This was my first time performing a choreographed piece with ashmo_fire, and I'm so grateful that we'll have photos to remember the day.

A huge shoutout to fire camp and all the talented fire performers and safeties who came out to make the show as amazing as it was.

God, my favourite thing ever is that when he's younger, at the beginning of S1, Marcus is SUCHHH a brat!

He's this bratty guy who is also a spitfire, he likes talking back, and he always acts like he wants control.

He acts out of line because he knows he can get away with it, he brats and snips words and acts like an all-around ass, but it's bratty. It's so distinct.

But later, when he gets that control he thought he wanted, when he becomes sheriff and then starts dealing with Silco, he gets so exhausted so quickly.

He's rougher, gruffer, more steadfast and sharp in his mannerisms and words, but that brattiness is less than half what it was when he was younger.

In, what was it? Nine years? He went from this brash, loud-mouthed, fiery young adult who wanted control to a salt-n-pepper dilf who has all the power one could want— and yet, he only has that through Grayson dying, and Marcus himself dealing with Silco, pretending to keep the— relative— peace.

I love seeing the differences, because he both changes so damn much, and also doesn't change at all.

Happy Faire Friday!

For today I thought I'd share a closeup look at some of the work that went into my fire top.

In an effort to stay away from flammable materials, I made it out of scrap pieces of leather i had around the shop and fire tested it before use. :)

I wore it for the first time during last year's faire season, and it's been holding up really well since. That being said, I'm always keeping an eye out for fitting pendants to decorate it with.

Next, it's onto the leg covers and possible mask.

some people in this fandom are going to be really disappointed when winds of winter comes out.

you guys. you cannot treat the POV characters as stepping stones for other characters/other POV characters.

the POV characters must have a fitting end according to their character arcs, themes, foreshadowing, etc.

to clarify, the POV characters chapters are about THEM. their storylines are about THEIR journey. you cannot use their hundreds of pages of character development as a brick to build the castle your fav will live in.

this is especially true for the key 5 and for the other younger POV characters. their endings have everything to do with them, they do not revolve around your fav.

us readers out-of-universe reasons for wanting x or y characters deaths does not matter. what actually matters is if you can support your theories with textual evidence from the chapters of the POV character that you want dead.

more info about him below if anyone cares (transphobic and nsfw themes discussed but nothing that explicit)

his full name is Adrián Gustavo Galante (miranda + cerati reference. it's just a coincidence that i happen to have the same name as him). as a kid everyone saw him just as a tomboyish girl who frequented comic stores (including the ones that the eltingville club went) looking for any kind of manga. by how often he encountered bill and the others, they thought adrián wanted to join or something. bill thought he was stalking him, trying to pester him to join the club, trying to act like a boy so he could let him join. it upset bill so much that one day he lashed out at him and since then they became rivals/enemies (one-sided because adrián couldn't care less). bill hated him with his whole guts and started mocking him while adrián didn't give a fuck about him and didn't even care about the club - still, he liked to torment the guy every once in a while for the fun of it. bill complained about him so much that even the club got tired of hearing him talk about adrián and wondered why he even cared about him that much.

even if he didn't talk that much with the others, he'd say that the one he got along the most was jerry. not only did he like video games and role-playing, but he didn't mind his "weirdness". he didn't exchange many words with josh but thought he was okay but kind of annoying. every so often they bonded about their hatred toward bill thought. adrián not being a fan of horror made him not engage much with pete. still, they were on cool terms.

eventually, he moved out and started transitioning in his early 20s. he started working out and going to the gym but his interest in anime and manga never went away no matter how hard he tried to distance himself from it. at first, you'd think he looks intimidating and scary, but he's actually a really soft-spoken, easy-going dude. a gentleman, even. his whole deal is about gentle masculinity; he embodies a healthy form of it. he thinks men can be manly AND sweet. they can be both handsome and pretty, sharp and soft, strong and sensitive, and so on. showing interest in stuff "for girls" doesn't threaten his manliness at all and doesn't make him less of a man.

that's why bill is so hostile to him even as an adult - somehow his behavior toward him getting worse than before. it goes against everything he thinks, after all. how does someone "become" a man? that's ridiculous. adrián was born female and he needed to accept his real self.

adrián originally wanted to talk to him to reminisce about past times when he saw him at a comic store but got grossed out by his attitude, seeing he never grew out and basically turned into a man-child.

one thing led to another and they ended up hate-fucking. bill wants to act as if nothing happened, not wanting to accept how he got in bed with someone like adrián. he keeps treating him as a woman and says he sees him as one, convincing himself that this doesn't make him less straight, using the excuse that adrián still has a pussy, therefore, it isn't gay. despite everything, bill comes back for more. he tries to justify it by telling himself that it's only because of how easy adrián is and how he's a "free hole" to satiate his needs. yet, every time they meet to fuck, bill's vision of adrián as a woman begins to fade, replaced by the undeniable truth: adrián was a man, just like any other, even if he wasn't ready to accept it.

adrián allows this to happen because he likes toying with bill, or at least that's what he tells himself. he enjoys seeing how pathetic and desperate for attention the guy is and doesn't think about this too seriously, even if a part of him seeks something real. still, he knows better than to expect anything from bill.

their relationship is pretty messy and complicated. they are better left apart than being together but they are both self-centered and keep coming back for their own selfish reasons. let's be real - bill is never going to change. there's no "fixing" and that's how evan dorkin portrayed his character to be; an asshole forever and ever. that man doesn't care about anyone else but himself and shows no regrets about what he did to his so-called friends. and that's why i see adrián getting tired of bill and ditching him, finding someone else who would treat him like a proper human being.

now, if somehow bill manages to change his ways (which i doubt), they could both develop feelings for each other even if they try to deny it. it sounds like a good concept to explore tbh while bill struggles with the concept of bisexuality and what being attracted to a transgender person means to him, adrián helps him through it, getting closer and finally becoming partners.

leaving their relationship aside, adrián is actually a pretty nice guy, he just doesn't let shitty people walk over him (aka bill). he works as a barista at a local bar and as stated before, he still likes anime and manga (hxh is his favorite!). he likes doing exercise and taking care of his physical health but i don't consider him a gym bro tbf. he's gentle and even if it doesn't look like it, he's a bit shy. adrián is pretty proud of his body (i would be too) but doesn't like to show off. he lives alone in a cheap apartment but hey, at least it's something. favorite shit: hxh, kurapika, junji ito, the gym, cats, plushies, bl, jojo's bizarre adventure, etc.
