I want stories that make you question who’s the true villain. Stories that make you realize the main character was the true villain all along. I want stories following the villain and their corrupted point of view. THAT. I WANT THAT. Bc that is what I love. That is what gets my brain going. That is what gets me writing MLA essays in the tags.

people shitting on diary of an oxygen thief shows how piss poor that media literacy really is. the narrator isn't supposed to be liked. you're supposed to read these things and see how he deserved what happened, you're supposed to be aware that he's narcissistic and a complete asshole. the book was never meant for sympathy, it was meant to be a look into the mind of a chronic dickhead.

Diary of an Oxygen Thief by Anonymous 4/5 ⭐️

The background of this book alone is enough to interest me. An anonymous author writing a painful story that is candid and personal - nobody knowing whether it’s fiction or an autobiography. It was asking for me to read it. The reviews of this book are all over the place - some loved it and some hated it. I think it’s important to note that this is a story written by somebody who is obviously very narcissistic. He hurts women because he is hurting. And the moment he falls head over heels for a young woman, he perceives himself to be the victim of all the hurts he perpetrated against others. It makes you wonder, did she really do all these terrible things to him or does he hate himself so much he doesn’t believe he deserves happiness? And if she did do all these things, he has no empathy for his victims to acknowledge he’s just getting his own fair share of karma. The writing was sporadic and inconsistent but I considered that part of the story - he wasn’t a writer, he said he was in advertising which adds to the layer of it being an autobiography. True story or not, it’s a first hand insight to one in so much inner pain, that everything outside of them is tainted with that pain. I enjoyed it.
