Johnny Marr (born John Martin Maher; 31 October 1963) is best known as the guitarist and co-songwriter of The Smiths. he had a solid friendship with the lead singer Morrisey, which helped contribute to the songwriting and The Smiths’ overall sound before joining the band in 1982 Marr as part of other bands with fellow bandmate Andy Rourke. The band had great success throughout the ’80s until they ended in 1987. After his time with The Smiths, Marr has spent time producing and playing with various bands and a solo career. Marr has been awarded for his guitar work, and he is possibly one of the best guitarists of the ‘80s jangle pop/post-punk era. Marr is considered a significant fixture in the post-punk community.
