised his eyes to meet yours through the crowded carriage and as his expression softened you were finally sure that your friends had been right all along. Because he was looking at you like you were everything that existed in that moment. There was no carriage, no crowd, not anything. It was just the two of you.

S1: rating the guys

8. VMiles/VJasper: what an absolute, massive, stratospheric pain in the ass this guy is. As soon as you couple up with him, he’s all smug and a massive d**k. But I gotta say that I’m never mad at him for saying we should crack on with other people, I couldn’t agree more but MC acts all hurt and causes a scene. I just want the option to be chill about it until the next recoupling. Anyways, his morals and values are questionable, in Miles’ case his tattoos are hideous (I really like his design tho) and his night wear to. However, when he’s coupled up with Allegra they’re the perfect antagonist couple and the Villa is less fun without them around. I love their interactions with MC and the shades they throw at each other.

7. RMiles/RJasper: he’s a decent guy that doesn’t hold a grudge because you got him dumped. He’s nothing special tho, he’s there, doing his thing until he has to leave the Villa again. 

6. Mason: not a fan. I tried to like him but I don’t vibe with him. He thinks he’s the shit, can’t make up his mind about who he wants to be with and the second he couples up with you he cheats on you. Like seriously, are you kidding me now? His overconfident, cocky personality is a huge turn off for me and I’m pretty sure that, while he’s talking to you, he’s looking at his reflection in your eyes. If he’s not the one involved in Cherrygate, he’s a tad better and I feel really bad that no one acknowledges that he was also cheated on. 

5. Reese: he’s ok I guess, but I’m not a fan. He loves the drama and keeps on stirring the pot, revealing something he has seen before his arrival and then pretending it just slipped. I’m glad he was able to keep Erikah interested long enough for them to finish the game together and eventually get engaged (although I think IRL they would never get that far). The wrestling part was cute.

4. Levi: as for Mason, my feelings for him vary depending on his involvement in Cherrygate. Overall, he’s a good looking guy that probably spends too much time on the roof terrace having Olympic swimming pool deep thoughts (such a bad joke hahaha 🙃😑). He’s sweet and takes his time to get to know you before committing and he’s always honest about his feelings for Jen. If you’re coupled up with Mason during Cherrygate, he’ll confront Mason which is nice, it shows that he truly cares. If he’s involved in Cherrygate my feelings are the same as for Mason. On a side note, I don’t get why he's so obsessed with always reminding us that he’s a water polo player and went to the Olympics, like I get it, but after the 100th time you’re talking about your swimming skills I might lose it, you know? Is there nothing else interesting about him? What does he even like apart from water polo? A mystery 🕵🏽‍♂️ 

3. Rohan: I really like him, he’s cool, unproblematic, can do handstands and almost got us in a menage-à-trois with Jake. Fusebox really did him dirty by using him as the rebound guy for most of the girls, he’s way more interesting than the main LIs and I wish he was a romantic option. He’s considerate and really values your opinion. Besides he’s part of the rap crew which makes him even cooler and I can totally see us being friends IRL. 

2. Jake: he’s tall, dark, beautiful as a Greek God, (Jen’s words not mine but I highly agree) and he gives me massive BDE (big dick energy for those wondering or that didn’t go on a date with Jakub 😬). Jake is my ideal man (with a spritz of Lucas and a side of Gary please!), he’s mature, level headed, supporting, caring and sweet. He’s not interested in drama, he’s the mediator/father figure of the group and he can cook, like head chef’s level of deliciousness, if that’s alone is not a good reason to romance him I don’t know what to tell you. My only complaint is that I wish he wasn’t so shy, why even go to Love Island if you’re not putting yourself out there, well that and mostly I’m still salty that he friendzoned me (🔪) and I was robbed of amazing moments with him for most of my time there. 

1. Tim: the MVP of the season (and probably of all litg seasons), our OG friend, our ride or die. There is so much to appreciate about Tim, the banters, the laughter, the human brush skills *wink wink* but most importantly his unconditional support. The blatant Anders rivalry when it comes to any of Hawke’s romances.

I will mainly be talking about a Hawke who romanced Fenris, because that is literally the only guy I ever romance. Therefore, I have witnessed the behaviour Ander exhibits from a Fenhawke point of view, I do not mean to ‘demean’ Isabela or Merill but I probably won’t mention them a lot. Other factors are that I am female, therefore I utilise Marian Hawke and I am a mage who is ‘friends’ with everyone. No rivalmance or rivalry with any of the characters. Just putting that out there because I don’t want someone popping into the comments saying ‘BUT THIS HAPPENS WHEN-” Yeah, I know. I have played the game THOROUGHLY and I have watched many videos depicting the choices I did not make.

Anyway, THE BLATANT RIVALRY WITH ANDERS IF YOU DO NOT ROMANCE HIM. It is...amazing. I am not hating on Anders, I absolutely adore Anders. And...I have always believed that he has feelings for your Hawke, especially if you flirt with him. 

The thing with Dragon Age is that it does a good job of not making you feelbad if you flirt with multiple characters nor does it mean that you are locked into a romance upon flirting once with a person. It also does not make you feel bad if you kinda romance a companion but change your mind, you can break it off with a companion and that’s it. The Companion will act like nothing ever happened, as though you have and always were just friends.

Dragon Age 2...does something a bit different. Anders is someone who brings up the romance, and has very clear emotions towards them.

Your companions in all of the games obviously comment on whoever you romanced, but Dragon Age 2 makes A MUCH bigger deal about it than any of the other games. Particularly, with Anders. I truly think that regardless of your choices, Anders has feelings for Hawke. 

My points are:

I am of course, going to bring up the fact that Anders is one of three characters that comment on your romance. Varric, Isabela and Anders comment on who you romance, The thing is Isabela jokes about it, Varric jokes while showing some real concern (You know Varric will make anyone who hurts Hawke fucking hurt 10x more) but Anders gets...a bit bitchy lmao. As you do his companion mission when looking for the ingriedients to ‘seperate him from Justice’ Anders will stop and ask “Are you sure?” about whoever you are romancing. But not in the manner that Varric innocently inquired, Anders inquires like Hawke is dating a 90 year old. “Are you sure?” like hes asking Hawke “Have you lost your mind?!” He purposely stops the crew from going any further just to bring this topic up whereas Varric and Isabela were just chilling at the Hanged Man waiting for you to come to them. 

Then, he goes on to insult whoever you are romancing; even when they are right there. Anders truly has no shame, and often whatever he brings up about the other companion it’s him being hypocritical. Especially with Merill. For Fenris he says, “Surely you want someone more open minded?” And my first thought upon hearing this was ‘are you alluding to yourself?’ because that’s...kind of what his tone implies, he is suggesting they deserve someone better and since he’s the only one who has a problem with whoever Hawke romances it’s safe to assume he is referring to himself. (That’s quite bold of you Anders)

Another thing, after a Bitter Pill and sleeping with Fenris you can actually still flirt with the other companions, and you can engage in Ander’s kiss scene. It’s.... good. I think it adds a lot more conflict to the companion dynamic, especially between Fenris, Hawke and Anders. 

 Anders will go the Amell Estate at night. Here he brings up your romance again (It can either be Isabela or Fenris I’m not sure about Merill) and again, he insults them. Now, he calls Fenris a ‘dog’ and my Hawke always gets defensive and asks that he leaves, saying they cannot do this. Anders will appear hurt (I can’t blame him) and visibly angry. It’s...interesting that Bioware lets you get so far with Anders. You can have that hot make out session (Even tho the noises make me cringe) and be on the verge with sleeping with him. You even get the chance to reject Anders twice before you can initiate the sex scene, once straight off the bat and the next one after he makes his comment on whoever you previously slept with. To which the option goes “I still love him/her” it’s just interesting that Anders gets that treatment, Idk if the other companins get the same treatment, it’s more like you friendzone the other characters rather than directly say ‘I am in love with another’. while the prompt button says ‘I am still in love with her/him” Hawke doesn’t actually say that, they say “Don’t call him that! I’m sorry Anders, we can’t do this!” but...the prompt button is conveying the fact that you can choose to have your Hawke realise their mistake.

“I can’t imagine what Hawke sees in you,” He says to Fenris “I always knew she had some sense,” He says relieved when he realised Fenris and Hawke are currently ‘not together’. (And the fact that Fenris very clearly is wearing Hawke’s token and their family emblem probably fuels Anders need to badger Fenris. As it’s clear Fenris still loves Hawke despite breaking it off, so it gives Anders some fuel I suppose but that’s just a headcanon)

He also acts very proud if you romanced Fenris and then did sleep with Anders. “You were a fool to leave hawke” and he’ll say something about being glad he brought Hawke to him. He just gloats about it. (can we just, relish the fact that people call this ‘Fenris and Anders fighting over Hawke’ but in reality it’s just Fenris being guilty about leaving Hawke and it’s just Anders harping on Fenris, like it’s Anders who’s doing the fighting Fenris is just kind of accepting it? It’s still such good banter, I am a slut for conflict what can I say ;) )

Other factors are kind of miniscule, little tid bits that have connotations to Anders caring about Hawke. It could be seen as just him being a great friend, because he is a good friend, but...I also can see this as Anders just doing it because not only does he care about Hawke but he cares about them so much it is leaning towards a crush. Despite moaning and complaining about the Deep Roads he will go there with Hawke, despite saying how he will NEVER go to Wardens, and despite actively hiding from them if Carver or Bethany are sick he will bring them to the wardens even tho he is being hunted. Because they are Hawke’s family. “You are the one bright light in Kirkwall,” Is also just...a very romantic thing to say and I’m pretty sure he says it regardless if you flirted with him or not.

Anyway, I don’t know if it was intentional. But all of this (to me anyway) not just alludes but confirms that Anders has feelings for Hawke regardless of your choices. I like it, it really adds something to the story in my opinion and to his character. It’s fun to imagine what kind of arguments, conflicts, jealousy and pining went on in the many years that DA2 takes places. It adds more emphasis to how heartbreaking Ander’s end in the story is, with him betraying and lying to Hawke to keep them safe, but ended up making Hawke a damn fugitive in the process. Not his goal I assume, but the reality nevertheless. He makes the woman/man he loved a fugitive, and whoever they fell in love with is also forced to go on the run with them. 

And then in Inquisition, the way Hawke talks about Anders if they did not approve of the Chantry Explosion. Romanced they will say “When someone betrays you like that, it takes a long time to get past it. I don’t know if we ever have” It’s...such good dialogue, but applying that to a Hawke who did not romance Anders...those feelings must still apply just the dfference being Hawke probabaly has no idea where he is. Maybe Hawke prefers it that way. I like to think Hawke can never forgive Anders, perhaps a bit of disdain for their old friend. But, while a part of them prefers not knowing where he is, they deep down hope that he is okay. It’s sad to think that perhaps Anders and Hawke never did reconcile, that they said little to each other before everyone went their seperate ways as the betrayal was still warm (And like Fenris would even let Anders talk to Hawke after all of that lmao)

So, my point is that I think Anders is a hopeless romantic, not-so-secretely pining for Hawke and that it is rather tragic if you don’t romance him. It’s more angsty if you don’t, and that’s why I purposely kiss Anders but call it off because I love Fenris, it adds more to your story and I love that it’s an option that can have consequences. Even tho regardless if you kissed Anders he acts really jealous, if you do kiss him his behaviour makes more sense.

For me I sometimes dislike his narcissism. I know, I know, it’s who Zen is and everything, and it’s a sort of coping mechanism, but it still throws me off a bit! I also dislike how he judges people because of his brother, like Jumin. I mean Jumin is actually a sweetheart, and it stresses me when he’s actually trying to do something good and Zen goes and becomes mad at him for it.

He may also overwork himsel. Not as bad as Jaehee, but still. Also he smokes and drinks beer, and those are not healthy habits, I mean you do you, but it still isn’t healthy and dats no good 😔

Yoosung:

His bad trait is procrastinating lmao

But I can relate. And I know it’s a way for him to cop with Rika’s “death”.

I also dislike how he blames everything on V. Like don’t get me wrong, V is partially at fault, and he didn’t tell the RFA which he should’ve when everything went to shit. But still, when Yoosung blames V and says that there’s something fishy going on, I can’t help but feel a bit mad, since this will only make V blame himself more, and not learn to actually ask for help. Like I said, V did also do things that aren’t ok, but if someone is having some problems you can’t just go and try to turn everyone against them.

Also Yoosung is a yandere and that’s not good lmaoooo

Jaehee’s bad trait would be overworking herself and wanting to fit in with society. She forces herself to do things she doesn’t enjoy, that she doesn’t like, to try and mold herself into a perfect sculpture she things everyone wants her to be. And it hurts, because forcing yourself to do something you don’t enjoy...it sucks so much.

Jaehee should learn to take more care of herself, and like in the end of her route, do something that she enjoys doing!

He doesn’t think feelings matter. Whenever he starts feeling something he buries it, only making it worse. That’s also why I feel like Jumin has trouble with other people’s feelings as well. Since he doesn’t give much thought about them, I’m sure he doesn’t really think about others.

I know he is a caring friend, and that he would do anything for his close ones, but I mean with overworking Jaehee, or just telling Seven in his route to stop feeling. That’s one of his biggest flaws.

Sirens screamed over the city lights as the reporter picked up the pace. "And right here on the scene we have — oh!" Her voice picked up in pitch, excitement making her tremble. "The Burning Duo's on the way, everyone! Freshly debuted just earlier this spring, straight out of the No.1 hero's agency — look sharp! It's Temperance and Detonation!"

Right on cue, the blasts of the explosive hero heralded the arrival of the noisier, and more hotheaded of the two. The villain was suddenly on the ground. Any other partners-in-crime still walking paled, and not just from fear and the sweet, toxic smell of nitroglycerin — it was the icy snap of cold, freezing their skin to any surfaces they happened to touch.

"Annnd there we have it! All cleaned up, all in one swoop! And a very good job to our heroes!" The reporter scuttled her way over to where the two young heroes were binding up the petty criminals, ready to hand over to the police as soon as they caught up. “Temperance! Detonation!” She thrust the mic into their faces. “Mind telling us the secret behind your smooth teamwork? Our viewers would be very interested to know how you two work behind the scenes!” One eyed her coolly, looking absent-minded. The other had not even bothered to look over.

“Hm… we’re good friends,” Todoroki Shouto finally contributed. A waft of cool air drifted about his hair.

A loud ‘Tchk!’ sounded from behind them. Bakugou Katsuki finally deigned to look over sourly. “…We’re barely friends.” Any UA classmate of theirs may have gaped at the magnitude of Bakugou admitting such a thing. Todoroki glanced over at him, almost bewildered.

A beat passed where they looked at each other and the reporter awkwardly stood by, still holding up the mic, afraid to move it.

Todoroki was the first to move. “We work together Mondays to Saturdays, train together, and spend almost any free time together, I’d say that makes us very good friends.” He finally appeared to take notice of the mic mostly pointing at him and gingerly took it from the reporter, resigned that they would have to stay there to entertain the media while they waited.

Bakugou made another snappy sound in his throat. “And I’ve told you this before: time doesn’t equal friendship dumbass.” He marched up to Todoroki, snatching the mic from him while aggressively elbowing him away. “Tell this to the public.” He glared into the black eye of the camera. “We worked freakin’ hard to get here.”

* “I could tell you were trying really hard not to yell there,” Todoroki said, faint amusement glinting in his eyes.

“Shut up.” He was not staring.

“Good job on not blasting press equipment this time,” he continued, ignoring him. Last time, he’d yelled so loud that his decibel level overshot the limit. Present Mic had half-jokingly tweeted him about stealing his spotlight.

Katsuki turned away from him, walking ahead into their office. Their, their, them. Everywhere they went, they were a unit. Together.

He wanted to spit at the thought of it.

He could tolerate it. It was nothing.

Yet what was this itchy feeling that kept nagging at the back of his head these days?

The PR officer looked up from where she’d been consulting their notes. “There you are. Good job out there.” She got up, receiving a greeting from Todoroki. “I wanted to talk about today. So far the image you two have presented is as capable fighters, but today’s on-scene news have proved the public is hungry for more, especially of the relationship between you two.”

“What’s new,” Katsuki grumbled, tugging off his gauntlets.

She smiled. “Everyone seems to like seeing you two argue. It does give them hope that the two of you may be not just paired heroes.” She coughed diplomatically. “Soulmates.”

“Just come right out and say it,” he groaned. He pointed a finger at the frigid bastard who was carefully considering everything the damn PR was saying. “Bicker with him? Easiest thing in the world. What else have you lot come up with?”

“Nothing much, just act as naturally as you do and try to be actual friends.” She had the gall to wink at him. “Todoroki-kun here is always trying his best to be actual friends with you after all. Wouldn’t hurt to hang out more often, have fun together.”

“That’s not a bad idea,” Todoroki said, thumb on his chin. Was he brightening at the idea? Was that a hint of interest on the non-emotive bastard’s face? Ugh.

“We’ll leave you to it then,” the PR woman waved her file as she dismissed herself.

And then they were alone in the office and Katsuki did not appreciate it, not with the Half-n-half’s attention fully on him like that.

He tugged his mask out of the way, heading to his desk. Todoroki’s gaze was still solely fixated on him. “What.” He twitched, irritated.

Todoroki appeared to shake himself out of whatever fugue he’d fallen into. “I was trying to remember if you’ve ever done anything for fun. Do you?”

Katsuki stared at him. “Sure I do. Whenever I get to be alone.”

Todoroki’s gaze prodded him to say further. “And? That can’t be it?”

He growled, chafing. “Train. Walk. Jog. Parks. Mountains. What else do you want, huh?”

Todoroki’s face loomed out of the right corner of his eye as he came over to stand over Katsuki’s desk. “What about animals?”

Katsuki scrunched his nose in distaste. “What about them?”

“No allergies?” Todoroki kept pressing. He was distractingly close and Katsuki did not appreciate anyone leaning in too far his personal space.

He let Todoroki stay there anyway. There’s something wrong with him.

His pulse is not in the palms of his hands. If he’s sweaty, then maybe that’s why he’s letting the Thermostat venture nearer. He’s useful like that.

“No,” he snaps reluctantly.

He looks up at Todoroki sliding his phone towards him. There’s an image on it, a colourful flyer for… a cat cafe.

“Oh hell no-”

“Shinsou recommended it. So did Sero,” Todoroki says, tone as flat as ever, but there’s that note of question in it.

“I’m not going into a cutesy place like that, all they’ll serve is sweet food.” He says with a tone of finality, slamming down his paperwork for the day.

A beat of silence. But you’re not trying — how about the cats?

Katsuki looks up at the thought, because evidently the Thermostat hasn’t left. And he’s just opened his mouth to say the exact thought that popped into Katsuki’s head.

Oh gods help him, Todoroki is looking at him wih those slightly pleading eyes, that’s the most this emotionally-constipated bastard can manage, but Katsuki is just, suddenly weak.

It’s unbelievable. He’s nothing but stubborn as heck but this is what gets him weak?

“It better have good chow,” he threatens weakly.

Todoroki lights up.

Ugh, all this just to see that light curve to his lips.

“See you, Bakugou.” He says, finally leaving and taking his phone and his damn small smile with him.

Katsuki thinks again to all those times he’d caught himself staring at this too-good-looking-for-his-sanity bastard and locks it all away firmly. No. Just no. They can be friends, he tells himself.

(He’s not hoping what everyone says they must be.)

He could almost swear there had been that ghostly afterthought people swore up and down and all over the internet, that apparently, were the signs. Signs they had started to sync in thought.

Katsuki clenched his fist, where his pulse had been skittering like crazy earlier.

The pen shook in his hand.

Wasn’t he happy it might be him? It’s someone like Todoroki, a pro hero just like him. Someone who’s been by his side since the UA days. Someone who can keep up with him, someone who’s strong, and can give him a good fight anytime.

He could scrounge his head all he liked, but he knew he wouldn’t find the answer.

A laugh fills the air of the dimly lit room. A lightbulb flickers. “Are you for real… they couldn’t be more different from each other!”

Another voice joins in chirpily. It is the nonchalent drawl of a high-school girl eager for gossip. “Right~? They’re exactly like a prince and a beast!”

“Right… the fans are actually comparing them to that lovingly.” A chuckle follows the speaker as he leans his elbow further on the gilded surface of the wood.

A hum. Congratulations, Kacchan. And that Todoroki as well. He has been keeping track of them after all. Hard not to want to document the progress of the first quirk he’d ever studied. Feeling the eyes of others on him, he draws up a piqued eyebrow as well.

"You want to meet them, don't you?" Toga's leaning in now with that curious gleam in feline eyes, wide grin not too far from slitting her entire face. It is the look of someone who has scented blood.

"Ehhh," He plays along coquettishly, draws out the syllable. "I couldn't! They'd kick me out of the building, not like you who can sneak in anytime!"

"You totally could!" Toga refutes, sitting up. "You're sooooo good at acting after all! Go!"

"Not so much if you can see through me," He demurs with a laugh.

She pouts and drapes herself over the table, head bending to squint at him.

“You’re a liar, Deku-kun.”

Ah, that’s true. “I do my best,” he singsongs. A glance up and down her body. Good, no suction needles anywhere. Though, knowing her, there is at least one hidden blade on her person.

(As much as Toga makes it hard for him to truly sleep soundly at night, she’s still useful.

One of the sharpest blades in his disposal.

He’d be a fool if he couldn’t retain her loyalty. Loyal, loyal Toga, as long as he could keep her entertained, dancing on a blade’s edge from becoming her next victim.)

Toga picks up the topic again, prodding at him. “Don’t we have Manami-chan already through their records? You could totally mess them up anytime.”

This is when Dabi saunters over, light on his feet. He’s probably had enough of their high school girl-type talk. Though, Izuku supposes he is kind of one. A tenseness in his gait though. He can feel the restless energy roiling off him like a caged panther pacing. “Under Endeavour, huh,” he says, his words smouldering with that particular hatred he’s held for the Flame Hero all these years.

Toga sidles up next to him. “Hey, when are we going to kill another hero again, Deku-kun? I’m bored~”

They had been quiet for a while after all.

Dabi’s stare bores through him like the blue flames he manipulates. Yes, yes he knows.

He smiles.

Time to put that plan into action then.

* Shouto sighs a long breath, watching it form white in the night air. It’s been a long day — of patrolling, emergency response, PR response — and he’d finally wrangled Bakugou into going out. For fun. It’s like Bakugou doesn’t know what that concept is, overachiever that he is. Not that Shouto has a much better idea himself, growing up like he had.

He’s looking forward to getting into his apartment. And sinking into a long bath. He’s not going to look at his phone for a good long while.

Shadows crisscross the path before him from lampposts. And then he sees a stutter in the image.

He hears the thud before he feels it. Someone's tripped into him.

“Ah, I’m sorry!” Vibrant green eyes look up at him, panicked. He sees the flash of them in the night and is momentarily sidetracked.

What was that feeling? A thrum, like a line cast into the night.

A flutter of pages. He dropped his files, just coming from behind him. So there was another office worker that had worked till this late at night.

He bends down to help the stooped figure. "It's alright." He picks up a paper and sees the headline on it. "Ah, so you also work here."

"Y-yes!" The young man squeaks, appearing too taken aback to make eye contact with him. "I'm just one of the many paper pushers in there, ahaha. So sorry, ah, thank you," he says meekly upon taking Shouto's handful.

They stand, and Shouto watches with a tad resignation as the young man starts, the glint of recognition in his eyes turning into full panic. “T-todoroki—! Temperance! I’m honoured.” His hands fumble, unsure whether to go for a handshake, and he looks like he’s about to drop his folders again so Shouto reaches in to steady the grip for him.

Their fingers brush against one another’s, and the young man looks fit to faint.

There is a flush on his face that Shouto is convinced only appears on fever patients.

“Are you alright?” He asks, concerned. Freckles dot pale cheeks, and he feels compelled to observe this person further.

“Thank you,” the young man says shyly. A small smile forms as he finally makes eye contact with him. “I’ll be good after a good night’s sleep.”

He looks like he needs it. There are shadows underneath his eyes. “Rest well then.” A tug in his throat. Shouto follows, curious. “Your name?”

“Oh! I’m… Midoriya Izuku.” A blink, and Shouto could have sworn there was an amused look in his eyes just now.

“Then, see you, Midoriya.” Shouto begins to walk again, expecting Midoriya to also be going the same way as him. It is the main road after all.

He does not. He turns back to see Midoriya tip his head at him, smiling genially. The electric light catches the top of his hair, giving it a green shine. “See you soon, Todoroki Shouto.”

He turns on his heel, and melts into the shadows.

* Stark midday. Clocks strike twelve, digital figures switch to 12:00, and then the screens of Tokyo freeze into black. It’s everywhere — live feeds, main TV channels, ads milling by — all superseded by a strange blackness.

Within the metropolis, citizens wonder if it’s a blackout.

All is still for a moment.

But then, a warped voice speaks. A masked face steps out, bowing to the camera. “Greetings, everyone.” Green subtitles scroll underneath.

When they straighten up, only the lower part of their face is visible. It is a bandanna wrapped around their chin, with a feral, toothy grin on it. “We apologise for the rude interruption, but we doubt your current system would let you listen to us without some… drastic measures.” The figure puts up a hand, waving it in the air lightly.

“Let me ask you, citizens… what is justice to you? What is a true hero? Is it what we have now? Where our top heroes are picked based on popularity stats?

We will be revealing our next operation in 24 hours. Stay tuned.”

And with that, the black screen zaps out with a flash, and all broadcasts are back to normal.

What was that? The media ask, shaken.

* Tsukauchi calls them in , grim-faced. "How much do you know of the villain Deku?"

Silence. Todoroki is clearly confused.

It is as if a vice had slammed down in his throat. "Deku?" He hears himself echo, almost hoarse. A name he had not heard in years. A name he had pushed out of his mind, only just able to open a door to childhood memory.  Yes, he'd wondered what'd happened to the nerd at times, especially whenever he passed by the neighbourhood.

(No, it can't be him.

(Not Shitty Deku who dreamed bigger than anyone. Whose dreams would have gotten him killed.)

He'd never once dropped in. Sometimes his mum mentioned bumping into her at some sales or such, and asked him about Deku, but he'd always end up snapping that he had no word.

"Pity, you two used to be such good friends," she'd sigh after she'd boxed his ears. "Inko does look like she's getting... " She hesitated, unsure how to put it. "Tireder."

He's snapped back into the present by Tsukauchi's look of sympathy at him.

"We've recently gotten a source that the real identity of Deku may be Midoriya Izuku. And through investigation it appears you were once well acquainted with him."

"From witness observations, Midoriya does not appear to live with his mother despite his name being registered under the residence. Not for a few years, in fact."

-dabi, gentle and la brava out in wait in an alleyway
