God so I’m rewatching early s13 and the thing is trying to have Jack come out of that whole situation without significant emotional damage? It’s too late by the end of 13x04. We’ve already lost before Cas even comes back. And specifically the reason we lose Then is because 13x04 when Jack comes to the conclusion that he can win re Dean’s treatment of him. Before then – even though he thinks he Dean might be right – he lets himself be outwardly resentful of Dean’s behaviour towards him (and even Sam’s!), but then in 13x04 he learns “no you can get Dean’s approval if you try hard enough”, and so this is when his behaviour changes. His inclination to express resentment declines massively because expressing resentment and holding things against Dean isn’t conducive to Winning at this and he’s established he can Win.

And so then when Cas comes back in tombstone, he doesn’t have the opportunity to try and undo Dean’s work, or to see that he needs to remove Jack from the situation, because Jack no longer sees the value in communicating any of what happened to him. Cas obviously does have a tendency to excuse Dean’s behaviour both in general and specifically towards Jack, but a big difference between him and Sam in this regard is that while Sam does this because he feels trapped in the situation, and doesn’t see any option other than trying to mitigate things as best he can, for Cas a significant motivating factor (alongside his low self worth meaning he doesn’t see very much wrong with poor treatment of him) is Enjoyment in Dean’s company, which excusing Dean’s actions is sometimes necessary to facilitate. He does brush off Dean pointing the gun at Jack in tombstone (in order to keep a light, comfortable vibe), but because he doesn’t feel unable to leave in the way that Sam does, if he perceived Jack as significantly distressed by Dean’s behaviour (especially before the situation is established and he feels invested in maintaining it), he is capable of performing essentially a cost/benefit analysis and taking Jack and leaving. But this doesn’t happen, because after 13x04 Jack no longer sees any advantage to conveying Dean’s behaviour towards him, and so Cas never finds out.

Anyway Jack calls for Cas and wakes him up from the empty because he’s distressed by Dean’s behaviour towards him, but by the time Cas gets back it’s already too late and the damage is done.

We know destiel shippers don't care about Castiel but a few days ago, I realised, how they aldo actually hate the confession and I want talk more about it.

Many shippers treat Castiel's confession as a crime against Dean Winchester

Now there are tons of posts about how horrible, selfish and even abusive, Castiel confessing his love to Dean on death bed was.

And You can always find posts and HCs and fics about characters like Sam and Claire and Charlie or Bobby and even Jack just ripping Cas for the confession.

Most shipper also loathe that castiel was the one who confessed first. They just can't accept that. There are piles upon piles of arguments and stories about how Dean confessed in purgatory trip 2, or worse how THE PRAYER, that is actually Dean making excuses for his anger instead of accepting he was unfair and he hurt Cas and "forgiving" Cas for comes crimes that were never his, is Dean's love confession.

Here is how some of this gets turned into a fic

Let me first say I respect all fanfic writers and I am not saying the docs are "bad" in any way. I am just making a point

Castiel is brought back from Empty and dropped either at the bunker of somewhere on Earth by Jack- he is human- Jack offers him half explanations.and tell him to stay with Dean- Dean is cold at their reunion- his reaction goes from surprise to either anger or ignorance- Sam give him a waer welcom and then tears into Cas for dying on dean- characters like claore and Jody do the same- Cas tried to accomodate to an increasingly suffocating life in bunker- he prays to jack recives no reply- his girf at his son having to take on such a huge responsibility and how being there for him is mentioned is two lines, never talk d about again- Jack comes to Dean, who has been moody and sulking, and comforts Dean tells him to take all the time he needs- Cas tries to leave the bunker cause he feels he isn't wanted, and funnily enough the author who has benn making pretty much everyone hostile towards cas treats him wanting to leave as a bad decision- Cas isn't allowed to leave- the fic ends with Dean punching Cas (a very common and beloved phenomenon in post 15x18 fics) and kissing him but he never says "I love you" to Cas

This isn't anti anyone, this is just a observation of how the fandom at large views a few things. Try not to be offended and even if you are don't come to replies. Just scroll past 🙏

The thing is that I do think John is a terrible parent. And his canonical failings should make for tasty angsty fanfics. Trauma-dumping on Dean. Disowning Sam. Fathering a third son he in no way prepared to raise. Not telling Sam as soon as he found out about the demon blood.

Unfortunately, when people add tags like "John Winchester's A+ Parenting" or "Bad Parent John Winchester," it usually mean that they're about to operate on the assumption that he, like, molested Dean or kicked in Sam's ribs. Do I want to read explorations of how John's canon shittiness affected the bros? Yes. Do I want to read about how him acting like an unrecognizable character affected them? Not so much.

Probably a date at home, ordering food and watching movies with you, the while cozy treatment.

Picking you Up at your home and ordering the take away on some restaurat, picking a cofee and getting to the bunker with you.

Eating while watching bad movies, anything you want to see and laughing cause It's probably a bad horror movie.

Reading in silence with your bodies entaged and sharing little mischevious looks.

And of course, at some point you start to make out and now you are trapped with him, una le to go back home.

Dean Winchester

Riding with baby, no doubt.

Like Sam, he orders some food with you, but instead of going to the bunker, he gets you to a nice and calm spot, far from society and organize a picnic on top of the impala.

If the weather it's good, there IS probably a river or lake near by to swim.

If the weather it's bad you stay inside the impala, eating and playing cards,

And like Sam, he can get a little to much needy and even if you are outside on the lake or inside the impala, he Will start to make out with you and you Will end Up getting frisky on the backseat.

Castiel

Probably at first he doesnt get the concept of date s he follows you with your daily routines.

Now, that he knows what a deate IS, he realizes that his perfect date with you it's the thing that you already had been doing, rutinal things.

Such as cleaning and shopping groceries, anything that helps you with your chores.

And usually, this "dates" end up with a tender moment wich usually is a warm Bath.

So its just the two of you, rubbing each other rubing your sore bodies.

With a slow music playing on the background, bubbles, music and even some wine.

Gabriel "The Trickster"

A party, a buffet, even a brothel, since he can make every scenario posible, everything it's the perfect date, cause It IS with you.

So, you get to choose the when and the where, cause he can materialize It in any second.

He just wants to make you laugh and have a good time, even if it's with the most bizarre or the most common things, i picture this man as a total pleaser.

But, the two things that he Will do no matter what it's eat sweets and feed you with them.

It's his nly condition to make the evening perfect, have you on his lap and put a Candy on your tongue, maybe with his mouth.

Jack Kline

A carnival or a amusement park.

He still has the soul of a child so his perfect date would circle around fun.

Eating pop corn, playing minigolf, trying to win everything on the booths, you still don't know where he got the money,

If he makes you laugh then the night IS a good one.

He finishes the night with a kiss on your doorstep, he saw that on a movie and wanted to try It.

Being Dean Winchester’s Daughter Would Include

1.) Dean teaching you how to drive in the impala, but he’s scared that either of his babies would get hurt so he would make up any excuse for you never to get behind a wheel. This of course ended with Dean catching you and Sam in a driving lesson and you both got yelled at for hours.

2.) Ever since you were in pigtails, Dean would always call you nicknames like “Kiddo”, “Rugrat”, or “Princess”. Your Uncle Sam would keep it rather traditional with “Sweetheart”,“Honey”, or your least favorite “Lil’ Dean”.

3.) Your dad and uncle would make lasting friendships through the years, but would hide them from you because they know that if you get attached, then it’ll break your little heart if they died.

4.) Dean taught you his music taste and basically forbid you to obsess over Bieber or Katy Perry, but you didn’t necessarily ‘love’ his hard rock music taste. You tended to favor Sam’s favorites such as The Beatles, Wings, and the Traveling Wilburys, but Dean got you hooked on Queen, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and David Bowie.

5.) If either your dad or uncle were killed on a hunt or by whoever, they made a deal to take you in no matter what the circumstances were because they would never abandon you like John would.

6.) If you were ever hurt or sick, Dean and Sam would put on this whole show of Dr. Dad and Nurse Sammy. They would dress up in scrubs and check you over all while keeping a playful charade. Your final treatment would always be 20 extra cc’s of tickles and of course rest. Unlucky for you, this carried on well into your teenage years even if they had to drag you down to the infirmary to do so.

7.) You always understood that family doesn’t end in blood. When you were a little girl that reached up to just below their knees, you had the best family you could remember. Uncle Cas was always around and would let you put makeup on him and style his hair, but little did you know that you taught Castiel how to open his heart to people especially to a little girl. That came in handy when he sacrificed himself for the sake of you and Jack against the empty. Then of course you had Grandpa Bobby, or “GrandBob”. Bobby would come off as a nasty old grump to everyone else, but to you he would do anything you said. He practically raised Sam and Dean, but you were different than they were at your age. Bobby saw you as Dean’s precious baby girl who deserved the sun, moon, and stars. And damn-it, he would lasso the biggest star in the sky if you asked him to. You grew up with many amazing men who would do anything to keep you happy, but no one compared to Jack. You were 16 when Jack was born and unlike your dad and uncle in the beginning, you did everything in your power to protect him from your family. You actually helped Jack run away when he was first new, but you knew damn well and Dean dragged your ass back to the bunker once him and Sam tracked you both down. After Dean finally cam around to your side and chose to accept Jack as a member of the family, it made it easier for you to get closer with the devils son. You both were never romantically involved, but your were destined to the two half’s of a whole. He was your Westley and you were his Buttercup. However, Dean wasn’t too happy with seeing you and Jack getting all buddy-buddy, but Sam convinced him that this was really the first friendship you ever had. All through your life, you realized that you had a huge family that loved you, and you loved them in return always.
