I just watched this movie and it's so good 🤩💯

Finally saw the entirety of The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and here are some things I didn't realize:

Jessica Chastain won the Oscar for this?! That's not a diss, she's great in it, just, where have I been that I didn't know that?

Andrew was in THREE movies in 2021?! (This, Tick, Tick, Boom, and Spider-Man: NWH) Why was my crush not revived then?

Andrew does look somewhat normal in the beginning of this movie, WHEW. 😂

ANYWAY, it's a pretty interesting watch. The Bakkers are largely before my time, and I had no idea Tammy Faye was showing love and compassion to AIDS patients in the '80s as a freaking televangelist! Like, I just thought she was a weirdo with a lot of makeup; the movie does a good job of humanizing her. Jim (and all the conservative male figures) are pretty annoying, but Andrew and Jessica are powerhouses together. Honestly, it was eerie to juxtapose Jim Bakker with Link from Mainstream (the last Andrew movie I watched), because they're basically two sides of the same coin, just Link is using YouTube, and Jim is using "Christian TV," and they both end up seduced by money, power, and excess. AND THE MATCHING LOOKS?! 👀👀👀

I did also laugh out loud at certain points, ngl. Exhibit A:

Overall, not a bad watch, but probably not what you're looking for if you want to swoon over Andrew or root for his character. 😬
