Beautiful Anomaly (Part 8): Morpheus x FReader (Final Chapter for the story)

A couple of disclaimers:

1.) This is all based on the Netflix show and I have 0 background on the graphic novel it is based on (so don't expect it to be faithful);

2.) This is a fan work, the only benefit I derive from this is sharing it with the community.

AN: I would like to say thank you to everyone who has liked, read, and commented on this fic. This is the shortest chapter among the series but I hope you'll nevertheless enjoy it. Part 9 will be the steamy nsfw scenes that are only implied here (this is Safe For Work since I don't want to sacrifice the story to those who wouldn't be comfortable with NSFW scenes).

Btw if you're planning on reading the crossover spin-off fic "Higher Intervention" which is mainly in the House of the Dragons universe with Sandman elements. There is a spoiler/hint at the end of who FemReader is. If you don't want to know who it is, don't read beyond the line "It's the rise of a new era."

For those of you who are new. I highly recommend reading the previous parts first because I don’t know if you will understand everything without first reading those.

"This is almost unexpected." Morpheus says as he helps you set up your dinner after arriving earlier than expected.

"Think of it as an ice breaker of some kind." You finally lay down the last of the food that you've made earlier. It was on the simple but hearty side. Pomodoro pasta with fresh tomato sauce and basil topped with parmesan cheese; Homemade Garlic bread; Deep fried Calamari sprinkled with some herbs that you have; and for the beverages you place the large carafe of Lipton's lemon flavored iced tea, and another carafe of water.

"We've known each other for awhile."

"You say that and yet it seemed that there are still some parts of you that I have yet to discover. Besides almost all dates start with a meal of some kind." He smiles at that as the two of you seat across each other.

"This is mainly a meal for yourself."

"And I took the effort to not be lazy and cook enough for both of us. You can't refuse and place my efforts to waste." He gives you a smirk with a raised eyebrow.

"You took the effort to make sure I actually eat."

"That's generally the idea, yes. Go on." Shaking his head in amusement he places some of the calamari on his plate as you mix the pasta and the sauce, before taking some and placing it on your plate.

"I know compared to the food in the dreaming, this pales in comparison. But I do hope my efforts satisfy you." He takes some large bites of the calamari, finishing his share in brief time.

"You shall be glad to know that I am more than satisfied." He takes some pasta and the garlic bread.

"Oh thank you."

"And contrary to what you believe, it is at par with what the dreaming serves."

"Really?" You raise an eyebrow. Doubt evident in your expression.

"Yes. I am just reminded that the real food satisfies urges that I have forgotten."

"Nourishment satisfies physiological urges so that people may be able to satisfy urges of less physical needs."

"Such as companionship."

"Yes, and the urge to create, the urge to consume stories."

"Almost everything has a story."

"But not everything has to be a story told."

"True, but all stories have some sort of purpose. Whether it's simply to entertain or for something else."

"Like putting me to sleep and leading me to the dreaming?" He couldn't help but smile at this.

"Exactly."

After briefly cleaning up and vigorously washing the dishes. You prepare yourself for the actual date. Morpheus waits in your bedroom as you change in the bathroom. Normally you wouldn't mind simply having him turn around as you change into your sleepwear. But this was just the first date even though you've known him longer than any of your lovers. And you would rather the two of you had a sturdier foundation to build your romantic relationship from. Other things can wait.

You dress in a cotton long-sleeved shift. Not something that people would think of as sexy, but you wanted to be comfortable. Besides, if he had any issue with you dressing more for comfort than for seduction, then he was probably had high hopes for tonight.

"I'm ready." He takes a seat as you settle in your bed. And soon you fell asleep to the sound of his voice lulling you to sleep.

And soon you find yourself in an unfamiliar part of the dreaming. You were in a location that was reminiscent of Venice at a time when gondolas were still the main means of travel. The sun was setting and you could understand how it made the scene so romantic.

"You just can't help yourself can you?"

"I have catered it to your liking. I assure you it is still rather intimate, just as you requested." He steps into an empty gondola and picks up the rowing oar before he lends a hand to you. Feeling giddy you take it and you step into the gondola. Once you were inside, you settle yourself on front of him. And it was then that you realize that it was a modified gondola and was reminiscent of the boat used by the Phantom and Christine to travel into his lair. It was downright luxurious with velvet lining and pillows. And much like the show, it had enough room for two and could double as a bed comfortably.

"You got inspiration from my favorite musical?"

"Yes, among many things that you liked." His voice was lighter and yet still proud about his work.

"Are there rising candelabras later?"

"Maybe next time. I promised to err on the side of comfort and intimacy."

"Well thank you for respecting my wishes."

The journey allowed you to pass by gorgeous sites. In the sky the stars have begun to come out and street lamps show the various people living their lives. Close enough to give you an idea of what they're doing, yet far enough to still allow them some privacy.

"I recall when you were a high priest for Ek Chuah that you enjoyed watching people from afar in the temple. When I asked about it back then if it was similar to my position, you explained that it was something else." He says in a gentler almost affectionate tone. Nostalgia brings you back to that lifetime.

You had just finished the sacrificial offerings to Ek Chuah on front of the populace. Contrary to what some people believe right now, part of your training was to show no malice towards the people who were prepared as offerings. It was well understood that it is a task that no one would volunteer for. Those who had volunteered for it, those who were actively seeking death in the guise of a self-offering were not worthy of being offerings at all. People from either your own or from captured prisoners who wanted to live, who wanted to thrive, were what made them the ideal offerings. Colonial Spaniards later on would think the Aztec people, a newer civilization and culture from the seeds of your Mayan culture, thought that those who were wailing about not being offered on the altar despite them being set free simplified them to be bizarre suicidal people. When really it was about respecting the faith and the preparations made for them to be offered. To not follow through with the offering was taboo, and a risk no one was willing to take.

He appeared by your side disguised as a fellow priest as the two of you look out from the temple. You don't know how long the two of you talked, but when he had to leave, it was about to be dawn, and you had yet to sleep.

"I remembered how puzzled you were that I seemed to enjoy watching people live out their lives. You sometimes watched me do it in my previous lifetimes that you thought it was to simply observe."

"There was a spark that seemed to grow and dim in a pattern I have yet to discover. And it made me curious enough that I needed to know more from you." You briefly hold on to the sides of the boat as he made a turn to the left.

"What I said back then is still true now. I enjoy watching people live out their lives because there are so many possibilities of living life that even with the many lifetimes I lived, I still will not be able to experience everything and anything. I still don't know the nuances of how cobblers make shoes, though I can appreciate watching them work and the product that comes. I still don't know what a teenage boy is whispering to a teenage girl that made her laugh, even though I have a guess as to what it is and have been in both their places. There is just so much possibility, and yet it ironically is also follows a similar pattern no matter where I am born in."

"I remember being startled that you don't just simply use your ability to read the conscious minds of the people you were curious about. But then you explained the intricacies of doing that while you are still mortal and not in your Intangible form."

"I also don't like unnecessarily reading other's minds. They deserve the privacy to actually think whatever their minds want no matter how much I agree, disagree, or any other reaction I may have. If they cannot be themselves in the place that they cannot escape from, then how are they to really know who they are? Even if it is a vague idea of what their true selves may be."

Morpheus makes a right turn before finally stopping at a port where he gets off first before helping you step onto the marble floor. It was only then that you realize that your dress was a more walk friendly version of Christine Daae's white night robe from the show. Made of silk and lace and yet it was so soft and comfortable that you barely noticed it on your skin.

"Is this going to be you singing Music of the Night?" He smiles, his expression lighthearted as you take his arm as he leads you through the streets.

"My equivalent of that perhaps. Originally I was going to treat you to foods that you have been missing for awhile. But since you are still full and you enjoy simply walking around, we shall be taking a longer route to your area in the dreaming." You couldn't help but smile at that as you allow him to lead the way.

"May I ask, did it ever occur to you that simply asking me or telling me would suffice?"

"About humanity or how I felt about you?"

"Both. Some things may have been prevented, some words never said, some misunderstandings cut in the bud."

"Would you believe me if I told you that looking back now, my pride and my ego may have blinded me and contributed to my mistakes." You take a sigh.

"Back then, maybe not. But now-now that Desire has shown me that I too am at the mercy of my own insecurities when it comes to you...perhaps."

"Of all the possible beings."

"They are living up to their name and domain. Even you can't deny that they are right in this instance."

"After they endangered you and risk ending all life in this world and possibly beyond?"

"This instance meaning when we confronted them. Not their actions forcing our confrontation with them. That being said, I could understand their reasons for taking that risk when it comes to the two of us. I'm not blind that they still want to harm you or to bring your ego down. But they were right to be concerned about what it might mean for the Universe if we didn't resolve this."

"Still, I would have appreciated alternative means for us to be where we are now."

The two of you pass by what appeared to be the dreaming's version of Café Van Gogh, only instead of being a still painting, it was animated and teaming with people going in and out and dining in the outdoor tables.

"They are other dreamers, those who have dreamed about dining in the famous Café Van Gogh."

"Can they see us?"

"If they choose to. Otherwise we are simply a couple of bystanders simply passing through their dreams."

"Hmm maybe on our next or succeeding date I would like to dine with you there."

"I shall take that into consideration."

"Out of curiosity, are there any sites or anything you want to do? I don't want to be the only one to have preferences on how we spend our time together."

The two of you take a turn to the right. A slightly quieter area but nevertheless still lively with a bunch of dreamers, their dream companions and some minor nightmares making mischief on their assigned targets.

"In all honesty, I truly am satisfied with simply having dinner with you. I find myself more satisfied from our conversations than anything I could simply conjure in the dreaming."

"Or - maybe you just aren't aware of what your own preferences are having served all beings capable of dreaming for awhile now that you neglected your own self."

"I was not aware that I was also receiving guidance from you."

"I couldn't help myself, I apologize."

"I - I do not mind if you enlighten me more. It seems I feel more receptive to such guidance from you." You couldn't help but make a small chuckle.

"Considering our history together, maybe we could benefit from enlightening each other."

"You? Being enlightened by me? When it is from you that my dreams are constituted and formed?"

"Have you forgotten how I worried that it was my fault that I couldn't save you? You enlightened me with how I aided you in your escape."

"And I wouldn't forget it soon."

"My point Morpheus, is that it turns out we actually benefit from each other." Your heart lightened as he couldn't help but chuckle. Sincerity in his voice as you knew he could see your point.

For the rest of the walk the two of you drift into conversations about how perhaps your domains have long influenced each other and are perhaps more interconnected than just simple influence. The conversation then branched out to various topics, him and his initial thoughts on art, the two of you then debating if art is the best midpoint of bringing dreams into reality.

"In the lifetimes where I was allowed to develop my skills as an artist, I remember being so frustrated that plenty of times my work no matter how praised and favored it was, was still less than how I imagined it to be. It's almost as if however I have imagined it, it was for mine alone and my work was the best I could to share it with others."

"And yet it is also those works that last longer than some of your lifetimes and have gone on to inspire others in their own dreams. I consider that a great compromise for not being able to share the way you have imagined it to be."

"We all want what we can't have. I still find myself mourning over those lost imaginations that seem to leave so quickly once they feel they have served their purpose. Some leave more quickly more than others, some linger for awhile only for me to wake up and suddenly realize that they have already left."

"I feel the same. Not simply about imaginations and thoughts but also some relationships, some things that I realize have simply escaped me."

"Such as connections with humanity?"

"Rather my own misconceptions of humanity."

You find yourself now at the door to your own deceptively small cottage in the dreaming. It was larger inside than what it looks on the outside. Similar to the houses Cain and Abel occupied with goldie, but more to your liking.

"Am I supposed to let go of you now?"

"Should you wish it." His tone was light, his face is neutral, but you could tell that he too didn't want it to end just yet.

"Then" you turn to face him, looking into the eyes that was capable of showing the universe, and a lot more.

"Would it be selfish of me to request you stay until I awake?" His lips turn upwards as he goes closer to you.

"It is a request that would also fulfill my own selfish desire." Smiling at him, you take his hand as you guide him inside.

The two of you spend the rest of the evening at each other's side by the fireplace. You laying your head on his shoulder as the two of you softly talk. It was what you wanted. Intimacy.

Soon you feel yourself beginning to awaken. Not yet but soon.

"Before I awaken, I'm glad how this date went." You feel him gently caress your head.

"I hope I had complied with your wishes."

"It did. It's funny how nervous I was yesterday morning. Finally we go on a romantic date, and yet I was nervous about how it will turn out. When I should've known that time seems to pass by whenever we start talking."

"Your feelings were mutual. I have made so many mistakes trying to be closer to you. I feared that one of the nightmares might secretly interfere and ruin this. Only to realize that we share our desire for intimacy." You look up at him as you feel yourself finally awaken.

"Thank you for this Morpheus."

"Thank you. Enjoy your Sunday."

You awaken with a refreshed feeling and a smile on your face. The next date you two had was in the waking world this time it was your turn to show him around. The setting was still on what you would call as the wholesome intimate side. Which mainly was eating dinner at a restaurant then relaxing in your favorite café, or rather you were eating dark chocolate macademia cookies and every now and then you were sipping Moroccan Mint tea.

In between dates was your informal guidance of him and his thoughts. You made it a rule never to have them on the same day and to have one day at the very least in between them. Not only was this to balance out your new relationship but to also help build the foundation for a longer term relationship that would be viable beyond one lifetime.

He had become more involved with interacting with your domain. You would of course send him back to the Dreaming when you felt he needed to return to his work and not neglect the dreams of all. A task that hung around your head as you recall the consequences of his imprisonment by Burgess.

Eventually he had revealed that he had managed to create an alias for himself in order to continue your courtship in the waking world.

"You chose Rizmon as your last name?" You couldn't help but smirk at this as you view some of the legal documents he gave you to check.

"Is it too unusual?"

"No, but I'm wondering why you didn't just go with Oneiros or ēdrurys?"

"Oneiros might give me away. Ēdrurys sounds to fantastical to be real. Rizmon at least has some believability in both the spelling and its sound."

"For someone who is the embodiment of Dream I have to say this is pretty uncreative of you. Simply translating 'sand' in High Valyrian?"

"Not enough people know about High Valyrian yet and there is plausible deniability of it even then. Rizmon sounds similar to many real life last names such as Desmond."

"I'm rather impressed that you are able to have an occupation that coincides with what you actually do. Mr. Morpheus Rizmon, mysterious investor of the media production company 'Heightened minds'. Headquarters not too far away from a magical community hub and is accessible to mine and Emira's school. Are there actual people in this company or are they just some of your dreams and nightmares?"

"There are actual people involved, yes. It is mainly run by those in the magical community who wish to be involved in the entertainment industry. Mainly with content production such as books, articles, films, and other media that are consumed. Sam's family is the major investor of it as I'm sure he has told you. I just have this position as an excuse to have an occupation."

"Are you actually being paid though?"

"Technically it's paid to your bank account since I don't want to deal with such matter."

"...we might as well open a joint account just to be sure. Otherwise banks might think there is suspicious activity with my account."

"Very well, though it may not be necessary."

"I'd rather have things that I can explain rather than face the penalty of what I couldn't in court."

A question suddenly occurs to you.

"By any chance -?"

"From what I know we are still working on a collaboration with SB19."

"...I projected my question into you didn't I?" He chuckles softly before he fades away back into the dreaming as you make yourself lunch.

Each succeeding date you both had became less of a source of stress and more of a stress reliever for both of you. It almost reminded you of the times when either of you previously intentionally sought each other either in the Dreaming or in the waking world just for a chat.

"Is it odd that I feel how relieved that it is surprisingly familiar? It almost felt like any one of our ordinary meetings but now...now I'm more than aware of our mutual feelings for each other."

"No, it isn't." Death says as she takes a sip from her metal straw of the lemon iced tea you've made. You two were currently in the dining room of your apartment a few days after the Saturday night date.

"Maybe it's because I'm biased, but I was massively relieved when I heard that you two were finally going to be dating and this more than a millenia of mutual pining will finally be resolved."

"Hey - in my defense I didn't know it was mutual up until recently."

"The point is that whatever type of unresolved tension between the two of you is slowly being resolved. The fact that the two of you are now communicating more than ever is promising. As long as the two of you don't become complacent and continually work on your now romantic bond, then I don't see what's the problem." She gives you a knowing mischievous look as you find yourself smiling.

"I don't know if it's because we are currently on the honeymoon stage, but I am thankful that the familiarity in our relationship still allows me to argue with him and him actually rebutting me. I used to be more nervous that he would let any arguments we've had affect our relationship. But to my surprise, he understood that sometimes an argument is just an exchange of ideas."

"A sometimes passionate exchange of ideas."

"You're being weird he's your brother."

"I'm just teasing, I will be hard at work on my duties during times you two want to be intimate."

"Much appreciated dear sister." Morpheus appears to your side from the living area.

"Oh Dream, come to steal away my best friend?" Death says still in the same mischievous and lighthearted voice.

"You were informed before hand that I will be arriving in the early evening. It is no fault of mine that you've lost tract of time."

"Oh and this is the thanks I get for helping the two of you progress in your relationship."

"If by helping you mean persistently tell me to tell him my thoughts then thank you."

"And I'm off. Enjoy your first anniversary you two." She walks out the door leaving you alone with Morpheus.

"Shall we?"

"Let me just get my bag."

"You won't need to worry about anything. I have made some adequate preparations."

"Still, it never hurts to be prepared."

You are transported through his sand into what was clearly in a place opposite your time zone. You weren't sure if this was in the morning or the afternoon but the sun was still on the sky here.

"Where are we?"

"Look carefully." He whispers as he gently turns you around and you see a beautiful yet homely Inn. It was only when you saw the road sign and some familiar landmarks that you finally realize where you were.

"The Inn where I stayed in?! When you were still captured?!"

"It was renovated under new ownership. I managed to get us a private room with a view for a day and an evening."

"So that's why you wanted to make sure that I was both alone and had no prior engagement."

"And that no one wouldn't miss you for a while. Or not beyond reasonable."

"I hope you paid them or at least that you have generously compensated them."

"Worry not. I have paid them in advance using my one of my aliases here."

"Then as long as they are generously compensated I can allow myself to relax."

He leads you to a room in the second floor. Not quite the same as the last time you were here. But given how you died in that lifetime, you were glad for that change.

You enter the room. It was a gorgeous yet intimate suite. The colors are light and they are complemented by bold lines that made the room dynamic but not losing its comfort and intimacy. There was a window bed by the window large enough for one person to sleep in or to serve as a couch. The bed was made of understated but luxurious fabric. Genuine silk for the sheets underneath and the duvet is made of velvet.

"I need to ask, of all the places you could've brought me...why here?"

"It was here that my creation was responsible for your death. And to some degree I felt I too was indirectly responsible for it. I am aware now that such line of thinking if uncontrolled would only lead to more unnecessary pain. And so I felt that I should take you here on our anniversary to make new memories to replace the ones that lead to pain."

You take a seat on the window bed and he rolls the dining table on front of you as he takes a seat across you.

"I guess we have Jessamy to thank for where we are now. She always thought we were eventually going to be a couple. It used to annoy me since I thought you didn't reciprocate my feelings."

"Reminiscing now, perhaps had I been more honest of my own...or my awareness of your feelings, perhaps things may have been different."

"Probably. But a part of me is glad of our rather tumultuous journey here. We both needed help changing. And maybe the fates have seen that this was the best outcome for us."

"Don't mention the three at this time. They have done a lot." You could tell by his tone that he was teasing. Had it been anyone else they may not have recognized it as teasing at all.

"Well they have their own design and are privy more than any of us to the contents of Destiny's book. I still have yet to understand the relationship of those three with him."

"I've learned that there are some things that are best not to inquire. If we were meant to know then the Universe itself would've allowed us such knowledge."

He stands up and gets a bottle of pink champagne from the ice bucket and disposed of the now melted ice from two champagne flutes.

"I remember my own encounter with your former partner Sam." You raise an eyebrow at this as you slice yourself a slice of the apple pie.

"Oh? What did he say?"

"In essence that he would find some way to hurt me if I ever intentionally harmed you. He doesn't care that I am the embodiment of dreams. He cares deeply for you, which at first I was uncertain if it would affect our relationship." He hands you one of the flutes as he clears away the empty plates into a dining tray for dish washing.

"But then?"

"Then I saw him move on with another. And yet I could tell by his dreams that you still hold a deep platonic place in his heart."

"I'm not surprised, we mistook our deep bond for something romantic when it turns out we were just scared of never experiencing it in our lifetimes that we tried to turn our friendship into something else forcefully."

"It was then that I felt relief. And yet I was ashamed momentarily for feeling uncertain about my place with you when I know that if someone else has caught your eye, you would tell me." You reach for his hand across the table as you feel the otherworldly energy on his fingers play with the flow of your own fingertips. The spark that had only dimmed but never left.

"Feelings and thoughts are just that feelings or thoughts. Not all of them define who you are but rather what you do with them."

"And with your help I have improved on managing that." His thumb brushes along your skin. It was so gentle that there was no room to hide the spark of energy that he was stimulating you with.

"None of us are perfect. All we could do is to continue to improve and adapt to whatever changes may happen." You see the love in his eyes, relief, joy, pain, despair, faith, hope among other things that love reaches. Some say that love has no place in dreams. To a certain degree there was truth in that. Love is a verb, a need to act. Love has no place in dreams because to love is to act. And to truly love, it cannot take place in dreams or in the dreaming alone.

Love encompasses all of the Endless.

He takes your hand and guides you to stand.

"I have something for you." He takes a black corded necklace with his sigil as a pendant.

Oh my

Oh the fates

OH THE UNIVERSE.

"Morpheus" Your eyes start tearing up with tears of joy.

"Life, the beautiful anomaly of the universe...will you take me as your spouse and consort? A year by human standards may be too fast. But I have never felt more certain. I will wait till you are ready to marry. For you are worth the wait to become my Queen. I know not what the future holds, but I want to face it with you by my side." The significance of the gift was not lost on you.

With his sigil around your neck you wouldn't need the gallery to call him. It would create a bond stronger than any of the other Endless. With his helm against your skin...the intimacy it implied...the responsibility you would have as consort to the Dreaming in addition to your own responsibilities of the Endless...

And that he was not in a rush and would wait for you to be ready to formally marry.

"Yes." And before you knew it your eyes were closed, you were in his embrace, and your lips were against his. It was slow, sensual, both of you savoring the moment of your commitment to each other.

He releases your lips to let you breathe while he rests his forehead against yours. Your eyes meet and his expression mirrors yours. One filled with joy and hope.

"I can't believe it."

"Then allow me to place it on your person." You put your finger against his lips. A sign to let you speak.

"I can't believe that we had the same idea." You chuckle as you see the surprise on his face as you bring out a pouch from your handbag. In the small pouch was something worth more to you than all other types of rings that existed in this world. Two months before this day you found a metal rose ring from a jewelry store. You bought it and had since been giving some of your power to the ring with the hopes of giving it to Morpheus tonight.

You knew he was ready to commit when in your recent formal guidance sessions he not only actively sought help from you but also from Nadia. You were there as he made his confessions to her as you stood by for moral support. You knew he was ready when he wasn't afraid to tell you of his insecurities and was ready to be vulnerable around you.

You knew you were ready when you placed necessary boundaries to have time for yourself. You knew you were ready when you find yourself no longer thinking that the risks of being with him would be the only outcome of what a marriage with him could be.

You knew you were ready when you found yourself filled with hope among the doubts and insecurities you had, and will have.

You just felt ready. No words could truly describe how you know. Language just became so insufficient.

You lift the ring from the pouch.

"This seems redundant now but I'm not taking any chances." His expression is still one of disbelief.

"Dream of the Endless, would you be my spouse and consort?"

"Yes."

Once again his lips were on yours. Both of you deepening the kiss as he guides you to the bed. You two part as you both take a seat at the edge.

"I believe we should have our own little game to properly exchange our sigils."

"Let me make sure we are uninterrupted first." He takes all the dirty plates in the same tray and pulls the cord summoning a bell boy to take it to the dish washer. Afterwards he pours the Pink Champagne to the flutes and hands one to you.

"To our engagement."

Glasses clink as the two of you share a drink. You felt pleasure in your mouth as the bubbles tickle their way down in your throat. The empty flutes are then placed on the dining room.

"Should I start or you?"

"Allow me beloved."

You turn around as he unclasps the necklace.

You feel the power in his sigil as it settles on the area just above your cleavage area. Your senses were heightened as you could still feel his breath by your ear and his fingertips on your nape.

Now it was your turn.

You turn to face him as you lift his non-dominant hand.

"Which finger would you like me to place it on?"

"The ring finger would do." You straighten your back as you take his hand.

"I Life Incarnate, bestow my power upon this sigil worn by my consort, Dream of the Endless. He shall share in my responsibilities to the Waking world and to life. I surrender to him what is mine, for our partnership to each other, to the realm, and to the Universe. Till the end of time."

You slip the ring on his finger, and you could feel him sense the power now radiating from your sigil on his hand.

The two of you spent the rest of the time celebrating before he carried you back into your apartment.

You couldn't help but offer your gratitude to the Universe as you lay your head on his shoulder as the sun rises from your window.

It's the rise of a new era.

"You all know the rest." You say as you take a sip of ambrosia gifted to you by Calliope.

"Wow - so you and father being a couple is a new thing?" Knowledge, your son, the middle child and older twin of his brother Imagination says in disbelief.

"How could-How could you not have told each other that you loved each other?"

"Sensuality dear, have you met your father?" You laugh as she still has her jaw dropped open in disbelief. Your second child however was still in disbelief at your story.

"You know what" Connectivity the youngest says as she begins to stand up from the picnic blanket.

"That actually explains why Uncle Destruction and Aunty Death likes teasing father and being overly dramatic that it took him more than a millennia just to confess to mo -Ah"

"CONNECTIVITY!" Vitality, your eldest child and near carbon copy of your recent physical form was able to catch Connectivity before she fell over on her back.

"Be careful sister, you just died in your human lifetime. It takes awhile to get used to our intangible forms."

"I thought it was supposed to be easier? Especially here in the Dreaming."

"Hahahaha easy she says. I don't know about all of you, I was able to settle in pretty quickly."

"Oh shut up Imagination, nobody wants you bragging how you are a natural at it."

"Sensuality, he's the personification of Imagination what else did you expect from my twin?"

"Children." They all calm down with you uttering just one word.

"Vitality dear, how was your meeting with Destiny?"

"He just gave me a brief background of the experiment bestowed upon him by his book. He says I could still take my time thinking if I should accept it since the 'canon' events that lead up to the historical version of the Dance of Dragons are still currently happening. I won't be needed until about 50 to 100 years yet."

"In the meantime she'll be here with us. Practicing and honing your powers as you build your own realms." Morpheus says as he sits beside you and you lean your head on his shoulder.

"Wait dad - how did you punish Mark Gal Lanes for what he did to mom?"

"Well Connectivity, you could say both your mother and I played a part here in the dreaming. For a period of time, he was only ever a snake in his dreams. That was the only choice I left him."

"And then I was in the form of a King Cobra. I think you can guess what happens next."

"Oh OH." Knowledge's eyes widen in both horror and astonishment.

"MOM YOU ATE HIM!" Sensuality couldn't help but scream out her shock.

"Well I treated him as a toy first then I ate him as slowly as I can so he will feel himself being digested by me."

"And this happened for how long?"

"About three weeks, Vitality. I considered making a permanent nightmare version of your mother's King Cobra form but then your Aunt, Death says that his time was near and that I and your mother have made our point and received our revenge."

As your children gather around the two of you with your head on his shoulder and his arm placing you in his embrace. You couldn't help but feel satisfied. It turns out as a consequence of being a consort to the realm of the Dreaming, another change entered your life. Instead of only constantly being in the Waking World, you were allowed more freedom to choose when you wanted to re-enter your domain in a mortal form. It was refreshing being in your immortal form for longer than a few years or decades. It was nice having a break, even if it's only just briefly.

Yes, you were satisfied indeed.

Hey I adore your artwork! As a NiGHTS and Balan Wonderland fan it's great to have someone on Tumblr who represents us in a positive light. I keep seeing references to characters named Amity and such. Are these OC's of yours, what do they do?

Surprisingly there are a lot of us! It's just sometimes hard to see it when there's been so much negativity surrounding BWW, but hey, there's enough of us who genuinely enjoy it to keep it going strong!

Amity, Ambi, Versi, Phantasma And Magoria (and more, though currently unnamed) are all ocs of mine I've created! They're usually results of crossover AU pairings I play around with which fall under various titles. Ambi, Versi, Phantasma and Magoria all come from a timeline I've dubbed the Lavender Gold AU (a reference to the colour schemes of Balan and NiGHTS -the main pairing). Amity comes from something called the Broken Mirror AU -formerly called the Broken Crown AU, and features Balan and Reala as a main pair (NiGHTS x Lance also happens in this one).

I MAY put this under the cut cause it's going to be a bit long, but I'll try to keep the character profiles relatively short (Ive been needing a post that puts all of them together anyway). So, if you want to check it out, feel free to take a look!

Ambivé (Ambi for short) is the firstborn between NiGHTS and Balan! She was kind of an accident that happened due to an intense spark of wild magic between the two, and she's basically a lil gremlin harbinger of chaos. She's wild, hilarious and is usually finding new ways to drag everyone around her into hair-brained schemes. For a while, she struggles with feeling as though she's not good enough to take over for Balan someday -because let's face it, he casts an enormous shadow and that comes with many expectations. She struggles with feeling as though Balan doesn't quite give her a chance, and that he's too scared of her messing up (like he has a few times in the past, which still haunt him). She ends up proving herself of course, and after a while she discovers she doesn't actually want Balan's role! Instead she leaves the theatre to set out on her own, and develop a gateway to Wonderworld that acts as a traveling circus!

Versi (short for Version) is Ambi's counterpart, and an adopted child of Lance! They came to the theatre as a child who had escaped a horrific home life, one of the worst Balan and Lance had ever seen. After their parent mode was majorly activated, Lance decided then and there that they would not allow the child to return to where they came from if it meant they would be placed in more danger, so Lance basically adopted them! Wonderworld also chose to bind Ambi and Versi together as counterparts, so Versi actually goes on to help run the circus with Ambi as her negative balance (and is often roped into her dumbassery). They're mostly mute, and often use sign language to communicate. In the circus their acts usually comprise of the darker, grittier stuff like contortionism, sword swallowing, fire and practical magic elements.

Phantasma and Magoria are the twins and second children to Balan and NiGHTS, and they come about when Ambi is around 18-19 and is becoming far more independent. Basically, Balan and NiGHTS aren't ready for the nest to be empty! The twins are even more adept at using practical jokes to their advantage and will terrorise everyone in a 50ft radius, they also speak in rhymes and riddles and attempt to confuse people by switching places all the time. I don't have a lot to them yet, aside from the fact they are the ones who will eventually succeed Balan's role (since Ambi decided she didn't want to do so). They are also, curiously, more Positi than anything, and they're the highest class of Positi Balan has ever created -hence why their ideya look like drops! They also have peculiar abilities with switching roles on command, and can change themselves from Positi to Negati at the drop of a (literal, I suppose) hat. It worries Balan a bit, because he fears his negative side a lot, and yet these two dip in and out of it like it's nothing.

FINALLY, there's Amity. They are the child between Balan and Reala, in the completely separate timeline called the broken crown/mirror AU. It took Balan and Reala a long time to reach the point of wanting kids, but they are their parent's pride and joy. Amity is a little intimidating when people first meet them, they're even liable to sometimes scare visitors at first! But they're a huge sweetheart, and they dedicate themselves to helping people just like Balan does. They can traverse mirrors, and this is often how they'll call upon visitors and summon them to the theatre! They primarily choose people based on problems to do with identity, self confidence, dysphoria and basically those who are struggling with feeling good about themselves. However, they struggle with their own sense of identity in the fact they don't quite feel connected to either side of themself -Maestro or Nightmaren.

There is also a LiGHTS kid in development but I don't have a name for them yet, all I have to their character is that they're strange and kind of off-putting and they hardly ever seem to blink lol

who the heck is my muse anyway?

Yozora is the main protagonist of the fictional video game ‘Verum Rex’, as seen in the Toy Box world of Kingdom Hearts 3. He then made his debut in the Kingdom Hearts 3 secret ending, named after Yozora himself, as a canon character in the KH universe. We have seen all but two minutes of Yozora, and he currently does not have any speaking lines: thus this blog is solely built on my own headcanons and meta, including the universe in which he resides, Replica Earth. You can read more about Yozora’s world here.

Born into poverty, Yozora had a bleak upbringing. In a bid to earn more coin, Yozora was sold off by his mother to a medical research group: who strived to ‘improve humanity’. This medical research group, was in fact, the robotics consortium known as Gigas Corporation: the company known for producing the Gigas robots that helped to construct Replica Earth. Under the covert trial ‘Project Night Sky’, the young Yozora was subject to gruesome experimentation... An operation that replaced his human heart, with the heart of a Gigas unit: an astral core, that harnessed the power of the stars. He was one of many children to undergo the procedure... and the only one to survive.

A success to the scheme, Yozora was hailed the ‘Verum Rex’ (True King) of humanity: and was prophesied by Gigas Corporation to lead humanity to a new age. After discovering that Gigas Corp were murdering ‘lesser humans’-- those who could not sustain the power of the stars-- Yozora severed his ties. He fled the corporation, along with his two best friends, and the ‘Verum Regina’ whom was intended to rule beside him. His victory, however, was short lived: his queen was recaptured, and Gigas Corp were swiftly moving towards their next goal. Project Night Sky Phase 2. Declaring war against Gigas Corporation, Yozora vows to put an end to their tyranny, and to free the victims of their reign.

Whether it be a side effect of the experimentation all those years ago, Yozora had recently begun to see the ‘Watchmen of Fate’-- ghostly spectres haunt his form-- along with the true identity of his home realm. Replica Earth was in fact a netherrealm: the graveyard of worlds, where lost souls would find solace... until their reincarnation. It would appear that Gigas Corp had discovered the truth of their world, and had ‘created’ Yozora in an effort to achieve immortality and divine rule over the multiverse. Yozora was more than just a king... he was the god of death. Whilst he had abandoned his regal title, it was only after discovering the volatility of the multiverse, that Yozora decides to save it. To maintain the order of the universe, Yozora must uphold the cycle of reincarnation. Reaping souls... and leading them towards the light.

Yozora is NOT the Master of Masters, Sora, Riku, Noctis or a fusion of any of these characters. A popular fan theory claims that Yozora is a future version of Sora/Riku/MoM, or is the Nobody of Noctis, but that is not the case here. He is his own entity.

My portrayal of Yozora is not exclusive to the Kingdom Hearts universe. Many make the assumption that Yozora is heavily tied to the Kingdom Hearts universe, but that’s not the case! Yozora’s kingdom is the ‘underworld’ of all worlds and universes: where all souls find purgatory before moving onto their next life. Yozora is extremely crossover friendly.

what he’s been up to:

Main verse: From human, to cyborg, to king... Yozora had only recently acknowledged his wider role in the universe as the god of death. He is still learning about his divine purpose, and how Gigas Corporation are contributing to the destruction of the multiverse. Amid the ongoing war with Gigas Corporation, Yozora works in the shadows to uncover the truth of the universe before Gigas Corp.

where to find him:

Tokyo, Replica Earth: One of the thirteen Arks of the Replica Earth space colony, this is Yozora’s home. Replica Tokyo also functions as the ‘Realm of Lost Souls’: where the deceased from other universes are brought to rest. A fugitive of Gigas Corporation, Yozora has multiple bases: one being the city’s ‘Underground’: a network of black markets nestled within Replica Earth’s subway system.

Literally any realm: With the ability to cross dimensions, thanks to his astral crossbow, Yozora occasionally traverses up the celestial ladder in search of answers. However, the distance he can travel away from his home realm is limited, for he is tethered to the starlight harnessed directly from Replica Earth (and more specifically, the Verum Regina that remains in Gigas Corporation’s captivity). Should Yozora find a sustainable substitute-- a mortal with a strong hold of their fate (and thus, an affinity to the stars)-- Yozora will be able to forego returning to his home realm.

current plans:

Take down Gigas Corporation: Yozora aims to put an end to Gigas Corporation’s tyranny. Through taking down Gigas Corp, Yozora will save all the new victims of Project Night Sky Phase 2, as well as rescue his significant other.

Find the truth of the universe / his existence: Serving as the King of Death, Yozora traverses the multiverse reaping souls and sustaining the natural order of the cosmos. All in all, he is still trying to understand his purpose, and the intentions of the ‘Watchmen of Fate’ that haunt him.

Verum Rex muses / muses with Verum Rex verses! As much as I loved building Yozora’s world, it’s twice as fun to build it with other roleplayers! Whether it be ‘canon’ Verum Rex muses, or existing muses with Verum Rex verses, I would love to involve you all in the little universe I’ve created for Yozora~ ;v;

Partners in crime: the Reapers of the galaxy! Yozora has largely been working alone in guiding lost souls to his home realm... it would be amazing if he could recruit a whole team of reapers to help him sustain universal order. This is by no means a sinister role (though if your muses prefer violent death, Yozora won’t judge!) It would be similar in function to a roadtrip au, where the Reapers travel with Yozora and engage in all sorts of shenanigans. With Yozora being the king, the Reapers would also become his ‘knights’... and I hoping to build a ‘Knights of the Round Table’ with those that agree to help him ;v;

things that bother me:

Yozora being perceived as looking like Sora. I can accept Yozora being mistaken for Riku and Noctis... but not Sora. They are different heights, ages, and have completely different hairstyles/hair colours. That’s one piece of canon that I strongly reject. If it happens in a thread, Yozora will ignore it.

Yozora being assumed to be Sora/Riku or their son. Thankfully it hasn’t happened yet, but please do not approach Yozora as if he’s Sora, Riku, their fusion, or their son. I can accept that he looks like Riku, but Yozora is his own entity.

for the fanfiction virgin (part one, the basics)

Hello, young one. Welcome to one of the most integral parts of fandom, the weird, wonderful, often terrifying world of fanfiction (also called fics, fanfic, ff, etc., etc.). Perhaps you are unhappy with the way your favorite book/tv show/movie turned out, perhaps you loved it so much you want more and you want it right now. Perhaps you aren’t a fanfiction virgin at all and are just reading this for the nostalgia. Either way, let’s get started.

SITES

The main three websites you will use will be the following:

1. Archive of Our Own (AO3 if you’re in the know, which you will be after reading this post). This is the “cool” website, newer and more efficient that either of the other two sites I will list here. AO3 is easy to use, chock-full of content, and most importantly, the homeland of most of the weirdest shit out there. One of the benefits of this site is that you can easily find things without a link from another person, and can easily discover new fics on your own.

2. Fanfiction.net (also called ff.net). This site is more vintage than AO3, and is a son of a bitch to navigate. However, ff.net is useful because about three quarters of the fanfiction classics (to be mentioned later) are posted here. Often, you will end up reading fics on these by going through a fic rec blog (also to be mentioned later). Fanfiction.net often has older, longer fics than AO3.

3. Right here on tumblr! Many of the lovely people of tumblr post their fics straight to their blogs. Tumblr fics are often short, prompt-based, and cross-posted on another site.

There are other fanfiction sites, such as livejournal (super vintage) and other fandom-by-fandom sites. These I will not go into great detail about because a) there are too many to name, and b) most of them are so old that they either don’t work anymore or don’t have any fics less than ten years old on them. These are mainly found in the Harry Potter fandom, mostly because the HP fandom is the oldest and largest major fandom.

TERMINOLOGY

One shot: a story that is one chapter. This works the same way for two-shots and three-shots.

Multi-chap: a story that is multiple chapters. Not complicated, folks.

Smut: a story that is *not for the eyes of children*. If you are new at this, chances are you are under the age of fourteen and should stay away from any story tagged smut. See below for rating.

Rating: how a story is rated, much like with movies

- G, K, K+: General Audiences. Probably safe for anyone to read. Movie equivalent of G or PG.

-T: Teen and Up Audiences: Usually includes kissing, mild language and violence. Also often includes “fade to black” scenes in regards to sex. Chances are, if you made it through the book or movie, you’ll be okay.

-M: Mature Audiences. 90% OF THESE FICS ARE RATED FOR SEX. Be warned. The other ten percent have hard language and/or gory violence.

-E: Explicit. 100% OF THESE FICS ARE RATED FOR GRAPHIC SEX. There will be dicks in these stories. Do not say I didn’t warn you. This. Is. Porn.

Note that the ratings for fics are determined by the author, and their idea of a mature story might be different than yours. If you are a person who is sensitive about coarse language, stick to the G rated stuff, as even T rated fics usually contain strong language. Tumblr fics do not usually have a rating.

OC: this is an original character. Rarely do you find a good one.

OOC: out of character, which means the author completely decided to ignore how an actual character looks/acts/is named. OOC characters are essentially OCs that have a slim basis in an actual story.

Canon: the actual work that the fandom is based on. For example, the canon for the HP fandom is the book series Harry Potter. This is a useful term in distinguishing what actually happened vs what fanfic writers made up.

Headcanon: otherwise known as a fan theory. Usually little blurbs that are not explicitly mentioned in canon but there is no reason that they can’t be true. Some headcanons have become so normalized that the fandom accepts them as canon. Example, people were saying Dumbledore was gay long before JK Rowling confirmed it.

Crossover: Fanfiction written as a part of two different fandoms. Enough said.

Ship: the basis of fandom. A pairing of two characters that people really really really want to get together. A major portion of fanfiction is dedicated to gay ships both possible and impossible. Gay ships are the foundation of any fandom. That isn’t to say you can’t find straight fanfiction, just that you might have to look harder for the good stuff.

Fluff: tooth-rotting, sweet, I-love-you-honeybear, fanfiction. I can’t write it, I can’t read it, but most people like it. I am just mean.

Angst: the anti-fluff. As you may have guessed, depression, job loss, sexual confusion and violence are all usually par for the course when it comes to angst. I love it. I love it so much.

Classic: a fanfiction that has been around in a fandom for so long that it is basically required reading. People will judge you if you haven’t read the classics of your ship. Sometimes there are fanfictions of the classic fanfictions. So, you, fanfiction virgin, need to start there.

And finally:

AU: alternate universe fanfiction. We’ll talk later about the many different types of AU, mostly because AUs are where things start to get weird.

FANFICTION ETTIQUETTE

1. This is the most important rule of fanfiction: if you like a fic, let the author know. On AO3, the easiest way to do this is by leaving kudos. The kudos button is located at the end of a fic or chapter, and you don’t even need to have an account to leave them. On both AO3 and ff.net, comments/reviews can be left. These are even better than kudos and make an author’s day. On tumblr, like and reblog. Doing these things is so important, because it helps an author’s work get read.

2. Sigh. This is going to sound so mean.

If you are new, please don’t start writing just yet. Chances are, you don’t know what the hell you are doing. Read, see how fanfiction writing works, and then you can start writing. It’s different than writing a paper for your English class. If you have an idea, write it down and revisit it later, or write and don’t post just yet. Also, I’m going to do a little self promo for part 3.

3. Don’t correct people’s grammar in the comments. Yeah, their grammar sucks, but no one needs to hear you bitching about it.

CONCLUSIONS

This is where I’m going to end part one, because I have realized that the AU section is going to be long enough to warrant its own post.

Also, if you are not new to fanfiction and are just reading this for the nostalgia, reblog this post along with a fanfiction that is considered a classic in your fandom. Include fandom name and title (and link, if you have one). Help the newbies out! If we get enough I may just find the energy to compile a list later on. We’ll see.

Anime Summer 2019 Final Impressions + Plans for Fall

Summer sure was the hottest season of the year yet, it was an extremely unbearable hell, but that aside, there were lots of things this season, had some really sweet vacations, I’m back on school studying fine arts, and of course, all the good anime shows I watched.

Though, I must say, Fridays this season were my least favorite because they’re so packed with a lot of shows to watch, things get a lot worse when I have school now and I wouldn’t even have the time to watch everything after arriving at home at 3 PM.

Now that the Summer season is coming to a close, we’re finally moving on to Fall and the upcoming lineup is definitely the hottest yet, and most importantly: My birthday is this Friday, October 4th, and I’m going to become 20 years old, so I hope y’all don’t disappoint me with the birthday messages and potential surprises (which I’m always looking for ;-;).

Since it’s my 20th birthday, it’s a big milestone for me and I hope I get to activate my moral superiority, and if I see any of you whiny crybabies say some negative shit about things I really hold dear the most in my life, you’re gonna be hella sorry. 🙂💢

Ahem, excuse my weird behavior right there. Anyways, before we talk more about my birthday presents and everything, let’s talk about the shows I watched this Summer!

WARNING: This post contains spoilers for “Granbelm.” (About time I had discussed something with spoilers, it’s been forever)

1.- Girls’ Frontline Healing Chapter: This is the anime I’ve been dying to watch and it finally came out... albeit with a little surprise: It’s in full Chinese! Dub and all!

I guess it makes sense they released it on full Chinese on BiliBili (Think of it as China’s equivalent of NicoNico or something) because it’s a Chinese game, but even Azur Lane, which it’s a Chinese game too, is huge in Japan now (Sorry Kancolle, you have sunk) that its upcoming anime is a full-fledged 30 minute TV series on national Japanese TV. But even so, the Chinese dub so far is relatively fine.

The series has even spawned two Grand Theft Auto dubbed parodies (1, 2) and they lead me to create my own parody using Team Fortress 2 sound clips, there should be more parodies like these!

Anyways, the wait for this series has absolutely been worth it and can’t wait to watch the Japanese dub!

10/10 - Rank: S++ - 100%

2.- The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II: All I can think of this series is: This is the perfect definition of a Nasuverse with multiverse and different incarnations of some characters a la comic books, (By that I mean there’s characters from Fate/Apocrypha like Caules and Flat, for example. All within the realm of the Stay Night/Zero continuity (?)) having some MCU-styled worldbuilding or something. (Okay, maybe I’m going too far with these childish meaningless comparisons, it’s just that I want the Nasuverse to be something other than standalone universe after standalone universe)

Now, me personally, having never read the novels, I did enjoy the series as it is, but it does get somewhat problematic that the first half is anime original while the second half is adapted from the novels for non-readers. It’s really weird how they decided to make the series half anime original half adaptation. This is beyond for me to call it “Semi-original” (I usually use this term for anime series based on intellectual properties but have a completely original storyline, such as Danganronpa 3 and Katsugeki Touken Ranbu).

Here’s a helpful timeline made by Karoshi to help you where the anime fits within the Case Files LN series.

Moving on, the animation is really great, the opening is awesome and with the instrumental only theme, it feels as if I’m watching a Netflix or HBO show, which is really neat. TROYCA did a good job on the visuals, the actions scenes and everything, they’re replicating the Ufotable style nicely.

Everyone must be like “A breath of fresh air after the fuckery we had with Fate/Apocrypha and Fate/Extra Last Encore” or 4chan people still hating on Case Files, sure, but I won’t really acknowledge it because I don’t care about Apocrypha and Last Encore anymore, but I will always defend them no matter what. I may have not read the Apocrypha LNs but there’s no reason to call the anime crap for no reason, and with Last Encore, I have played the original Fate/Extra game and while I was surprised and mad that it was a completely different story, in the end, the story is still close to the game and it’s an interesting alternate take on the Fate/Extra story. You can’t convince me otherwise, so get out of my sight, please.

I really hope this is the last time I rant about recent adaptations of different Fate series, because for me, Fate is a franchise that shouldn’t be disserviced on something like this, not even from the most dedicated Fate or general Type-Moon fans. (except the 2006 series because it aged like crap; Same with the MCU and other big franchises, inb4 Karoshi and everyone else crucifies me for stupid statements like these. Except Karoshi flat out told me he doesn’t use Tumblr at all to even read this post, so I’m glad)

Case Files may be over, but there’s another Fate series coming out this Saturday...

9/10 - 93% - Rank: A++

3.- Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru: Having dropped out of the gym days prior, I immediately felt bad for doing so and watching the series made my desire to go back to the gym grow even more, though I don’t think I would have liked to given that I have school now and wouldn’t have time to have my break at all. At least the series did show exercises I can do at home. Even if I spent 1 year at the gym, I still have a fat belly despite having a decently fit body. Somebody help me. ;_;

I just realized I’m more like Hibiki, she works out but then she still eats a lot of fat afterwards. 😅

I’d definitely recommend this show for people who want to workout either at the gym or occasionally at home. This has some pretty good fan service, comedy and over-the-top muscles galore.

8.5/10 - 87% - Rank: A+

4.- Danmachi S2: I wasn’t fond of the beginning arc in a sense I didn’t want to see Bell suffer, but then the next arc is just way better (Not gonna lie, I’d really love to go in the City of Lust with the Ishtar Familia. 🤤)

After One-Punch Man 2 and even Okaa-san Online, Danmachi is and continues to look one of the better looking anime I’ve recently watched. There’s a bit of weird quality errors here and there, but overall, the visuals still look impressive. Hell, even the opening looks amazing (though Case Files beat it as the best looking opening of the season).

After the series ended, a new OVA AND season 3 got announced for 2020. I’m glad I won’t have to wait for another 2 or 4 years. For 2 years, I would have to get a new season of Sword Oratoria like in 2017, but Sword Oratoria is rather forgettable, so I’m sticking with the base series, instead. Anyways, looking forward for more Danmachi next year.

8/10 - 84% - Rank: A

5.- Fire Force: Even though I never saw Soul Eater, but even so, this series is interesting, it had a strong start but the last few episodes, the animation has been TERRIBLE. The way the characters move, the flow and everything is just god damn slow.

It’s a damn shame how David Production of all studios is getting a troublesome series with decaying animation quality or something. Even JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Cells at Work had decaying qualities or something.

Since this is a two-cour series (for the better or for worse), I hope the animation would get better, but if it continues to be the way it is, I don’t really know what to say, and maybe David Production shouldn’t have picked this series up in the first place, Bones should have adapted Fire Force so it can give Soul Eater vibes, but I guess they were too busy with Mob Psycho 100 and My Hero Academia. Even so, the series still had some decent moments.

One thing worth pointing out is that the ending theme, veil by Keina Suda, reminded me of the song シャルル... But then I discovered that シャルル was made by Keina Suda too, that took me by surprise.

7.5/10 - 75% - Rank: B

6.- Tejina Sempai: I wasn’t much convinced on wanting to see the series before it came out, but when I’ve seen crossover fan arts with the titual character and Hotaru Shidare from Dagashi Kashi, even pKjd’s tweet about it, got me interested, I saw the first episode and I loved it, I had laughed a lot on it, but like on the second half of the show, the series has kinda lost me and couldn’t even find it funny anymore, a little bit, but it wasn’t working out for me anymore.

Animation wise is a little decent, not as utterly poor but the showoverall is okay.

To add insult to injury, this is the one project artist Sky-Freedom has recently dedicated to make porn pictures on his Patreon and sell a doujin of it.

Long story short: Sky-Freedom was making a JK oneshota series on Patreon, but then on early July 2019, he was accused of plagiarism from another artist for one image (See here; and yes, I made this Twitter account to protest, but it didn’t work like I wanted), hence he cancelled the JK oneshota series and has since moved on making doujins of Azur Lane, and of course, Tejina Sempai.

Basically, an artist I’ve grown to hate has moved on to make porn of Tejina Sempai on his Patreon and a doujinshi. Sure, what he did about copying another artist and make money of it from Patreon was shitty, but since he won’t make that JK oneshota series anymore and can’t even care for his new stuff, hence why I hate him now (though not really because I’m still curious to know what he’s doing).

Sorry if I went a little bit off-topic, but this is the most important thing I wanted to address, something associated with Tejina Sempai, whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing.

7/10 - 71% - Rank: B-

7.- Okaa-san Online: This one I kinda have grown to have quite mixed feelings about this series.

In one hand, it recreates Pochi’s art style nicely but it doesn’t even come close, everything else is rather nice, but on the other hand, the poor animation kinda kills the interest and enjoyment of the series quite a bit. It seems like part of JC Staff has gotten worse in animation talent than One-Punch Man 2, but it certainly won’t top OPM2.

As for the story, writing and characters, there isn’t much for me to talk about, and it’s its nature to have characters with terrible puns as their names and such.

However, it does get a bit thought provoking about my relationship with my mom, but I wouldn’t like to get too personal about it (and it’s none of your business anyways).

The best girl of course is Mamako, not only she’s a genuinely good mother, someone I really shouldn’t fight so bad (I’m worse than her son, Masato), but also she’s a legit good MILF. 👌

Okay okay, let’s not get too perverted again as I briefly did at Danmachi with the Ishtar Familia arc or something and let’s just move on to the score.

Also, why would HorribleSubs refer this series as “Okaa-san Online”? It certainly has a long ass title, but calling it “Okaa-san Online”? Really?

After Okaa-san Online, can we please get an Ane Naru Mono anime but with a better studio, please? Maybe it could be a hentai based on the NSFW version or it could be a TV series based on the SFW version, either is fine but give me something, please!

6/10 - 63% - Rank: C-

8.- Granbelm: I was honestly feeling super mixed around the first few episodes, and at times I even felt like dropping this, but I never drop any anime I wasn’t feeling interested, but then the second half of the series has been getting me interested now, especially when the series gave me the best anime villains ever:

Anna Fugo: The “obsessed for power” type of villain with a terrific performance by Yoko Hikasa.

Suishou Hakamada: The “servant of the most powerful boss, but the boss sucks, so screw this!” type of villain with a mysterious background, with a voice ranging from calm but terrifying to extreme when she gets angry, provided by Aoi Yuuki. Around episode 12, here’s a surprising info bomb: Suishou out of the blue reveals that she participated and won every single Granbelm for a thousand years to become the Princeps or something.

Another con I have to mention is the weak sound design. When the fight scenes happen, the mechas flying, the strikes and everything sound really off, they don’t sound like loud engines blasting off or even metal clashing very strongly or something.

I must say, even if the story wasn’t the most convincing I’ve ever watched but it has some redeeming qualities like the villains, the animation was pretty good. Certainly doesn’t involve sakuga, but at least it was pretty decent.

6.5/10 - 67% - Rank: C+

Overall:

I know Okaa-san Online should have been last for the poor animation and my lower score, but Granbelm was always destined to be in that spot because I was the least interested at it.

I have a history of rigging my own scores, so I don’t make the rules.

Spring 2019 ongoing:

Fruits Basket: The first season has ended, and now we’re gonna get season 2 around 2020. I’m excited to see how the story goes. (And before you tell me to read the manga, I’ll pass and I’m gonna wait and see how will the adaptation goes)

Kimetsu no Yaiba: Episode 19 and with the series ended, might as well say this now but this is totally my Anime of the Year, no denying it. I’m glad it’s not the end for Kimetsu no Yaiba yet, there’s going to be a movie of the Infinite Train arc... inb4 it becomes another vaporware like the Katsugeki Touken Ranbu movie or, hell, even Girls’ Work, and things get worse with the tax fraud on Ufotable, if that’s anything to go by.

They still have Heaven’s Feel III coming out in 2020, so there’s a pretty good chance that Ufotable can still work it out with the Kimetsu no Yaiba if they can.

Not quite a mediocre anime to give it a D or even an E like the past two seasons, in my opinion. Now, it’s finally the time to talk about my anticipated anime not only for the entire season in general, but for my birthday as well!

Anticipated:

1.- Azur Lane The Animation - October 3rd: I’m a big avid player of Azur Lane and I seriously can’t wait for the anime to come out! I don’t care if people are gonna compare this with the Kancolle anime, if it’s gonna be good, bad or worse than the Kancolle anime, etc. I just want to watch it, please!

October 3rd is just PAINFULLY a day close to my birthday, but you know what? I’m gonna watch the first episode on day 1 and then rewatch it on my birthday so I can be satisfied.

With the latest trailers, the anime looks impressive, it seems like the character designs are relatively close to the diverse art styles from the characters, but it’s still mixed in with a uniformal art style like Kancolle’s or something. Still nowhere near Chronicle Chain-tier, but it’s something.

This is definitely the one anime I’m super anticipated to watch and can’t wait to watch it, even if it’s an early birthday gift!

2.- Girls’ Frontline Healing Chapter (Japanese Dub) - October 4th: Yes yes, the series already exists, albeit for Chinese audiences with Chinese dub and all and I just reviewed it, but hey, this is the Japanese dub we’re talking about and I was growing as desperate as I was to watch the series. As to how these news came to be, I was scrolling down my timeline and saw the Crunchyroll news post about the series, I was like “Yooo, the Japanese dub is finally coming out!”, I looked at the post, read through and at the bottom, I saw the broadcasts:

Tokyo MX: every Friday during the 25:00 time slot beginning on October 04, 2019.

BS11: every Saturday during the 20:55 time slot beginning on October 05, 2019.

Yep, you read that right: October 4th. This is my biggest surprise I’ve seen yet, and the road for my birthday (at the time of writing this, Sept. 25th) keeps getting better and better!

I actually had thought it was gonna come out on Fall but I expected on late October at best, to coincide with the Chinese release’s late July release, but I never thought they would definitely go for my birthday of all dates.

3.- High Score Girl - October 4th/16th: Every time I watch this show, I seriously cannot stop smiling for how good this is, and I’m glad it’s back for a second season as my birthday gift.

But what’s strange is that the first 3 episodes are going to be on my birthday while the rest of the series will be on October 16th onwards, it’s a little odd but hey, I get to see the first 3 episodes of my birthday, it’s definitely worth it.

4.- Blackfox - October 4th: I haven’t heard anything new about this lately and I genuinely lost interest on it because the fact that it’s a theatrical movie in Japan left me a sour taste in my mouth. Well, I would still see the film eventually in some way, whether the film would come out on Mexico or torrents from the Blu-Ray release, but at the same time, it’s just the usual “Japan getting an anime movie first and it’s going to take forever for it to come out on Mexico or won’t at all.”

That is until on September 27th, I was randomly reading the Wikipedia page for Blackfox and I noticed that, get this: Crunchyroll is going to stream the film on October 4th! My interest on Blackfox has regained!

With that said about Blackfox being a movie and coming out on Crunchyroll on October 4th, looks like I’m going to have two movies in one birthday, one of them being a certain mentally ill prince of crime clown. Given that I’m going to have all morning watching all these other anime that are coming out in my birthday, I don’t think I’ll be able to watch Blackfox too in favor of Joker.

5.- My Hero Academia season 4 - October 12th: I’m surprised that My Hero Academia took a long lap between seasons, maybe we all needed a break from MHA coming out in every Spring, especially when there was another Shonen Jump series, Kimetsu no Yaiba, and the competition would sure be hot, I think Kimetsu no Yaiba might have been suffocated with MHA or vice versa, who knows really.

Anyways, we’re finally getting into the Eri arc and boy, seeing this arc animated is gonna be intense.

6.- Fate/Grand Order: Babylonia - October 5th: I don’t really understand what’s the appeal with Babylonia (and Camelot) in comparison to the other storylines from FGO before Epic of Remnant and Cosmos in the Lostbelt. And I didn’t even bother to look at English translations or even videos or transcripts of the chapter released in the NA version. Now that it’s getting animated, I’ll have to wait and see because what I like the most of these adaptations is seeing the VN-like scenarios come to life, or pretty much any other media I like seeing being brought to life in general.

Some things I do have to compliment about the Babylonia anime is that they released episode 0 in the actual game (and at the same time, simulcasts were released which begs the question: How the fuck were they able to get an episode of the Babylonia anime straight from the game?), and, unlike Azur Lane which it’s another mobage with an anime coming out this Fall, it uses a uniformal art style and it tries to replicate the Takeuchi art style. Granblue Fantasy is an exception because it’s only one artist who does literally every single character ever.

7.- BEASTARS - October 8th: This is the next project from the studio that brought Houseki no Kuni, Orange. Looking forward to more of their CG greatness. (Sanzigen will always hold a special place in my heart, though)

8.- Tokunana - October 6th: I was randomly lurking on Yuuichiro Higashide’s (Fate/Apocrypha, Danganronpa 3, Date A Live Fragment: Date A Bullet writer) website and I saw “Tokunana”, I visited the website and it showed me the trailer first, it looked pretty interesting and for some reason I thought it was like an old series of sorts, but nope, it’s actually a new series.

The full English title is Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit, and given that I watch CSI, NCSI and Hawaii Five-0 very early in the mornings before I go to school, I’m definitely gonna get some vibes from these shows or something, and this show has a pretty stellar cast too.

9.- Granblue Fantasy: The Animation season 2 - October 4th: I genuinely had enjoyed the first season when it came out, the animation looked nice too, but now reading some reactions on the anime in general has given me a sour taste, I refuse to believe it’s bad or anything...

I’m surprised that they’re changing studios from A-1 to MAPPA, I wanted Cygames Pictures because supposedly they were supposed to make anime based on their properties themselves, why MAPPA of all studios?

Also, this is coming out in my birthday and I’m not sure if I asked for this, but I’ll take it.

10.- Psycho-Pass 3 - October 24th: With news about Psycho-Pass 3 flying around, I had to binge the series on my Spring break, and yes, even Psycho-Pass 2, everyone says that it sucks and whatnot, but for me honestly, it wasn’t even that offensively bad, it does suck that there wasn’t a lot of Kogami, but the storyline and everything wasn’t really that bad, at least the movie gave more Kogami, though. And speaking of familiar faces, it seems like only Shion and Sho are returning and this whole season has an all-new cast, I’m not sure how I feel about that.

Before Pscyho-Pass 3 comes out, I forgot there were the Sinners of the System film trilogy released earlier this year and I got to watch them all this past Sunday as of the publishing of this post. Speaking of the films, they were 1 hour each and I think they were a test on how will Psycho-Pass 3 work with 1-hour length.

The series will have 8 episodes consisting of 1 hour, I’m not really sure if I’m prepared for that, and now that I think about it, it’s going to feel like watching a Netflix show.

11.- Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle - October 7th: So a new PSO2 anime is apparently happening, but this time it seems like it’s definitely gonna be more serialized and actually taking place in the game’s universe, because the 2016 series had a lot of meta shit and it was just ridiculous, but even so, I loved it.

And that’s all of the anime I’m looking forward this Fall, don’t forget that my birthday is soon and I’m looking forward for your messages! I’m sure going to have a great time in my 20th birthday with Azur Lane, Girls’ Frontline, High Score Girl, Granblue Fantasy, Blackfox (if I have the time) The Blacklist (if I have the time) and Joker!

Froghorn was a constant nuisance in Ruby's life. But as soon as he disappeared she realized she'd rather him be about.

perfect Ruby characterization and some really hecking good bonding/character development. if you read nothing else on this list, at least check this one out.

She's already one of the most experienced agents in her agency, Spectrum, without even being an official one yet. She thinks she seen it all. But Ruby's entering a dangerous stage of life where she is vulnerable to many things, lots of things she knows nothing about. But Ruby is unduly worried about the years to come. She's a dauntless girl. But when things start to go wrong in her social life, her agent training in Spectrum and the return of an old foe start kicking off and suddenly, everything happens at once. And Ruby is faced with a choice. A dream job at a top secret spy agency with an astronomical pay, or a scrawny boy who doesn't believe in a dangerous life. Ruby Redfort, the choice is yours.

to my knowledge, the only completed longfic in the fandom so far. although it could do with a bit of editing, the quality is overall excellent and there’s some twists in there that even i wasn’t expecting. I especially loved the Ruby-Hitch dynamic and interactions in this one. If you’ve got a spare hour or two, I definitely recommend that you check it out!

“The Guardians want you, Ms Redfort,” says a station worker as Ruby stops her game of Rock paper scissors with Zen.

I can honestly say I’ve never heard of Railhead before, but was super cool nonetheless. it feels super surreal and the details were a+++- go check it out

Rosetta Redfort: Freefall [wattpad] by TeamSpectrum [multichapter, ongoing] background Clancy/Ruby

Ruby's daughter, Rosetta, discovers her secret-Spectrum. A conspiracy to steal a gem that will lead to a collapsing mountain and a giant flood. Will Rosetta crack like a diamond under pressure or will she stand strong?

an interesting take on a future-fic. might not be everyone’s cup of tea but i kind of liked it.

It's well known to the entirety of Spectrum not to go into the coding room after Hitch had returned from a mission. Everyone (Blacker) is distracted and more than once has an important agent (LB) walked in on two agents kissing.

Ruby doesn't know this rule.

They got to the cinema a lot earlier than either of the men expected. It was a clear night, the air felt crisp and clean and if they hadn’t booked Hitch would have just wanted to sit in the park and talk.

After making Larva, Ruby Redfort's career in espionage is sending her off the ground running. There's no time to sit at home, with Clancy (who might just have a crush on her), sipping on banana milk, watching Crazy Cops. Not when the Count is still out there, and not when the Silent G is just sitting there waiting for her to fail (or die).

A promising start, this fic looks quite interesting. It’s only got a few chapters so far but I’m definitely going to be following it closely

hell yeah, multi-chapter!! i really love how Ruby and Clancy bounce off each other so far, it feels super real. I’m honestly looking forward to reading more from this author. i haven’t felt this excited for a fic in a while

The phone finally picked up, Ruby knew it was still Clancy’s first few weeks at the desk of Buzz and he was getting a grip with the phone system but it really should be quicker.

This wonderful person wrote this for my birthday, so of course I freaking love it. it’s a great character study and just generally all-round a Good Thing- there was a coding segment midway through that I particularly enjoyed!!

The 100 Positivity: My Statement of Purpose

I’m sick of the antis. On both sides of the fandom. In society in general. I hate the way people tear things down, point out all the awfulness, just to make themselves look and feel superior.

So I come here, to tumblr and The 100 fandom, to enjoy a show that I think is great. It’s dark and it’s gritty, with great characters and engaging stories and it talks about some of the issues that are most important in my life.

I AM A FAN OF THE 100.

When I analyze it, I’m not coming at it to pick it apart, look for the flaws, point my finger at how it is “problematic” and therefore unworthy. What I am doing is trying to understand what is on the screen. I want to know how it fits together. I want to figure out why the characters made their choices, and what the writers are trying to say.

This doesn’t mean I ignore its flaws. But when I see something that is a flaw, I don’t wave it away as “bad writing,” I still try to figure out how it fits in to the story, or if it doesn’t at all. When it fits, then I have to say that it was intentional, even if I didn’t like it. When it doesn’t, I either let it go with suspension of disbelief, since nothing is perfect, or I let it sit and wait and see how they handle the rest of the show. As of yet, the sitting flaws have not damaged the long term story. It was close with 3A, but the writers, because they are actually good writers, pulled it out.

I’m not going brush off my confusion at the plot by saying it’s the writer’s fault, bad writing, racist, OOC, or discount everything that doesn’t fit my reading. I’m going to look at different possibilities, different interpretations, and different ideas to see if any of them make sense. Whenever something DOESN’T make sense, I pay it more attention. I have to work to figure out HOW it makes sense. While doing this, there are a few things that I have discovered about the long term narrative structure and large themes of The 100.

The 100 uses multiple literary, cinematic, mythological, psychological and social references. These can help us understand the story better. Dante’s Divine Comedyl. The Illiad and The Odyssey. Shakespeare. The Matrix. Lord of The Flies. Greek Myths. PTSD. If they mention a book or story, whether visually, in dialogue, or in the titles, I pay attention. If they mention it MORE than once (like Dante) then I am damn well going to start interpreting the story through that lens. And guess what? All of a sudden a lot of those plot holes and OOC characters are no longer plot holes or ooc and MAKE EVEN DEEPER SENSE.

The 100 has as one of it’s main themes that hate, xenophobia, and tribalism is what doomed humanity, and working together is what will save it. (This is why we see so many xenophobes, bigots, colonialists, white saviors, wars, genocides etc) I do NOT think The 100 is racist. I think it is talking about racism in its “post racial” fantasy world.

The 100 is creating characters based on psychological realism. This world is traumatized. Everyone is suffering from this trauma and their actions are based on real world mental struggles. This means that the characters do ugly things. Things that “a hero” wouldn’t do. But The 100 is also about fighting THROUGH the trauma to become stronger, and this is what a hero WOULD do. In fact, it’s what makes them heroes. So a lot of characters are going through these dark struggles in order to get to the other side and become the heroes we need them to be.

The 100 absolutely writes about dark stories. Dark love. Obsession. Power. Abuse. Megalomania. Free will. Failure. Destruction. To consider the stories in The 100 to be dark in nature is not at all inconsistent with the show. To consider good characters to be struggling with darkness is not unfair. To consider that a character might fall to their darkness or rise from it is consistent. There are no cupcakes. This is explicit. “Maybe there are no good guys.” All the characters MUST struggle against their monster and be responsible for it when they let it out. When your favorite character does something wrong, look at how they handle it. This is the true test of character. Not that they did the bad thing, but how they change from it. Much change and growth? Heroic character. Pretend they did nothing wrong at all? Uh oh. Keep an eye on it. They do however allow the dark characters to be redeemed. That is why I don’t write any characters off until I see what they do with their bad choices.

The science is crap. Do not poke the science. It won’t make sense. Let it go. It’s not actually a show about science. TV science fiction rarely is.

A lot of the criticism I see about The 100 is actually a misunderstanding of genre. And I get that it’s a crossover, and people who are not familiar with science fiction or post apocalyptic fiction are watching it, and they don’t get the rules that the genre follows, but much of what people are complaining about, (what was the recent accusation I heard? That it was torture porn?) is a failure to understand the type of story. Or the complaints about characters dying or suffering. It is built into the genre that this is going to happen. You don’t get to keep your representation safe from suffering or death, no one does. Also, the way the grounders are developed. There’s a bit of handwaving there, just like there is with the science. But again, it’s based on some accepted tropes of the genre. The loss of civilization, the return to tribalism and war, the mixture of cultures, the scavenging, even the wardrobe. It’s a pretty standard post apocalyptic setting. It’s like complaining because the heroine in a mass market romance is immediately drawn to hero. This is the genre.

THIS IS MY BIAS. I love this show. I do not think it’s badly written. I don’t think the heroes are villains. I don’t think anyone is out of character (except for Finn, I just can’t see around that.) I don’t think it’s racist. I would not watch it if I did. And I know what racist shows look like. I am simply not going to write anyone or anything off as “BAD” because they’re not perfect. I’m going to look at their flaws and see how it affects the story. I’m going to look at the darkness and see how it affects the meaning. If I come to the conclusion that one character is “good” and one character is “bad,” that is an interpretation. I did not start out that way and refuse to look at any complexity.

There is no such thing as unproblematic. There is no such thing as perfect. There is no way to please everyone.

I just want to enjoy this good show. And it is a good show. I am critical to understand, not to hate. I like the gray morality. I like the complexity. I like the characters. I even like the antagonists, and I’m gonna talk about them. If you’d like to do the same thing, then come along for the ride.

2016 in Review

I was tagged by the very talented @annaofaza and @hartwinorlose

Total Number of Stories Completed: On AO3 a total of 34 stories were completed, not including drabbles and such I posted strictly on tumblr.

Total Word Count: On Ao3, I wrote 285,808. JFC. And yet I can barely write 1k for any of my original stories. Lord help me.

Fandoms Written In: Kingsman and technically also Inception and Bridget Jones’s Diary due to crossovers, but really it’s just Kingsman.

Looking Back, Did You Expect To Write More Fic Than You Thought You Would This Year, Less, Or About What You’d Expected? I thought I’d write less. It was just supposed to be something I did until my drive and inspiration for my original work came back, and then it just kind of consumed my soul. *ugly crying*

What’s Your Own Favorite Story Of The Year? Probably A Court of Eggsy Unwin. I just love writing it. Every time I work on it I smile. It’s so much fun and it’s so easy for me to do. Plus it deals with TWO Harry Harts, so how can you not love it?

Did You Take Any Writing Risks This Year? Yes, I definitely pushed myself to write more adventurous and complex stories. I also stepped out of my realm of comfort and wrote general fiction, which is something I struggle with. That sounds odd, but I’m mostly a fantasy/horror writer and cultivating general fiction is hard for me, especially when it’s more than like a 2k drabble. But I was able to create multi-chapter stories that fall under that genre and I feel like it’s broadened my skill set as a writer.

I also pushed my smut writing skills, challenging myself to write different scenarios and try new kinks.

Do You Have Any Fanfic Or Profic Goals For The New Year? Fan fic goals not really. I just let it come as it wants because that’s what keeps it fun. I do have 2 fics I know for sure I want to write, but otherwise it’s all up in the air. And I guess maybe finally write that Perciwin fic I keep talking about? As for Profic... I HAVE SO MANY GOALS AND NO DRIVE TO ACHIEVE THEM LOLOL. I want to finish editing the manuscript to the sequel for my fantasy story and get it to my editor. I also want to finish this one general m/m fic I’ve been working on for like 2 years on and off. And I have something in the works with @hartwinorlose, though I’m not doing the writing part. And I want to go back and revise/edit my YA fantasy story. AND I want to work on another story + do the illustrations for it, that’ll be a YA story... or maybe it won’t. I don’t know. I may make it a webcomic. I’m not sure yet on that one. BUT YOU SEE???? SO MANY GOALS AND ALL I WANT TO DO IS WRITE FAN FIC. SOMEONE SEND HELP!

Best Story Of The Year? According to AO3 based on hits it’s my Merwin story We Will Make It There. I’d also say on a personal view that it’s the best (at least of COMPLETED stories) because it’s the most complex and fleshed out.

Most Popular Story Of The Year? Once again, based off hits on AO3 it’s the Merwin story We Will Make It There

Story of Mine Most Under-appreciated By The Universe, IMO: I’d say either Hinterland or Say You’ll Remember Me or We Are The Night. The lack of response on the first two kind of killed my desire to work on them. We Are The Night has some loyal fan base though, but it certainly isn’t my most popular fic.

Most Fun Story To Write: Oh boy... probably The Courting of Eggsy Unwin. I just smile every time I write it. I can’t stop. And We Are The Night is pretty fun because I’m approaching it as a cheesy story and trying to frame it in the same way an 80′s romcom would be.

Story With The Single Sexiest Moment: Oooooh... fuck, that’s a hard one. I DON’T KNOW. I write so much smut, it’s hard to tell. I’m going to say probably We Will Make It There. There was definitely some hot smut in that one. My favorite scene is in Chapter 2 ;D

Most Sweet Story: Joys of Baking because it’s just Eggsy being super sweet on Harry.

“Holy Crap, That’s Wrong, Even For You!” Story: Uhhh... hmmm for this year? I guess Dead Man Walking definitely pushed the limits on things. I don’t feel like I did anything too extreme. That story touched on some gritty scenarios. Otherwise probably We Will Make it There again.

Story That Shifted My Own Perceptions Of The Characters: The Courting of Eggsy Unwin. I really had to consider a lot of character’s reactions to the scenarios and the limits they’d be pushed to. It’s made me pause more often to decide what the appropriate response is. I think also Dead Man Walking because I wasn’t writing Harry, so to see his reactions from someone else’s POV helped me consider his actions in other stories.

Most Unintentionally Telling Story: Not sure what you mean by telling. We Will Make It There definitely had a lot of my personal wants influenced into it and helped me discover kinks I didn’t know I had. Joy of Baking has a lot of my own personal feelings on weight issues and body image.

Hardest Story To Write: Dead Man Walking due to ALL THE RESEARCH I had to write for it. Also Wade Through the Fire because it was mission fic and mission fic is HARD.

Biggest Disappointment: Hinterland and Say You’ll Remember Me. I thought people would really like them, so I was sad for the poor response. I’m also disappointed in my self for all the unfinished fics I have. And also for my lack of work in original stories.

Biggest Surprise: The Courting of Eggsy Unwin. I didn’t think so many people would like it but they do and it makes me SO HAPPY.
