i really like that Rob and Isaac are in the same bracket. it’s very poetic.

both are young boys hated by their Gods, forced into isolation against their will, and betrayed by those they thought they could trust.

left abandoned, they are their only means of escape from their respective prisons. both boys pursue freedom no matter how disfigured they become or how traumatized it leaves them.

i think if you knew I was obsessed with the binding of Isaac since it came out when I was still single digit age that explains a lot about me. my baby sensory videos were northernlion playing the gory bible death baby shit game. I remember when wrath of the lamb came out and I remember I used to HATE how rebirth looked (still prefer the og cartoony artstyle bc I think it’s cute but rebirth looks fine.) like I have had a special interest in this extremely not child friendly media since I was like. seven or eight. it was my favourite thing.

In both the original version of The Binding of Isaac and its expansion Wrath of the Lamb, exhausting all of the items from an item pool would result in the game generating an invalid placeholder item that does nothing when collected. It rapidly flickers through every item sprite in the game and is simply called Undefined. This was later officially added in Rebirth as an actual active item complete with a glitched appearance as a direct reference to the bug found in the original game.

Finally managed to beat Mom for the first time! I wasn’t expecting that at all on this run, especially since it was like “one run before I go to bed” and I also just kinda ran to all the boss rooms. This also meant that I didn’t seek out treasure rooms, so my first Mom defeat was also the one that unlocked Samson.

The Binding of Isaac Tips and Tricks: Patterns

In a rogue-like game like The Binding of Isaac, one essential tip for every beginner and pro players is to learn the patterns of the Game. Like how every floors can have traps or what monsters and bosses' attack patterns look like. Knowing these kinds of stuff, especially the art of dodging, is very vital in winning a run.

Of course, in the process of learning these patterns, you'll have to lose a lot first, especially if you're a beginner player. That's definitely okay! Losing is always the first part. This makes you accustomed and exposed to a lot of boss and enemy patterns.

Songtober Day 3: First album

When I was about 12, I heard this prog rock song playing from my dad’s computer and instantly fell in love with it. After hearing it again a couple of times I asked him “What band is this?” and he ended up giving me the entire discography in a USB. I wanted to find that one song, so I listened to Black Clouds and Silver Linings by Dream Theater before anything else. I borrowed the clouds and broken bottle in the cover to draw a little Isaac illustration.
