firm believer that the mechs are associated with the dancing plague somehow. i'm pointing fingers and accusing. either they started it or they heard a vague story about it and went "yeah let's do that" and spread it to other planets and realities. or maybe both, like a time paradoxical thingy. probably both actually. they themselves danced until they died btw bc it's fun. also ashes probably started it and jonny definitely wrote a song about it.

Time Travel Question 47: Early Modernish and Earlier 2 (Reposted. First Version Had Issues
These Questions are the result of suggestions a the previous iteration.
This category may include suggestions made too late to fall into the correct earlier time grouping. Basically, I'd already moved on to human history, but I'd periodically get a pre-homin suggestion, hence the occasional random item waaay out of it's time period, rather than reopen the category.
In some cases a culture lasted a really long time and I grouped them by whether it was likely the later or earlier grouping made the most sense with the information I had. (Invention ofs tend to fall in an earlier grouping if it's still open. Ones that imply height of or just before something tend to get grouped later, but not always. Sometimes I'll split two different things from the same culture into different polls because they involve separate research goals or the like).
Please add new suggestions below if you have them for future consideration. All cultures and time periods welcome.

> wanted to draw pieces for some of my favourite FMNS songs!! im unwell!!!!!
> ID below and in alt text -
[Image Description: Three shaded, traditional pencil drawings of songs by The Forgetmenauts.
Drawing 1: In the top left of the page is an interpretation of "The Dancing Plague." It is a full body drawing of a skeleton, front facing with their head turn left at a 3/4 angle. They are wearing a large, black top hat with a bow on the side, a potato sack cut to fit as a long dress, with a thin black rope tied at the waist, and two necklaces. They are barefoot. They are holding up the dress by the skirt, showing some of their calf bones. There are short movement lines around their elbow, shoulder and skirt, indicating movement from the dance. Beside them is the title "The Dancing Plague," in bold, capital letters.
Drawing 2: In the top right of the page is an interpretation of "Tam Lin." It is of a man and woman, and cuts off at their mid-thighs, The man is front facing, and the woman is at a 3/4 angle to the right . The man is Tam Lin. He is tall, with pale skin and dark, wavy, shoulder-length hair and a short beard. His eyes are unfocused and blurry, with eyebags underneath. He is wearing a loose, collard bed shirt, rolled up to his elbow and trousers. His posture is tired and slightly slouched, arm by his side. The woman is his lover. She is a head shorter than him, with pale skin and long, dark hair half tied in a bun. She is wearing a dress with ruffled, elbow length sleeves, and a shawl over her back, blowing gently in the wind. She is looking into the camera in fear, at the unseen woman who took Tam Lin away from her. She is huddled close to him, clutching his shirt at his chest, staining it slightly with blood from her thorn-pricked hand. Behind them, above Tam Lin's head is the head of a lion, main flowing and baring it's teeth. On his shoulder is a large head of a rose. Beside them is the title "Tam Lin," in bold, capital letters.
Drawing 3: At the bottom of the page is an interpretation of "Jack." It is of Jack, walking along a narrow stone path, angled to face his back. He is wearing a long coat with the hood up, a one-shoulder bag sitting on his left hip, and boots. To his right, a person is clinging to a large tree, one hand on the branch and a foot dangling, the other out of sight behing the bark. They have pale skin with dark, tied up hair and a beard. They are wearing an elbow length button-up, a waist coat, a tipped down fedora and long skirt with boots. On their hip is a mini pouch. They are reaching a hand down for Jack to take, which he tentatively reaches up for. To the right if the path, where the tree is, the ground is covered in flowers. To the left is some plain grass leading to the river and rocks. Beyond them is the rest of the path winding into the distance, with large rock mountains and grass, a single bird flying off. In the middle of the drawing is the title "Jack," in bold, capital letters.

happy dancing plague day !
remember to stand on a wooden platform in the town and ignore the blood oozing from your shoes (they'll make you dance anyway, and you can think of it as the forbidden meaty jam)

I know it was painfully obvious that John getting shot fucked up Sherlock pretty bad in that moment, like the man snapped. And understandably so, I mean he thought his best friend was just shot dead. (Not to mention that if I’m not mistaken this is the first time we’ve heard Sherlock refer to John as his best friend out loud but that is another piece of emotional baggage for another day) But what about after the whole thing?
John is ok he’s not in any danger and Sherlock knows this but do you think he wakes up in a cold sweat some nights because he dreamt that maybe John wasn’t wearing the vest. That his best friend really was taken from him just like that.
I feel like it would become a thing for him that he constantly needs to reassure himself that John is indeed, in fact, alive and well and still here. Maybe when he has those nightmares of John dying he gets up and goes to his room to make sure John is still breathing, or if John is sitting on true couch Sherlock will come over and just sit and put his ear against John’s heart to hear his heart beating, or if he’ll just randomly grab John’s wrist to check his pulse at times. Because even though he can clearly see John belong alive and well, he needs to feel that he’s alive too.
Idk I can’t stop thinking about how drastically his whole demeanor switched in that instant and I just can’t help but think it definetly stuck with him even after the fact.
