Anon are you talking about me. I'm not saying that Conclave are good people. They all suck ass. They were responsible for thousands of deaths in Babylon. And potentially way more deaths that we can't account for that for sure happened within the 200 years they were doing their shady shit.

I mean, this has to be me, no one else talks about Conclave here.

Anon I'm not the most bright guy when it comes to analysis but I do comprehend the fact that Conclave are bad people.

Does that mean Chronus deserves to not have the opportunity to grow as a better person when travelling with Faust. I say no!

C'mon. GG is a series about growth. Faust used to be a serial killer. And he got better through his efforts. Just because Chronus' kill count is way past what Faust's may have been, doesn't mean that he is barred from ever being able to become a better person.

If doctor Faust, beloved doctor that really wanted to kill Zato because he was responsible for the death of his patient, but didn't, decided to still stick around with Chronus post strive credits, who was similarly responsible for her death? That means Faust sees something in the guy. Faust has some amount of forgiveness for Chronus, or at least, able to look at Chronus more than just his crimes.

I haven't said Conclave are not terrible people just because they've been used by Ariels. I've just stating that That Is A Thing That Happened. They were forced to try to create a solution where Ariels wouldn't kill everyone. Was it a good solution? I mean. GG Sign showed. Obviously. No! It was shitty! They tried their best and their best was a bunch of bullshit! It sucked balls! I'm just saying that they are also not Big Villains That Are Evil Just Because They Are. They have a reason! And they tried to do good! And it went to shit. Just like Asuka! Just like Bedman! Just like I-no!

Also. For Bedman. Yeah he sucks dick. But anon. Just because he is "mega genius guy" doesn't mean he's unable to be manipulated.

No one. Is past being used.

Anyone can be manipulated. No matter how smart someone could be. No one is immune to propoganda.

Of course, its perfectly fine for you to dislike Bedman! Because yeah, he was a dick! And he killed people. He puts on a thing of being mightier than whoever he's speaking to.

But we, audience, are able to understand why he does what he does. And that garners sympathy points. And, he is, a teenager that was alone, asleep, and trusted the first adult that was able to get him bodily autonomy.

People are going to lean towards being apologetic towards Bedman. For understandable reasons, such as resonating with him because of their own past. I'm sure there's gonna be someone who looks over his crimes and say he did nothing wrong. And I mean? Sometimes that's as a joke. Sometimes that's as a way to convey that the person doesn't care that the character has committed various wrongdoings, they still love them.

TL;DR: Anon I have never said Conclave is without faults. And also Bedman is created to be a sympathetic character, it's natural people are going to lean into wanting to let go of his crimes. I'm almost sure whoever you're talking about ignoring Bedman having done terrible things is a minority.

Faust and Chronus actually came up in the Q&A with Daisuke that was held earlier today at Japan Expo in France!

I thought it was neat, so here's my rough translations of what was being said in Japanese. (question was at this time stamp)

Can you tell us any anecdotes or funny stories about Faust?

A:

Just Faust himself is already funny, right? But well, this is a story we haven't depicted yet, but after the story of Strive, Faust and a character called Chronus end up continuing to travel together for a long time. (…)

Going with that- Chronus is a character with a very rigid personality, but through living with Faust, I imagine he would gradually become softer over time in a slice of life comedy-like scenario.

I think they wanted reign over all of humanity and. And words from Zato. Become gods. (Unsure what exactly this godhood means other than having some sort of control over humanity)

So by becoming 'gods', they could protect humanity from whatever Universal Will could do the next time it 'manifested' into the normal plane. I think.

Also their whole thing with making sure humanity's growth was halted. I'm not sure if they knew their teacher made UW, but I guess they figured if humanity had free will, it'd have more risk of leaving a chance for it to strike and. Yk kill everyone.

With Ariels,,

My interpretation that she wanted to kill humanity from the start, but Chaos influenced her to become human and take apart humanity from the inside.

I'm mostly thinking about Chronus' dialogue in Faust's Rev arcade mode, how he says that a purely logical being wouldn't be this observant in their actions. Or something or other. Unless it became human.

Where would it get the idea to become human.? So I figure, maybe this is where Chaos put his influence on UW.

And (again. My interpretation) that most of its time playing as Sanctus Maximus Populi was by its own, just that it had a bit of a guiding hand by Chaos in some form.

Do. Take what I said with Ariels with grains of salt. I haven't gotten my mind fully into her yet. And I need to reread Strive's script.

Are people confused with what happened with Happy Chaos, the Universal Will, and the Conclave? Because I thought it was all sorted out. Here's the order of events if I remember correctly:

The Universal Will overthinks its goal and becomes intent on wiping out humanity

It tries to manifest outside the Backyard, causing Y2k.

The Orginal goes to the Backyard and seemingly disappears.

The Conclave come to power and create the Sanctus Populi.

Skip to the Crusades.

I-no is created.

The Orginal takes half her power, but The Universal Will combines the two, creating Happy Chaos.

Happy Chaos fucks off to commit war crimes under Auska's name.

The Universal Will possess the current Sanctus Maximus Populi some time before Ariels receives the title.

The Universal Will is passed from every Sanctus Maximus Populi up until Ariels.

The Crusades end and the Conclave's plan to revive Justice with their souls begins.

Most of the Conclave dies, beginning Ariels' plan for the absolute world.

Ariels takes Happy Chaos to gain his knowledge, but goes insane.

Afterwards, the rest Xrd and Strive play out.

Is this right, or am I something confused?

Where I got these, one folder is of Tillman's Google Drive, and the other folder is Solradguy's archive of it (animations taken from Tillman). Some animations are more 'cut up' in Tillman's Drive compared to the latter.

If Chaos was partially controlling Ariels to do her shenanigans, that would imply he's partially responsible for the manipulation Ariels did on the Conclave. Which is. I. Ahaha.

Oh what a funny trickster he is, if he did that knowingly. What a jolly guy. What a nice teacher!

He'd probably be compliant in it since his philosophy is that humans need a Big Bad to unite them all to Get Them, but damn? Making the villains of the story be your own students?

I wonder if Chronus knows about what happened to his teacher... And his current ideologies, in turn. Can you fucking imagine that?

The supposed Messiah, that taught you magic, dissapeared, leaving the heavy task of saving humanity from the Universal Will in your and your fellow Apostles' hands. (Not only that, THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING THE UNIVERSAL WILL IN THE FIRST PLACE. If Chronus happens on that info too, oh lord!)

He was the one pulling strings, making you and your colleagues that were desperate enough to save humanity that could only find a solution that effectively ripped humanity of its freedom and creativity. He was the one that cast you into the role of villain. When you were trying your damndest to do what he tasked you all to do.

I don't think Chronus is a man that gets angry, considering how compliant he was with his probable death at the hands of Faust by the after credits, and how he's just shown chilling. Like he pretty much accepted his and Conclave's defeat with grace, I think. While admitting to Asuka in Rev that he still thinks what he thought was the right thing, thought fate disagreed. (I personally take this as him not exactly thinking it was The Solution since he doesn't seem that? Bitter about fate and its plans for him. He just went it is what it is, gotta go to Asuka because he's the only other guy that'd know how to stop this.)

But damn? I feel like he'd get. Pissed. About that, if he ever found out. That was your whole purpose, what you've been living for, for about the last 2 centuries. And it was all just made as an obstacle for humanity to get over? One that cost your colleagues (friends? Partners? Whatever his relationship with the Conclave were) lives?

(You ever think he gets a bit bitter about Asuka and Ramlethal because they also fucked up real bad but their loved ones are still alive and relatively happy? Sure they had some consequences, but in the end, those they cared about got to live, despite their mistakes?)

I'm normal about this totally.

Anyway playable Chronus for Strive please so I can kick Chaos' ass. For Chronus.
