“requiem for methuselah” crazy ass episode for many reasons. Kirk is being fully insane, like I don’t actually think, even controlling for how quickly and easily and readily he seems to fall in love with anybody at the slightest encouragement, that he’d go that bonkers for that android woman he just met while everyone on the ship was this close to dying, but that’s neither here nor there, because in the background you’ve got an equally but much more subtly insane episode for Spock, who extremely uncharacteristically admits to experiencing an emotion (or nearly experiencing, whatever) and that emotion is ENVY of all things. And then spends the rest of the episode warning Kirk away from this new love interest (something that doesn’t usually happen, even when Kirk has very inadvisable love interests) and is, in the end, the person who accurately identifies that Rayna’s competing love for Kirk and Flint is ultimately what overwhelms and destroys her with the most killer line in maybe history???

And then to wrap it up we get an equally uncharacteristic sort of denouement scene (TOS loooves to cut an episode off right after the actual climax, leaving little time for falling action or character reflection, or to stick a sitcom-y button on the end where the gang all smiles and laughs at their misadventures and everything resets to zero, which is not a criticism, it’s just the style of that era of tv, honestly) where Kirk is literally miserable over Rayna’s death (again, kind of unusual for a lot of his love interests, he tends to be able to move on pretty quickly) and Spock goes to see him and he falls asleep right in front of Spock (also odd) and then when Bones comes in to give the final word on Flint, Spock waves him off from waking the Captain (tender) and Bones gives him that awful speech about how it’s sadder that Spock can’t even imagine the love Kirk felt for this random android woman than it is that Kirk lost her in the first place (debatable but also rude) and how his great tragedy is that he can’t love at all like they can and how all he wishes is that Kirk could forget about all of this and move on. AND THEN, to have Bones leave and Spock go over to Kirk and very gently, tenderly, reluctantly touch him and put his hand to his forehead and tell him to forget and HAVE THAT BE THE END OF THE EPISODE??? What am I supposed to do with that??

I wanna rant about how people will use the term "seperate the art from the artist" and then talk about fucking JK Rowling however I think I'll sound too much like an asshole so I'm just going to say I think it's super fucked up when people say "seperate the art from the artist" when talking about a bigot who is alive and whos bigotry is so ingrained in their works that even when they aren't actively involved in something it is still present. It shows a misunderstanding of what the term means and a disregard for the people that person is harming and in the case of Harry Potter has become an excuse for people to continue supporting and funding a known transphobe and all round bigot and her works that aren't even that fucking good.

One thing that surprises me is that there are countless fanon and canon ways that explain how new transformers are born, no one decided to steal the "build-a-baby" idea from the Robots(2005) movie.

So apparently my college library also has (I presume) all of Transformers Animated, G1, and Prime. As well as most of the movies, including the 86 one

I mean I guess I already have access to all of them via my pirating site, but I can now watch them legally, if I rent out a DVD player and get myself a TV (or just watch it on my computer). Which admittedly is more work than just pulling it up on my iPad. But I guess if I get a TV later on, I can go watch it. Or I can bring one home with me for a break, since you can rent DVDs for 7 days at a time

But yeah, I can watch these all legally and for free if I wanted to

Also follow-up on Volume 1 of MTMTE, it isn’t in a different building, it’s with the other ones, it’s just that it was missing because someone had checked it out. Apparently it was pretty recently, so I have to assume it was someone else who got on the Transformers hype after TFOne. But also because of that, it means it isn’t due back until February. But considering that all the other ones are still there, I imagine this person is gonna be checking them out one at a time, and returning them after finishing, so it probably won’t be that long until I can get my hands on it

Atom just sitting on the floor watching a scratched DVD of Surf's Up 2: Wavemania on a busted old television as Tenma awkwardly stares at him. There's a bowl of spaghettios on the floor!? Atom can't even eat. Even if he could he wouldn't fuckin eat canned cold spaghettios... Should he... Say something? Throw it away?

Nah... just sit down and watch Surf's Up 2 and wait for Ochanomizu to come back in eight hours.
