No lyric has hit me in my heart quite like Vessel singing,

"And if you don't think I mean it, then I understand. But I'm still glad you came, so let me see those hands."

Truly no lyrics has audibly taken my breath away like this one. The amazement, pride, bitter-sweetness, and admiration I felt hearing this line filled with Vessel's honest words have affected me to my core. The gratitude and tenderness he is showing to his fans while also setting a firm boundary and sharing his disappointment about "those fans" is astonishing.

Caramel is a song of nauances; of fondness, thankfulness, hope, uncertainty, disappointment and determination. We can see the divide. Let us not push Sleep Token away from the art they love to create and share.

Respect this band as much as they show respect to us.

Ruminating on the significants of burning flags and what they might symbolize in relation to house Veridian. Especially since the last two visuals have clearly been aimed at them.

There’s no doubt that there is some war being fought out in this album. (All the war imagery at the end of the videos, the choosing sides and even the house words “The Cycle Must End” || “The House Must Endure.”) But what makes it even more interesting is given how V is clearly fighting lyrically, not just with us, but with something else and it’s all being referenced in the back and forth, opposites at odds with one another, and so on and so on in the songs.

Also him just literally holding a sword in the promo photos. 🤣🙏🏻

In all seriousness though, and I could be reaching, but could it all potentially mean that House Veridian lost? And that The Feathered Host is the victor?

I thought at the beginning that Caramel was gonna be our first peak into this other side of this thing, but now I’m starting to think with these connections that they could potentially be saving it because it’s gonna be a completely different perspective to this warish undertone that’s being set. And with the clues that just dropped today it would make sense too if the album is split with the first five tracks being Verdian and the last 5 being Host.

What it all means for even in Arcadia, I have no idea yet, but it’s very interesting to think about. It does also 100% solidify (to me at least) that Sundowning, Tomb, and Eden are all past wars that V has fought both physically, lyrically, and mentally. Which I know is pretty apparent, but still awesome to have confirmed since all the songs are interconnected between the different albums.

Okay, hear me out Sleep Token theory. This might just be the caffeine I've had but what if with the houses with the HOUSE VERIDIAN "the house must ENDURE" and THE FEATHERED HOST "The CYCLE must END". What if Vessel and II are talking about the cycle of self-loathing and depression and anxiety that vessel seems suffering from (especially since what has been released of the album so far it seems like the evolution of This Place Will Be Your Tomb which was very self loathing, insecure, depressed yearning vibe) and a lot of us listeners relate to and also suffer from. What if he's saying we must it endure, we must survive, but at some point, you must break that cycle and go beyond that. You have to get better just as he is desperately trying to do, but now, with the consequences of fame while also dealing with mental illness hanging over him. You eventually have to put down the sword and pick up the pen. Even in the promise of paradise, you have put in the work to get better.
