Big opportunity for angst with those two tbh. Pretty fair to assume M.ephisto’s early game mindset towards humans (and also angels ig) is one taught to him by his parents. Can’t imagine they’d be supportive of the relationship. (Excited to see how they handle this in game when he becomes datable, though I don’t wanna get my hopes up because a part of me worries they will do absolutely nothing with this. Where’s my angst? 🤨)

If M.ephisto had them keep their relationship a secret from everyone…….oughghhg……. Bug would try to be understanding, but would be so bothered, actually. It would feed into their inferiority complex terribly.

A big reason Bug started becoming a sorcerer is because, given the way demons saw (and some still see) humans, they worry that the demons they associate/have pacts with are having their reputations harmed for simply associating with them. So they try really hard to be respectable and powerful to compensate for their humanity. They really want to be someone the demon bros can be proud to have a pact with.

Though, they’re a little hopeful that they’re just paranoid, as the demon bros haven’t done or said anything to suggest they’re ashamed of them in a very long time. (They aren’t ashamed of Bug, but Bug will never know this because they are not willing to be vulnerable and talk about this. They can be pretty closed off about their touchier feelings because they don’t want to give anyone a reason to look down on them. Must appear emotionally strong to compensate for lack of physical strength.)

But if M.ephisto were to confirm their paranoia by keeping their relationship a secret and worrying about his reputation?? Confirming to Bug that they’re not someone to be proud of?? Even though they try so hard to be worthy?? OUGHGHGGHHHTH.

Because how could they fix that? How could they fix being human?
