Prince Caspian rewatch notes:
-Caspian has a sun on his chemise and Ray like embroidery, which I feel like is a parallel to Peter and a symbol of Caspian's destiny to take on Peter's mantle
- Also a possible reference to Aslan, perhaps it's Dr Cornelius' influence or a suggestion that there might be more part Narnian (or Archen) servants in Miraz's castle
-Caspian's naivety about Miraz's intentions may have been more believable if Ben Barnes wasn't in his mid 20s
-When Trumpkin first sees Caspian he's very obviously got a rubber knife
-Susan is reading a copy of the Picture Post that was published on December 9th 1939 featuring a photo of a girl in the Land Army, so as this was probably 1941 this is an old issue
-This definitely shows her practical and logical nature and might suggest that her role as Queen in Narnia may have focused on the practical elements of farming, land management, supplying their armies etc
- There are at least four schools shown in the Underground scene, St Finbars, Hendon House, a boy's school with a red uniform and a possibly mixed sex school with a grey uniform
-St Finbars' crest is a varient on the Tudor Rose - a lot of the Narnian leather belts/straps have rose motifs
-Hendon house has a cross with three stars over it, which also feels very Narnian and looks quite knightly
-Cair Paravel's ruins look to be in pretty good shape for being 1000s of years old. In our world, when a castle is abandoned, people tend to repurpose the stones and timbers. However, due to the Telmarines' superstition they probably left it completely alone
-There's a big wild rose bush covering the ruins, adding to the rose motif
-Susan is the only one who's throne is partially intact, and she's the only one who survives the series
-On the Telmarine Lord's thrones there is a sigil of their mask-helmet over a horizontal spear with a a personalised image beneath. Miraz has tentacles wrapping around shields, probably a nod to their piratical origins
-Lucy's dress sleeves look like an odd length, as if they were 3/4 length sleeves on a taller person
-Peter Dinklige's accent has definitely improved by the time GoT comes round
- The fact that Cornelius is a doctor suggests that there is a university somewhere in the wider Narnian world to award such a title
-I really like the fact that Edmund and Susan basically have their heads right next to each other
-The trees that move first for Lucy are silver birches. They're one of the last trees to loose their leaves in the winter and they start to bud relatively early

I wonder if Edmund ever learned that the Turkish Delight the queen gave him was enchanted.
How long did he think it was his fault, his greed, his heart, that decided to betray his family?
Did he die thinking it was all his fault? Did he die with the thought that he had been selfish enough to turn on his family for a pastry?
How long did he have to live with that guilt, or did Aslan assuage him of that with the conversation they had after getting him back from the witch?
Did knowing it was enchanted even help? Or did the guilt still eat away at him?

I love it whenever I come across a post about how the pevensies are holding up when they return to England or how other people notice they have changed, it just feel so nostalgic and makes me feel connected to them in another level
So if anyone writes something like that, please do tag me, I’ll be delighted to read it

Time moves differently in Narnia. Four kids who have probably never been away from either of their parents are now separated from both. Dad's off at war, mom is hunkering down, scared, alone, in London. The blast that destroys their house could come at any moment.
Keep in mind that the kids have NO CLUE when they enter Narnia (or at anytime until they exit the wardrobe at the end) that time passes differently at home than in Narnia.
They must be worried sick about their mother, who probably thinks they are dead. All their friends, relatives, teachers, everyone must be frantic with worry over their disappearance. They probably assume the Professor is getting questions from the police, and how would he explain that the children really haven't GONE ANYWHERE but that they aren't here?
As disappointing as a life of being children again must have been, I would think it would be a relief to finally know that no one mourned you, no one missed you. What a relief that must have been, even in the midst of the hurt at having to leave your beloved Narnia behind.

The first chapter of Meadow Sweet Fennel is out! This is the sequel to White Catchfly and the second story of the Larch series.
After their return to Narnia, the Pevensies navigate a life so different and so familiar. ___
"He wasn’t trembling when he stopped, he was shaking from the shoulders to the still scabbed knuckles. He felt like a fool. He’d known beauty in this life with these feelings in another world drifting further and further away from him. His siblings had loved him and bolstered him in this. But things were different now. Now they had parents to give grandchildren and laws to abide by. And Edmund was tired."

So I’ve been in a dragon rider mood for the past few week and I’ve decided to try my hand at a few oneshots involving Lucerys because if he can’t live in Westeros, I’m going to have him living it up in other fantasy worlds.
So far these are the ideas for crossovers I have:
HOTD/Songs of chaos- Lucerys Velaryon/Holt Cook
Holt may not have met many dragons, but he knew that the boy and his odd dragon were not from this land. Ash was just excited to meet another dragon that may not shun him for his blindness.
HOTD/Eragon- Lucerys Velaryon/Eragon Shadeslayer
The day he found that beautiful blue stone in the forest, he also stumbled upon a boy with moonlight curls and a white pearlescent beast in a deep sleep.
HOTD/Narnia- Lucerys Velaryon/Edmund Pevensie
Let me know anymore fantasy books/tv shows! I still have priory of the orange tree and Narnia on my TBR list

The Crows Nest
Edmund was cold in a way he hadn't been for years. The kind of cold which seeps into your bones and coils in your soul, a cold blooded reptile which leeches all the warmth you have ever felt or will ever feel again. The kind of cold which only the White Witch was capable of producing.
But she was dead, he had seen Aslan kill her. She couldnt be here, in the crows nest of the Dawn Treader. It was impossible.
“Nothing is impossible in Narnia, foolish boy. You think you can ever really kill evil? You think you will ever be rid of me? I am with you always, as is your treachery.”
He blinked, and there she was. Her skin milk pale and her hand clutching her wand. Her hair was floating around her head like vipers, waiting to strike. She was staring at him, eyes reading every thought he has ever had. Even though Edmund could see through her, even though he knew she was intangible and couldn't touch him, suddenly he was years younger and looking up at her from the dungeon floor, begging her not to kill his siblings. He could feel the chains digging into his ankles, the thirst clawing at his throat.
“You’re not real. You’re just what the mist is making me see. You’re dead.” His voice was shaking, and he knew she heard it.
“Edmund. You don't really believe that do you? You have seen just how thin the veil between the worlds is. You know how powerful I am. Do you really think I couldn't find my way back? That I would ever let myself be stuck in death?”
Edmund shook his head. “No, even if you were back, you don't have any power over me. Aslan took care of my debt, and my siblings have forgiven me. We talked about it, and they forgave me.” Even Edmund could hear how desperate his voice was getting. Of course the White Witch picked up on it.
“Who are you trying to convince, you naive boy? You think they care about you? You betrayed them for sweets, Edmund. They don't care about you at all. Even before you betrayed them, what did they think of you? Peter called you stupid, Lucy called you mean, Susan called you greedy. And they were right. You think you have changed? Look how you acted on Deathwater Island, you haven't changed. You are still just as greedy as you were. How can they care about someone like you?”
Edmund let out a gasp, refusing to let the tears gathering in his eyes fall. “No, you're wrong. They do care about me. They love me.”
“Then where are they? Why are you facing me alone again?”
A sob escaped Edmund as he turned away from the Witch. She was right. Where was Lucy? Caspian?
“Would they leave you alone in the dark if they cared about you? Why would they send you up here to face me alone unless they wanted you to lose? Come and join me, Edmund. What do you have left there anyway? Join me and I will give you your own kingdom. You will never have to stand in someone's shadow again. I can give you power, Edmund. You know that. Join me.”
She stretched her hand out to him, and his mind flashed back to the tomb, her hand breaking through the ice to reach out to Caspian, to Peter. Why had he stopped her that time? She could have helped them win so much faster, so many lives would have been saved if he was less selfish and just let her come back.
“That's right Edmund. The only thing stopping me from helping is that I need someone here with me. You could help Edmund. Join me.”
He knew that something was wrong, but he also knew that she was right. She was powerful, and he was a bad person. Maybe if he joined her he could stop her from the inside. He took a step towards her, bumping into the rail around the edge of the crows nest. He could almost reach her, if he could just stretch a little farther…
“Edmund!”
Caspians voice rang out, clear like a bell and ringing just as loud. Edmund blearily looked down at where Caspian and Lucy were staring at him in horror, then looked back to where his feet were slightly lifted off the ground of the crows nest. He was stretched out, reaching for the Witch's hand. It was right in front of him, he was almost there.
“It’s ok Caspian,” he shouted down, a small smile on his face. “This is the only way. Don't worry, I’ll make sure you guys are all ok!”
And with that, he took the witches hand.
