The First King of the Teensies from Rayman, aka Everyone's Disapproving Grandpa from The Tomb of the Ancients. Mainly drew this because I saw someone fave an older picture and I was stricken with a sudden case of "oh I can draw so much better than that".

CHAT NO WAY NEW LORE DROPPED

uhm the first king x reader (platonic!!)

Why do you keep coming back?

Desc: The first king saves you. (Platonic)

You ran through the grave yard of the teensies, grave after grave. The night skin darkened everything around you, making it hard to see where you were going.

Nightmares were chasing you, as you had accidentally distributed their deep slumber. Something something... a stick broke.

Back to the pursuit, the wind blew in your face, making it even harder to see anything. However, you need to keep running, and you pick up your pace.

Abruptly, you fell on your face, the creatures of the night crept up on you. Your eyes shut tightly, as you accept your demise.

You feel hopelessness takes over you, this is the end. Your mind starts to flashback to your best moments, oh how you wish you had the chance to say goodbye to the ones you love.

In spite of your acceptance of death, your eyes open once you hear the sounds of screaming... your gaze lands on the man who defeated the creatures.

The first king, who had dug out his grave.

"Gobsmacked, waddle on, y'a pricks!" He said in his accent, scaring away all the nightmares. He sighed, unimpressed.

"What occurred here?" He turned to you, his dead eyes now having a glint of life.

Your voice cracked as you tried to speak, you were extremely nervous... this was the first king after all.

"I stepped on a twig..."

... "Bloody hell." The blue zombie snapped back, his eyes glowing for a second. Before going back to normal.

Small foot prints followed his steps as he headed back to his grave stone, but he stopped to look at you.

"You shall come back, correct?" He asks, tilting his head.

A smile appears on his face when you say yes.

He can finally rest knowing he has a friend.

Dust: An Elysian Tail but Rayman characters let's go😎

After extensive analysis of both games (five minutes of thought), we decided that most (not all) of the Warmbloods are teensies, the Mudpot folk are Glutes, and most (not all) Moonbloods are nightmares.

Here's the more focused roles I have paired for this AU:

Dust -> Rayman

This makes complete sense. Main character who is good at combat and kind at heart. Also has a lot of abilities in general lol

Fidget -> Murfy

I really don't care for Murphy buuuut I won't deny that he reminds me a lot of Fidget. Same vibes, different execution.

Aharah -> Maybe Ly?? Maybe Polokus???

That's cuz my man is a talking sword. He helps Dust with combat and advice cuz he's cool like that.

"See how lifelike it is?" (Ugly ass murphy plush)

"Oooh! Campfire fuel~"

Ginger -> Goth Teensy

This is a mix of personal hcs and just cuz vibes lol. Both are angsting and have affiliations with the opposing groups in the series. (Goth with the Livid Dead door, Ginger with the Moonbloods).

"And who are you really? The last time I saw a thingamajig was when my brother died!"

Sereth -> The First King

This one was a little more difficult to decide, but I like this choice lol. The First King being a dream and nightmare creature in all technicality that I would imagine has a similar personality to Sereth is fun. Also he's a little scary looking, which works with canon. Also his eyes are glossed over so it looks like the Sereth's glowing eyes.

When I made this decision I felt so smart. They're the same name, same vibes, and the idea that Rayman got his whimsicalness from the Magician and the violent tendencies of Ales makes so much sense to me.

"Only impossible for a creature with a single soul."

"I am Rayman."

Also I get to draw him with the teensy boba eyes, which is a win for me.

I'll probably make more stuff for this cuz I really like this idea. The story will have creative liberties though for character motivation, but that's not too important lol.
