You Can Have It - Chapter 2
Alpha!Feysand x Omega!Reader
chapter 1 | chapter 3 | series masterlist
Story Summary: You've been a baker for 75 years, and are finally moving on from the Winter Court to the City of Velaris to start your own bakery after your grandmother passes. After your grand opening, the High Lord and Lady of Night become daily visitors to your bakery for months, every day having your most popular pastry- one that increases fertility for a short time. All the while, the two alphas want nothing more than to call themselves yours.
Warnings: A/B/O Dynamics, mentions of sex toys, I really don't think there's anything else?
Words: ~7.8k
Author's Note: it's here! I struggled a lot to get writing with this chapter, I think it's because there's so much I want to happen! Things should start moving a bit quicker after this chapter, were done with most of the OC introductions (just lil friendos for reader to have outside of the inner circle~). Hopefully in the next chapter reader will meet Rhys and Feyre :)

You had been reading for a couple of hours before Mor returned to the inn, busting into your room as soon as you opened the door at her frantic knocks.
“I brought dinner!” Mor squealed as she set a bag onto the table in the middle of the room. “I went to Sevenda’s and got my favorite of hers, it’s this delicious pesto chicken pasta with broccoli in it, I think you’ll love it! We just have to make sure to take the bowls back tomorrow, Sevenda made me promise and I’ve forgotten a couple of times already,” Mor said sheepishly, a grin on her face. She sat down and began pulling out the takeaway dishes along with napkins and utensils.
You sat down in the other chair, gladly taking your share of the heavenly smelling food and digging in. Mor followed suit, and the two of you ate happily in a comfortable silence for a moment.
“So, were you able to set up a meeting with Auric already?” You asked Mor before taking another bite- it tasted even more amazing than it smelled.
Mor nodded. “Yes, he agreed to tomorrow at two o’clock at this cute little café just a couple of blocks down from here. He mainly wants to know your plans for the land before finalizing the sale. Auric’s family has owned the land since Velaris was founded, and since he doesn’t have any children he just wants to make sure it’s a business with good intentions, I think.”
“That makes sense, I would probably do the same in his position.”
“Agreed. I think he’ll find a cozy bakery to be a perfect fit, he ran a custom paint and supply store once he took over, and I believe it was an apothecary before that.”
You smile softly at the knowledge that your bakery will be on land with such a long history, one that must have made so many people happy. “The apothecary part will be somewhat carried on with my bakery, I have a few different pastries with special herbs in them to give different effects to the person that eats it. I have one that was very popular in the Winter Court, it helps to boost fertility. We started having a greater amount of births around every major holiday, that’s when I would bake the most of them,” you gushed, always happy to talk about your baking.
“Really? Oh, that will be lovely! Since the war, everyone in Velaris has had their eyes turned to the future, and it seems almost everyone wants to have children nowadays. Once word gets around, you’d best be ready for constant business for that pastry alone.” Mor’s words instilled confidence in you, something that you needed every so often to be sure you’re making the right choices.
A half hour later, Mor stood from her chair and began packing up the dishes. Before she left, she pulled a small metal card from her pocket and handed it to you. “This is your bank card, you’ll need it to make any purchases within Velaris. Kallias and Viviane had me set up an account for you and deposit your farewell bonus. Ten thousand for every year you worked for them, a total of 700,000 gold marks.”
“700,000?!” You asked in a frantic tone. That was to much- far, far too much. “That- they must have made a mistake. That’s a ridiculous amount of gold!”
Mor only smiled at you as she answered, “No, they were very specific about the amount. They said if you were panicking to tell you that five thousand every year was for your grandmother, and five thousand was for you. And to tell you that there is no way to convince them to take any of it back, so don’t attempt.” Mor’s smile turned to a grin when you stayed silent, still processing the immense wealth that you now possess. “I’ll be here a bit before two tomorrow to show you to the café for your meeting,” she said as she left your room, bag full of empty dishes in her hand.
“Thank you, Mor. For everything you’ve done today.”
One more bright, sunshine filled smile. “You’re welcome, Y/N. It’s no problem, you’ve been lovely to get to know.”
You return her smile, and shut the door when she is out of sight. Standing alone in your hotel room, you suddenly feel the weight of your day crashing into your shoulders. You set your new bank card on the table, the weight of its wealth too heavy at the moment.
You made your way into the bathroom, carefully removing your dress from your body to not snag your wings on the fabric. Then you set to drawing the bath- luckily, it was fully enchanted with plumbing, allowing for hot water to fill the tub.
It was a bit smaller than you were used to, not quite the right size to fit a winged body, but it would do just fine until you could have your own custom tub made for your apartment.
As soon as the tub was filled, you sank into the warm water, keeping your wings out of the water for tonight- too much of a hassle to dry with how tired you are already.
You let the steam relax you, sinking into a soft, relaxed state of mind. It drifted to your grandmother- she had died today, but you weren’t devastated. She had been in pain the past thirty six years, caused by the curse Amarantha had put upon her. Your grandmother had accidentally served burned pastries to the revel, one making its way to Amarantha herself. As Nanna’s punishment, the evil queen had cursed her blood to burn away slowly until she eventually passed.
But she was in peace now- able to move on to the next life, hopefully one that’s happier, less filled with psychotic fae.
And here- here, you could believe that. You’d seen so many different kinds of fae today, more than you’d seen at once Under the Mountain. Every one of them got along, there was only minor haggling and bickering to disrupt the peace. Besides that, everyone had sounded happy, unburdened.
It was nice.
The Winter Court, even six years after Amarantha’s fall, was still struggling to find the same freeness that this city radiated.
Your grandmother would have loved it here, the two Palaces dedicated to food stuffs alone might have convinced her to move here.
You would love it twice as much, just for her. She had always wanted you to live a full life, one of joy, hopefully with an alpha and a family of any size. She had been an omega as well, understanding that need, that overwhelming desire to have a family, an alpha that loves you.
When you presented, your mother and father had already passed, taken by a brutal pneumonia that had overtaken most of your village. Your grandmother had been the only family left to teach you, and she had done all she could to prepare you for your secondary sex and all that came with it.
You had yet to take an alpha, ever. During your few heats before being trapped Under the Mountain, you had taken a beta as your lover, trusting him enough to help you through them.
And Under the Mountain… Well, you were lucky enough to have been relegated to the kitchens at all times besides during your grandmother’s punishment. No alphas had been allowed to work at kitchen staff, so you were kept relatively hidden during your heats, though they had been less frequent due to the stress, possibly even from the magic sucked from your body.
Now, though, they had returned in full force, three months apart and stronger than ever. Viviane had been kind enough to show you to the small shop dedicated to sex toys in the square of the capital city, some of them designed to mimic a knot.
The toy you had gotten that day had seen you through your last six years of heats, along with a special blend of herbs your grandmother had created that lessened the symptoms to a close to manageable level.
Now, though, in a new city? Maybe you could find an alpha for yourself, as well as follow your lifelong dream. You let yourself drift off and think about what your alpha might be like as you washed your body.
As soon as you were clean, you got out and dried yourself off. You wrapped yourself in the towel and padded into the bedroom once more, finally ready to unpack your things.
It went quickly enough, you hung up your dresses and put away your romance novels and cookbooks. One of them was your grandmother’s entire catalog of recipes, all of her tricks to making any recipe a bit easier. It was your most prized possession, your own catalog a close second.
Your bags were empty now, and you placed them at the bottom of the wardrobe, along with your pair of extra boots.
All alone. A new city.
You crawled into your bed after putting on your favorite nightgown, long sleeved and reaching your calves in a blue so light it’s nearly white, and a scooped back allowing for your wings to remind untouched by fabric.
The sheets on the bed are soft, and you bury your face in them for a moment, reveling in the feeling of them on your skin. A gentle huff leaves your mouth, and you turn your head to look out the window, to where it’s snowing.
You’ll be sad when the snow is gone, but you can’t deny that you’re excited to see the other seasons come and go as they do outside of Winter.
And your bakery- you wonder how that will change throughout the seasons. Different pastries, outdoor seating, seasonal themes- would you be able to make it snow inside during winter?
You drifted off to different imaginings of your new business, new home as well as you’ll be building an apartment above the bakery itself.
🤍🩵🤍💜🤍
You awoke the next morning to the winter sun shining into your eyes. You stretched for a moment, then got up from your bed, and walked over to the doors leading to your balcony and stepped through them. Outside, the snow had stopped falling overnight, and now looked to be around five inches deep.
That wasn’t bad, not bad at all. This time in Winter there would be nights with a foot or more of snowfall. It looked to be about ten in the morning- that would be more than enough time to go and grab some breakfast, and maybe shop around a little bit.
You quickly pulled on a pair of thick grey wool tights after removing your nightgown, then slipped into your thickest winter dress, making sure to get all of the buttons into their holes to make the fabric wrap snugly around the base of your wings to protect the skin beneath. The dress, made of thick wool with a silvery fabric layered over the top, was one that you didn’t wear too often, as you didn’t tend to venture outside of the High Lord’s palace often when it snowed heavily. Your wings, even after living in Winter for the first twenty five years of your life and the past six, were still sensitive to the cold at times, so you preferred to stay inside during most of the heavy snow season.
This dress keeps the rest of you warm and cozy, and you want breakfast, so you’ll risk your wings feeling a bit chilled.
You pulled on your boots that nearly reach your knees and lace them up quickly, your stomach’s loud growl making your fingers move faster. Then you throw on your scarf, hat, and mittens, taking care to slip your bank card into your right mitten for safe keeping, and then you’re out the door, locking int behind you and bounding down the stairs.
“Good morning, Y/N,” Druana said from behind the counter as you breezed past her, making your way to the door.
“Good morning, Druana!” You replied enthusiastically. “I’ll see you in a little bit, I’m going to explore the city on my own for a while.”
“Have a good time, and be careful in the snow. It gets slippery on the stones beneath quickly,” Druana warned as you opened the door and slipped through it.
“Thank you!”
And then you were in the crisp winter breeze, breathing in deep lungfuls of the clean, snow scented air. You’ll definitely miss this once the season slips into spring, but you’re here now.
And it’s beautiful.
The snow has iced the roofs of the buildings around you perfectly, and everything looks like a little gingerbread town. You made your way through the streets slowly, following the delicious scent of cinnamon, sugar, and coffee that you picked up.
Soon, you were at an adorable café, decorated with soft pastels inside and out, primarily pink. And you could tell that inside there was a cinnamon coffee cake and coffee to go with it, one of your favorite breakfasts- just perfect for your first official morning in a new home.
You entered the building, spotting a slim high fae beta at the counter in the back.
“Good morning,” she chirped cheerily at you as you made your way to the counter.
“Good morning,” you responded, already looking over the display of baked goods she had out. “I’ll have a slice of that cinnamon coffee cake,” you said, pointing to the perfect looking coffee cake. You then looked behind the other fae, taking in the coffee brewing equipment. “And a coffee with a bit of cream in it, please.”
“Of course,” the other fae said, grabbing your order in a couple of minutes, sliding a plate and a mug over to you after you’d slid your mittens off. “That will be two gold marks,” she said, and you handed over your bank card, hoping that you weren’t doing this wrong. The fae opened up a ledger, and pressed your card against it. “Alright, here’s that back. You can take a seat wherever you like, and just bring the dishes up to the counter when you’re done,” she said softly as she handed you the card back.
“Thank you,” you said with a smile. You grabbed your items, and sat at the table right in front of a window looking out onto the street you’d just come in from.
Both the cake and the coffee were delicious, warming your insides nicely as you sat and watched people go by, the city slowly waking as you ate, a few customers walking in as you did. You returned the dishes to the front, smiling at the pretty fae running the café. “Thank you, it was absolutely delightful! Would you happen to know the way to a bookstore near here?” You asked a bit shyly.
“New to town?” The fae asked, and you nodded your head in confirmation. “If you go to the right and head down five buildings, take a left and then in two more buildings you’ll be at Gina’s bookstore- she’s very nice, and loves meeting new people.”
“Thank you so much, I’ll probably see you again soon. My name is Y/N, by the way,” you said.
“My name is Jayla, it’s nice to meet you Y/N. And it’s no problem, I’ll see you again!” The fae said cheerily.
You followed her instructions well, and within a few minutes you were shaking the snow off of your boots and dress and walking into the cozy bookstore. There were rows and rows of shelves extending into the back of the store greeting you, and when you looked to your left there was a counter with a green skinned fae behind it. Further down from the counter, there was a small sitting area in front of a fireplace- a roaring fire already blazing inside.
“Welcome in!” The fae said with a warm smile as she looked to you, standing just inside the now closed door. “My name is Gina, I’m happy to help you find anything, or you can browse around for a bit.”
You moved closer to her, taking off your mittens and tucking your bank card into the collar of your dress as you did so. “My name is Y/N, I was wondering if you had any romance novels?” You asked, feeling a bit shy at the request, especially once the alpha’s scent washed over you.
She probably thinks I’m some silly romance obsessed omega now, you thought to yourself.
“Ah! Another romance lover! Right this way, I’ll show you some of my favorites too, if that’s alright,” Gina exclaimed as she quickly made her way over to you and grabbed your hand, leading you through the rows of books to the middle of the store.
“Right in the heart of the store is where I keep my favorite genre,” Gina said as she pulled a book from one of the shelves. “And this is my favorite romance series! It’s called Healer of Time, it’s about this omega high fae from the Dawn Court. She has these really strong healing powers, and she somehow ends up traveling back and forth between current time and three hundred years ago, and has to choose between two fantastically hot alphas, one from each timeline. It’s just perfect, and I’ve helped make the series all the rage in Velaris!”
She handed the book over to you, which you eagerly accepted. That sounded like the best blend of romance and adventure to you. “How many books are there on the series?”
“Nine so far, but the author puts out a new one every year or so, thank the Mother!” Gina responded, pointing out the other eight books for you.
“Wow, that’s a pretty good turn around. I honestly think I’ll get the first four today! It sounds like a really good read.”
Gina grins widely at you, and her excitement is too contagious to not smile back. “I’ll take these up to the front for you, but if you have any more questions feel free to come up and ask me!” Gina took the book from your hand and pulled three more off of the shelf.
“Do you happen to have any cookbooks?”
“Of course, they’re near the front, off to the right in the row second closest to the wall Y/N.”
You make your way over to the area, and quickly spot the section dedicated to cooking and baking. One catches your eye, titled Night Court Favorites, with a beautiful illustration of a moonlit picnic on the front. On the back, it promised the recipes for the past three millennium of Night Court nobility’s favorite dishes. Probably as good a place as any to start your full cooking journey, now that most of your meals would not be prepared by the other kitchen staff of the High Lord’s palace.
You flipped through it quickly, eyes snagging on a recipe for Night Court traditional curry- it sounded absolutely delicious.
With the cookbook in hand, you ventured slowly back to the front counter where Gina stood talking to another fae excitedly, your books waiting on the counter for you.
“Ah, Nesta, I’d like you to meet Y/N, she’s the customer I was telling you about!”
The other fae turned around, her movements sending a small amount of her scent- a winter bonfire and very alpha- and you were struck by her beauty. Sharp angles and liquid steel eyes, and lovely golden brown hair twisted into an elegant braid crown on top of her head.
“It’s nice to meet you Y/N, are you new in town?” The high fae’s voice was husky and holding a certain power to it, absolutely lovely.
“It’s nice to meet you, Nesta. And yes, I just moved to the city yesterday.”
“Well I hope you find the city to your liking. Gina was just telling me that you like romance novels?” You nodded your head. “I host a little book club here every second and fourth Wednesday at four in the afternoon, and we mainly read romance novels. I always like to extend an invitation to those Gina thinks would enjoy it,” Nesta offered.
“Oh…” you thought about it for a moment. “I’m in the process of getting my business up and running right now, but maybe in a couple of months when things have calmed down?” You asked hopefully.
Nesta nodded her head in agreement. “That’s fine, just talk to Gina when you’re ready to join, she’ll let you know what book we’re reading. Well, it was nice meeting you, but I’ve got to be going now now,” Nesta said, making her way over to the door.
“It was lovely meeting you as well, Nesta. I’ll see you in a couple of months.”
The alpha was out the door after waving goodbye, and you were left alone in the bookstore once more with Gina.
“Did you find everything you wanted, dear?” She asked, taking the cookbook from your hands.
“Yes, I did. Though I’m sure I’ll be back in a week for some extra reading, if I end up having the time.”
“You mentioned a business? What kind?”
Your books were bagged now, and you handed over your bank card after pulling it from your collar. “I’m going to be opening a bakery in the Rainbow, if all goes to plan.”
“Oh, that’s nice! We can always use more food stores, and bakeries especially! I’m a big fan of anything bread,” Gina said with a laugh, handing you back your bank card and sliding the book filled fabric bag over to you. “It came out to 11 gold marks and one silver mark, and if you absolutely hate the first book, I’ll let your return the rest and pick out something else, alright?”
You grin at her. “I don’t think that will be necessary, but it’s good to know! I’ll see you sometime soon, Gina. Thank you.”
“I look forward to hearing what you think of them! Walk safely, it can get slippery,” Gina warned as you stepped back into the snow and cold, door thunking shut behind you.
You followed your route back to the café you’d eaten at, simply names Jayla’s. You walking, taking the path that you think leads to the inn. You end up making a few extra turns, but you’re back in the warmth of the inn after you finally find the building. Druana is nowhere to be seen when you enter after kicking the snow off of your boots and dress, so you simply go up to your room.
Your bag lands on the table, and you immediately pulled out the cookbook, flicking through it again to find the curry recipe. You spy a notepad, quill, and ink pot which you grab and bring over to the table.
On the page, you write all of the ingredients you’ll need to make the curry- tonight, hopefully, if you can find everything you need in the two food centric Palaces. You’ll need chicken, a few different root vegetables, a good variety of spices, and coconut milk- you hoped that one of the various stalls you’d seen yesterday would have some prepared, you don’t quite feel like going through that hassle yet.
You check the small clock hanging on the wall, seeing that it’s only a quarter to noon still, that should be plenty of time to get the ingredients you need and be back here in time to meet Mor.
Next you look in the cupboards of the kitchenette, which hold a large frying pan, a pot with a lid, a cutting board, cooking utensils and small knife set. There’s also two sets of plates, bowls, cups and utensils. The frying pan and pot should work nice enough for the curry, there’s not much point to you buying your own cookware until your building is completed. And there’s a cold box, enchanted to keep dairy and meat fresh.
That would hopefully mean going to only one Palace today, or at least before the meeting. You let the ink of your list dry for a few more minutes, flipping open to the first page of your new book series, quickly reading the first chapter.
Just as you thought, it was going to be a good fit.
You folded your list in half once, then again, and tucked it into the collar of your dress alongside your bank card. You should probably get a purse of some sort soon. But that can wait.
You’re bounding down the stairs again in an instant, and Druana is back at her desk this time.
“Oh, I didn’t even hear you come in! I’ll see you again soon, Y/N.”
You smiled at her and said, “Yes, I should be back at or before 1:30, and Mor will be meeting me here, just so you know.”
“Thank you,” Druana replied with her own smile.
You were back in the winter air, sun shining down on you now. Your breath still made puffy clouds in the air, but you didn’t care. It’s winter, and it’s beautiful.
Slowly, you made your way across the nearest bridge that connected right to the Palace of Hoof and Leaf, your current destination. Upon entering the more tightly packed area, you gravitated towards a large stall, covered in so many different vegetables and large glass jars, only a few still filled to the brim with spices. There was a tall, dark skinned high fae standing behind the stall.
“Can I help you?” She asked in a low voice, and you instantly pinned her as an alpha.
You pulled out your grocery list. “Yes, I needed the vegetables and spices on this list, if you happen to have them,” you said, handing it over to the female when she gestures for you to give it to her.
“I just so happen to have almost all of these spices, and the ones I don’t I can point you to another sweet fae who has them, as well as the coconut milk and rice you need. And I have all of the vegetables you need. Making the traditional curry?” She asked as she began gathering the vegetables for you.
“Yes, I’m new to the city and want to learn some of the common dishes here, and this sounded like a wonderful start.”
“Well, I’ll say that it’s one of my personal favorites, so I hope you won’t be disappointed. My name is Petra, by the way, it’s always nice to see new faces in town.”
You smile at her, so happy that so far you’ve only had positive experiences with the people of Velaris. “I’m Y/N, it’s nice to meet you.”
“Now, would you like to buy small spice jars that you can bring back and refill, or just go with the amount you’ll need for the recipe?” Petra asked you, holding up a small glass bottle with a metal lid fitted to the top.
“I think I’ll buy the spice jars, please.”
She fills the three small bottles up quickly, putting them in a thin wooden container with a handle, with six slots perfectly fitting the spice jars.
“You can come back and have them filled up for a slight discount for any spice sellers in the two food oriented Palaces, but I’d prefer if you came back to my stall,” Petra said with a wink, placing the container into the tan fabric bag containing the vegetables. “That will be 7 gold marks, please.” You handed her your bank card, and she quickly passed it back after pressing it to her ledger. “Now, the other two spices and the coconut milk you need, you can find three stalls down on the right, and the male next to her has a good price on chicken, just to give a few suggestions,” Petra offered, pointing out the two fae she was speaking of.
“Thank you so much, I’ll be sure to come back when I need more vegetables,” you said before walking away, exchanging waves and warm smiles.
You made your way over to the other stalls, quickly buying the other two spices, coconut milk, and rice you need, as well as the chicken the recipe called for- one large chicken breast. You trekked back to the inn carefully, switching the bag between hands every so often.
“Grocery shopping, I see,” Druana greeted you as you breezed into the inn after kicking the snow off of your clothes.
“Yes, I thought it would be better than ordering in every night,” you chuckled as you made your way over to the stairs.
“Well, good luck with that. And don’t burn my inn down,” Druana added playfully as you began going up the flight of stairs.
“I’ll do my best!” You unlocked your room, immediately dropping the heavy bag next to the books you’d purchased earlier. Groceries sure are heavy when you have to lug them across town. No matter. You’ll get used to it soon enough, especially once you have to purchase for the bakery.
You put the chicken and coconut milk into the cold box, and the vegetables and spices onto the counter. Right after you had, there was a knock at your door. “Y/N? It’s me, Mor.”
You swung the door open, letting the bubbly blonde into your room. She was carrying a large yellow envelope under one arm, and decked in winter gear from head to toe, but still slightly shivering even in the warmth of the building. “Time to go?” You asked, still holding the door open.
“Yes, getting there a little early is wise with weather like this. Nothing quite like eating shit one to many times on your way to a meeting and ending up late,” Mor said, already moving back out of your bedroom door and into the hallway, and you followed her after making sure your bank card was still tucked safely in the collar of your shirt
The door snicked shut and you locked it quickly, following Mor down the stairs and outside once more. She led you through the streets cautiously, obviously afraid of falling down, but you made it to the café within ten minutes, and to your surprise it was Jayla’s café.
“Ah, welcome back Mor, Y/N,” Jayla said from behind the counter as she wiped it down with a cloth.
“Morrigan!” Exclaimed an older male’s voice, gravelly with age. “It’s wonderful to see you again, come, introduce me to your friend,” the elderly high fae said, beckoning the two of you closer to where he was seated at a table, three other chairs surrounding it.
“Auric, this is Y/N, the lovely young fae hoping to buy your property. Y/N, this is Auric, Velaris’s most experienced paint mixer, including magic imbued paints as well,” Mor said as the two of you sat in the unoccupied chairs.
“It’s wonderful to meet you Auric, I truly fell in love with your family’s property the moment I saw it,” you said right before Jayla came over to the three of you.
“Would the two of you like anything to drink?” She asked, and you noticed that Auric already had a mostly full cup of tea in front of him.
“I’ll take a tea, whatever you recommend please.”
“The same for me, please,” Mor said. “Thank you, Jayla.” Jayla nodded and walked away, going behind the counter to begin brewing your teas.
“So, you fell in love with the land? What did you like about it?” Auric asked you, eyes running over your face. It was then that you scented him- a male omega. It had been years since you’d met one yourself, before the mountain you believed.
“I loved the view looking towards the Sidra, you can see the mountains in the background as well as all of the other beautiful buildings in the city. The land itself is so lovely, it’s nice and flat, and I think it would look wonderful with a little extra landscaping, maybe a tree or two of that would be alright. And the location, on the outside edge of the Rainbow would be perfect for a bakery, close enough to a few residential areas, but also involved in the creativity that the area boasts,” you gushed, still picturing the view in your mind. Being able to bake and look out at such a beautiful river, beautiful city, truly, would be amazing.
Jayla returned, two cups of tea in hand that she placed in front of you and Mor. “A lovely raspberry tea for the both of you,” she said before walking back to the counter.
“A bakery, hmm?” Auric questioned, raising a brow at you as you took a sip of the tea- delicious. “Are enough sure you have the stamina to run it? It’s a hefty job.”
You nodded your head once, fully confident in your abilities. “Yes, I previously worked to bake for the entirety of the Hugh Lord of Winter’s residence, and over the course of… Well, being Under the Mountain, I was assistant to the head baker, my grandmother, for twenty years, and for thirty years after that I was head baker myself. I am confident that I can handle running a bakery on my own.”
The older fae’s eyes narrowed at your for a minute, before they crinkled as his lips spread into a smile. “I like you. I’m sorry that you had to go through that, but it’s good to see you’re stronger for it. Now, what type of baked goods will you be selling?”
You breathed a small sigh of relief before answering. “Well, I do have a few favorite pastries of the Winter Court that I’ll have, as well as loaves breads and cakes. Plus I have a number of recipes made with medicinal herbs or berries that have health boosting benefits. My most popular one by far has been a fertility boosting pastry made with a berry native to the Winter Court.”
Auric hummed as he considered everything you had said. “And what will you name it?”
“I… What?”
“What will you name your bakery? Surely you know what you want your business to be called, Y/N.”
“Of course I do, Auric. It will be called Sparaiya Bakery, after my grandmother. She might have left this plane, but she will always be with me, especially when I bake.”
Auric clapped his hands together once. “Very well, then. I’d like to sell you my land, Y/N. I think you have a good amount of experience, you have a vision for your bakery, and you seem like a strong, loyal person. I believe my ancestors would be proud to have your business on their land,” the older omega said sincerely. “I’ve set the price at 100,000 gold marks, are you willing to pay that much?”
The thought of that much money alone being spent made your stomach churn, but you reminded yourself of the massive amount of money that Kallias and Viviane had given you, and that this land was worth every single mark you were going to spend on it. “Yes, that’s perfectly fine with me.”
“Perfect!” Mor pulled the envelope from between her arm and chest, pulling a few documents out and summoning a quill and a pot of ink. “The two of you can go ahead and sign here, and Y/N, you’ll just need to press your bank card to the top right corner after you’ve both signed.” The two of you do as she says, standing and shaking hands afterwards.
“Thank you so much, Auric, for entrusting your family’s land to me. I hope that if you come by once it’s finished, you will be proud.”
Auric regarded you warmly, squeezing your hand an extra time before letting go. “I’m sure that I will be, Y/N. Let me know when you’re opening, and I’ll be sure to stop by.” He grabbed his copy of the sale documents
“I’ll make sure to. Have a wonderful rest of your day,” you said as he walked out of the café, leaving you with Mor. “I’m so happy he said yes! Oh, I should go tell Marcus that I have the plot of land now, and get everything moving in that direction. Thank you so much, Mor. You’ve been such a help in all of this,” you said, placing a kiss gently on the alpha’s cheek. “I’m going to head over to Marcus’s business now, if that’s alright.”
“Oh, of course!” The alpha responded, already donning all of her winter clothes again to bundle against the cold. “You walk safely over to there, Velaris gets slippery when it snows. Now, will I see you for lunch this Thursday?” Mor asked, and you mentally double checked the day of the week in your head- Monday.
“Yes, three days from now sounds perfect. Do you want to meet somewhere or at my hotel room?”
“I’ll meet you at your hotel room this time, alright?”
You nodded your head in agreement. “That sounds good, I’ll see you on Thursday Mor. You walk safely too!” You were already out of the door with your bill of sale in hand, beelining your way as well as you could to the Palace of Flame and Steel. When you arrived at Marcus’s shop, you swung the door open and stomped off the snow on your boots before entering. “Marcus!” You said excitedly as you met his eyes, waving the paper in your hands at him. “I have land now, will you be able to come assess it in the next few days?”
Marcis stood from his place behind the desk and made his way around it to you. “I can go right now, there it too much to do around here at the moment,” he said, already ushering you out of his shop, flipping the open sign on the door to say closed, and locking it behind him.
“If you’re sure…” you said before grabbing his hand and pulling him with you to the Rainbow as fast as the two of you could manage in the snow. “This is it!” You gesture to the dilapidated building excitedly.
“You are planning to tear it down, right?” Marcus asked, amusement in his voice.
“Of course I am, silly, I wanted the land. It has such a beautiful view of the Sidra and the mountains, come here.” You pulled him past the building, to where you had stood when you’d known that this was the land you wanted your dream to come to life on.
Marcus let out a heavy breath. “Okay, I get it now.” He looked around, taking in where they were situated. “And it’s in the perfect spot for a bakery, you really picked the best possible spot.”
“I know!” You squealed, jumping as high as you could without using your wings in your excitement. “So, what’s the procedure for tearing down the old building and starting the new construction?” You asked, ready to learn the necessary details.
Marcus pulled you back onto the street, and the two of you began to walk back to his business. “Well, we need to submit a request for a permit to demolish, and one for construction. But since I’ve done a good amount of work in the past six years, I doubt that there will be much more than two days of waiting time between submitting it and getting the permits. We can fill out all the forms once we get to my office, and I’ll get them sent up to the House of Wind as soon as I can.”
“Alright, that sounds doable enough,” you said as you threw a smile at him, happy that he’s kind about you not knowing much about the building process.
Soon enough the two of you are back at his office, and he swings the door open, letting you go inside first. He went through a filing cabinet behind his desk before pulling out a half inch thick stack of papers in total. Marcus turned back to you, placing them on the desk and gesturing for you to take a seat.
You do as he asks, and he sets two piles in front of you- both are identical. You give him a quizzical look, not understanding the purpose of having two.
“One pile is for your own personal records, and the other is for the permits and for our contract agreement, for payments and things like that. I suggest you read everything closely, and I can explain something to you if you’d like.”
You read through the stack of documents, finding everything to be fair, both in compensation for the company, and certain protections on promises made to you. You signed the contract documents first, letting Marcus take the pages as you finished to sign them himself. Then came the permit application, you needed to state why you wanted to tear the building down, then what you were going to replace it with.
That was easy, the current building would not suffice for a bakery, it might even burn down if you ride to light a fire in it. And building on top of the land, well, a bakery plus a second floor apartment with a small garden.
Once it was all filled out, Marcus went through every page to make sure that everything had been signed. “Alright, everything looks to be in order. I’ll write to you to let you know when it’s been approved, okay Y/N?”
You nodded your head, happy to be done with the paperwork portion of the day. “That sounds just fine, Marcus. I’ll see you in a few days, most likely,” you said before standing from your chair, stretching your muscles and wings slightly.
“I’ll see you then,” Marcus responded, asking you over to the door. By this point, the sun had begun to set over Velaris, but the city was more alive than it had been all throughout the morning.
“And thank you, Marcus. I look forward to working with you,” you added as you stepped outside and away from his shop.
“It’s no problem, Y/N. I’ll see you soon.”
And the you were off, your new property deed tucked under safely against your body. You were eager to make your way home, wanting nothing more at this point than a hot bath and a warm meal- you didn’t particularly care in which order. You were at the inn soon enough, kicking snow off of your boots and the hem of your dress for the last time of the day.
“Welcome back, Y/N,” Druana greeted from behind the counter, waving a bark skinned hand at you.
“Thank you, Druana. I’ll see you in the morning!” You said, already making your way up the stairs in your rush to finally get out of your winter gear.
The door to your room swung open and shut quickly, and you sat at the table in the center of the room, undoing the laces of your boots as fast as you were able. They came off, then followed by your dress after unbuttoning the back carefully. Now you were only standing in your underthings and tights, and very much feeling the chill that had set in from being outside in your bones. You stripped off the rest of your clothes before heading into the bathroom and starting the tub.
Gloriously hot water spilled out of the faucet, and you didn’t wait for it to fill up, merely settling yourself in as the water slowly came up to your neck. You allowed yourself to soak for a few minutes, letting the cold seep from your bones and warmth replace it. Once you felt warmed and comfortable, you washed yourself quickly after hearing your stomach growl loudly.
After toweling off, you went back into your bedroom and donned a soft set of white cotton underthings, as well as an oversized lilac sweater that you were able to wear like a dress, the back already having had the fabric carved out of it to fit your wings. It was so cozy and soft, you felt buried in it. Just how you wanted to feel after an eventful day.
You went to the kitchenette, pulling out the cutting board, pot, and pan. You grabbed the cookbook from the table and set it on the counter next to the cutting board, reading over the instructions once more. Next you pull out the chicken and grab a suitable enough knife, dicing the meat into bite sized chunks as the recipe called for. You set them in the pan, lighting the charcoal beneath the burner to get the heat started.
You washed the knife and cutting board and dried them off, then grabbed the root vegetables that you’d bought earlier. Similar to baking, you switched between washing and chopping the vegetables to making the meat around the pan easily, being careful not to burn anything while getting everything else you would need prepped.
Paying attention to the recipe, you measured out the right amount of each spice, mixing them Goethe’s with a bit of water to create a paste that smelled heavenly and spicy.
The chicken was done now, and you added the vegetables along with a bit of water and the coconut milk. Then all you had to do was wash and set the rice to cook, and wait. You rinsed the rice in one of the bowls, getting the water clear before carefully draining it out and placing the rice in to the now boiling water.
In another twenty minutes, you deemed the vegetables and rice to be cooked enough, and dished out a nice serving of rice, with lots of curry on top.
You cleared off the table, moving your new books over to the nightstand by your bed, then brought your dinner to the table. You sat facing the windows and stared out at Velaris as you ate, pleasantly surprised with how nicely the curry had turned out, with it being your first time cooking anything like it.
Soon enough you were full and getting sleepy, so you brought your dishes back to the sink. You plated the rest of the rice and curry into the other bowl that you hadn’t used, then washed all of the dishes you had used that night.
By the time you had finished, your bed was calling to you, and it was such a soft, sweet landing when you finally made your way under the covers, deciding to sleep in your massive sweater instead of changing into a nightgown.
It’s not like anyone will see me sleeping, anyways, you thought to yourself, right as you drifted off into a peaceful sleep, filled with the view from your new property.

"I can not dance"
Christmas lights have always been your favorite. They never cease to amaze your eyes. This particular house has added music!
Tom blyth x F!reader
Walking had always been a staple in your new found relationship. There was something so relaxing about holding hands with your lover as you strolled through the homey streets you lived on. Tom couldn't get enough of it. He needed those walks, to bring him down from the possibly stressful day he had. Or to just be near you..
"Tom!" Tom swivels on his feet when he hears the faint gasp escape your lips. The lights from the home glowed pretty colors, whites and yellows. For Christmas, that has always been the single biggest weakness of yours. Lights.. Anytime you were driving or he was, you would ask him to stop, just so you could look at the lights.
Tom couldn't blame you. Not because he loved them, but because he loved you. Watching you get happy over, what were simply lights in his mind, made his entire day.
"Tom they are gorgeous! It's like heaven met the north pole!" You exclaimed, like a little kid on Christmas morning.
He excitedly looks up, snaking his arm around your shoulders "And how would you know how heaven looks?" Tom's eyes avert to yours when he says heaven
"You've made me see it once or twice." Your finger hooks into the belt loop of his pants, before you pull away with a wink. The confidence this man always instilled in you was crazy. You would never have said something like that around someone else.
His baby blue eyes, blow wide, as he looks straight up and at you. A small triumphant smirk plays at his lips the more he thinks about the statement. "Darling you baffled me." Tom's arms come around your waist from behind, before he quickly spins you around. Both hands resting on your waist.
The small smirk now turned into an innocent smile "let me make it a third time hm?" the words drip from his tongue elegantly, as he begins to sway the two of you
"Mm how about a fourth? This happens to be my third time seeing heaven" You hint to the lights and the soft music playing from the home. Your arms come up slowly to drape around his neck, while a small laugh pierces the silence between you two.
He says nothing, but you do "Actually... make it a fifth... I just so happen to be looking at my version heaven" The words you say, put Tom on a stand still, and the world around him seems to stop, but not for long. In this very moment, he knows he's with his forever and you know you're with yours.
Tom's eyes search yours momentarily, then he leans down. A sweet kiss is shared between the two of you. The snow falling around you both, elegantly and slowly. Every time, you swear by it, that your boyfriend kisses like a starved man. Every. single. time. there is nothing that changes the way he kisses. No matter how many times you two may have kissed, he still kisses you like its his first time having a girlfriend.
"I forgot to mention-" He pulls away a little, and you look up at him questioningly. "Snow lands on top" GOD. Your lover is cute, has blue eyes AND is corny!! You love him. You just stare at him for a moment and crack up. laughing about it all the way back home.

Ch171: Denji's Victimhood Made Flesh
Pochita, the Hero of Hell has returned and the first thing he did was rip off Barem's head, and the chapter ends with it looking like he's about to rip apart Public Safety's Division 5 which was built for the purpose of containing him.
A lot of people seem to have become very excited about this turn of events, but I however do not share those sentiments.
To me, Pochita in this form represents the totality of Denji's victimhood, of his history of abuse at the hands of others as they try to exploit him. Pochita's contract with Denji was to show him his dreams, of his desires of a better life, but sadly everything good about his life since that contract was made has only been used against him, all of it for the purpose of breaking him down. Makima only let Denji enjoy the life he had with Aki and Power because she planned on taking it away from him, instilling in him he notion that he was at fault for their deaths, and that he had no right to be happy. Barem then burned down his home, killed his pets and presented him with Nayuta's head to further prove Makima's point to him. They took away everything Denji held dear, made him know it was his fault, and that he had no hope for happiness, hopes or even dreams, and it makes me worry about what will happen to Denji from now on. Not even Barem's brutal death can provide proper catharsis because he got want he wanted out of Denji, and being a Hybrid he can just get back up no problem. The last time this happened Pochita tried to reestablish the contract by forcing Kobeni on a date, but it was a feeble attempt that did nothing to help, and it took the unlikely and brief revival of Power to give Denji hope, but I am not confident those circumstances will be repeated. The situation is much worst this time, while Makima and her mind controlled thralls were a problem, this time he has all of Public Safety against her, Fami and whatever others plans she has in store, and entire world that fears and hates Chainsaw Man, his own emotional state is even lower because he now has proof that Makima was right about him, and not to mention there is Asa and Yoru.
The Hero of Hell is a symbol of Denji's victim hood, of people using him to get what they want; Makima, Barem, and Fami wanted Pochita, so they tore him apart to do so, Public Safety cared little for Denji himself and their "deal" with him seemed like a bogus deal that they knew would be broken sooner or later, and Asa, maybe the one person who is maybe the closest person Denji has to an ally at the moment, is still using Denji as a means to feel validated about her own life. As much as I love Asa as a character, I can't help but have no faith in her being able to fix this; I do not think that Asa will be able to meet Denji on an emotional level like this, and her entire story is about how she drops the ball in important moments, so even under the best of circumstances I can't help but think that any attempts on her part to help Denji can only spell is doom.
Pochita's reemergence means a Denji who has been stripped of everything, leaving nothing behind but the things that his abusers and exploiters want from him, with none of them thinking about Denji himself.

SummerTime.ft Alhaitham
Hello everyone~! I have decided that admist the waiting of 'Tangled Threads Of Hearts' chapters, I will post short stories that I have just written for Genshin! I made this after listening to 'From Y to Y', please enjoy it as you wait~! As usual, thank you to all readers that have supported me since the start of my journey here with Tangled Threads Of Hearts~ *Disclaimer: This is an original work done by me. Pls do not steal it or repost anywhere else. Thank you and have a happy reading day~!
Bygones were those memories of last warm summer, fleeting emotions and lingering regrets were long forgotten or so he thought... Alhaitham, the eccentric genius and handsome student council president of Sumeru Akademiya, never failed any of his grades and was always at the top of the class. No one has ever beaten him, many wished to get into his good graces and ask him for help with their studies but that hasn't always been the case. Girls flock around him, flirting every now and then to try and be his girlfriend, whereas the boys wished they could be as smart as him or just generally disliked him because of his no nonsense attitude.
Alhaitham was known to be a person who puts logic and rationality first before making decisions, his aloof and non-empathetic personality occasionally causes turbulence to ensue. The very fact that he was unable to perceive the right emotions and give out his opinions at the right time, was why everyone hated him and him being elected to be the student council president only seemed to make matters worse. The latter knew that for a fact but he chose to ignore as he felt that it was ridiculous and illogical to deal with this sort of people and to harbor such thoughts. He always believed in what he thought was right and there’s no way to change his mind. And yet... What is this sinking feeling that he felt so deeply within his heart..?
You, [First Name] [Last Name], the quiet and reclusive student. Your grades were average, nothing comparable to the eccentric genius of your class. You were a wallflower in many cases, only speaking when you were spoken to. You were ‘popular’ but not in a good way. Classmates flock around you as you were easy to be taken advantage of because of your unyielding kindness. Many wondered how you were able to break past the barrier of a stone-cold man’s heart, you often wondered to yourself too on what part of you had captured the most popular (hated) guy’s attention. It did not take long for you to be fully smitten with him and his antics, often making you laugh and instill confidence in you. He always manages to bring out the best in you and vice versa, the love that you both shared was equally passionate and strong for one another. So then… where did it all go wrong..?
You and Alhaitham had been dating for about 2 years. All your friends were extremely happy with how everything was going between the two of you, they had high hopes that you two would be together forever. Forever… This word struck a chord in Alhaitham’s heart. Truthfully, he had never thought that far ahead when he decided to confess to you, nor when he first laid his eyes on you. Alhaitham had always believed that there was something about you that caught his eyes, your kindness was mesmerizing, your patience was gold, your personality and thirst for knowledge were equally as radiant in his eyes. He loves the way your eyes always lighted up when you learn something new or even fascinated by things which he deemed mundane. Every day and every minute spent with you was never boring. He yearned for these peaceful times to last forever, but maybe he got a little too complacent. Too comfortable. The old him would never concern himself with such useless emotions, the old him would never- That was when he realized that you had changed him, you brought in a myriad of colors into his life. Letting him experience what being in love feels like, how it feels to be special in someone’s life. The old him would never understand that.
It wasn’t until one day, when all rainbows and sunshine were drenched in cold harsh rain, he realized that nothing lasts forever. You could say that he had become extremely naive by all these notions, that he had forgotten what was important. Likewise, you did too.
Alhaitham and you were both caught going out on a date in the city during one of your semestral holidays. You had not told your parents that you were dating someone, you had your reasons and Alhaitham agreed to let them know at a later time. You had expected to be found out one of those days, considering you had been leaving house early in the morning and returning home late frequently. But what you did not expect, was to be caught by one of your worst enemies from the past. He/she had been one of your closest friends before they decided to turn their backs on you as you didn’t bring them any form of merit and you were just dragging them down. Slowly all your friends began to also turn their backs on you, thus you became the person whom you were today. Trusting doesn’t come easily to you nowadays but your kind self was what kept you grounded. Alhaitham had seen what they couldn’t have and that was what made you open up your heart to him, little by little.
You were happy and content with whatever you have. But this bitch decided to show up and poke their noses into something that they shouldn’t have. Your parents were people who are highly sensitive towards family status and upbringing, they thought that you were their blessed child and was able to bring the family name up to new heights. However, they were disappointed by the outcome. You were average. Like many others. Your parents who used to shower you with affection and gifts, in a single night, completely closed you off from their lives. Alhaitham was the only one who saw you past your worth and loved you for who you really are. He often just told you that you being you was enough, you didn’t need to change just to meet someone else’s expectations. That’s why this break up hurt you more than it should..
Your parents who knew nothing much about your social life, let alone your love life, decided to poke their noses into your love life, after finding out that you were dating Alhaitham. That bitch had told them immediately after finding out about your secret date and was praised to high heavens by your parents. Your days after that fateful day, had never been peaceful as it should have been prior. With his status and upbringing, Alhaitham wasn’t shunned by your parents like that they did with you. Although, they did praise you for one thing. Which was being able to poach such a fine man like him, to which you deny. Alhaitham had refuted many of such claims, he was more than ready to take you away from such a family after what he had just witnessed. He thought that his words alone were able to keep you from doubting your self worth and to keep you from leaving him but alas.. The situation had taken its toll on the both of you as the moment the new semester started, you both were too busy to focus on anything else other than your studies. This was the final push towards graduation before you can enter a good college and find a stable job after. There was no time for trivialities, the two of you began quarreling more and more as the days went by. And that was when you finally snapped.
“Can your parents stop fucking coming to the house every single day, hounding me and you, day and night? It’s getting extremely annoying, especially since we have two tests this week and I want you to focus on it.”.
“Well, I’m sorry that my parents are hounding us like annoying pests! Since you have so much free time, why not help pacify them and ask them to leave instead of me?”.
“Since you oh so want me to focus on the test more than on our relationship?”.
“Me? Ridiculous, they are your parents, so why should I pacify? It’s a waste of my time. Since this all started because of you!”, letting his anger get the best of him, he failed to register what he just said.
“!”, turquoise eyes widened a fraction, his breath hitched in his throat.
Shock, hurt and despair flashed across your eyes as you took in what he had just said, how could he..? The man who you trusted in, your confidant had just pushed the blame all to you? When you weren’t in the wrong..?
“Wai-”, you cut him off.
“Me? Yes. YES, everything is fucking my fault happy now?!”, tears pricked at the corner of your eyes as you screamed.
“What I truly need right now is someone who can comfort me, give me a shoulder to lean on! Not fucking someone who dumps everything on me and tell me everything is my fault!”.
“I was wrong to trust you, Alhaitham. I thought you were different, different from everyone else and what they all said about you. Why did I ever think that you would take time out of your day to help me pacify my parents who look at you and only you, because their daughter is nothing as comparable to a capable man like you!”, nothing could stop these tears from flowing anymore as more came waterfalling down your already damp cheeks, you don’t know whether you were crying or laughing as you let out a sardonic cackle amidst your tears.
You were utterly broken and beyond repair. The man truly did not know what to do anymore.. He had utterly failed in protecting you and your smile which he loves so much. Now, that smile will no longer grace his presence in this looming emptiness and despair. For the first time, he shed a tear as he watched the flames that he ignited spread ablaze..
“..Let’s break up… It’s better for both of us.”.
->>>>>>>>>
Looking back, he wondered if he had truly done the right thing by letting you go back then. 10 years had passed since that last warm summer, where everything started and ended. Alhaitham is now a linguistics professor teaching at one of top universities in Sumeru City, his mundane life ever-unchanging just as he liked it to be or so he believed. After that day, you and him had never made contact with each other ever again. He wondered how you were doing now, probably better somewhere. He never really apologized to you as he didn’t know how to and guess he never will have the chance to.
Upon returning to his abode, which to his surprise was empty (honestly glad), Alhaitham quickly took a shower and cleansed himself off the day’s fatigue. Having a light meal before returning to his room to retire, he felt his phone vibrate beside him on the dinner table.
“ Annoying Bunch
Kaveh:
Dinner at Lambad’s Tavern tmr!
Cyno:
Sure, but what’s the occasion?
Tighnari:
A successful project? A new potential client? Either way, I’m free.
You:
If it’s on you, sure.
Kaveh:
I KNEW YOU WOULD SAY THAT, YOU INSUFFERABLE MAN!
Anyways, I have some exclusive scoop to tell you guys!
Cyno:
It better B worth it.
Tighnari:
*sighs*
You:
Likewise.
Kaveh:
Oh it DEFINITELY will! Cause it involves you!
You:
Me?
Kaveh:
Hoho, caught your interest! I see! So you better come tomorrow! ”.
‘Involving me?’, he wondered if it had anything to do with you. Well, he will only be able to find out tomorrow. Recently memories of you had resurfaced in his mind, he wondered if these were signs or some sort but he chided himself for such wishful thinking. Cleaning up the table and washing the dishes, he locked up everything before returning to his room to rest. With an unfinished book in his hand, he made himself comfortable and read into the night. The next day, at the appointed time, Alhaitham met up with his friends at the tavern. It started off with a friendly chat amongst friends about work and then the topic finally came.
“So you guys might be wondering why we are all gathered here today?”, all eyes focused on Kaveh.
“I met [Name] yesterday at work.”, three pairs of eyes widened at his revelation.
“You what?”.
“I met [Name] at work yesterday, she was apparently there with my client. Boy was I surprised to see her after so long!”.
“Is she doing well?”, Alhaitham finally managed to utter.
Cyno, Tighnari and Kaveh were also friends of yours that you had made after getting together with him, the three had always been supportive of your relationship at the start. When they found out what had transpired that day, they really gave him a big scolding.
“She looks well, I had not seen her smile because of a certain someone, but she definitely seems to be doing way better than before.”, Kaveh gave him a sardonic reply.
“That’s good.”.
“That’s good? Is that all you have to say?”, the blonde looked at him incredulously.
“What else am I supposed to say?”, he retorted.
“Calm down, Kaveh. Think about it. Do you think he can just waltz right up there in front of her and apologize and act as if everything is alright? Nay, I don’t think so. This is Alhaitham, we are talking about.”, the fennec reasoned.
“He’s right, Kaveh. I definitely can’t see him saying I miss you or whatever.”, Cyno added.
Said male grunted at the words his friend had just thrown at him. Kaveh slumped into his seat disappointed as he chugged down the beer in his hand like nothing.
“For starters, shouldn’t we ask the man in question what he wants to do? I am highly certain that you wish to see her again, don't you? I think what’s important is to first settle any lingering doubts first before tackling the problem. Apologizing doesn’t come easily to you, but you understand that you were in the wrong. What’s next, is what you wish to do and how you go about doing it.”.
Alhaitham let his friend’s word sink in as he thought to himself. What comes after the long overdue apology? He had failed miserably in protecting someone who was important to him, did he have the right to continue to love her again? He was afraid yet he wished to try. Afterall, the only one who made him this way, to change for the better was you. He did not wish to lose you again. This sinking feeling that had him trapped in its grasp, finally broke free as the man made up his mind. He still loves you, he truly does. Deciding to take a gamble for a lifetime, he decided to reach out to you again like he did in the past. He was going to apologize and make things right for both you and him, for your future together.

...lost child, pt. 2.
dialogue prompts from the story of the lost child by elena ferrante.
what do you know about ____ that i don't?
you think you can scare me?
some people are always saved, and some perish.
this city is dangerous. we have to go.
let's stay here. it will pass.
the outlines of things and people are delicate. they break like cotton thread.
i've always struggled to believe that life has firm boundaries.
what does that mean, 'protect'? it's only a word.
i was so afraid that i thought i was sick.
the only problem has always been the disquiet of my mind. i can't stop it.
that fabric that i weave by day is unraveled by night.
the terror remains. it's always in the crack between one normal thing and the other. it's there, waiting. i've always suspected it.
the ugliness of before was not supposed to be there anymore.
i can't manage to solidify myself around any goodwill.
_____ was right. i'm bad.
please, if i insult you, if i say ugly things to you, stop up your ears. i don't want to do it.
i wasn't well. i'm sorry. i filled your head with nonsense.
i know how i'm made.
you know what is behind my every word.
you're presumptuous. you always were.
people have to do what they feel like. otherwise, they get sick.
people are never happy alone.
better alone than in bad company.
lies are better than tranquilizers.
sometimes i don't know what to do with you.
you've always enjoyed disobedience.
i've always known about death, but i never thought it would happen to me.
even as a child, i knew i wasn't what the others thought. but i wasn't what i thought, either.
how would you act, in my place?
if they murder me, remember it was _____.
you've always been able to arrange things how you liked.
i didn't shed a tear, but the pain lasted for a long time.
i don't want to be a bigger burden than necessary.
you can't simply condemn. you have to get your hands dirty, if you want to change things.
you can't distinguish between a step forward, a step back, and standing still.
going home seems unthinkable.
all i do is make mistakes.
did you not even try to look for me?
if you have something to tell me, speak.
i know i'm mean to tell you these things, but ____ is the worst kind of meanness.
i wanted to tell you right away.
if they tell me to do a thing, i do it.
when you're in love, you forgive everything.
love not only doesn't have eyes; it doesn't have ears, either.
don't laugh.
i know i don't express myself well.
i'm trembling. can i sit next to you?
i want you now. this time only.
the hope of pleasure is the hardest to fulfill.
let me explain. it's essential. it's urgent.
i have confidence in you. you know what you're doing.
i told you, i don't understand anything.
i feel i'm in pieces, scattered all over.
i love you for how you are, your virtues and your flaws. everything.
i'm not with ____. i'm here.
you have the aura of a magician who casts spells and instills fear.
who are you, really?
i move things around in order to make them go the way i say.
didn't you say we have to change the neighborhood?
the law is fine, when you're dealing with people who pay attention if you merely say the word 'law'. but you know how it is here.
if people have no fear of the law, you have to instill the fear yourself.
do i not look like _____ anymore?
it's my fault. i don't know how to control myself.
i don't want to be photographed here.
you like talking shit?
[name] manipulates you, and you don't even realize it.
you're back already?
things are told or not told.
there's the chaos inside, and the chaos outside.
why do you act like that with me?
if there are any problems, telephone me, and i'll be right home.
i was sure you would know something.
let me take this moment to say goodbye.
you see ____ behind everything.
you wanted the law. the law has arrived.
it's not a question of love.
do what you think is best.
why should you be mad at me?
it's your life. you have the right to do what you want with it.
you don't know what freedom is.
i am continually in flight from my own body.

"I can not dance"

I have finished my first playthrough of The Veilguard as of last night. I have a lot of thoughts and am overall very happy with this game and the experience, can't wait to play it again. But I really wanted to ramble about something I noticed throughout the game with its structure and the way the romance plays out that reminds me of Mass Effect.
More under the cut since I will be going into the final set of missions for the games with BIG story spoilers, you have been warned.
So, I know Bioware took inspiration from Mass Effect with playstyle since ME is their original action RPG. It was very enjoyable. But I was a fourth into the game, I think, when I started to see some similarities to Rook and Commander Shepard. It's not a one-to-one, mind you! but there was something in the way Rook already had a bit of a reputation and felt very much experienced in the world, as well as how Rook can instill confidence and mentor their companions.
With the romance, the fact that you don't get the Love Scene until there is a moment of quiet before the big battle is very Mass Effect. I do like that it's not all at once, you're still getting romantic scenes and dating the character before the Big Moment, (that was my experience with romancing Davrin, anyway) so thank you for that Bioware.
But the biggest way that I feel they mirrored Mass Effect was the set of missions leading up to the finale. Choosing and then losing Harding when she led the second team felt like a gut punch and reminded me of Virmire. The choices of where to assign your teammates felt like the Suicide Mission in ME2, where if I made the wrong choice that teammate was a goner.
I got an achievement for keeping everyone in the Veilguard alive (obviously outside of that first choice that leads either Harding or Davrin to their death) but that also implies that we can lose them in the finale?? I'm sure we'll get that answer as more people finish the game.
I don't bring all this up because I think Bioware is lazy or copying their other successful game. I think it was smart that they took inspiration from more than just their Dragon Age games, and I honestly respect them for following through with the theme of regret in this game. That sometimes there aren't any good choices but we have to make them anyway.
But the reason I ramble at all—and this is just complete speculation; I have no proof—is that there were hints in the game, especially with Taash's storyline and the Qunari, that felt like it could be a set-up to DA5. And after the credits rolled, there was a line that just said "The Veilguard remains vigilant."
It makes me wonder that if we do get DA5, we might actually return as Rook with our companions. With the similarities to the story structure in ME, it would be another parallel for us to return as our protagonist and get to grow our romances (or choose new ones?) and see where our team goes based on what we chose for their personal quests. Getting to play as the prev. protagonist in a DA game has also been something bandied about in the fandom for years.
Obviously, none of this can be answered right now and probably won't be for years to come since Bioware is shifting its focus to ME5, but it was fun to think about and I wanted to share it.

Firstly just want to say I love your posts and opinions <3 Sorry this is a bit long, I only lurk around so I wanted to share my thoughts with someone (if that’s alright!)
As a Lando fan through all his teammates, I really love his dynamic with Oscar the most. I love that Lando always brings up how good Oscar is (even though everyone in the world loves to spread the narrative that Lando is washed because a rookie beat him*), and I love that Oscar is always supportive of Lando’s achievements too. They both put the team first before all else, and what happens in the race will stay in the race (no hard feelings after). Despite what the media pushes them to say or the narratives in articles, they both have a quiet understanding of each other and a lot of respect. What they have now is really sweet and I’m really hoping none of this would change for the years to come, even if they have a race winning car. Of course as a Lando fan first, I want him to win all the races, and I’m sure Oscar fans want Oscar to win all the races, but I hope that everyone can also learn to let what happens in a race stay in the race, just like them. For me anyone who shades/hates on either of them in any way just gets an instant block, I don’t want to hear it <3
*I hate how people always turn to shitting on Lando instead of saying Oscar is also good and equally competent?? I know Lando is supposed to be more experienced but he’s also young and he’s apparently never allowed to make mistakes. And I think not giving Oscar the credit is also disrespectful to him.
I also do hope this year they are even more comfortable with each other and will hang out more outside of races (even if they don’t share it). More than the media stuff, I am always so much more happy when they do something on their own, like how we found out Oscar was also in one of the planes from the recreating Instagram photos video, or that photo of them playing cards, that photo of them eating together in the paddock, or “what happened in Vegas stays in Vegas” that still haunts my mind….. (hate Vegas GP though, burn it).
tldr; Oscar is good for Lando and Lando has always been good in Oscar’s eyes, and can next season come faster
tysm anon and I'm sorry to be so late replying !!
god I am the same anon - I don't personally have favorites bc his dynamic with Carlos and Daniel was so much abt him being the baby duckling (and that on track Lando struggled privately w insecurity so much his rookie season whereas his confidence was building separate from what Daniel was experiencing). but what I love about the Oscar era is the way Lando just like, blossomed into McLaren being his home and his team when Oscar made such strong gestures to acknowledge Lando that way.
like so many ppl questioned Lando's ability to be in the senior/experienced/leadership role and wondered if he'd always prefer to be a little brother for a couple more years yet (and I think Lando wondered that too).
god yea I am so happy to leave ppl who try to pit teammates against each other in their own filth. like, enjoy being full of impotent rage ig?? bc apart from a VERY few instances these teammates are always able to be professional - and if they were already friends, remain friends. not only has Andrea instilled this from the start with Lando and Oscar, neither of them literally ever has had a history of friction w teammates or w each other. we've been through Monza before their relationship had even gotten settled so we're fine lol
and anon so far I'm genuinely amazed at how much content we're getting of them, of their own volition and McLaren's sm. the McLaren media fell off so hard right when the double podiums happened so I was worried that was how it was going to stay for 2024. hopefully stays this way!

i always had this fantasy of sitting in a corner of a cosy café with fancy coffee on one side and my laptop on another. now that i am living it right now, it is not that i am smiling ear to ear, but somewhere i know i am satisfied fulfilling one of my sweet wishes. i have come to this café several times now, but never alone or with my laptop. there is something about this place that reminds me of the way i used to live and view my life when i used to write on a regular basis. and by that, i mean the days when golden hue meant a contenting melancholia, or when colors held meaning, or when my eyes had a nostalgic gleam.
i am in this city for another 10 days and i want to have a lasting memory of this café. i have not written in so long, i had to be here, to feel a little dreamy and convince myself to just put out some sentences. the toffee nut latte is so good, and their music feels like it's one of my playlists playing. everything is so nice, life has been kind, i found good folks, things have been moving smoothly and slowly; then why am i scared? scared that i am doing it all wrongly, and in the future, i am going to repent. why is having a good time followed by doubts and worries? i am at peace but in the background restlessness is always buzzing.
i am not hating corporate life the way i thought i would. maybe because for now, the experience is limited to a two-month internship and there's not much workload, and i am going to go back home soon and then there is another year of college to look forward to. the stipend earned at the end of the first month did bring me glee, i have spent almost all of it. i should have saved some, but for just this time, i gave myself some liberty to spend lavishly. it is so fulfilling to be having money of your own. i took a two-day trip, got nice clothes, wore lovely lipsticks, spent plenty on eating from outside; i am living the ideal days. independence is so freeing and so lovely. but then why am i still fear-stricken? are my choices alright? am i living the right way? it is as if i am happy, but at the same time, all this happiness feels like it’s all made up.
my nerves are calmer than ever. my emotions are not haywire; they are not overwhelming the way they used to be before. but what i know about myself is that i need to complicate things inside my head first in order to be able to write. for when there are complications, i would resort to writing for detangling them.
i came to the cafe with the sole purpose of writing about the revelations i had during the weekend trip i took. i have spilled everything but that. the feelings are still fresh, so i want to save them in writing before they become a blur. i realized my family somehow instilled this fear that travelling alone is too dangerous. because when i roamed around alone in this foreign city for three hours, i had a major breakdown because the entire time i dreaded something bad would happen to me. i had a crying fit but it was essential. next time i won't be as fearful.
the conversation with the guy we travelled with made me realize the shell around me needs breaking and only i can do that. chance encounters are so beautiful. you can tune in so well with someone you talked to for just two days, and they will end up leaving a mark that will shape the upcoming instances of your life. i might never meet him again, but i will remember him, his passion for travelling, and the confidence he left in me while dropping me back.
i don't want these events of the trip to become hazy, but obviously, they won't stay intact, no matter how much i try. so for now i can just have a display in writing that it is nice to go out with people you don't know and slow trails will make living this life worthwhile. the tanning on your face and a little extra expenditure is fine sometimes. and giving life and people a chance can bring you revelations you never knew you needed. overwhelmed but the good kind.

heyo! question time!
i've noticed that in older posts, cassie has family members and friends, can you tell me more? do they know about her thing with the zodiacs? what are their relationships like with her? do they try to help her with her zodiac shenanigans or do they mainly stay out of the way?
Yes indeed! I've been chipping away at updates for the other Earth characters in terms of art, but I have enough to give you the gist at least :)
Funnily enough, I had a feeling you might ask about Cassie's family at some point, so I'd started refining their current designs because it has been a while (I'm not done yet though so here's the halfway done art for now lol)
(and old art from 2020 that I never posted lmao) Here's their ages as well if you need them: Cassie - 14 Nora - 46 Andrew - 43 Demitri - 17
Generally speaking, Cassie's family is pretty tight knit and happy, a kind of stability that becomes more and more necessary as things start to get more intense with all the star stuff! It's important to remember that Cassie was born with her star eye, so on some level her family knew that something unusual was going to happen with it eventually, even if they didn't know what at the time. The details of it were still quite the surprise once they did find out, but they each had their own ways of preparing for it or otherwise expecting it beforehand. Like her friends, they do what they can to help her, even if they're not able to directly deal with the supernatural shenanigans themselves. In many cases though, they turn out to be more useful than even they realize! Nora The pragmatic and no-nonsense mom, in stark contrast to her family of quirky dreamer types. Nora's not without her own quirks though, and despite her low tolerance for the fantastical, that doesn't mean she denies its existence either. In fact, she pays close attention to any information that she's given, even if it seems like she's not paying attention at all. She's a lot less serious than you might think, and she'd absolutely commit to a bit she didn't understand if it made her children or husband happy. She's the more detail oriented thinker between her and Andrew, and helps Cassie look at the most important stuff when trying to work out a problem, even if she herself does not understand how it all works. Or at the very least, she's able to give the most practical advice, as her world-weary attitude doesn't come from nowhere. Nora has a business job, usually something involving project management, and has a personality that one would need to survive that kind of job. She works long hours and is almost always seen with a coffee in her hand, a byproduct of her insomnia. Though the control of her anger is carefully calculated at all times, Nora is a bit of a mama bear as well, and will quite literally punch your lights out if you try to hurt her family! Cassie's moments of dry snark or sarcasm come from her, and so does a lot of her confidence in defending herself when being talked down to.
As things escalate, Nora spends more time at home to make sure that somebody is there with Cassie as much as possible, even if she can't fight the spirits for her. She worries about Cassie's safety like any good mother would, but understands that her daughter's situation is inevitable and tries to instill confidence in her instead, trusting that Cassie can handle it.
Andrew A quirky dad with nerdy interests, which lends itself well to his job as a film studies professor at a community college. If Nora is the detail thinker, Andrew is the big picture dreamer, often thinking up fantastical reasons for things or otherwise enjoying the speculative side. He approaches life with great curiosity, for better or worse! He and Nora work well as a couple for this reason, as he is able to help Nora lighten up and have fun when she needs it, whereas Nora can pull him down from Cloud Nine every so often to think more practically.
He is endlessly optimistic and cheerful, and Cassie takes after him in this regard. He encouraged Cassie's years of speculating about what the Starglass was or what it was for, often doing his own speculating as well, and they bonded over the possibilities. He worries more openly about Cassie than Nora does, but is equally as proud when Cassie shows what she can do during a spirit encounter that he witnesses.
This is him holding Cassie for the first time and, notably, her eyes are still closed here. While he was always fascinated by the implications of her star eye, he always loved Cassie for her, not her eye. He calls her "Starshine" as a nickname.
Demitri (or Demi for short) Cassie's older brother, a fact that he uses often to (playfully) joke around at her expense like most older siblings do. Unlike most siblings, however, they get along quite well. He does much to look out for her, even if the ways he does this are more casual or subtle, like giving her rides or getting her a drink at the coffee shop. When Cassie and her friends start spirit hunting at night, he will often insist on tagging along to not only give them a ride there and back, but to also not let a trio of teenage girls go into a forest or cave on their own, regardless if they find a spirit at all.
He's a laid-back artist with an interest in video games, something he and Cassie play often. His art style is influenced by graffiti and street art, something that comes up during an encounter with Chamaeleon and her gang. Though he'd be largely useless in a fight, he will still drop everything to rescue Cassie if asked, feeling some sense of responsibility as her older sibling to protect her. When cornered, he'll usually try to joke his way out of something on instinct.
-------- And now here's some info about Cassie's friends :) (with more old art lol)
These two are Cassie's closest friends, having met each other when they were 8 and forming a trio since. Here's the three of them at that age as a bonus c':
Ellie The most cowardly of the three, but this does not prevent her from tagging along purely out of care for Cassie and Leena, even if it means she'll be screaming for most of it. Bubbly and innocent in demeanour, this causes some to underestimate her, thinking she's merely airheaded. Though she'd never be able to carry a sword like Cassie does, Ellie can still be surprisingly courageous when the chips are down, even if it's sporadically. She and her family work on a farm, and that knowledge comes in handy when placating the behaviour of some of the corrupted animal spirits. When they first met, Ellie and Cassie got along quickly by virtue of having similar personalities and interests, and Ellie didn't find Cassie's eye to be all that distracting.
Leena Normally an outcast and fairly quiet overall, but bitingly sarcastic when she isn't. She cares very little about the opinions of others, though this is largely as a shield against bullying than anything else, as her interest in anything morbid or creepy made it hard for her to make friends initially. A huge fan of all things supernatural, Leena was initially drawn to Cassie purely because of her star eye, but they quickly bonded over being outcasts, albeit for vastly different reasons. Leena is very much an opposite to both Cassie and Ellie when it comes to most things, but are on the same page for the stuff that matters, at least once they were able to navigate Leena's more unusual ways of showing affection.
Leena insists on tagging along for the spirit hunting purely for the sake of something actually interesting happening in their otherwise sleepy small town, though she does deeply care for her friends in secret. Prior to Cassie's training, she was the most physically adept of the three via her skills in martial arts.
Though ultimately harmless, her friends have learned not to question her evil laughter, as Leena always seems to be plotting something. Even if that something is nothing more than planning to scare Ellie, usually with a scary story. A lot of those stories become surprisingly relevant once the spirits start appearing on Earth, at least when it comes to the rumours of their town being haunted.
#thanks for the ask!#i am very sleepy right now so i hope this is actually coherent lol#asks#tabsters#my art#my OCs#Starglass Zodiac#SGZ#long post

It's his birthday! A new beginning, new everything. Just want to start by expressing how much this man means to me. 'Twas 2018 when I came across Bangtan and it's been 4 years ever since, I wouldn't say that these years have been the easiest but their music has really, really helped me push through so many of my struggles and I honestly, really wouldn't have it any other way. They brought peace and happiness into my life and they still do. But, I just want to take this moment today to highlight how much Yoongi actually means to me.
Started from scratch, made himself who he is today, not just the way he appears to the world but who he is as a person as well. He has made it, he really has. And even though nobody can ever be flawless and perfect, he has always tried to be the best version of himself. As he has always said "You were born to be real, not to be perfect." Fame didn't change him and that's what makes him so different as an artist.
He inspires me so much, his work, his personality, his whole being. I love how he's never afraid to be who he is, and he's one of the major reasons why I'm confident or have moments where I can appreciate myself. Though, I don't know him personally, haven't met him, just looking at him makes my day better and it cheers me up. He's astoundingly gorgeous inside and out.
He is an Angel in Disguise.
His music touches my soul and those lyrics hit different. Every single song that he's worked hard for, have instilled indescribable emotions in me and I feel connected to him through this string of music. This bond that got formed because of Music.
He is someone that has really made an impact on my life and has contributed to the improvisations in my inner self. Those days of self-conflicts, low self-esteem, and sorrow turned into hope because of him and I really want to present this message as a token of gratitude to him.
I love you so much, Min. I really do, and even though I might not be able to tell you that directly, my feelings towards you are never going to change, thank you for always making me feel as though I'm good enough, and just enough and I am who I need to be. Thank you for teaching me the unwantedness of external validation and the baselessness of it all. You have enlightened me and made me attain Nirvana.
And lastly, thank you so much for making my life devoid of this monochrome, thank you so much for filling it with infinite different shades of serene and beautiful colours. I love you, happy birthday honey~ 💖💎✨

Amiclear: A Natural Path to Balanced Blood Sugar
I Used Amiclear Supplements to Manage My Blood Sugar Levels
For years, I struggled with maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. The constant monitoring, dietary restrictions, and occasional fatigue were taking a toll. I wasn't happy relying solely on medication, so I decided to explore natural alternatives. After consulting with my doctor and doing my research, I came across Amiclear Blood Sugar Supplements.
Natural Ingredients, Real Results
Amiclear's blend of natural ingredients immediately appealed to me. It contains extracts from herbs like Berberine, Gymnema Sylvestre, and Bitter Melon, all known for their blood sugar supporting properties. These ingredients work together to promote healthy insulin function and glucose metabolism [1]. Moreover, Amiclear is manufactured in a GMP-certified facility in the USA, which gave me peace of mind about the product's quality and safety.
A Simple Addition to My Routine
Taking Amiclear was incredibly easy. The capsules are small and easy to swallow, and the recommended dosage is just two capsules a day. I incorporated them seamlessly into my morning routine, taking them alongside a healthy breakfast.
Improved Energy Levels and Overall Wellbeing
Within a couple of weeks, I started noticing a positive difference. My energy levels increased significantly. I felt less sluggish throughout the day and could focus better on my tasks. Perhaps most importantly, Amiclear, in conjunction with a healthy diet and regular exercise, helped me maintain healthy blood sugar levels [2]. This positive change was confirmed by my doctor during my routine checkup.
Peace of Mind with a Money-Back Guarantee
Amiclear is backed by a 60-day money-back guarantee, which is a fantastic feature. It demonstrates the manufacturer's confidence in their product and allows you to try it risk-free. While I never needed to utilize the guarantee, it instilled a sense of trust and security in my decision.
A Natural Solution I Can Recommend
If you're looking for a natural way to manage your blood sugar levels, I highly recommend Amiclear. It's a simple, effective supplement made with natural ingredients. It has become an essential part of my health regimen, and I'm excited to continue reaping the benefits it offers. However, it's important to remember that Amiclear should not be seen as a replacement for consulting with a medical professional. Always discuss any supplements you plan to take with your doctor to ensure they are right for you.
Overall, Amiclear has been a game-changer for me. It's helped me feel better, manage my blood sugar naturally, and regain control of my health.
Disclaimer: While this review details my positive experience with Amiclear, individual results may vary. It's important to consult with your doctor before starting any new supplements.

If only you knew how the tiniest sign would have the most profound effect on my mental health. It would instill in me a sense of hope. I am willing to wait. I just want to know that I won't be waiting for nothing. I don't want false hope. I want results. I want happiness. I want the restoration of love and peace. I want what I once had. I want what WE once had. I know the feelings, thoughts, and sentiments still exist out there in the cosmos. We just need to claim what is rightfully ours. I would sacrifice so much for you. I have thought about it so deeply and so sincerely. I will sacrifice everything for you. You have told me about some of the sacrifices that your family has made. You have also told me about how it's foolish to think that a person can't start over or that they can't start again with nothing later in their lives. I agree with you now. You have always been so insightful and intuitive. I suppose I was always just afraid. How can one not be afraid of the unknown? You have always commented on how when you would sit in front of me, you would admire me when I spoke so intelligently. I don't think you ever gave yourself enough credit. Your intelligence and wisdom surpasses that of any other I have ever encountered. I desire to continue to bask in your wise thoughts and sentiments. Having you next to me would be a dream come true for me. Why must it be a dream or a wish? Why must it be some fanciful thought? Why must it be some farfetched aspiration at this point? This is something that could very well be reality. How did our reality manage to alter so gravely? I can't stand it. I can't stand not talking to you. I can't stand not having you. The depths to which I'd travel to you are probably far beyond your comprehension at the moment. You're the only one who could take my pain away right now. No one but you could make me whole again. I can't begin to feel like myself once more until I know that I have you in my life. How does life permit such cruelty to take place? How is it possible that two best friends exist in the world, and yet, despite their desire for one another, they are forcefully not permitted to talk to one another or be with one another? I can't imagine how the universe permits such evil and cruelty to exist. I truly can't fathom it in the slightest. In a world where there is no one else with whom I'd rather be than you, I am left all by myself. It's just me and my thoughts here. I sit on the couch and think about all of the amazing things we used to have. I think about the laughter and the joy. I think about the confidence sought in one another. I think about the plans for the future. I think about the hypothetical scenarios. I think about how we are the only two who understand what happened between us, and we are the only two who will ever understand. Everyone else merely tries to fill in the gaps, but we know the whole nine yards. I miss you so much. Heaven knows how much you mean to me. I love you, my dearest one. I love you with every artery that my heart possesses. I wish to one day be able to hold my head against your heart again so I can hear the seventy three beats per minute in their rawness. You always told me that I have your complete heart. You have always had all of me, and not just my heart. My soul belongs to you. It is yours for the taking. Won't you just come and claim it?

SHIFT
A sudden shift has occurred.
For the past couple of weeks, I've been held back from expressing my loneliness and yearnings to feel alive, much like how I felt back in February.
Many things have surfaced, some of which, if I hadn't known about, might have made me happier. However, these events were inevitable.
I once believed I had found what I was searching for, only to realize that I've actually discovered what I should be seeking.
I feel quite sad because the potentials I once saw now seem uncertain. I'm puzzled by whether I've consistently chosen to overlook the warning signs, merely because I noticed the positive aspects first. Previous versions of myself would likely have moved on swiftly after identifying what put me off. But with him, it's different.
I can't fathom why it's so challenging to move past and forget. I tend to focus on and see more of him, rather than letting one aspect define his entirety. The phrase "I used to think I was smart" resonates deeply with me...
Despite my earnest efforts to move forward and release all the wishes I've whispered in my prayers regarding him, his presence has a calming effect on me. He brings me happiness. The tension within me dissipates when he's around. I feel alright, more than alright.
He instills a sense of peace in me, which is why I find myself in a state of confusion, wondering if I'm forming judgments about him too hastily.
I can't predict how long I'll be able to manage these feelings I have for him, but I beseech the Lord for understanding and insight.
I pray that he is the person I've always dreamed of. And if he's not, I pray to the Lord that I won't end up feeling yet again the person who let them find their right one. I hope to avoid finding myself in a situation again where I question what's lacking within me. I pray that I won't experience the same sadness again due to a situation I never intended to be a part of. If he isn't the person I believed him to be or doesn't possess the qualities I typically seek, I fervently ask God to shield my heart and grant me the strength to move forward, fueled by the self-love I've cultivated over the years.
I direct my prayers to God, seeking the right person, confident that He comprehends precisely what I'm seeking and who is destined to enter my life.

i don’t want to say i have mommy issues. but i feel like my mother’s issues with me have destroyed me beyond repair.
my mom has instilled in to my sister and i the importance of confidence. she emphasized we should be confident, we’re pretty, smart, leaders, etc. yet it feels like these traits she only valued when presented in the way that she deemed appropriate. it feels like she wants us to be confident regardless of what she what us to do, but it is obvious she wants us to do it in specific way. i love my natural eyebrows. yet, my mom always remarks about how i should get something done to them. little things like that over 22 years changes how you treat your own self confidence. she wants me to be a leader, but dislikes most of the decisions i make for myself.
it feels like i won’t ever meet the expectations of who she wants me to be. my sister once said to me “yeah, i’m not saying mom wants to be me, but she really doesn’t want to be you.” i feel my sister and i fill very different roles in my mother’s brain and the way she lives through us is thus very different. i feel my my mother strongly views me as an extension of her. she sees me as what someone who she could be. while she still sees my sister as an extension of herself, she still recognizes my sister as her own person.
i wanted to go to the store, i wanted to get into fashion, i liked leaving the house. but we always fought at the store, my fashion interests were never considered, i was difficult. so i started avoiding the store. “you’re so lazy”, “you never leave the house”. i just felt that this wasn’t a thing me and my mother could bond on. this was my sister’s and mom’s thing, and when i was involved, i ruined it.
my mother never seemed to understand why i never went, but to me it felt obvious. i don’t like to cry in the dressing room. i don’t like having to dress business casual in fucking middle school. i don’t like the clothes that i feel comfortable in to be constantly criticized. now i go to the store more frequently, and my mom sees it as me “growing out of my shopping aversion”.
i use to try so hard to be who my mother wanted. i would cry at night wondering why i was the way i was. i desperately wanted to “stop being difficult”. i wanted the closeness her and my sister had. but after a while, i got tired. i stopped trying. it feels this has made things worse.
i realized that i can not have both my happiness and my mother’s in regards to my life decisions. a year or two ago the conversation of kids came up, and i expressed i didn’t want any. my mother burst into tears, “i just don’t understand why you wouldn’t want the relationship that we have”. she believes that my queerness is a result of the people i am around. she believes that how i act isn’t me, but a facade. “what happened to my sweet girl”. the sweet girl in question was 5 and quite frankly, i do not want her to exists inside of me no longer.
i was not planned. my parents make that very clear. my dad would have finished college. my mom wouldn’t have had her body messed up. my mom would have been better off financially. i honestly believe if my parents did not have me, they wouldn’t have gotten married, and would have been much happier. my mom mentioned how we were super poor in the past. “i would have to eat of the scraps of food you didn’t finish”. it feels like i am trying to pay off the burden for a mistake i did not make. and i feel like the burden and strain i paced on my mother justifies the distain she shows me at times.
i love my mother though. when i need her, i can depend on her. and that makes me even more distraught. i lover her so and i do not want to think of her negatively. i want to be able to just forget the hurt and move on, but i can’t. i so desperately want to be a good daughter, but i am doing such a bad job at it. my mother is sick, and i am trying to be there for her. it feels now every bad thing doesn’t matter. i just feel confused.
i try not to edit these posts too much. so i am going to stop here. everything in my brain feels cloudy and i feel so confused. i feel that the cloudiness i am feeling is showing up in the writing as i type this. i may revisit this and reflect in more detail when i calm down or am in a different head space
