obligatory rant like the one i just had to my parents and my poor gf about how im about to turn 30 but i dunno what to do with myself or my life xx

every day I wish for a Taylor Doesn't Turn Herself In AU simply so she can interact with Accord. I want Taylor "raised by an English professor" Hebert to bond with Accord over ruthless supervillainy for the greater good, the importance of public infrastructure, and respecting good old English grammar.

As if he were doing the GREAT work.

She doesn't say anything, even as Jon speaks his mind and approaches her.

‘ i remember thinking i had you. ’

Tears sting at her eyes and Alicent dips her head, picking her fingers once more. "I had HOPED it was going to be you," she admits, keeping her gaze to the north. Though they are largely IGNORED, there was no one she trusted with her heart.

Not like Jon.

"...we should have run away long ago," she murmurs, shaking her head. "I didn't need a crown, a title...I did not want anything except the LOVE of a good man. I wanted you."

There's no wince of pain as she yanks a sliver of skin from her ring finger, blood droplets forming. She doesn't add the obvious.

And it is too late now.

"...I will never stop loving you, Jon," she breathes out, straightening her figure. Her hands smooth over her flat belly, brown eyes blink back tears.

#random personal stuff #pointless personal story ahead #when I was sixteen we had an ancient computer known derogatorily as Myrtle the Turtle #it was a PAIN doing anything on it #everything took forever #and when you've got a parentally-mandated mere forty-five minutes of internet time a day this is frustrating #I was very annoyed about this one evening #pacing in and out of the computer room ranting to my siblings while waiting for something to load #finally I had had it and sat down hard on the wooden arm of the futon in the main basement room #except I misjudged the location of the arm #and landed on the pointed corner #it hurt. a lot.#stupidity hurt too #we never had it looked at because I guess it was concluded that nothing much could be done about it?#but it hurt for a long time #that was nearly half my life ago #and it STILL comes back periodically to be annoying - namely this week #it's not horrible but it would be nice if the Follies of My Youth could finally determine that I have Learned My Lesson and leave me alone #(I have in fact learned nothing about not getting carried away with angry rants but the pain doesn't need to know that)
