wanted an artstyle so i called byakkomaru to help

since he still doesn't really have a canonical face and no one knows for sure whether he's marbas or raum anyway i can do whatever i want.

Ah, Gekkouin would look down momentarily surprised, before threading his hand through the white hair. "Sorry, it's nothing, I didn't mean to wake you." It was rare for the two of them to find time to relax like this, it'd be a shame to worry the overgrown cat endlessly over ... trivial matters.

'Weird dreams' wasn't the most accurate term for the kind of dreams he had. It was more of... unusual dreams. Gekkouin recalls seeing Byakkomaru in those dreams and... he was missing his stripes and tiger ears, and Gekkouin was missing his own horns and face markings too. He can never recall what they did in those dreams, but whenever he woke up from such dreams, a longing nostalgic feeling would linger in his chest. These dreams were also the reason why he's been seeking Byakkomaru out so much these days, a futile attempt to relieve that longing.

When the large tiger began moving them around, Gekkouin would frown displeased at his comfortable position being changed. He would be faced to face with Byakkomaru's sharp eyes and he would let out a huff. "You're making this into a bigger deal than it is. It's just a passing a comment, nothing more." Honestly, was he always so anxious? No different than a regular fat house cat then. "If you're not going back to sleep, I'm gonna go play games. Get off."

   He  knows  too  well  what  that  look  on  Shinya  face  speaks  to.  He’s  thinking  ,  and  it’s  not  hard  to  figure  out  what  it’s  likely  about.  His  heart  twists  in  his  chest  just  thinking  how  DANGEROUSLY  CLOSE  Shinya  is  to  figuring  out  the  TRUTH  in  the  car.  Shinya  has  always  been  clever  ,  more  than  people  might  think.  And  as  much  as  he  despises  the  thing  clinging  to  Guren  ,  she  was  right.  Shinya  can’t  find  out.  And  if  Byakkomaru  does  nothing  ,  Shinya  just  might  figure  out.

   “  Shinya  ~  “  Byakkomaru  rumbled  fondly  as  he  pushed  himself  up  from  where he  was  sprawled  on  Shinya’s  bed.  He  gave  a  smile  as  he  gently  bumped  his  forehead  against  his  human’s.  “  You’re  not  paying  attention  to  me.  “  An  ear  flicked  as  he  sulked  playfully.  It  helped  that  he  could  naturally  demand  attention  now  and  again  ,  so  this  is  a  normal  move.

   Byakkomaru  pulled  back  for  a  moment  to  regard  Shinya. Then  a  mischievous  light  glimmered  in  his  eyes  and  he  ducked  forwards  to  press  a  kiss  to  Shinya’s  lips  ,  a  hand  catching  Shinya’s  chin  to  hold  him  in  place.

   A  perfect  distraction.  But  was  it  for  SHINYA  or  was  it  for  HIMSELF  ?  He  doesn’t  want  to  think  about  it.

   He  pulled  back  from  the  kiss  with  an  even  brighter  gleam  in  his  eyes  before  he  pushed  Shinya  down  to  pin  him  against  as  the  demon  hovers  over  him.  “  I  don’t  like  being  neglected  ,  Shinya.  “  He  purred  with  a  fanged  grin  -  it’s  all  in  play.  Even  now  Byakkomaru  was  gentle  as  he  leaned  down  to  kiss  Shinya  again.  His  forehead  ,  his  cheeks  ,  anywhere  that  Byakkomaru  could.  As  if  he  might  kiss  away  the  thoughts  in  Shinya’s  head  and  his  own  fears  in  his  chest.

   Affection  filled  the  gestures  as  he  hovered  above  Shinya  with  a  soft  smile.  A  hand  rose  to  gently  brush  over  Shinya’s  cheek  ,  feeling  his  smooth  skin  and  the  warmth  of  a  living  being.  Then  he  bent  down  ,  pressing  a  sweet   ,  tender  kiss  to  Shinya’s  lips  again.

gureshin au where Byakkomaru isn’t Shinya’s cat but guardian, either adoptive or relative maybe even dad. Who is still protective over Shinya and can get along with anyone just like Shinya, but not Guren. Nope, he can smile and talk to everyone can even become friends with Gurens dad, but Guren has to earn Byakkomarus blessing to be with Shinya.

                 ‘ oh, nothing in particular. i’m not as hateful as my mother and my sisters. ’ he trilled. he offered a small grin to the tiger, elongated canines bared to suggest his words and actions contradicted like always. those broad shoulders then shrugged and he went back to filing his nails. ‘ i live my life, i live to eat and unfortunately i enjoy feasting on humans. ’ it wasn’t necessarily unfortunate to him, he had to eat somehow. but, he certainly didn’t seek the attention like his sisters had. he lived much quieter, which spoke miles with how popular he was among others. 

                 golden pools flashed the demon a curious glance as he continued to tend to his fingers. ‘ do you want me to do something about it? maybe that’s why you’re so aggressive. ’ he chuckled. he flicked the file towards byakkomaru, using it as a pointer. ‘ maybe you should stop being so curious about what i’m going to do, because what i’d REALLY like to do is have a bite of you. but, i don’t see myself winning that fight. pity for me, but i can find food elsewhere. i’m not sure a cat would be so tasty in my mouth, anyways. ’

"Shinya!" A startled cry left Byakkomaru before he landed in the water, absolutely soaked as he reemerged. And then, a plan. Abruptly he managed to launch himself out of the water and race over, picking up his master in one scoop and giving an oh so sweet smile. "My kind, adorable master~ " Byakkomaru purred the words with a grin as he started walking towards the water's edge. "Since you were so kind to cool me off, why don't I return the favor?" He's holding Shinya over the water, grinning.

            oh no didn’t even begin to describe the situation. add this to the list of things he should have thought through ( not a LONG list but a list ).             it was hilarious to watch byakkomaru hit the water and yelp at the surprise, he had been wondering if the tiger acted much like domesticated cats or not…the experiment was inconclusive as the startled cry that left the other’s lips was indiscernible to be surprise or fear.            when he saw byakkomaru stand and face him, shinya should have had the forethought to BOLT ( albeit, byakkomaru is faster and stronger than he is ) but that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to STRUGGLE.            struggle he did, until he was held over the edge of the water and shinya’s motions abruptly stopped. “ you wouldn’t, ” he hisses, hand gripping the other tightly. if he was going to get dumped in the water, he was going to drag byakkomaru down with him. a petty HABIT.            “ i don’t need cooling down, i’m quite cool. cool as a cucumber, ” he said, “ now set me down on land, or face my wrath, ” he demands, not keen on getting wet while still semi — dressed.

Byakkomaru turns his head towards Gekkoin at the question, ears perking up as he turns in the direction that was being pointed out to him. Gekkouin wanted him to go check? The tiger demon can't exactly fathom WHY this request was being made of him. He gives a snort.

" For someone who likes to call me the lazy one, you sure are acting lazy. " Byakkomaru remarks with a shake of his head.

Words aside, he does still do as he is asked. He pushes himself up from his spot and starts to head over towards the other room that was opposite of were he had been. Was it because Gekkouin actually wanted him to check for something, or was it a distraction? But if it was a distraction, then what was it a distraction from? That only serves to raise the demon's curiosity. Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back.

" What exactly am I checking over here for, little birdie ~ ? " He asks, unable to resist the playful teasing name as he peers over the scenery. The question should be a good determent to discovering if there was something he was actually supposed to be doing, or if this was nothing more than a way to get the tiger occupied with something else. Either way, he'd entertain it for now.

Pretty random but I was thinking about peaceful afternoons for Shinya and Byakkomaru after a hard battle days before. Shinya could be reading Sōseki Natsume’s “I am a Cat” and Byakkomaru would be lazing his head carefully on Shinya’s stomach.
