Somehow someway the average perverted men found a way to ruin Pinterest of all apps.

Edit: it turns out they’re removing search terms like decora kei and decora fashion and harajuku fashion to solve this problem. I tested it and decora kei will not have any search results on Pinterest. And after more research it seems they blocked most stuff related to jfashion. They also removed Lolita fashion as well. Pinterest has also banned the word girl as well.

Tip Numero 1:

Have a clear description of your character’s personality and fashion sense. I guess this is pretty self-explanatory lol, but it’s very helpful! If you understand enough about how your character acts, you can get a pretty good idea of what type of clothes they’d wear~!

For example, my monster girly Amour and Peacock!

For peacock, I knew I wanted a bubbly cropped street look to match her personality. And adding rips and tears to give that quintessential zombie look added to how explosive her style and optimism can be.

Then we have Amour. She’s….. something alright! As a fallen cherub, I thought it would be cute if she wore a blazer to match the pure nature of where she’s from. But…. She is anything but pure. Despite this, I still gave her a cutesy pastel love core-esqe look, so it can be a bit of a subversion of expectations for her character. The type of person who looks like they wouldn’t hurt a fly, yet then proceeds to smash said fly into the ground with her weapon and keep beating it with a smile on her face even though the fly is far gone past tense- Ooop, got a little distracted there.

Tip Number 2:

What if you’re just character designing on the fly, and don’t have a concrete idea for this character yet? You know what helps? Drumroll please *drumroll*

PINTEREST~!

Now you gotta be careful with Pinterest since it’s notoriously known for taking people’s art and not crediting them. So if you’re using another’s artwork as REFERENCE (we’ll get back to this later) for an outfit, make sure to at least find them and give ‘em a follow. You can even put the artist’s name in the pin’s comment section.

Now back to the Referencing thing. When taking ANY pins from Pinterest, be sure you’re not straight up copying or tracing it, that’s not cool! What you want to do is find specific things that you’d like on your character, and very loosely reference it which means you’re gonna have to use that noggin and be creative~! I believe in you. Using color palettes online can also help spark inspiration

When you get your references, I usually put them in one place, using Milanote, which is an app on the AppStore. (If you can’t use that, just put the references on another canvas in your art program of choice). Here’s an example of one I made for my character Cyan:

Trial and error. Look, you’re not always gonna get the winning design first try. Even to this day, there will be characters I made in middle school that I’ve redesigned 5 or more times to get it right. I mean… look at Peacock’s first designs:

Just don’t be too hard on yourself, character design is fun, but if it gets too frustrating, walk away for a bit and come back with fresh new eyes. You’re not gonna satisfy everyone with your design, but if you can satisfy yourself, that’s what counts~!

so this is how it all began

todoroki comes home to you sitting on the couch, scrolling on your phone

and he moves behind you to rest his head over yours, and he sees you looking at hawaii pictures

todoroki’s like “do you wanna go there?” since you were just staring at that one particular photo

and you’re like “maybe?? i would visit hawaii if i got the chance.”

todoroki’s like.. “i have money, and time so.. do you wanna go to hawaii?”

but you’re like “but.. aren’t you a pro hero? what if something happens?”

“i can take a few days off, and besides— we’re engaged so staying in hawaii for a bit doesn’t sound bad.”

and that’s how it all began

the both of you guys are so hyped for this vacation, well.. most especially you since you wanted to go there

you wanted to split the expenses with him, but he already paid for the nicest hotel </3

todoroki can only watch in amusement and adoration, as you sit there all cute beside him on the plane going there

japan and hawaii are really far from each other so.. the both of you guys take a lot of naps— heating you up with his left side as y’all do so.

people stare at y’all a lot, but most especially shouto because.. hello? who wouldn’t (he doesn’t stare back at them though, his eyes are glued on you.)

shouto has basic english knowledge, so it’s not as good as yours— so he has to rely on you for a bit.

but the actual trip was super enjoyable

he purchased you some cute clothes for you to wear, and he absolutely loves seeing you in summer dresses

the dress compliments your skintone so well, insert todoroki simping

will also probably buy you a cute lil hair clip

lots of pictures taken there. have mercy on his storage bc it’s all jusy burst photos of you

his cheeks go a little red when he sees you in your swim attire— but gosh! look at him in his swim wear, that fine mofo

at the end of the day, y’all head back to the hotel extremely satisfied—

shinsou’s not a big vacation person, so y’all don’t go on vacations a lot

but he feels like he should do something for you, since the crime rate has gone done drastically

and he wants to celebrate with you, but he just doesn’t know what to do yet.

until he sees you looking at bahamas pictures on pinterest, and suddenly— he knows what he wants to do

“do you want to go to the bahamas?” he’ll bring it up when y’all are eating lunch

“hm, i want to! but there’s just no correct time.”

“ah but, the crime rate has gone down by a lot— so i want to celebrate by bringing you there.”

your eyes brighten up, and it seems to be that bringing the bahamas up has made you happy

y’all both plan it out maybe 5 days before, and the both of you split the expenses

i headcanon that once you guys are old enough, you get a cat

so you had to drop off the cat at a friend’s house, because you’d be at hawaii for nearly a week

encourages you to sleep on the plane ride, but this man won’t sleep on the plane at all (you won’t catch him lacking)

he’s a little overwhelmed when he gets there at first, because.. it’s so bright tf

but it’s actually a really relaxing place.

compliments you when he sees you wearing your swim attire. he looks very casual but on the inside, he’s freaking out

he’ll watch you play around in the water from the shade,

Love paparazzi or hate them, they are a huge part of being famous. Lets take a look at some of our favorite candid shots of celebrities in 2021.

How could anyone not love this shot of Maxwell Harper. He was looking very handsome back in his trip from his January 27th trip to Heathrow Airport with Olivia Marie. We still think he can do better, but he was looking happy and healthy. Of course, we don't expect anything less from Maxwell Harper, but in recent months getting a good shot of Maxwell Harper has become increasingly rare. He hasn't often gone out since his attack. The look also seemed comfortable enough for the long flight from LA to London.

Its pretty rare for us to compliment any mens fashion, but Maxwell continues to kill it every time he goes out. The majority of mens taste in clothing is often boring, bland, and straight forward. We'll admit, this isn't the most colorful or exciting outfit, but we've scrolled through thousands of images of other male celebs in nothing but a t-shirt in jeans.

Unfortunately, not everyone can rock a long sleeved crop top. Especially not one with a collar, but Esma Rapport looks immaculate. She was spotted on the 21st of June after disappearing with several days. Everyone was much too focused on the rumors of her making more music to care about her outfit at the time, but since then I've seen hundreds of "dupe" recreations pop up on every fast fashion website, pinterest, and tiktok account out there. At least Esma can say that she was the original.

Even aside from the fashion part of it, we're so excited that Esma might be coming out with some new music. Have you heard the recent releases? Borrrrinngggg. We need something new and exciting to liven up our Spotify accounts.

The 18th of June was a busy day for paparazzi's trying to rush around and get every shot they could between the vast number of celebrities who were out and about that day. Among them was Farrah Prince who was leaving a meeting for what is rumored to be a reality show. While we can argue until we're blue in the face about if reality shows are good, bad, or somewhere in between..I do have a few questions. As

you may know, she's a well known influencer who has worked with big type of brands, so what would a reality show look like? A day in the life of an influencer? And don't they post all of that on their instagram story for fun, anyway? I kid, I kid. I am excited to see what that'll look like and there is no denying that this pap shot of Farrah is great simply because of how she looks.

Its pretty rare for us to get a shot of Essence Woods in anything but a skirt or dress so we particularly love this shot of her heading to some type of meeting in a cute pair of jeans, heels and blouse. Nearly immediately after this look the shoes, from her fashion line, went out of sale within the hour. However, it isn't rare for us to get pap shots of Essence. She's pretty constantly on the move and its usually a rare week that they don't see her at least going back and forth from the fashion studio building or some set. In recent weeks, seeing her has become a little bit more spotty, but we figure we'll see her soon again.

While Essence interacting with paparazzi can be hit or miss - sometimes ignoring and sometimes interacting - she hung outside of her car for a few minutes after her phone call to say hello and answer a few questions. Nothing scandalous, but still.

Not everyone likes the paparazzi's. While that's fine, Kylie Blue seems to go to the extreme to avoid them sometimes. She's often rumored to go to extreme lengths to avoid them getting a shot of her. Papparazzi picked up this hilarious shot of Kylie Blue going to extreme measures to hide them. For some reason, she thinks that them picking up her legs looking like they were dashing to the car is better than them getting a shot of her face. Her security (maybe?) seems to be holding another giant umbrella for either her to use or to hide from paparazzo on the other side of her. This obviously isn't a 'cute' look, but it is one of our favorite pap shots simply because of how funny it is.

Papparazi snagged this photo of Olivia Marie nearly three weeks ago after the latest scandal about her father's claims. If you're out of the loop, Olivia's father claims that she owes him millions of dollars and that he basically started her career. At the time of the scandal, Olivia's team hadn't made any sort of statement about what she thought about her fathers doing. Little has been said about it since the original break, but we'll let you know about any updates. She went out after that despite the article. We have to admit, her look here is pretty cute even if she did seem to be going out just to make a point that she didn't care about what he had to say. Fathers day must have been pretty awkward, huh?

at first glance , nico reads as this aloof , arrogant type that doesn’t like to associate w the common public . always keeping the majority of people at a comfortable distance , nico moves almost exclusively within his own social network , and doesn’t like to deviate from what he knows best .  

not so much pretentious as he is lazy , making an effort to socialize with complete strangers is simply something that nico would never do . hehe ... he’s kind of shy like that .... ♡ though he’d literally never admit it ♡

despite giving the impression that he’s some intimidating and chronically indifferent kind of guy , nico is genuinely a sweet boy — ‏‏‎ one who’s in a constant state of confusion as to why people seem to be so scared of him . it always comes as a shock when close friends of his admit that they thought he absolutely hated their guts when they first met him .

b/c tho he’s p smart , nico is very oblivious at times , and he’s 100% the kind of guy who’ll walk away from a conversation thinking he did a rly rly good job trying to make a friend ... when in reality he prob said four words in the span of thirty minutes smh .

overall , nico’s a private person , especially with what he’s thinking ... and it’s really hard to get a clear read on what’s on his mind . sharing his feelings has never been one of nico’s interests b/c he just genuinely doesn’t think whatever he has to say is rly worth mentioning . so he usually just shuts da fuck up n lets other ppl talk so he can mentally gain the strength to continue socializing .

CHARACTER DISSERTATION.

nico was born on a brisk wintry morning in the fashion district of los angeles ( january 21st , 1997 ) to a family of six .

as the second youngest child , and the only male son to boot , nico grew up with his only inheritance being a generational kind of hunger , one that demanded for more than what his struggling parents could offer

the arts stole nico at an early age ... ushering him into a world of creation and freedom beyond the four bleak walls he daily occupied . from spending lonely summers tucked away in some forgotten corner in the library to practicing on a borrowed violin from dawn to dusk , nico knew that even with nothing at his disposal , there was always something to be made w/ the tools he’d been given  

despite not having the money for private tutors to hone their son’s growing artistic talents , his parents did whatever they could to support his dreams , whether that meant working double shifts back to back or scrounging for loose change underneath the sofa cushions to pay for whatever materials nico needed .

it was in this strange way that nico grew up p spoiled . somehow having nothing while also having absolutely everything at the same time .

very much a family man , the first big purchase nico made once he broke out in hollywood was a house in beverly hills for his parents . now that he’s finally at a place where he can take care of his family , nico makes sure that his parents and sisters want for nothing

while he showers everyone else with generous gifts and obscene amounts of money , nico doesn’t particularly feel comfortable doing the same for himself . he’s a simple man through n through . one who’s content to spend his time walking his dog late at night , listening to a podcast on his airpods , instead of going out to a club w/ other well-known socialites .

a true artist at heart , nico refuses to conform to the current trends of hollywood , instead insisting on wearing thrifted clothes to important galas — ‏‏‎much to the frustration of his PR team and the chagrin of his stylists . but none of the choices nico makes seems to surprise anyone anymore . driving flashy cars and wearing designer clothes has never really been his style , after all . and it’s important to him that he remain authentically himself despite everything .

It had been a gradual slip, like the tide wearing away at a sandstone cliff. hi all !! this is an introduction to my freshest muse and newest baby yeo eunchan otherwise and more commonly known as ‘chan’, he’s a sweetheart but of course because its me and i can’t resist giving my muses slight torture, he’s a tormented sweetheart. if you look at his pinterest here you’ll get an idea of his style better since that’s pretty essential to him as a muse in this case hshd. below the cut you can find out a bit more about him and if you hit the like, i’ll be sure to throw him at you for plots !! lets get into it: 

BACKSTORY: 

chan’s childhood wasn’t particularly dark or strained. he is by far the least tragic out of all my muses. but for me, that’s still pretty tragic by mosts standards. growing up he always had a very supportive father in regard to his homosexuality and androgynous qualities. he grew up in a happy home and despite not being rich he was very fortunate to have rich opportunities come his way. to be fair he’s pretty easily pleased but most of his experiences thus far have been plentiful

perhaps that is why his luck has to run out somewhere down the line, in the worst way it possibly could. his mother passed when he was young due to cancer. it was a grave and difficult time for his father as well as the rest of the family. his father crumbled eventually, in the hospital with health issues now that are so severe he’s due to pass any day and is basically in a vegetative state already. chan was left to raise his five year old sister nari and take on the responsibility. 

for this reason, he could be considered a struggling single father as he’s pushing his own dreams and goals aside to accomodate for nari and make sure she has the best upbringing which is comfortable for her, where she can see chan as a father figure as well as an older brother now, who can be relied upon and responsible. balancing the line and the roles between brother and father isn’t always easy though when the lines are constantly blurred. he has sacrificed most of himself and his youth to keep nari happy and healthy and mostly untouched by the death of their parents. 

this hasn’t been easy though, it’s left chan isolated and with no one to speak to but the five year old girl a lot of his feelings get locked in a box and left unexplored, he cannot have a moment of hesitation or weakness because then that will affect nari. his mourning process and grieving has been put on a backline, and he only really allows himself to break down in quiet moments without nari. such as when walking through the forest to be with nature, visiting their graves or on the edge of his bed having a good cry when nari is fast asleep due to the feeling of living in the empty space where his parents used to fill it all up. 

PERSONALITY: 

chan is a makeup artist, he does it professionally for models and artists all throughout the industry but he also does it for fun, becoming pretty popular as a person who gives tutorials on youtube and instagram as an ‘influencer’ but he really hates that label and prefers to simply think of himself as an artist. he also does the bit of fashion blogging and photography on the side. 

he considers himself an adventurer and for that reason he also travels a lot, usually while he is there he’ll study as he does photography for a course as well as a part time student and his main interest is in ancient architecture and art. most of the time he’ll roadtrip in his styled up vintage pick up but occasionally its flights to more beachy area’s, his two favorite places are greece and italy and he spends most of his time in those places if he can.

chan has a very vintage sense of style and he enjoys doing most things the traditional and old school way. although he does add a modern mindset to a lot of it. aesthetically style wise envision chan as fingers full of plenty of rings, ankle bracelets and arm cuffs with loose puffy sleeved shirts and ripped up mom jeans or high waisted ones. he cycles mostly everywhere on his vintage style bike. 

very much a gentle soul, little bit of a nerd and activist in the sense he wants to save the earth. he can be really intense about learning about nature and how to preserve it. he has always felt the most in touch with the natural world compared to the hum and chaos of the modern world and city life. he’s no saint of course and he’s still a sucker for coffee but other than that he likes to think he does his best. 

paints and draws very amazingly likewise, he prefers to draw flowers and people the most but he’ll work with whatever he’s got on hand. usually you can only catch him whipping out a sketchbook if he’s feeling stressed or overwhelmed as a form of escapism and quiet time. 

he is a little bit of a quixotic type so sue him, like one of the ‘have you ever fallen in love’ 'five times a day’ types but it’s not obsessive, it’s more of an admiration he considers all people beautiful and worthy of love in their own way and would state most of them are art to him. you could be the worst person and he’d be all ’ you dont have all the facts’ 'which are?’ 'i love them’.

although he doesn’t identify as genderfluid, he has a very genderfluid and androgynous sense of fashion and often wears clothing and makeup typically labelled as being more feminine. he likes a soft and classy look that usually consists of a good lip tint or ultra glossy lip and a natural but glittery smokey eye look. think kinda like the instagram influencer ivanbaaaaah for reference. 

MISC: 

growing up chan struggled with religion a lot, he and his family are very religious but his sexuality caused some issues. his father had always been supportive but his mother was a different story, unfortunately his memories with her aren’t the fondest. though he has a very dark history with religion, he loves to be in churches that are empty or abandoned for moments of reflection. often he wonders if he doesn’t even have god as the one consistent and reliable thing in his life, then what the hell does he have. he feels even now sometimes that he’s letting god and his mother down for the way he is but there is less shame now than what he suffered when younger. 

everything in his life basically revolves around nari, she goes most places with him and any task he’ll find a way to make fun for her, he doesn’t spoil her but he also doesn’t ever leave her to go without even if that is at his expense to do so. they love to bake together and he does that pretty often. 

has a part time job as a barista on night shifts and also in a patisserie. he works from home on his influencer content again to accommodate for nari and he also takes his course in photography and media online to best suit nari so he doesn’t have to leave her with a babysitter too often as he believes that’s no childhood and him just being lazy in his duty towards her as her parental figure at this pivotal time in her life. 

he’s putting off most of his dreams and aspirations right now for until nari is older, he could’ve been much more famous as an influencer but he chose not to be and put those opportunities to broaden his career on hold for a while because having a famous sibling in her life wasn’t the kind of overwhelming attention and pressure nari needed to be surrounded with right now. 

he honestly just wants to make sure nari grows up feeling safe, comfortable and happy as well as confident in herself and chan. she’s his primary responsibility and he considers himself her closest bet to a father now so he wants her to feel she has that bond with him as well as the bond of him being her brother. 

PLOT BUNNIES: 

a babysitter plot would be great, someone who he can rely on and uses often to leave nari with when he has no other choice and particularly on nights when he has to work. ideally it would be someone nari felt very close to and idolized so he knew they had an amazing relationship and she’d be happy and relaxed when he was gone. he’s very over protective of her so he’d also have to feel pretty close to the person. it could go any way really, it could be a pining thing, a best friend thing, whatever honestly. 

this boy definitely needs a confidant so throw that at me any day. 

friends who can help him reconnect with religion and spirituality in different ways so he knows there’s always a way for him to feel tied to god somehow and a god who loves him and best suits his needs somewhere even if it isn’t necessarily in the religion he grew up with. 

work buddies at the cafe he works in or patisserie would be amazing too. 

maybe a tutor/study buddy kinda person he met online through doing his course of media and photography to make sure he was making up for the classes he was missing out on by not being able to attend day lectures in college. 

just people with the similar hobby of photography would also be awesome or models even that he can do a couple of freelance jobs for on the side when they need him. 

muses for him to draw they’d be very special people indeed bc chan will rarely whip his sketchbook out in front of anyone let alone ask to draw them. 

more single parent muses would also be awesome eventually or older siblings who kind of take on that role half the time so have some idea of what its like who he could meet through taking nari to things like nursery, etc. 

neighbor bc who doesn’t love a good single dad and his neighbor plot  who’s all like woah that guy is super young and he has a kid but im also sure there’s no woman on the scene and wow they’re noisy and its kinda infuriating but its also cute as hell cause he’s a hella good dad and in the mornings i can hear them baking and doing food fights or playing together and i often see them messing about coming back from grocery shopping etc and actually its kinda touching?? 

gay pals cause we love gay pals as well as ur everyday pals we love a platonic bond between fellow gays. 

love interests of any kind rlly, pining situations, crushing, flings, ex’s ( they’d have had to have ended on good terms tho bc chan just can’t hate anyone ), first times e.g. sexually, boyfriend, kiss u get the idea

The Pick-Up Line

The day started off great, Lucy decides, as she walks from the small shops in the center of Magnolia. The sun is bright on her skin and her new shirt, white with pink accents, hugs her figure like a second skin. With all the jobs she’s taken recently, the blonde almost never finds time to pamper herself. That ends today; she can’t help the smile that adorns her face.

She all but skips to the guild hall, her laughter bubbling in her because she can’t wait to show Mira. The white mage is always happy to share in Lucy’s love of fashion; since Erza’s taste in clothes are somewhat…eccentric? Yes, eccentric, Lucy can’t exactly relate to the red mage’s sense of style.

Yes, the day that started off so great, is shattered the second she opens the doors. Furniture is flying, food not far behind, and Lucy is pretty sure sees Wendy get launched into the mix; the bluenette’s cry for help pulls at her heart strings. Is it too much to ask for just one day where the guild didn’t get destroyed?

“I’m gone for a couple hours and you guys tear this place apart!” She shouldn’t be shocked at this point. Fighting is as easy as breathing to the buffoons of Fairy Tail, but she loves all of them. Especially a certain pink haired fire wizard that she can’t seem to get out of her mind as of late.

“Hey Lucy!” Natsu flashes her his thousand watt smile and her heart skips into overdrive. Lately, she realizes with sobering conviction, she’s been unable to stop herself from staring at him. His smile, his posture, the way he acts. She notices everything and it only makes her want him more. The only question is, will she ever muster up the courage to actually ask him out? A resounding no echoes in her mind.

Gray interrupts her thoughts by launching the pink mage across the room, shouting something about him needing to pay attention; Lucy is ducking for cover when Natsu flashes past her in a blur of pink fire. There is a loud crash and the celestial mage is soon crawling on the floor to avoid fatal hits; trying her hardest to keep her new shirt in one piece. She paid a lot of jewel for this shirt and she is going to lose her shit if it gets ruined before she even has it a day.

“Welcome back Lucy!” Mira is excited as always, a glass in her hand while she expertly avoids flying debris. Lucy doesn’t know how she does it.

“Mira how can you be so calm at a time like this?” She can’t fathom how the takeover mage is cleaning dishes while her friends break everything in sight. Maybe it’s her way of dealing with it? Lucy doesn’t know.

“How can you not be calm?” Mira chuckles and pulls her out of the way of a chair and Lucy sees her life flash before her eyes. “You’ve been a member for a long time now Lucy, you should expect this. Just a normal day.” Normal, she laughs nervously as her eyes scan the destruction before her. How is any of this normal?

“Sorry Mira!” Natsu’s voice echoes from across the hall, and for a moment, Lucy thinks it’s about to calm down. Another crash sounds, and she’s watching Natsu fly over her and into the liquor cabinet. Glass and alcohol explode and she can’t hold back the panic in her shout as she tries, and fails, to save her shirt.

“Are you kidding me?” She glares first at Natsu, then to whomever launched him in the first place, but stiffens when she sees it was Erza. “This shirt was brand new!”

“It’s cute Lucy.” Mira gives her a once over before handing her a towel, “I’m sorry it got ruined.”

“Me too.” Lucy cries. Today has gone from good, to all hell breaking loose so fast her head is spinning.

“It looks really good on you, save for the whiskey stains now,” the white mage chuckles, “I bet it would look even better on Natsu’s floor.” She speaks so nonchalant that it doesn’t register in Lucy’s brain for a second and she’s wiping herself off in silence. Then it hits her like a slap to the face and she finds herself turning red.

“Excuse me?” She can’t think of anything else to say. Mira has been known to say some crazy things and play match maker, but Lucy has never experienced it first hand.

“You heard me,” she winks and points to Natsu, who seems frozen, “I bet it would look good on Natsu’s floor.”

“No no, I heard you the first time Mira. I’m just having a hard time comprehending it.” Lucy swears there is smoke coming out of her ears right then.

“Did you just hit on her for me?” Natsu speaks suddenly as he raises a brow to Mira.

“Yeah, did you just hit on me for him?” Lucy repeats his question, not knowing whether or not he’s happy or angry about it; and honestly not sure if she’s brave enough to ask.

“Someone had to,” Mira crosses her arms and huffs, “you two have been in love with each other for like ever, but you’re both too scared to do anything about it” Lucy hates to admit it, but Mira has a point. She’s been too afraid to ask Natsu out herself, and according to the white mage, Natsu has been faced with the same dilemma; Lucy can’t help the smile that spreads.

“So what do ya say Luce?” Natsu flashes her another famous smile, “wanna see if it looks as good on my floor?”

ngl, i already had this typed up since yesterday bc i just wanted all my ideas out. at first, i had 3 different charas in mind, but then i thought why not combine all ideas into one? without further ado, here’s eleanor richards’ intro + her pinterest! note: i didn’t proofread, so if there’s info that doesn’t line up w/ dad being old money, mom being new money, etc. then my bad.

eleanor is from both old and new money. 

from her dad’s side, the family generations became old money as they worked in banks, politics, and real estate with other wealthy families before her great grandpa decided to work on his own. he started off with real estate then ventured into hotels. her father, mark warner, currently runs the businesses as it was eventually inherited to him. her mother, penelope richards, grew in new money. they got into the fashion business and penelope runs her own clothing and bag line.

they soon fell in love and her grandparents, on both sides, basically pushed them to marry as they thought it was a good deal to have different rich families come into one. however, they eventually divorced. 

penelope became more greedy and showed her true colors. she was manipulative, using people, keeping shady secrets, etc. and more focused on power, trying to make the best deals, and money. her dad just wanted a nice, calm life with someone he loved and hardly recognized his wife anymore. now, her mom’s been married more than 3 times by now, which eleanor became used to.

her dad soon moved back to new york to be with his side of the family and still stays in contact with him. even decided to live with him for a few years for her middle school education before going back to mom. there, she learned money isn’t everything and to be grateful. even now, she stays on contact and visits during summers and sometimes christmas. as for the other men in her mom’s life, she hasn’t been close to them as she wanted to. she just saw no point when they would eventually leave anyway.

growing up, she became used to drama almost everyday and still wonders why she hasn’t changed her last name yet. that meant she was tired of the life her family was living. a reason why she chose to hardly be in the richards’ family business and wanted to work on her own life.

she also has a sister she used to be very close to when they were young, but her sister grew and became just like her mom, a selfish bitch. she would create schemes in school, be the most popular student, think about only herself, etc. eleanor couldn’t stand being with more people like mom and became distant.

to deal with anything her mom was doing and to get away from reality, she turned to anime, manga, cartoons and video games. she felt these things kept her sane in her wild family. her room is decorated with anime posters, shelves of manga, and watches anime almost everyday. she’ll also go to multiple cons every year and will cosplay once in a while.

another interest she took up was baking. specifically french pastries and sweets. it made her realize she wants to become a pâtissier and her goals are to be world-known and have her own bakery company someday. she started baking around the age of twelve when she was with her dad. he bought her baking books and supplies. since then, she worked on improving her skills and sharing desserts she made with others around the neighborhood to hear feedback.

although, that’s not the only hobby she decided on. when it came to video games, she would play in arcades and at home with console and handheld ones before going into pc games. one game she fell for was overwatch. she’d end up staying all night playing and getting her rank up. soon enough, she was able to be in a team of professional players.

being into two different hobbies, she became torn because of how much time either one took. she wanted to continue playing overwatch and being able to meet so many new people, but she also enjoyed baking and loved seeing how her sweets made others happy.

she was already in college for baking, but when overwatch appeared in her life, she felt, and still feels, conflicted.

she has mixed feelings about the disappearances of everybody else. she’s sad to not see her mom and the staff around the house anymore, not being able to talk to her dad, and not being in contact with the team. however, she feels oddly calm about the situation too. for some reason, she just isn’t freaking out entirely. sure, she finds it strange that everyone else is gone and wants to find out more about the situation, but she feels there’s really not much she can do, so why stress over it?

the reason she’s in kitchen help is because she’s already used to being in a kitchen for so long and feels that’s what her most useful skill is right now.

one thing she truly dislikes is having people sleeping in her home. she feels uncomfortable sharing the space with those she hardly knows and argued about it for a while before giving up. eleanor continues to feel uncomfortable, so she kept a few important pieces in her own room away from others.

I can see him going with a dark maroon for the hair. It’d be fun/not a natural hair color that he might justify dying his hair, while still being understated enough to not be competing with his casino-sign-reincarnated-as fashion outfits (he actually does put effort into things like that, which is why he’s never gone through dying his hair even though he likes the idea. her brother used to throw pretty big ragers in their place when their parents were gone so......she started drinking & doing drugs at a pretty young age & just generally hanging out with ppl who were much older than her & v bad influences.

Okay So I Say This In Literally The Nicest Possible Way

But mainstream fashion is /really/ fucking boring.  Now, I am a /very/ firm believer that fashion is always in the category of ‘Not okay to criticize, make fun of, or be mean to people over’.  Like, period.  Unless bigotry is involved (like a Trump hat), or you are explicitly being asked by someone to give critique of their fashion, just be nice.  Find something nice to say about it, if asked for an opinion.  If you really can’t avoid expressing your dislike, keep it very ‘Not my thing, but you do you’.  All of this is like, in my official moral code.

That being said, mainstream fashion is /so boring/.  Like, I get that there are plenty of people who are not interested in fashion.  Who are perfectly happy with minimal effort in that realm, or who like comfy clothes and nothing else, etc, etc.  This is not what I’m talking about.  And I’m also not talking about people who have to deal with a very strict dress code (as far as I’m concerned, uniforms are much more effective at creating a sense of unity than dress codes, and much more inclusive too, but that’s another post).

Like, I /love/ alternative fashion.  And I don’t just mean the punk, goth, tattooed and pierced type of alternative (altho I def love that).  I’m talking Jfashion, too!!  Lolita, Fairy Kei, Decora, Cult Party Kei, Shironuri, Uchuu Kei, Visual Kei, Mori/Strega, Mahou Kei, Menhera, etc!!  (Google any of those and tell me they are not exciting at the least.  Fairy Kei is my top fav.)  Other, more obscure ones, too.  Rave Kids, Rainbowcore, Kidcore, all of it!! And I see them get a lot of love, but nobody willing to actually wear them!!  Countless people adding comments like ‘Oh, I love that!!  But I would/could never wear it’.

Guess what!!  You can!!!!  You clearly like it!!  Wear it!!!!  And like, okay, I get that dress codes at jobs and general financial issues are a factor here.  But it’s not even really about specific individuals wearing or not wearing things.  It’s about the /culture/.  The culture that doesn’t just say that color and excitement are ‘unprofessional’ and ‘age inappropriate’ and other bullshit made up things, but that can look at a basic tank dress and decide that it’s somehow more fashionable and creative than an oversized hair bow or fur leg warmers!!!!

Just??  I don’t????  Understand????????  Like, people like lots of different things, sure.  But I find it hard to believe that the majority of people genuinely prefer neutrals to neon pastels.  They’re so pretty!!!!  Like so pretty I get legitimately emotional thinking about them!!!!  And people just??  Don’t wear them????  In this age of internet shopping, you can’t tell me that no one can find anywhere to buy colorful clothes.

And we’re getting there!!  Unicorns and mermaids and holographic things are trending.  Not quite in the mainstream, and not quite in generic everyday clothes, but it’s something.  Plus, we’re on the way to a much less gendered approach to fashion as a whole.  Guys are wearing skirts and rompers, that’s a good sign!!!!  I’m just tired of constantly envying after the little girl’s clothes, and of all the fashion on Pinterest being boring colors and boring silhouettes and boring accessories and just boring all around!!!!!!!!

I really don’t mean to talk shit about fashion.  I think that people can wear whatever they want, and if they like it, then that’s the best possible thing for them to wear.  But we, as a society, have this whole fuck ton of completely bullshit ideals for fashion.  It’s ridiculously gendered (altho one could argue that anything gendered is ridiculously so).  And it’s very toned down, very ‘professional’ and ‘mature’ and other boring, stupid things.

And honestly that’s probably tied into the gendered part, too, actually.  People talk about that concept of women in media who aren’t /girly/, but they’re still /feminine/.  That whole ‘They’re not so openly feminine as to be irritating or intimidating, but they’re still classically, /naturally/ pretty’ issue.  They’re ‘not like other girls’, but they still have long hair, and they do actually wear makeup, they just don’t make it too ‘over the top’, and of course they never /bore/ their boyfriend/love interest with any of the details of their hair and makeup.

If I really think about it, that’s probably a big factor in how boring a lot of fashion seems right now.  Because fashion is seen as feminine, so something men are bothered and irritated and threatened by, but it’s also seen as attractive to a certain extent.  So people want fashion that’s attractive to the male gaze, while not being ‘embarrassing’ or ‘intimidating’ or ‘annoying’ to that same male gaze.

Kind of like how, even with how statistically women still do more of the cooking and household chores, all the colors for kitchen and home appliances in the US (outside of pricey novelty brands) are Manly Colors, because god forbid Men have to deal with ~cute~ colors and patterns in Their home.  Never mind the fact that women are the ones actually /using/ said appliances.

This post has gone off on a tangent or two, but in summary, I want fashion to be a fuck ton more queer and ungendered and colorful and also glitter.

'It felt as if it was made specifically for my body': Anthropologie just made the perfect plus-size wrap skirt

You know those items of clothing you are not too sure about at first glance, but as soon as you take the chance to try it on— everything just works instantly? Well this happened to me with this bold printed wrap skirt from Anthropologie’s new plus-size line APlus. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of crossover pieces and the use of fun patterns. The brand even got plus-size super models like Candice Huffine and Paloma Elesser to be the faces of the charming and unique collection.

I have always been such a fan of the classic etherial Anthropologie aesthetic and now that they are offering sizes 16W-26W—I could finally fit into the brand and I just had to try it out. Discovering this spritely printed skirt in their new collection was love at first sight. Though I typically don't opt for a midi length skirt I was feeling adventurous and tried it on for size. As soon as I felt the skirt easily slide over my hips, it felt as if it was made specifically for my body. I was sold.

“So Margie, whats so great about this wrap skirt?” you ask. Any time I am trying out a new item of clothing, I always go through the same internal questions to see how it stacks up against competitors to help justify if it’s a solid purchase or not. First and foremost is the sizing and comfort of the garment. In the case of this stellar wrap skirt, it’s offered in sizes 1x to 3x. Personally, I am wearing a size 2x which fits incredibly! This is all due to the secret elastic band in the back of the skirt which provides ease and comfort all day long... hallelujah. Did I mention the design is a faux wrap skirt so you don't actually have to go through all the hassle of untying the whole thing every time you take it on and off?

Next up is the “style-ability” of the garment which is all about how many different ways I can wear the item. I found that even though the skirt was a bold red printed skirt there were a ton of ways to style it in new and interesting ways. Most importantly, it passed the “can I dress this up and down?” test with flying colors. It looks effortlessly chic during the daytime when paired with a white crop tee and white booties or dressed up in head-to-toe black and with a fashionable moto jacket — which instantly adds some edge to a date night look.

Last but not least, it’s all about the price point. This wrap skirt retails for $120 and the new collection as a whole retails from around $38 to $260. Compared to the overall APlus line, the skirt was priced in the middle of the spectrum. However, since it can be styled in so many fun ways I was able to justify the purchase.

Cute Rompers And The History Of Everything Romper! The 411 On The Fashion Style That Is The Romper

 We've all seen fashions come and go, whether a brief fad or couple year trend, but there is one fashion style that has particularly peaked our interest. With all the rage being cute rompers... Have you ever wondered what the big deal is about rompers? Where did this popular trend come from and is it going to last? Originally thought to be a nod vintage fashion, rompers continue to evolve with new modern day styles, including one for men. There are also many people still skeptical about wearing rompers, so let’s take a look into the popular fashion style of cute rompers and see what it is all about. We are here to get the facts straight and enlighten your world of the century-old fashion known as the romper. 

The Evolution 

How did these one-piece wonders come about anyhow? In the early 1900s, rompers were first introduced as one-piece garments with shorts for infants. Made in easy to wash fabrics like cotton and loose fitting styles for easier mobility, this new development of practical play wear was the first casual clothing style made for children. The French even made a dressier version for their children to wear for more formal occasions. Originally made in solid colors and gingham check prints, floral designs and animal motifs made their début in the 1920s. The unisex design eventually segmented into gender-specific colors and patterns. The "onesie", as we now call it, is still the most popular and practical baby fashion to this day. So basically, the evolution of this wide stream women’s fashion trend started as a fashion for children. Pretty cool right? But it doesn’t stop there; the story is just getting started!

Due to the economic crisis of the Great Depression and men leaving to fight in WWII, women had to enter the workforce and this, my friends, changed fashion forever. Despite skepticism at the time regarding women wearing pants, women were given a role that needed more practical garments to do the job in. Rationing also led to the construction of garments with considerably less fabric. Wearing fewer articles of clothing/less layers and shortening the hemlines of dresses and pants became practical ways to adapt to the current economic situation. This in turn, brought about the production of utilitarian style one-piece outfits for women. In result, women’s rompers became the newest fashion trend of the 1940s.

The popularity of women’s rompers peaked during the post-war times of the 1950s. Also known as The Golden Age, this American era is known for its family-oriented, prosperous, and happy lifestyle due to the growth of economic stability. With men coming home from war, these times were full of celebration and family. Women wore playsuits as a casual summer outfit to wear outdoors to celebrate and entertain in. Rompers were then termed “playsuits”, a term we often use interchangeably with romper to this day. Playsuits were made for fun in the sun and entertaining whether on the beach or in the backyard. Contrary to the previous decade, these playsuits were made of bright, vibrant colors in contrast to the dull, drab colors in the 1940s as a reflection of the happier times. Bright reds, greens and blues were trendy colors of the time. Playsuits additionally featured popular printed fabrics like plaids, gingham and checks in bright colors as well. In the latter half of the 1950s, vivid floral patterns and fun Hawaiian prints were introduced and were a must-have playsuit for that time these were some of the cutest rompers on the scene. Also made with easy to wash, lightweight cotton fabrics, this decade introduced rayon as a new fabric alternative to the playsuit scene. This decade gave us our first glimpse of ready-to-wear fashion and will always coin the term vintage playsuit.

Rompers stayed popular throughout the 1970s and 1980s when they were first considered an actual fashion, rather than just casual clothing. A wider variety of materials started to be used in manufacturing playsuits as well. Long rompers, or rompers with pants instead of shorts, are called jumpsuits. Although seemingly different in style, many people still use the terms jumpsuit and romper/playsuit interchangeably to this day due to their similarities in origin. Jumpsuits were introduced to the scene in the early 19th century initially for men to wear parachuting and skydiving, but then became popular for women in the 1930’s. The jumpsuit became a statement fashion for both men and women in the 1970s, as seen worn by many music and dance influencers that appeared on the TV show Soul Train. The seventies fashion movement in general was a radical transformation in society that changed fashion forever. As disco fashion led the way, the 1980s decade featured jumpsuits with everything from shiny fabrics and head-to-toe embellishments that made the ultimate statement outfit.

Both jumpsuits and rompers started to fade away once the 1990s came around, as styles like grunge and casual chic took over. Following that with the futuristic Y2K decade, we didn’t see rompers again until around 2006. The response to this soon-to-reemerge trend was reluctance; hence, the trend consistently going in and out of style over short periods of time before ultimately being accepted as a mainstream fashion. This uncertainty is probably what generated the confusion we’ve had about whether or not the romper is back as just a trend or is here to stay. Rompers made a huge comeback in the year 2011 and haven't gone away since! If anything, rompers have become even more stylish with an endless assortment of designs to choose from. Rompers and jumpsuits in general have become an acceptable fashion to wear to dressier, special occasions such as weddings and cocktail parties. Designers continue to flood the runway each season with new fashion styles that can easily be incorporated into every woman's closet. Additionally, the advancements in one-piece fit and silhouette designs are now flattering to all figures and can easily accommodate every body type. With a widespread assortment of design styles available, many featuring embellishments or trendy details, and an endless selection of fabrics to choose from have made these one-piece wonders designed to work on everyone no matter age, body shape or time of year. Rompers are still the must-have summer fashion due to the ideal combo of shorts, lightweight fabrics and overall style. However, due to the rise in popularity, designers have made rompers adaptable to the other seasons as well. Long sleeve rompers in heavier fabrics, such as velvet and suede, are a top fashion for the cooler seasons and look fabulous paired with boots or booties. You can easily don a pair of tights and a fur vest for those chillier days and what New Year’s Eve is complete without a sequin-embellished romper?! So as you can see, it is safe to say the romper is back and here to stay for good!

One of the reasons the romper is so popular is in part due to its numerous advantages and they are as cute as ever! First and foremost, rompers are just plain easy! You don't have to worry about matching up a top and bottom outfit, because we all have those days where we just can’t make a decision. You get the easiness and comfort of a dress but the ability to do anything with the shorts. Rompers are also extremely versatile, as you can easily dress them up or down to suit your occasion. You can take the romper from day-to-night with just a change of shoes and jewelry. Also with an endless assortment of styles to choose from, there is quite literally something for everybody. Ranging from lounge attire to bathing suit cover-ups, casual daytime to dressy date-night styles and even fancier styles to wear for a more formal occasion, you essentially can have a wardrobe full of different designs that work for every day of the week! With so many one-piece options available, talk about an affordable style that's easy on the wallet! They are also simply fun to wear and they make a great travel companion too, as they take up less room in your suitcase and are easy to throw on and go. Rompers are perfect transitional outfits that easily adapt to the weather change from one season to the next. The advantages of the romper certainly justify its modern day comeback and permanent home in the fashion industry.

Modern Day Fashion

Since becoming a mainstream modern day fashion, another version of the romper has recently emerged and is currently a hot new trend. Fashion history still in the making ladies! Maxi rompers are the super chic and stylish one-piece sister of the romper who likes a little more whimsy in her everyday glam. Maxi rompers are a combination of a maxi dress and romper where a train or duster connects to the shorts portion of the romper on the back. Much like the skort, the style gives you the appearance of a romper with a train in the front and maxi dress in the back. So if you love the look of the maxi skirt but don’t want to feel covered up in the hot summer sun, a maxi romper is the perfect solution to keep you looking stylish and feeling breezy for any summer occasion. Maxi rompers are typically dressier than your everyday romper with an array of lightweight fabrics in a spectrum of colors and stylish prints to choose from. Although commonly made in solid colors, stripes and tie-dye prints are a couple of cute romper patterns that add a little flair your overall look.

 2: Casual Daytime Rompers 

Now this category of rompers is much more broad, but certainly some of the cutest rompers made! Perfect for brunch or shopping with the girls, casual daytime rompers are the most versatile of the group as they can be worn with cute little sandals or wedges and easily dressed up or down to meet the occasion. Lightweight fabrics from cotton poly blends to linen and rayon to chambray offer a wide range of styles in this category to choose from. You can definitely find a solid-colored romper in any shade of the rainbow, but popular warm tones are pink, maroon, bright red and burnt orange. Popular cool tones are emerald green, royal blue and navy. Neutral colors like gray, taupe, white and the most iconic romper color, black, are just as popular. With rompers commonly layered with trendy jewelry, cute kimonos or denim jackets, sometimes letting the accessories make the color statement adds a chic touch and stylish flair to your outfit. If you do decide on a bright fun color, be sure to pair your cute romper with neutral accessories so it shines on its own! 

Prints take the romper to the next level, as you can currently find an endless selection of patterns to choose from. Currently popular is of course floral prints. Tropical print rompers seem to be making a comeback since the popular 1950’s trend! Stripes are a timeless print especially on a cute romper. Bohemian-influenced design styles are a very popular romper fashion. Ideal for wearing to concerts during the festival season, boho-chic rompers are just plain fun and easy to layer with boho accessories and a big pair of sunnies! Beach concerts or street fair festivals, you can rock your romper look with a lace bralette underneath, layered necklaces and feather earrings along with a floppy hat and voilà! Cool girl style cute rompers are ideal for wearing during sorority recruitment. This dressy casual romper is glam all by itself, but looks ultra-glam with a pair of pearls, gold cuff bracelet and a pair of sandals. Go for a sweet and chic look with a pastel color and sleek, sophisticated silhouette when choosing your romper. Lace is also a popular choice and you can't go wrong with a little black romper. Easily dressed up with jewelry and heels or wedges, you can wear a dressier romper to a wedding, formal dinner, or a general night out. 

Currently, there are quite a few romper trends to be on the lookout for that are oh so cute and stylish.

Off the shoulder or cold shoulder styles are super cute and on trend as well as fluttery bell sleeves for added flair. Perfect for either casual or dressy style rompers.

Open back detail adds a wow-factor to your outfit to spice things up on date-night or keep cool beachside. From cut-outs to crisscross strappy styles, everyone will want to watch you leave in a trendy open back romper.

Anything that wraps, knots or ties is a leading trend in the romper world. Wrap style rompers are super cute with a side tie and asymmetric hemline. A tie-front romper adds a little flair to the front of your romper and if you're daring, go with a tie-front with a little cutout too!

To sum, the history of the romper fashion trend start over a century ago as an infant fashion. It became a top fashion trend for women in the 1940s and peaked in the 1950s when the term "playsuit" was used as another word for the romper. Playsuits stayed fashionable through the 1980s as well as the jumpsuit, a favorite fashion of the time. Rompers seemingly disappear until they crept back on the scene in 2006. They were in and out of style until 2011 when they came back as a top fashion trend that never really went away. With the recent introduction of the maxi romper that has become a top spring and summer fashion the past couple of years, it is safe to say that the romper is back in a big way and ultimately here to stay.
