The best part about reading a Brandon Sanderson book is that every time you read it around someone else they are obligated to say some form of “wow! Big book!” and it brings back gifted kid™ emotions i haven’t felt since the accident

Kaladin and Lirin have the most realistic parent-child relationship because Kaladin came home a fucking Knight Radiant and Lirin was just like “…so I guess you’re not becoming a doctor anymore 🤨” and Kaladin isn’t even surprised.

I hate when I'm getting into a new fandom and I meet The Blorbo and I have to grudgingly concede that they are great. Like, yeah, y'all were right about Kaladin Stormblessed.

I think Sanderson’s greatest strength when writing is being able to make you initially hate a character with your whole being and then, through expanding the world and the narrative, makes those same characters fan favorites.
Rereading TWoK’s I’m reminded of how the first time I read I fucking HATED Adolin. What a dick. What an asshole. Jock. Daddy’s money ass rich boy.
Now, after reading all of Stormlight I would probably pass away if anything bad happened to him. His whimsy? Unmatched. Style? Impeccable. Aptitude for revenge? Present. He is My Little Pony (power of friendship). He’s just a horse girl that likes clubbing and making new friends.
Same thing happened for me with Susebron, TenSoon, Marsh, etc etc etc.

I’ve recently dove headlong into The Stormlight Archive and I’m wildly obsessed with these idiots.
Behold: Adolin, Shallan, and Kaladin. I want to smush them together like dolls to make them kiss.

i hated how when i finished The Way of Kings, my favorite character ended up being that one dude that appears literally only three times in the past 1k pages. and like, everyone else is so amazing, so determined, so admirable, so cool—and then there's Wit, who can pop out after disappearing for 400 pages and make me gush like an annoying prepubescent teenager who just read their first wattpad romance book. Wit, my dude, my silly, goofy, mysterious little assassination target... I love you, but fuck you, man.
And then I pick up Words of Radiance, looking for him, once again, and this shit frosted asshole appears literally on around page 600. it makes me question why I like him. wtf did he do to me? why would i like him? was it the flute? it was the flute, wasn't it? I mean, he's as loved as a cockroach, has the attitude of a fucking onion, and is already three times what's already twice an ass. again, thank you for making me happy, but fuck you, dude.

A short mistborn comic made with watercolor, colored pencils and digital lineart.
I colored the drawing two times: one with watercolor and one with colored pencils. Thereafter I merged them digitally in Photoshop by layering them onto eachother and erasing parts of the top to reveal the bottom layer.
